It's Fat Tuesday!!! You know what that means?! Paczki!! That's what motivated this non red meat eating gal to venture onto Rockville Pike on a weekday. What can be better than a Polish Market to buy my fried ball of love from? (Folks in Hamtramck, MI wait in two hour lines for these.) Well... I was expecting to see mounds of powdered sugar topping these goodies. Instead, their paczki are glazed. I can't quite identify what they are filled with either. Generally it's jelly or custard. Mine kinda tasted like and had the consistency of ... apple butter. Hmm? I ate it anyway. Half now; half later. They're huge and worthy of the $1.25 price tag. However, I think I'll stick with Woodmoor Pastry Shop in the future. Paczki aside, just in case you are wondering, this is not a factory that makes kielbasa as perceived by the name. Maybe in the backroom they are. This place is the Polish equivalence of the front half of Cafe Mozart in DC. It has a deli. It sells all kinds of Polish goodies. Does a Cadbury chocolate bar taste different when it's wrapped in a Polish label? Hmm? Edit note: I just found out the filling was rosehip jelly.

I don't know how to say this without anyone reading into it, but I actually don't eat that much sausage. However, this place does very much remind me of my Polish roommate who always took an extra empty suitcase back to Chicago with her and came back with it filled with kielbasa. Dzieki, pani! She was the one who introduced me to this place, and although I see sausage as a vessel for eating lots of mustard and sauerkraut, there are lots of things to entice me in this small Polish market/deli. First of the potato and cheese (or cabbage) pierogies here are the best to buy and freeze. Secondly, zywiec beer. Third, cheap delicje cookies. They are jelly filled chocolate covered cookies (best flavor: apricot), that are so good that if the Girl Scouts started selling these cookies I would avoid them less. I'd also be 500lbs. And lastly pickled goods, I love pickled anything (except for herring). If you're planning a tailgating extravanganza and need some flavorful kielbasas to barbeque, go here (FYI: some sausages are made there, others are brought in from Chi town). Don't forget the koscuisko spicy mustard and fresh sauerkraut. And if you're in the mood for polish pastries like the ones Libby F describes come here early on a Saturday morning before they sell out.

This place is great. The selection of food that they have in stock is amazing, but the staff is what makes this place great. Every time we go the staff is so welcoming and warm. It reminds me of visiting my grandmother who wants you to be happy, well fed with good food. The staff is always willing to offer a sample and help out.

Tried it for the first time today, loved it. Friendly staff who, as first timers, offered us samples of various kielbasa. Got the sandwich with sauerkraut, was delicious and inexpensive. Have the cabbage roll on Fridays, great. Awesome spot, it's a hole in the wall and hope it doesn't change.

Just went to this place for the first time today! They were doing a special in-store tasting of 3 different types of mead. We left with two bottles, a 6 pack of beer, candies, a bunch of pierogi and a huge link of kielbasa. I'm definitely a fan! The staff was very nice and attentive, and the girl behind the meat counter let us sample 4 different kielbasa before making our purchase. The only complaint I have is that it's a little pricey, but we'll see if I still think that after sampling the pierogi!

  • Glen F.

Someone gave me some homemade pierogies so of course you need some kielbasa to go with it. Everything was good but what was nice was how nice and helpful the people were. Oftentimes when you go into an ethnic food store and you're not that ethnicity you don't treated well.

Great selection of Polish food with some other eastern European offerings as well. I was greeted as soon as I entered and the staff was friendly, helpful and enthusiastic from start to finish. The store is located in a strip mall in Rockville, MD, so never would have found it without social media and word of mouth, but glad I found it! Great selection of Polish meats and cheeses as well as breads, pierogis, garnishes, chocolates/sweets, beer/wine and much more. This is where you go in the DC area to pick up supplies for a Polish meal!

Let's be honest, most European markets smell bad, they're rude, and based on the layer of dust you have no idea how long the merchandise has been sitting around. NOT SO with the Kielbasa Factory! This place is friendly, clean, well stocked and organized. I sampled several different sausages, bought some beer, mustard and a fantastically cheap grilled kielbasa sandwich. The sausage had a hot smoky taste and was delicious. This will be my go-to place to stock up on sausage, pierogies and on-the go sandwiches. Give it a try.

These folks were so nice to us. My girl and I shared a kielbasa w/ sauerkraut and one of those homemade polish doughnuts. Everything tasted fresh. The polish language was everywhere as Polish patrons chatted back and forth. We also bought Christmas gifts for my family...unique finds. 5 stars - all sorts of cool stuff to try. Even packaged goodies and chocolates. We'll be back.

This is a great little Polish market in a strip mall in Rockville. They have tons of varieties of pierogies and other traditional Polish dishes. My husband had just returned from Poland when we went here, and he found a lot of little delicacies he had tried while there- they definitely have the authentic goods. We also tried some sausages while we were there. You can get sandwiches there and they also have bulk sausages to buy and cook at home. We did both. All of the sausages we cooked at home were great (we got such a variety that I do not know all of the names). But I do know, nothing disappointed. The sandwich we had there was keilbasa- served very traditionally with mustard on a piece of white bread. It may not sound like much, but do yourself a favor and grab one of these babies for lunch one day. So simple, yet so good. My husband says it is the best he has had outside of Poland.

Driving down Rockville Pike on Saturday afternoon was difficult enough with all the traffic, but on top of it, I was starving! However while waiting at a stop light, Kielbasa Factory caught my eye and a quick yelp showed good reviews. The grocery store is a bit small and the merchandise is pricy, but everything seemed either homemade or imported from Poland. They have a really nice deli with various meats and kielbasas. My girlfriend and I decided to try different sandwiches and split them for lunch. Also, we picked up a couple of polish drinks for $.99 but they were quite bad--mines tasted like flat Redbull. Keep in mind this place has no seating at all so you most likely will be dining in your car. Both the Kielbasa and Turkey/Cheese sandwich was very well made and delicious. The kielbasa had a nice natural casing and a crunch and the sauerkraut was just right. The turkey sandwich was good, but what took it over the top was the mustard. This place makes for a nice quick lunch and next time I have a BBQ I know exactly where I will be getting sausages from. Food - B+ Service - B+ Atmosphere - B

The ladies that work are very welcoming and if you let them know it's your first time there, they will tell you about all their offerings. The most important thing to note is that the Kielbasa Factory is not a restaurant/sit-down deli. You purchase your goods/food and then be on your way. I tried their kielbasa sandwich with mustard no kraut and a cherry cheese danish. The sandwich was good and went well with the grain mustard. I thought the casing on the kielbasa was a little chewy, but it's likely just me.....The danish was as big as my face. It wasn't anything outstanding, but I'm a sucker for any kind of pastry. You can purchase coffee, freshly made sausages, pierogies, tchochkes, and other various dry goods here. If you're in the area and are craving some kielbasa that's not Pepperidge Farms, this is the best place to go.

I am glad I learned about the Kielbasa Factory and discovered this Polish and European deli! It really has a nice selection of everything Polish - including all types of pierogi, kielbasa sausages, deli meats, stuffed cabbage, mushrooms, dried soup mixes, sweets, and homemade Polish doughnuts (Paczki). Apparently, on Fridays, they stock fresh pierogi! So many varieties. I tried a savory pierogi - sauerkraut and mushroom - and also a sweet pierogi - filled with cherry and farmers cheese. Both very good. Tasted homemade. They stock many imported items from Europe and Poland in particular. I was impressed with the variety of chocolates (including bars and a selection of gift boxes of chocolate covered cherries!) and even Polish Nutella (European Nutella is made with vegetable oil instead of the variety imported for America, made with palm oil). I will be back. Great spot to find imported European items at reasonable prices, plus the Polish ladies running this place are so helpful and welcoming!

Nice, lovely place, good food, real polish taste kielbasa! Huge choice of different taste, you gonna find for sure what you like!!! Awesome service, and really very good quality products!!! My favorite Polish shop!!!

Good Kielbasa sandwich, I need to remember this place to get some bulk kielbasa for outdoor grilling. Nice little market with Polish groceries, everyone here was speaking Polish (like I would know).

Read the reviews so finally decided to check it out. The Kielbasa sandwich with mustard and kraut was amazing. They grill it on a George Forman Grill which gave it a good snap when you bite into it. While waiting, they let me try each Kielbasa flavor in the case. Can't wait to go back and grill my own.

I love small business owners. These ladies care as well. Greeting you kindly as you enter, and if you are not familiar with the products, they will educate you. They will give you a sample of the various sausages. Try them. They also carry pierogies and general grocery items native to Poland. Im impressed and I will be back.

Oh my god... it's Polish grocery food NIRVANA! This is a very unassuming store, if you are in the strip mall from the Rockville side of the street, you have to go upstairs in what looks like an abandoned section of a strip mall on the second level. However, these are the rear entrances since the business is on a hill, with parking in the back which is at ground level, but you can enter this way. In here be food friggin goodness. There are lots of Polish and some other Eastern European goods for package consumption. However, what really stands out here are a few things. Number one is the butcher counter. There is an array of kielbasa, sausage and other prepared meats that are fantastic. You can literally smell the pork and smoke and spices when you walk in the door. When you approach the counter overwhelmed by the glory that is pork, you can ask for samples of anything you might consider buying. The wedding sausage was a personal favorite, and I am in love with the Danish Bacon. Jesus... Don't forget to ask for the homemade perogies. They are in the fridge in front of the butcher counter. They do sell the other frozen mass produced kind, but I just dove in to dinner tonight and had the pork and the cheese ones, and they are so dang good! At the register for check out sits an older woman who chats with the locals in native Polish picking up their items, while the back shelf shows off simple souvenirs, mugs that say I love my Polish Matka, and so on. She was also very knowledgeable and could answer about any of the products they carry, with some translation helped with the staff working behind the counter. She was so sweet. I wanted her to take me home and feed me till I exploded... I whipped up those perogies at home, fried up some onions to go with them as suggested, and noshing on some sausage and grabbed a simple Polish beer. Doesn't get any better than that! An absolute great stop for butchered meats and those fantastic perogies! Zdrowie! Will have to return!

If you're in the mood for Polish sausage and Eastern European specialty cuisines, then the Kielbasa Factory is the place for you! The Wedding Kielbasa (Double Smoked) is my personal favorite, but they have a whole host of sausages that they grind themselves, as well as imports you probably won't find anywhere around. German or Polish Sweets? Check. Pierogi? Lots of options! I don't speak Polish, so there are a ton of dishes that I don't even recognize, but the owners are very nice and always willing to explain or let you sample items (where possible). I used to think I knew what Polish sausage was, but now I know for sure. This quaint little shop is chock full of so many things, and they'll even make a sandwich for you while you shop. A quick note: make sure to head to the upper parking lot behind the Talbott Center, as there is no access from the front of the building that faces Rockville Pike.

Tried their Kielbasa sandwiches for the first time. I personally liked the mustard and kruat combination. Like a tangy bit to it. True to the reviews of other yelpers, the ladies there are very helpful if you don't have any clue what something is. There will be some persuasion in putting more into your basket, so yes be firm to stick to what you want. Going to try their Pierogi next, it should be interesting. Would definitely come again!

Good meats. Nice jams from Poland. Hit or miss customer service. Some tendency to pressure customers who aren't deciding quickly enough.

This place is both a small polish grocery store and sandwich shop. I came here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. I ordered two Kielbasa sandwiches for $5.99 each. It was a sandwich with their polish sausage in between wheat bread, with the addition of mustard. The sandwich was overall plain but the sausage is what makes it different. Never had polish food but after taking the first bite, I can say I will go back for more. Tip: Ask for less mustard. The small grocery store section has imported polish chocolates, beer, drinks, spices, and much more! Treated myself to some chocolates ($1.99 each). I'll see how they actually taste though. I definitely want to come back and pick up a 6 pack of their polish beers to try ($10.99). The service here was phenomenal. I walked in and 3 seconds later someone asked if I needed help. She translated the language on the chocolates so i knew exactly what I was purchasing and recommended which sandwiches to buy. This place is worth a try for the food if you're on a budget or want something new to try. If not you can always pick up some random chocolates or groceries.

A few old school commercials: "Would you like a giant Kielbasa stuck in between two slices of bread with mustard and kraut for a ridiculously cheap sum of money. Like seriously! We're talking 5 dollars. When's the last time you got lunch for 5 bucks. And no, we don't consider Subway food! Come on down to Rockville and welcome to the Kielbasa Factory." Also, "Do you have a hard time finding all of your favorite Polish staples? Like handmade pirogies, fresh Kielbasas, and more! Soup mixes, Polish extracts, Polish candies! The list never ends! Hop on down to the Kielbasa Factory" or "Do you go shopping for Polish Groceries and have a hard time understanding what everything means?! *Confused woman with her hands in the air* 'Oh no! Not again!' Well, don't worry! The folks at Kielbasa Factory will explain it all for you! You got questions? They got answers! Pop on down to the best Polish shop in Rockville!"

This place is amazing! They have an aray of differnt authentic polish food, candy, and other misc things. The deli is great too and has a great fresh kielbasa sandwich for $7.99. We always get the fresh butter, pierogies, and kielbasa. Fresh Friday's are the days to go and try everything but they give samples everyday. We drive 50miles just to come here!

Amazing little place, packed full of Polish and European goodies, including condiments, canned goods, candies, souvenirs and more. Of course the highlight is the fresh in-house made kielbasa and other Polish delights. It's rare to find a well made Kielbasa in the U.S. as most are mass produced for chain stores and very Americanized. I was so pleased to not only find great Kielbasa, but to have such a variety of types to choose from. Not knowing exactly what I wanted, I was offered tastes of each at the deli counter. One was better than the next, but I settled on the simple village Kielbasa. I also picked up some spicy mustard, horseradish, dry aged hunter sausage, and the most incredible homemade, crunchy and fresh tasting sauerkraut I've ever had. It was not at all like the Americanized stuff that's soupy, sour, fine cut and packaged. This stuff was delicately flavored, fresh, crisp and absolutely delightful. I can't wait to go back and buy more items. If I didn't already have Pierogies at home, I would have bought some fresh from the market. They had sweet and savory, as well as various blintzes. I'm so happy to have this local gem nearby. I will be back again and again!! Tons of parking in front or back, but the back is all one level and seems handicap accessible.

Small but packed to the brim with Polish/Euro goodies. I visited this location a few weeks ago and wanted to hold off on reviewing until I tried everything. It did not disappoint. Upon walking in I was greeted with smiles and hellos and most important - free samples! My boyfriend and I were greeted in English but I said Czesc back and we conversed w the owner in Polish. But the owner was just as nice to the non-polaks. At one point I facetimed my parents to ask what else I should get and the owner was running around the store just pointing out where things were as my mom yelled what to get. Where else could you do that?! Prices, as expected are going to be a little higher than Giant or another grocer, since these are premium imported products. But after trying everything I was very happy with our purchases. I only wish they had a Metro-accessible/DC location! But there's decent enough parking on a main road. Tip: park in the back to avoid the steps out front. Enjoy!

Kielbasa sandwich is so, so hot. But so, so good. Hard to beat for value and quality. The ladies in there will feed you as many samples as you can stand of their wonderful sausage.

I tried kielbasa sandwich , it was really good . One thing - I wouldn't add sauerkraut , didn't taste as good . Also tried awesome poppy seed roulette, oh it's delicious !

so just to be clear: THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. i didn't get that from the reviews so I don't want anyone else to be misguided. that being said, i stocked up on pierogies!!! all different kinds, i believe, over 20. so far i have only cooked the potato and onion and they are yummilicious. i came on that famous polish day for punchkies, polish donuts, so naturally i had to try them. they were aight, i prefer regular donuts. the store is small but well supplied. the counter staff are very friendly and helpful parking is plentiful. but again ,THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. enjoy!

Love this place. The employees were very very helpful. Let me sample a bunch of sausages before I decided on which ones I wanted. Everyone was delicious. If you like bacon, the hunter's bacon is to die for. Lean and delicious.

  • Molly G.

I had to try the sausage and finally chose the hunters kielbasa.... AMAZING! So lean I added a tiny bit of oil in the pan. I also purchased mushroom pierogies that were equally delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and sold me some mustard to go with the sausage, offered me samples and explained everything to me! I will be back!!

What a find! A real ethnic deli in MoCo, the best kielbasa I have had in long time. Great products I was used to driving to VA . I am now a regular.

The store was inconspicuously located no loud sign I thought it was a wholesale kielbasa packing plant but it turned to be a retail store. It was such an impressive store with all sorts of kielbasa sausages mostly smoked and even the fresh ones too. The lady behind the counter was just the most awesome sales person she generously let us sampled the various sausages expecting we would be impressed. Well, we were. These were some of the most delicious freshly made kielbasa I ever had it was so tasty, every type of the sausages. She was relentlessly slicing away everything they carried including the fresh one that were pan fried it was really really delicious! So we bought a few links of the garlicky kielbasa, the knockwurst and the fresh sausages. She even sliced some cheeses they were very tasty as well. I turned around and saw the perogies both frozen and freshly made already cooked ones. I could not resist the sauerkraut and mushroom ones they were just divine when warmed up. We had a feast with the food we bought really enjoyed it! We would be going back for more :)

Very good kielbasa and a wide selection of pierogies. The lady at the register was very helpful in recommending what meats to get. I'll definitely be back.

I know I don't look Polish, but my grandfather was, and one of my favorite things my Mom would make for me growing up, besides East African chapati, were pierogi. So, I was pretty excited to find this place. Fresh pierogi is available on Fridays; unfortunately, we visited on Thursday. We ended up buying frozen ones which were still delicious as was the kielbasa they make here. Plus, we found quite possibly the best mustard I've ever had! The prices were reasonable and the service was very friendly. We'll definitely be back for the fresh pierogi!

Stopped here for lunch after reading some reviews. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant and have been randomly craving kielbasa. The store is tiny but clean and well organized. There is a wide selection of Polish goods. The majority of the pre packaged items are labeled in Polish so you may need to ask for help. They were very busy around lunch time, but the lady at the deli counter was still able to offer me a sample. I ordered the Kielbasa sandwhich with sauerkraut. I also picked up a lb of mild kielbasa, some spicy polish mustard, and a bag of iced gingerbread cookies. The sandwich was quite good. The sausage was fresh, not too greasy, and paired well with the sauerkraut. The spicy mustard I bought was amazing!! It was 1.99 for a jar and it's one of the best mustards I have ever tried. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something new on the Pike.

Based on random selection from Yelp reviews, we stopped here for lunch. It is in a strip mall (which are surprisingly nice in rockville), and it looks from the outside like it's been abandoned. No worries. They make some excellent kielbasa, which is what we ordered (as a sandwich--wrapped in two pieces of French-type bread and doused in mustard, $5.99). We also bought some frozen pierogies (I think also $5.99 for 10), of which there are many types. I'm sure this place would be heaven for a Polish expat, as the grocery store has lots of imported items. Definitely going back for another sandwich and to take home some of the delicious looking bacon and various kielbasa from the deli case.

I never had kielbasa until I went to Poland this past summer. All of the kielbasas that are offered at your standard grocery stores usually contain beef and I don't like beef no I never bother with kielbasa. When I went to Poland, I had to try the local cuisine and with the aid of Wikipedia, I learned that most of Polish kielbasa only contain pork! I was extremely happy with that finding and fell in love with kielbasa at the first kielbasa stand in the middle of a town square in Krakow. It was also the first time that I ever had homemade pierogies and it was way better than Mrs. T's in the grocery store freezer section. After coming back to the States, I wasn't sure where I would find kielbasa with only pork as the meat ingredient. With the aid of Google, I found something at Whole Food so I stuck with that choice for a bit. I also found this place through my Google search, but because I live in Virginia, coming here is not that convenient for me. My mom lives near by, but whenever I'm up in this area, the store is usually closed. One Saturday evening, I happened to be near by for a birthday party. We decided to stop by to get some kielbasa. Their selections are much greater than Whole Food and the guy behind the counter was very helpful and let us sample a couple of kinds of kielbasa. We ended up purchasing both kinds along with the breakfast kielbasa. There was a very helpful customer in the store at the time that I was there and she recommended a very spicy horseradish sauce to go with the kielbasa. I tried this morning and that thing has some serious kick to it. If you need to clear your stuffy nose, I think it will definitely helps. I also discovered the fruit juice that contains lychee, banana, coconut, and pineapple juice. I was nursing my sore throat that day and the juice really helped. It was also very tasty. They also carry pre-made pierogies in the freezer section. I will definitely stop by again to restock on my kielbasa and pierogies when I'm in the area and they are open. PS After I got back from Poland, I made homemade pierogies a couple of times as I don't know where to find real Polish pierogies. My first time was a disaster as I didn't know that I should not stack them on top of each other as they will stick together. If you ever try to make homemade pierogies, make sure to line the baking sheet with parchment paper and dust it lightly with flour. This will keep them from sticking to the baking sheet. PSS If you ever find yourself in Poland and you check-in on Yelp, there is a badge for Poland.

Kielbasa Factory gets 5 stars for the best kielbasa and Polish food. I was able to pick up a 'Warsaw' kielbasa with cracked pepper and garlic for Easter. It was very delicious with some horseradish mustard. The girl behind the counter was very nice and they had samples so you could chose which one you liked the best. They were all out of babka bread but that was my fault for shopping so late for the holiday. See you next Easter Kielbasa factory.

BP and I were very excited to visit the Kielbasa Factory, even though we do not eat pork. We came in around 6:15 pm and the store was empty save for the three women running the deli and counter. We got spoiled with samples of turkey, beef, and cheese. The blond woman also paid special attention to our dietary restriction. They all had accents ;) BP and I drooled over the variety of stone-ground and specialized mustard and chocolate coated cookies, but bought KinderEggs Surprise, potato and cheese and potato and mushroom pierogies, a corned beef sandwich from the deli and a half pound of turkey breast for lunches this week. We were told to come back for Paczki (almost like a jelly filled donut) on Fridays when the store is open until 8pm and that we can call and order ahead to ensure they don't run out. Looking forward to it!

The hubs and I were pretty excited in checking out the Kielbasa Factory. We're both sausage fans, so we stopped by while we were in the area. A Polish & a European deli and grocery store that has been around for about 11 years, this place offers a variety of Polish sausages, hams, kielbasas, pierogies, pastries (on Fridays), chocolates, and snacks. I tried one of their specials, the 'Fresh Kielbasa,' which is grilled-to-order Ms. Adela, coming with a side of sauerkraut, mustard, and two slices of rye bread. While waiting for the sausage to cook, I was shown around the store by the manager, Ms. Beata, sharing her favorite drinks, snacks, and meats. We were able to sample some of the smoked meats and bacon, all cooked, but you can either cook it into a dish, dry it a bit more out in the sun, or eat it with some cheese. I also bought a bunch of their potato chip snacks, chocolates, and beverages; while the snacks were forgettable, I did enjoy some of their drinks (like the Bobo Frut's banana grape, and the Tymbark's cherry apple). The Kielbasa sandwich that was ordered, while fresh, was a bit undercooked (it was still kind of pink 1/2-way; it was a shame, as the sausage itself seemed to have a pretty good flavor, and I liked the strong mustard that it came with; the sauerkraut was a bit forgettable, and I wished it was more fresh and more crisp. The staff here are really friendly and are really excited to share their favorites; I'd love to come back and try out their pastries and the imported cheese that they have available on Fridays. Located upstairs in the Maruichi plaza, this place is pretty cool if you're looking to try out some Polish delicacies. +Polish juices (Bobo Frut's banana grape & Tymbark's cherry apple) +friendly staff :D +2nd floor of the Maruichi plaza

Delightful little Polish shop located in a strip mall behind The Potomac Grill. I come here strictly for the variety of kielbasa and Czech Beer!!! There is a wonderful variety of grocery items too. The owners are wonderful, the shop is quite clean. They will even prepare sandwiches if you like. Check it out.

This place is worth the trip. The Kielbasa is excellent- they have a fantastic selection and it is delicious. They make a variety of sandwiches. The women who worked there were very friendly and super helpful. It isn't a big place, but it has plenty of Polish delicacies to choose from. I got some amazing chocolates, blintzes, and Paczkis. There were many other things that are really difficult to find. I definitely recommend this place. My boyfriend is Polish and he was very impressed too.

We had bought some kielbasa after a tasting of 3 different ones. Some cokes and two sandwiches, kielbasa with mustard and one with kraut. The flavors were right, but the capusta was not hot or hot enough. My biggest grip was the amount of grisselle in my sandwich .

Neomi and I bought there yesterday great Kielbasa sandwiches, with saur kraut and mast add and ate them at home. Very tasty, like Austrian hot dogs. We also bought Pirogi and blintzes to cook at home but have not yet tried them, even tough I am confident they will be great.

Love this store. The people are very friendly and helpful. They have just about anything you could want from Poland. They make kielbasa and stuffed cabbage on the weekends and have read-made kielbasa every day. So many different types of pierogies that you'll want to stock your freezer.

This little shop is worth the trip and I came from Ashburn which is probably 35 miles away looking for the real thing in Polish sausage (kielbasa) for the holidays. When I lived in PA you could walk to three shops like this but in DC not so much. It was worth the effort if for no other reason than the great and patient customer service shown by all employees. With 12 or 13 different kinds of smoked kielbasa it's difficult to choose. Not to worry. They will give you samples and a description of contents. Also bought 5 or 6 different kinds of pierogi (frozen) and looking forward to trying them. Highly suggest this place for an introduction to ethnic foods you may not have tried.

after i got an email from yelp about some local sausage spots i chose this one. The lady working was very friendly. She let us taste one of the kielbasas that ive never heard of and we ordered the kielbasa sandwich. Everything about it was delicious but the kinder chocolate snacks we also got. loved this place and will be coming back soon.

We had the kielbasa sandwich and it was outstanding. We were offered samples of 4 different kielbasas, all were exceptional. Bought kabanos (thin polish sausages) for the road (~2 lbs), had to restrain myself from eating them all on the way home. Fridays they have fresh halupkis, cant wait to try. It is a bit hard to find...it is on the upper level if you approach from the front...or you can park in back (better option) then you are on the same level.

I'm not big lover of sausage, but love this store's. There's so many kinds but they're very friendly to explain each to help you. Love their rolled cabbage, pierogies...

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They take credit cards. You can ask to try some samples of the their sausages before you buy. They also make their own fresh kielbasa, which is very tasty. We got to sample that also. Will go back when the weather gets warmer to grill some fresh ones!

I go out of my way to come here. I should clarify that, I have to go out of my way to come here. I live in VA so Rockville's a hike regardless. Having said that it's a pretty good Polish market. Excellent selection of kielbasa, mixes, sweets and other dry goods. Staff was really helpful in answering questions from my non-Polish friend while I was busy shopping. If you get there earlier enough you can score fresh buns. Pair that with some plum jam and you're set. The only thing that I wish they had was fresh pierogi.

Planned my 2011 Winter Classic tailgating menu to be the reason to finally make my way to this wonderful store-o-meat. The great reviews from a great chef I know had me always thinking of swinging by but I never pulled the trigger. If you're going to tailgate in Pittsburgh you need sausage. The meat I got from this place was top notch smoked kielbasa, the most flavorful brats, and fun cocktail sausages. The price was very reasonable, getting meat for 4 plus left overs for under 25 bucks. The staff welcomes the customer to taste the goods to make sure they're happy with what they're getting. Not always the best English but hey, that's authenticity for ya! Everyone was very nice. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. There's plenty of specialties there left to try the next few trips and when I need good chocolate, I know there will be good selections of that too. Did I mention the perogies? Only thing lacking was no cheese to speak of and only kaiser rolls... no grinders for sausage subs... but really that's only a minor thing. I recommend this place highly.

The kabanosy are addictive! Stay away! Seriously, a very good Polish store. Recommendations: 1. Kabanosy 2. Polish sausage (kielbasa) for grilling. 3. Try the Salami cheese - not what you think - a good mild cheese 4. Zywiec beer (a good pilsner) 5. Pierniczki Alpejskie (chocolate covered Gingerbread) 6. Delicje (chocolate covered cookies with fruit jelly filling)

Definitely recommend a trip (or many) here. All sorts of Polish canned, jarred and frozen foods, including many varieties of pierogi; a meat/cheese counter with more varieties of sausage than I've ever seen before, plus bacons, other prepared meats, cabbage rolls, cheeses; also imported chocolates and some very interesting looking wines, all packed into a narrow space. The staffers were happy to provide tastings of the kielbasas (I had no idea so many varieties existed), and carefully described each. I went there for a kielbasa sandwich - as per the picture, it isn't very photogenic, it's homey and authentic, served with Polish brown spicy mustard, sauerkraut (the good kind), on sliced seedless rye - but it was the best kielbasa I've ever had by leaps and bounds, and I enjoyed it greatly. Be aware that there is no seating, so prepare to eat in the parking lot if you can't wait (I couldn't!). Came home with all sorts of treasures. Parking is a piece of cake - this place is on the second floor of Talbott Center which is on a hill, so the back parking is on level with its rear entrance and is the better bet; coming from the front lot is a flight of stairs.

While I am not of recent Eastern European decent, I must say I know what I like and that includes various sausage products from this store. I was introduced to it a few years ago. Wow, how it has changed. It now is a brightly lit, well-stocked, well-decorated store with wonderful products, most of which I am not familiar with. I never leave without a decent supply of sausage. How do you review an ethnic grocery store where you clearly feel out of place? Well, I suppose it's always a good sign when you feel transported to another country (see Cornucopia on expectations for ethnic specialty stores yelp.com/biz/cornucopia-… ). First, what do the labels say? Very few things are in English so, given the character markings, I'd guess Polish (later confirmed by Polish shot glasses and flags). This can only mean on thing - imported products. Also, most of the brand names aren't from US-based companies (e.g. General Mills, Kraft, etc.). Second, what are the interactions like with the people behind the counters? All of them are too busy speaking Polish to other customers and probably couldn't care less about us observers. Lastly, how likely would I have purchased something if I was in the market for Polish food products (especially sausages)? Very Likely. I doubt that I'd find a lot of similar items at Whole Foods, Giant, or Safeway. Overall, I'm very excited to find the Kielbasa Factory because it introduced me to an entirely unknown food culture. Moreover, this many Poles can't be wrong. In other words, ethnic specialty stores rely on a core constituency of immigrants from its native country, so to see so many native-speakers shopping here is a testament to Kielbasa Factory's authenticity and quality. 4 Stars - This review is identical to the European Bazaar, a Russian deli and bakery, further south on Rockville Pike ( yelp.com/biz/european-ba… ). Both were practically equal in size, selection, price, and customers - except of course that one is Russian and the other is Polish.

Went there after hearing about a spice store across the street in a whim. The two girls behind the counter gorgeous blondes slicing meats to try. Very helpful, very patient at finding what I might like. On to the mustards. Nice variety of mustards I have never tried. again the girl came over and help me choose one that I might like. ( I ended up taking the one she recommended. ( when in poland ) . To me looked like half sour deli pickles at a dirt cheap price of 2.50 for atleast 8 pickles seemed like a steal. The taste was very clean and fresh tasting with a great crunch. I did not get a chance to get try or buy the potato dumplings. Next trip I will shift my focus to that. As for the helpfulness of the staff here. Can't give 6 stars. Yelp will not allow it. even the Owner he cashier was amazing to deal with. Store was filled with tons of Frat style american guys buying Kielbasa , I am guessing to watch the game with. The Kielbasa is that good.

Kielbasa Factory is our "go to" place to get authentic Kielbasa and other Polish foods. Dropped by today to pick up 5 pounds of the "Wedding sausage" which has a great smoky flavor. I'm originally from Poland and had been looking for a decent Polish store ever since I moved to Maryland. It took a while before I found this place but I'm so glad I did! Walking inside feels like walking into an authentic grocery store in Poland. It offers everything from fresh bread, fresh paczki (on fridays only), magazines, candy, chocolate, beers, and of course the absolutely amazing assortment of meats and cheeses. They also have some fun Polish memorabilia like tshirts and shot glasses. My only complaint would be the high prices, but for the high quality and assortment of food, and type of imported goods the price makes sense. This is a great find, and one of the better Polish stores I have been to in the States.

Recently my family and I planned my grandparents' 50th anniversary party and they wanted to renew their vows. My grandmother is Polish and my grandfather is Czech. So I searched high and low for a slavic grocery store to get some favs for the beloved Timchaks. I ordered Paczki (of course), polish sausage links (as requested by my grandfather), pork fat (disgusting I know, but yet another odd request by my grandfather who eats this on bread), I got horse radish (another duh), pickles just for the hell of it and of course pierogis! Everything was delicious! The lady was very nice and helped me find everything I needed. If you buy the pierogis which most of you will... make sure you boil the pierogi first and then pan fry them in butter and onions. :)

This is a great little place that could easily fit in the midst of a large city, which in effect it is. The selection of meats and other products is excellent. While it might not draw a lot of attention from the outside, once one is inside the store, it has a lot to offer. There are also sandwiches available at the counter, including a "pate sandwich". If you are interested in ethnic foods, particularly those from Eastern Europe, or just want to see something of quality off the beaten path, this store is strongly recommended.

This place is great, I went here for the first time with a Polish co-worker which really helped a lot. She had been raving about the Polish Pickles and know I know what she means, I love a good pickle, but these things are downright addictive. With 4 calories and no fat they almost make up for the tempting Kielbasa and wide variety of Pirogi. I got the Polinaise Polish Dill Pickles, Kamis Sarepska Polish mustard, kabanos (which is a long skinny smoked kielbasa) along with several other kinds of kielbasa, potato and cheese pirogi and the mushroom and sauerkraut pirogi (which i was told is one of there most popular varieties. Everything was Delicious, and I will be heading back there soon to stock up on more pickles and mustard and will try my hardest to avoid the more fattening but oh so delicious treats.

Enjoy!

Love this store. The people are very friendly and helpful. They have just about anything you could want from Poland. They make kielbasa and stuffed cabbage on the weekends and have read-made kielbasa every day. So many different types of pierogies that you'll want to stock your freezer.

Someone gave me some homemade pierogies so of course you need some kielbasa to go with it. Everything was good but what was nice was how nice and helpful the people were. Oftentimes when you go into an ethnic food store and you're not that ethnicity you don't treated well.

We had bought some kielbasa after a tasting of 3 different ones. Some cokes and two sandwiches, kielbasa with mustard and one with kraut. The flavors were right, but the capusta was not hot or hot enough. My biggest grip was the amount of grisselle in my sandwich .

PSS If you ever find yourself in Poland and you check-in on Yelp, there is a badge for Poland.

so just to be clear: THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. i didn't get that from the reviews so I don't want anyone else to be misguided. that being said, i stocked up on pierogies!!! all different kinds, i believe, over 20. so far i have only cooked the potato and onion and they are yummilicious. i came on that famous polish day for punchkies, polish donuts, so naturally i had to try them. they were aight, i prefer regular donuts. the store is small but well supplied. the counter staff are very friendly and helpful parking is plentiful. but again ,THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. enjoy!

Oh, did I forget to mention the staff is friendly and helpful?

The ladies working there are very helpful, friendly and courteous. It is the best Polish place in the entire DC metropolitan area.

Tons of parking in front or back, but the back is all one level and seems handicap accessible.

so just to be clear: THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. i didn't get that from the reviews so I don't want anyone else to be misguided. that being said, i stocked up on pierogies!!! all different kinds, i believe, over 20. so far i have only cooked the potato and onion and they are yummilicious. i came on that famous polish day for punchkies, polish donuts, so naturally i had to try them. they were aight, i prefer regular donuts. the store is small but well supplied. the counter staff are very friendly and helpful parking is plentiful. but again ,THIS IS A GROCERY STORE NOT A RESTAURANT. enjoy!

What a find! A real ethnic deli in MoCo, the best kielbasa I have had in long time. Great products I was used to driving to VA . I am now a regular.
