My fiance, my mom and I went for a cake tasting with Cakes In Style and they are a must! Rob and Lucia are a husband and wife who are a great team! Lucia's cakes were delicious! She offered cake flavors that other places don't even let you try or don't even offer for a cake tasting. Prior to the tasting, Lucia and I had a conversation over the phone and she was very easy to talk to. Rob was the one that sat with us and asked our details of the wedding. He was patient, nice, offered his suggestions and was excited with our design and concept. He is the baker while Lucia put the cake together and decorates. Rob drew out the cake plan and once we were done, we got to taste the cakes Lucia prepared for us. They are most and soooo tasty! You can definitely taste the flavor of the cake and not just the filling. We are currently working out our cake plan with them still, but every communication has been a pleasant one. They seem to be very accommodating and offer other options that can work with our budget. Your cake shouldn't only look good, they have to taste good. The people that bake and make your cake is important. The person baking your cake or designing should be the one you are speaking with when you are ordering. The way they treat you and careful with you before your actual wedding and even before you sign a contract will tell you a lot. You will trust that on the day of your wedding-- the cake won't be something you worry about. Trust me, we went on about 5 other cake tastings and Cakes In Style was our last one and even though their price is slightly higher-- the quality of service and the taste of the cake go hand in hand!

This was my first experience with Cakes in Style. My sister was having a baby shower and the theme was Jungle. The cake we ordered was BEAUTIFUL. Better than expected. Above and beyond! But the taste was subpar and the guests at the shower thought that the cake was old. I had to apologize and made a joke that at least it was pretty. I ordered a vanilla and marble flavors. The marble tasted better but was still not as tasty as the box mix cupcakes we made. Perhaps we ordered plain flavors and that's why the cake was bland? In any case. I was overall happy with my order and will order from them again and will choose different flavors. Great folks and the cake was stunning!

I contacted Cakes in Style as I saw they on their gallery, some Korean first birthday (dol) cakes. I ordered a cake topper and at the party, it was a hit! (see pictures) and the details to the toppers was excellent. The cupcakes were very good and not too sweet. I recommend this place for anyone looking to get custom cakes.

Absolutely awesome! In 2010 I decided to have a "Double Sweet Sixteen" birthday party since I was unable to travel out of town for my yearly birthday trip. I found Cakes in Style by chance and headed over there with 3 other folks to do a cake tasting and see what all the hoopla was about when it comes to custom cakes. I met with Lucia who gave us at least 4 different flavors to sample then she sat and drew out the design and shoe I wanted for my cake. The cake was delivered BEFORE I even arrived to my party (and I'm usually a pretty timely person) and when I finally cut into it, the cake tasted exactly like my favorite treat - HOSTESS ORANGE CUPCAKES (may Hostess rest in peace...). Even the fondant was pretty tasty and I usually dislike fondant. I liked Lucia's work so much that my fiancee and I are contemplating checking her out again for our wedding cake/mini cakes. All in all very pleasant experience and I hope she can make this cake as, or even MORE, memorable as the last one.

I ordered my cake for my baby shower and I'm so happy with the results they work with my budget and what I wanted. I also got the cake pops and they were amazing. Rob was great to work with and Lucia did and amazing job I love the flavor and the design I will come here again!!!!

We used Cakes in Style for our wedding cake. The whole experience was wonderful! My husband and I set up a cake tasting with Cakes in Style and one other bakery. We were blown away by the quality and flavor of Lucia's cakes. There is a vast selection of flavor combinations to choose from, and Lucia was really helpful in narrowing it down for us. We ultimately went with coconut cake with pineapple mousse filling and lemon cake with whipped cream and fresh berry filling. We did a simple vanilla butter cream frosting topped with fresh berries. (It was a 3-tier cake). We LOVED the look AND taste of the cake. We also got several compliments from friends and family that it was the best wedding cake they ever had. And this is coming from some friends who recently got married themselves. Cakes in Style was slightly more expensive than the other bakery we tried, but the flavor and quality was truly worth it. Lucia is very easy to work with - very responsive to phone and email. The other great thing was we didn't have to give a final head count until pretty close to the party. We started with an estimate of 80 people, but we changed it to 65 a couple of weeks before the party with no problem - and the price went down :) I would recommend them for any special ocassion. If we ever need another cake, we will be going back to Lucia!

Previous reviewer hit the nail on the head. Amazing people to work with. If you are looking for a custom cake in the area this is THE place to go. Not only do you get gorgeous modernly designed cakes, they are affordable. We used Cakes in Style for our wedding cake. They delivered the cake right on time and everyone raved about how delicious it was and how beautiful. It was the talk of the wedding. We now use them annually to celebrate my daughters birthdays. LOVE this local family owned company.
