resist the temptation. The prices are low and I found this place using and app on my phone the service was awful the food had no taste and had not been seasoned. The chicken wings literally had been dropped in old grease with nothing on them and the shrimp was the same way. on a Friday evening happy hour there were approximately 50 guest there was 1 waitress and 1 bartender for the entire place. They had all you can eat shrimp and it took over 30 minutes between plates.

Just great. Totally dive. And I love a real dive spot. Mostly all regulars and the drinks are awesome.

This place is totally a local, neighborhood dive, super cheap, and is a total throwback to old Prince George's. Very friendly and if you want a break from the total professional vibe of Busboys a quarter mile up the road in Hyattsville, this is your place. Lots of cheap bear, lots of good seafood. I'm a vegetarian so this was definetly not my place, but their pizza was decent. Most worth it for the people-watching and karaoke.

Wings are good. Its a bar that's full of regulars. Cheap liquor, chill atmosphere. Karaoke on Tuesdays. Kelly and Molly are amazing bartenders. I've had more than a few drunken nights here. :)))

ah. the S&J. I have to give it 4 stars because it was definitely one of the most fun nights I ever had living in DC. This is the spankin' image of a dive. it's out in nowheresville, MD and across the street from the local "blues club" (aka a place where people with banjos and guitars get together and worship utah philips. no haterade in that comment. he's my friend's dad and I like his music.). While waiting for my apartment to be made ready for me, my landlord let me sublet his girlfriend's place out there in Riverdale. I saw this place advertising "free wifi" and thought, hey...I don't have internet at home, I'll try it. I don't think they've ever seen an asian person before or something but people looked at me funny. "don't get much of your kind, in these parts!" someone actually said that to me...anyways, it turns out, they don't actually even remember the passcode to their wifi so I just tried to leave, but people kept coming up to me to ask me where I was from...awkward. I would have run away and never come back, but there just happens to be karaoke nights on saturdays. I have a terrible weakness for karaoke. So I invited my friend out to explore it with me. (honestly, I was a little frightened to go by myself.) Josh and I, frankly, tore the place up. The regulars, although very curious about me, were very nice and very welcoming. They all introduced themselves one by one to figure us out. But by the end of the night, we were asked to join them at their bonfire, asked if we needed anything, given phone numbers, and welcomed back. DJ smurf and his boys really know how to do their thing, and if anyone is out looking for a great time in Riverdale/Hyattsville, Maryland...now you know where to go.

Country music, comfortable booths, nice bowl of chili and a beer... biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Great atmosphere; most people seem to come for the booze and good company. Food's good too though, and cheap.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant/ bar. They have great deals on drinks, and the food is classic American food. The people at this place are great. There are basically two groups of people--some sort of young urban professionals, who prefer life away from the madness that is DC, and older folks, who are out for good times with friendly company. The place feels like when you stay at home and have a group of friends over. In fact, at the risk of being cliché, the place is like Cheers; it's the place where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. There's a good balance on the sort of people who go there, all good people; and, there's also diversity, which is always nice. The waiting service is great! Tuesdays and Saturdays are karaoke nights. Been there on Saturdays: love it!
