Jerry’s Place

Jerry's Place is happy homey family owned restaurant! My friends and I stopped here on the way back from Calvert Cliffs, and we were blown away by the hospitality of Jerry and family! Jerry walks around giving everyone free samples of whatever's good that day. On Saturday, it was the haddock and soft shell crabs. I got a platter of the crab cake and the haddock. The crab cake was pure crab, and it was delicious! For the sides, I got the kale and a corn salad. Corn salad wasn't very good (canned corn, I think), but the kale was delicious (who doesn't love bacon kale?). The decor is amazing! There are faces of people in various garb painted all over the restaurant. When we asked about it, our waitress said that they have a special artist who paints the faces of regular customers and locals for $100/face. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but I know that I will! Next time I have the opportunity to pass Jerry's on the road, I'll be sure to stop by. Excited for my next visit!
We have been here many times and have always had a great meal. I pass too many restaurants to count to get here. And it's always worth the drive. The owner and family are there most of the time and make you feel more than welcomed. You feel like the only client or an expected friend dropping in for dinner. Some of the best customer service in the business. I never have to ask for anything. I got low on onion rings on my last visit and with out any hesitation Jerry comes back to my table with just a few more onion rings and says " just wanna make sure your full". I have not experience better hospitality anywhere. The menu is simple and there are no average dishes. All are great. I'll start with the crab cakes. Not much breading and seasoned near perfection. A must try. The haddock is a good choice I'd like to recommend if you have tried the crab cake. The granddad crab cake is more than enough for three people. Stewed tomatoes remind me of my grandmothers. Just the right amount of sweetness. The wait staff is great! They are glad to be there and it shows. My kids love the caricatures of all the patrons on the walls. Thanks to the whole Jerry's Family!Just a great place! Wish I lived closer still. This is a must try. You will love it!
No matter what I write you cannot begin to understand the experience of coming to Jerry's Place until you actually experience it! But I will do my best... Me and my husband recently moved to Maryland from San Diego, due to my husband being in the military. We arrived in town on a Tuesday & ate here Wednesday night. We were tired of fast food on the road trip and needed a real meal. We could not have chosen a better place. We walked in the door & were greeted by Jerry Jr in his famous red hat! I told him we had never been here and just moved from California. He hollered over to his dad Jerry to let him know we were first timers. He immediately came over and greeted us, welcomed us, and started calling over samples for us to try. I have to say I have never enjoyed kale so much...ever. The samples kept coming of a few different sides and an entree as well. We ordered the casino oysters (amazing)! And then the Fresh Haddock, crab cakes, and scallops that we ended up all sharing! Every single bite was better than the last delicious! The best part of eating here besides the food was the atmosphere!! The whole crew here welcomed us to Maryland better than we could have ever hoped! Other customers sitting next to us heard we were from San Diego and started chatting. I am in love with this place! Jerry came back throughout the meal to check on us and make sure we were 100% happy! By the time dinner was over drinks were on Jerry and I was amazed at the hospitality these people showed us! I have never been to a place like this & what a great first experience for our new lives on the east coast! I could not possibly recommend this place enough!! Incredible!! Thanks guys!!

I have been to Nagoya MANY times since it opened and I will 100% continue going. The staff is very friendly and your drink will never sit empty. Depending on when you go, you may have a bit of wait because it is very popular seeing as it's the only sushi joint in the area. Lunch is normally always a good bet and they do have a bunch of lunch specials such as special rolls only served then or 2/3 rolls + soup or salad for a very good price. First off, I've gotten general tso chicken twice and loved it each time. It's always very hot which is a good sign and tastes amazing. Besides that, I always get 2-4 sushi raw and cooked rolls. I know my favorites but I always try to step outside the box. The only reason why I only gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes the rolls are not made the best. I still eat them, they are still good but they fall apart as soon as you pick them up. Besides that, I love it. They have so many sushi options as well as anything else you could think of. The crab rangoons are great. Quick service, friendly faces and very good food are the reasons why I will keep going to Nagoya.
Perhaps the best Sushi place I've yet had the pleasure of visiting, and I am a big Sushi fan. They have a large menu with a multitude of choices. They border on artistic in both the presentation and deliciousness of their Sushi Rolls. The fish was fresh and flavorful. The portions large. The service is great. The seaweed salad was delicious. They have no liquor license but you can order Saki "On The House" and it was good and smooth. Not sure how that worked out on our bill and I didn't ask because it was "on the house". Visit Nagoya Asian Bistro and try the Black Dragon Roll. An all around wonderful experience.
Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. Read some reviews prior to choosing to come here, and since most were very we decided to give it a try. Upon entering, i noticed that it was very clean and inviting. The hostess' were very nice and seated us immediately. Our server was over quickly to get drink orders. He was very nice and attentive to us. Overall, the service there was awesome!!! We had the bacon shrimp appetizer and the Japanese style shrimp dumplings ( can't remember the name of it ). The bacon shrimp were super and tasty ( although would have preferred the bacon be hot ). The shrimp "dumplings" were good but the texture was a bit squishy, which my wife was not a fan of. For me though, they were ok, as I can overlook the texture a bit. For meals, we had the shrimp lo mein and the bulgogi. The lo mein was ok, but it tasted like the flavor was that of a spice pack from a ramen package. The bulgogi however was awesome. It was like a Korean fajita..... It was served like a fajita on a sizzling platter and was full of meat, onions and peppers. It came with white rice and lettuce to make lettuce wraps if you wanted to. I would definitely order it again. The reoccurring theme for lunch was texture. The dumplings, cold bacon, bulgogi meat all had a soft and squishy texture, which can be a bit off-putting. The portions of the entrees were very nice. You definitely get enough!!! Overall, it is a solid 4 stars. If they can fix the texture issues I would give it 5 stars easily !!!!! I will surely go there again, but doubt my wife will since she really didn't like the textures.

Came here after an awful experience at the nearby I-hop. The kids and I had a great time drinking our drinks (kids didn't have coffee). The staff was amazing. They smiled and laughed with us. They were also extremely knowledgeable about the area and helped us plan our day. I have to say for a chain coffee shop, this little gem reminded me of a small town cafe.
Comparing this store to the Lusby one really emphasizes how good this one is! The employees are fast and friendly. The store is clean and although it's kind of poorly organized (lines longer than a couple people get complicated), the experience is consistently pleasant. We usually go on a weekend morning and never have to wait long. Drinks are always correct (although I saw another customer get an incorrect one...his drink was too large!). Coffee is good quality, like Starbucks usually is. If you have the choice between this location and Lusby, go here.
A small stand-alone Starbucks (as opposed to one in a supermarket). This location has the usual menu of drinks and sandwiches. They do not have a drive-through. Their internet connection did not work for me on either my phone or my laptop.

An odd combination of Asian and Southern menu items but it works. Great fried chicken and sides. I'll have to go back and try the hibachi steak. Fast, friendly service.
It was okay. Order the 3 chicken tender and 3 fish combo. I thought the fish was going to be bigger but it was ok size. Actually the friend fish was way better than the chicken tenders so I'm happy I didn't just get chicken. The mac n cheese was way too cheesy as you can see in the pictures. The biscuit looks over cooked but it was actually pretty good and I'm not a big bread eater. Place was clean, staff was professional so I give it a C+.
The restaurant has a nice local restaurant feel. The fried food was amazing! It taste better than KFC and rivals Popeye's. However I did have a glance into the kitchen and noticed that their sides are not from scratch by from canned. Even they use the Gloria canned foods I feel like if they can put as much effort into their sides as they do with their chicken then this would be famous. I do love the fact that they also serve Japanese hibachi foods b/c I used their yum yum sauce with my friend liver and gizards. If you're in the area and want to stay away from chains then this is the place to go.

Ate here for a late lunch today. Since I have eaten at previous restaurants of the same name, I was expecting good food. Of course it was! I also liked the themed walls and fan display. I am really glad my money wasn't wasted.

I really wanted to like this place! I really did, and although I'm giving it a 3 stars, I probably will try something else next time I want breakfast. I may go back to try it for lunch. That said, we went for Sunday brunch and as soon as I walked in I noticed a dying roach just inside the doorway on its back still wiggling its legs. I was picturing what the kit hen must look like. Ordering and paying at the counter was ok I guess but I'd prefer to be seated and waited on in the morning, especially if I haven't yet had my coffee. That said, I really didn't like the self serve coffee station they had set up. The tables are pretty close together so it's not an easy task to walk over to that area, between dining customers, pour your coffee and walk back without spilling it on someone. Since it was my first time here, I didn't really realize how everything was set up at first so I asked for some coffee and a stressed and rushed lady barked at me, "Coffee's coming!" I later realized they were out and brewing more. As soon as they came out with a new canister of coffee, people started lining up, which makes you feel like you're intruding on the personal space of dining customers, seated next to the station. When I got my turn to get some coffee, I found the hutch it was located on was really dusty up where the mugs were located and they were already out of coffee again. I asked the lady again if it could be filled and she seemed flustered. After finally getting my coffee and getting settled in, the food came and boy were the portion sizes ENORMOUS. I got the banana pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. The eggs were fine. The pancakes were really bad though. There were three HUGE pancakes on a giant plate coupled with about 2 tablespoons of syrup on the side in a little cup. I tried to get a server's attention about needing more syrup but after tasting the pancakes, I soon realized no amount of syrup could make me eat them. They weren't horrible I guess, they were just dense, dry, tasteless and rubbery. My mother in law got eggs with a meat and home fries and seemed to like hers. If you go, I strongly recommend getting eggs and bacon and not the pancakes. Drink your coffee before you go! I wasn't very fond of the ambiance and crowded seating. I'd probably rather eat at the dirty chain restaurant, Bob Evans. It's sad because I'd rather support local businesses but this one just isn't set up very intelligently.
I think we all know how hard REAL and tasty food is to come by in this area. I took my 2 little guys here for lunch and was very happy with my salad (the best anywhere south of Annapolis!). Finally, a place I can go and enjoy food! Real food! Not the processed, fatty, fake, salty stuff you get at most other "order at the counter" restaurants in northern Calvert. My 5 and 6 year old boys shared the mini burgers and fries, and it was plenty. The burgers were DELICIOUS, juicy, flavorful, and came on a great bun. I'll be back for sure!
Crispy Rockfish BLT (tuesday's special) was an amazing! A great value for $9.95, two big strips of fish with plenty of bacon. It was served with a huge serving of slaw, which was just the right addition for extra juiciness and flavor to top the sandwich with. Otherwise it would have been too dry, and I would have asked for some salad dressing to drizzle on it. This place has friendly service, a local feel, and lots and lots of seating.

This is your standard chipotle style restaurant. You walk in and go to the right to and walk to the green wall by the counter to begin your order. The ingredients always seem fresh. One time I got a chicken bowl and there was a bone in it. No big deal, After showing them the bone (size of a nickel) they took it off the bill and made me another one.
We loved this place! Great place for quick Mexican food! Everything was fresh. The nachos were loaded up high and very tasty. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was very clean! Wish there was one closer to us! Will definitely go again. Highly reccomend!
Salsarita's is another in the theme of assembly line "mission-style burrito" where you pick your style (bowl, burrito, nachos, quesadilla), pick your protein, rice, beans, toppings and you're good to go. If the crew is good, the line moves very quickly. Eat in or to go, I got a burrito bowl to go with chicken and pinto beans plus hot salsa (not that hot), corn salsa, tomatoes, sour cream and cilantro. Maybe it wasn't the healthiest of possible options (they do a vegetarian option, too), but it felt good to have something that wasn't beef and wasn't fried. Filling!

Great pizza and calzones they always know how to cook a pizza when you ask for it well done they come out cooked very good and never burnt
I'm the idiot that went to an Italian place with a big sign out front "pizza and pasta" and I chose a Cuban sandwich. I don't know what I was thinking. Why didn't I have something Italian? Anyway, the sandwich was mostly okay even if it was the worst copy of a Cubano that I've had in ever. Too much mustard and not enough meat. And since when does shredded lettuce go on a Cuban sandwich? But the fries were good and hot. Next time, I'd try something Italian. My colleague had the chicken parm with pasta and marinara sauce. He said it was good.
Ledo's......Nice friendly staff. Food was good and facilities clean. I would go back and recommend.

It's some of thee best sushi around. We've been going to this Sakura for 6 years now. The fish is high quality and fresh. The sushi chefs John and Peter are friendly and engaging. The price for sushi is spot on. We have never done the Teppanyaki (steel grill at a group table) at Sakura. This style of cooking as entertainment is more expensive everywhere that its offered. I'd give Sakura five stars if it appeared a bit cleaner with a spiffed up decor and restroom rehab. The sushi is awesome here!
Horrible service! The cross eyed chef was so weird, I asked for a beer and it took a while to get I never was offered a second one. I ordered a few rolls, my dirty plates were never removed so I kept pushing them off to the side. Long story short terrible service, ok food. I'm not sure if that is the standard for this area but back home in Chicago, service is key!
Almost every time I drive through Prince Frederick, I eat here. I love the Prince Frederick roll.
