We have been coming to Lista's since they opened their place in Pasadena. It is an intimate and unique restaurant with quaint southwestern decor. The food is fantastic, and they have recurring specials on their menu that feature some of my favorite Lista's dishes. The Steak relleno is my favorite. The service is excellent too. George, our waiter is attentive and completely knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. Take a drive out to Pasadena and enjoy some traditional southwestern fare. It will be worth the trip.

Fantastic food and staff that seem to genuinely love serving you. The owners are present and incredibly gracious. The bathroom was spotless! The decor is kitschy in the best way. I was introduced to Lista's about five years ago by a boyfriend. The Dud is gone but I gained a new favorite, local restaurant. Margaritas are fabulous and freshly made. The entrees are large enough to afford two serving. This place can do no wrong in my opinion.

I had never had a problem with your place before, in fact I thought it was good and ordered the same menu item. However, this time I had to send my steak back multiple times and the food was not good..and the shrimp did not taste fresh. I wrote this review so you could fix this problem and make sure other people do not have an experience like mine. I was very upset having to leave hungry after sending my food back multiple times. Other than that you have a neat atmosphere and very friendly staff.

We've been going there for years and they consistently prove themselves. It's one of our favorite little getaways. The food is always spot on, and the service is hard to beat (if you have the chance, ask for Victor). Love their fajitas (and I'm somewhat of a fajita buff). Love their salsa. Love the Santa Fe stacked enchiladas. Love the steak reilleno - doesn't strike me to order a steak when sneaking out for Mexican, but let me save you the deliberation... it's awesome! Love the Coronas (that doesn't really count does it? They just seem to taste better there.) A little loud? Yup. That's part of what we expect (and enjoy) when we choose to go there - the music is always "off the wall," not what you'd expect in an authentic Mexican restaurant, and we love it. A little pricey? Yup. I believe you get what you pay for. I am not making a career out of dining out. For the obsessive whiners, you're more than welcome to slap a Patio Burrito (do they still make those?) in the microwave to save a buck, but for those of you who enjoy great food, great atmosphere, great service and are looking for authentic Mexican dishes this place is well worth it.

So we stopped in Lista's Grill a mom and pop local restaurant with a Mexican theme managed and owned by an Anglo local Pasadena lady. I had salmon with garlic and it was delicious, one of the best I ever had. My wife and daughter were pleased with the Mexican food even if there was no employee in this place remotely related to the Mexico. We sat in the bar for a while and the staff was friendly and efficient. We always get awesome service every where we go. Maybe I have low expectations, ha, ha. I could care less if the food is authentically Mexican or not. We had a positive experienced and the food tasted good. Highly recommended.

Had dinner at Lista's last night. We dined outside because it was absolutely gorgeous out. We had a the chili con queso for an appetizer which was delicious with the chips. I ordered the chicken Fajitas which were lacking that Mexican 'KICK". There was a lack of flavoring but a nice char grilled touch to the chicken and peppers. My boo felt the same way about her streak fajita burrito. We both love Mexican and we were looking forward to that spicy but this place missed the mark there. We've never had to add salt and pepper to Mexican but these dishes required both. The sangria was great though. Honestly from a business standpoint I can't be mad at the owner. It's in the perfect location to capture the folks they cater to and Mexican restaurants are few and far between in this area. I can at least say I've experienced the "Tex-Mex" here but from now on I'll go with what I know and love: MI PUEBLO I!!!!!

Lista's is one of my most enjoyable places to eat; besides mother's home cooking. I have been going to Lista's for years. Everyone still greets me when I walk in the door and if I have a guest they come and introduce themselves. I really enjoy the Pork Shank; cooked to perfection as the meat falls off of the bone. Some people comment on the prices, but there aren't many places left which put as much heart and soul into the restaurant, serve great and unique foods and have a stellar staff.

Came in on a Saturday at 8pm and was given a table immediately. Our server was Zach...Zakk....Zak? I dont know. But he was great. Wife and I ordered margaritas and I could not discern if they were made from a mix not. Its going to have to take me another drink to find out. I like the idea. Its a Tex Mex restaurant with a Chesapeake bay spin on things by using local seafood to their advantage. Garlic shrimp as an appetiser and was suprised by great butterflied shrimp with an overwhelming garlic taste. Crab and asparagus enchiladas tasted good and my wife liked her burrito. I like this place. The owners walk around and check to make sure everything is going smoothly. Not a chain so they are doing it because they sincerely care if you like their food. My wife is already a fan and I plan on coming back.

Really enjoyed this place. Atmosphere very nice--casual and nicely decorated. I've been wanting to try Lista's since it was in Baltimore and finely got around to it. Loved my crabcake and everyone at my table liked their food. I can tell why they are known for their garlic shrimp--it was outstanding! Waiter was just the nicest guy, completely attentive without being there too much. Service was very good. We'll definitely be returning! PS The parmesan pepper (I think) salad dressing was out of this world! Yum!

I have been frequenting Lista's since they were located in Fells Point, Baltimore. Was I ever so happy when Fells Point got too expensive for them and they moved right around the corner from where I live. Thier menu is an eclectic mix of traditional mexican/tex mex and specials that I could only categorize as well, yummy. It is not a huge place, but can keep up with the demands of its' location. My daughter cannot go there without getting the Bean Dip appetizer. It is a mix of smooth refried beans, red and green chili salsas and melted cheese on the top. It is served with hearty tortilla chips and on occasion something that is more akin to deep fried unleavened bread. It is a great starter to go with your margarita. Speaking of the margaritas, they are nothing to write home about, but I can never resist and they come in small, medium and insanely large. I have been a huge fan of their Salsa Verde Enchiladas since day one. They are more spicy than most can take, but I have them about half the time I go. The Steak Relleno, which is a skirt steak wrapped around a bunch of spicy goodness is another dish that I have trouble avoiding. I can think of nothing there that I have not enjoyed. Their Mole (which is not a standard part of the menu but a frequent special) is wonderful. Rich and spicy with a chili flavor that is to die for. Portions are very generous and in most cases we have something to take home for lunch the next day. My family is hooked and they even have chicken tenders for the picky boy (such a shame). They do not have booster seats and I would not recommend it for the wee ones, but once the boy was able to occupy a chair on his own, the frequency of our visits increased. The menu is a bit dumbed down for the locals, but the specials generally fill the gap. The decor is bright and lively. Everything is painted in vibrant colors and the theme is definitely southwestern. It is run by Ruben and his wife, whose name is escaping me ay the moment. Ruben does all the cooking and his wife is a great host. This is by far the most authentic "real food" restaurant in Pasadena, a town that is starving for good fare. In this current economy and limited budgets for eating out, my wife and I decided that Listas would be the one place we would definitely continue to support. We always bring the checkbook when we go. They make an impassioned request to pay with cash or check so as to avoid the percentage the credit card companies charge for the convenience, and we are more than happy to oblige. At least 10 years and counting, and I foresee no reason to stop frequenting this wonderful place.

Lista's is a great restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly, and more often than not, we go there because of the close-knit family-like atmosphere that the owners and staff have. It is always a positive and enjoyable experience. We have been here a great number of times, and we have always had great service and well-prepared food. They have specials that rotate new items, which is always a great thing to keep us on our toes. Also, the green chile is AMAZING; some of the best in the area.

One of my favorite southwestern places. I've went there for years and I love it. Their cowboy burrito is massive and great. Fajitas are top notch. I love their verde chicken (so spicy!) and whenever I can get sweet potato fries here I do. Their drinks are huge and fun, and best of all: fried ice cream. Don't go here without getting it!

Wow, looking at some of these reviews could seriously scare you away from this place, but don't let that happen. You would be better off going to Taco Bell? Seriously, after that sentence you should stop reviewing restaurants. Anyway, the service was extremely friendly and fast, the crab dip was awesome, and my ribs were fall off the bone tender and scrumptious (I know, not Mexican but they sounded great). My wife had the steak fajitas which were also pretty good. The steak was cooked perfectly, and wasn't the rubbery steak you get at most mexican places. I was really impressed with everything about this place, but the prices were a little steep if I had to pick something to complain about. The dishes average out at around $20 a plate, but you do get quality to back up the price. Go to Lista's, you'll be glad you ignored the ignorant people who gave this place one star, just like I was.

Its a great quirky restaurant. Decor is interesting. The last time i was there, the room that i was seated in had christmas trees up, sort of in the rafters area-- i distinctly remember that i likened the decorations to Paper Moon in Baltimore.. not quite as weird or garish, but that is what the decorations reminded me of. Maybe it is closer to Golden West in Hamden. Decorations aside, this review is suppose to be about the food.. so here goes: I love love love the chips and salsa. Yes the entrees are a bit pricy, vegetarian quesadillas were close to 20$, but that is what a normal entree would be at most restaurants. The crab and asparagus enchiladas ($17) were an interesting take on enchiladas-- more like a liquid-y crab dip over a crabcake with a couple of spears of asparagus. It was good, but not quite what i had pictured in my head i guess. Service this time around was a bit slow. The waitress came by got our drink orders, got the orders, and checked on us perhaps once after we got the food. When we were ready to leave, she was no where to be found, had to wave her over to get the check. But, overall still a good experience.

I'll start with, we've been to Lista's before. It was alright to pretty good then. Last night, was strange. First of all, a medium marguarita shouldn't not be the size of ones head. Ice melted so fast the drink was a watery mess. This is where it gets weird to me: appetizer, macho nachno's was super huge. Like gargantual. We didn't eat even a quarter of it, we were stuffed. Then our entree came. My husbsand ordered the crab cake, it came with fries. He brought it home. I ordered a mex-platter, it was served on ( I kid you not) a turkey platter! It too came home. The food reheated was ok ( fries never reheat well) and now, most of my platter is left. It may have been good, but I would rather pay less money and get less food and enjoy my evening out. The mass quantity just messed up the whole experience. I'll head to El Salto the next time.

Food is good, atmosphere is unique, however the lack of child accommodations is shocking. As a parent with an 18 month old I can not understand why they would not have high chairs or boosters available. This is especially of concern around a place that frequently serves fajitas on sizzling platters. I will not return until my children are of an age where a bout of squirmyness is not a safety concern. This is a shame because it is one of the nicer restaurants in the area. See you in about 5 years Lista's.

I go to Lista's as often as I can, it's my favorite place in the Pasadena area. It's a great little neighborhood place, and the food is excellent. Anything with steak is good, particularly the burritos. It is a kid-friendly place, except that they don't have high chairs. We bring a booster seat with us when we come.

We have been twice (my family of 5+) and have enjoyed everything we've eaten. I'd say it's 4 star food with 6 star service. The prices were a little high BUT the food was good and they had possibly the best staff of any restraunt ever! True the food may not be the quality of Mexican I could get in SoCal but for real, the staff is amazing and it has quickly become our favorite local spot.

Best mexican food in Pasadena that I know of... Expensive though and not a kid friendly place. Staff is very nice and attentive!

The chips and salsa were pretty good, along with the Sangria. Unfortunately, I would recommend nothing else. The food is over-priced and not up to snuff with regards to places you would visit in Texas. I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed if it didn't claim to have been influenced by places in Texas.

Lista's used to be a **** restaurant, and was so consistently as recently as a year or so ago. Since then, they have changed their menu, apparently fired a few cooks, and have basically destroyed what used to be an awesome restaurant. Lista's retains its quirky personality that made it a local landmark, with its snarky marquee postings on its large outdoor sign, unique decor and outgoing wait staff. The drinks are still decent, if not completely over priced by about 200%. The food has become the single largest disappointment--if the food isn't there, nothing else matters. I ordered a "cowboy burrito" my last time there (after not being able to find ANY of my usual LISTA's favorites on their 'new and improved menu), and was disgusted to find that they covered it with what appeared to be straight-out-of-the-jar supermarket gravy. Needless to say, it was disgusting. I didn't even have them box it for me. I got two bites into it and that was enough. I should have expected that after their 'new and improved' salsa failed to inspire, their most famous appetizer (garlic shrimp) failed to live up to previous cooks versions and even the chips were bad. Sigh. Lista's, what happened to you?! Your newly expanded "American Fare" section tells me that the word got out about where to find the best mexican in the Pasadena-Glen Burnie Area: MI PUEBLO! But honestly, in your price range, if I wanted steamed crabs, I would go to Sea Side in Pasadena; if I wanted cream of crab soup I would go to Bella Napoli in Pasadena; and if I wanted anything else in the world I would go to Romano's on Ritchie Highway! The staff at Lista's is still not notch. They are kind, attentive, and fussed over us since it has been forever since we have last visited their establishment. Unfortunately, it will be forever before we visit again.

The best Mexican food I've ever had in this area, and I've lived here my whole life. Four stars because I've had better in other parts of the country, but not much better. My only less-than-great comment would be on the margaritas. Too much mix, not enough tequila. My table had two Monsteritas and two mediums, and they all had the same issue. Jennifer G's review is obviously an outlier here, and personally, I think she should just stick with pizza. The complimentary salsa was fresh and flavorful. The queso we had was great. I liked my combo so much my stomach almost exploded while I tried to finish it. The other three people in my party all loved their meals as well, and the pickiest eater actually took her leftovers home . . . and ate them the next day! Victor was our server. He was very attentive and added just enough humor to the experience to add value without being annoying. The guy that delivered my wife some extra tortillas (not Victor) called them quesadillas, silly gringo. But other than that, we were all extremely happy and will be introducing our other friends to Lista's in the future.

I am so grateful when I find something in suburbia that is not an Olive Garden or Chevy's or Applebees. This cute little restaurant is in good ole' Dena, where I grew up, much to my dismay. Anyway, the specials are usually very good - fresh fish, and delicious drinks. When you go out for Mexican, it all comes down to the margaritas, right? Margaritas + guacamole = happiness.

Overpriced and gross. We ate here based on reviews and were very disappointed. Sadly I don't think people in MD know what good mexican food is.

Kept driving by, meaning to try it... but fearing Yet Another Bitter Disappointment In Baltimore's Horrid Attempts At Mexican (YABDIBHAAM! - it'll enter the popular lexicon any day now)... bracing myself, we finally tried it. We'll be back. Very, very odd menu -- Steak, seafood, crab cakes (seriously... crab cakes? Not every restaurant in San Francisco serves sourdough bread and fabulous style -- no reason to put crab in everything here... sheesh!), which seemed out of character with the decor and name. But amidst the disorganized jumble... burritos! Fajitas! Guacamole! Guardedly optimistic based on the self-proclaimed "southwestern" descriptions -- and, thus, the inherent acknowledgment that not all burritos are the same -- we gave it a shot. First off - guacamole. Holy crap, a restaurant that puts all the Sins Against Avo-god-os on the side! Someone, at some point, said, "you know what, if those idiots want crap fouling their guac, they can put it in themselves" -- and I heartily approve! A gigantic bowl of decent-quality (for the east coast) avocados, with a side container of peppers, lime and salsa for those foolish enough to think doctoring avocadoliciousness is a good idea. Tossing those aside (and adding a bit of salt), we were thrilled with the results. Warning: You could probably get the guac and a couple of drinks and call it a dinner. It was a significant serving. Not that I'm complaining. Maybe we got lucky, or the new guy was on mashin' detail and over-served, but we were thrilled. Then came the fajitas and burrito. A fine burrito... in the southwestern sense. Meat, more meat, and meat in the sauce on top. Not a Cali burrito, but apply your own value judgment there. Chocolate and vanilla and all. If you're a fan of the all-meat-and-only-meat style, you'll be very happy here -- very good flavor, very well made. The fajitas? Fine. Not spectacular, but not bad. Better than [insert gigantic chain here], as I am quite sure they weren't defrosted and microwaved like [yeah that chain] does, but I'm not a huge fajita fan... boring maybe? Unfortunately, that's about it for the Mexican side of the menu, and that's a bitter disappointment in itself! Based on the quality of the burrito and guac, I'd have _loved_ to try a good mole or other dish, as other reviewers hinted used to exist. Bummer. Heck, if it takes serving generic predictable food to stay in business (and it may well take that in this neck of the woods), good for Lista's for doing what it takes: Move the bulk junk to keep the good stuff available to those who need it. I just wish the authentic southwestern side was better represented. Of course, I'm finding I can't leave any mexican/southwest/etc restaurant without some disappointment... and in this case, it was the margaritas. They sucked. Royal suckage as only bad mix and carelessness can suck. Too bad, given the tastiness and promise of the guacamole. But, like crab cakes and steaks, maybe crap-mix-'margaritas' are necessary to keep the larger portion of the crowd happy. Hey, Lista's: How about a choice on the menu? "Mix margaritas... for people who like fast food and cheap bar drinks made with well liquor and heavy on the cheap mixes" *and* "Magaritas Tradicionales, for those who understand a good margarita should taste like good tequila, lime and cointreau"? Pretty please? We'll be back, for sure. (But we may sneak in a traveler of Cazadores.)

  • Paul S.

The food was by no means bad and I would normally have given it , if not 4 stars but the prices were ridiculous. For half the price you can eat just as good of Meixcan food (if not better and a little more authenthic), at Los Portales in Linthicum or Plaza Garibaldi or Mi Pueblo in Glen Burnie. I mean I suppose it's ''hipper'' and more charming than those spots, but if I wanted a place like that I'd go to Annapolis or Baltimore... and I live in Pasadena. Not bad, but unless you don't mind getting ripped off, not worth it.

I went there to meet friends and have a drink. I really liked the atmosphere; it is a good place to socialize with friends. I only had a Margarita and it was made from a mix, so that was disappointing. The wait staff was very friendly. I liked it and would go back simply as a place to hang out.

I really love this place. The food, decor, the sangria. I did notice when people brought their kids in that there were no high chairs or boosters. Then read another review, that I hope is false, that children are not welcomed. I sure hope it's not true because the owners appear so nice.

    (4)
  • Holly B.

CHILDREN NOT WELCOME AT LISTA'S. Lista's Grill in Pasadena, Maryland does not want your children in their restaurant, in fact you might just be asked to leave if you bring one to eat here! Not even joking. If there was less than 1 star it would be more accurate for this rating. Just had the most HORRIBLE experience ever at Lista's Grill in Pasadena, Maryland! We tried to have dinner there tonight and were turned away because I have a baby. My husband and I were told by the "owner" Kathryn Evangelista that we needed to go stand outside in the pouring down rain with an infant to wait on a table, although there were several open tables available. When I asked how long the wait time was Kathryn told me it was going to be a long time and we "needed to go outside" (all the outdoor furniture had been taken away due to rain, so there was no where to "go"). After we were told to go outside (no one else was asked to go outside,) I inquired as to what "a long time" would be to which Kathryn replied that we needed to leave and that she did not want our business. I was completely shocked so I asked for the manager and she told us she is the owner and that we needed to "go" because she "did not want us as customers" ---while the whole dining room looked on! You should have been honest Kathy and said that you don't allow children or that you don't have a single high chair in the whole building ! Hmm maybe this needs to be investigated further by the County? Obviously children are not welcome at Listas and the owner has no concern over humiliating her customers in front of others for no good reason! I attempted to call Mrs. Evangelista multiple times after we left to clarify exactly what we did that resulted in being told to leave and was given no response other than being told that she "loves her staff" and then hung up on repeatedly. How professional ! I will be following up with the BBB for discrimination tomorrow morning first thing. Do not waste your time or your money on this overpriced kerfluffle. El Picantillo is right down the road and their staff is ALWAYS friendly and they love kids! They are also open on a regular schedule not randomly closed with no sign or notice. And before you ask my child was asleep at the time, not making a sound ! Shame on you Mrs. Evangelista for treating paying customers this way! I had heard the service was going downhill but this takes the cake. I see other reviews online citing the attitude that exists at your restaurant when people bring a child. Check it out for yourself readers. No high chairs in the establishment really says a lot about how Lista's Grill doesn't want you as a customer if you come with a child. Kathy I dare you to come on here to respond and say this did not happen tonight because there were many witnesses to how you treated us. But perhaps you could provide a reasonable explanation as to why you would ever treat someone this way and think it is OK? Further, please respond as to why there are no high chairs and why someone would be told that you don't want them as customers simply for asking a question. My family and I did nothing whatsoever to warrant being told to "get out" other than having a child with us.

I've passed by Lista's Grill many times on my travels to and through the Deena and never thought much of it. It's crammed into a tight lot on Mountain Rd., somewhat assuming except for the colorful sign, leading you to believe it's just another Mexican restaurant. And that's what I was expecting when I came in. My friend asked me what I was in the mood for (dinner-wise) and I suggested something Southwest/Latin inspired, and he suggested Lista's. The decor inside is very bright, vibrant, and warm. You can tell right away from the decor that Lista's is more Southwestern/New Mexico-Style cuisine than traditional Mexican/Latin American cuisine. (A point they are sure to make very clear on their menu) My friend and I were greeted warmly, promptly seated, and greeted by our exceptional server. We started with an order of the guacamole and chips, alongside the traditional complimentary salsa and chips appetizer. For entrees, he got the steak fajitas and I got the carnitas. Both appetizers were good, but missing something that would have made them great. It was easy to identify in the guacamole - the avocados were super fresh and tasty, but the mix itself was bland. I am guessing that the jalapenos and tomatoes served on the side allow for customers to customize their guacamole to taste a bit, but the guacamole still needed a pinch more of salt and a splash of olive oil. The chips served with the guacamole were awesome, a step up from the free chips. The free chips however, were fine, but the salsa also lacked something. That one was harder to put my finger on - it tasted very fresh but just a tinge on the bland side. While we were waiting on entrees, our server gave us a complimentary sample of a house-made drink. I believe it was a whiskey that had been infused with apple and some other spices. My friend thought it tasted like a Yankee Candle Christmas candle - in a good way - and I noted the hints of honey and apple and thought it was reminiscent of warm apple cider, just not warm. We appreciated the nice touch of customer service there, and knowing that they go "outside the box" and make creative drinks like these had me excited for our entrees. And I was not disappointed at all. My friend comes to Lista's about once a month, so he was happy with his "go to" fajitas. We were wrapped up in conversation that I didn't realize until I was almost done with my meal that the tortilla shells for both our dishes were served together. I was already tearing into the carnitas, rice, and beans. The carnitas were super tender and tasty, and the accoutrements were also outstanding. I focused on the Southwestern dishes because that's what we came there for and ordered. However, as noted before this is not your run of the mill "Mexican" restaurant, and their menu features many traditional items, from crab cakes to burgers to steaks and ribs. It's a little bit pricier than your typical "Mexican" restaurant as well ... come here expecting to pay $15-$20 for your entree, and a little bit more if you want to splurge on the steak or seafood entrees. If I had to sum up Lista's in one word it would be "unexpected". From the bright vibrant decor to the creative, seasonally-inspired menu to the excellent service - Lista's it's a bright spot for good eats in the Deena.

This adorable little gem has been here for almost as long as I can remember (almost, because I can faintly remember when a different restaurant was here). The wonderful people who run this establishment have consistently gone above and beyond to create an atmosphere that's warm and welcoming. The interior is just as colorful and charming as the exterior, and for it's size, has pretty decent seating. The food is Southwestern cuisine, NOT Mexican, although I can understand why people mistake it for that. Each time I come here, I get something different. I've tried each of their Southwestern-inspired dishes, ranging from fajita's (try the steak one, SO good!) to enchiladas. The desserts are exemplary, I recommend the creme brulee and the fried ice cream. I've yet to find better flan as well. If you're in the mood for steak, try the flat iron; easily my favorite outside of the Southwestern dishes. Some of the entree's are a bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for, and this is quality food. Give Lista's a shot, you'll be thanking me later!

I went there for dinner and I didn't know what to expect. I saw some reviews that looked great. It didn't disappoint minus the kid that was kicking the back of the booth that I was sitting at. The salmon was cooked perfectly. We also had the nachos for an appetizer that were delish! Will def go back!

First time going to Lista's since they opened years ago. It is always crowded when we go by and have heard a lot of really good things from friends. So we decided to go back. The service was very good, atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The food was just average though. As foodies, my husband and I go to many different places and consider ourselves to have very good judgment of good food. It's not that anything was horrible, it was just ok. Very average. For the prices it should have been better than it was. We had the garlic shrimp appetizer, fish tacos and crab cake sandwich. Steady crowd coming in even as we left. Seemed to be a lot of regulars. For us, it's just not worth another try.

This place is way to over priced for the quality of food. I got the $17.00 enchilada that I could not finish because of the taste of the sauce. My husband got the Cajun crab soup and vomited on the way home. So besides our upset pockets and bellies, the waitress was very friendly. In the words of Chef Gordon Ramsay "Congratulation... Thank you on the worst dish in this competition so far"

The food here is fantastic - A bit pricey for certain items. Good portions helpful and friendly staff clean environment. I had the fajitas and they were fantastic. I plan to return to try this cowboy burrito I keep hearing so much about.

We LOVE Lista's Grill!! They have AWESOME food and the BEST staff! This is definitely a GREAT place to eat with your spouses, friends or families! My husband and I went again recently. Their food is never disappointing, truly good people own it (and might I add successful for 40+ years!), it's cozy, has good music, and a great staff that is always genuinely happy to see you.... what more could one ask for?!!! Kids are ALWAYS welcomed. While their restaurant doesn't have the aisle space to offer high chairs, they welcome parents to bring their own child seat if needed. They seat many small children every evening (including coloring paper and crayons). And Lista's is NOT a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant. It's a modern American restaurant that serves American Southwest food. Try the steak or seafood dishes, too--incredible! No matter one's mood when you go there, you always leave even happier. Highly recommend!

One of my wife's and mine favorite places to go for out of this world Mexican food. Their skirt steak is out of this world! They have the best tamales outside of Mexico I ever had. The ambiance is festive and the staff is great. Come early or you might have to wait for a table. I highly recommend Lista's for anyone having cravings from south of the boarder!

I'm in love with this place! From the freshly made salsa and guacamole to the tender steak and lamb. Reasonably priced for great Mexican food! And when I came in, the owners gave me a hug. They are so warm and friendly.

Not one of my favorites but it's within walking distance of my house and they are a bit on the pricey side! I have to say though their margaritas are to die for!! And their food is good, I think the fact that they are on the pricey side effects our going there as often as we could! I love the atmosphere and decor. Everyone is very nice, it's small and quaint yet big enough for the Pasadena location. If you have never been its well worth a try and if you like it keep going back Rueben and his family will love you!!!

Reuben and Cathy are lovely people that have a lovely restaurant serving lovely food. The head waiter George is a great guy with a spot on memory to identify the regulars, even if you aren't that regular. The drinks are great, the food is good, okay the prices are a bit steep, but when you sit down and feel like you are visiting old friends you don't mind paying a little more than you wanted to.

Always great service and food! The fajitas are the best around and we love the variety of food you can get. Great atmosphere. We enjoy family dinners here often, highly recommended!

My family hasn't been in a while, but can't believe some of these bad reviews! My wife and I coined Lista's "our restaurant" because of how much we loved it. My favorite entrée is the steak relleno. Scrumdeliicious!

Boyfriend and I went here on a Friday night, place was pretty empty, but considering there was a mini-blizzard going on outside, not surprising. Parking is a bit of a pain, as in, there's no clear designated parking, we ended up parking in front of the holistic healer next door. Inside it's very cozy and colorful, and someone really, really, really loves Christmas, lOl, but it just added to the charm of this gem. The staff was very friendly and service was fast and attentive. We even got a free round of shots just to start the dinner off! Not sure what it was, but it put a pep in our step. ;-) Every table gets chips and salsa to start with. We also ordered a bean & cheese dip for an appetizer. Delicious, and devoured entirely. For the main course, he had the Cowboy Burrito and I had the Santa Fe Enchilada. Both were fantastic, and there was nothing left to take home. Both main courses came with refried beans and rice, which gives you more than enough food. He ordered a Jack on the rocks, and he definitely got way more than his money's worth on the alcohol. So that was another added surprise. We really enjoyed this place, and it's been added to our must visit again list.

I'll agree that it's definitely on the pricey side. And I wish they'd add more southwestern dishes that didn't include seafood. However, the food is quite good. I enjoyed the fajitas and my hubby enjoyed the cowboy burrito. Service was good but it was very early and mostly empty. WIsh could you try some of their other salsas with your chips.

One of our favorite spots. Kathy, Rueben, and their whole staff are very friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make their customers feel more like family friends stopping by for a visit. I've seen a couple reviews mention the music - their mix is definitely eclectic, often fun, but can be understandable if it's been too loud. Their chicken fajitas are one of our favorites. The chicken is well-seasoned, moist and tender and they include a nice mix of items on the side with cheese, guacamole, and pico. We enjoy their sangria a lot too! Check the specials. We have been pleasantly surprised by many of the specials. We love the pineapple habanero ribs - pretty spicy but even better for leftovers the next day. Desserts are awesome and they have a bread pudding choice that changes. Parking can appear to be pretty tight, but both businesses flanking the restaurant - the Dr's office and the thrift shop - allow for overflow parking. Closed on Sundays. Make reservations for any special events or holidays, like Valentine's Day. The restaurant is on the small side and they book up fast on special occasions.

Absolutely fabulous food! Friendly staff, and perfect margaritas! Only wish they opened earlier for lunch time. We would definitely come more often.

My husband refuses to go to Lista's because it's pricey.. $17 is a little offensive to look at. But in all fairness, you get quite a few things on that plate. I obviously don't have a problem with this since I went for the 5 star.. and that's based solely on: refried beans. Lista's refries are so good it'll put a little tear in your eye. I'm helpless against them.

This was overpriced and nasty. The owner knew that the "cook" left bones in my food and did not say anything to me. We ordered a nasty 7-eleven cheese dip which cost $5.00 & that is what they comped. $10.00 for a kids meal which was cheese that had not been melted. You would be better off going to taco bell unless you are a pet of the owner. The chips were stale and they used frozen ground beef which had been flashed thawed. Nasty nasty and a little more nasty!

Food is good. Steak relleno just so so. Sangria is excellent and a great value at $10.50 for a half carafe. Only odd thing about the place is the music. Tonight we heard "puff the magic dragon" followed by a children's song that somehow went to " this land is your land." Something more in line with the cusine they are known for would be nice. The menu is also starting to show more items that are not what you would expect to find in a Mexican restaurant.
