Man o man! Me the wife and kids came here to stay for a night! Everything was perfect. This is a perfect getaway for anyone needing some mind and body tlc! The grounds are better kept up than the white house itself. Room service would have been nice but this is def an hidden gem of md. Will be returning for many many years to come.
The marina part is OK. Nice setting. Nice and helpful staff. The issue is that when you're there - You're there. There is really very little around in terms of amenities. So you're stuck eating at the restaurant which is on the resort property - Mango's. Mango's is horrible. The staff is rude. The service is the worst. The food is at best OK, I actually had a terrible experience with Mango's. I tried telling them that their service is terrible and they basically went on the attack against me. I guess their motto is "The customer is never right." I cannot believe Herrington sticks with Mango's year after year when they are so bad.....People at the pool know they can't get served so they bring their own food or walk across the street to eat as I do now. Due to my experience with Mango's I'm actually switching marinas for 2016 as is another slip holder I spoke to. Restaurant staff harassing the slip holders........Mango's owner must be family or something is all I can think of as to why Herrington would keep them around when they're running off slip holders.
Herrington Harbour is absolutely beautiful and it's a great family outing and it's so close to downtown DC! This place is a hidden treasure. It is scenic and beautifully landscaped. We have stayed at Herrington Harbor for the 4th of July holiday weekend for years. It's a great place for children of all ages. The beach is great since the water is very shallow initially. It also feels very safe for children, and there are usually plenty of them so families feel right at home. If you are staying on the property, children can come and go around the property with ease and soon they just know the lay of the land. The 4th of July event (which happens on the 3rd, not the 4th) is complete with music, vendors, and great fireworks in the evening. There is a side restaurant (Mangos) with pretty decent moderately priced food that is poolside. The pool is also a pretty nice size. This is also a beautiful place to have a wedding! The wedding site is always decorated so beautifully and the setting is right on the beach. If you have never been down to Herrington Harbor, it is definitely a great weekend hideaway. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I am a big fan but I believe the rates are getting a little of control. Now there is a nightly add on fee for each child, based on the age of the child; the price of entertainment I guess.

Nice little bakery coffee shop on the beach in North Beach. Not a huge selection and can be a little tight for seating of anything is happening in town. We've always had good service.
Delicious sandwiches, friendly staff, quick service, lots of options. Their fraps are better then Starbucks!
Very good iced coffee. They have soy options. Beautiful location and lots of outdoor seating. Extensive bakery... Great croissants!

An out of the way spot for sure. We were just touring around and looking for a place to stop. Excellent sandwiches - very fresh, quality ingredients. Nice outside seating in the front of the store.
Great breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and coffee. Awesome selection of wine and beer too.
Bloody Mary bar for breakfast! I don't need to say much more. It's a good place for a quick meal.

I love plaza mexico Their food is so damnn good love it love it
I love Plaza Mexico! Very friendly atmosphere and service. Food is very good! The jumbo margaritas are quite tasty. I prefer this location over the Huntingtown one...no low ceiling- you don't feel like a Hobbit in this one- and it is very open and cheerfully decorated. The menu has something for everyone. I love having Plaza Mexico here in the beach!

Always wonderful food, ambiance and experience. Recently moved to the neighborhood and this is the only place truly worth spending your money, compared to the other eateries in the area. Be sure to make reservations! They fill up quick, especially when there is live music. Love supporting this business and the people who work here. Being in a similar industry and always "judging", it's great to have faith knowing that when you sit down that everything will be wonderful!!
Went for dinner Friday night at 1930 and was turned away because we didn't have reservations, there were empty tables outside and inside. We eat brunch here occasionally and it's pretty good. I would usually be pissed for being turned away but the owner did explain that there were tickets lined up in the kitchen and he didn't want people to have to wonder how long before getting there food.. Thanks!! We will retur..
My husband and I traveled to North Beach for the day and wanted to have a wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant. We made an early reservation and we're the first people seated in the dinning room. When we walked in first thing we saw was a wonderful old fireplace, a room with a beautiful wooden bar, and a wall of glass doors that ables people to feel a warm and quaint historical establishment and dinning room. We were seated to a nicely set table with white clothes and stemware that sparkled in the day light. We started with the Tempura Fried Asparagus served with a peppercorn & parmesan dip. Unusual combination but tasty just the same. I ordered Stuffed Veal which was stuffed with a blend of cheese, smoked prosciutto and herbs. Served with Basmati rice and spinach. When it was served I was a little thrown by how small the veal roll was (perhaps the size of a magic marker and not the really big ones either). It was prepares very well and had a wonderful flavor. The rice and the spinach complemented the veal perfectly. The waitress was sweet and provided wonderful service... but the food dribbled out of the kitchen making our dinner take nearly two hours (a bit long considering we were the first ones and only one there for a while.) My husband loved his shrimp dinner with the melon. It was overall a wonderful dinning experience. There is only one thing that really took away from the upscale dinner and the abbeunce of the room... the band stand country hoe down sectioned off area within the dinning room. It was with a lack of the same style and beauty for which the rest of the main floor holds. To top it off country/cowboy Joe walked in with his boots and jeans to round off the poor decision the owner has made incorporating this shindig into the room. It's either the restaurant is a elegant dinning experience or you local saloon with loud music and a tacky stage for the performances. The classical music piped in certainly completes and rounds off the experience one would expect till the hoe down begins.

Ok, people who are giving this place horrible reviews for the food....I would think common sense would warn you to only get ICE CREAM products at a place called Tastee Freeze! Not hot dogs. Ew. Came here with some friends who live locally and love this place. I had not one but TWO sundaes here (you read that right, one right after the other, no shame in that). Coincidentally, it was the day before I went into labor. Ha. The place isn't the cleanest establishment in the world, but it is quick and CHEAP. Super cheap (which only justified me getting a second sundae).
Overpriced (a single scoop paid with credit ended up being nearly $5). Not a ton of flavor choices. Employees seemed more interested in their phones than waiting on anybody. A single scoop was still a decent size, and the ice cream tasted ok.
It's pretty cheap, clean from what I saw. Ok burger, have had better but it was filling. Staff was very polite, and it's a cool little fast food place.
