Yum's is on par with most Chinese take out restaurants. If you order delivery, expect a 30-45 minute wait. However, know that even in the worst snow storm we had last winter, they still happily delivered! They get an extra star for their dine in experience. Never a wait, nice quiet atmosphere, TV if you'd like to watch, SUPER quick service, and very hot food! They have a homemade iced tea that tastes like a tea lemonade blend and it's delicious. If it's your first time, get the General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp with some spring rolls on the side.

I ordered from Yum's before and the food is "okay." I am a New Yorker and NY Chinese Food is simply the best., however the food was edible. Tonight I called to order again out of desperation and a quick fix for a house full. Well I was told by a rude woman that because they were "busy" they will not deliver to my address, although I am in the delivery area. Talk about bad business practice. I would have even been willing to go pick it up had she not been so rude. Needless to say...mediocre food...crappy service. Not worth a return. Good luck!

Food is on par with the area for chinese-style takeout. I usually get a combination platter, and always enjoy the fried rice. The delivery is not the best, but what can you expect when there's not many delivery drivers.

Not too bad but not the best. Good for its location. The lady at the counter was nice. They have dinner specials too

The steak sandwiches had no flavor, meat looked and tasted like it was months old, the steak for the steak rolls taste just as disgusting, we waited a whole hour just to get something we cant eat, the so called shrimp rolls, I dare you to find anything other than cabbage!!!!, horrible service and food, doesnt getting any worse!! The day I choose not to cook this is what we get!!! It wasn't even worth the tip money alone the cost of this what they call meal, I call it trash because thats where it went!!

They have changed a few things. More bready dumplings less meat, soups not always consistent. On a few occasions the rice and rice noodles have been off smelling and tasting. Don't know what has happened but something is off. Crab rangoon is still good.

After my trying experience earlier this week, I broke down my fear of Chinese food from this week and tried this place. Super fresh food, really clean spot, and extra friendly staff. So far I have tried the fried wings and the chicken mei fun. Both were seasoned nicely and very tasty. I would recommend this place if you are near or within delivery range. The good prices are also a plus. I have ordered three times in two days.

This is only a 5 minute drive from my new place vs. Wenny's which is more like 10 minutes. Took me a while to try them because I'm hooked on Wenny's, but I finally did on lunch break one day. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp lunch combo. They allowed me to switch a pork egg roll for a veggie spring roll and my food was ready in exactly 10 minutes. Great customer service, but that's where it ends. I got back to work and opened the container and....YUK.. The fried batter on the shrimp looked old on dry. The fried rice looked more like yellow rice cooked in soy sauce. It was not the traditional fried rice you're used to. If they can mess up sweet and sour shrimp, then certainly I won't trust them to make egg foo young and my other favorites.. Throwing the menu away now.. save yourself the trip.

Okay let me start by saying, they received 2 stars because the food was decent, if it were based solely on their customer service it would be 0 stars. Okay so this was my second and final experience dealing with Yums. My first experience was fine, I called in a small fry on my lunch break picked it up, no problem. This last time was yesterday and I called in a delivery order from my job. The woman that answered the phone continued to take walk in orders while I was trying to place my order, which annoyed me. I had to repeat my phone number to her several times and she was snappy, mind you I only gave her my number that amount of times because I'm assuming everytime she took a walk in order she scratched my number out. It was extremely professional. Once I finally gave her my number, she gave me nothing but attitude when I gave her work address, shouting you better answer the phone when my driver comes. I said excuse me I'm confused. Mind you I've never placed a deliver order, so her attiude was misplaced clearly. I gave her my work and cell phon number. I received two phone calls that were rather threatening from the delivery driver. I answered both on the first ring yet he yelled at me complaining that he was outside and I wasn't there. I said someone was on their way out on the first call during which he stated that he was five minutes away. The second call during which I hung up because I refuse to be yelled at by anybody especially when it's uncalled for. All that for some fried wings and fries. Never again, but thanks.

TERRIBLE. Do not order from here. I ordered through their online website and I was missing two items off my order. I called and they gave me the run around for ten minutes--probably hoping I would just hang up--then the girl got on the phone with an attitude. She precedes to tell me that they didn't charge me for the egg roll even though my credit card charge says other wise.

The chicken wings are awesome! Delivery is a bit slow, but the people are courteous. You gave to be patient when ordering due to language barrier.

I live very close to this restaurant and have given it many, many, many chances to be a first pick (given its 3 miles away!)... The food falls short every time! The staff is very friendly, but the food just taste awful. I have had the Egg Foo Young, Noodles, Fried Rice, Stir Fry dishes, Curry dishes, Soups, Appetizers I have tried just about everything on the menu, and they all lack honest Asian flavor. To be specific on Saturday I ordered curry chicken and hot and sour soup, they forgot my rice, which is ok because I always have rice cooked on hand. The soup tasted like water-down soy sauce and the curry chicken tasted salty/spicy and water. I have finally given up on this place. I will go to Panda Express in Laurel or make it myself.

This place rocks! I've eaten at many, many Chinese restaurants and I have never had better Crab Rangoon than at Yums. I've had items from the menu but the best deal is the dinner combo with the sesame chicken, fried rice, and egg roll and it is fantastic. This place should have ZERO negative reviews - try it once and you'll surely agree.

If you are driving from DC to Baltimore on 295, and are stuck in what can be horrific traffic and want a bite, Yum's is a fantastic find just off the BW Parkway at Route 197. Everything was fresh, fresh chopped onions, fresh chopped green peppers in the Pepper and Onion Beef dish, there were big chunks of cooked orange peel in the orange chicken alongside freshly steamed non-frozen broccoli. The family dinners, which offers for example 2 main dishes plus an eggroll and soup per person run about $20 which is a great deal for Chinese food this delicious. If you live closer by, it would be a habit forming place :) I wish DC Chinatown restaurants could offer food this fresh!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
