Probably the worst Denny's I've ever been to. It took entirely too long to get my breakfast, and the presentation/quality of the food was horrendous. My silverware came wrapped in a napkin that had what appeared to be a blood stain on it.

Ok, I admit it! I like Denny's. Is it culinary ecstasy? No. But it is late-night sustenance. So you've been out of college forever. So your metabolism won't allow you to consume 2000 calories after midnight without looking like you have elephantiasis of the buttcheeks the next morning. So you have to report to a cubicle by 0900, and it's gonna be hard fitting into slacks with your enlarged buttcheeks. If you're hungry late at night, this Denny's is the place to go b/c the service is topnotch! Food - I was so sad when they took the vegetable beef soup off the daily menu and typically, it's all gone after 9p.m. on the weekends. My favorite late-night meals: moons over my hammie w/ seasoned fries or hashed browns smothered and covered, garlic mushroom burger, the veggie omelet, and the country fried steak. The shakes and desserts are also very good but have been proven to cause hips to have the consistency of jello jigglers w/ prolonged consumption. Another reason I love Denny's is b/c they faithfully stick w/ Tabasco, which is an absolute MUST on hashed browns and fries and is delightful when mixed w/ ketchup . Boo to all those restaurants who have hired Cholula or her husband, Tapatio! Has anyone even checked their papers/documentation? USA! USA! USA! Service - Mostly older ladies and they are some of the sweetest servers ever. One of them reminds me of the "Hey sweetheart" charm I received down further South - though she's never called me puddin. I regularly drop 20-30% tips here b/c the service is that good. Ok, so my average bill comes out to $15 but it's the principle man! Location - looks and smells just like any Denny's you've been to and even has the Claw game when you enter. If you're in the Laurel area, you have no excuse for going to bed hungry.

As always, I'm a big fan of Denny's. The food is quick, delicious, cheap, and greasy. This store lived up to my expectations excellently. Only negative comment is that the wait staff was having a loud and public argument while we were waiting for our food. I'm not sure what that was about, but it definitely should have occurred behind closed doors.

  • S V.

PROS: - Our waitron was super friendly. - The food was yummy. CONS - The wait was 35 min for pancakes and a club sandwich (w less than 10 customers) - We waited 5 min to be seated while the gal said her goodbyes to her boyfriend. Overall I wouldn't return.

So they seem to have brought some more help in managerial wise. So I have upgraded my star rating. We went yesterday at lunch and today at early breakfast and both times it was clear there was a new sheriff in town. Seating was quick, service by both waitresses Constance and Leilani was very efficient and good, and food was delicious, hot and fast. So thumbs up to the new regime hope it continues!

I'd like to shed some sober light on the terribly inconsistent reviews you can read about this restaurant. The reason the reviews appear to be ALL OVER THE PLACE is that this restaurant is incredibly inconsistent. The waitstaff varies, the food varies, even the managers who attempt to make up for the inconsistencies vary. I seem to recall that one of the last times I was in there I complained that the men's room urinal was wasting enough water to fill a bathtub every ten minutes and that they should call a plumber. Can you tell I'm an environmentalist? If you check out my other reviews, you'll see that I wrote a glowing review about another Denny's; a particularly consistent and excellent one. In that much more favorable review, I used THIS Laurel MD Denny's as a fairly typical example of my experiences with most Denny's establishments. I regret to say that by posting this lack-lustre review, I'm steering away from my ordinary habit of either reviewing excellent restaurants or horrible ones. I wish I could issue this restaurant two different scores. It's never quite as bad as a 1 star, and never quite as good as a 5 star. It is sort of a 2-4 star restaurant. About the only aspects of this restaurant which remains remotely consistent is that the parking is always ample, and the waitstaff, regardless of attentiveness or competence, is at least always nice. PS: in case you are wondering why I ever set foot in this place, an excellent question btw, is that (as my other reviews all mention) I run a social club that meets in a different restaurant (and usually in a different town) each week. Although I'd much prefer to meet in the Tastee Diner a short distance from the Denny's, one of the more influential, demanding and independent members of this club insists there's nothing at the Tastee she can eat, so for her sake we will continue to meet at the Denny's until things get so bad here that even she prefers the Tastee. Now that I've explained all that, and have had a moment to think about it, I'm going to keep careful attention to what she orders at the Denny's and after better understanding what she can eat, I'll try to have a talk with the owner of the Tastee and ask if they can whip something up to her liking.

Went for Saturday morning breakfast. Ordered the "moons over my hammy" which is eggs, cheese and ham in a toasted sandwich with a side of hash browns, Food was served quickly. Good taste. Able to eat and head to work in plenty of time.

It is 4 am, you are drunk or stoned (I am not judging), and nothing else is open. Thank God for Dennys. The staff is usually friendly and helpful, if not overly motivated. They serve breakfast at anytime and it is pretty darned good. They now have the 2,4,6,8 menu which means you can get good food cheap

PITIFUL. The worst service I have ever received anywhere, EVER. Party of 2 at 2pm on a Sunday. 1) Immediately after the host seats us, our server (Theresa) screams out, "What the hell is he doing?!" We get it Theresa, you're busy. But, why the hell are you a waitress if you don't want to be busy? I should have taken that as a sign and walked out. 2) We place our drink orders and she's back in a few minutes. She then says, "I'll be right back honey." She didnt return for 15 minutes. No exaggeration. Oh yeah, the coffee cup? Filthy, but we didn't want to wait another 15 minutes, so we dealt with it. 3) After our order is placed (she didn't even make any eye contact which was weird), it takes ages to come out. Once we get our food, I ask her, "May we please have some utensils?" I waited 5 minutes with the A/C constantly blowing directly at our food and cooling it off before I lost it. I went up front to get assistance, took a peek in the kitchen. She was filling drinks for another table. Fucking inconsiderate whore. 4) She never refreshed the coffee. Never bothered to check up on us. Another waitress noticed our body language, saw how frustrated we were and decided to help us a bit. The only reason i gave this place 2 stars was because of the 2nd waitress that helped us and the manager who gave us 30% off. Hey Theresa, Please, put yourself into a retirement/old-folks home. You are truly a shitty human being.

I can't top Su K's review and won't even try. Bottom line, good or bad, it's Denny's. A regular American staple. Much like America, she has her bad days as well as her good ones. The thing to remember is that it's just food. No one is forcing you to eat it... but it's usually worth every calorie. I got the ultimate skillet and my friend got the build your own chicken wraps. When I got the skillet it was still sizzling. Awesome. In the immortal words of my dining companion, "It's f'ing good!" The cheese fries app came after our regular food, but we didn't care since everything came so quickly. If I'm ever back in Laurel, I will be coming back.

Yes.....this is a diner. Yes.....they are open 24-7. Yes.....their prices are pretty cheap. (LOUD SIGH) Ummm.......standards???? How bout we make the food edible? I don't always feel like guessing what exactly I'm eating, especially given that I ORDERED it off of a menu with PICTURES!! I'm saving the guessing games for when I get married! Again, yes expectations should be tempered but c'mon......service???? No freakin way I should see my server every 25-30 minutes, especially when she has yet to take my beverage order! Cleanliness?? Dude, diners don't have to look and smell like crap. So not an appetizing look. Take a broom and sweep up or do something!!!!!

We were seated quickly but after 15 mins of being ignored with not even a drink order being taken, we got up and left. I went to the front on the way out to let them know about the poor service, but was ignored by two waitresses having a personal discussion. Very poor attitudes along with poor service!

This is a good place to stop in for a quick meal. The restaurant is pretty large; we didn't have to wait for a table even on a busy Saturday morning. There's also plenty of parking. The prices are good; the food might not be the best ever but it does the job. If I'm in the area and hungry, I'll be back.

It was terrible! After waiting to be seated we placed our order and it took them about 45 mins for our food to come out. The waitress was very pleasant and told us they were short staff. We finally received the food and it was not hot at all! The pancakes were yuck! Two people in my party sent their food back! Everything was terrible! I just couldn't! I wanted to get the heck out of there!

Hey this is a franchise dinner, you can't expact too much, well the food is okay.... however I love their Zesty Nachos and Cheese Quesadilla which I highly recommend it! Beside food the place is very old but is clean and nice for past two years I've been going there Their service is always good and friendly I love NANEH she's a very nice and friendly server with such a great personality and caring for customers! in general not all denmys' are as good I had the worst service at denny''s in baltimore! but this one is a good one and never had a problem from the food nor from the service!

Good food at a Great price... what more could you want? I know what you're thinking, "If you love it, why only 3 stars, Guru?". The sad fact is that the wait staff could use a little training in proper food handling, and manners. For example; I recently witnessed one of the waitresses preparing a fruit bowl in a big old rush. When she pulled the pre-packaged fruit out of the fridge, and ripped open the bag, the fruit went flying across the counter-top of the food-prep area. Without hesitation she bare handedly pick up all the fruit and threw in into the bowl, spun around and handed it to a customer. Now, I'm no germ-aphobe, but I don't like the idea of some strangers bare hands all over my fruit before I eat it. Ya know? Despite the occasional wait-staff flub, Denny's will always be a favorite of mine, for it's affordable meals, and the whole 'kids eat free' thing. I mean where else can you take a family of 3 for breakfast and spend less than 20 bucks (including tip)? Ya gotta love it! ~The Guru

Service was okay. Food was regular Denny's fare. Only gave it 2 stars b/c my menu was covered with something brown & sticky (not syrup either) and my plate had an insect wing on it.

  • Mike S.

Worst experience ever. Rude staff and unorganized. Last experience we waited directly in front of host for 5-10 min for him to take our name. When we finally got his attention he completely ignored us and began taking names of customers behind us. Needless to say we walked out and will never be returning.

This was a horrible experience. First, the waitress messed up our order. Not difficult to remember since we ordered the waffle slam. when the waffles came ut they were hard and almost inedible. Second, my daughter ordered a hamburger and when it was delivered to our table she picked it up and there was mold on the bottom of the bread. The waitress then took it in the back and after a while brought back another burger. She told us that the green mold on the bun was not mold but something off the grill. NOT! We will not be back no matter what. Horrible.

That was truly a grand slam breakfast. Fast and friendly service. This Denny's is a force to be reckoned with. By far, the best Denny's franchise restaurant we have been to. THANK YOU!

  • Adam T.

I like diners, and while Denny's is a chain, I think they do the genre justice. I like the breakfast served all day and when I go to a diner, I typically want breakfast food. I used to always get the grand slam, but have had to change my go to recently. Still, I think it is a quality diner experience. It's no Chick & Ruths in Annapolis, but it is about all you can ask for from a chain restaurant.
