Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

After my two previous visits to this location, I all but gave up on the restaurant and it's customer service. On my last visit, I didnt even get a chance to dine after the poor service I received. Well, actually "lack of service" I received. After sitting in the self seating bar area waiting over 20 minutes without anyone or server coming to my table to even take my beverage order, I decided to leave. Upon leaving, I asked to speak to the manager on duty to voice my dismay with the lack of service. The manager, Henry quickly apologized and offered to "comp" my meal and an appetizer to make it up to me. Staying there any longer was the last thing on my mind, so he suggested I come back another time and dine for free to win my business back. Well, I decided almost 3 weeks later to return and take him upnon his offer to "Wow Me". The service was 100% better from the time I enter the restaurant. We were seated in the dining room when I quickly asked for the manager on duty, which happened to be Henry again. He came over and greeted me with a warm "manager welcome" and I reminded him of my last visit. He said he was glad that I came back to give them another try on the house as he suggested. My guest and I ordered an appetizer and two dinner entrees. The service was great and the food was even better than any of my previous visits and I let Henry know that before leaving. OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE has won my business back!!

Wow!!!!! Boss man and myself and two associates arrived 12:30pm and at the hostess stand asked for table for 4. They looked at us like deer in headlights and said it would be a 20 minute wait. We looked at the nearly EMPTY dining room maybe 2 tables like WHATTTTT???? Boss man - We will NEVER be eating here again. Had a great meal and service at Olive Garden - Bowie Town Center.

Subpar. Chain restaurants are usually mediocre and this location wasn't an exception. When I opened my menu the pages were stuck together by some old piece of food and the service wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't good. I didn't choose to go here but my mom likes it for some reason. The price isn't worth subpar food and the establishment needs to clean it's tables, plates, utensils and the menus. Actually just throw them away and buy new ones because the ones we had were either sticky or falling apart. Unfortunately the entire family was subjected to this experience and I highly doubt we will be returning.

Alexis is such an awesome waitress. Very attentive and pleasant. She had a big smile on her face like she loves her job and her customers. I'm so glad I came here despite the bad reviews. Oh...the food was excellent!!!

Never again. The only thing my mother wanted for her birthday was to go to Outback, so we took her. We decided on lunch since I know dinner can be very busy. We arrived at 1145am. We were the only people in the place - no exaggeration. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and then didn't see the waitress again for maybe 20 min. She rudely brought the drinks and appetizer (which was doused in oil) and then another 20 min until our meal. Once the meal hit the table, we had to ask for drink refills, which were brought out with an attitude. Not once did she ever come by to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything... we didn't see her until she came to bus the table and leave the check... without saying 1 word. The food was mediocre, even for a chain restaurant. Why would you be so rude to your only table for over an hour?

I hadn't been to Outback in a long time, but was pleasantly surprised to order a grilled porkchop with a baked potato and ceasar salad that was big and delicious. I couldn't eat all of it, but I certainly enjoyed what I was able to eat. I shared a brownie aka mode with a friend and we weren't able to eat all of that either. Oh! Almost forgot our appetizer was spinach artichoke dip, and just like the rest of the meal it was delicious too. The server was on point too, she came and checked on us just enough and earned the really nice tip I left her.

This Outback has definitely gone down hill. Whoever the new manager is, is absolutely awful. The bartenders (Blair) suck. The service sucks. The food comes out wrong and cold. No one greeted us at the door and when we sat at the EMPTY bar, it took the bartender 10min to greet us. The last time I was there, the bathroom smelled SO bad that I had to walk across the street to the Jaspers to use theirs. As a patron who used to frequent this establishment on a WEEKLY basis, it was very disapointing to see it go from a standing room only restaurant, to whatever it is you want to call it now. I've gone on different occasions and each time, the service has gotten worse. They have definitely lost me as a patron..

Oh Outback, Outback Oh how I want to love you so!! WHY do you do this to me!? Cause me to write a negative review for such a highly potential place...ok so here goes... Arrive here for a birthday get together for a friend. It was a little over 25 people. Once we were seated we had 1 waitress assigned to our table and that was the first red flag. While she did the best she could to keep up it was clear that she needed some help. Sad but I didn't even catch her name...sorry! Anywho, I ordered the No Rules Parmesan Pasta with Shrimp. It finally came out and the alfredo sauce tasted like they forgot an ingredient, the shrimp was overcooked and the pasta was too sticky. I think when I visit this Outback I will be sure to stick to what they are known for and what I have tasted and liked. Victorian Syle Steak, bloomin onion, wings...yum! STAY AWAY FROM THE PASTA!! They get 3 out of 5 stars because service and food here is hit or miss...

Absolute horrible experience. The worst I've ever had. I have better service going to McDonalds. Our waiter totally didn't ever acknowledge us we always had to track HIM down. It took about an hour or longer for our food. Once we got our food, we had to wait another 5 to 8 minutes for silverware that we never received. I ordered my steak well done and of course after waiting an hour, it was still not cooked all the way once I got it. I wound up returning my food. I only had a drink. They blamed it on short staff. Should have let us know that BEFORE we decided to sit down and spend money.

Me and my friends went there on 9/27 at night when they were about to close. It was my first time going to outback ever but that didnt stop from trying out what they had. I didnt order a steak but instead i ordered a double burger and a side of fries. The wait was around 30 mins for take out but it was all worth it at the end i would say. Since we got there late the cashier/ waitress gave us a free take out drink, but when i got my food i was excited about the burger but i was highly disappointed about the fries. I ask her what happen and she said they are only allowed to give us a certain amount. All in all it was good for my first time going there.

Love this place! My BFF and I go here to eat at the bar, then walk over to Jasper's for drinks! Outback has the best prime rib and Caesar salads.. Extra croutons please

Well...this was fun. I ordered online curbside takeout. I went in to pay and there was a guy that they had messed up his order and he was waiting for them to fix it. I got mine...it was dinner for one, I figured how can they mess that up...well, they did. They forgot part of the dinner for me too. At 0 degrees with a wind chill the last thing I wanted to do was to go back out to have to get it, but I decided to call first to tell them and go back out another 1o freezing minutes. 1/2 hour of trying to get them to answer the phone I said forget this. It's a shame...the steak was tasty but cold even when I picked it up. Moral of this story: Be there 10 minutes early if you order online if you want hot food. NEVER ever get takeout from them without checking EVERY box. Apparently this branch's kitchen doesn't know how to fill an order.

Party of Seven! Party1: it's all you can eat shrimp nite, but we are out if "that type" of shrimp! Apparently the all you can eat shrimp is different than the other shrimp. Party 2: I had to clean my silverware before I used it..... The knife was greazy! Yes "greazy" and not just greasy! Party 3: We must have been in a shrimp black hole because all the other tables had all you can eat shrimp on command. Party 4: Similar sized party seated before ours after waiting less than 5 minutes, yet we had been waiting for 15mins. Party 5: Oily Bloomin Onions served but had to ask for napkins, not once but twice. Party 6: I kindly requested a pitcher of sangria for my husband and I, but instead we were served a pitchers of ice with grape juice. Extremely disappointed and won't make this mistake again. Party 7: Extremely unprofessional service. Waiter was not friendly at all. I order a"melon chelada" and the waiter said: we are not serving this drink cuz we are out of coronas and btw this drink is not good anyways. I'm was really shocked with his comment. How can they criticize their own menu? That's ridiculous! The manager had the audacity to come over and ask if everything is ok?!!! Outback headquarters should shut this location down.

The take out here is very bad. Dining in is a much better experience. Food is always good at outbacks try the no rules pasta or the grilled wings

Had a bad experience at my neighborhood Outback so I decided to drive a little further to patronize this one. Glad I did! Food was great! Service was good. We were halfway through dinner before we got our drinks which was the only downside. The online seating function is awesome! We were seated shortly after we arrived and within the quoted time frame. Will definitely visit again!

I have decided to stop coming here because the service is awful, the place is not kept clean, management seems to be out of touch with pleasing the customer and it is very disappointing for a local place to be such garbage. I have since started going to the one in Bowie which is worth the drive. Do not waste your time with dining in this location or their take-away!!!!!

So I don't eat at Outback often, though I USED to. I'm not too sure that I'll resume frequent visits. They've undergone a smidge of a facelift in many or most of their locations and they look great. Got rid of a lot of the chintzy gimmicky stuff. I've found where they got the money to do it. Yeah, they've cheaped out on the actual steaks. I think I've had the benefit of not eating here with gaps of months and years in between and I've realized that the quality of food is not what it used to be. For the average dinner, it'll suffice. But if you're looking for a meal that you'll wake up at 3:38am and reminisce about, this is no longer the place. This isn't a scathing review and it's not a negative review. I'm just saying that I've had better steaks in cheaper places at this point......and Outback is a friggin steakhouse. *shrug* NOTE: I have not in the last couple of visits to this location experienced poor customer service or long waits. But to be fair, I've typically gone at non-peak times. I'm not good with waiting to eat.

Good service, food was mediocre at best. Steak was very undercooked, all the sides basically include potatoes which are boring and bland. Overall a decent experience, can't imagine going back.

Was there yesterday for my son's birthday lunch around 2 p.m. We had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated because they were short on wait staff. They must of been short in the kitchen as well because the food was horrible - how can you mess up on hamburgers/chicken fingers. They need to get this location together because the service and food really sucks. Went to one in Arlington last week with coworkers and the atmosphere, service, and food was great.

Went for a family dinner and.was not totally satisfied. They took too long to being a single beer, and the order also took long to serve. The place was NOT too busy. Food was cold....

My coworkers and I were so excited that Outback was now open for lunch...then we actually went. The server was nice, but he spoke so fast we couldn't understand him. He took our drink orders, but he totally forgot the only male sitting with us. He also pretty much ignored him a majority of the time. Our LUNCH order for 3 people took almost 45 minutes to arrive. (we only have an hour for lunch) The orders were wrong, the food was cold and overcooked, and there was no type of compensation given. The manager apologized to us, but even when asked if she could do anything, all she did was comp the one meal that was so wrong you couldn't make it right. We will not return.

This is for the curbside Takeaway service only. I have to say the customer service was great my food was ready on time, and hat. The broccoli looked a little sorry, and the portion for the broccoli was small. I will be coming back for curbside

We had a horrendous experience here. It took 10 minutes for anyone to approach our table once we sat down. By then we were ready to order our food and drinks. Our drinks took another 10-15 minutes to come out with the warm bread. The soup came 10 minutes after that and the food took 15 minutes after we FINISHED the soup to come out. We then sat for 15 additional minutes waiting to see the server to get our check and finally had to ask a manager to send him our way. Meanwhile another two tables complained about the service and we'd been asked if we would give our table up. "As soon as we can!" was our response. It just took 6 minutes to PAY the check. The food was good, but we will never come back.

Zero stars. Walked in and it was like the world stopped. Everyone was looking at us really funny. Was it because we were the only white folks in the entire place? Maybe. Got brushed off by the hostess and given one of those "wait around and we'll buzz you" thingies. I had to ask the hostess how long the wait would be. After a big eye roll and sigh, I was informed 15-20 minutes. Whatever. We stuck around and waited for a table. Once we were seated, our waitress finally came after 10 minutes and said she'd be right back. She never came. 30 minutes with zero service. We walked out. This place is a joke.

As I was dining in the bar area, an adolescent German cockroach came crawling right across the table, food and drinks was delectable until I seen the roach. Please contact pest control

The new moonshine themed special menu saved this experience. Our waitress tried, but she was slow and not intuitive as to when a person needed a refill and the check. She also couldn't multi-task because she said there was french dressing and brought out ranch (later she said that Outback doesn't even have french dressing). Then she ordered sweet tea (in her mind) for my friend. There was a couple of good points about Outback tonight. 1) a waiter walked by and offered us bread which was great because we asked out waitress twice for some and she brought it 10 minutes after he brought us some. I also liked that the hostess buzzed us to let us know that we should take a seat in the bar booth instead of waiting a long while for a table. That was nice of her because we were starving. I recommend checking out the new moonshine menu items.

We have been waiting for an hour and this location is short staffed. You would think the managers would tell you once you arrive. We waited patiently and sat for dinner. The waitress was amazing. The food was horrible. We all decided that we are striking Outback off the list of restaurants. DMV.

It saddens me to say this. We've been long time customers, but the quality seems to have gone way down. They seem understaffed considering the number of empty tables, particularly during long customer waits for tables. The kitchen is very slow even with a 2/3 full restaurant. This last visit too over two hours from the time we arrived from the moment we walked out the door. We spent maybe 20 minutes of that two hours actually eating.

I love this place. I've lived in the area and have visited Outback many times. I cant recall any bad experiences. Servicr is great. Sadly, they dont have a happy hour tho. However, they have a daily margarita special that is great. $5 for a margarita AND an added shot of tequila. Cant beat that! They have a bunch of signature dishes that are delicious as well. Management is great and very helpful should something be not-so-good with your dish. They even came to sit with us once and asked about our overall experience. So I say ... GO! enjoy a meal here. Its fairly priced and they give good portions. Worth your money.

Ooooooh the wait to be seated at a table sucked! Yep 50 wonderful minutes of sitting/standing and waiting to get a table-NOT!! So my aunt had never been to a Outback Steakhouse and since it was her birthday week, we decided to take her here! The thing that annoyed me was there were like 10 free tables while I was standing there waiting & I kept thinking that they were reserved but nope they weren't because after 50 minutes we were seated in one of them so it's clear that they had no waiters. Hire more people so we don't have to wait for that long grrrrrrrrrr!!!! By the time we were seated we were ready to order everything hoping that this would speed up the process. That in my opinion did not work!! Everything was just terribly slow! When we got our food it was cold. We just wanted to get out of there! Will definitely go somewhere else.

My family and I have been to this Outback Steakhouse twice. The service was excellent both visits. The first visit was good. It wasn't as busy in the restaurant so everything was perfect. The food came out as ordered and cooked to perfection and the male waitress (cant remember his name) was good. The second visit was good but it was busy and there were a few disappointments but nothing to really cry about. Our server and manager Henry went over and beyond to make our visit exceptional. The other manager ( African American male, tall, 40's) was professional, friendly and helpful as well. My husbands steak wasn't exactly well done in the center throughout the whole steak but he didn't complain too much about it. The waiting was a little long, but that is to be expected when the restaurant is busy. Its probably better to arrive before three if you want the best service. Overall I would visit this restaurant again due to the good food and the great managers that actually care about their customers who visit the restaurant.

The good part about chain restaurants is reliability. You know what you are getting - the same steaks, the same potato, the same wings. Normally, you also know what you are going to get for service. I say normally because this Outback is the exception that proves the rule. I've been here several times, and even on a slow day, customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. Food and decor is standard Outback style, but if you come here, be prepared to wait. And wait.

Food was good, we had fun but not a happy hour place. Drink pitchers are real small and only serve 3. For happy hour though would go to tgif or Applebees.

This place can be very hit or miss. If you go at 4 pm on a weekday when they're just opening, you might get great service and hot food. If you go on a Friday night or a Sunday afternoon (church crowd) - cross your fingers and hope for the best. The food is decent and reasonably priced. Check for coupon inserts or google for coupons before you go. One of the issues I have had after a few visits is that the food is not delivered while it's hot. Also, the waits can be long even when they have a lot of open seats. One issue is that I once ordered fried shrimp and my server told me the restaurant did not carry tartar sauce. Tartar sauce is a basic condiment if you're going to carry seafood. It's like selling fries and burgers with no ketchup. The waitress told me should would make some sauce. It took a long time so my food was cold and it was disgusting - mayo and capers. On another occasion, the chain had a promotion that if you brought your child in you would get a coupon for a free meal on another evening. We went to this location and they claimed they were not aware of the promotion and that they did not have the coupon. Another time I went and ate at the bar on a Friday night. The waitress with the dreadlocks is the worst. Avoid her if you can. She seemed irritated by every request. She even threw away some of my untouched food without asking me first. We did use this location once for a birthday dinner on a weekday afternoon and the staff was extremely nice and the birthday girl had a great time. I tried to use them again for a birthday on a Friday evening and had the opposite experience. This location needs intensive customer service training. They are selling something good at a reasonable price but the poor service gets in the way.

Odd place. Gawd awful service, but great tasting food. Don't expect to ever see you're server or to get refills. I probably won't return to this Outback.

After my last visit to Outback Annapolis, I was excited when my husband suggested we go for dinner last night. This time we went to the Largo location. I was a little concerned about the service, given previous experiences at this particular location. It was crowded, but we were able to get a seat within 5 minutes. Our waiter was Raheem. Awesome! My husband is not a huge tipper, but Raheem managed to exceed his expectations so much that he gave him more than 20%. Great personality, friendly, professional, gave good recommendations, and made our experience great! This time I went for steak. I'm a filet girl, but the last time I had an Outback filet, I was not happy, so I asked Raheem for suggestions. He suggested the ribeye. I also had the loaded baked potato and the pecan and blue cheese salad. The salad was good, but they really need more cheese. As always, the baked potato was good. That steak... As an amateur (and ribeye newbie), I would say it was cooked to perfection. It was very tender and had so much flavor I didn't need any steak sauce! I literally wanted to melt with the first bite. It got a little dry as I got to the end, but by then I was so pleased (and stuffed) it didn't matter. Captain's Mai Tai again and no dessert. Kudos to the chef, our waiter, and Outback for a great dining experience.

I do not recommend this location if you can avoid it. They have VERY slow service, and the food taste like a TV dinner. Never again!

This was a horrible experience. We waited for an hour after they told us it would Jena 30 minute wait. Once they sat us down our waitress was wonderful. I forgot her name, but she was excellent. So, we get our food and our food is cold but the plates were hot...confused? So were we. So we ended up walking out still hungry...don't eat here. They must be under new management.

I've been to Outbacks all over... this one was subpar for a few reasons. First, here is the good... quick seating, quick greeting at the table. The bad...the server was nice, but forgetful and was not apologetic in the least. Did not offer to refill drinks and didn't offer dessert. She forgot to bring items to the table which were ordered before the meal such as salads and soups. What is the point of it once you bring out the meal? Although not her fault, the no rules alfredo pasta was prepared oddly. All of the seafood was pushed off to the site and nothing was mixed in. Plus, would have made more sense to place it into a pasta bowl and remove the shrimp tails. I've ordered this before and this was not the way I remember it coming out. I think it was this location because usually I get good service at Outback. Would go elsewhere next time...

Went here on Monday night. It was a little crowded maybe 65% full. Our waitress was awful. I am usually very patient with waitresses but she was so slow getting us our drinks and made a face when I asked her to bring us bread. That's the MAIN reason I go to Outback. I couldn't believe she acted like I was taking from her personal stash. My boyfriend and I shared a bloomin' onion which I usually love, it was so oily and just awful. It tasted like they fried it and subsequently poured a bottle of oil on top. Yuck. I ordered the shrimp and fish & chips. It was okay. The fish was minced and they only gave me 2 shrimp. I thought it was kind of ridiculous, if they are only going to give you 2 shrimp, why even put that in the name? Anyways, the meal was lackluster, but I did appreciate the manager coming around to talk to us and ask how we were. His speech was clearly rehearsed, but I appreciate the effort anyways. I probably won't be back unless I have a serious Outback bread craving. :)

I have been to this location twice. Both times I took my family which is 2 sons(think large) and my baby girl with my Wife. Both times we had a swell time. We went on a weekend and they dont open until 11 am on Saturday but thats good we got there around 1pm. That way you get non tired waiters who have their fresh face on for the day. Me and my sons ordered 14 ounce Steaks...They were prepared just as we ordered them. I told my younger that he dont need it well done...will be too tough for the size of meat....It was funny watching him chew balls of meat in his jaws...I said dude just order it medium well with hot pink middle...Crazy boy. But we all had a great time. My little one had her Mc N Cheese with chicken tenders. My Wife ordered the flat iron steak. That actually came out a little to well. But she took a bite and told them it was OK. I would give 5 stars but they should have excused her meal. We had a large bill and a little off for not getting it all correct would have been the right move. But my Wife stated that it was OK and we let it be. Service the two times Ive been there were pretty good. I didnt have a young server. I had a vet who knew everything Outback and he came with alot of suggestions. I certainly will go back. I ofter buy my gift cards here and receive a free $25 coupon for my trouble.

I love chain restaurants. I like consistency. I don't like this location. I ordered a prime rib rare. It came out seasoned and seared medium well. Not what I ordered at all. A girl in our party merely wanted dessert and her food was promised over and over again and wasn't brought until we were almost done with our entrees forcing her to throw her hands up in the in frustration. She had it wrapped to go instead. Poor girl :( she had to sit there and watch us eat.

If I could have given less than a 1/2 of star I would have. Arrived at 12:15 with a party of 5 adults and one child. When we arrived there were two tables seated and the bar area was full. The host told me it would be about 5 minutes before we could be seated... Why? After being seated we then waited 10 minutes while our waiter slammed bread in our table as he rushed by. After an additional 10 minutes he finally came and rushed us through our orders (crab stuffed mushrooms and a Bloomin' Onion) and came back and with impatience took my elderly 80+ grandmother's order and the reminder of our orders. Twenty (20) minutes later we received our appetizers, salad and soup. The crab stuffed mushrooms can only be described as disgusting. After waiting an additional 30 minutes, we finally received our meals. The grilled California chicken worth avocado was awful, the bread was old, the avocado was VERY old and had a weird taste. The wrong chicken came on the BBQ chicken salad, the substituted grilled chicken in the combo sandwich had no lettuce, no mayo (nothing) on it. To top it off, one order didn't come. We waited 5 minutes before the slowest waiter in history to come back and tell us it was never put it. We finally spoke to a manager, who ended up comp-ing the entire meal (which we intended to pay). At the end of the meal, we asked for a box to take one little chicken tender home. 25 minutes later, my mom went to get the box. Left at 2:30.

I thought when you been to one Outback you been to them all, but that's not the case here....first our waitress didn't have a good memory..she walked pass my table a few times looking right at my empty glass.... I ordered my wings well done..when they arrived they were fried very soft and very greasy.... main course took 35 mins to come out....our waitress had to many tables... The place has a nice laid back environment...good place to have a few drinks ..... Best food to eat from here is their Lobster...this is why I come here.... ..

Love it! What can I say?...Great place for a steak and other grilled foods. The service is as good as the food. Maybe I'm bias because I have a thing for the blooming onions but oh well. This location is still great and would easily recommend it to anyone with a taste for some steak.

Extremely slow service at the bar. Both female bartenders did not move with any since of urgency. My boyfriend and I had to wait 20 minutes to order and 20 minutes to get recognized. I hope management reviews customer feedback. Bartenders need additional training in customer service.

Outstanding customer service, great food and very efficient. The waitress we had was very friendly and spoke to us in length about how interesting her job was and the amazing people she encounters on a daily basis. I can go on and on about this place. Great customer service goes a long way.

The service here leaves much to be desired. We had a server come to the table after dropping off the check to tell me that when I was ready, to stand up the folio when I was ready to pay. Really? You don't say. I assume he was ready for us to leave. The food is okay, but usually get to go orders.

"My husband and I went last night. Great service and food. Their grilled shrimp and chicken quesadillas are scrumptious. We will definitely return again. Having great customer service can make or break a restaurant."

Not only do they have good steaks, but their lobster is also excellent. Check out one of the steak and lobster special combos for the best deal. Service is very good, and the management is very attentive. Everyone wants to make sure you have a good dining experience. For those with food allergies, this is an excellent choice. They have a special gluten-free menu (including a desert that my gluten-allergic wife can eat).

My friend and I had dinner at your Largo, MD location on Saturday night. The experience was so extraoridinary, we asked to see the Manager before we even got our meals - we were totally impressed by the time we had appetizers :-) The Manager that originally spoke to us did not come to the table. Instead, the Owner (Tony) came to the table! Amazing service, amazing food, spotless restaurant, prompt clearing of dishes and efficient-but-not-rushed service - despite the extrememly busy waiting area. Nice job! Thanks for the service!

This is my second time coming here and I will never come back here again. Everyone here ordered steaks and they came out cold. The bake potatoes were cold as well. The manager offered to reheat the steaks. Uhhh no, I asked for my steak medium and reheating steak is not good!

All around a good meal at a reasonable price. Steaks were good but not amazing. Salmon dish was excellent and the veggies with it were fresh and tasty!

I thought curbside pickup meant curbside, I had to go inside! Once inside I waited for five minutes before anyone ask about my order. When they finally did now one came back in another ten minutes. I left and won't ever go back. Go to bowie or any other neighborhood and they will bring you your food for curbside. Let those black people settle for inferior service but I won't! Never again. The reason why I did curbside was my back was hurting, missing a disk.
