Pizzeria Santa Lucia Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Hubby and I stopped by here while out running errands and for a humble appearing place, were delighted with our carry-out. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and the staff is friendly. I got a hamburger with all of the fixings and it was delicious. Hubby got a cheese steak which he enthusiastically consumed. The fries were great--thick, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The onion rings were good too. Next time we're running errands in this areas we'll be sure to stop by again.

I paid 14 bucks for a Cheese-steak sub, fries, and a soda.. So its over priced... and the sub was so skimpy it was pathetic. This place is a joke

This review is for the pizza. I haven't tried any other menu items. The pizza crust was tough and difficult to chew. Kinda reminded me of Little Caesars pizza. I don't like that pizza. I like a crisp-tender crust with a puffy-risen border. No bubbles, like the crust did not rise. So maybe it would suit someone else, but not me. Sausage topping was adequate and cheese was well distributed and enough. The sauce was just ok. Maybe consider one of their other menu items if you come here, I don't recommend the pizza.

The steak subs are really good here. The pizza is a different story. The sauce, cheese, and toppings are ok but the crust... bad. I don't know if their yeast is dead or if they are not proofing their dough long enough, but the crust is flat and does little rising once cooked. If their pizza has changed since my last visit I would like to know because everything else that I've had here is really good. Oh, and make sure you are polite and cordial with the staff. They have a no nonsense attitude that can be off putting if you are a bad customer.

Good pizza and wings. Employees are nice and helpful. They know their menu features without question. Will be a repeat customer.

We went for lunch on a work day. It was pretty busy, seems like the locals like it. I thought it was just ok. I got a classic small pizza (since they did NOT have pizza by the slice). The food was eh. Nothing to rave about. They seem nice in there, and their drink selection was good.

After living in the area for a few months, my wife and I finally got around to trying Pizzeria Santa Lucia and it is unfortunate... that we waiting this long. Look, if you are from New York, Hartford, Wilkes-Barre, or Philly, the Pizza will not live up to your standards. Then again, almost no place in the Baltimore/Washington Area will. It's just too far out of the pizza belt. For a place in DC Metro, PSL is above average. Today we ate in the restaurant and had a pepperoni pizza. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The man taking our order was friendly and made sure he had the order correct. Our only complaint was that the shop was a bit cold. However, with the weather it seemed as if almost everywhere outside of my car was cold. The pizza itself was very good. The crust was crisp and tasted pretty good. (It was not the usual cardboard you get around here.) The cheese and sauce were above average, but unlike most places PSL puts spices on the pizza with really made for a good pizza. The pepperoni did not taste like the standard bulk variety (thought it might have been); instead it tasted like something you would buy at a deli (not an Italian deli though). In all, this was a very good pizza experience. We are going to get sandwiches delivered soon and I will probably raise my score.

I stopped by for dinner and ordered the Greek Lover Special Lamb Gyro which came with fries ($6.50). The gyro came well loaded with meat and veggie stuff and with a generous supply of feta cheese on top. It was served hot and it was good. The french fries came hot but were soggy with oil (either they were cooked in too cool an oil bath or re-fried to make them hot). At least with these fries there are no worries over getting a hair ball or constipation. The waiter and I struggled to be sure that we were on the same page on the order since he was English-challenged (maybe the problem Stephanie had...assumed they understood the order the first time). The restaurant decor is simple, bright and clean. The staff is friendly.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a new pizza place that delivered. These people left a hanger on my door, so I decided to try them. Glad I did, their food and delivery times are perfectly cromulent. Finally, gyros that don't suck in Columbia. I'm eating my way through the menu now. I would not hesitate to get food from here for my pizza snob friends from Philly.

I ordered a chicken gyro with fries and it was pretty good!

I used to eat here more often when I worked in the area, but yesterday brought me close enough to stop in for lunch. They have very solid individual pizzas here - 10" pies with a thin crust dusted with cornmeal for about $7. They also have good sandwiches and subs. For pizza, try the Greek - gyro meat, hot peppers, olives, and tomatoes. The straight up pepperoni is also good. So, nothing to write home about, but it is a nice local place with friendly folks, decent food, and reasonable prices.

They give less if you use a coupon. The food tastes pretty good. Pizza is good. However if you order any special or use a coupon, they cut the portions. Almost like its not a coupon at all. Their prices are already high, do they need to cut the portions too because of a $2 coupon on a $21 order? I went to pick up my food. They cooks put my fries up to be bagged. The manager sent the fries back and told them to take some fries out because I used a coupon. The coupon said nothing about small fries. They don't even sell different size fries. And like I want my food manipulated after its prepared. Worse thing is to do that in front of a customer. I mean, just give the customer the fries and coach your employees on portions when the customer leaves. My Gyro only had 2 slices on it. I wonder if I didn't have a coupon if it would have more? Would pizzas have greater portions of toppings? Do they cut corners everywhere if you use a coupon? Is it really a coupon if they give less food? I ordered pizza there on Saturday and I liked it so I thought this would be my new regular place. I am never going back to a place that seems so dishonest.

I used to go here a lot on my lunch break, it's in a little strip mall. The woman who takes your order is very nice and will remember you after a couple visits. Always nice to be welcomed. They don't sell pizza by the slice, but the small size pie is more than enough for one person. It's pretty good too; nothing authentic but a decent meal to grab for lunch. I don't really like the name, Santa Lucia, this sounds way more Greek (?) than it is... it should be Grab in Go Grill or something to that effect. It's got a nice selection of gyros, pizzas, and burgers. There are a bunch of tables and during mid-day it gets busy in here. You might stand in line but your wait to tell them your order won't be long so don't worry. You get people from all walks of life inside from construction workers, to guys in suits. My only complaint is a couple times when I've been sitting, enjoying my food some peoples conversations were just incredibly loud and obnoxious. I don't know about you, but I try to not curse in public around others too often. This is unnecessary and kindof has spoiled these occasions I've eaten here. 2 stars might be a little low, probably a 2.5-3, but it's not really anything special. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to Santa Lucia but it's a good little option to stop in for some lunch if you're nearby.

This pizza is awesome! I always eat entirely too much of it because it's so good I just lose the will power to say no to more! I've not been in the restaurant besides to pick up a carry out order, but I will eat here pretty much any time it's suggested in a heart beat (too bad it will take away who knows how many heartbeats per bite)!

  • Stephanie D.

If you want what you order...I suggest you don't order from here! I have tried ordering from this place a few times only because it is one of the only sub places by my house...everytime I order from here I wait 45 minutes to receive something I didn't order...always the right sandwich never the toppings I order...tonight was the final straw I will NEVER order from them again! I received my sub smothered in black olives...something I never ordered because I am highly allergic...I called them immediately and was very nice but was told to pick them off and there was nothing they could do because they closed at 9 (it was 8:55) and they would credit me money under my name in the computer...well I went hungry and lost the money because I wont order from there again... so if you want what you ordered I suggest check the order before delivery guy leaves or go somewhere else...

Solid work day lunch desitination if you work in the area. I've found that most of their options are satisying. I actually like the pizza a lot, but what the hell do I know ... I'm from California. However, recommend that you not limit yourself to the pizza - the sandwiches are excellent - bread is fresh. I really like the Italian Combo. Easy to have a good meal for ten bucks and the staff is friendly.

My wife and I have been eating from Santa Lucia since 2004. We usually get delivery on Friday after work around 5pm. The food always arrives hot and fresh and normally comes within 40 minutes. They have a 10 inch pizza that will definitely quell the appetite of a grown man and a wonderful selection of subs. I highly recommend the 12 inch Philly Cheese Steak with everything. We have occasionally dined in the restaurant and each time are met with a friendly smile and courteous service. The bathrooms, tables and floor are usually very clean and there are a number of good seats with a window view. The fried mushrooms are great, but can sometimes be over fried. If you're new to the Savage / Jessup area, or just looking for some good delivery, I definitely recommend Pizzeria Santa Lucia.

This is a decent place for pizza in the area. Pizza was slightly above average, wings were OK. I'd eat here again though I'd not go out of my way for this place.

This is the most delicious white pizza I have had in ages. I think I crave it now, which does not bode well for my summer body. Seriously, this may be an Italian pizza joint in a strip mall staffed by mostly Hispanics, but I speak Spanish and it's delicious! I ordered a 'personal' 10 inch white pizza, my husband had a gyro with fries. This white pizza... oh my goodness. I wish there was a scratch and sniff yelp option because words alone cannot do the flavors, seasons or sauce justice on this baby. My husband said his gyro was good too. His fries looked good, but be warned "cheese" fries here means liquid nacho cheese not cooked shredded, if you're into that sort of thing.

I've been ordering here for years. I usually get delivery and the same order, a cheese steak. Call me a creature of habit. Anyway- customer service is always great, delivery is fast and I've never had one single issue with the food.

I know that I keep reviewing this place, but they keep surprising me! Tried their manicotti today and it was top-notch. This place really pumps out good food. I'll be trying something new next time, but I bet its good!

This place seemed like a good option while trying to find something quick to eat on my way home. It is a small place, but it is moderately clean and the staff is responsive. I ordered the gyro and fries to go, was a bit pricey, over 10 bucks. The gyro was tasty, but could tell that it was not the freshest thing in the world. The fries were a little greasier than I like, but fine. The menu is pretty huge so Im sure that are a lot more things for me to try that would be yummy. I will give this place another oppurtunity to impress me soon.
