How is it that I've lived in Frederick for almost 10 years and I've never heard of this place? I was talking to a friend the other day about Fractured Prune donuts and she said that nothing will ever compare to "the donut place in Jefferson". I looked it up and, sure enough, it does exist. Jefferson is so small; you could literally follow you nose and find this place; the delicious smells permeate the entire neighborhood. The shop is teeny-tiny, but it's packed with just about every baked good imaginable and it was so hard to leave without buying one of everything. In addition to an entire display case of donuts, they have an unbelievable assortment cupcakes, cakes, cookies, danishes, pies, breads, rolls and whoopie pies. The donuts were AMAZING. I got a powdered jelly donut and a glazed knot. The glazed knot was so fresh, it disintegrated in my mouth. The jelly donut was crisp on the outside and light and airy inside with a generous amount of filling that had actual raspberry seeds in it, unlike that thick, gloppy mystery goo that you find in most grocery store donuts. (note...the powdered donut is not recommended for in-car consumption. I was covered in powdered sugar from head to toe by the time we got home) We will definitely be back. I've heard good things about Hemp's Meats too and they share the same parking lot. We went on a Sunday; the pastry shop was open, but the meat market was closed. We'll have to check it out on a Saturday I guess.
So disappointed today! Special treats are rare.....so, we found ourselves up in Jefferson, MD today and stepped into the Jefferson Pastry Shoppe. We both ordered the Mini Turtle Cakes. Horrible!. Outside icing and caramel tasted artificial and the chocolate cake inside had no hint of sweetness at all. BIG disappointment!
The only thing I've eaten here is their donuts. Because I can't resist them. Ok, just kidding. I've had a couple other things, bread and something else. I can't remember. It was a couple of years ago. Their donuts are consistently the best I've had in Maryland. I wish the coffee here was of superior quality, though.

My wife and I have been eating here for years. We stop in for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Our waitress, Chloe, is excellent and has our drinks on the table before we ask for them. She always asks if we want the usual, and never gets the order wrong, even down to the type of jelly I want with breakfast. The prices are very reasonable and the service is always friendly. The food is also very tasty! We'll continue to go here in the future.
The French fries were raw, not once, but twice. Our waitress was mist likely inexperienced, so I blame management for not training her. A waitress is the buffer between the kitchen and the customer. The food should never reach the table unless it has been checked. We also thought the prices were a bit high for what we ordered. No real bang for the buck. I wish Ingram ' success with those who like it, but it's just not what we look for.
Great old diner with a friendly staff and great food. If you want new, spiffy, clean etc. don't go here. Food is good quality.

The charming, historical log cabin structure has an outside deck area that is spacious, with tables, located next to a rambling creek. The interior has ample seating at the bar, as well as dining tables, and a billiard table. The menu offers typical bar food at reasonable prices. Expect classic rock and country music, along with casual attire. The tap beer, and liquor selection, is limited, as well as the bottled beer. Not sure of a wine selection. Well maintained, and clean. Ample parking, even for motorcycles. It is flanked by two, steep downgrade hills, which add to its lowland charm.

I grew up in Point of Rocks, MD and went to Valley Elementary school in Jefferson, which is how I know about Tresie's Pizza. We moved into Frederick when I was about 10, but even to this day (i'm now 27) this is my family's favorite place to get pizza despite having to drive over 20 minutes to get there. Don't be put off by the establishment. Tresie's is literally located in what amounts to a little white shack-like building that looks like it's seen better days right on the corner of the main intersection in Jefferson. Nothing has changed about the place in the 20 years we've been going there. That's probably why the food is so cheap. Nothing in or around Frederick has ever compared to the pizza you get at Tresie's. The crust is delicious, so is the sauce. Don't get extra cheese, they already put a ton on as it is - for those of you that don't like a lot of cheese on your pizza you may want to ask them to go light on it. Frankly, Tresie's Pizza isn't just the best in the Frederick area, it's some of the best I've ever had period. Their french fries and onion rings are great too - be sure to give them a try.
Over priced. Run by teenagers who I can hear cursing in the back. Takes forever for mediocre pizza. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 just go up the road a few more miles to any other pizza place.
It's the only game in town unfortunately. Teens probably like it okay but it doesn't compare to places in town like Ledo's and Il Forno or even Costco carry out.
