Excellent food!!!! We had a club sandwich and cheesesteak and both were delicious. Friendly service. Great place to stop on your way to the beach!

I am not sure how this place is still in business. I can't imagine that we just caught them on a bad day. 5 of us went in for an early lunch on a Saturday. The place was not crowded so we ordered quickly. One of my friends had been there many times before, so he made friendly chat with them. Fast forward about 25 minutes (I wish I actually timed it) to get 2 simple breakfasts and 3 cheesesteaks. It wasn't only that the $15 for a cheesesteak, medium fountain tea, and stale chips was more than I have paid for most any sandwich outside of NYC, but it wasn't even good! The "not so good" roll was only partially covered with what appeared to be steak-umm brand steak and the cheese was flavorless. I am not alone in my thinking as the others that purchased steak subs agreed. The counter person received a monetary tip from each of us and did not even acknowledge it. We even had to clean our own tables ( or we may have left our trash there). Those that bought breakfast food said they were ok with their food and the price they paid, but I doubt any of us will return. It is sad overall. This kind of place at this time of year especially, needs to impress every customer that walks through the door...so they come back!

Excellent breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Worth a stop if you are riding by. Also great poet gory sticky whoppie pies.

Excellent will definitely go back. I had chicken wrap- yum. French fries great- got one size and shared. Son and family visiting from NC, they liked it. Would recommend. Want to go for dinner to get cabbage. Will also have market when veggies come in season. Also yum Smith Island Cakes!

Nice hometown type of place. Many of the locals are regulars, the manager knew Marty had the day off. I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich that consisted of bacon, egg and cheese on wheat toast. Tasted fresh out of a kitchen with "real" ingredients. Desserts looked delicious, I might go back and try them out. Be sure that you're looking for it on your way as you could easily speed by.

Let me just start by saying that some of these reviews seem very childish and ridiculous. I have been there numerous times and have been extremely satisfied. The food is fresh and the taste is great. The Chesapeake wings are out of this world! Being a new business, I understand that it can be a little slow at service sometimes, but it is fine. When you are waiting for your meal, they come around and give you a bowl of fresh watermelon and cantaloupe. This is a great place to eat! The people and staff are great and the food is delicious!

First time customer but we'll definitely be back! The food is amazing, the prices are more than reasonable, and the service was outstanding! The atmosphere is very friendly and it's clean! You can tell the owners take pride in their business and truly appreciate their customers. I highly recommend The Farmer's Wife!

We didn't go to the eatery but instead stopped to buy a pumpkin and stood looking in amazement at the huge pumpkins available. Also bought some jam and nuts. The staff behind counter are quite friendly and polite and the place is quite clean and has a lot of different vegetables available.

The Farmers Wife happens to be a regular stop for me. I have always been met with a smile and I am very satisfied with the quality, price and variety of delicious, fresh choices! I love the fact the owners are local folks from our community. I have used their catering as well, for a birthday party, they were prompt and gave me great service. What more could you ask for... and BTW the baked goods are dynamite! Great family eatery and you can buy fresh produce in season, on the way out. Enjoy!

This is a general sandwich place that seems to epitomize the averageness of Eastern Shore food offerings. Prices seem very reasonable. I got a chicken salad sandwich on my first visit and was pleased. The homemade chips were not crisp and were tasteless with no salt. They should just serve bagged chips or a different side. Came back for a second visit around 8pm one night where all the outside lights/signs were on with the door open. I had actually passed through Salisbury to get something at this place. I entered and was told they were closed, even though they were still cooking. It seems like this place is trying to be more but hasn't really reached the potential of what it could be for such a well traveled spot.

I buy my produce here. The quality is awesome, it's all local and fresh. I come here regularly because it's often late when I'm going by and all the other farm stands are closed. The Farmer's Wife stays open later than most which is convenient for those of us who get off work late.

We've stopped several times on our way to and from the Chesapeake Bay. Service is great. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the food is fresh and made to order. Very happy to have this restaurant as a fast (but much better !) alternative to fast food stops along 50. Produce has also been fresh and priced well.

"We were flying down the highway when we saw this place and pulled in. Wow! Homemade potato chips, scrapple, turkey club (awesome) and homemade macaroni salad. Try the special desserts. This place is great."

I have to say I was very disappointed. The portions are very small for what you pay for. I don't like that they serve old bay chips for the children's side, all 3 of my children didn't like them. I would have gotten the French fries instead, but they are very overpriced. I had a roast beef and spicy cheese wrap, I asked if the roast beef was rare and was told yes, well it wasn't rare and there was one piece with a bunch of iceberg lettuce and cheese that tasted like American. My daughters ate the mini hamburgers, they said they tasted like McDonald's. My husbands hot turkey and cheese was good, much larger than what I got, and I believe if was less money.

I will not be returning. I have passed this place multiple times and thought why not give it a shot. The food was greasy and tasteless. The "boardwalk fries" were freezer fries. The chicken strips we got for our daughter were over cooked and not hand-breaded. Overall a very disappointing experience.

This is a new local eatery where Chicken Man used to be located. I was excited that a new restaurant was opening there and that it was not a chain. Out this way, there's not many places to go out to eat unless you consider Subway or Royal Farms as fine dining. The first thing I noticed was a severe lack of tables on the inside of the restaurant. After we were seated, another couple came in and they had to bring a table and chairs from the outside. There is definitely more room for tables or booths inside the location. There was way too much open floor space. The restaurant is in a self service format where you order and pay at the register but if you are eating in, they bring your food to your table but in "to go" boxes. Since there are no servers, there is no tipping. I had a "plain jane" burger (5.99) with a small "boardwalk" fries (3.49) while my companion had a special, ham, cabbage and potato (11.95). My burger was a fairly small 5 oz patty (which they disclose on their menu) and it was properly cooked with just a small hint of pink inside. The burger ingredients were fresh. The ketchup packets were Hunts which for me is a turn-off. I am a loyal Heinz person. The burger was packaged in a to-go box with these seasoned potato chips. The seasoned chips had a very burnt aftertaste. I think they may have been the Old Bay seasoned chips. (Old Bay is very popular here on the Eastern Shore). The size of the fries was very generous. I was expecting less for a "small". The fries were in a burger sized Styrofoam to-go box. The "special" was not very special though. It was packaged in one of those larger to go boxes (the kind with the one big slot and the two smaller ones) and the entire 11.99 serving only took up the big slot. The potato that came with the meal was smaller than a golf ball bordering on a large marble. My companion left the restaurant still hungry. Drinks are done through self service fountains. It's Pepsi, which pretty much has the market on independent restaurants. The tea is freshly made and coffee was fresh brewed. The floor throughout the restaurant is made of hard wood. Because there was no mat around the fountain area like many restaurants have, I almost had a slip and fall accident in the restaurant as I did not see liquid from the fountain that spilled on the ground. As a local, I was very disappointed by The Farmer's Wife. I feel that they are trying to cash in on the US-50 crowd that goes from the western shore to Ocean City but I feel that they are doing this at the expense of the locals who will be patronizing them year 'round (if they plan to stay open year 'round). I felt that I did not get much value for the $20+ that I spent there when I could have continued a few minutes to Royal Farms and got a chicken family pack for just over half the price of what I spent at The Farmer's Wife. The people were very friendly and I would give a 4 out of 5 for speed of service. We waited normal length of time for this type of restaurant. Until this restaurant improves the seating, improves customer safety and is a little more generous on portion sizes and is an overall better value, we will not be coming back any time soon.

Great food, great price. First time there, extremely clean and everyone was friendly. I got the roast beef Panni, hug and delicious on whole wheat. Meat is sliced nice and thick with local tomatoes to die for! Husband had the turkey Panni (special) with Brie, green apples, Carmel which was also top quality. All was served with hand sliced potato chips made to order lightly kissed with old bay. Highly recommend stopping by before you hit the beach!

I liked it and will go back--probably not an all the time place, but good for a fairly quick quite good casual dinner. I'd love to try their breakfast. Nice service--very friendly and fits the place well. Good dessert options. My daughter loved the chicken pot pie--I thought it was so-so, but it's not my thing. My cheesesteak was great--good sauce. My wife loved her apple, brie, turkey panini. Price was good--not really cheap, but a good range of options.
