The cake was gorgeous, and absolutely delicious! My whole family agreed it was the best tasting birthday cake we'd ever had. My daughter chose yellow cake with buttercream icing, but there are many flavors and combinations to chose from. This is my go to bakery for any special occasion.
Ordered a sheet cake for a special event - we were very pleased with decoration and the cake was rich and moist.
My father-in-law brought a devil's food cake with buttercream frosting out to us in Western Maryland for my wife's birthday. Fortunately, he brought a small cake and took some home or I'd still be eating off it like a rabid animal. This is the best cake I've ever had and henceforth will compare all other cakes before me to Rita's.

Amazing! We had our wedding here a week ago and everything was beyond perfect. Jo was there taking care of things from start to finish. Also, the wedding planning was a breeze and so much less stressful thanks to her! I cannot say enough about how amazing (not to mention beautiful) this venue is! So personal and they think of literally EVERYTHING. Also, the guests could not believe how amazing the food was :) Thanks again for making our wedding day a magical experience!
It looked like a pretty nice b&b but unfortunately they put us in the overflow house across the street. While the room was huge, it felt like we were staying at someone's apartment. It was clean and had a full kitchen, but the window ACs looked poorly maintained and it was just a weird vibe. All that aside, the woman who greeted us was really nice and the breakfast was excellent. The main house was very charming. I would just avoid the overflow house if I was trying to have a nice weekend away. Parking seemed easy on the street.
Fantastic food and rooms!!! Very accommodating and hospitable staff. Clean and good service

Very cute house in a great central location. Carol and Lisa took care of all of my needs, and went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. Between the constant cookies, delicious breakfast and ice cream recommendations, I think I gained a few pounds! I do appreciate that the room had a TV as many B&Bs do not.
I really wanted to love this place from the Yelp reviews and website. Official web-site pictures are not what you get. The pictures add lighting and a sense that this is a well-taken-care-of mansion. Upon our arrival, the mansion appeared cold and dark, unwelcoming. There were cuts along the staircase wallpaper on our way to the bedroom. The artwork seemed very Disney's Haunted Mansionesque. We stayed in The Swan Room. The mattress was very old, stiff, and sunk in the middle. But what was worse were the great big windows were locked, so we couldn't get fresh airflow, which made the room very stuffy. Where were the people? The town seemed vacant altogether. Although we had high hopes for Spencer Silver and Havre De Grace, we ended up leaving a day early out of necessity. The gem of our stay was the neighborhood little corner French macaroon parlor. And the property cat was pretty cool.
The Spencer Silver Mansion is our favorite bed and breakfast anywhere. We're lucky in that we have numerous family living in assorted places between Baltimore and DC, so we've gotten to know Havre de Grace well as a great stopover on the way down or back, and if we can possibly do a night or two or three at the SSM we always do. It's SO relaxing to unwind in one of the sitting rooms or sit by the fireplace. Carol is the most awesome hostess imaginable. She is a wonderful cook and serves exactly the kind of breakfast we love to eat, keeps the cookie and chocolate plates in the hall filled and coffee and tea is always available by going down to the lovely table downstairs and making yourself one. And I always sleep like a rock when I'm there. If there ever was a 5 star B & B the Spencer Silver is it!

Excellent food and wine. They seemed to be understaffed on a Sunday afternoon. Our waiter was less than attentive and the service was beyond leisurely. Dessert was not very good but the Cubano and Turkey Cranberry sandwiches were spot on. We would definitely go back.
So happy we found this place. The wine list is impressive and very affordable. The cheese plate was beautiful. What we thought was part of the plate design was actually balsamic vinegar and other sauces made to look like a bunch of grapes. Very pretty. Seating in the courtyard was nice until two spiders decided to build their webs above our heads. Yeah, we decided to cut our visit short because of this. Even though we all agreed how spiders do serve a purpose in killing mosquitoes, having them dangle above our heads was not comfortable. Will we come back again? Absolutely!! Aside from the critters, the wine list is impressive and the service was great. Maybe we will sit inside the restaurant on our next visit.
Another great food find in Havre de Grace! The wine, the food, the ambiance, the service...all top notch!

Reviews:
I first came to China Palace eight years ago and it has been a regular stop ever since. The food is consistently very good and the staff is always courteous and very attentive. China Palace does a huge amount of delivery and takeout business. There's always someone coming or going. The dining room is a little quiet but don't be pit off by that. It is very comfortable and neatly maintained. The food is really well above average. A personal favorite is the General Tso tofu. Not too fiery hot and overall a pretty tummy choice. Try the Szechuan Green Beans, too. I hesitate to tell you that because i want them for myself, but it wouldn't be fair. Deelish! So check the Palace out. whether it is for takeout, delivery or a dine in experience. You wont be sorry. Or hungry after.
Another great meal. On a trip, we ended up here again by accident. We enjoyed ourselves so much last time, we came back. The kids enjoyed a pu pu platter and the wife and I enjoyed General Tso.
Since moving here 6 months ago, this is by far the best Chinese takeout we've found in the area - and we've tried them all! Prices are good for the quality & quantity. Favorite dishes are sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein, veggie egg foo & General tso's tofu. The soups are also quite tasty. Prompt and courteous delivery as well - you won't be disappointed.

Incredible donuts, home made in their bakery in the back, and cheap! $2.50 for a half dozen. They make a Smore donut with homemade chocolate icing, with marshmallow creme filling - so good. They also make little tarts (small pies) and danishes that are bigger than a saucer - and they are also phenomenal. My son and I go every Saturday morning, on the way to the Farmer's Market downtown, and it is not only delicious but what father-son memories are made of. It is also nice to know we are supporting local business, owned an operated by the same family for 80-some years. I know why they have lasted this long - it is delicious!
Best eclairs in the world, period. Excellent donuts, pies, cookies, raisin bread, etc. Incredible prices, friendly staff, family-owned. An iconic Havre de Grace treasure.
I've been going to Goll's for treats for years. I love the cookies, smearcase, and the peanut butter brownies are my kryptonite. The place is small and often runs sparing on inventory towards the end of the week because they are closed on Sundays. It's a family bakery so they strive to keep the prices reasonable, almost cheap, compared to other bakeries not located in Harford county. I rarely say this but this is honestly a gem, just get there early to get a good selection.

Absolutely loved this course! This is a fantastic day of golf. We did a "brother's outing" here and we had some odd/special requests. They handled them all perfectly. We had caddies and they were fantastic. the staff was incredibly friendly. They made up a bag tag for my father who wasn't even playing - just riding along. nice touch! The course itself if gorgeous. The online scorecard scared the crud out of me. It seems they added a "gold" set of tees since it originally opened. (Black, Gold, Blue, White, Red). My younger brother and I played from the golds and my older brother played from a mix of white and red. He would have liked to see a "green" forward tee in between the white and red tees. I'd have to agree that it seems like a need.... however that would make it a total of SIX tees... seems like a ton to me. Heck... 5 seems like a lot. But the course is pretty fair for the most part. It definitely helped to have caddies. We did what they told us and avoided a lot of Pete Dye's traps - of which there are many. The only hole that felt a little "much" to us was 18 - which is just crazy-long for a par 4, and there's water all down the left hand side. Yikes. We expected the round to take about 4.5 to 5 hours. It took far less. We were only a 3some but we didn't play fast. Never saw the group behind us and barely ever saw the group in front of us. Never waited on a shot after the 1st tee. Staff was super friendly. The guys at the pro shop were great and very welcoming. The cart-girl was incredible. I was starving and went and grabbed food from her and then suddenly realized that my money was in my golf bag with my caddie - who was about 100 yards down the hole at that point (she was driving the course in reverse so it wasn't a simple thing to just drive up to him). She just said it was no problem and that she would get me on her next go-around. Maybe other people see that as normal but it was first for me - and I've been golfing for over 30 years! We ate a meal after the round in the SILKS restaurant above the club house. We got $5 vouchers (1 per person) through the pro shop) so the meal wasn't too pricy. They food was good. The fries were AWESOME. The beverage selection seemed good and we enjoyed ourselves. I think this is a great course and it's worth putting on your bucket list. Our caddies told us that the fall is the best time to play because the leaves change color and the place just becomes a visual masterpiece. I played in July and it was pretty friggin' nice. I highly suggest walking the course if you can. I didn't score overly well, but at least I finished with the same ball I started with. :) great day. great course.
I can't say much about the golf here but can say something about the food. After a night of drinking at Duclaws, a few buddies and I went to Bulle Rock since it was near one guy's condo. When we sat at the bar, we were quickly served by Mike and given menus for food. Definitely had some interesting choices - I settled for a junior burger since I didn't want to have a lead bomb in my gut and the other friends had the crab pretzel and lobster bisque. I also had the french onion soup but wasn't overly impressed with it - it was par for FOS. Since I still have six more months assigned to Aberdeen, I'll be sure to stop by if I have to crash there overnight. Not bad at all.
This is the first ever Yelp rating I've written. This is a beautiful golf course that was no fun to play and an overall lousy experience. I've played a lot of Pete Dye designs and so many of the elements were familiar. A few of the holes were a little tricked up but, again, that's not uncommon with a Pete Dye course. Greens and fairways were in great shape. What unsuspecting golfers should know is that the fescue rough is kept long enough so that you cannot see your ball unless and until you are right on top of it, which is even more of a problem when you are hitting a blind shot, (and there are quite a few of those). We spent a ton of time looking for golf balls just off the fairway and around the greens and nothing is more disheartening than a lost ball when you know you were just a few feet or so from the fairway. There are no intermediate cuts of rough so if you're not on the fairway or the green, your ball won't be visible. This problem is further aggravated by the cart rules which seem to have been drafted by a team of lawyers. No carts shall be driven in the rough except as required to get to the fairway and short of the black rope line (which in at least one case was 200 yards from the green) and at designated points of ingress etc. On 8 of 18 holes carts were confined to the path. The marshall had the demeanor and visage of a prison warden, neither friendly nor helpful. With the carts kept on the path for so much of the round, distance calculation was a huge challenge. There are no distances marked on the cart paths nor are their any visible stake markings. Very few of the sprinkler heads are marked. Instead, there are 200, 150 and 100 yard markings on the ground in the fairways. While the carts were equipped with navigation/gps screens, only one of ours was working and that's of limited value when you have to keep the cart on the path. So, you have to carry 3 or 4 clubs with you from the cart and hope that one of them will the right one. One or two staff members were friendly but most were utterly indifferent, as though we were a bother. We arrived well in advance of our tee time but I had to track someone down to find out where the driving range was located (it is nowhere near the clubhouse/pro shop). This is not an inexpensive course to play and it was all but empty when we played so you would think staff would make an effort to be welcoming and helpful. Sadly, that was not the case. I wouldn't go back and I can't recommend the place.

Hey! This place is as authentic as it gets. Second visit and we were all pleased w the service and the food. $3 tacos you can easily turn into two so order three and eat 6. Cris is doing it simple and doing it right. Nothing fancy but really tasty. Watch that house sauce. Its got a kick Definitely on my list of regular stops and it should be on yours too Total win.
We were pleasantly surprised with the food here. We are pretty discerning with our Mexican food, and this place may be what we need to keep our tummies happy. It's nothing fancy, it's your typical hole in the wall joint, but the food was good! We ordered the guacamole to go with our obviously house-made chips, and it was pretty tasty. We prefer our guac a little more chunky with onions, tomatoes and some more kick, but it was still a good flavor. My husband got the steak burrito and thoroughly enjoyed it, the whole thing was devoured in about 5 minutes. I got the Torta Cubana, which came on an authentic roll, not a hamburger bun, and had a great blend of flavors. None of the meats overwhelmed the other and it just was super yummy. Their red and green sauces are creamy, with a bit of kick and well worth trying out.
First time in here - def not disappointed and will return. Tortilla chips before the food came out were delicious and clearly made right there in the back. Fajita meats were perfectly seasoned and the chicken taquitos were solid. This is a great addition to downtown, hope it sticks around for a while!

I have to give Price's 5 stars because the food and the service are excellent. Ronni has been my server most of the time and she's great but I haven't been there in a while. It's a little drafty in the winter but most places are, and the building is older. On to the food. Crabs have always been excellent and the one day I didn't get them it's because our server told me they weren't too good that day. I appreciate the honesty. No big, there's plenty of other great food on the menu. Aside from getthing the crabs (Price's spice is amazing too) the crab cakes, imperial crab (although they didn't have it last few times I was there, Mac & Cheese-holy moley!, coleslaw, any of the fish is cooked perfectly. I know I've had more but there's nothing on the menu I wouldn't order. most of the time I'm concentrating on cracking crab though.
I love the nostalgia of this eatery. Nice being close to the Susquehanna River while here, the food is always pleasant and intellegent servers who know what's on the menu. I should go here more often. You need to have a couple of hours to relax, have a good time and take in the atmosphere, etc.
Quick trip off 95. Decent view is Susquehanna River. Quaint old school Chesapeake Bay restaurant. Decent selection on menu. Fish Tacis were TERRIBLE and looked like something I could have made at home. Service was reasonable, but not great. Prices were kinda high.

Definitely the best pizza place in Havre de Grace! Me and my 2 daughters have a pizza and movie night at least twice a month. The pizza always comes from Nonnies. The crust is done, the cheese is melted and bubbly with the right amount of sauce. Every once in a while we splurge and get Fries, which are awesome! If you are in Havre de Grace and have a craving for Pizza, eat here!
Biggest burgers on a cheeseburger sub Ive ever eaten. Burgers tasted like real burgers not cheap frozen patties. Hubby had a Panini....plenty of food so be hungry for a Panini.
Food was very delicious. This is possibly the best pizza place in the area. Great sauce and everything was flavorful. Small interior but we always order out so not a problem. We will be a repeat customers.
