I love this place!!!! Best pizza, best subs, best fries!!! I have eaten at Johns literally my entire life and they are great. The place burned down and has been rebuilt and updated. Now it is a sit down place too! It is a family owned business with Ms. Pat still working there- she hadn't seen me in 15 years but when she saw me she knew me. Worth the trip!!

12 dollars for a combo and they don't wear gloves.. Seriously gross. Put on some gloves, people can see you bare handing everything.. That's how people get sick.. I don't understand the presentation. I mean some genius this john guy is.. He took a shit ton of cold cuts and layered them atop a piece of bread and then put a bunch of other crap on top and called it a sandwhich? I think John's real intent is to ruin peoples jaws.

The Johns italian combo sandwich is not user friendly... It's literally an open faced sandwich PILED in excess with cheese, cold cuts, lettuce and tomato. It's frustrating becAuse unless you can dislocate your jaw you cannot eat this like a sandwich. It has enough filling for four sandwiches... It's a giant sloppy mess. People in other tables around us were complaining about the sandwich too. "I'm just going to pack this up because I can't eat it." Yes everyone likes sizable portions for what they pay, but no one wants to eat a sandwich with a fork and knife or getting lock jaw and food all over themselves in an effort to eat a sandwich as it is supposed to be eaten. My boyfriend asked the person behind the counter why they would make a sandwich this way... She said other people have complained about the sandwich too but that's how they make it.... I'm wondering why would you continue to make something if #1 you are wasting your own product (excess meat..) and #2 your customers are not happy with it. Glad I live in NY where People actually know how to make an Italian combo sandwich. Also heads up they don't use gloves.

This place had AWESOME food and specifically fries (i'm the king of fries) before it burned down about 10 years ago. I stopped going, it's not so good now. Too expensive, and I saw an employee smoking outside with gloves on. Seriously?

Good food but a little pricey for the family. Would be happier with smaller portions and lower prices. Never ordered anything I didn't like. The cheese and raviolis are my fav, hubby likes the spaghetti with meat sauce.

great sub's, decent pizza, and some great employees. the owner is a cranky old lazy thing but they employee some good people. some of the best sub's in the are and decent pricing with the exception of the shrimp salad. done get me wrong the shrimp salad sub is as good as the rest but the price is ridiculous. everything else is priced decent.

Ordering an Italian Cold Cut from John's Italian Deli is like walking through a forest thick with overhead and suddenly coming into a open sunny meadow with butterflies floating and a summer breeze riding down your neck. John's Italian Deli is one of the few places near where I work and often frequent for my lunches whenever I eat out. Most times I order, it is one of a couple things and usually the ICC wins out. As Michele W. mentioned, the sub is large and packed with a blend of quality meats and cheeses as well as hots, fresh lettuce and onions if you prefer them. Sometimes the onions can be too much so take caution because they are generous with everything they put on there. The dressing is plentiful and an excellent blend for the sub. My second favorite from John's is the Chicken Salad Sandwich. As a fan of chicken salad, I enjoy their offering because once again, they are generous with everything they offer and the sandwich can be in upwards of 4 to 5 inches thick. The catalog of foods offered is the usual for an Italian takeout although they do offer places to eat on the premises with booths and tables. Next to the checkout is a place for soft drinks and on the other side, a dessert and sides refrigerated section with deli items such as potato salads, rice pudding, and more. The in-dining is very casual and they offer tv's for viewing if you so please. The staff is always friendly whether I visit the deli or have the lunch delivered. If you are in the neighborhood and would like to let your tastebuds flutter with flavor and enjoy a bit of sunshine, give John's Italian Deli a try.

BEST chicken Parmesan sandwich and pizza in Baltimore. Period. The people behind the counter (friendly as can be!) say they make the sauce themselves. I believe it. Do not miss this place. My only regret is that the location is far from anything convenient in the city.

Great food and service. The best Italian Cold Cut ever. In fact all the food I have had has been really great and the portions are large. My company orders from John's for client meetings and everybody (clients and staff) always compliments the food.

No one in the Baltimore area makes a better cold cut. It's huge, satisfying, and dressing is the best around. The staff is great, the food is amazing - it's really a hidden gem. If you find out you have days to live, eat a cold cut from this deli and you will die happy!

I can't believe the Baltimore crew hasn't checked in or reviewed this place. John's deli is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. Fresh subs, salads....DELICIOUS pizzas, and hot subs made to order - be prepared to wait a little longer for the hot subs! The Cheese steak with provolone is my favorite. It has a down home feel - staff are so cool and welcoming! I love coming here for lunch. However you may want to go home and take a nap after!

I had the Italian cold cut combo (w/fries and a drink). First of all the sub is huge! Plate size..You can barely get your mouth around it :o ! and the fries are also a huge order. 2 people can actually split a combo and just purchase an extra drink. or do what we did and take 1/2 home for later :) The roll was fresh and the sub contained plenty of high quality meats and cheeses, hots, fresh and crisp thinly sliced onions, lettuce and tomato, mayo, and this amazing dressing with parmesan, oil, and spices. A perfectly balanced and tasty cold cut. The fries were not greasy, clean tasting, and had the right amount of crispiness. The staff is friendly. The place is small and their is limited parking. i heard that this place can be busy at times. we came at an off time (around 1:30) so we got a booth, ordered, and chowed down shortly after that...Oh, and you can get a side of gravy or cheese w/your fries! I suggest if you want a hooked up sub..try this place out! You will not be disappointed! Damn...I'm hungry now just thinking about it...mmmmm

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
