Outstanding pizza! Frank (owner) is passionate about his customers and product. You will not be disappointed, especially if you are craving traditional NY Style thin pizza.

Best pizza in Hagerstown, by far. Actually in the tristate area. Note that all Rocky's in Hagerstown and smithsburg are separate. We have tried them all and this is tops, by far. White pizza with tomatoes very good, also mushroom and pepperoni.

Great pizza and great staff. Very friendly and entertaining owner. Enjoyable time. The pizza tastes great, the owner puts his heart and soul in his pies. If up from NC again this will be our 1st destination.

  • Chizlum M.

Awesome pizza and awesome service. Thank you Yelpers. It seemed like the owner knew over half of the customers by name = tons of repeat customers. The staff went out of there way to accommodate the kids. The pizza is some of the best we have had in the area; we had 1/2 tomato and 1/2 jalapeño. Definitely a must stop if you are in the area like at the Outlet Mall just down the street. CASH only.

Tasty pizza. Crisp thin crust. A reasonable facsimile of New York pizza. Cash only.

Love this place. Most of all they offer delivery! While at my hotel, they would brig me lunch. I've had their pizza, children's spaghetti, nachos, garlic bread... They are all good!

Yelp led me to Rocky's this past weekend. Pizza was just right, not too thick crust and lots of cheese! Fries were pretty good and the side salad was great! I like salad with fun tidbits on it, and this one had lots to munch on. As you have probably read, no credit. This place was jumping, super busy inside, and sounded like they were sending out deliveries back to back.

Stopped here for pizza when passing through the area. The pizza was good. My 4 stars are for the pizza. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the facility was unsettling. I would give it only 1 star for that.

Great service. Very good pizza. Nice big slices and tastes like authentic Italian. We got hand tossed. They also have garlic, oregano, and Parmesan to shake on top. Decent prices. Nice full menu. Cash only. No restroom.

Best pizza I have had in not only hagerstown but anywhere in area. My son and I come here every time we go to western Maryland to go fishing. Also very inexpensive. Only take cash so remember this.

A local gem! This is where locals hang out, if Cheers was a pizza place then this would be it. Greetings to regular customers on this busy Friday lunch came think & fast. The pizza was great. Beautiful taste to the crust, the right mount of chewiness & the whole having to bend it in two due to droopage. Creaminess to the cheese & the right amount of zetiness in the sauce. Yep this is the place to get your New York style pizza. The place doesn't take cards! Unusual in this day & age. But the policy doesn't seem to be hurting their business.

My attention was grabbed when I heard the guy behind the counter say, "are you sure that is good?" I look over and see a young woman holding a half gallon of milk. She says, "yea!" The guy says, "are you sure?" She lifts the container to her nose and sniffs...two times. After a long pause she says, "yea, it's good", and pours the milk into whatever she was making. She says out loud, "milk lasts a long time." A minute before I witnessed the young man making my pizza submerge his bare hand into the jalapeno jar to grab a few peppers. I did not get a good impression of the cleanliness or food handling practices of this place. The pizza itself was pretty good. Tasty crust! Mushrooms were canned, which was a great disappointment.

Stopped here on our way home from a road trip and wanted something quick and savory to eat. The sausage pizza was just what we needed. $12 for a large one topping pizza. The staff was nice and helpful as well.

It was just OK thought the edge crust was a bit undercooked and chewy....maybe we just want pizza from home

Friendly service & good pizza ;-) Great hand tossed pizza!!! This place has about 11 tables for family sit down. We were from out of town camping near by and will definitely come back. Plenty of parking side & back. A little history w 3 Rocky's in-town, all used to owned by one guy, since been sold to different owners. Not all Rocky's are the same. Cash only w ATM across the street.

It was a small place easy to find on MapQuest. The Lasagna and Pizza was great. I am from San Diego driving through and found this small local place. Great food outstanding people. The only bad thing is that you have to bring your cash, no credit or debit. If I find myself in the area I would definitely visit this place again five stars for my taste.

Well, i've found my local pizza place during my extended stay in Hagerstown, there's no need to look any further to meet my craving for NY style pizza.... This place has the whole experience of a locally owned corner pizza joint, the employees are friendly and they're dedicated to bringing you a good slice. It comes to hot and crispy, just the way I like it. Simple. Delicious. Spiced just right. So many other places mess up this simple formula....

in town for work and ordered a pizza. being from upstate NY ive had some very good NY style pies, and ive been going to baltimore once a year since 06 and never had a satisfactory pizza there. so right now i can say that rockys is the best pizza ive had in maryland so far. they nailed the NY style crust and the sauce was good too. it didnt stand out as amazing but it was good. i liked the sausage too, it was slices from a link instead of ground sausage. my only complaint is that it was smaller than i expected and a little pricey

Rocky's on South Potomac Street (not to be confused with the other "Rocky's" restaurants) is a true NY/NJ pizza joint that just happens to be in Hagerstown. We drop in frequently for a couple of slices and they are as good as anything you'd find in Brooklyn. The calzones and their subs are fantastic, too. It's cash only, but there's an ATM directly across the street. The inside isn't fancy, but it's clean and the staff's friendly. And there's definitely a NY attitude about ordering....know what you want before you step up to the counter. The daily special of two slices and a soda make it a go-to place for a quick lunch. If you like NY-style thin crust, this is the best pizza in the tri-state area.

Found Rocky's due to Yelp reviews and gave it a shot with my 8 year old for dinner on the way home from skiing. Called ahead to order so it was ready when we got there and staff was friendly on the phone. They were literally slicing the pizza by the time we walked in and paid. Best of all was... GREAT PIZZA! I thank them for making my plan come together with a delicious treat. We will make this our regular stop when we go skiing. Thank you to all those that posted to help me discover Rocky's.

One of the last opportunities to get good quality pizza as you pass the Mason-Dixon line, and enter the pizza-challenged (though pig/biscuit/tea-blessed) South. Or it's your first chance to get pizza as you head North, if you can't wait till you've reached pizzaland. It's worth a side-trip into god-forsaken Hagerstown. Cash-only, so be prepared. The dining area triptych of Don Corleone, the Twin Towers, and Frank Sinatra dressed as a cop are how you know it's gonna be good.

Found Rocky's on Yelp. Excellent choice. Pizza is terrific and available by the slice. Usually don't get sausage but it was excellent. Was surprised by the number of carry out orders while we were there. Definitely recommend! Very reasonable $.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
