Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

High Cholesterol at TGI Friday

Fat and calorie count are normally high at American diners and TGI Friday is no exception in that case. Too greasy and fried items will not only boost your calorie intake but also increase your bad cholesterol levels. You should make smart choices while dining at TGI Friday if you have cholesterol issues.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for High Cholesterol

I've worked at Friday's in St Louis and I love there food...I got some to-go food from here...Phone ordering was easy and seemless, staff member was friendly. Ordered the New York Cheddar & Bacon burger and my dining partner ordered the Jack Daniels Burger (both done Medium with Fries)...This time I was disappointed with the NYCB burger...I actually added some of my partner's JD sauce to add something to this otherwise blah burger...The one thing that gets to me about takeout is presentation...just because its packed for me to eat at home don't think what it looks like doesn't matter...this burger was pretty smashed down onion straws were pure grease on the burger (pulled off)...and for God's sake VENTILATE the container so my fries are not soggy!!! UGH!! Everyone has off days and I've eaten Friday's food so many times it's not typical and I will return at some point....

I have been to many TGI Friday's and this one is definitely the worst I've ever been to. I attended a Bon voyage dinner at this restaurant this month and it was a large party, probably about 25 people. There was notification made a week in advance that we were going to attend and they were totally unprepared. One server, and it took and hour to get drinks, an hour and a half for appetizers and about to hours before the food started coming out. At 2 and a half hours less than half of the party had their food and folks just decoded to start leaving. One by one people started settling their tabs and leaving and the staff wanted to argue with us about the food we had ordered and how it was going to be paid for....food that we hadn't received over 2 and a half hours after ordering. Turns out the server had actually only put the order in only 20 minutes before people started complaining and leaving.

It could be a lot worse or a lot better. My boneless buffalo wings were good. So we're my fried green beans. Husbands spinach dip not so much. The top it off they only gave him a handful of chips to eat all that spinach dip! We had to get more chips from the store.

I'm the standing duke as I write this email. Why? Work keeps putting me up next door when I come to College Park. It's open late. The menu is exactly what you'd expect. Sometimes they hook a live DJ up in here...and it gets noisy and crowded. I'd say horrid but everyone inside dancing is always nice and having fun. Hence A-OK by me.

3 of my coworkers & I met here for a late lunch (2pm) on Friday. We ordered appetizers that were slow to arrive but not anything egregious. It was a comfortable environment for adults but this location is not family friendly (language & noise). Food was just OK --had the Jack Daniels grilled chicken & shrimp skewers but Happy Hour was poppin!

This TGI Friday's location is the worst in the DC metro area. The service is terrible, and when your food arrives, its cold, or over cooked. I been to his location many times, and after my recent trip, I have no plans to go back. If you want to experience slow wait staff, watered-down drinks, and cold food....then this is your place. Never again!

The food is great here and get a stripes card because you save good with this! I give it 4 stars because the wait for the food was a bit long but besides that , everything was good! Also try the happy hour menu!

This place use to be nice but it turned straight hood. The music is so loud like a club, the night I went the bartenders weren't very friendly and one of the guys behind the bar actually began a conversation with a guy standing somewhere behind me so now there's two people yelling over my head... Ugh! The restroom, always nasty and it is always people standing around outside. If you go during the day it's probably not too bad but this is no longer my go to place for drinks and apps

  • John W.

Low review based on the head bartender. I was staying here within walking distance and this place is pretty much is like most descent Fridays, except for the head bartender. I was sitting at the bar waiting for my friend to show up. He shows up and we order several apps. We get another friend to show up and decide to move to a table in the bar area when this cat says the tables are reserved. We would have closed our tab with him and started a new tab if he was so concerned about a tip, but this guy lied. I can't go 1 star because the other employees were nice. I won't mention names but during football season, this person wears a Steelers jersey even when they are around the corner from RG3's backyard...

For the record, I'm a huge fan of Friday's so my experience on this occasion was painfully disappointing. We went for lunch on Friday, 3 adults, one preschooler and one toddler. The lackluster experience started at the door. The hostess's face had the enthusiasm Eeyore, the old grey donkey. No energy, no welcome, just a blank stare of "can I get you something?" After telling her the size of our party, she just walked off - presumably to clear a table - without communicating anything to us. She returned 5 minutes lately and quietly escorted us to the table. She distributed children's menus and finally spoke enough to give us the server's name and disappeared About those children's menus. Your typical children's menu is a four-color, 2 to 4 page coloring and activity handout. Ours was a one-page, B&W Xerox copy of such a handout, on 3-hole punched loose leaf paper. The kids activities and food choices were basically indiscernible on the page. Along with it were dropped 3 used crayons. Not even my 4 year old was impressed. The drinks from the bar were flat and watered down. (I even ordered a second rum & Coke for more data). Portion size was appropriate but the food arrived warm, at best. The fries had been waiting under heat lamps for who knows how long, and the queso dip was coagulating when it was delivered. I ordered the Friday's Shrimp, my sister the Korean Steak Tacos. The seasoning and taste were acceptable. Now, our server was good. She was friendly, helpful and responsive. She did mess up one drink order, but I'll give her a pass. Unfortunately she wasn't good enough to outweigh the overall experience. Not giving up on Friday's but will not be dining here again.

We went during lunch and it was busy. They gave us plastic ware to use as the real stuff was all dirty :-( Our waiter didn't come back by the table. The food was OK but nothing to write about. It will be a long while before I go again. The noise level makes it hard to carry on a conversation.

  • Chinga T.

The worst service ever! Music is way too loud! Our server was rude and sat next to us to take our order. She did that to everyone as a matter of fact! She over charged us by three drinks bc she took so long to get them to us and thought she had brought them. We told her we only had two drinks each and she took off one only. We said we want to speak to your manager, manager comes and says he can't do anything about, he said "I know it was three bc I poured them"....huh? You bartend as well? I saw him walking around and not serving. He backed his server and simply said "I'm not taking it off." Didn't bother apologizing for his inexperienced server. I hate this place!!!!

After about a 6 month boycott of all T.G.I. Fridays I decided to give it another try because the kids wanted to go. Before we even got our drinks I was reminded why I had boycotted to start with. It took about 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I was getting ready to walk out but the kids wanted to stay. The rest of the service was ok at best and food was average. Think is time to boycott for good.....

  • Tamika H.

Its average, nothing to brag about service and food is better at Fridays in other locations!

Love their spinach-artichoke dip but the service at this location is slow. Do not go here for lunch you will most likely be late getting back to work.

To whom it may concern; I just want to say that as a customer my visit to this Friday's location has been the worse experience in my life with customer service. On November 22nd a colleague and I walked into the establishment firstly we were not greeted nor did we have a hostess direct us to an table or the bar. Since no one was available we decided to sit at the bar. There was a minimum of 5 workers behind the bar talking and wallowing doing nothing of a sort. A worker then proceeded to service us poorly, by 1. Stating that we have to either start an open tab or pay up front because of the numerous "walk outs" SOLUTION to that is to have an hostess or two at the door, and not 15 people behind the bar. Secondly, the lady took our drink order, brought it to us, and never seen her again (she was chit chatting on the other side of the bar) Lastly, and the reason I'm truly writing is because when the server came out with my food he took it to the other side of the bar, and sat in front of a gentlemen who had no idea what this order was. They talked and gestured all over the food before he picked it up and proceeded to take it to another gentleman who again didn't know what this order was. I watched it all play out because I knew that it was my pasta that he was parading around the bar before he tried to bring it me... I will say he apologize for his actions however, he expected me to eat this food instead of taking it back. The manager was right at the bar along with a slew of other workers while this charade went on. I closed my tab and left this establishment as soon as possible because the entire crew need a refresher course of customer service, product knowledge, and mannerism in general. I will never visit this location again, and will be sure to yelp, and tell friends as well.

It's a Fridays! Busy one, too! Friendly service, basic decent chain food, good safe place to dine with my DC area elderly dad. Even with the very tame all-African American BIKER GANG hanging at the Friday's bar. Should I be scared? But there isn't a Harley in sight, (just those colorful plasticy Japanese bikes) and they're eating appetizers at FRIDAY'S!! Should be the coporate moto- Come to Friday's- We even make the Hell's Angels bland and family friendly!!! :)

We went here on a Thursday night and this place was one of the most lively spots I've been too in quite a while. Since it's a TGI Fridays it has the usual menu, service and quality so I won't bother commenting on that. What this place did have was a very fun, lively and crowed bar making it a very fun place to visit.

Service is inconsistent as is the food. The food is never great, at best just average, often below average, not hot. The Silver Spring location is better

this is the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant. dull hostessess, incompitent server, disinterested and unsympathetic management, lukewarm food. the entire experience was awful and honestly, I may never eat here again, anywhere within this franchise.

This TGI Friday's is unlike any other I've ever visited. After 7PM, it undergoes a miraculous metamorphosis from boring chain restaurant to ghettofabulous nightclub! How sad is it that Greenbelt's top nightspot is a TGI Friday's? I think it stole that dubious honor from the Jasper's down the street a few years back. In its day job as a regular old restaurant, this Friday's is alright. The service is pretty quick, you generally get what you ordered... basically, it does what a restaurant should do. It serves you food. Yay. But when the place transforms into a nightclub, all bets are off. Will you get seated? Will someone ever show up to take your order? If you're lucky enough to order, will the food show up correctly - if at all? Will you be able to hear anyone over the loud thumping bass or the screeching of karaoke night? I think I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it. I've generally vowed to avoid this Friday's on evenings and weekends. It's packed, and a total madhouse. To wait a really long time for a table or food is barely worth it at a really nice restaurant... and this is just a Friday's. Head up the road to the one in Laurel if you want dinner. The crime rate is much lower and you'll be able to enjoy a nice dinner in peace.

Serving, Food ambience everything is bad at this place. We are 7 people. 2 people sent their food back, 1 persons food was mixed up with other table. Cant see the waiter for ever. Bad Experience.

  • O A.

Absolutely disgusting, never seen a place where half the tables were left dirty because the staff was either too busy or too lazy to clean. Either way, unacceptable even for a chain restaurant. The fact that there were two cops working security also says a lot about the element that visits this establishment. JUST STAY AWAY, If you ever read and doubted a review on this site, don't let it be this one, you'll be sorry. Just the truth

My wife and i waited almost 1 hour for a seat after was told 25-30 minutes. Then after finally getting seated at our table we waited for another 15-20 minutes before the HOSTESS came over and asked if we were seen yet and got our drink order. When he returned we told him that we would like to see the manager and ask what the confusion or problem with the service was. When she arrived at our table she started and argument with me about how they were busy and and that I should not be upset. I told her that we were going to leave and just wanted to inform her about the problems at the restaurant and instead of offering an apology or anything continued to argue with me. We both got up and left. The hostess was great and deserves a raise and promotion. However the manager needs an good course in customer service. I have not eaten at a Fridays in about 5 years because of the bad service I had at a different location and this was definitely their last chance to ever have me as a customer. I will never visit any of their restaurants again.

Possibly the worst T.G.I. Fridays experience. I took my infant son and my wife on a Tuesday night dinner. It was our anniversary, and I was hoping to have a nice time with them. My wife ordered a black bean burger since she would not eat meat. Our food arrived a little late. The appetizer was fine, and my salmon was OK. My wife finds out, the burger is beef burger with hot peppers! In the mean time, there were no silverware or napkins provided for the appetizers ! We got hold of our waiter, and told him about the burger and the silverware - napkins. He apologized and took back the burger to the kitchen -- assured us the correct one will be out in a minute. This time around, after a long wait, a server brought my wife's replacement burger --- to our surprise -- this time, it was not only a beef burger, it had bacon on it!! -- she ordered a black bean burger - a vegetarian item. Almost an hour into the fiasco, I wanted to talk with the manager. The manager was nice, and offered us free food. I did not accept the free food. My wife had already lost her appetite. I paid for what we ate, and thanked them, and left the place. My wife started crying on the way back, and I felt really guilty for the entire experience. Thanks a lot T.G.I. for ruining what could be a perfect night out.

"What the heezy fo sheezy is this??? I can only order one drink at a time? Please tell you;re kidding." Yes, this is what I learned when I visited this establishment on Friday. Wack, Wack, Wack and more wackness for your bucks. On top of me only being allowed to order one drink after I fought my way through the mobs at the bar, there was this vagueness about where we could be seated without seeing the hostess (big question mark here). Anyhow, if you're looking for a quick cheapo drink after work and you could care less about customer service, stop on by. Otherwise, keep moving to the left and away from the mess.

I had the Caribean chicken sandwhich. Tasted too sweet. I think they doused it with jack daniels sauce. Came out with 13 fries (i counted them). I complained and the server apolgized and they brought out a basket of dries. Everyone was very friendly. I gave them 4 stars because of the fry fix.

I'm not sure why some people have written that this Friday's is "ghetto"...i'm inclined to think it's because the majority of people around the bar most evenings are black people. I think it's pretty sad that when a restaurant has a majority of black patrons, it has to be referred to as ghetto. Sad. How should I refer to the happy hour locations I patronize that serve majority white patrons??? See my point? So get a grip people!! Now onto my review....I enjoy this Friday's during happy hour. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way there to meet friends this evening. My only concern is there aren't black bartenders. Why is that a concern??? Well, considering they have many black patrons here who leave sizable tips -- why wouldn't they have at least one black bartender to show diversity on their part. As a patron, I would very much like to see a black bartender serving drinks and socializing with the patrons. I have no problems at all with the white bartenders they have -- they actually serve great drinks but it's the principal of the matter for me. Just my thoughts.

  • K S.

I totally agree with Freda. Although I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars, not because anything went wrong at all, I just think it's a little stretch to give any Friday's 4 stars. For the past 3 and a half years [since I've been out here for college], my friends and I had only patronized the Friday's in Foggy Bottom, even after we moved out to PG a year and a half ago. Reading the reviews and seeing there would be a different crowd here, I decided I wanted to try it out. Honestly, I saw absolutely NOTHING "ghetto" about this place, at all. Yes, the majority of the people were African-American, but "ghetto" [whatever that means in this context anyway] never once crossed my mind. The servers definitely slack more and have attitudes at the Foggy Bottom location. And I've also seen multiple arguments and fights there, where there is also an officer on duty, but no one calls that one "ghetto." But anyway.... This was one of the larger, nicer Friday's I've seen. The bar area was big[ger] and it looked newer than most Friday's I've been to. My friend and I got there about 10ish last night. I will say the place was live! It was kinda loud, but pretty cool for a Friday's to be like that on a Friday night. We wanted to sit at the bar, but we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. I could believe it, the bar area was packed! So we opted to just sit in the dining area and was seated right away...but then my friend changed her mind and decided we should wait to sit at the bar. Without an attitude, our menus were taken back and we waited to be called. After about 10 mins, we were taken to our booth in the bar. Now, let me tell you, the bar area is LOUD. So if you want quiet, you probably shouldn't come to Friday's on a Friday anyway. As I read in earlier reviews, people really do look like they're going to the club. I almost felt under dressed in my jeans, blouse and flat boots! I am positive people get dressed up to come to this Friday's and get chose. Our waiter came, and was very pleasant. He joked with us and helped us out as we made our orders for drinks. The special for Friday is some cheap rum and coke for 4 dollars. He advised we don't get it because it's cheap. BUT I am a broke college student soooo I ordered the 4 dollar CUBA LIBRE anyway! He brought back 4 glasses. 2 small ones filled with rum and 2 glasses of coke. He said, "I didn't know how much coke you guys wanted so I just brought it separately." We were pleasantly surprised. I guess because I was drinking before, I became a little absent-minded. Like 2 times he came over asking if we were ready to order and I just completely forgot to even look at the menu both times because I was talking so much. He was very patient with us, continued to joke with us and never once got frustrated. While I was half way done with my rum and coke, my friend acted like she was too good to drink hers so she put it to the side and ordered a Patron Rita. He brought it back and he offered to take her rum and coke back and take it off her tab. How nice! I must say, the Patron Rita was pretty great and definitely strong enough. Our food came, nothing special, the same food you get from any Fridays, but it was good. And we didn't have to wait forever to get it. He kept coming over to ask if we were good or needed anything else. We finished eating but sat around to just talk. We did not feel the pressure to pay our bill and leave, but left because I was finally tired. I did not receive an attitude from any staff or customers the whole night. There were no arguments, not fights, no one was mad. Everyone was just out there to have a good time. My friends and I will most likely be ditching the Foggy Bottom Friday's and making this out new spot. Next time I just gotta remember to wear my mini-skirt and stilettos. LOL

BAR AREA REVIEW +++ I know! I know! Am I really giving a Friday's a 3 star rating? Yes! It's not my fault. I tried to keep up the hate that I've had for this place for the last 5 or 6 years. I used to love it as a kid but as with most mid-level chains the quality had gone downhill. It started to seem like all of my meals were being nuked after sitting around for hours, so I gave up on them. Last night I was proven wrong. The bartender was awesome! She's quick, nice, and I hear she is an excellent drink maker. I order a Thai chicken wrap and I must say it was one of the tastiest wraps I've had in a while. The cucumbers were crisp, the tomato and lettuce were fresh and not wilted or soft, the chicken actually had flavor, and there was even some flavorful cilantro up in there. They serve it with a side of peanut sauce that was on par with the kind you get at a Thai restaurant. And the fries! They were actually crispy, hot, and sprinkled with just the right amount of what I think is garlic salt and pepper. These are the fries I grew to love when I was a kid. This place really is like a baby lounge. Before the DJ (Yeah, I said DJ) came on they were playing cool R&B hits. The atmosphere is lively and the people are wearing their cute work clothes, no seersucker up in here. You can see cute folks plotting on who is going to get what number tonight. It's hilarious. Someone said they changed the collages they have on the walls, so maybe this makeover can be explained by new management. All I know is Club Friday is actually not a terrible place to grab a bite and a drink. Who knew?

Steamed broccoli, and sweet potato fries. Its a win! I also saw a sign for ladies night. Interesting. I went here for my ladies who lunch outing last week, and was pleasantly surprised at the decor, how clean it was, and how friendly the service was.

***Bar Review**** I used to work next door a few years ago. This was the first place my coworkers and I could think of after work. With that being said I came here often and had some good times with my coworkers, so this bar will always have a special place in my heart. But this place is for the older folks, come with a bunch of your friends during happy hour. Other than that, there are other places in the area to get happy hour drinks.

***Bar Area Review*** Mmmmmmkay... My phone got stolen here. There were loud trannies when I went. Also lets not forget the mean black ladies who are over 30 and always having a loud bday party with all their "single but not alone" friends from church... The cotton candy martini is good but... The drinks are waaaayyyyy smaller than they used to make them. The food... it has gotten worse over the years. Thanks recession. Thanks. They could do better, however, mojitos are $4 on tuesdays, and I love mojitos. The 2 stars are for the mojitos.

Here for lunch the service started off shakey but picked up. I was offered chips and salsa since I'm a rewards member that took a bit as well as the salad. But they both came out nicely prepared. I do agree with other reviewers about the night life here is nothing to be desired. And these people had the nerve to loose my credit card with no apology never again! I want to give them a one star but this thing wont let me change it!

The year was 1994. Nancy Kerrigan cried, "Why?!" Kurt Cobain dies - was this the beginning of the emo era? Many cheered on a White Bronco. We found out that life was like a box of chocolates. And young people everywhere started their Friday nights with this jingle: It's Friday night and the mood is right We're gonna have some fun, show you how it's done TGIF! My favorite TGIF was Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. I also went to TGIF(riday's) for the first time and LOVED it. 14 years later, TGIF (ABC) lives on as a fond memory while I'm now completely over TGI Friday's. Food - I went here for lunch today with the wife. I ordered the Jack Daniel's Glazed Ribs ($17.29, yelp.com/biz_photos/VtMn… ), the wife ordered the Honey Pecan Salmon ($11.89, yelp.com/biz_photos/VtMn… ), and we both added the french onion soup (add $2.69, yelp.com/biz_photos/VtMn… ). And for those keeping score at home, yes, I had ribs 2 days in a row. The baby back ribs were not very meaty, especially compared to the ones I had at Longhorn just 15 hours prior, wasn't very tender, and didn't taste very good unless you soaked it in the JD sauce. FYI: I needed 3 JD sauces to get through the ribs. While the brontosaurus ribs @ Longhorn had 15 bones, the TGIF ribs only had 11. Very disappointing. The salmon, served with broccoli, was salty but the quality of the fish was acceptable. Still, the french onion soups were great and I drank the JD sauce again - they may as well bring it out in shot glasses rather than little sauce bowels. We ordered the brownie obsession ($4.89) - brownie made with Ghirardelli chocolate and ice cream, topped with caramel, hot fudge, and whipped cream (no cherry on top). The brownie is in an almost liquid state but it's delicious. Personally, I like my brownies chewy. The ice cream was shaped odd, almost like a slab of ice cream ( yelp.com/biz_photos/VtMn… ). Still, a good dessert and big enough for 2. Location - Very large with plenty of seating for groups. There's a happy hour at the bar from 4-7 Mon-Fri with 1/2 price appetizers - I recommend the JD chicken strips. The hours are also easy to remember, 11am-2am everyday, and you can expect Greenbelt cops to be there for security (and food) at closing time. There's been a massive fight almost every time I've gone after midnight, so unless you wanna relive your high school days when everyone stood up on tables to see the fights that broke out during lunch, I'd recommend staying away. Service - So we had 2 waters and just put in our order. We hadn't received any food yet and our server stops by and asks, "Is everything ok?" "Ummmm....yeah...." I should've said, "Actually, the water to ice ratio is unacceptable. Let me speak to your manager." Well, that probably wouldn't have helped much b/c the manager was delivering a salad and someone spoke into his headset and he replied, "Ok. Table 26." He looked around puzzled and did the, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" method and asked 4 different tables, "Did you order a salad?" And the servers now have personalized shirts that they design themselves rather than those enormous buttons. Was that an effort to be classier? I mean, can you get any classier than a 5" novelty button? I'd give this place 1 star b/c the prices have gotten JACKED up! $11.99 for the three-for-all, $4.69 for a bowl of soup and $2.69 to add it to a meal, and $12.59 for the flat iron?! Those are unreasonable prices for the quality of food you get. They also got rid of the Gold Points program and have a new program in place that sucks something awful. But I'll give it the 2nd star b/c I used to love it. Subpar food with laughable service - Did I do that?!?! Yes, you did, TGI Friday's. Yes, you did.

2.5 Stars, really. Checked it out for lunch. Place was nice and clean. Our large party for lunch was seated promptly. Very courteous staff and server. Our orders ranged from burgers. to sliders w/salad, to 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup, ribs, and sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Drink refills came on time just when you needed them. Overall, a nice stop for lunch or a dinner. Their menu has expanded and goes from appetizers to large rib and steak meals.

Service was less than stellar on our visit on 4/20/11. The waiter took around 15 minutes to even acknowledge that we were sitting there & the food was fine, normal fare for the type of restaurant. I wouldn't visit this location again.

Ok so I hail from the Chocolate City "Washington, DC" but I bring greeting from the entire "DMV" (DC, MD, VA) for those that didn't know that. This review is about Friday's but its also about there Brother/Sister resturants (those establishments that are similar in style and taste) I use come here on a regular basis..I mean it was nice, chill, relaxing...the food is good, you can hear yourself and everyone around you talk, the wait for your food was never long, I mean it was your All Americain Resturant, a really chill place to go all times of the day....but not anymore..... And this where the Horror begins....... So, I'm sure almost every (well at least most) state has a "T.G.I.Friday's", a "Jasper's", a "WOW Wingery" and other causal dinning restaurant such as these. Well I remember not to long ago these places were nice to drop in, have a sit order you a quick lunch, dinner and dessert and be on your merry ole way. Well now days I have notice a ridiculous trend in this "causal dinning restaurant" that after a certain time of the evening and nights (weekday and weekends)....that these venue are resturant/club lounge!!!!!! How ridiculous is that...I mean is the recession effecting businesses that bad that you have to turn your already establish local nice and quiet restaurant into a club/lounge where you have a Live Band and or a DJ, Karaoke, and the host home of your local Motorcycle Club.... now I love Music, I love Fun, etc. but I am not about to pay a $10 - $15 cover pay, show you my ID to prove I'm old enough to get into a what use to be a regular causal dinning restaurant that now wants to make some extra money and turn it into a club/lounge.....I think that is the stupidest concept. (oh by the way..did I mention that you have to still pay for your food on top of the $10 - $15 cover pay to get in. There are enough Lounges and Clubs in the DMV where we do not have make the local next door to people homes and school and where some of the underage kids come to enjoy a night out restaurant into club/lounges. Who bright idea was this and I wonder just how far there going to go with it...... What is this world coming too......

My first experience eating here was great. My party and I came in a little late and we were some of the few in the restaurant. The ribs were BANGIN'!!! I fell in love with them. Their mozzarella cheese sticks were great as well. The restaurant was clean and it seemed as if they had just remodeled. I have gone to the TGIF in Bowie and the food definitely tastes better in Greenbelt.

The restaurant part if ok. The food is decent. I mean if you want a professional meal you probably should not be c oming to a tgi fridays. I would not waste your time in the bar area unless it is during the day. it is way to crowded and to many fights.

Didn't know this was the place to be on a Sunday night. Came for a later dinner (after 8pm) and this place was packed! Seated promptly and our waitress got our drink orders in quickly. She took a while to return to take our orders (we needed more time), but I don't blame her. Saw her running around from table to table and it seemed like the entire time we were there all the new customers were seated in her section. Also seemed like she had to completely bus her own tables, which was weird. Can't go wrong with the Jack Daniels grill and my friend and I split the pick 3 appetizer. TGI Friday's is one of my go to chain restaurants, so I knew I'd like what I ordered. Would recommend if you come that you aren't starving b/c you will be waiting a while for your food. It was really loud in there so I had to read the closed captioning on the tv b/c I couldn't hear it. Think I will try this place for lunch instead.

Food was... Ok. Our serving of JD Chicken strips seemed pathetic compared to what we are used to. My French onion soup seemed to be missing onions. The bowl was only two-thirds full as well. Our server was sweet but slow. I don't blame her. She was new and I suspect poorly trained. Rather than bringing out all of our meals on a tray or two, she brought them two by two (for a party of seven) over a span of about 10 minutes. I won't go back any time soon.

A little newer than other nearby links in the chain, crowd is a bit less sketchy. Same lackadaisical service, but you gotta love the cheap booze on Thursday.

Short & Sweet Review ALERT!!!! I came here Saturday with my girlfriend for drinks and a quick lunch. I have been to this location several times and have never had any compliments or issues. The food is always good, the drinks are tasty, and the staff is very nice and smiley, which is always a plus when you go to any huge chain restaurant; consistency is KEY! This specific location has Happy Hour specials every day that they promote. They are served anytime of the day and you don't have to be seated at the bar to get in on the drink deals. I love it! My girlfriend and I both decided to try the NEW Blood Orange Cooler which is only $6 bucks. YES :D It was really refreshing but a little sour so if you don't like that, it may not suit you, but for me, it was pure perfection. It was like a sweet sour patch kid drink. Yum! For lunch, I had the typical 3-For-All with skins, Jack Daniel wings, and pot stickers. It was so freaking good!! My friend tried the smokehouse burger which looked so meaty and cheesy, and was topped with a smoke house sausage; I almost cried a little that I didn't order that. But then I took a bite of my pot stickers and calmed down a bit. Thank god for those amazingly tasty pot stickers! Ha, Ha! Over all, our server was great! Attentive, maybe a little too much, but I'll take that over a server I can't even find have the meal. This is a great location and this TGI Fridays is always consistent. Favs: Blood Orange Cooler Would Change: Nothing...great job guys! :D

The staff at the door is incredibly courteous, but sadly this was where the positive experience ended. The service was overwhelmingly slow (25+ minutes for an initial drink and appetizer order). When we asked for a change to the nearest TV to watch a specific game, the server asked us for the channel--this didn't make a difference because the game never came on. Appetizers arrived, but we were one plate short. It took a few minutes to get this resolved. We still didn't have silverware, however. About halfway through having the appetizer, another server quickly stopped by and dropped 4 sets of silverware for the group. We were considering entrees, but at this point, about 40 minutes into our visit, we decided instead to leave. This was unfortunate as the menu looked great, the space is relatively clean, but the service was really subpar. We won't go back to this location.

TGI Fridays is usually a hit or miss kind of restaurant for any kind of meal, but this place was definitely a hit. Our waitress, India (as she reminded us at least thrice), was very engaging and friendly. she made sure we had our food in a timely manner and that it was to our satisfaction. It certainly was. The wings were amazing, which is always a gamble, buying wings outside of Buffalo. My All-American burger was perfect. The bacon wasn't undercooked, there wasn't a huge mass of cheese on my burger, and it wasn't extremely runny with all of the different sauces. I ate around 5:20-5:30PM ish on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all, so I do not believe that a wait is common at this establishment. This place is definitely worth it if you are looking for a nice meal for dinner, single or with a gathering.

I've been to this TGI Friday's for lunch several times. In general, the food is relatively decent, but nothing to write home about. However, if I had to rate it on the meal I had today, I would give it 1 star. Today, I order the pecan-crusted chicken salad and it was... not good. The chicken looked unappetizing: it was dull in color and the "crust" looked soggy. Things got much worse when I tried to cut into it with my knife: the edges of the chicken breast were so hard that I couldn't even cut through it - and I'm not exaggerating or trying to be unnecessarily critical. Clearly, it had been microwaved for too long and the moisture had been boiled out of it. Of course, I complained to our server (who was very nice) and she brought me another piece of chicken. This one was much better (I could actually cut through this one without a chainsaw) but flavor-wise... meh. The salad itself left a lot to be desired: the lettuce wasn't fresh and neither were the mandarin oranges. And how can mandarin oranges not be fresh? They come from a jar, don't they? And the dressing seemed watered down, or perhaps there just wasn't enough of it. I don't go to Friday's to get a sublime gastronomic experience - I go there to get a decent meal at a decent price. Today, what I was served was just unacceptable and there's absolutely no excuse for it. This was a SIMPLE salad. How can you mess it up so badly? The fact that this plate was allowed to leave the kitchen is a clear indication that there's something broken at TGI Friday's and that either management doesn't care or is unable to fix these problems. Whatever it is, I will not be going back to Friday's for a long, long time.

Wow. This TGIFriday's has got it DOWN. Great greeting, friendly bartenders and solid yet unspectacular food. The bartender Kathy is one-of-a-kind and the manager Warren makes sure the restaurant flows like a well-oiled machine. Way to go Friday's!

I came here for a quick lunch. Just like all other reviews, I experienced awful service. Server came to order, then disappeared until we finished our food, when she came out to ask if we wanted dessert. The food is not even good. The food is not like other Friday's food. The sizzling chicken came out watery and not sizzling at all. It should be loaded with cheese but there was very little cheese in our orders. Please find yourself another restaurant if you decided to come here.

I gave this place a not so good review but that's for when your being served. There "to go" is on point a gentleman named Brian takes a lot of the orders he is super friendly and ain't give me a hard time when I wS being particular of how I wanted certain things. If your on the go get Friday To Go! Plus it was ready under 15 mins!!

We went Saturday night, it may be the reason why service was SUPER. SUPER. SLOW. Only the atmosphere and food were good; thus the two star eating. My group had 5 adults and one kid. We were seated after 10 minutes, and gave our order after another 10 minutes. We ordered five entrees and one alcoholic beverage (I think it was called blood orange cooler?). I ordered the flatiron steak with fries and spinach. We waited 50 minutes after putting in our order. Even the alcoholic beverage took 40 minutes. I can understand that it's Saturday night, but the wait was way too long and our server didn't give any explanation. Our server wasn't that attentive but was polite. The food itself was good, but wasn't hot. My steak was cooked perfectly. My friend's burger was supposed to be medium, but was cooked to well-done. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Overall, food was OK but service was extremely slow. Even after we paid the bill it took forever for our waitress to give us back the receipt and credit card. Won't be returning.

I'm sorry I hate this Friday's. I went to Friday's at 5pm on a Saturday. I expect a wait but not a 40 mins wait when they told me it was 15 min wait. The cause for the wait....a shift change. I'm sorry is a shift change a strange concept. I don't mean to be harsh but really? I was in the mood for Jack Daniels wings. Friday's get it together. I will never come back to the Friday's in Bowie, Annapolis Friday's here I come.

Just had a working lunch at this Friday's today. Went last week and was excited to see they had my favorite, Strawberry Fields Salad on the menu, a nice treat! I normally get it with the grilled salmon instead of chicken, added cost but worth. Unfortunately the service last week was horrible. The food for both myself and my lunch partner was made incorrectly and served cold. However I returned today for a lunch meeting because I just had to have this salad the correct way. Things started off dismal, no server after 15 mins waiting. I went to the bar and got the attention of one of the guys and explained we were on our lunch break and needed to order and requested if we could order from the bar. He apologized and notified our server. However, she did not come to our table and then it happened. He, Jameel W, came to the rescue. He swooped over to our table, and did his thing. He took our order, brought our requested drinks, apologized for the wait, gave us the expected prep time of our food, brought the food well before the time quoted, the food was hot and prepared exactly the way requested, brought extra napkins and a second glass of our beverage before our glasses were half empty. Then brought the check to get us out of the door and back to work. We did not have to ask him for anything, he anticipated and supplied our needs, ON POINT! We asked he was a manager and how long he had been at this location, he explained he started in Feb. this year and was training to be a bartender. So, if you are every in the Greenbelt, MD area and have a chance to stop by Friday's ask for Jameel W. at the bar! He is AMAZING! Outstanding Customer Service Professional!!!!

My husband and I stopped for an early dinner and the place was getting busy but we managed to get seated and served rather quickly. The drinks took about 5-7 minutes to get (just water), and about 7-10 minutes on our alcoholic beverages. The food came out pretty fast, ordered the Jack Daniel's chicken and it was excellent! The server was friendly but a little slow. Overall, good experience.

I've never dined-in at this location but I've ordered to-go a couple of times and after experiencing the same professional and efficient service I decided this location deserved at least one favorable review. Customer service is outstanding. From calling to order, entering the establishment, and picking up my food, I've never had any problems. Everyone is pleasant and concerned about whether or not I've been adequately served. My food was well-packed and yummy as well---almost better than it tastes when dining-in! Overall, I have no complaints and will continue to frequent this location on my lunch hour.

What a cluster of a mess. We have never had such terrible service! We spent three hours of our life waiting for horrible food and service. Tempted to call corporate to complain again since the manager obviously doesn't care...the lack of customer service was very disappointing, we had picked a chain thinking it would be reliable, we were wrong

We had our 2014 Lawson Family Reunion Meet and Greet here and they have a cozy corner that is a little secluded from everyone else, we had great service, they were not picky about separate bills, there was ample space and seating for the 50 of us at the meet and greet. The process to reserve the space was easy, i am a rewards member so we started with the chips and salsa and some waters, but everyone was so pleased with the location we stayed a few hours and had dinner and drinks all night. I would recommend this for large groups. It was in walking distance of our hotel (hilton garden inn) so everyone could drink all they wanted and stumble home with no issue. Plus we went on 3.00 thursday, 3.00 drinks and half priced apps- Gotta love the value!

I'm not too fond of the Fridays establishment, ESPECIALLY this particular location. Service is blah, managers are BOO, food is meh, and restrooms are HAZARDOUS!! Our party of 15 was seated after a party who came after us who had 30. Our 5-10 minute quoted wait time turned into 30+. The manager offered no consolation or explanation. We were seated in two booths separated from each other. Oh what fun it is to tell at our other table to converse. I spoke to the head manager and expressed my concern and he looked at me as if I weren't a customer on his establishment. Again, no consolation for our inconvenience. We sat down and asked for the other manager. He came over and we found out that he was in training. Since it didn't seem as if management was going to offer anything, we did. He agreed and said ok. Maybe it was because he was still in training, who knows or cares. This was the only way we got some resolve. Shameful!! And to top it off, the bathrooms were hideous!!! If any of you take the time to read my reviews, you know how I feel about public restrooms. This place is the pits, go elsewhere.

I came here for the first time, I was not that impressed. servers yelling across the hall to the customers , Too loud. i asked my server for both dressings and she only brought one i said can you give me blue cheese she said " another one?" Uhm what do you mean another one you never brought it in the first place. Then She brought us the entree, mashed potatoes didn't taste fresh , salmon wasn't cooked all the way had blood in the middle. She didnt even ask how do you like your salmon because if she didn't ask i would of just thought she knew i would want it well done. Then she just disappeared and I was waiting to order another drink. I said where is our waitress, Then even the people behind me said yes where is our waitress no tip for her" I said man I'm ready to order another drink . Then the manager was making sure we was ok . Slow service Pros- They make there drinks strong so that's a good thing Con- Food, service, they need to hire more employers

Just like Joe's Crab Shack down the street, I only visit this place because I live here while finishing school at UMD and there are so few options. The greeters are okay, the food is usually pretty bad, the service is almost always abominable. A few times I've gone and this place has been wonderful. Thursdays are always awful because they have some sort of auto group that comes in and they play really loud music. It's so loud you can't sit in the restaurant and hear the person across from you even though they stay confined to the bar area. My family and I came here after graduation this year. I recognize that they were really busy, but our experience was still lacking. Our food was room temperature when we got it. I prefer that to burned, but after waiting 40 minutes for food to receive it room temperature was very frustrating. I don't fault our server for that, who was very nice, but clearly in the weeds. I don't usually judge off one experience and I have been here and had a decent time, especially while sitting at the bar, but usually, the food is less than mediocre and the service is too.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. We stopped by this Fridays for a late night snack with my colleagues after long hours at the hospital. We requested a table for 5, the host said we had to wait 10 minutes. Little after a group of people walked in after us, they waited too. After we waited for 10 minutes another group of about 15-20 ppl walked in. I guess they had a reservation so they were seated immediately. Later, the group that arrived after myself, was seated. By then I was frustrated, I asked the host why we were still waiting.. she responded they came before you.. Later she asked my friends if we were even 21... IMMEDIATELY WE FELT INSULTED, AS IF WE WERE CHILDREN WALKING AROUND IN SCRUBS. This place is so disorganized, lacks service. We left to eat elsewhere. ....

I was shocked by the service in this restaurant. It started by just walking in the door. The girl up front opened the door which was nice and greeted me upon arrival. I was then pushed aside while she proceeded to seat two other parties that pulled into the parking lot and entered well after I did. I was dumbfounded and caught completely off guard. There was no wait and plenty of open tables so I knew it couldn't have been a call ahead or someone waiting. After my experience here I will go elsewhere.

Took the employees here for a quick discussion about some tips and ideas for the company and the food was great. We had a very entertaining waiter and the food was just right. It didn't take long to arrive neither, my only suggestion would be not keeping everything so clustered in certain areas. But overall we enjoyed and will return!

Poor customer service, slow service, staff is just rude. TGI Fridays has good food, I would just go to another one and this one, if you want your service to be given with a smile, and eat hot food, yeah this is not the Friday's for you. Zero stars!

I've had a love/hate relationship with this location of Friday's for years. My tolerance for mediocre food and inattentive service has decreased significantly and now I'm completely done. You should know from the outset that this location is not-so-affectionately known as "Club Friday's" because on any given night, that's how it operates. Instead of this being a casual eatery that you can bring your family to, it ends up being a club without a cover charge. That in itself limits when I'm willing to venture inside because I have no interest in hearing club music blasting (and I do mean BLASTING) while I'm trying to grab a meal with friends or with my family. The service has really decreased over time (I've patronized this location since 2003). I know that the service industry is frustrating, demanding and thankless, but I shouldn't see that dripping from the staff. More specifically, I don't want a waiter/waitress who cannot mask their 1) disdain for the job or 2) desire to be anywhere but at my table. A few years ago, this was a rare occurrence for me to experience while I was here, but now, it's pretty much the norm. The last time I went and actually was acknowledged, the waitress wouldn't look us in the eye and seemed completely distracted while taking our orders -- which resulted in her getting them wrong. I was so frustrated with her that I just kept the wrong food because I didn't want to extend the time we were there any longer than I had to. And when it came time for her to bring us the check, she was completely MIA. It turns out she was at another table flirting with a group of guys. We watched her for a solid 10 minutes before we made eye contact and she begrudgingly came over. I went again recently because it was my birthday. I was pleased to be seated immediately, but we were unacknowledged for 15 minutes. Not one person came to our table to see if we needed a drink, appetizer, napkin -- NOTHING. The manager glided through our section and gave a cursory glance at each table, but apparently missed our group of disgruntled faces. It took so long Went to the bathroom and came back -- NOTHING. We got up and left. I won't give my business to an establishment that doesn't want it. I've loved being a Give Me More Stripes member, but there are too many other Friday's locations that provide quality service for me to go through the hassle of coming here. It is the closest to my home, but I will GLADLY drive to the Laurel and Silver Spring locations to not deal with this mess anymore.

Always very busy and very loud in the evenings. The soft pretzels with beer cheese are the best I've tasted!!

This location should be primed and ready for crowds, it is in a busy location between hotels and close to UMD campus... But it was ridiculously slow. Took 15 min to get drinks, 20 more to get apps... And another 30 to get dinner. For real? The food was standard, but service is sub-par.

I agree with the others this place is ghetto. Don't expect to be greeted or seated in a reasonable time. Every table is non stop cursing. They have 2 off duty cops working here to try to keep people in line. It took 25 min to get a beer. Going on 40 minutes and no nachos. It's pretty simple to make nachos. When I came in hostess a young male was busy bs'ing with the the cop at the door and they talked a good 3 minutes before the cop finally said someone was behind the hostess. A parent is yelling at about a 6 year old kid to shut the F up, the table next to them is a male yelling at a female to go ahead and hit him etc. I cannot think of any reason to bring a family here. If I would have read the reviews I would not have come. I trusted the brand to provide a good experience and it fails. This is probably my worst dining experience this year and I eat out daily!! So after 60 minutes from getting here my nachos came out. I am posting a picture they are all burnt except 2. I've asked them to remake them but I am now worried about eating them no telling what the kitchen will do to them.

Ok. It's T.G.I. Friday's...what can you expect? I just happened to be on this "end" of the DMV when I fell victim to the woes of hunger so the rare opportunity to pop into this establishment Monday during happy hour. I enjoyed the inferno buffalo wings and a long island iced tea. My friend had the jack daniel wings and a blue moon. The bartender was pretty cool but didn't really engage much with the customers at the bar - most of the excitement came from the debate between the Steelers fan and Ravens fan. For what its worth, its TGIF and I would go back.

Ok food, slow service! Had 3 meals here and two and 1/2 were ok! The last one contained uncooked breaded shrimp. The shrimp was mushy and the batter was raw! I told the waitress her response was that's how they serve it! Hmmm!

I dined at Fridays Monday night. As usual the service was extremely poor. It took me 40 minutes to get a drink. And it wasnt busy! The manager Stafford Alexander was extremely rude. I have been dining at Fridays for 9 years. This will continue to be a last resort restaurant for me. The service has declined dramatically over the last 2 years.

Dined here with a friend today and the service was awful. When she messed up my drink, it took nearly 15mins to get it replaced. I ordered a turkey burger which came with no sauce or an offer to add sauce. Sweet Potato fries were served cold. Appetizer served on a filthy plate. Surely I hope this was an isolated incident but in case it wasn't, you've been warned.

I was there last week and witnessed a employee by the name of Ashleigh who is African American, tall and had braids at the time. Apparently she had an issue with a guest that looked like she was minding her business, but yet Ashleigh kept coming over VERY CLOSE by her table and was displaying very aggressive behavior. I saw Ashleigh exchanging words with her by the restroom and I believe the guest who was a young lady decided to take up for herself. That being said the young lady called Ashleigh out of her name and then Ashleigh stopped in her tracks and said "don't think cause I'm at work I won't fight!" "I get off work soon so you can meet me outside". The young lady just kept saying "thank you". Other guest were astonished by the behavior of the employee Ashleigh it was quite shocking. She threatened a guess and that should be a total violation!! Being that I was a witness I called the following day and spoke with a very nice manager Carol and she was extremely understating to the situation. I called back again for a follow up and spoke with a very non emotional, hyper, extremely aggressive and short in tone general manager Patricia. She was horrible ! While I was TRYING to explain what I witnessed she repeatedly kept interrupting me, and she even asked if we could me in person. Something is definitely wrong there. Now it make sense where some of Ashleigh aggressive and unprofessional behavior comes from. I will not be stepping foot back into a place that allows employees to threaten guest and get away with it. Clearly Patricia isn't going to do anything about Ashleigh creating a hostile environment.

This Fridays gave horrible service. We did not get to see a waiter until 10 minutes after sitting down. Then after giving our drink orders we waited 45 minutes (no exaggeration) to receive our drinks that we never received because we decided to just get up and leave. Mind you, it was not busy and there were plenty of waiters and waitress around. No one came! I definitely should have talked to management but I was too hungry to wait.

Arrived 11 am for an early lunch before a matinee. Host asked if I was with the party in the back- I wasn't. Asked if they were open and she said they opened at 11...uh...it's 11. Guess she thought it was too early for me to be there. I casually played with my Yelp App in plain view and was promptly shown to a table. Waitress was polite and came to take drink orders right away (Mimi I believe). Ordered coffee and was told I couldn't have any because that pesky party in the back had all of the mugs. Really? That was lazy/poor service. Saw a bus person taking many mugs back but our waitress never offered coffee. Our meals were hot and came out quickly. Restaurant and bathroom clean. Group of employees outside smoking before opening...90% sure they work there.could wrong but it appeared a meeting had gone on. That looks terrible!

Our beers were cold, and so was our food. We sent our Loaded Potato Skins back TWICE, and still they were too cold to eat. And then when the Parmesan Meatballs came out cold, too, that was it. We paid and left. First and only visit we'll ever make to the Greenbelt location. Oh, and I have to add that, upon arrival, I used the restroom. I was surprised when the hands-free paper towel dispenser dispensed about four inches worth of towel. Upon exit, I mentioned this to the hostess and she grimaced, "Ohh. Yeahh," like she knew but that's just the way the place is.

Preface: Worst hangover of my life...too hungover to eat before we left NJ, and dead until an hour in to the drive. It's now almost 4pm and I haven't eaten since 8 the night before. Nor has he. RAVENOUS WOLF STATUS. The service is so bad here....I really don't have words. The boy and I came for lunch before the Markus and Ferry concert because we wanted something quick, filling and delicious. I LOVE TGI Fridays....seriously. Their cobb salad is phenomenal. We entered...and there was no host. For a good five minutes. Now I'm getting annoyed...until the host appears. He sat the party before us...and finally came back to seat us (another five minutes later)....Okay, yes, I live in Texas and I understand life in the south can be slow BUT...the restaurant was E M P T Y. and this is just unreasonable. Finally, we were seated. Another 15 minutes....our waitress finally takes the drink order. At this point we knew our order (french onion soup and boneless buffalo wings for him, cobb salad for me.) His soup comes, no problem. Then the rest...my salad...no utensils. and his wings...with bones. Ugh.... It was a solid 20 minutes before the correct food came out and I recieved utensils. At this point, we could have eaten shoes and they would have tasted good. The food was good, but that's characteristic of a chain. I wouldn't return here if I was paid to. Upside is our tummies were fueled for a night of dancing and our waitress was really nice (even though she put the original order in wrong......)

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
