absolutely agree as far as chipotles go: this is, by far, the best location in the area!! i have never encountered rude staff and they smile at me when i comment on how awesome they are at their jobs. it must be a testament to the management!! no other chipotle can compare!

Best one in the DMV area! They're quicker than most, the food is seasoned a lot better than the other local chipotle's, as me and friends have noticed.

WAY OVER RATED, NOT 4 STARS AT ALL. Service line was long but moved at a good pace. I ordered a Barbacoa burrito which came ripped in the middle, you all know how annoying that is, the worse part was that a took a bite and the meat felt like rubber, was not chewable and I had to pull it out of my mouth (disgusting right? But I wasn't gonna swallow that blob of rubber). The atmosphere is ok but the food sucks, service (ripped burrito) was mediocre at best, sorry but on a food chain like Chipotle higher standards ARE EXPECTED. WARNING VIDEO IS VERY GRAFIC BUT I HAD TO SHOW THE RUBBER LIKE "BARBACOA".

I just went here for some lunch today. It was not my first time at all but this was the worst chipotle I been to or at least today. I saw all new faces then the last time I went there. The parking is obviously not much but if u love Chipotle you can deal. The lines are super long and that's why I decided to order online, but when I got there and came up to the front and waited several minutes before anyone came to my attention. I told the Cashier lady I had an online order, and told her what my name is. She said nope all I see is this. So I was upset that my order never got through and she never asked what she could do to help. Just kept on rolling to Wherever she went. So I had to get in the long line and wait since I was already there. Once I got to the sour cream side. The lady there was extremely rude. She said "sour cream" , and before I could say I want it on the side. She slapped some on there. Then I said "no on the side" she said "you need to speak louder" with a major attitude. I rolled my eyes as a way to fire back and really tried not play her own game. I honestly wanted to say I don't need to do anything, what you need to do is go fix that ugly attitude of yours. But, that was the calm before the storm honey. The matter of the fact is that some of the employees at this place are rude and have a don't care attitude which makes the place stink! Sticking to the nearest Chipotle by me!!

Chipotle is amazing everywhere you go, but this place knows how to make a burrito fast! Their service is incredible, considering they often deal with a line that goes out the door at dinner time. I also find that they are very generous with their spoonfuls of everything-- their burritos get STUFFED. You always know what to expect, and what you get is mouth-watering and delicious every time.

I feel like every person in the Greenbelt area comes to this Chipotle because it is always packed. But hey I don't mind, the workers here are like newspaper printing presses, they just keep stuffing and folding those burritos like they could do it in their sleep. I usually don't review places like this because one Chipotle isn't gonna be much different than another, BUT I make an exception for this Chipotle because they really stuffed my burrito. I mean this was massive, bigger than usual. Who knows, maybe it's just been so long but it definitely seemed like they wanted me to be full for hours. Thanks, Chipotle Greenbelt!

I like this chipotle even though they are always busy. They cater to the starving college student and are pretty heavy handed when it comes to "scoops". They always wipe down the counters whenever anything is dropped or spilled in the assembly line. I always see them washing their hands and changing new gloves which give me peace when it comes to my food. They are quick and fast and always seem to pay attention, unlike other chipotle's I've gone to.

Chipotle's is a great fast food Mexican option. Wish they'd do something about the noise levels as can get quite loud when the restaurant is crowded. But that criticism is true for the whole chain, not just this location.

Worst chipotle I been too the staff always has an attitude, they give you little amounts of everything expect rice!. They rush you down the line even if your the only person in line. Yesterday at work our manger decided to buy everyone lunch and before really thinking about it we chose chipotle forgetting that the closest one to us sucks! Now it wasn't a large group of us ordering just 4 bowls. We placed our order online. When our food was finish my coworker immediately started to apologize, because my bowl was at the bottom and instead of just giving us 2 bags or packing the bag better they decided to throwing everything in there. So aside from the mashed bowl I open the bowl an was immediately in shock. Greenbelt chipotle really out did their selfs. Let me tell you now my bowl was very simple lettuce chicken light rice cheese and sour cream. When I tell you they added the bare minimum of each item except rice I mean it . The crazy part is I wrote in the details light rice. But they do the complete opposite and give me light everything else and heavy rice. My coworkers food was even worst. We work at a hotel and people ask us about good food places and we never recommend that chipotle we tell them about the bad service and poor Quality food. The workers can care less and it shows. It should have been a manger there to check the online orders to make sure stuff like this doesn't happen. But his or her staff probably gets the bad attitude from the manger.

This is usually my preferred Chipotle location. It's located conveniently and doesn't get nearly as much traffic as others. The lunchtime rush still happens, so if I need food between 11-1, I order online. Service is good. You generally get the same level at chains, but I feel like the food tends to be put together better here - maybe it's because they're not as rushed as others. As a bonus, there's free parking here.

Apparently I'm the only one who reviews Chipotle's around here... This is the BEST Chipotle location I have ever been to anywhere. My boyfriend told me it was better than the one in College Park, but I didn't realize just how much better until I experienced it tonight for myself. My burrito was PACKED with everything, unlike other locations that just shovel in half a spoonful and keep moving. I think there was about 4 cups of guacamole, tons of peppers and onions, and probably an entire head of lettuce. It was awesome. Also, the people who work there move you through the line at just the right pace: quickly, but not so quickly that I feel like I'm under intense pressure (see my review of the College Park location). The limes were also MUCH fresher and riper and were filled to the top of the container. This location is twice as far from my house as the one I normally go to, but after my experience tonight I don't think I will mind the extra miles.

This is one of the better Chipotles that I've been to. Generous portions and they get the Internet orders correct.

  • Melissa G.

Chioipotle- how can you go wrong? Giant, fresh burritos. Only downside of this location is a tendancy to long lines. But they move fast. Park on the left side of the building by the sandwich shop.

The food is always good and they run through the line very quickly, however, they seem to have a problem with cleanliness. I've been here on multiple occasions and the tables and floor are always messy. I work in a very high traffic bar so I understand that this happens from time to time and only when things are very busy. What I don't understand is why when this store is dirty and seemingly busy, there are three-four employees taking a break and eating. Everyone deserves a break, but if a protocol was in place that made employees buss and sweep the dining area before breaks, this unsightly and inconsiderate issue may be corrected. It would literally take no more than 5min. Easy fix.

  • Jae R.

Used to pretty good service at the local Chipotle's. It's super busy so I'm even usually understanding of minor mess ups. I don't understand a bad attitude by management or the attitude like I'm inconveniencing when I'm returning here because your team messed up my order. Subpar service...I'll drive the additional minutes outside my route for better service.

Chipotle is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I have the time, and this satellite to the whole lives up to my every wish. The food is perfectly cooked (I happened to be eating 3 soft-shelled tacos with chicken, salsa, and cheese). The minimal complaints I have is the line is to the door, most likely due to the influx of students from Maryland. The line does go much quicker than you might expect however. The noise can be quite loud. But what can you expect from a Chipotle. Overall I really enjoyed my food and the service was excellent.

Tasty, nutritious, and gluten-free options abound! Yes, those of us with celiac disease can have a great meal here at Chipotle, just avoid flour tortillas. And a big thumbs-up for the bbq meat and the black beans, both are so delicious! Will be a regular customer henceforth, not just on Cinco de Mayo...Viva Chipotle!

I ordered 2 chicken tacos and a combo burrito bowl. While along the 2nd taco she ran out of chicken. She put a little on there, replaced the chicken supply and forgot about my taco. I asked if I can have more chicken and she rolled her eyes and added ONE CUBE of chicken! The cashier Caitlin rang up my food I asked her if there's steak in my bowl cuz I didn't see it, she said yes. I pay and take my food only to be told that she didn't ring my tacos up. I pay again then sit down and dive into my burrito bowl only to realize there's no steak on it!!! I told her and she doesn't apologize just gets a small container or steak and hands it to me. I mean there was such a tiny bit of steak in there it was ridiculous. Why do these ppl act as if the meat is coming out of their paycheck?? 1st time here and will definitely never go back.

This location is typically slow in serving customers so I place my orders online in advance and give them a few extra minutes after my scheduled pick up time. The last time I was here, I didn't place an order and waited in an extremely long line. When I got to the front, they were out of steak and it took foreverrrrrrrrrrr to cook new steak. I actually spent about 35 minutes or so inside this Chipotle. What I liked, however, was that manager came to me and a few other people who were waiting on steak and personally took our orders. He then made sure our orders were freshly made and gave us a large cup for drinks and told us everything was free. Now THAT is excellent customer service!

In general I love Chipotle. This one has been fine most of the time ( though my husband has come home a number of times having told them he wanted cheese and sour cream and they missed putting one on....though my husband was standing there and missed that they missed it, so not sure it's all on them.) Though tonight our food was blah, and I finally realized the steak AND the rice had no salt, perhaps the salsa too! Was it so late no one felt like refilling the salt shaker? There is a giant across the parking lot, so running out isn't an excuse. That is just pure laziness in my book. Who thinks they can make food without salt?

  • Sarah M.

I love Chipotle, but after seeing what a staff did at this Greenbelt location, this makes me question the entire establishment. This staff was highly unhygienic; continuously wiping the dirty counter with her gloved hands, then without changing the gloves picks up lettuce and cheese to place on customers' bowls. The manager was there, and to all of them it was normal. If anyone ever gets food poisoning or a case of diarrhea after eating from this Chipotle, well now you know why. Sometimes people are too busy chatting it up with friends on Chipotles' long lines, that we do not catch these types of disgusting staff habits. The sanitary thing to do is either have paper towel handing for the staff that they can use to wipe the counters; wiping counters with your hands, then touching food that people are about to eat is not sanitary. Or have utensils to serve all food items.

It is a pain getting in and out of this location. The traffic is a hassle, the lot is a logistical mess, and it is a busy shop. You can expect to wait for your food. The good news is that the people here are very friendly, and you will not go hungry. My sofrito bowl was packed solid with toppings.

I love chipotle. This place serves very low quantity when compared to other locations. They have to fix this soon or else people wont be back to this location

I love Chipotle. LOVE IT. I've been coming to the Greenbelt location about once a week for a long time. I'm noticing the portions (meat, sour cream, guac.) getting smaller. If I'm paying an extra $2.15, I want a healthy scoop of guacamole. I noticed that someone was refilling the containers. Sour cream, salsa, and meat was poured on top of what was there. What happened to first in, first out? Usually they replace the near empty container with a full one, and then put the portion from container A on top. You never get old ingredients this way. Now to the drink station. No ice. And they had about 50 knives, but only 7 forks. This was 1:12 pm on 8/26/14. I'll try again but won't keep coming if it stays like this. :(

No complaints. Like every Chipotle I've ever been to...long lines but not a long wait.

Pretty ghetto for a chipotle. Rice is usually soggy and the employees fail at burrito wraps. Unfortunately it's the only chipotle in greenbelt so no alternatives. I've eaten at at least 30 chipotle's across the nation, these reviewers below me need to get out of greenbelt and see what they are missing.

I agree with most of the other reviews...this Chipotle does not skimp on their food and the staff is efficient and super fast. I had to wait for an online order one time and the cashier gave me a free soda. Hence I am a regular!

This is a Chipotle. It is more or less the same as every other Chipotle, and that is a good thing because the chain as a whole is one of the best ones out there, both in terms of store quality and upkeep, and their emphasis on non-GMO sustainable practices. The staff at this location in Greenbelt is excellent, friendly and inviting. I beg you all, if you are in the area or live around here, please avoid the KFC's and Popeye's of the world and instead come here for a high quality filling balanced meal. Heck, I ask them to hold the cheese and sour cream, more often than not going vegetarian, and make my meals here even healthy, dare I say.

Chipotle is sacred. Anything less than 5 stars is blasphemy. I worship this location every week. The foods is straight up Holy.

Where to start I've been coming here for a very long time, I've eaten here a thousand times so here are my thoughts! It all depends on the day and whose working there at the time of placing your order(s). You may get a cheerful person or a miserable person with a gas face on the entire time. Some of them act as if there hands can only extend but soo far when pouring rice and chicken. On more than one occasion I would ask for more rice and get a baby teaspoon amount. They can't take left over food home...so I don't understand what the stinginess is all about. I literally have to stand there and say five times "can you add some more" "add more" "A Little more" "More please" "ADD MORE AGAIN Dayum!" It's so frustrating I know there's a standard amount they like to dish out however when I'm paying and I'm requesting for more that's what I expect! It's so annoying dealing with chipotle employees I pity them sometimes but you have to do what the customer wants because there paying for it, and another thing don't rush me out of my request. Handle one customer before you move on to the next. It's that simple.

This is the best Chipotle in the area. They are fast. Not packed with kids. And are not stingy with the portions. Not bad at all.

Sooo I've never been a huge fan of chipotle, because I wasn't impressed by any of the ones I went to (and I've been to several) so I really didn't understand peoples obsession with it. One day after my class, I just wanted to try something different, because I was tired of the restaurants in the surrounding area. So after about a year, I had a random craving for chipotle and I ended up here and let me tell you, its the best damn chipotle I've ever had! In fact, it is the only one I will eat at. Idk if its the way they season their food or what, but I'm def hooked and they have a loyal customer right here now! Staff is also friendly and very very expeditous!

    (5)
  • Becca B.

This chipotle is awesome. Usually I order online and pick it up so I don't have to wait in line but even if im in line its very quick and they don't skim you on the food.

God this place makes me hate myself. Before you even enter Chipotle come to terms with the fact that you are a fat ass. If you've been wondering what's caused you to pack on the pounds over the last couple of years the answer may be lunch at Chipotle. I went here today for lunch and realized they have now put the calorie count on the menu. Someone here is the opposite of a genius. Lucky for me Chipotle always has a long line, which gave me enough time to calculate that my meal (no drink) was going to be close to 1,000 calories. The government's recommended daily intake for someone my height who doesn't do much physical activity is between 1,300 and 1,600 calories a day. The good news is I've now realized that in reality Chipotle's is not really expensive when you realize your actually paying for 3 meals. The bad news is I had breakfast today and already have dinner plans. I will not be coming back to Chipotle.

Fear not Molly R.You'll not be the only Chipotle reviewer around here. I agree with Molly that this is the BEST Chipotle location in this area. I'm surprised the one in College Park, which to my knowledge was the first one in the area, is still open as I thought they would certainly go under after giving out coupons for free burritos when they opened. Seriously, giving out free food to college kids isn't marketing, it's balance sheet suicide (See Chop It, RIP). They are stingy with their meat! One time, I asked the designated meat lady for a little more meat and she gave me a couple more pieces and muttered something in Spanish to the designated salsa/cheese/sour cream lady, who in turn muttered something in Spanish to the lettuce/wrap your burrito lady, who in turn muttered something to the cashier who promptly charged me an extra $1.25 for extra meat! The one in the Target shopping center off of Cherry Hill Rd is worse. They are stingy with their salsa. I always order my burrito with tomato + corn salsa, and to my surprise, this place charged me for extra salsa. Greenbelt is a totally different experience. Yes, the stinginess on meat can exist but most everything else, they are generous with. Food - Where else can you get a burrito that could double as a mid-sized stone? For those that are unfamiliar with Chipotle, you can order a burrito (tortilla) or a bol (no tortilla, food stuffed into a cardboard bowl). You can have cilantro-lime rice and fajita veggies and/or black/pinto beans. You then choose your meat - steak, chicken, carnita (looks like pulled pork), or barbacoa (shredded beef). Keep in mind that you can do half-something and half-something, e.g., half chicken/half steak. Then you can top it with salsa--I recommend two scoops of tomato and two scoops of corn, cheese (not recommended because it won't melt), guacamole (extra $), sour cream (strange and watery), and romaine lettuce. All of this for about $6. I really dislike Chipotle chips. They are rather stale and HEAVILY salted. Service - There's a lady--not sure why, but all the font-line staff are females and all the cooks are males--who mans (no pun intended) a certain portion of the assembly line. Depending on your lady, you'll get a lot of meat. Service is quick, which is great since the line often extends out the door at peak hours. Btw, Chipotle touts how fresh they are. For some odd reason, people seem to equate fresh with healthy. Not the case at all. The Diamondback, UMCP's student paper, once ran an article that noted that an average burrito has 1200 calories. Makes me think of how people at Subway get their "healthy" subs with extra mayo and vinegar and oil. If you need a Chipotle fix, I recommend this location or the Laurel (in front of Best Buy).

Meh. I've experienced better. They gave a teeny tiny little amount of meat in my burrito bowl. whereas other places would usually spoil you with a good amount of meat. I was veryyyy disappointed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
