Based off of prior reviews, we looked for a groupon prior to visiting. Found the groupon, but the one valid for Saturday usage was sold out. No worries, we went to lunch anyhow! We tried a mix of their brunch, lunch, and restaurant week menus. The place was nicely decorated with pictures of historic Glyndon, made for really interesting decor. They have pictures of the old fire house and post office - really neat pics! Our drink orders were taken and delivered promptly. We ordered our food and the soups/apps came out quickly. The crab soup could've had a bit more old bay, but still tasty. And the tomato basil was delicious. The main course was just so-so. I had a fish sandwich. The fish itself was bland, but once put together with the entire sandwich (which had aioli sauce on it) it tasted pretty good. Two of the people at the table ordered the Glyndon Benedict which is supposed to be poached eggs on top of mini crab cakes covered with Hollandaise sauce served with potato hash. What they actually received looked like straight up Eggs Benedict, with the english muffin, Canadian bacon, poached eggs, and no crab. So we sent the dishes back.. as they both wanted the crab. The dishes quickly returned, poached eggs on an english muffin with sprinkled crab meat on top. Not terribly impressed. We were looking for mini crab cakes. The wait staff was really nice. One of the members in our party didn't care for the Glyndon Benedict and without pressing the issue, the waitress took the item off the bill. Ribs were ok. Great customer service table side.. Might give them a second try.. not sure.

Wow! What a wonderful experience my wife and I had at the Glyndon Grill! We lucked in to it by accident, as we were in the area. We were properly and pleasantly greeted, and were sitted quickly. We thought the place was clean and quaint. Loved all of the black and white photos on the wall! As we glanced over the menu, we were delighted at how eclectic it was! Our waitress Jamie was nothing short of phenomenal! She was smart, warm and personable! She told us all about the restaurant, how all of the ingredients were fresh, etc. She even gave us the business cards of the owners! We ordered the Day Starter Benedict, the roasted Corn & Crab soup, the Chicken Pot Pie, and the French Toast (for dessert:). The food was outstanding! Halfway through we ordered the All American burger to go, for our son to eat when we got home (he's a pretty picky eater but absolutely raved about the burger and fries!). We also spotted the Espresso Creme Brulee on the dessert menu, and got that too! It was really great! Jamie also packed up what we couldn't eat, and once we paid, she even walked us to the door, and held it open for us! I've been in retail for 28 years, and I've never had such a first time wonderful dining experience as this one! I will be sure to tell all of my family, relatives, friends and acquaintances about this restaurant, for its food, and for its service! We can't wait to go back!!!

This was my first time eating here. I went for lunch on Sunday with a group of fellow Army Officers, two of which have eaten here several times already. On arrival we were seated promptly and our waitress came over within 2 minutes to take drink orders. I was very disappointed that they offer Pepsi products instead of Coke, so instead I had unsweetened iced tea. I didn't penalize them for this tragic error... Lol!!! After listening to our waitress rattle off all the daily chef choice dishes I decided on the soup and salad combo. Apparently from the older reviews, they frequently offer tomato basil as the soup of the day, which is what I selected. I ordered the Glyndon salad with dressing on the side paired with the Tamato Basil soup. The soup was actually very very good... My only wish is that they offer a grilled cheese sandwich to go with this soup. I could eat the Tomato basil soup everyday, it's that darn good!!! While my salad was good, I was greatly disappointed with how small the serving size was, especially considering the combo cost $12. The salad was very small (see picture)!!! My friend has the crispy chicken sandwich served with fresh cut shoestring French fries, which while taste were definitely soggy and not crispy at all. The experience was overall a good one, the service excellent even though their prices are a little steep. I plan on returning to sample more variety's.

Best pot pie I've ever had! Also, I highly recommend the crab and artichoke fondu. My girlfriend had the ribs and they had great seasoning and sauce, but came out a little warm instead of hot like my pot pie. Overall great service, great food, great atmosphere.

My husband and I have frequented Glyndon Grill many times. Good standard American fair with a few standouts. They disappointed me tonight though. I went online to check the menu to place a carry out order. The salmon was listed at $16, good deal. When I picked it up I saw i was charged $19. When I pointed it out to the bar tender she showed the manager whose response was" there's a disclaimer that the price could change". I went back online and saw no disclaimer. DISAPPOINTING that this is how they did business

If you love a lot of noise, uncomfortable chairs and most of all, VERY over salted food, this is the place for you.

I met some friends here for a couple of drinks and those two drinks will be my last. This place is stuffy and not exciting to come into the bar and be yourself. Very boring here. Go to The Grille @HarrimanHouse if you are in this area. The lounge is great and the food is fantastic.

My wife and I have been here several times for dinner and brunch since it opened, as it's probably the best place for a sit down meal in Reisterstown/Glyndon. But in my opinion, that's really not saying much. Glyndon is a great little community that has a lot of potential for a neighborhood spot like Glyndon Grill, but some things need to be changed. The atmosphere and decor is great, whether you're sitting in the bar area or the actual dining room. It can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but that's to be expected in most places. My best suggestion to potential patrons is to arrive early so you don't have to wait if you haven't made a reservation, typically things pick up around 6:30-7pm. As far as food and service go, this is where it starts to go downhill and get inconsistent. I've probably tried at least 10 different dishes on their dinner/lunch menu, from chicken pot pie, to steak, to salads. Some of these dishes are prepared wonderfully one day, and the next they're cold and greasy. I'm not entirely sure where the inconsistencies are coming from, but it is disappointing to say the least. The service is in the same boat. We've had incredibly attentive wait staff, and the absolute opposite; it's this way no matter how busy the restaurant is. I'm not sure if this is a lack of proper training, or staff that are not held accountable by management. So basically, I would say that Glyndon Grill is pretty great when it is on. However, it is still mediocre food at it's best. There's not too much imagination with the menu, so I haven't really been terribly impressed with their offering. There is one caveat though... BRUNCH. Brunch is absolutely spot on (how can it not be, right?). To be honest, up until this point in my review, I had the rating at 2 star.. but then I remembered our brunch experience, and had to give them at least one more. bottomless mimosas and/or bloody marys, biscuits n' gravy, pancakes, french toast, etc. They definitely do this meal properly, and if you get there right when it opens, you will no doubt have a great experience. If you're debating on trying Glyndon Grill, go there for brunch before you go for dinner. It'll make you want to try dinner, even if the dinner leaves you wanting more.

Have been several times and have tried a variety of menu items. All have been good but portion sizes seem to be small compared to the prices paid. Dessert menu is a bit scant. The cream of crab soup is not to be missed. Service has never been great. We've waited excessively long periods between courses and for a dessert menu and/or check. I'd score it higher if not for that.

Went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Surprisingly, the dining room was nearly empty. I enjoyed the food and the server was pleasant. Only downside was there was bacon in the potatoes and it was not indicated on the menu Gave them to BF and enjoyed a lovely eggs Benedict. I believe I overheard another waiter mention bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's but our server never mention to us

My family and I decided to eat here for dinner because there's really isn't any other "fine" dining in the vicinity besides Harryman House. It was our last time here. The service was horrendous and the food was subpar. They had over-salted our fries and we requested a new batch of fries, and they took back the original fries. They were more than happy to make us a new batch, only later to find out they charged us for the remake of the fries! It was an ordeal to get them to remove the charge of the fries (which wasn't even that expensive in the first place!), but the idea that a customer should pay for their mistake is simply wrong. This is the type of service they offer.

The only thing worse than the food was the attitude of the wait staff and the supposed manager. I tried their chicken pot pie and found it to be as dry as stale bread. When I asked for some gravy, all they had was a very salty beef gravy. Yuck! I tried to have a discussion with the wait staff and manager and left with the impression that they could care less.

My wife and I had a reservation for 6:45 PM on Friday night, and when we got there we were told the wait was about 25 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I checked with the host to see what time we were going to be seated and he told me that but it would be another 15 minutes. We told the host we were not waiting any longer, and to cancel our reservation. No apologies, no concern shown. What exactly is the purpose of a reservation, if, after arriving on time, you have to wait 45 minutes? Diner beware!

  • Neuthan R.

Food was good. The hostess was inviting! The waitress was unattentive. She never checked on us, even after the food was delivered and didn't offer to refill drinks until before she returned with the bill. How does she expect good tips..she needs better training!

Got a great deal on groupon and used it for a lunch date. Both food and service were very good. The ahi tuna poke is amazing! My husbands burger was too rare so they made him a whole new one, rather than refire it- very nice touch. Will return for sure.

Honestly, a great experience. The crab and corn chowder is excellent. We almost asked for more. The salads were delicious. I had the starter eggs Benedict (made with tenderloin) ...it was divine. My Bloody Mary/ mimosa was great. The chefs sandwich of the day was a quesadilla ..reported as excellent. The pineapple upsides down cake was super yummy. We will be frequenting this place. Only complaint is that the seating is so close. It might not be pleasant if you happen to pick a busy time.

We were here last week and had such a great experience. We were SO excited that we found a new go-to place nearby that we made reservations to return in a week. Well, we made our return visit last night, and brought a friend along. Different cook, different server, MUCH different experience. (1) reservations at 7, seated around 7:30. (2) Server inattentive. Had to be flagged down for drink refills. (2) Filet ordered to be cooked medium showed up looking like a sirloin, and was grey throughout. Was overcooked, beyond well done. On a positive note, our server from last week (John) came over to see how we were doing and welcome us back. I would have been willing to give them another chance in the future, even with poor service and very overcooked meat. However-- the host (or floor manager, or whatever he was) was so amazingly rude and inappropriate that there is no chance that I (or anyone in our party) will return, What a shame for a place that showed so much promise. From 5 stars to 1. The host needs to learn how to treat guests properly.

I was excited that we would have a mini "Barrett's Grill" in our neighborhood. We made reservations during Restaurant week -- good thing we made reservations for a Friday night -- it was packed. Service was super fast, clearly they want to turn tables in 40 minutes or less. (We were 100% served in under 25 minutes...3 courses.) The food was marginal -- crab cakes would be excellent if the chef used some salt and pepper. Good amount of crab. Mongolian BBQ short ribs were good, but just a little sweet to my taste. Dessert, so/so, didn't rock my world. We probably would only go back for sandwiches and not entrees. Overall, we were sad.

Just had dinner at this new venue in Glyndon. The good was not great and it's nice to have a neighborhood restaurant again. However the service is fair at best and the host needs to learn to drop screaming guests Ames to be seated on his customers ears it's very rude and distasteful. If the correct the service issues it may last but id think in 3 months the crowds will have moved on.

DISAPPOINTING! Wow, nothing good to say. The service was very slow, even to get water. Our waitress Sharon was training someone (we think). Just to get water and then a refill took forever. Other tables were experiencing the same problems. Rolls with butter came rather promptly. My husband got the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which were ok, nothing special. I ordered the scallops with risotto-BIG MISTAKE. They were salty and rubbery. I sent it back, which is very unusual for me. I got a chicken sandwich which was ok. Don't know what's going on in there.. many tables took forever just to get water. I am so totally under impressed, too bad because we live so close and it would have been a nice place to hang out. The bill got messed up twice and I finally had to start walking out the door to get their attention. I don't get it.

So I have been here once and it certainly was a mixed bag. I had the grilled lamb pops as starter and it was great. I love lamb and when I saw this as a special I just had to go for it and I was not disappointed. The salads were we got good were but as is the style these days they were overly sweet. I don't know why everyone thinks they need to make a desert out of a salad. My son had mac and cheese and it looked a little goopy to me but he readily wolfed it down. He is a very picky eater so I can't argue with that. Now here it gets a little inconsistent. Both my wife and I got charbroiled steaks. I got medium rare, my wife got medium well. When we were served our plates got switched. I took a bit out of her stake and it absolutely bitter with char. When my wife noted hers was too red we switched and my medium rare steak had a tasty char and was just great. As for my wife's steak it is as if they keep going through the char process the entire cook time which was a great detriment to the steak. She never said anything as to not embarrass our guests, we were invited, but had we been on our own we would have returned the steak. My mother-in-law had grilled salmon and she just raved about it. Her hubby had the grilled ribs and they were tough, as if they fast cooked the ribs. I've always known ribs to need some slow cooking to soften up. Overall I would go there again, certainly for a medium rare steak. The service was very good and the food seemed to be very good if you ordered the right thing.

I visited Glyndon Grill for the first time on 03/30/2014 and I was very disappointed. While the service was ok, the food was not. I found the menu pricey for the fare being offered. The portion sizes were very skimpy. I ordered the crabcake sandwich which was $15. While the meat was jumbo lump, the size was extremely small, a little smaller than the size of a golf ball. The taste was very bland. I expect great flavor when I order crabcakes from a Maryland restaurant! Additionally, I was part of a large group and no one was satisfied with the meal. Most everyone had the same complaints: pricey, small portions and lack of flavor. Lastly, since we were a part of a large group, with several separate checks, the restaurant charged each one paying an exorbitant amount of gratuity instead of charging accordingly for each bill. I paid more than $10 in gratuity on my singular $15 bill. The management was not very pleasant or accommodating when several members of the party complained about the gratuity. I will definitely never visit this establishment again in the future.

Poor restaurant with terrible service. Food was sub-average and when my girlfriend complained about the obviously rancid cheese they treated her like she had 2 heads. They try and rush you out after only a few minutes of sitting down. Avoid this restaurant at all cost and go down the road to a better restaurant...

I've been to the GG for dinner and drinks before, but had to write a review on their new Brunch menu. Finally a great place for brunch in the area that doesn't start serving at 11:30am (harryman house) and won't break the bank. The classic Eggs Bennedict was cooked perfectly and the potato hash was simply amazing. Diced very finely the potatoes were crisp and mixed with chopped bacon and were the best "home fries" I've had in years. Waffles with fruit was a hit with the kids, and the wife loved the spinach mushroom omelet with Swiss cheese. And the coffee was even good!!

Extremely attentive wait staff. Manager was overly accommodating for a small issue we had. Entire family liked what they ordered. I had french dip which I'm typically gun shy to order because I'm almost always disappointed. The last decent french dip I had was from Quiznos before they moved out of my area. lol I was disappointed at the GG. I did have one rather small reservation ... I ordered the potatoes au gratin, and it was small on taste and big on presentation. Served as a cake-line square stack with overly firm potato and light on cheese. I'd lose that in favor of a more palatable option.

Been there twice. Each time - the food was just meh. I want to really love this place, but it just didn't blow us away. My husband had the Baltimore County Restaurant Week deal. This was pretty good, he had the fish sandwich. I had the Caesar Salad, which seems to be missing something.....the bartender was kinda complaining to the waitress about other wait staff that wasn't there, and you could hear each word. Not the kinda thing you want while you are trying to enjoy your food. Will check back again in a few months.

We have been here for many meals and are always pleased. The staff is great and very attentive, all the way down from the host to the servers. The food is good and the menu has been expanding and changing with the seasons. The shrimp Cargo is to die for!! The Sunday brunch is also very good and the prices are reasonable,, I am so glad to have a new place to dine in the area. How much pizza can one take and the Harryman House is getting a little dated for me,

Live in the neighborhood and was excited to try. I had the chopped salad and my wife had the beet salad topped with salmon. First the chopped salad. The lettuce tasted as If it were right from the bag and the presentation was terrible. Now on to the other salad. The beets were pickled not roasted and the salmon looked as if it were previously prepared and then stuck in the microwave. The only good things were the hummus appetizer and the service. I didn't have the heart to tell my server how disappointed I was. My suggestion would be drive the extra 1/2 mile and go to the Harryman House. Good luck - signed $60 lighter.

First time there. Enjoyed the house salad. home made soup, ribs and a sandwich special. Was disappointed and a bit surprised when bread pudding was served cold. Had to ask for it to be warmed. Also surprised that a warm up or refill on coffee is not offered and should you request it, you will be charged. Have not come across that in recent memory. The staff are all quite pleasant and professional.

Everything was very good!! Had the smoked lox n bagel, waffles with chicken pieces on the side, the hash browns were very crispy n flavorful, the bagel was very fluffy n came out warm. Friends had custom omlettes that came out picture perfect (although we ate it up fast, I have no picture to show) Our server Vlad G was very accommodating, nice n attentive to our group. Definitely would come back here for brunch!! They also serve alcohol, plenty of parking, has a bar area as well.

DON"T believe the hype! NEVER again will we eat here. Two couples in our party on Saturday. 1. At 730 pm, waiter took our order. Two of us ordered chicken pot pie. So the waiter says excellent choice, walked away, came back with appetizer, and 20 minutes later told us they were out of chicken pot pies. Place wasn't even that crowded. Why wait that long to tell us? So we had to scramble to order something else, AND, we had to re-ask for menu! Idiot not only told us WAY after we ordered, but didn't even bring a menu! How can a restaurant that is kinda known for pot pie RUN OUT EARLY AT 7:30 on a Saturday! 2. Ordered a bottled beer. Ah, a good cold beer on a Sat night. WRONG! Beer was warm. Ordered a second bottle: WARM AGAIN! 3. Three servers brought our food out at the same time, did a three stooges act bumping into each other at the table and knocked a ketchup cup into my wife's hair. No apology from our waiter, no apology from the manager, no comp on meal or dessert. 4. The burger I ordered, at $13, was the size of a SLIDER! I have never seen a burger that small in ANY restaurant I have ever been to! Especially for THAT price. 5. I know that this place has received some good reviews, but TRUST me, there is a brainwash mentality over this dump and I have no idea why. Crowd was mostly mid 60's-mid 70's. Very loud in back room (this is where they stick the oldies). All in all, a very bad experience all around. We will never go here again. There's no need to. Could go to half a dozen places better than this all within 5 miles. My guess? It will be gone within a few years once the regular blue hair crowd finds the next flavor of the day restaurant and gets tired of this one.

Burger night is the best. 8 dollar burgers with fries on Thursday's. It is a great deal and the burgers are fantastic. The service is also great. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive did not make any mistakes. Always coming by asking us how we are doing. The owner is also usually there who makes his best effort to see everyone at the restaurant. He is very friendly and always takes care of any mistakes. It is very busy so you probably should get their fairly early to get a seat for dinner. Especially on Thursday's. I would for sure recommend this place to anyone looking for a bite to eat.
