I used to love subway and Quiznos, but when I found the way Firehouse steam the meats and make the sandwiches, I have sandwich epifany, meat tender juicy and fresh, bread toasty, a great variety of hot sauces and drinks. And a very good costumer service.

I love the big painting of the fire department putting out a fire on the wall. Plus the decor around the restaurant is very cool! As for the subs - they are amazing! Haven't been disappointed yet. Go for the Sweet & Spicy Meatball Sub. It's my favorite!!

I mostly order delivery, and I went to the store in person once. Every time I've ordered from this location they have always taken good care of me. The first time I ordered delivery my meal was slightly messed up, but they fixed it immediately and came right back out. Food has been good every time. Every employee that's helped me has been very friendly.

I love their pastrami sub! I probably get it way too often at this point, but it's delicious and hard to resist. I think next time I go I'll branch out and try their grilled chicken sub to explore their menu a little.

I stay at pinnacle town center and this place is few steps away. I eat here quiet often whenever we don't cook at home & have been eating here since the day it was opened. The Service here is amazing and they literally bring the food to your table which no other sub place does. They have variety of hot sauces ranging from 2-10. There Sliced chicken breast is awesome.....With Captain Sorensens pepper sauce......;-)

The food was average and certainly nothing to write home about. I had the beef and cheddar and now I know why they have lots of hot sauce. The food is bland. Although the restaurant was clean, the servers looked deshelveled. I felt I was risking getting an illness by eating the food they made. I will not be back.

Great Subs .... Awesome Service . Restaurant is always clean. My favorite is Turkey Bacon Ranch. Their free style machine is pretty cool. Also the fresh pickle makes it perfect.

Meh...nothing special. Tiny serving compared to jersey mikes...I would rather go to any of the other restaurants on the same strip. It isn't bad, but for the money it isn't special.

I came here for the first time the other day and I absolutely loved it! I got the limited offer King's Hawaiian Pork and Slaw sandwich. It took a while for the sandwiches to come out, but the taste was definitely worth it and the staff was friendly. I tried a bite of the hoagie/sub that my boyfriend got, but it didn't taste as flavorful as the Pork and Slaw sandwich though. We came around 5pm and was mostly empty, maybe 2 or 3 other people sitting down to eat. The decor was pretty interesting as well as the hot sauce ratings that they had. I would definitely recommend getting the King's Hawaiian Pork and Slaw while it's still there since it's only there for a certain amount of time though.

I like Firehouse Subs and it's been awhile since I've been to one. I ordered the Italian sub fully involved, cheddar and sour cream Ruffles and a root beer. The sandwich is just as I remember it so I appreciate the consistency. I wish I had ordered the large instead of the medium sub since I was sharing with my wife. The steamed sandwiches are interesting because it's a warm sandwich but isn't toasted. I don't know if it's their process but their sandwiches take more time than at places like Subway or Jimmy Johns. Maybe it's from steaming the cold cut meats. If you're not SUPER hungry, you'll be okay with the wait, but if you're looking for something on the spot, maybe head somewhere else. The place is nice and has plenty of seating. It was clean and very close to the Germantown library which is convenient so you can have a sandwich and then go pick up a good book. An interesting thing that I found is that they sell their used pickle buckets for $2, which raises funds for emergency personnel. That's pretty cool but the buckets still smelled like pickles. If it were a little cleaner, I probably would have picked one up. You could always use a good pickle bucket right?

That New York Steamer... oh man! Such a good sandwich. I put a little A1 and some BBQ sauce on it and it was amazing. My boyfriend got the corned beef and cheese and he almost didn't get a chance to enjoy it because I kept wanting to "taste" it. Very good sanwiches; glad we changed our plans and decided to give this place a try. Much better subs that that other place that has yoga mat materials in their "fresh baked bread". The staff was really great too. Always great to get welcomed into an establishment. Great experience overall. I'll be back.

Friendly staff, hot subs, delivery service, what's not to love?!?! I normally go for the meatball sub here. The cheese is nicely melted on perfectly seasoned meatballs and marinara sauce. My wife loves the engineer.

  • Tom T.

The Subs are great and the folks who work here greet you with a big smile and warm attitude. I really did not expect this type of service at a sub shop. I love the New York steamer. The subs are juicy and flavorful and you can tell they slice the meats and cheese everyday. I found my new favorite lunch spot. Keep it up.

Bad lettuce, soggy turkey, cardboard bread....horrible sub. Hope Quiznos comes back to Germantown as I don't see this place lasting much longer than the elevation burger it replaced.

To paraphrase an often-used saying ... First impressions are everything. I'd seen many Firehouse Subs locations over the years, but I never was in a situation where eating at one would be an option. After visiting some friends in the area, I was starving and looking for something that was both tasty and outside the usual places. After driving a while with nothing that struck me, and getting close to 10PM on a weeknight, I saw Firehouse Subs and figured now was as good of time as any to try them. Unfortunately, my first experience at Firehouse was a resounding MEH, and they lost their chance to impress this sub lover. There was one resounding negative but before I go into that, let me go over the things that were not an issue. Cleanliness was not an issue, as it was 30 minutes before close and the staff had started to clean for the night. The staff was not an issue either - they were extremely polite and professional and did not make myself or the other last-minute diners feel rushed. They brought me my New York Steamer (corned beef and pastrami) after a slightly longer wait than anticipated, but that wasn't an issue. Neither was the bread, which was warm, soft, and pretty yummy. The problem revealed itself as I continued into the sandwich. Something wasn't right. At first, I thought that the really tasty bread was overpowering the sandwich. Then I thought that maybe the meat portions were too skimpy. But I soon began to realize that it was the meat itself. It was bland and flavorless. The "steamer" seemed to have all of the flavor "steamed" out of the meat. As meat fell from the sandwich to my plate, I found the corned beef and the pastrami indistinguishable. If you got a bite with some cheese and dressing, it didn't taste bad. But taste the meat itself and be prepared to be underwhelmed and disappointed. I thought about giving three stars, and I guess I'd given them 2.5 for their positives, such as the staff and the tasty bread. But a sandwich is worthless unless ALL of the ingredients are quality. If you use great bread and fill it with crap, you're gonna get a crappy sandwich on a nice roll. And that's what I felt I got at Firehouse Subs. And there's no way that can get over 2 stars from me.

I love subs and have tried every place in the area. My favorite has been Jersey Mikes until I tried Firehouse. I went late last night to pick up 3 subs for the family. Every one of us was amazed. My wife, from NY, absolutely fell in love with the meatball sub and how it was prepared. I have the bbq brisket with cheddar cheese sub and it was absolutely unreal and tender. We are deifnitley going back!

Came in for a birthday sub promotion, and so glad we did. Delicious. A surprisingly unique and appetizing menu after feeling 'subbed' out from all the sub chains. Awesome decor dedicated to brave firefighters. Definitely a must try. Will return.

Great hot subs! I got the hero, and it was delish. We got a free sub for my husband's birthday without signing up for anything. He just showed his ID.

I'll start with the positive, and that is that my sub was really good. I had the Hook & Ladder Light, and I even had made to order with special requests, and it came out correctly, it was hot, and it tasted great. The problem is that it took 19 minutes to get it. For a sandwich. One that they probably make 100 times a day. The entire place was full of people just waiting on food. I didn't see anyone eating. Two people asked for their money back while I was waiting, because they had been waiting more than 20 minutes for their subs. There were 3-4 staff members behind the counter, so it didn't seem like they were understaffed, just incredibly inefficient. I wasn't in a rush today, but many days I don't have that kind of time to wait on a sandwich, especially if Subway or Jerry's or Quizno's can do it in five minutes. I would give them another chance to see if it was just an off-day, but if that kind of wait were consistent, I probably wouldn't go back.

Staffs are friendly. I def come back and try a different sub I always get the same thing but I'm very picky when it comes to trying different thins . The beef brisket is very good. I was telling my friend the bread is really soft and good that it' is different from subway .

Im an attorney and i work at a nearby law office. I look forward to lunch. I dont enjoy eating at new places. This is so that I might avoid the very things that occured to me here on 5/14/14. This place didnt destroy my day but did gross me out completely. I ordered the pulled pork thai chilli sub managers special. I wish i could upload the picture i took. It would explain -everything- . The pork was not so much pulled as it was completely masserated (like they put the pork through a belnder) and served as tiny strangely pink masserated (sp?) bits. It looked like vomit. No joke. It tasted like dog food or cat food or luchables. This pork paste was mixed up in the melted chese. I took one bite and threw the entire thing out. The taste was disgustingly salty. Very poor grade meat, it seemed. I will never go back there. I joined yelp in order to write this review...this is my first review.

The Germantown Fire House Subs had a great friendly atmosphere. I ordered a new sandwich the club, it was just alright. Probably just my personal taste. I am sure I would visit this location again.

Subs are alright. Bread is pretty tasty, but the meat is mediocre. Overall, service provided had always been good and I love that they delivery for a reasonable price. It's not bad and I would probably order delivery when I'm feeling lazy at home.

Today was the grand opening for Firehouse so I really lucked out deciding to stop by here for lunch. They gave everyone who came in a free medium sandwich of their choice and a small drink. They mentioned that people were welcome to donate to a charity that helps support fire departments if they wanted to. I absolute loved this idea. Not only because free food tastes five times better, but also because it gives people a chance to try out a new place in the area while they train their employees. Obviously the employees are going to be a little slow the first day, but now no one cares because the food is free. Also it shows that the management has faith in their product, which I like. Ok, enough about free food, (I could talk about it all day) on to the restaurant itself. Firehouse has a nice layout and pictures of local fires being fought along with fire helmets and jackets on the wall, nothing too surprising, but nice. The menu had a lot of different choices and seemed priced at about the same place as most of their competitors (Quiznos, Subway, Jersey Mikes). I had the New York Steamer, which was Beef Brisket, Pastrami, and provolone. The sandwich was cooked well and delicious. The one problem was they only did medium sized subs today and it was not enough for me, so if you are hungry I would definitely go withe the large sub. The soda selection here is great. They have two coke freestyles, so you literally have a hundred different options. Also, Firehouse has different sized straws for the different drink sizes. It is a genius idea. I think firehouse will do very well in this location. There are a lot of sub places in Germantown, but none of them are that close to this location and I think Firehouse is at least as good as all the others. Try this place out it has great subs and one of the only coke freestyles in the area.

I recommend the steak and cheese. Cute decor from the original firehouse station, can buy a bucket for $2 and they donated to the fire department I believe.

Love Firehouse Subs in Germantown! Fresh, fast, quality food. They remember the names of their regular customers and are always friendly, helpful, professional and courteous. We love going there for family friendly dinners!

I tried the option to order online & loved it. When I arrived, my a Firehouse Sub was waiting for me. It was warm & tasty, with great flavors! I don't usually get my subs toasted, because I prefer a softer bread, and not dry & crispy. This sub was perfect! The staff was very welcoming & polite and I felt like my business was appreciated. The restaurant was very clean, with plenty of seating. And who doesn't love their awesome Coke machine with all the options!?!?! Great food, great service, and of course-the pickle!

Ok, first impression. I ordered the ham and turkey club with bacon; 2 my surprise the sandwich came with no bacon. A bit pricy, but nonetheless the sub was pretty darn good. Establishment was clean and staff were friendly.

Weak soft bread, little flavor to ingredients, small sandwiches. Trying to cover up lack of quality ingredients with sauces and melted cheese.

There seems to be an abundance of lonely and annoying people out there that join Yelp to compensate for their failed dreams of becoming writers. A. You're not clever of witty in the slightest. B. You sound like the type of people that would complain about a free vacation in the Caribbean. Anyone that thinks this place is a "rip off" or gets upset and feels the need to write a 3 page bad review when staff asks them if they want their sub "fully involved" needs to reevaluate their obviously bleak lives and get a better hobby. We've been here maybe half a dozen times and never left unsatisfied. Their bread is awesome and the way they steam the meat and cheese makes their subs some of the best around. Only reason this location didn't get a 5 star review from me is that the drink station always seems to be out of something and their iced tea sometimes tastes old. Still overall very good though: the staff is friendly and the service has been consistently fast.

I don't even know where to start. Perhaps capitalizing on firemen to make a profit? Ironically, there was a Germantown VFD SUV and truck outside the restaurant, but no firefighter was inside. While I waited a long time for my sub (this is normal) I watched the firefighters come from 5 guys, Panda Express, and other places with their lunch back to their vehicles. That should be a hint. For some reason my wife likes this place, so I am stuck coming from time to time. Here is the run down. They are very friendly when you come in and place the order. However, all of meat in their subs are steamed and that takes forever. The process is flawed and you watch workers looking into steamers confused as to what meat is which. At least 10 minutes in an empty restaurant should be a wait expectation. This visit had a few people in it and I had closer to a 15 minute wait. As I watch the workers take meat and drain the water off of it, I know what is about to come. The first bite is actually pretty good, but as you progress down the sandwich the soggier and slimier it gets. The end is a gooey nasty mess. Now if it was cheap, I may be willing to overlook things, but they aren't. 3 subs, 2 bags of chips, and NO drinks were almost $30. If you are looking for good subs, I suggest Beers and Cheers. Yes, it is a beer store, but the subs are great.

Good and hearty subs, nearly twice the price of Subway, but also nearly twice the quality. They also offer a large selection of hot sauces and a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine.

Really great subs! Friendly when you first walk in the door. Easy to read menu with good options. Love that all subs are paired as a combo with ingredients explained. Quick service as well, even bring your sub to you table side. I will definitely be back.

Omg... I had to end my relationship with Jersey Mikes!!! I love that fact that this place made its way to the towncenter!!! I got the Italian coldcut sub and had the opportunity to take a big bite from the hubs pastrami sub!! and both are sooo damn good!!! I love how they look out for the community that they are not all for profit!! If you like Jersey Mikes you will fall in love with Firehouse Subs and part ways with JM. I think they use better quality ingredients where its not so salty. One thing I like is that here they are super clean and they dont scrape off the board that is filled with extra lettuce back into the lettuce bin like they do at the Germantown Jersey Mikes. Soda selection!! OMG!! They have coke Freestyle!! Holla!! Omg!! This place rocks my socks!

Tonight was my last visit here. Every time I've waited 20 to 30 min and they gave me a free sub voucher. I turned it down this time because 5 is enough. Food is fine but not worth this hassle.

Rated #81...are you kidding??? Firehouse belongs in the top TEN! I've been eating Firehouse subs for 10 years, always looking for a restaurant any time I go out of town because they're a growing franchise. Try it, and you'll never want to eat another restaurant's sub again!

I was in the Germantown area and decided to get dinner. I ordered three subs all on wheat bread. When I got home one was made on white and another had mushrooms. I had asked the young lady to not put mushrooms and would like my subs dry with no mayo. My receipt was accurate to what I had ordered. This is not the first time I have been here and not the first time I have run into these problems. There was more than enough employees working but I believe they were to busy talking to each other with no supervision.

  • Laura B.

We tired this place for dinner and were very impressed. I had the smokehouse cheddar and brisket sub. The meat was tender, lean and perfect amount of sauce. The soda machines with flavors are quite fun and endless possibilities. The brownie alone could bring me back. Highly recommenced!

GREAT subs. I have been several times and have not been disappointed. My absolute favorite is the pulled pork with cole slaw. Every time I have been there the service has been great. I expected to have the usual teenagers with bad attitudes serving me, but it has been quite the opposite every time. I will definitely be back. I'm happy they have joined us in Germantown!

This place has really good subs. My husband and I love the Club on a Sub. It's always good and fresh. Yeah, it's not necessarily a FAST meal, but I don't mind waiting a little longer as long as it's done right. I just wish they had french fries, though. ;)

I love firehouse subs! Their brisket sub is so good! The meat is so tender and juicy, and the sub roll is fresh and fluffy. I definitely urge you to try this place!

This place is da BOMB.COM! It's an orgasm in your mouth honestly! I live by the "Engineer Sub" my gf and I get it every chance we can! It's a MUST GO! Or try of it's your first time! GOOD-BYE Jersey Mikes! You and your non-toasted bread, salty and acidic sandwiches!! And "10-12...WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE!"

I was there yesterday. I got the turkey with bacon on wheat. It was extremely fresh-tasting, and I will be back. I also like firefighter decor. Much better than Jersey Mike's which made me ill for some reason. However, I still like some branches of Subway.

Let me tell you, I was so depressed moving to Maryland because the nearest firehouse sub was in Frederick, and I was having withdrawals so I even contemplated to drive out there just for a Hook and Ladder fully involved. Then sweet baby Jesus in the manger heard my cries and had one put near my home and all was restored again. I LOVE their subs, I recommend the Hook and Ladder, Engineer, and the steak and cheese and meatball aren't bad either.

First time visit to the new Germantown Firehouse Subs and was greeted by the staff at the door "Welcome to Firehouse!" I ordered the Turkey, bacon ranch sub which was very good and yummy. My friend got the roast beef sub which was okay but dry and needed more to it maybe oil and vinegar? Great location on Century Blvd and there's extra parking behind the shop. They have plastic firehouse hats at the register for kids and interior firehouse decorations. I'll be back to try more subs soon!

OMG - The Number 4 (ColdCut) and the Number 10 (Brisket) subs are AWESOME. Although the meatball sub they brag on is not that special. The people there are very nice too. Just a fantastic place.

  • Julie A.

I went in on promo day (the day before they officially opened). They were giving out free sub and drinks. Awesome! It's what drew me in. I ordered the Steamer sub. Quite delicious. The ONLY reason they lost a star is because I had the "dress" my sub at home. I asked for it "fully loaded" but it had no tomatoes, lettuce, etc...why?!?!? Lol! Anyway, outside of that, it was great. The manager was greeting and interacting with customers. The employees were friendly. Let's hope it continues. Good service and good food=returning customer.

The subs are unbelievably good! The service is ok, getting better every week. I will never go to Subway again.

Dry subs, dry cookies, dry brownies. Steak & cheese fell apart. Brisket tasted pre-chewed and chemical. Noisy & crowded.
