This is exactly how I think pizza should taste. I LOVE Milano's. They have really good deals and all their food is good though I think the pizza is the best. The people who work there are really nice and the delivery is always really fast. I always get a meat lovers pizza and an Al fresco pizza which has white garlicky sauce, tomatoes, and basil. Both are to die for. I've also tried the other pizza and everything taste so fresh. Monday nights are great because you can go in and get 10$ pizza with whatever you want on it. This is our go to pizza place. I can't recommend it enough!

Had high hopes from these reviews. Sadly, just another chain pizza place. I am a NY pizza snob, so if you like chain pizza and didn't grow up on the pizza I grew up on, you may like it. It has the main attribute of chain pizza...once is starts to cool off a little it gets extra soggy and doughy. Ingredients were better than the standard chain fare.....certainly a step up from that foul garbage papa johns serves. But still, its not real pizza.

Take out place, friendly enough, a few awkward seats in the joint to sit down as you wait for your order to come out. Margarita pizza, which we were encouraged to order as it was a popular item, featured regular mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes, a sweet red sauce and... thai basil? This was unfortunate. The pizza was passable after basil was picked off. Large pizza was $12. Better than dominos, but unless we were desperate for food at near 10PM (which was this case this time), I see no reason to return, unfortunately.

Delicious! I order the Lasagna and Alfredo Pasta for my volunteers and they loved it. The salad was even delicious. The servings were large and we had more than enough. Tasted great, large portions and friendly service. I definitely recommend their catering.

Got delivery. Pizza did not taste like cardboard. So I was happy.

I live in the delivery black hole that is Montgomery Village. Having found out Milano's delivers to us, we figured we'd try it. We are very happy we did! The pizza dough was very soft and flavorful, and was well cooked. The penne primavera was al dente, and the vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the sauce was bright, lemony, and delicious. My husband got the penne alla vodka, and he enjoyed the richness and slight spiciness. We will 100% be ordering again!

I carb load one day out of every other week for my keto lifestyle and Milano's has been my primary choice. I won't go into detail but they love me as a customer and I love their service. My advice is to treat any customer service kindly and give them the benefit of the doubt and reciprocity will follow. I can't stress this enough -- Don't be a cheap ass when it comes to Tipping. My regular diet consists of mostly organics -- veggies, fish etc. Thus, I'm assuming my standards and taste for processed food has been affected. So something that would not be flavorful to a person who eats this kind of stuff all the time would be the opposite on my end... Yeah their delivery is sometimes slow -- up to an hour, but it's because they're short staffed -- I'm human, so i do get a little annoyed but it doesn't happen often and i get rewarded because I tip on a ridiculous level. WHAT I HAVE ORDERED Pizza -- 4.5 stars Cheesesteak sub -- 4 stars Wings -- 4 stars (it's that seasoned breaded crispy kind you get at bars, pretty standard but they fry it perfectly on my end) Pizza Fries -- 2 stars ( i don't like fries baked ) Zucchini Sticks -- 3.5 stars (it's good but a little too much breading) Chocolate Mousse Cake -- 5 stars.

Really good pizza. Could ding them for jarred jalapenos instead of fresh, but really solid otherwise. The wings come breaded with sauce on the side. I normally hate that but the sauce is good and you just dip the wings and you're good to go. Delivery was quick and friendly. I would definitely order again the next time I'm down in Rockville.

My girlfriend and I just moved to the area and were looking for a new pizza joint. We checked yelp and Milano's was receiving a bunch of good reviews so we decided to try them too. To begin, Mo, the manager, was very helpful. Unfortunately, nowadays you do not get fast, friendly service but we received exactly that. We ordered wings and a meat lovers pizza. The wings were well breaded, not the spiciest in the world but that is what Mo had told us. Nonetheless, the wings were very good. The pizza was excellent! The crust was cooked perfectly and the toppings were perfect. I would say a New York style pizza; thin crust, light sauce, and well cooked. The price was good to top it off. This will definitely be one of our go to pizza spots from now on. HIGHLY SUGGEST TRYING IT AT LEAST ONCE!

So I was searching on yelp for pizza and I came across Milano's. Most of the reviews were great so I said "oh what the heck, let me try something new and not order Pizza Hut for once!". ****I truly enjoyed their pizza (not bad). New York style and very juicy, but I must say that I wasn't too happy about my pizzas being warm. I ordered a medium margarita pizza and a medium pizza with pineapple and pepperoni and they said that it would take 35-45 minutes for delivery. 35 minutes passed and there were at my door so I was very impressed with the service! The man that took my order was very sweet and nice and the delivery man was very nice as well! *The only downfall about Milano's is that they do not provide you with any jalapeños, cheese or crushed red pepper and I am only pointing this out because it would go GREAT with the margarita pizza and make it much juicer! I will be returning and I am super excited to place another order for the future. Yummmmmm!!!

Exellent pizza. Their any size pizza with 5 toppings for only $10 on Mondays is too good to pass up. Amastaf and warm staff.

Really good pizza. We were staying in town and needed a quick dinner, and this looked like our best option. The pizza was really tasty, and all of the toppings were great.

Some of the best pizza I have had in the DMV area. Excellent quality ingredients that make for a delicious pie. The toppings are fresh and flavorful. They'll certainly be our go-to pizza shop in the area.

Great place to order pizza. The 4 cheese white pizza is great. Not so good for subs. The sub rolls were so gooey with mayo they were inedible and the steak on the steak and cheese was all rolled up into balls giving a gag factor. Stromboli was big enough to feed two very hungry people. Wings and fries very good. Crispy wings and fries. Steer clear of the subs and you will be fine.

We have ordered from Milanos many times before and unfortunately today has very much disappointed us. We ordered our usual boneless buffalo wings and with the Milano special. We decided to order the Margarita for the first time. The wings didn't have any sauce on them whatsoever, just breading. They forgot the buffalo sauce. Secondly, the margarita (a Milano favorite) is supposed to have fresh mozzarella and basil. I think there is one speck of basil and tiny specks of fresh mozzarella the size of a dime or smaller. Was extremely upset with our delivery and will reconsider ordering from them next time.

I really enjoyed this place. It's take out only (so no dining in) I had the stomach virus a few days prior and nothing sounded good to eat except for pizza. They have a soft crust and the garlic bread was perfect for my needs. I will def go back while I'm here!

I've been here twice and while it is decent, it doesn't really scream my name. Although, because I have only tried the pasta and subs, I am willing to give it another try before completely writing it off. The first visit, I ordered the steak and cheese sub for pick up. It was alright. Not one of the better steak and cheese subs I've had. It comes with chips and a drink. Meh. The second visit, I ordered delivery online. Online ordering was easy and navigational friendly. I had the pasta primavera which was decent. It's advertised as broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, spinach in a white wine sauce. I added mushrooms and artichokes. When I got it, I was a tad disappointed because it wasn't really a white wine sauce. It was a mild tomato sauce which was not what I had hoped for. Additionally, instead of broccoli, I got cauliflower and it had ricotta cheese. If I had known, I would have ordered something else. The pasta came with a cold roll. The roll was ice cold and just inedible. I will say the penne in my dish was al dente which was the highlight. From the positive reviews I hope that I just didn't get their top menu choices, so next time I'll be trying the pizza or lasagna before I give up on them. I really want to like them! They have good service, decent prices and convenient ordering and delivery.

The place I've ordered delivery the most. Good pizzas, good sides, and the price is also reasonable. One thing to remember: ORDER ONLINE THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. I don't know why ordering through yelp is more expensive AND takes a lot more time (the record was two hours for me). And they seem to have value meals on their site too (haven't tried them out though).

Whatever you do, do not order through the Yelp app. The service was recently changed from Grub Hub to a new service. It took 90 minutes to get two pizzas delivered on a Thursday night. I can order the same thing directly from Milano's website and usually have it delivered in under an hour by their drivers. Not happy with the new delivery through Yelp. The pizzas are okay. I'd say Milano's is the best place for delivery pizza.

  • Sandy X.

The pizza was decent. Delivery was quick for a Friday night. Decent if your having drinks and hanging out. I probably won't order it again. But the service was excellent!

Milano's is now my household's go-to place for solid, delicious Italian-American fare. Their quattro formagi pizza and portobello ravioli are FINGER LICKING DELECTABLE. The salads are always fresh and crisp. My first order was a grub hub gamble, and I am pleased to say it paid off. The only dish that I find "meh" is the fettucini alfredo, and I don't get it. The cream sauce in the portobello ravioli is so savory, so dimensional, but the fettucini alfredo to me tastes as bland as a glass of milk. My partner loves it though, so could be my palate. Totally recommend it to anyone.

I work nearby and decided to give Milano's a shot for a steak and cheese sub. It's a small place with no tables to eat, just carry out. I walked in and had to wait about five minutes before someone in the back realized I was waiting to place an order. The guy who came out front to take my order wasn't very polite. Not even a quick smile. In fact he seemed quite upset. After placing my order I sat in one of their chairs to wait for my food. During my wait two employees came out front and began to complain about some business order. Both were using pretty foul language. I understand that whatever the issue might have been upsetting, but it's disrespectful to use offensive language like that in front of a customer. After 10 minutes I received my order. The steak and cheese wasn't anything amazing. In fact, it lacked a lot of flavor. Jerry's makes a better tasting steak and cheese sub. I'm not sure that I'll eat at Milano's again.

After moving to Gaithersburg recently, my wife and I had three immediate goals: 1) Learn how to get to NW DC in 20 minutes during rush hour 2) Change our mailing address on our 5 million website accounts 3) Find our go-to pizza spot We're working on the first two items but I am confident that #3 has been accomplished. We are big fans of Milano's! Milano's has a very friendly staff, on the phone and in person. We inquired about their deals and they have some pretty good ones. We typically order one large with a couple of toppings. When you drive up to the storefront, they have a couple of dedicated parking spots for their customers...very convenient. As for the pizza, we order one of two pies...either pepperoni and mushroom or pepperoni and sausage. Both are hot, flavorful and not overly greasy. The sausage is particularly tasty. Their regular crust is not too doughy and not too thin. Oh...and the price is pretty reasonable for this area.

Just had a small cheese pizza with extra sauce ! All I can say is I wish it hadn't closed so I could get another :) closest To many and Olga's which I really like in terms of fast food pizza ! Why go to Pizza Hut when u have milanos nearby ! :) will try other things ! Their staff was so so sweet and happy to be working there which says a lot about a chain! Gluck to milanos ! I am never touched by chains and are usually a necessary evil for me! Milanos actually won my heart !

This is my new favorite pizza place in moco. It's not greasy and the crust is soooo good. I only gave one less star bc they take a while for delivery. But really it's worth the wait.

I stopped by there this morning, I ordered an 8" Cheese Steak sub with chips and can of soda for $5.99 plus tax, It was ready within 10 min the bread was fresh warm and toasted medium amount of steaks with it and all the toppings such as lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh and tasted good, you can't really beat the $5.99 deal it is a really great deal for such a good food I like, I will recommend it to everyone and I will come back again when I am in the area!

We ordered pizza and wings at 6 PM. We were really hungry. We waited for our order til 8.30PM!!! When it finally arrived pizza was cold. Wings were way to soggy and greasy. Pizza tasted as a rubber. Dough was thick and tasteless. I would never order anything there.

I am in love with Milano's - I work at a doctor's office and we often order from here (at least once a week!) and have it delivered. We always get it hot, with larger portions than most Italian places, even at lunch time (when many places have smaller "lunch size" portions). I am personally a big fan of the mushroom ravioli, but have never had anything from here that didn't taste good; even their salad dressing is yummy. Prices are great - and like I said before, the portions are worth it, full stomach every time and usually enough to save for dinner or lunch the next day. Our office has ordered from both locations multiple times, but since this new one opened up on Shady Grove (near my office) we order from this one and the quality is the same. Seriously only good things to say about this place - we have recommended it to others a bunch of times and will continue to do so. Cannot say much about the actual business location as I haven't had a chance to visit yet, but if you can make food taste good a half hour after its been sitting in a plastic container, I am sure it tastes even better at the restaurant. Stromboli's are nice and big, salads are fresh, garlic knots are COVERED in garlic (yay!), dessert is delicious, and again, the portobello mushroom ravioli is scrumptious, I use the bread they provide to soak up all the extra sauce. If I had to pick the "worst" thing about this place, I would have to say the pizza crust (which I only tried once when my co-worker ordered it) was about a 7 out of 10 on the "Michelle Scale of Awesome" due to the crust not being chewy enough, but I am picky and it still tasted good.

NOPE! So over the summer delivery menus for this place started showing up on my door. So many that I could have turned them into a card game. I figured a place that puts this many menus on my door WANTS me to order carry out. They don't. Tonight I called in with an intention to try it. I realize on a Friday night - its going to take longer because I am not the ONLY one ordering delivery. With that in mind - I picked up the phone and dialed. The lady answered - said something really fast and put me on hold. Not unexpected because - again - its Friday night. After a few minutes she came back on the phone and I said I'd like to order delivery - the response in the most bothered tone you can imagine - "its going to take an hour is that OK?". There's only 2 reasons you'd tell me its going to take an hour...either 1. you want me, as a customer, to have reasonable expectations as to how long the order will take or 2. you want me to give up and hang up, Based on the tone in the lady's voice - I figured - forget it - I'll heat up some soup and call it good - even though I had expected it to be an hour - I could tell - she didn't want me to order anything - it probably would have been 90 minutes, cold, and who knows what would have been "added to it" - so Milano's - keep your menus. I just threw about 6 of them in the trash.

Had a craving for white pizza surprise me today. I have been disappointed by most pizza places in the Gaithersburg area and went online with the hope I could find something good. I sure did! Milano's made me a wonderful Quattro Fromaggi. Just the right balance of cheese and garlic sauce and a light crust. The mozzarella caprese appetizer was bright and fresh and came with a packet of balsamic so I could put on as much as I wanted and it wasn't already soggy when I got home. When I get a craving for pizza again I will be coming back to Milano's. FYI - the one in Gaithersburg is delivery or carry out only.

We ordered a take-out from here on our way to visit a friend in Gaithersburg and it was really good. The toppings were fresh and the cheese was melty and delicious. I would probably order from here again if I am in the area.

Excellent pizza with fresh ingredients that beat the chains all day long. Good variety of specialty pizzas including a number of vegetarian options as well as the usual carnivore oriented offerings. Friendly service and reasonable, if not short, wait times to boot. This has become our weekly pizza spot. Their current weekly special of any size/any topping pizza for $10 on Mondays is a steal!

I've ordered a number of things from here before and I've been very pleased. The vegetable calzone was amazing, possibly the freshest calzone I've ever had. I would certainly do this again. The pizzas are pretty good. The Portabella pizza is really good! The lunch specials are convenient and well priced. I'll be back to try the rest of their menu.

Meh. I've been craving a good chicken parm. I am from NY and being so, am kinda Italian by association. Anyway, I've been relented to the Buca's of the DC area and I just couldn't spend $40 on crappy take out. Read the yelp reviews and ordered from Milano's. Online ordering? Super easy. Star. Employee calling to confirm order and ask a few clarifying questions? Star. I love good customer service. Delivery time was pretty quick too, about 30 minutes. Half star. We got the food upstairs in anticipation - 2 rolls (no butter), chicken parm, fettucini bolognese with sausage and a cannoli. The Food was mediocre at best. Better than Buca's? Yes. Did it hit the spot? No. However, the cannoli was pretty good so half a star there. Would I order again if I am in a pinch and wanted Italian but didn't feel like cooking it? Maybe. Or I might drive the 4 hours back home to NY... I am no joke when it comes to food cravings!

Me and my family was looking for a place to eat and I didn't want fast food I saw this place. My family of 5 wanted something different without all the fuse. We got large cheese pizza, Steak and cheese, personalized Calzone, and I wanted a Salad but I got so much more. My husband said it was the best calzone he's had I a long long time. My son loved his sub, but he ate a little of everything the kicker was my 1 and 2 year old loved theirs so much that seconds was a most. I had a spinach salad with cranberries ,walnuts, chickpeas, and awesome cheese, I added grilled chicken and it was what I was craving all day, so this has become our new must have place. Everything fresh, Dough is off the scale, and all in Under 20 min. While waited. The service was great, our order was easy and I can't wait to try the pastas next time.!!

We were staying at a local hotel and found Milano's on Yelp. Food looked good and had good reviews so called up and ordered dinner along with appetizers and desserts. The price came out to be rather hefy sum for two people, but I figured, "What the heck, let's go for it," Delivery was timely and I tipped the guy fairly well. I noticed as I was unpacking the food, there were no utensils. I immediately called the store hoping the guy wasn't far away and could return utensils. The girl on the phone said she'd get another driver out here right away, which I was fine with. We ate the appetizers and waited a half hour. I called back and was passed up the chain of command. The guy said the driver was almost there, but I might want to go to the front desk and see if they had utensils. I expressed my dissatisfaction, at that point, simply reiterating the amount of money I was spending, and that it was common sense that people in a hotel wouldnt have utensils. I waited another five minutes and went to get the flimsy plastic forks that the hotel has. Which was a good thing, because the driver NEVER SHOWED. Yes, I get that we're in a hotel and not part of their consistent customer base. I used to deliver pizza in this area years ago, when I made a mistake, I always made it right. Also, we come here every year. We will NOT be ordering from Milano's again simply due to their EFF YOU customer service. The food was good, freshly made and would've undoubtedly been better if eaten while hot. The pasta was a little over done and the chicken on the Parmesan was a little tough, but everything else was excellent. If I didn't have a paring knife with me, I wouldn't have been able to eat the chicken parm without stabbing it and taking bites off the whole breast. TLDR: If you order delivery, ask that they bring utensils as well!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
