Had the mussels and linguini. Service was good meal was great. We will be back!! My wife had the the stuffed eggplant. She raved about it. I was surprised at how busy they were in this down economy. That says something about the food and service.

Amazing! Get the lasagna, it's textbook perfect: nice, dense feel, perfect amount of cheese, great sauce, and it arrives piping hot! If you're not a lasagna fan, get anything on the menu and you'll be happy. I've brought many colleagues here and everyone raved over the food every time!

Mussels & Linguini was excellent! Plenty of mussels for my ravenous 4 year old and me to share. I liked her pizza too. Nice rustic ambiance. Very friendly staff.

Never have I been so rudely treated at a restaurant by a manager. After calling to see if it was ok to bring a large group we were still treated poorly, lied to, overcharged, argued with and limited in our food choices. The manager was so concerned with soft drink charges and refused to take them off even when we had water. He even told us he didn't have Alfredo sauce or even a hamburger when we told him we had a student that couldn't have onions. Even though these where on the special board and menu. He did finally relent but stipulated only one student could do that. Our total bill was over $1000 and he still didn't have the good manners to be nice. We we're stupid for staying so please don't make our mistake. Food was average and our poor waitress tried her best to make up for his rudeness. It's obvious this wasn't a first time for this type of conduct. His greed for our dollars turned into a really unpleasant experience for my students. If he couldn't serve us in a manner that was due any paying customer He should have just told us not to come when we called.

Food is delicious and service was great! The lasagna is amazing and the peanut butter pie for dessert is the best!!

Make sure to get a Cosmo and a cannoli; they are so good. The food is decent. I hate the salad, it never looks fresh. Beside the prices of the food (TOO DAMN HIGH!!!...lol) I always have a good experience.

Still disappointed. I have eaten here twice in the past 12 years, primary because when I think Italian I go to Fratelli's in a Lavale. The food is just not good in my opinion. The Chicken Parmesan is subpar (I have had better at mall food courts). It is not too often that my husband discards food instead of getting a take home box. This has happened twice now. I will stick to Fratelli's. The last time I visited I felt like a sardine it was so cramped inside.

We stopped for dinner on our way to Wisp and it was amazing! Kids shared a small pizza and it was way more than enough. D had the chili and it was yummy, but maybe could have gone less on the salt. I got the stuffed eggplant, which was new to me and totally awesome! My martini wasn't awesome, but our waitress followed up and brought me some extra "dirty" and all was good. Great ambiance. Good wine and beer selection. We will certainly be back.

Everything about dining here was great - the service, the atmosphere, the location and the food. Stuffed eggplant was very good - marinara sauce also excellent. House salad dressing also a delight. I will be back to try the pizza.....the next table's pizza order looked awesome!

Ate there March 21, 2015. Good service, good salads...lousy veal parmigiana. It was the toughest piece of veal I've ever eaten...and way overpriced at $26. Try something else. My wife enjoyed her salad and my son liked his pizza.

Good atmosphere, great food at good prices and excellent service. One complaint is the up charge for salad dressing on the "included" salad with our entrées.

I love Giuseppe's and never turn down an offer to dine here. Favorites are the chicken parmesan ($14 - served its own gratin) and spaghetti with meatballs ($12). Entrees come with a house salad -- get the house dressing (a parmesan vinaigrette) and meat sauce on your side of pasta (with most entrees). Starters are good too. We like the crab dip ($8) and the Tuscan dipping sauce ($6) - balsamic, olive oil and lots of crushed herbs. The atmosphere is nice here. Great bar with upper-end beer selections. Ask to sit upstairs if you want it a little quieter or need some space - tables are a little close together downstairs. They've added a nice patio out back. The restrooms could use some upgrading. Our favorite restaurant in Frostburg, hands down.

The food is not bad but not great niether. But, more importantly not clean. I found a hair in my food and I informed the server she basically said so you definitely don't want a box for to go. When you walk in you can see that the mirrors are not cleaned for a long time and obvsiously the don't really care about cleanness of the place and food that much.

The food was not 4 star, too pricey and the dish was not authentic looked like it was a microwaved. The service person was great.

This is one of our favorites locally. Excellent wine list. I usually go with one of the specials which are always fantastic and portion sizes are always more than I can eat.

This place is fantastic. The food is very fresh and the service is great. we have been three times now the last visit we brought some friends who are Italian and very well versed on what Italian food should taste like and they gave it a wining review. I am vegitarian and had no problems finding great options on the menu. They also have great wine and beer with very educated bar tenders.

I just had the most delicious & healthy meal at giuseppe's. The presentation was beautiful and the combination of flavors was so yummy!

An oasis in a food desert. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is a different world. Nice, cozy, sophisticated decor, but still with a casual feel. When I was there, I think the clientele was mostly frostburg state profs. Good selection of craft beers, not just the domestic big 3 you'll find other places in town. A unique salad, more places should have olives in them. Go for the blue cheese dressing, with real chunks of blue cheese. The only thing that wasn't great was the lasagne - it was just ok. A little too much cheese, and I like it a little crispy. But the price was definitely right. Make sure you stop by if you have to go to Frostburg for some reason, or are driving by on I-68.

The food were was ok, but I don't think it was deserving of this restaurant's four-star rating, to be honest. Yes it is decently priced and yes if you are visiting here like I was it's definitely convenient and one of the better food options. I had a pasta dish and the noodles were cooked properly to al dente and the mussels were fresh and and that was all I was hoping for, really. But my friend's dish (I think it was an eggplant parmesan or something similar) was not as impressive; I think this place is kind of hit or miss. Our garlic bread was greasy and not very flavorful. Still not a bad place to eat and a safe bet if you find yourself in Frostburg.

Arrived by train...took a chance! Courtyard with waterfall was shockingly nice! Bread with dipping sauce was the best; as were the Prince Edward mussels. My wife and I shared the stuffed eggplant and Fishermans linguini...both good. Real blue cheese on salad! Excellent bottle of chianti! No room for desert!

I've been dissatisfied after the last two times coming here. I really feel the management has gone downhill a bit. Had the filet and crab special today with family and my father hated it. Way too salty and overall a poor executed mixture of what was obviously canned corn and crab with over seasoning of old bay.

This is the Italian restaurant I judge all others against. Consistently good food, good staff and a price that is reasonable. I have coming here for over 25 years and never had a bad meal. The baked ziti is always a favorite. The only issue is the dining room upstairs has no ambiance.

Takes AMEX pretty good all-around. The Greek salad was unusually above average. The chicken cacciatore was cooked nicely and rich in flavor. The spaghetti tasted soapy - not sure if it was the noodle water or the flavor of the sauce - not good generally. The cannoli was about average. Overall, a pretty decent place to eat in Frostburg.

I am entitled to my one star rating because I've been eating here for 28 years. Granted, it's been ten years but I wasted $23.00 on the veal parm. It's not what it was when I began eating there twice a week back in 1986. Folks, it's shaved... Like lunch meat and it's breaded so there's more than twice as much breading than veal. The sauce is sweeter than it used to me and the cheese is low grade at best. On the up side the salad with the $1.00 up-charge for Blue Cheese was perfect as was the one slice of Italian Sausage on the pasta. For years I've tried to mimic the veal that I fell in love with in the 1980's and I'm happy to say that thanks to many good experiences there up until the mid-1990's, I've far exceeded what they ever did but I was at least hoping for something that would have taken me back to days of old. I informed both the hostess and my server of my loyalty status and I might have thought they'd get excited and send out the manager but no, the service was less eventful than the sub-grade meal. The Cumberland and Frostburg has really developed in the past few years. It's still mega-depressed but I say no less than ten restaurants that tempted me but I wasted my loyalty and $30 on a meal that I would not have fed to my dog. Who slices veal like lunchmeat and suggests that it's a cutlet? For the love of God and all that is holy patronize one of the other eating establishments in the area. I'm a real guy and can be emailed at donny.dubb at gmail dot com. My name is Don and I live in Los Angeles and would be happy to talk to you about good italian food especially veal but please don't hate on me because of my honesty or that I eat veal on occasion.

We had a mushroom pizette to start, followed by salads and big bowls of yummy pasta. A good find!

Who knew western Maryland had such a gem of a restaurant? I've eaten here twice -- once with the parents, once with the lady -- and both times everyone truly enjoyed it. Our server had a voice that makes him a dead ringer for Nicholas Cage. All the staff were nice to us. The brick walls and decor downstairs are really warm and cozy: do make sure you get a table down here. The food is delightful. This last time I had the crab meat and spinach manicotti and the lady had sausage and peperoni lasagna. Our salads were nicely done. Desserts are incredibly reasonably priced at $5-8 each. We got out for under $40 each. Congrats to owner Joe for putting together a lovely place.

We love Giuseppe's. Just moved to town and have become regulars. The food is amazing and the specials are unique every week. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming we can't wait to sit on the patio his summer!

Have been here several times when visiting family from California. Food is the best in the area with great service. However if you don't make a reservation you will be put upstairs. What a difference. It's blah. Bright. No ambiance. Basic furniture. Stained menus. I don't mind paying for a great meal. But the upstairs feels like you should get a discount for sitting at the kids table.

Average Italian food. I asked for a few olives for my salad and they charged me an extra $1.50! Manager/owner seemed rude to his staff.

Great salad. The Alfredo sauce had a fresh zing to it. Great ambiance, loved the cozy feel of the brick. If you get the cheese cake for dessert ask for both the chocolate and berry topping. I would love to go back and experience more of their food.

Unfortunately, really, really average. Was expecting far more due to the great reviews. Downstairs is beautiful with brick walls, hardwood floors and tasteful lighting. Upstairs, where you have to sit if you have a family, is the exact opposite: old, stained brown carpet, dark green walls, white sound board ceiling and poor lighting. The pesto was way too salty and the marinara was much too sweet. At $21 I was expecting the veal parmesan to be exceptional, but it was terribly disappointing. Thin slices of veal with too much soggy breading and they stacked the slices so only the top one had any cheese. Unbelievable. The same was true for the eggplant parmesan. It's really too bad because the owner was very nice. However, we won't be coming back.

We had a wonderful meal here. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable... Our dinners were quite good (we both ordered pasta dishes, I'd like to try the pizza next time). Should have written the review sooner after we ate there so I would have remembered more details but overall we had a great experience. Definitely stands apart from some of the other restaurant offerings in Western MD... which frankly are pretty poor.

The food here is great! I had their pizza and the crust was tasty, with plenty of nice toppings. I think they went a little heavy on some kind of spice like rosemary though. Otherwise, it was affordable and very delicious. The interior is really nice, with a great long bar on one side, and plenty of tables. The lights are a little dim (which I don't like for food photos), but the people working there are really friendly and easygoing. If you're by yourself, have a seat at the bar and let the nice bartender take care of you.

i heard this is a family owned restaurant and came here as part of a school program for dinner. the food was delicious. they served fresh bread that was warm and really soft (with soft butter and parmesan cheese at the table). i had their house salad with house dressing, which was nothing special. their entrees were amazing. i ordered the chicken cacciatore and highly recommended it. very flavorful and not too dry even though it was chicken breast. i tried some of my friend's cajun pasta and another's baked ziti, both were also very flavorful. used the right kinds of spices in the right amount.

Decent place, wish I would've went there more while I was in college. I'd recommend it. It is close to the campus and the food is good for the area.

If you're eating out in Western Maryland, you really can't do better than to come here. Giuseppe's is an institution that my extended family has been coming to for years. The service is usually good, they recently rennovated the space, and since you're out in Frostburg, it's quite affordable. Pizza is great. The salad and soup so-so. I'd recommend sticking to their specials or to red-sauce staples.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
