This place has great food at a very reasonable price! They have specials that are fabulous and it definitely is enough to fill you up and (in my case, have a meal for the next day! I love their meatloaf and it's a toss up between which is better for dessert, rice pudding or bread pudding... imma go with just ordering both! The staff is super friendly and the place is clean. If you're hungry, stop in to the essex diner!
Came here with friends. One of my friends wanted to eat here so we said what the heck. Anyway i ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for breakfast and it tasted very good and the fries were just right. Not too raw nor burned. Their water also tasted good too. And the waitress we had was ultra-friendly. WILL VISIT AGAIN....
Very friendly staff and reasonably priced food. I ordered the open-faced turkey Reuben sandwich. It came with a small Greek salad, fries, and coleslaw. They were all super tasty! I ended up taking half of it home. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area!

Very disappointed in Mr Bills . I had the fish and chips $8.50 for three small pieces of fish and had no flavor I could have been blind folded and not been able to tell you what I was eating absolutely no flavor. Ask for the wifi password and it was 20 characters long why so protected. My server was very friendly and she is why I give two stars.
My wife and I love Mr. Bills's Terrace Inn. Awesome crabs! We have been here quite a bit and have never gotten a bad crab. Prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for fru-fru and fancy, keep on looking'! But if you're looking for good food at good prices in a fun atmosphere, then Mr. Bill's is your place. The staff is very friendly and Mr. Steve tells the greatest stories! Lots of photos of local celebs.
Great jumbo crab and soft shell crab sandwich. Downside is it's kind of expensive.... But very fun and delicious :)

This is everything a typical neighborhood, corner bar and restaurant should be in Baltimore. I have been here several times and usually eat in the bar area, just because of the lively vibe. Super friendly service even when the place is packed. The prices absolutely can't be beat. Last night I had the whole lobster tail stuffed with crab meat and a NY strip steak cooked medium rare with a baked potato and broccoli for $27. A gin and tonic was a hair under $4. This is a neighborhood bar....that's totally worth the 10 mile sojourn when I need a change of scene and flavor from my own hood.
Authentic Eastern Shore Seafood. Neighborhood feel but you won't feel like an outsider.
Arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday. Got seated right away though there's a little bit of a crowd. The server came up and asked us 24 or 38? We thought it was the size of the crab so we ordered 24 since you have to order a dozen at a time and there's only 2 of us. We also ordered a bowl of crab soup from others recommendation. The crab soup arrived right away and it's a pretty decent sized bowl. It was more like a gumbo without the rice. It has pretty good flavor and some good sized chunks of crab. Slightly spicy but not like super spicy, so if the heat bothers you, then you should not order this. It's not too salty so it was good. Waited almost 40 minutes before our crab arrives. I think they probably only have 1 or 2 steamers and only steam one or two order at a time. The crab was really good. Lots of Old Bay seasoning. It gets kinda too salty at the end of the meal though. We also counted the crab and I think we got 1 or 2 extras. Hubby insisted he ate 8, though I thought he ate 7... Highly recommend this place for crab. We didn't try anything else since all we wanted was crab. Some tips: When you get into the restaurant from the bar side of the door, you have to walk into the crab/seafood eating area to get the servers attention. Yuengling from the tap was good!! The 24 meant the cost, not the weight or size!! So if you can afford it, get the higher number and get there early. If you are going with only 1 other person, get someone you can stand eating with for more than 2 hours. We spent 3.5 hours total in there and 2.5 on eating the crab. ;) Wear your crappy clothes!! And pants!! It splashes everywhere... They don't provide bibs like those in the south during crawfish festival. =)

I waited and hour and 25 minutes for them to deliver one cheese steak sandwich. When it finally arrived, it was so dry. Not even worth it. :(
Finally! A place with not only great subs but overstuffed too. Everytime I call to order the staff seems very unfriendly but the subs make up for that. I recommend their Italian cold cut. The oil and vinegar infused with Parmesan cheese set this sub apart from the rest. I really don't care for their pizza. I know what they are trying to do with the "NY slice" but there isn't much flavor at all. Stick with the subs
I've been in for a slice more then I can remember. Plus I love the staff.

Breakaway bar & grill has Now Re-opened under New Management ( same nice owners). So, lets stop in and give it another try!! We use to frequent the Breakaway only on nights we shot pool there. Wasn't a very welcoming place like we liked to go. So, we heard they were "Re-Opening", so we decided to give them another shot. I'm Truly Happy we did. The New Mgr. Renee, is such a Great, Fun, person. She always serves you with a smile, and if your not in such a good mood when u get there she makes sure to crack a joke or two to have u forgetting your troubles. Renee made Every Customer feel WELCOMED!! She introduces herself to you and if your not one of the Many friends and customers that followed her from the bar she tended for nearly 30 yrs, she introduces you to everyone, making you feel like you have known them for years. This is defiantly a friendly, fun place Worth stoping in an trying out. Renee & Mary have specials during Ravens & Orioles games, along with the kitchen being open, they also have where everyone brings a dish during the games and everyone shares, Everyone dresses up, to support their favorite teams, and we have a BLAST!!! As for Mary & Bill who own the Breakaway, you couldn't ask for nicer people. They have the Best prices in town!! $1.00 domestic beers all day, and Only $1.50 in the evening!! They also have Mary's Own Homemade shooters ( her own Secret Recipe). Yummy! So, if you are trying to find a genuinely nice place & people, to enjoy a cold one or a game of pool or horseshoes, you'll find it here!! So... Stop in and say Hi!! to Renee, Mary, Bill. & and the great staff they have!! Enjoy!!!

I ordered delivery yesterday. I've never eaten here before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Grub hub estimated that my food would take about an hour but it arrived within 20 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a cheesesteak, fries, drink and a slice of chocolate cake. Everything was very good. The best part was the cake though. So good.

Reviews:
This location is a little hard to find. Kind of tucked in the side of a gas station with bad signage. However, if you aren't a carry out person, this won't effect you. Delivery is always fast. I've had multiple menu items and can only remember being disappointed once. Fries are the battered crispy kind. I once had some that were well overdone. Subs are well put together and flavorful. Bread is chewy and fresh. Pizza is also a very tasty choice. They have boli bites (boneless wings) and they are delish.

Reviews:
Amazing prices! And Bob is great and always provides the best. Customer service is helpful and gets the best for what I am looking you. The crabs are so delicious and decent, meaty sizes.
I really hate to give Steamin Demons such a low score, since the owner and my fellow customers were so nice, but 2* might even err on the side of generosity. Have passed Steamin Demons tons of times and always wondered about the place, and finally decided to check them out. They have great crab prices--last night was $1.50 crabs--for not great crabs. Given the price, I expected them to be small. I didn't expect so many to be so light, though. (As another reviewer has said, many were paper thin.) Also, a few were over steamed and very mushy. I'm happy that they have a loyal following. I wish I was one to become a regular--the people were so friendly and wam and prices so good--but since there are so many good crab carry outs out there, I'll give them a pass.
Great crabs at a reasonable price. I love the seasoning that they use for the crabs. Do get your group together and a keg of beer and get yourself a bushel and enjoy.

Reviews:
I've only had Jad's carry out but I have to say the food is ok. If you order carry out from them be prepared to wait......awhile. They usually tell me 30 minutes and even after that I still end up waiting another 20 minutes just to get my food. The food is ok, nothing special but beats McDonalds. The cream of crab soup was horrible though and looked like it came from a can.
When someone asks for a great place to eat in the area, I say JAD's. Some would say, pizza johns. Not me.. I don't like frozen food and greasy pizza made from "family" recipe. Nope! JAD's is home cooking. Service doesn't have to be good. Atmosphere doesn't have to be good. Why? Cus the food is excellent. Close your eyes, scroll your finger across the menu and order whatever you land on. You won't be disappointed. Drinks are priced to be affordable and they have nice rooms to use for showers, birthdays or whatever else you need. DJ on Friday and Saturday nights are good. Bar maids make strong tasty cocktails. What else? I don't know, go try it!
Jad's is one of those places where you get treated like part of the family. The crab and shrimp scampi special is maybe the best thing I have ever eaten. I have never had anything bad. Some highlights: cream of crab soup, the breakfast crab omelette, the crab cakes and the fries. Battered fries that are crunchy and seasoned just right. Cheap drinks and a fun bar staff. It's not a fancy restaurant but if you get past the sort of rundown looking (but always clean) inside you will get some of the best food you've ever had!

Shea’s Restaurant

Essex, 21221
Reviews:
Shea's has been around for a long time and for a good reason. They serve a great breakfast at a reasonable price. The old Shea's is gone and a new one that is much bigger and better has replaced it in the Country Ridge Shopping Center where the old Ames sign still hangs. It is much larger and looks great. There are booths and tables with plenty of room between them. I went on a Tuesday morning for breakfast with friends. I ordered the $1.99 breakfast with two eggs over easy, home fries and two pieces of toast. I have not been to Shea's in years and was totally surprised they still had this. The breakfast menu is fairly extensive. Others remembered the pecan waffles and tried them. They thought they were delicious. The cinnamon roll french toast seems to be a popular choice. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. The waitress was friendly and did not rush us as she came back several times till we were ready. The food was delivered quickly and was hot. I see that they are serving lunches now but this review is only about the breakfast. I would feel confident to try lunch there as the food has always been fresh and delicious. So if you are in the neighborhood this is a great choice for breakfast. You will not be disappointed. It is a unique experience.
This place is a staple in ALL my visits to Maryland. Every time I come here I'm warmly greeted by a friendly face and promptly seated. Service is always on point and is probably one of the best hearty breakfast's I've had. The array of breakfast food's is every-growing and there are SOOOO many options, one of the biggest breakfast menu's I've seen. They have perfect portions to choose from for any appetite. You can't go wrong with Shea's unless you're a food snob and can't enjoy a hearty, homey and awesome meal.
New location offers some challenges(size). Service is decent. Food is consistently tasty and fresh. Breakfast is their specialty. I love their breakfast burrito.
