Have never eaten anything bad here. Their Greek souvalki is fantastic. Their pizza's are to die for and great deals on them. My whole workplace orders from there (500+)

The food at this place is very inconsistent and the service is awful. The pizza and wings are decent...but anything else is questionable. Subs and sandwiches are often made wrong and the staff does not care about fixing it. Order at your own risk.

Nice order taker, efficient delivery, good enough crab soup, but the pizza was very heavy, greasy, and just did not taste good. There are so many other pizza options!

Just placed an order for a few different items for delivery and they missed one of our item and my shrimp salad was absolutely disgusting and not what I ordered or what was described in the menu. It came with tiny baby shrimp which was soaked in some spicy chilly sauce and drenched my salad. I asked for thousand island dressing but I couldn't even eat it because of the spicy chilly sauce on my salad? Wtf?! I tried calling back but their phones are off for the night.

My favorite pizza place near me. Pizza is delicious and so are the wings. I always order the salads from there. The Greek and buffalo chicken salads are delicious! The soups are very bland. The service is pretty quick. Don't order fries from here. They are usually very cold by the time they get to your house.

Dine at your risk. Extremely inconsistent food and extremely rude management! You can order the same thing 3 different times and 1 time it will really good and the other 2 barely edible. And don't both to call and complain if your food is unedible because they don't care, will cut you off, make excuses, and don't even offer to fix it. I've never heard a manager talk to a customer the way these people do. I'm done eating here!

The food here use to be much better but sadly the quality and service has gone down over the past several years. On an average day, you can expect average food. The pizza is decent but stay away from the subs. On a bad day you can expect pizza with too much sauce and cheese that isnt melted. The banana cheesecake can be tasty but normally has been sitting around too long and the cake slice are still frozen in the center. There are too many other choices in the area that offer better food, dont waste your time here.

Awesome pizza! Subs are pretty good too. Delivery usually arrives faster than they estimate, and the pizza is almost too hot to eat!

I pushed this to five stars to boost the grade. I see no reason to give it less than five too. We got a buffalo pizza. It's pretty damn good. On a Tuesday it was crowded at 7pm. Recommend. Lots of good specials.

Hadn't had anything from Philly's Best in over a year. For some reason I thought I didn't like their pizza. But the fates aligned last night. We needed pizza for our TMNT marathon date night and we didn't feel like driving too far because it was cold and snowy. Just opted for a plain cheese pizza. It was pretty good. The crust was soft, not tough and chewy like I had remembered. It's got kind of a greasy cheesy taste. I mean that in a good way, it's not like obscenely greasy where you need to blot it with napkins. I think the turtles would approve of our choice. We've gotten veggie subs from here before and they aren't bad either. They have all the standard pizza joint fare plus some more random items like quesadillas and ribs. (Quick update: they sell Vacarro's Cannolis!!!!!!!!)

I definitely should have read the reviews here before I ordered. I was hungry and the menu was in the folder in my hotel room. My order was messed up, and it happened through a misunderstanding. I get it, but the person was very argumentative and kept saying I don't know what you want me to do. I wanted simple cheese fries, but not with cheese whiz. She tells me after the fact that they refuse to use anything but cheese whiz with their fries. They will not give me mozzarella, provolone, or American despite the fact they have all of those cheeses on their menu in other products -- like their pizza. I just want something I'm willing to eat. When I mentioned that I didn't even get a fork with my meal she blamed me saying it was my fault for not asking for it. If you eat here you better hope the order is right because you'll get no support from anyone that works there!

While I can't speak to the food, I can speak to the service. I was attempting to order a large number of pizzas for my son's birthday party at a nearby establishment. I attempted to order 8 large pizzas that according to their specials would have run around $62 before tax. After repeating my order at least 5 times over a several minute period I was told they would not honor that special because it was being delivered to a birthday party. The new price would be $87. Oh well, I went ahead and ordered 7 pizzas (one less) from Chef Paolino's for more money ($95) and no delivery, BUT at least I know that their pizza is good and they aren't trying to pull a fast one on me. Will never order from here again.

Tried this because it's next to my daughter's dance school. This is the best pizza I've tasted in years. We always go with the pepperoni or Hawaiian it authentic and the crust is perfect. Wings are great also we enjoyed the carribean her flavor alot. If your unsure...try it...you won't regret it.

I'm really impressed with this pizza. My fiance is from the NYC area and we're always seeking the best pizza in the area. This one is the closest to a perfect pizza that you'll get in the Columbia area. The only pizza in Maryland that compares is Pasta Mista in Towson. We've had many varieties of pizza here already and they've all been fantastic. The crust is just the right thickness, the sauce and cheese are vary flavorful, and there are many many toppings. Well done, Philly's Best!

If you're a vegetarian..No. Just no. Don't. This is one of those situations where yelp should have a negative star rating. My office orders from this place from time to time even though there is ALWAYS something wrong (too salty, too greasy, soggy subs, dry chicken, turkey dinner that tasted like it was cooked with bacon...I could go on) and despite the fact that someone has altered their menu for a more appropriate name: Philly's Worst. I usually turn them down but the other day I didn't bring lunch, didn't feel like going out, and somebody else was paying so beggars can't be choosers; I got a garden salad. Iceberg lettuce, a few slices of cucumber and I think 1 wedge of tomato with a packet of dressing. Fine. It is what it is, that's typical of places like this, I mean god forbid they break out the romaine. The next day the rest of the office was ordering from there again and again the office was buying (also again I was too lazy to go get something that would actually be edible - this is why laziness is like a sin or whatever probably). Since I'd already had a few glasses of water that day I decided Iceberg lettuce was probably overkill. I ordered a spinach quesadilla, because who could really f that up? These guys. I peeled around the edges...mostly cheese, looked okay. 1 bite, 2 bites, WTF. I pull back the tortilla to find tiny chunks of some kind of unidentifiable meat and I ask my coworker what she thought it was....ground beef? sausage? She couldn't figure it out but confirmed that it was definitely meat. After going to the restroom to vomit I called them to ask them why they would put meat in a spinach quesadilla and complain about how irresponsible and improper their food handling must be and the girl on the phone was arguing that they wouldn't have put meat in it....really? do you think I pulled some mystery meat out of my desk drawer?! what, so I had an excuse to purge? Because I like arguing with snotty sub-shop employees on the phone? girl, please. So she goes back to the kitchen, leaving me on hold for a good 6 minutes and comes back on the line and says that their driver will be coming back to pick it up so they can inspect it, because how else can I prove what they've done wrong? Uh...they could look in the obviously dirty/unwashed sauté pan! But okay, let me just dig that out of the garbage for you...The driver returned to pick up the MEAT and spinach quesadilla in question and did bring a replacement...but there is no way in hell I would ever eat anything from Philly's Worst again. Shame on me for not THOROUGHLY pulling apart and inspecting every inch of my food that was supposed to be tortilla, cheese, spinach prior to taking a bite of it, but shame on YOU for 1. putting someone's health at risk, do you wash your cooking utensils? pans? hands? 2. denying that you did anything wrong and being nasty on the phone and 3. WHAT EVEN WAS THAT MEAT? sausage? It looked like it came off the bottom of someone's shoe. Gross.

Two years ago I would've given 4 or 5 stars for their pizza. I used to order from them regularly. Not so much now. The pizza is more doughy and thick, cheese and sauce tastes different as if they changed their brand/recipe. Their cheesesteak subs are pretty good though.

I requested an order for delivery and the guy seemed nice and polite and that combined with the fact that it doesn't appear to have given me food poisoning gives it 2 stars. He took my order and quoted me 25-30 minutes which seemed appropriate for the distance and considering the fact that it was like 2:30 on a Tuesday. My food did not get to the office until an hour later, but I've been in the food business before, I understand things get busy. That didn't count against them too much. The buffalo chicken panini was disgusting though. The French fries were soggy without even the slightest edge of crisp to them (yuck) but the panini was questionable. I guess it was supposed to have bacon on it, but as I was pulling it off the panini, it didn't look anything like bacon. It looked more like really gross thick rubbery roast beef. The blue cheese didn't exactly taste right either and the panini bread was soggy and gross as well. I ended up pulling the chicken off and just eating that. It was good chicken though. I guess I'd try it again because the pizza reviews look decent but I'll be staying away from the paninis.

I ordered delivery so I can't really speak for the restaurant itself. We ordered philly cheesesteak, honey bbq wings and pepperoni pizza. None of the food were bad but i wouldn't say it was great. I liked the pizza because it was cheesey just the way I like it. The honey bbq wings were bit on a small side but it tasted pretty good. Cheeseteak was ok. I think it was something about the bread. I've had cheesesteak with great bread and I gues i was expecting the same.

Called at 7:05pm ordered a sub and 20 wings, was told they would be here in an hour. They showed up at 8:35 with a soggy sub and dry wings. A year ago I got serious food poisoning from a shrimp salad I had there. Im done never again.

Yum yum yum is all I got to say. Had cheese steak earlier today and it was the best. Then I had wings tonight. Philly's is my spot. Quick and friendly. Keep up the good work

We do takeout from them every few weeks. I'd recommend getting them to deliver. It is crowded and uncomfortable to wait for your food. And when you get delivery the food will be hot - they just have the timing down better with delivery. They have consistently good food. The pizza is good and I love their greek salad with grilled chicken - huge and fresh. They have a wide variety of food options. The gyros is also good, my son loves the philly cheese steak and wings - and their pasta like the manicotti is good (they have good marinara sauce) - well, we've enjoyed everything we've gotten there and we've gotten food from them for years! Make sure if you get delivery and want to put it on your credit card to pay for it over the phone. The delivery person will not take a credit card, only cash. The only way to pay with a credit card is to pay for it over the phone when you order the food.

For what it is, it's pretty good place. Pizza is a bit over cheesed for my taste (a college version of me would've loved it), but it was good and filling. Wings were actually better than I expected, though I'll have to opt for the hotter wings next time. It's good , but not spectacular, and will definitely be a standby for those nights that I just don't want to cook.

The drivers are the best thing about Philly's best, nice guys. The Elkridge location is the worst, the manager is horrible and has an awful attitude problem. Customer service is not her forte. Keep in mind.. "customer is always right" mentality. When you serve the wrong food.. accept it and correct it. Otherwise you lose business. And we are in the business of customers service , I live it and breath it everyday!! Lets get real this is a sub shop!!And most of your customers are carry out !!! Why would you want to mess that up!!!If she is the owner then she should work on pleasing then have a disgruntle customers to write a bad reviews !!plus this is not the frist time this mananger and I have had words!! I guessI was setting my self up for punishment!!

One of THE BEST pizzas in the area. I don't know if it's the crust, or the sauce, or what but their pizza is incredibly tasty. And you can't beat their $7.99 X-large 1-topping carryout special. My office-mates and I order there often. This place is always busy and for good reason. The spaghetti and garlic bread are decent, too.

I spend a lot of time on the road, so when I'm home I never have a chance to really stock my fridge or do any sort of real cooking. Philly's Best is as good as it gets. I love this place. I've been here for years and for parties or just sitting at home relaxing, PB has me covered. Drivers are usually very quick and the food has always been consistent and well made. Sure there have one or two times when I order something and it comes out _really weird_, like a gyro that was just mush, but for the literally hundreds of times I've ordered from PB, I'm still pleased. I'll leave you with a quick nugget of knowledge, the 'Devil's Pizza' is excellent for hangovers.

Being a Philly native (crap, did I just admit to that out loud?) I always approach joints like this attempting to associate with my hometowns somewhat skeptically. And while the products are not necessarily the same as what I may find at Pats or Genos or Jim Steaks, I do feel the quality of food at this place is a step above most of their competitors of this type. I will qualify this review by stating I have never eaten their pizza, nor their dinner entrees such as Seafood Alfredo. But their cheesesteaks, gyros, wings and salads are all very good. They often have decent specials at lunchtime for the price conscious, which I often am. They have a little ice cream counter, and a good selection of what appears to be at least locally-made desserts (cakes, etc.) a few of which I tried and found to be rich and sweet, which is what I required. As some folks here have noted, however, moss will grow under your toes during busy times while you wait for your order. Even if you are eating in, I suggest you call your order to them in advance. FWIW - this joint remains in my regular lunch rotation, and I still eat there at least every other week, even if I do have to wait on occasion.

Been here a few times recently and its really a hit or miss for me. 1 time their pizza would be hot, fresh, and the texture of the crust would be great. The next time, their pizza wouldnt be as fresh, kinda stale, luke-warm, and the crust would be chewy and tougher. 1 time their subs would be hot and greasy (Which I like) with the meat pouring out. The next time their subs would be hot and extremely greasy (Which I dont like) to the point where the brown bags would be demolished due to the grease. Delivery guy gave me the bags and the second I got it I see my sub falling through the bag (Due to the grease making the bag too weak for the heavy substance) onto the floor, spilling all over the place, and me screaming NOOOOO! and my face like =O In slow motion... Ofcourse I didnt say that out loud, was thinking that in my head haha. The delivery guy's face reaction was priceless but doesnt say sorry and says "The food will be 18.42".......... And I STILL gave him a decent tip of 4 dollars. Why? Because the other times I got the food delivered (Different delivery guy) their service was much better. So it all depends on you and your experiences... This place may be great for some, and terrible for others... Its A-OK for me.

Everything about this place is amazing. The food is great, cheap price, and hits the spot. This is the place I go get my pizza and wings every time the Ravens play.

Doesnt even deserve 1 star but i had to fill in something DAMN TERRIBLE!! AWFUL!!! Not only did it take a full hour and 15 minutes to get me my sub and french fries but they were cold, soggy and gross! WILL NEVER GO BACK AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER!

My kids still want to love this place but I can't eat here anymore based on, you guessed it, shoddy customer service. We order delivery from here at least twice a month for the past few years. Today, as soon as I called I could hear the lady who answered the phone had major attitude. Okay, whatever, just take the order. I asked for 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni but what I got was EXTRA, EXTRA and even more EXTRA cheese with a few pepperoni on one side. Gross, and inedible. Don't get me wrong, I like a healthy dose of cheese but this was chunky and smelled kind of weird. Just too much. I called and got even more 'tude but I ignored it because I was in a rush. Told them I would bring the pizza back and just eat the new one there because it was on the way to where I'm going. So basically, I saved them another trip to my home. Well, we get there and the pizza is ready but it's lukewarm and has barely any cheese. HAHA, so funny! All the employees are staring and basically daring me to say anything. The Holy Ghost kept me from engaging in foolishness with them in front of my kids and we just didn't have time to wait for them to make me another pizza. Plus, I knew I couldn't trust them to do a decent job with it as this point. Crust was good but pizza was dry and nowhere near what we usually get from them. So two extremes with two pizzas. Big, huge fail. Too bad because we always counted on PB for a tasty, piping hot pizza. Now, I'm driving to Ledo's because I know what I'll be getting. PB has proven to be way too unreliable.

I work across the street, and I order takeout from them just about every day. They have yet to disappoint!

This place is too close to our house to be good for our wallets. We've tried almost everything on the menu and haven't found anything bad yet! Their cheesesteak calzone is to die for! They recently renovated, so there's a lot more seating now. The telephone ordering service quality could use some work, but our order has always been correct. Grab a menu while you're there, you'll be ordering again soon!

  • Luna B.

Best pizza and subs around town! Whatever I have ordered here, whether it's pizza, cheesesteak, basic turkey club or chicken salad sandwich, it has been superb. I agree with some of the other reviewers that sometimes orders are not aways correct on carry-out, but the lady at the front desk does try to accommodate. they are crazy busy at times, and in that area, I imagine a lot of people try to get over on them, so they don't always budge the first time or seem to not have time. I don't think the lady is the owner, just a manager. Always friendly. Best price for pick-up pizza around town! 7.99 for an x-tra large pizza...can't beat that!! ...Give it 5 stars for the yumminess of the food for a little carryout!!!

  • ASH J.

The subs at this place were terrible. The cheeseteak was so dry and had no taste and the bread was soggy. The meatball sub was just as bad.. the meatballs had an unnatural texture to it. It was an experiment to try this place out and we are definitely not going here again .. so we will be sticking with Gateway Pizza and Subs!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
