The restaurant has a charm from sharing the building with a live theater and good service. The Reuben was good and the club would have been better if the bread quality was better. Desserts are very good with sugars held in check. The restrooms are down a long set of stairs.

The burger was nothing more than a dry hockey puck. I ordered medium and got well done. Chips or fries as a side but an up charge for a side salad. Salad comes with a dab of dressing. Needless to say I had to order another, which still was not enough. Very disappointed, this place was recommended by the Hampton Inn staff.

Banning's was recommended to me when I asked for a good place to eat at a local hotel. I'm always wary about hotel desk clerk recommendations since most of the time you wonder if they think Taco Bell is awesome, or if they're getting a kickback from the place. Anyway, Banning's is OK. Nothing special. I ate at the bar, which I normally don't do but they don't have a tremendous amount of seating. The clam chowder was excellent, tasted homemade. It had a nice, flavorful cream base and big chunks of clam which is to be expected in this area. I ordered the Prime Rib which took forever, but they had a large group in the back which most likely got their order in ahead of me. It wasn't as hot as I'd like a piece of meat to come out, but I forged on since I didn't want to wait on another steak. The bartender was attentive and provided good service. They had a TV showing the ball game which was nice. All in all, it was OK.

Really solid place. Burgers are excellent and sandwiches are too. Bar had a good crowd of people who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Good service when dining. Only downside to place was outside seating: there were tons of flys, so we had to move inside. But the staff was very accommodating and found us a spot inside, even though it was picked!

Can't wrap my head around the negative reviews. I have been here several times and always found that the food was exceptional and prices modest. My favorites range from the reuben at lunch to a nice steak and popovers for dinner. Craft beers on tap are constantly rotating and turning me on to new selections. The location is perfect, right in the heart of town, which makes for a great walk after our meal. We love this spot and it will continue to be my go to spot for casual lunches to private dinners.

We stopped in during a pub crawl. The place was packed so we decided to come back later. The owner? / manager ? Was very accommodating and permitted us to sit at a table to drink but not order a meal when we returned. The waitress did not like it and made it known. The overall atmosphere was nice but the prices for the drinks was a little steep. I think we will give them another chance when we return to this town again.

4.5 stars. Crabcake sandwich was very tasty; others in my party raved about the tuna. Beer selection looked extensive -- will have to try next time, but the fume blanc we got was on point. Will definitely be back!

Food was great, but waitress was so annoyed that we came in 30 minutes before the kitchen closed on a Friday night. (Out-of-town guests... sorry.) She rushed us through the entire dinner. I told her I had a gluten allergy and it was in one ear and out the other. She didn't bother to let me know what was gluten free when my table ordered a bunch of sides. I've been at restaurants where they take allergies very seriously and I got the impression our server was more interested in going home. Won't return.

I was visiting Easton, MD for a week and I heard this restaurant was one of the best local eateries in Easton. I may have had really high expectations. I had a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese cooked well done. The burger was ok but it wasn't anything to brag about. I had better burgers at five guys. It's a really nice ambiance though.

In town for a show at the Avalon Theatre, next door, we had checked out the menu and reviews and thought it looked like a nice change of pace so we gave it a try. We walked in at 5:00 p.m., the restaurant was empty with the exception of two tables of four. There looked to be about 9- 10 empty tables. We were told that they were fully reserved so we sat at the bar. The bar was empty with the exception of three other guests at the far end. The bar was dirty, someone who appeared to be a manager finally wiped it down, then the bartender began taking our drink orders. As she took each order, she walked away and proceeded to make the drink. She did this for each of the four of us. After about 10 minutes, we each had beverages and she handed us menus. We watched in amazement as they turned away guests because they were "fully reserved", but tables sat empty. We ordered from the light fare menu, chicken pies and the Guiness Stew which seemed to be house specialties. We also ordered "frings", half fries, half onion rings. We continued to watch in amazement as the bartender looked up drink recipes and slowly filled orders, after about 30 minutes, our food arrived. Tables still sat empty. We asked for bread and were told it would take about 5 minutes and they forgot the "frings". The bartender apologized and put them in as a rush order. The bread arrived after we all had finished our meals, still no "frings". Finally, about an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived, we enjoyed the fabulous "frings". These were the highlight of the meal! The chicken pies were not well seasoned and the potatoes were undercooked while the chicken was tough. We ordered dessert because of the reviews here, but were sadly disappointed. The cherry cheesecake looked like Sara Lee and was served room temperature, the pineapple upside down cake was sparse, dry and flavorless. Maybe lunch is a better option.

I'm hesitant to give one star, because people often see one star and assume the person who wrote the review has an ax to grind. But I also can't figure out where that second star would come from. We started with the French onion soup. The broth was thin, with a few onions and dried herbs floating around. Reminded me of what comes out of those blue cans. The bread was a Pringles chip island in the middle of the broth sea, and had a tiny slice of cheese on top. I get that French onion soup is difficult, but if you're going to serve it like that, why even put it on the menu? After waiting about 45 minutes, our burgers came out. One of us ordered the platter with fries, but it came out with potato chips. They were willing to replace it with the side of fries, but the portion was so small it didn't justify the extra cost. The fries were served in the same modern square bowl as the soup. I don't get their obsession with these bowls. What is this, PF Chang's? It doesn't even match the tavern theme. My burger was supposed to have grilled onions, lettuce and tomato, but came up short on the lettuce and tomato. They brought out replacements right away. However, the grilled onions definitely tasted burned. I ordered onion rings as my side dish. They were the only enjoyable part of the meal, except that they only gave me four onion rings. Four! That doesn't even pass the laugh test. Then the bill came. Damn that was expensive meal for what we got. I can't believe this place is still in business for what they serve and what they charge. And I won't even factor the waitress' attitude or the dirty bathroom that they share with the theater, because I think those are petty things to base a review on. But man, this place really belongs on Restaurant Impossible. And no, I'm not basing my review on all the mistakes either. I get that restaurants can be off from time to time, but everything here was so consistently terrible. Compare my review to the older two star review on here. The owner makes a point of saying the review was written a long time ago. But clearly nothing has changed.

Great dining experience. The atmosphere is busy, but not overwhelming. I was absolutely entertained with the bar crowd. Also a great place to go if you just want a steak or burger at the bar! I'd recommend the Banning's Burger for lunch or any of their steak options for dinner as well. The quality of beef is phenomenal, and has always been cooked to perfection (even though I prefer mine rare). All in all I'd say a great stop in a scenic location, and a must have experience if you're looking for some great food and fun. If you're looking for a craft beer also, you won't find a better selection, plus they update their taps regularly. All five stars are well deserved!

I don't know what happened with the previous reviewer but we were delighted with both the food and service. I'm sure it helped that we called ahead for a reservation. My lamb fell right off the shank and despite the fact that I don't normally care for pork chops the center cut my wife ordered was delicious.
