Clean, large fresh inventory and cool staff. We picked up a bushel of steamed crabs and shrimp. Said they have us 38s, but they were huge. We were very stoked. Don't halft step. Come here to get super fresh crabs and shrimp in a clean shop.

The crabs all good, but they charge you 3% to use a credit card to deter you from paying with plastic and using cash. That may not be much for a dozen crabs, but when you purchase bushels, it get to be a little too much. Sorry, I have to pay my taxes on what I make and the Salty Dog will have to pay taxes, (since we all know that all cash deals never make it to the books). Most restaurants absorb this as a way to keep customers coming back. It's part of business expenses.

We got two dozens of medium crabs because of they were out of larger size crabs. Great flavor (not too much Old Bay to burn my mouth) and great pricing. It was almost half of the price of dining out for crabs in Canton/Essex Area. Great find!

Best place, hands down, to get crabs. Me and my family have gone here for years. Seasoning is perfect and never an empty crab. You need to order in advance, like days, especially in the summer and weekends. This place is so good they run out fast so don't expect to just show up and get what you want. Don't be surprised when you go in and see it packed. It's a small place. If you want great crabs this is the place. Be patient and order ahead, even if it takes multiple calls to get an order in...you will not be disappointed!

If you have never had crabs or scrimp from the DOG you are depriving yourself of the best tasting seafood you will find in Baltimore. In true Charm City fashion this local favorite is basically a shack in the middle of a parking lot. Like most of these "shacks" in Baltimore ... you can't judge a book by its cover. The phenomenal taste Salty Dog offers in like no other.

Got here late on Sunday so all that were left were small/medium crabs but that was cool cuz I wanted crabs!. Got a dozen and 1/2, plus corn on the cob (steamed with the crabs!) and coleslaw to round out the feast. Crabs are steamed to order so if you cant wait 20 minutes, call ahead. There were many cars that pulled up and got their goods while we were waiting so calling ahead is definitely the known thing to do. Crabs were good flavor wise and for the size, lots of meat. We ate them up! Coleslaw was similar to KFC with a bit more vinegar so good there too. Corn was the bomb! Will definitely hit this place up again.

Salty Dog is a real Baltimore seafood lovers dream. They know how to do it right. Seafood is LOCAL unlike many other establishments. Salads are tasty. Shrimp Salad Devine. Staff is like your next door neighbor. Well worth the trip.

Buyer beware, anyone thinking to depend on the Hours Open posted by this business needs to take a step back. Showed up minutes before the closing time of 8pm and found the doors locked but the "OPEN" sign glaring away. Looked through the door and saw a pot steaming away but no one answering my banging on the door. If you are in business to make money then be open during the times posted. Had a Huge order for other than steamed crabs and you didn't show up. Found close to $200 worth of frozen seafood elsewhere and we will be shopping there first from now on. Thanks for making our decisions easier. Goofs.

Picked up a dozen Chincoteague oysters for $8.99 and two jumbo soft crabs on Tuesday. Everything was delicious. Especially the oysters. Staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked which selection of oysters they had for sale were the saltiest. Thanks guys!
