Yea, these are great subs. But if your in the mood for the best and your already in dundalk then call Pizza John's in Essex and your sub will be ready when you get there. We like Captain Harveys subs for there size and price. Pizza Johns is over priced but you get what you pay for, a bad ass sub.

Captain harveys sub shop has been around for many a years ever since I reber gack in the 70's when I had my 340 Duster We would wondet over to captain harveys for there Killer cheese steak subs thes subs are overstuffed chopped steak grilled to perfection the fries and everything on the menu are incredable .ive been eating here since the 70's and Many folks around hete know of this large overstuffed sub joint they have never skimmed on th fillings since way back when and still make the orde et rs same a in the 70's many of the dock workers from the marine terminal eat there as well as most of the locals ...its opened at 1030 am so you can do early lunch they do a great job at getting you out in a hurry as the cook preps early and usally has a great amount of items on grill constantly for the lunch crowds the place is in the strip mall tye sweet tea and everything on menu are well worth it ...its been a Baltimore landmark hopefully it will be one of yours now thees another captain harveys lsted in dundalk but its not the same as the origina lo House of the kille cheese steak ask around as most folks will tel you captain harveys is know for there cheese steaks either BBC hicken cheese steak or beef .....I highly recomend it ....hit me up with your rejarks id love to hear from you and will my ell you other great spots a well in Baltimore area ....hit me up @ crabcakerex21040@gmail.c… . take care enjoy....Rex

I remember driving up to Philadelphia years ago in the middle of the night with some friends, just to get some Philly cheese steaks from Pat's and Geno's. Back then, I thought they were the best cheese steaks I had ever had. That initial late night excursion would be repeated numerous times over the next 10 or so years even after I discovered other, better cheese steak establishments in Philly. The cheese steaks may not have been the best, but Pat's and Geno's offered something that the other places did not: the ability to consume massive amounts of calories and fat at 3 in the morning. Nothing hits the spot like a greasy, gooey, cheese steak especially late at night. There are few places in Baltimore that offer this kind of unique dining experience. Captain Harvey's is the preeminent late night snack attack destination. At any other time of day, the subs are good... but somehow they go from good to great as soon as the clock hits midnight. Must be some kind of reverse Cinderella thing. What is normally far too much for the average human to even consider consuming becomes the object of every man's gluttonous, late night fantasy. To say that these subs are huge would be an understatement almost as big as the subs themselves. This place is at the top of my late night eating preferences. At night, this place is easily 4 stars. But during the day, when I'm in a more rational state of mind, this place is probably closer to 3.

The place advertizes "great breakfast platers" but they dont open till 10am? Lol great. The ruben sandwich i had was amazingly good the cook took his time to ensure the bread was just well toasted and the corned beef was well made and when the meal came together it was a looker. The only thing i didnt like was that the counter lady was rushing me to order yet i was the only customer in the place. In my opinion the food is so far good but the service is a 3 out of 10.

I am surprised that Captain Harvey's only has a couple reviews. If you live in Dundalk, then you know Captain Harvey's. I only come to Dundalk on occassion for work related reasons and usually try to get Captain Harvey's when I do. The cheesesteaks are the biggest cheesesteaks I have ever seen in my life. A half cheesesteak could serve two people or possibly two meals. And that comes from someone who will usually eat a whole cheesesteaks at most establishments. At Captain Harvey's that's not happening. Overall the cheeseteaks are good, but they do lack some flavor in them. So, if you're going to order one, you might want to season it before you eat it. And have a fork and plenty of napkins with you as well.

I know it is crazy, especially to the people around here, but too much meat. If it had flavor, maybe, but it was a nasty cheesesteak. Very dumpy place, but its a sub shop, so no biggie. Staff seemed nice, not too concerned about service, more like a machine, but not too bad.

Definitely worth the toll over the bridge to get there. The sub had good taste, and the atmosphere wasn't bad. Its what i would expect from any sub shop. Will definitely go back again.

Who is writing these reviews? The owners??? Captain Harveys is living off it's reputation of years gone by. The current version of CH is disgraceful. They are obviously "quantity over quality" They serve up the lowest quality meat imaginable...but hey, you get 3X an average sub so all the fatties are happy. The fountain sodas are always ALWAYS flat and half out of order. The fries are cooked, then re-dipped in the grease when you order them, making a soggy mess. Why do I go back? Because I remember how good they used to be in Logan...lines out the door every night. That image is still burned in my brain, and every time I go, I'm just more disappointed. I think I'm giving up on the Captain...he's sinking fast.
