I have used and recommended these people for my friends and family members weddings, events and even used them for office parties. You go to some places and they are very scatter-brained and not really in the communication loop and run late but, this little company is the opposite they are very well organized, communicate through the whole process and are reliable and on time..they even provide silver ware, plates, tablecloths, napkins and other items to make your life easier (when you are the party planner/ hostess)- they also ask if you need waiters/waitstaff for your event. Some of the items we have used at our events are the baked Brie, the swedish meatballs (which the guys couldn't get enough of), crab dip, chesapeake tempura (really delicious rockfish bites, yum!), pulled bbq pork (they provide buns), Italian Sausage & peppers, Stuffed Porchini mushrooms, Lasagna, Mariner & Greek Salad, Beef & Boursin and their pies. We have even had them come and do a brunch w/ breakfast foods for the company. They brought plenty with them and were on time to pick up their equipment- they were absolutely wonderful and their prices are reasonable when you are in need of a caterer for a very large group of people. During holidays and month of June plan in advance and they will take care of you as if you were their own family.

My experience with seafood places on the Bay has been spotty - the Crab Claw in St. Michael's has declined, Buddy's in Annapolis was never that good - so I was so very pleasantly surprised with our experience at Skipper's. We were initially a bit concerned that they close at 9pm (we often eat late), and that the overflow parking was crammed. But we were lucky and found a spot up front, walked in, and had no wait! On a Saturday night! Thanks be to the crab Gods! We sat outside, which was amazing, and knew right away we wanted steamed crabs. They had a dozen large for $75, which was great, though after eating three each we knew we had ordered too many. I would recommend a half dozen if you're ordering other things (corn, fries, etc.), or a dozen smalls or mediums. Fortunately, we took our extra home and made awesome crab omelets the next day. The beverage prices are on-point - I think my Boh was $3 or $4, which was awesome, and our server was attentive without being overbearing. We were even treated to a fireworks display across the creek! Skipper's is definitely the place to go for a good old Maryland crab feast!
A true gem on the bay. Eat here often and always love the food and service!! Great place to pull up in a boat or dinghy and grab a night on a weekend. Chef Jessica has done great things with an an inventive and well executed menu. Specialty drinks and desserts are especially good. Fish tacos and tuna ciabatta are perennial favorites. Order the latter rare. Don't miss this place!!
I've heard numerous good things about this place. My wife and I went last Friday and the view was gorgeous, and the service friendly, swift and professional. Unfortunately, the appetizers and entrees were on the not so great side. biscuits were raw and doughy - sent them back and we got new raw, doughy biscuits. (the hush puppies were just right). I had an order of fish and chips - flavorless and soggy. Thankfully small portions. Not small enough to stop food poisoning to kick in later that evening. Dessert of peanut butter pie and double chocolate smith island cake were wonderful. I'd happily go back for drinks and/or dessert, and to watch the sun go down over the water. No way I'd care to go back for anything else.

I came here for Father's Day, which I understand can get busy but my experience at Happy Harbor was ridiculous. The hostess told us it may take 30 minutes to get our food which we accepted. We ordered our meal and an appetizer. Everyone in my party really wanted to get a burger they had but the waitress informed us they ran out of two ingredients for the burger go clearly we didn't order it. 45 minutes later we still hadn't gotten our appetizer. After an hour the waitress came out with a dinky amount of crab dip and one loaf of bread for 6 people. They also only had four plates for us. IWe asked the waitress if our food would be out in the next 30 minutes after we had just waited an hour just for our appetizer. She said "maybe" quite unconvincingly, indicating it would probably take another hour just to get our meals, meaning we would be spending a total of almost three hours just to get a simple meal. In fact, after an hour and 15 minutes the kitchen hadn't even started preparing our food. While the crab dip was quite amazing, I wasn't about to spend any more of my day there and so we canceled our orders and left. They didn't give us any discount or anything free even though we waited forever. To be honest, the establishment should reconsider calling their restaurant "unhappy harbor".
Brunch this morning. I had the veggie omelet and grits. Very good. My cousin had ham and cheese omelet. Also said it was good. My aunt had eggs, bacon and toast. She was also pleased. The coffee was great as well. Sitting on the outside deck over the water made the meal even better. I hadn't been there in years! Nice morning.
Good place. Basic pub food. The ingredients are definitely first rate - four stars. My burger came out well underdone (I ordered medium rare) which was handily dealt with by the owner who was on-site. It took a while and frankly staff could have been more attentive. Still, Happy Harbor is what it purports to be - a locally focused bar and restaurant that serves good food based on good ingredients. Current ownership is about a year along. I saw absolutely no sign of the cleanliness issues posted earlier. We'll definitely be back and will try the evening service to see how that goes. I'm hovering on four stars. I think Happy Harbor has the potential under new ownership to become the Deale version of Davis Pub in Annapolis. That would be wonderful.
