This food is as good as it gets for Damascus. Food I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and Spring Rolls via phone, carryout. . Shrimp Lo Mein - The shrimp they normally make it with are the size of salad shrimp. I've had some place make it with medium-sized shrimp. I requested they use larger shrimp, and they charged me a dollar per each large shrimp. They do not add many veggies. The overall flavor was great (not extremely salty or oily)- normal prices are reasonable, and it's good they accommodate order requests - it's just more expensive that way :-/ Spring Rolls seemed pre made - nothing authentic. Because I ordered carry out I would have expected them to include forks, sauces, fortune cookies in the bad. They had a little stand that was inconveniently placed, and only pointed it out when asked. The lady that took my order of the phone was a bit abrasive, English is not her first language, and do not expect great customer service. IF you want good food - this is the place to go...but do not have high expectations for customer service. I'd also recommend printing out a coupon before going.

My favorite of the cheaper Chinese food places in the area. The staff is very nice and the food never disappoints! The best part is that it never seems to be busy, but that could go for all places in Damascus.

Quintessential neighborhood delivery/take out Chinese restaurant. My family has tried all of the Chinese restaurants in Damascus (yes, all three!) and beyond, and this quickly became our go to. It's a fairly small dining room in a strip mall, but the food is consistently the best Chinese around. Good quality meats and produce, flavorful sauces, fair prices and generous portions (they pile plates and stuff containers full). Note that the delivery range is only three miles and the order must be $15 or more to qualify for delivery.

There's a first time for everything... We tried this place years ago, but didn't like it. We found the food unpleasant. The current Yelp rating led us to try it again. So the food was decent. We got Egg Rolls, Wonton Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, steamed dumplings. crispy beef and hot and spicy chicken. The flavors were fine, but no one in the family was wowed. That was still a major improvement over last time. However, there were a few real downsides, some more major than others. The dumplings had a nice flavor, but the wrappers are very thick. We asked for the hot and spicy chicken and the hot and sour soup both to be very spicy. Although they had a nice flavor, they were not really spicy at all. So, here's where it gets fun. When the order arrived, we were missing the two egg rolls. When I called to let them know, they said "It's very busy, can we just owe you for next time?" I was caught off guard by this one. I said sure. Unfortunately, when I told the kids we didn't receive the egg rolls, there was a mutiny. In their defense, it is really their staple Chinese food. They'll try everything else, but they eat the egg rolls. When I called back to ask if they would send the two egg rolls after all, I was told: "We are really busy it will take a very long time." I insisted, and thankfully they acquiesced. We figured at least the kids would get them tomorrow for lunch. And we wouldn't feel obligated to order again because they "owe us two egg rolls." The real bummer was that no one in the store seemed at all apologetic that we didn't get everything for which we paid. Ultimately, a driver did bring the food and it took less than an hour, and HE did say sorry. Xie Xie Driver!

Much better food than when this restaurant used to be Damascus Buffet. Best Chinese food in Damascus. We usually order chicken or beef with broccoli, shrimp with green beans (request spicy), combo lo mein, and sometimes appetizers. I would not drive out of my way to eat here, but if you are in the area - this is your best choice for Asian food. Sit down seating is available.

Growing up in Damascus, I have been going to the same Chinese place all my life. I began to hear good things about Sky Kitchen, so I figured I'd give it a shot, change things up. Now, I am having trouble understanding the positive reviews this place has received. I called ahead to order, the lady who answered the phone was very short, and unfriendly. She didn't ask my name or tell me how long until it my food would be ready, just quickly hung up. I ordered the lunch special with sesame chicken and their menu online stated it came with pork fried rice. I go to pick up about 15 minutes later, no "hi, how are you" not even a friendly smile. She handed me my food not even in a plastic bag to go. So, I paid and she pointed to the table next to the register and told me if I need any forks or sauce, or fortune cookies that they were over there. Really? You can't take two seconds to put my food in an actual bag, with a fork and some sauce? And I had to ask for a bag? As far as the food...not so good. Nice size portion, but food..not great. The rice had a weird smell to it, and it was plain fried rice, when the menu clearly says that the lunch specials come with pork fried rice. The sesame chicken was OK. I have had way better. Note: the lunch special does not come with a spring roll. This place is pretty pricey for a "lunch special". I wish I had never gone there to begin with and stuck to the Chinese place I've gone to forever-Little Far East-the BEST Chinese in Damascus. Period. They ARE friendly and the food is great and well priced. I wouldn't recommend Sky Kitchen to anyone and really wish I could get my $7 back.

My wife and I ordered carryout from here for the first time tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was ready when we arrived and each meal tasted great. I'd have to say this place is better than all the other local Chinese restaurants we've been to. The only gripe would be we didn't get any sauces or eating utensils. If there was a station for those things to grab, I did not see it. Also, we did not receive any fortune cookies. :( Other than that, I would highly recommend it. (Please provide fortune cookies in the future, thank you) :)

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! WILL NEVER GO BACK. I came here with a friend to take a study break. As soon as I entered the establishment I was "greeted" with rude stares and whispers from the staff ( I was dressed normally by the way) I chose to ignore that and proceeded to find my wallet in my purse. A member of the staff stared me down with his arms crossed as he walked behind me trying to peer in to my purse. I don't know what he thought I was going to pull out of it : Maybe a health inspection warrant, or an AK-47, but I was deeply offended. I decided to eat there thinking that maybe I was overreacting ,or misreading his intentions, but I was wrong. I ordered my food while he continued to give me and my friend cold, curt, and indifferent customer service. The nail in the coffin was when we were close to finishing our meal and he waved us off, saying we had to leave. He claimed they were closing although the posted closing time was an hour later. He once again stood about three feet away from us as we rushed to finish eating our food ,and leave since we were apparently "holding them up". He got closer and closer to the table as we finished, we barely got up from the table before he began clearing our plates. I can't help but think this had something to do with our appearance because we didn't enter the place in a disrespectful manner. We're both in our twenties and African- American, I do believe his actions stemmed from prejudice. No matter what the reason there is no excuse for horrible customer service, every customer deserves the same amount of respect. The food itself was okay it tasted reheated and was at best mediocre. The bathroom was filthy. Save your money and your time and eat elsewhere.

As my wife and I are new to the area and trying out different Chinese restaurants, we ordered from Sky Kitchen based on the reviews and were very happy we did. The food was piping hot when delivered and was also very flavorful (not bland as we have found some in the area to be). Customer service was great and we will definitely be ordering from here again!

We've always been happy with our food when we order, which has always been for delivery. The sizing is large and the food is tasty. We normally get Sweet & Sour Chick, Sesame Chick and/or Orange Chicken. Along with some apps. I took one star away b/c every time I call, I have a hard time understanding the person who picks up the phone. She mumbles, speaks very quietly and doesn't communicate very well and I usually get hung up on b/c I don't realize she's finished talking to me. But other than that, GREAT place to order take out!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
