Lures Bar And Grille

The two main things I look at when reviewing a restaurant is how clean the place is and the service, because the taste of food is subjective. So, I would say that this place appears to be very clean, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I have been here about 3 or 4 times and each time, I can confidently say that I have been made to feel like it is a privilege for me to be served by this establishment. My husband digs on the beer selection at this place and drags me along for the ride. I have had a number of different dishes and I have enjoyed everything (a bit overpriced IMO...especially the beer), but I can't get over the customer service. I will say that a couple of times we were helped by a man behind the bar that I assume is the owner or manager and he has provided great service, but everyone else from the hostess to the servers to the other bartenders need a lesson in how to appear less annoyed with their jobs. If I had not experienced such poor behavior on each visit by one of these people, I would chalk it up to an "off" day, but every visit is unacceptable. These experiences were unfriendly and bordering on rude. I think this place does well because of it's location, food and beer selection, but I cannot be the only patron that has experienced the same lack of good customer service, can I?
Great beer selection, amazing food, no tourists, outdoor deck, private parking lot, good bar, decent service, ... what more do you want in a restaurant. I wouldn't come here looking to watch sports at the bar though. The bar is a nice little small bar with two small tvs, but not really much for watching sports. I have had a number of food items here, and they were all amazing, just make sure they don't overcook your meat. I have always had it cooked perfectly, but other people at my table have not always had their steaks cooked to order. They have an excellent beer selection including a number of great microbrews, though they are a slight bit more expensive than in my opinion they should be. Off the brunch menu I recommend the steak and eggs: get the steak medium rare and the eggs over easy. Off the appetizer menu grab the crab meat, shrimp, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream on top of chips. It will blow you away. Easily one of my top 5 appetizers of all time, though I would ask for some extra old bay on the side. I tend to drink a lot of water, so some times you have to flag down the waiter to keep your water glass full. One item of caution is that they don't split checks, but most waiters/waitresses will bill it to multiple credit cards.
I really want to love this place. I've always found the service to be good and the restaurant to be clean and inviting. I really like the new renovated space up front. They could really use more parking though. The beer selection is great for this area. Get there for the happy hour special or prepare to really empty your pockets. My main gripe is the food. They attempt to do a lot and I appreciate that they try to make everything from scratch but my guests and I have often found the spices and flavors *very* heavy - especially anything blackened (steak tacos, roast beef sandwich, southwest mac and cheese, rockfish panini). On the other side, many of the flavors are very bland (fish tacos, sesame seared salmon, crab cakes). The items to hit are the jalapeno corn crab chowder, sushi burger and Chesapeake chachos. Everything else will make you a little sad. They are so close to being good - they just need to dial it in.

HHH is exactly what you want in a neighborhood restaurant. Fun crowd, good drinks, lots of beers on tap, great pizza and burgers. Meatball sliders are the go to dish with a wedge salad for those needing some greens. And for sports fans,10 big screens. If you find yourself near Annapolis, I highly recommend you check it out.
I'll leave it at three stars until I can properly assess their food. On the other hand, we went to Herald Harbor Hideaway one night because we were feeling just too lazy to drive the 15 mins to Annapolis. We should've just followed our gut feeling. Walking in, the entire place smelled like old furniture with something sour/rancid in the background. The beers were cold and the prices were decent, but the service was verging on awful. There were literally only two people in the restaurant area and we were the only two at the bar. We didn't get a nod or any service for almost 10 mins. The bartender was too busy chatting it up. When I asked for a drink menu, all I received was an odd "this is not that type of bar" kind of stare and silence. Not the greatest of experiences. Maybe I'll follow my fellow Yelpers lead and order pizza next time. Hopefully they'll treat me better.
This is very hard to write as the pizza is NY and great. If you want to dump your kids this is the place. They have an area that has toys, books, etc. No one including parents care about the other people eating in the area. We arrive and the table was so sticky that the glasses stick to it. The waitress did an attempt to clean it and it never got better our plates stuck to the table. The hardest review I have ever done as good great and balance worse than any place unless your are in McDonalds.

I stopped in this morning to grab a quick coffee. I am a huge fan of Wawa Pumpkin Spice Latte (better than Starbuck in my opinion!) and I also grabbed a Sizzli multi grain muffin with ham, egg white and cheddar. It was ok, but I wouldn't get it again, even if it is only 240 calories. I will definitely be back for the Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Normally this Wawa is excellent-and I highly recommend this store!! The manager is wonderful and the people working here are great. Today, however, I got this: not cool!
If Faythe is working the sub shop, you're in luck. I usually get a vegetarian sub and she STUFFS that bad boy like it were my last meal.

I've been going here for over 10 years , through 2 ownership changes. Pizza is delicious as is the home-made lemonade. Service is usually pretty good though I've never gotten delivery as I don't live anywhere near there. This is the only place I know that have these jalapeno cheese balls. I've searched for over 10 years for another place and have not found any other place to this day. They also sell Maryland lottery tickets and scratch off tickets here. Definitely a good place to stop in for lunch as they move through their lunch rush efficiently. It's family owned & operated , you'll sometimes see a 5 year old & his younger brother running around. The food here is usually not greasy and the portions are big. Parking lot has plenty of space. If you go try a slice of pizza and the cheeseballs. I come from baltimore to eat here.
Rating this place as 3 stars was one of the easiest ratings I've ever given, as it really is completely average. I don't mean that in a bad way though; It is about what you'd expect, from looking at the outside of the place. To me, that means a quick place to grab a decent and quick lunch....nothing more, nothing less. I got a cheesesteak and mozzarella sticks, an order which really is pretty hard to screw up. And, while neither were anything special, they weren't bad either. They could have put on a little more steak, but they didn't seem cheap either, and it was certainly filling. It was also far less greasy than I am used to from carry out restaurants. I've found there to be two basic kinds of mozzarella sticks: those that seem breaded in bread crumbs, and those that seem somewhat beer battered (which I much prefer). S K serves the latter, which I was glad to see. There are a few seats inside, if you decide you want to eat there. The owners are friendly and the food comes out quickly. The menu is typical carry out fare - mostly subs and pizza.
Probably okay for pizza and perhaps cheesestakes but don't venture too far off that menu choice... also a better pick-up and go than dine-in experience. During a power outage in the area it was one of the few places open to eat and the quality of food was very poor. Boneless chicken tasted as if it were re-heated & fried in days old grease. Fries were of same poor quality. Questionable cleanliness of interior (tables not very clean) though perhaps that was a function of the timing.
