I've only tried fresh fish from Today's Catch twice. Both times, the service was good, and the fish was excellent. Nobody's going to fall in love at first sight with this small, pretty bare store. However, it's evident what their priority is, and that's providing customers with good fish. I'm no fish connoisseur (I'll usually buy canned tuna or smoked salmon), so each time at Today's Catch, I went with the random filet. Both times, the fish was delicious. Either I got really lucky with my choices, or they have a selection of good quality fish. The prices are higher than what I normally pay for seafood, usually canned or frozen, but I'll splurge once in a while for fresh, unadulterated fish.

When we discovered today's catch in Columbia, md, we were SO happy! We needed a good place to get quality seafood. Let me tell you, they have it. Only fantastic quality products. They provide great service and educate you about the different fish and even suggest cooking methods. My husband and I only buy our fish and scallops at this store. Just amazing quality, friendly service all the time. Recommend to anyone who loves high quality seafood.

Let Today's Catch make you believe again in scallops! My wife loves the sweet bivalves, but I have bought too many supermarket scallops that tasted flat. Nothing special about them except the exorbitant price. The Today's Catch Seafood Market in Columbia made me believe again. The clerk told me that they don't always have the bay and sea scallops, but when they do, they're "dry" scallops - which means that they're just scallop. Never been treated. Never been injected with saline solution or however else the wholesalers extend their profits. Today's Catch's scallops were beautiful, a half-pound of sweet, firm flesh sauteed in nothing but butter and the juice of a lime. Today's Catch has a minimal feel. Fish on ice, fillets in coolers. There is a small freezer and a display of spices, but mostly, it is a few clerks, a few fish and you. The smell is right, more sea water than fish. The selection runs from mild tilapia and cod to sushi-grade tuna and strong-flavored mackerel.

Freshest seafood I've ever had. The workers are, without exception, extremely well trained, fast and polite. And did I mention fast. If you've ever paid premium prices for fish in places like Whole Foods, the service here is a million times better. The workers really know their fish, they know how to slice, de-bone and fillet each one, and they are a pleasure to watch. The owners are hands-on, and very involved. It's not a chatty sort of place, but the air of professionalism is a pleasure to behold, and you simply won't taste better fish. It's pricey, but worth it. I recommend their crab cakes too.

Tucked away in Wilde Lake Village Center, Today's Catch is the seafood treasure trove of Columbia. The selection is top-notch, the service is polite and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. They're closed on Mondays but open every other day of the week.

I specifically asked them if they carried any *sashimi* grade sushi and they said yes. I arrived to the store ( they are actually pretty small) I ordered 2lbs of sashimi grade salmon(19.99/lb) and few other salmons steaks. When they gave me *sashmi* graded sushi, they sliced it with the knife and board they've been cutting other fishes with... and part of the salmon filet was touching their *other fish products*.. ehhhh.. not so sashimi grade when they are already contaminated with their knives and in the fish tank... Overall fish was ok not the freshest salmon i had and they were bit pricey. I would give them 3 star but would not return.

Today's Catch is still there despite all the construction that has plagued the stores of the Wilde Lake Village Center. But there is parking, and it is really starting to look nice. We dropped in today for oysters. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The oysters were fairly priced, and a $1 less per oyster than Wegman's. And they were delicious! The homemade cocktail sauce was loaded with horseradish and wonderful.

Fresh fresh fresh. What else could you ask for? A hidden gem of columbia. Prices can get up there, but the quality is always consistently high. Sometimes when you buy seafood you get what you pay for.

I have purchased: Rockfish fillets (made them in a lemon saffron sauce) Doz. oysters (eaten raw, they were incredible) scallops, jumbo shrimp (Cajun style, pan seared, VERY good and fresh) Norwegian Salmon, Red snapper fillets, Tuna all eaten sashimi style. BEST fresh fish I have had in a very long time. Highly recommended, everything has been great. Sure it is a little on the expensive side but the quality is superb!

This is the freshest, best seafood I've ever had. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. The fish at Whole Foods doesn't come close.

Quite hard to find this place. And when you do, its not very appealing. Place is pretty small and looks kinda run down. But its not about the ambiance or setting. Its about the fish! Walked in and even though the place is small, they have a huge selection of fish you can buy. Many of the fish here are high quality or in other words sashimi grade. Expect prices to be a bit higher. Every time I got fish from here, whether its Monk fish or Salmon, they were amazing. Ate a piece of salmon and it almost melted in my mouth. Delish! Out of every place I got "fresh" fish from, this place cannot be beat!

Agreed that finding Today's Catch Seafood was a challenge, but once located I knew I would be back again. The fin fish (Halibut, Salmon, Cod, Tuna) cooked up deliciously whether baked or pan fried. A 4 - 6 oz portion makes a satisfying entree for a supper. The quality of the fish at Today's Catch is well above that of any fish I have gotten from supermarkets and although the price is higher it is well worth it.
