Came here after I saw the good reviews. First off, you will have to wait a while for your food- but thats fine, just call ahead, or enjoy the FREE REFILLS on handcrafted soda like black cherry or cream soda! I have never seen that anywhere before. My wife enjoyed the Cincinnati dog, and my coney island dog with cheese was pleasing, plenty of chili on it. Bucket of boardwalk fries with vinegar was the perfect complement to our meal. We will be back for more cream soda next time we're in town.

They have a variety of hotdog choices, and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. I went with the Polish dog, as far as hotdogs go, it was great. The only downside was that they don't use Heinz ketchup, but the fires were good enough that it wasn't needed. It's not fastfood, like the big chains, the hotdogs aren't ready and handed to you immediately. It's a mom-n-pop establishment, they prepare them as you order. Like Rocky C said, "it's not fine dining", but I think he/she exaggerated their waiting time. I've never been there on a weekend when it might be busy, but I've never waited more than 10 min for my order. They also have Boylan's naturally flavored sodas (NO high fructose corn syrup), and excellent (albeit thick) milkshakes. I'm sure they won't be able to please every person everytime, but I'm sure experiences like Rocky C's and Kathy W's will be few and far between. They are the 5-Guys of hotdogs!

Me and my wife stopped by today and we were glad we did. The hot dogs where great and the fries were amazing. We really didn't need to go to Thrashers to get great fries. We will definitely stop back on are way to the ocean.

They have the best hot dogs on the eastern shore and I love hot dogs.I would recommend this place to anyone it is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in.

The Philly dog sounded great. Problem was onions were not cooked long enough and there was a fraction of the cheese sauce needed. The boardwalk fries were limp and undercooked. Really a shame the place has potential.

Skip Dairy Queen - Come here! Update on previous review! They now have more sandwiches on offer - but the hotdogs are great! French fries also are like boardwalk fries. But the real draw is the "real" soft serve ice cream - once you have had it - you won't want to go anywhere else! Delicious! Great spot to stop on the way to and from the beach or a destination in itself it you are local.

Wow! This place is awesome! Coming home from the beach needing lunch and reading another drive thru mcdonald's. we had the dog with us so we needed some place where we could eat outside. not only did they have outside seating area but they had a place specifically for the dog complete with a doggie waste station. it was one of the best hot dogs I've ever had and fries were to die for! it was a sign in the restroom it said that they give 10 percent of all proceeds on tuesday night to the dorchester humane society. Well worth a stop at this cool place!

This is the BEST place to get a hotdog I ate it in like 1 minute! It was SOOOOO good! You have to go to it! They have a lot of different hot dogs that looked so good. But I just got a normal hot dog but who cares? It was the BEST hot dog EVER!!!!

I try to stop by on the way home from the beach. best hot dogs around. They take a little longer but that is because they cook to order. You arent getting a hot dog that was cooked three hours ago and kept warm in a pot or microwaved. they even have a great selection of unusual soft drinks. make a point to stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Saw the signs for a great hot dog on the way home from the beach and thought we'd give it a try. We both had the 100% all beef dog. Delicious. They'll fix it anyway you like it. More toppings than you can even fit to choose from. We also had one of their homemade soft pretzels. Perfectly cooked, chewy deliciousness. Lastly we had a tub of fries that we would never finish, not because they weren't good, just too many for the two of us. Also liked the Boylan's soft drinks they served and the atmosphere.

My sister and I just stopped there on our way home from Chincoteague. The foot long hot dogs were delicious; the fries were tasty but a little soggy. Will definitely go back to try some other items on the menu.

Hot dogs done right! Ordered one of my favorites the Chicago Dog, it was authentic and tasty, fries were good, soda was good (although I'm not a fan of styrofoam cups). The place has very cool semi industrial look, loved the stained concrete floor. And it was all clean and neat:-)

Every inch of this place is thoughtfully decorated and environmentally responsible: bathrooms, outdoor garden, wall decorations, etc. good food! Lol read the sign above the hand dryer in the restrooms.

The recommended "black angus" dog was not good at all and in fact it was probably nothing more than a Ball Park Frank. Bland and tasteless and the onions I asked for were meager. The so-called "beach fries" were cold and soggy. We won't be back.

Stopped in this really neat nostalgic place Monday on the way to Salisbury. Almost passed it up because the sign from the highway going east only showed the words "Ice Cream". Tried the half Smoked Sausage dog & it had incredible flavor & taste. Heading west the next day stopped again & got the Coney Island dog w/chili & onions. OMG it was really good. The folks were very friendly & took the time to explain the menu, various fountain & bottled drinks. Like I said the only negative is that when headed East, somewhere on the sign should read Hot Dogs.

Can't give the one but I really don't like a place that won't let my kids use the bathroom if we aren't shopping there. It's 2015 in USA. Public restrooms are American tradition.

WHAT?? A hotdog place where they serve veggie dogs, with all the fixings topped off with fries and black cherry soda??? OMG I'm in heaven! Diet, I'll see you tomorrow. For the non veggies , their foot long hot dog is a must. With fries of coarse. Don't let this place go without at least a try. You'll be back.

Nice little local spot on the way home from the beach. Pleasantly surprised by their cute little outdoor seating area. Very dog-friendly, which is always a plus. Water bowl and tap outside. Also, free homemade dog treats when they see your dog! Beautiful flowers and butterfly garden to sit by while eating. Just wish they had more to offer-possibly grilled cheese or a salad? I had the turkey dog and fries. If you like crispy fries, these are not for you. Great place to stop for a quick bite with your dog in the spring and fall!

I always pass this on Route 50 and finally stopped! Veggie hot dog with all the fixins!?! So good, and a special treat for a vegetarian, veggie burgers are everywhere but not veg dogs! I am a sucker for soft pretzels and this one was AMAZING!! It was served warm and so buttery and I had a cheese dip with it! Their soda wall blew my mind, if you are a weird soda fan you need to go and make your own 6 pack of unusual flavors. Next time I'm getting a milkshake, another of my food obsessions I just couldn't try them all at once! Haha

So friendly! Mom and I had the Angus dog with sauerkraut and mustard, a delicious hot pretzel and tasty french fries. Mom had yummy came sugar soda and I had all natural sparkling juice..... yummy! The hot dog buns were delicious and so was the dog; juicy and flavorful. Definitely recommend.

3.5 stars. Great old-school kind of boardwalk-style hot dog / ice cream / fries kind of place to stop at on the way to/from DC/the Eastern Shore, owned and run by the former chef of Luna Park Grill in Arlington. It's 2 hours from DC, or 1 hour from the shore, in a small town. They have many different types of hot dogs, but moreso in the types of franks themselves rather than the actual combinations. There is a daily combo special and you can tailor any hot dog with toppings and such - just the way you want it. They also have ketchup, mustard, apple cider vinegar, and their own blend of Old Bay-like crab seasoning on hand. My sidekick got the footlong hot dog special, just with raw onions, ketchup, mustard. After a weekend of seafood, he said it really hit the spot. I got the Angus cheesesteak, which came with a spreadable Cheez Whiz-like cheese, sauteed onions, and I agreed to it dressed with lettuce and tomato. While it was a good hot dog, I wish I could have tasted the cheese more so that it seemed more like a cheesesteak. It really just tasted like a good hot dog with sauteed sweet onions and lettuce/tomato. We had both with their Boardwalk-style fries, which come flavored with their crab seasoning and the apple cider vinegar. They were perfectly savory and slightly tangy, so we didn't need the "Chesapeake aioli" that I paid extra for on the side. However, I would have liked them a bit more crisp and less soggy. Still, worth the splurge (of eating fries). All of their soft drinks are Boylans' sodas, which can be made into floats. I had a diet Boylans cola float. Their ice cream is real soft-serve ice cream, and it was a nice treat as well. We took a couple of the fresh-made pretzels home with us; they're best heated up in a toaster oven at home to achieve a little more firmness and browning, sprinkled with sea salt. I believe they'll do this for you if you prefer to eat them in the restaurant. Plenty of stool and table seating in the spacious inside, clean bathrooms, and umbrella-covered tables on the patio. Though not perfect, there's something small town and nostalgic about it, and it's definitely worth the stop. Next time I'd like to try the seafood ones - especially the crab cake in link form.

I like "kid" food, and had always wondered about this place whenever we drove by it. Since I also still can't get these vendor hotdogs from the Washington Zoo out of my mind, I finally decided to stop and pay them a visit on my way home from a visit to Salisbury. I ordered a hot dog, fries, and a root beer. Also tasted their pretzel. None were perfect (I prefer both Thrashers and Five Guys fries, and I preferred the fancy zoo dogs too), but all were perfectly pleasent, and I love the look and concept of the place. Will go back every now and then, as the prices were good too.

This is an awesome place to eat. The hot dogs, soft pretzels, french fries and cream sodas are exceptional. This is not a fast food place because all of the food is cooked to order. The last time we went I had a corn dog which was not greasy at all. I'm pretty sure it was the only corn dog I've ever had that didn't end in disgust. My husband had the Great Dane Dog and it was simply scrumptious. We of course also had the fries. No matter what diet you are on do not go here and not order the fries.

Ideal road food including spicy crab cake in hot dog roll and classic foot long. Will return to eat other side of menu!

Staff was terrible and very unfriendly. Hot dogs were fine. Don't get the aioli dipping sauce for the fries very salty.

Passed by a dozen times while driving on vacation, but this time was so hungry I had to get something. Well, the food here is very good, no what I had was great! I had a daily special combo of Angus Beef Dog which I asked for lettuce, tomato, grilled onions & deli mustard put on it. It was superb. The Beachin' Fries were awesome, and I assume made right on premises. It was such a tasty experience. They also sell alot of bottled, rare Sodas. I chose one called "Moxie", which I had heard of for years but never come across. I also got a homemade ginormous chocolate chip cookie to take with me. Haven't eaten it yet, or drank my Moxie Soda (not cold enough for me yet), but I am sure they are splendid. I probably won't be passing this place much anymore since finding out the food is so wonderful and satisfying.

From 13 North we were driving west on 50 and this was the first local spot we saw we stopped for lunch and it was well worth it.

First of all I had to ask if my hot dog of choice was grilled, since some descriptions had "grilled" and some didn't. I was told that all hot dogs are grilled. I love grilled hot dogs, but THESE were NOT the grilled hot dogs that I can produce from my George Foreman Grill even. These weren't even hot on the inside! Why not split them and put them on the "grill' with a press to make sure they're cooked through and to get a char on them? We each got one hot dog each, then a half smoke to share. What a complete waste of money - the half smoke had absolutely no spice - it was just a big fat, uncooked hot dog. Our order was brought to our table and I had to ask which was which because there was ketchup on one, which no one had ordered. Turns out the half smoke had ketchup on it instead of mustard. The server (and cook) offered to take it back. I declined, saying it was ok. He asked again, Again I declined, saying we sometimes eat ketchup, no big deal. He insisted on taking it back and "rinsing" the half smoke of the ketchup! Rinsing my half smoke!?? What? I should have known right there, that this meal was not going to be tasty. No respect for the half smoke, man! I found the fries weird. They were oddly dark and slick. The taste reflected the way they looked. Five Guys fries, they ain't! The pretzels were so pale, they were a complete turn off - I didn't even try one. A couple came in, asking the counter girl if this was the hot dog place written up in the paper. I wanted to tell them to turn around and run, but I silently wished them luck and accepted my free re-fill of cream soda for the road.

This place is really neat! The hot dogs are good, as are the fries. You won't find Big Brand HFCS sodas here- just Boylands on tap ( that's a good thing!). Also sells a great assortment of novelty bottled sodas and local crab soup/ salsa/ etc. And the food is reasonably priced- $3-4 for a dog, $7.50 for a combo w fries and drink. There are a fair number of seats inside but they're either bar height or kiddy height picnic tables. Great big, clean restrooms. A/C was not set very low so keep in mind if you are coming in on a hot day.
