Evidently the Largo location near my Maryland home isn't available for review so I thought I'd comment on the closest one. Five Guys is by far the best hamburger I've ever had and I've had many. Although it's a chain they are pretty consistent throughout and I understand they will be opening one in the West Village NYC.

Why go to McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's when you need to have your burger fix? It might take a few more minutes of waiting, but it is well worth it. I can honestly say that 5 Guys makes the best burger I have ever had. Sure, they cook their fries in greasy peanut oil and the entire meal is likely more calories than I should be eating for the day, but if you're going to blow your diet, at least do it right. Although I think McDonald's makes the best fries (when they're fresh out out of the oil), 5 Guys makes some great fries. They put a small cup in a brown paper bag and then fill the cup to overflowing. They are so generous with the amount they give you that I can often split one order of fries with my wife. The burgers are amazing. Made to order, the cost is the same no matter what toppings you ask them to put on. Fresh ingredients at least make me feel like I'm eating somewhat healthy. It's a good thing more and more 5 Guys are popping up, but if you ever make it out to the Bowie Town Center, be sure to satisfy your desire for one of the best burgers you'll ever have at a reasonable price.

I can not express in words just how good this place was!!! You get a lot of food and it is heavy but if you want to let it go one day - this is where you should go!

Great burgers, great prices!!! A cheeseburger is 2 patties, a little burger is 1 patty.....both are yummy!

Second to crabs (the seafood not the VD), burgers are something I consider myself a connoisseur. I love them, I eat them..hell, if they didn't go straight to my gut, I'd eat a whole lot of them. Five Guys have been my establishment for years since they were just a place I'd have to trek to Virginia for. The South had Steak'N'Shake, the North had White Castle, and the West has In'N'Out. When Five Guys started franchising a few years ago, it has declared the Mid-Atlantic to be worthy place for a great burger franchise outside of the fastfood realm. And when they opened one in Bowie, I felt like I had my prayers answered. The best thing about Five Guys and why they should represent us Mid-Atlanticos? There is no gimmick to their burgeriness. None of that mini-burger, mega-burger or animal-style crap. This is a simplistic platform for a fresh burger with the kind of toppings you want. Just bring cash, because they don't take plastic.

Dont waste your time with McDonalds or Wendy's...if you want a REAL burger go to Five Guys. The burgers are always cooked up fresh in front of your eyes an the fries are always hot.

The burgers taste like real burgers. The serving size is huge. The smaller one is big enough to satisfy an adult. The french fry serving is big too. And you can snack on peanuts in the shell while you wait for your burger. It's a no frills place, but they've got good burgers. We even tried the grilled cheese once and that was good too.

Chances are you've eaten at Five Guys so you know what to expect. Take it you're looking for something remarkable about this one. Only one incident here makes this remarkable and that was two years ago in 2012. (Served a tip of a food handler's plastic glove). They replaced the burger but didn't offer a refund (nor was it asked/demanded). Figure if the order is wrong you replace it; if the incident is egregious you refund the money--without prompting. But hey it's a fast food joint. What do you expect? Well not a piece of glove at least. I've eaten there once more when friends made it a rendezvous and without incident. But the memory of the glove and the not quite right resolution has soured me on this Five Guys.

I read negative things about Five Guys online. About how they make a mediocre product etc. I don't buy it. Stopped at the Bowie Town Center on our way to Delaware last weekend. My son and I went in and ate at Five Guys. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, with fried onions, fried mushrooms and jalapenos. It was excellent. I love the peppers that Five Guys use. They are surprisingly hot, and their color is really bright. I think the thing that made the burger so good was the cheese. The cheese just tastes good. Between the two of us, we split a regular order of french fries. They were crisp enough. They weren't soggy. They were also plentiful. Enough for two pretty good appetites. The young guy at the counter who took our order was pleasant and attentive. The rest room was clean enough that I don't have a whole lot to observe in that regard. That's a good thing.

Five guys offers excellent inexpensive burger, fries, and hot dog options ranging from their mini burger (which ins't too small) to their normal 1/4 burgers. All burgers are cooked well, and can be topped with any topping on their list. Vegetarian's can enjoy a veggie sandwich, which was slightly messy; however, is a nice alternative menu item. Fry portions are huge, and the regular can feed a whole family -- there is also a larger size too... in case a regular isn't enough; oh and, try them cajun style! Though there are no milkshakes you can enjoy this locations two 100+ options on their coke fountain machine. 3 stars, the wait can be a little long though each meal is made to order.

Best made to order burger I know. Lots of free add ons. A little greasy, but a good greasy. Free peanuts all you can eat. Great fries; huge serving. And they have good vinegar for the fries! Good service. A little outdoor seating on grassy area too. Near the parking lot.

My favorite burger. I was never a big burger fan until I was introduced to Five Guys. My ex is friends with the family and so we used to eat there for free at the Alexandra location. So wonderful. Awesome crispy french fries and a juicy burger. The chains are also good, only sometimes the fries are a little soggy but when they are on point they are the best. There are still peanuts for customers to eat, and I don't mind that they are not all over the floor...I eat them and throw the shells in the trash./

I love Five Guys! The food is always good! I usually get the grilled hot dog, which I thoroughly enjoy! The service is always good and the food is made to order. They give you plenty of those delicious fresh cut fries and even a small is enough to share. I love Five Guys!

Really love this place. Their call ahead ordering has gone to crap though, where they're routinely messing up the order. It would be great if there was another way to convey even simple orders and make sure it's correct and all there when you goto pick it up.

Five Guys is my go-to place for burgers. And this location is as good as any other that I've been to. They do a good bit of self-promoting inside the store itself, with newspaper and magazine articles framed on the walls with comments from critics highlighted about how good the food is, and how reasonable the prices are. I can't imagine anyone who sets foot in the store needing to be further cajoled into ordering. It is not hype on the walls; it is true that the food is great and you don't pay as much as they could get away with charging. If you order a hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger or bacon cheeseburger, what you are getting is 2 patties, so don't be thrown off. If you only want one patty, order the "little burger" or cheeseburger. I get my bacon burger with grilled onions, jalapeños, bbq sauce and hot sauce. And every time I've been there, or any location I've ever been to, I've gotten the exact same deliciously juicy burger. There is one telling detail that should convey their dedication to freshness: their jalapeños are fresh cut and not pickled from a jar. I have to tip my hats to their french fries. I have worked at places that served fresh-cut fries, I've made my own from scratch at home; I've blanched and blanched again. Their fries are always good, and always the perfect level of crispiness, even 15 minutes after you picked up your order. Be warned, the large fry is like $5. It is enormous, and probably not designed to be consumed by one person. That never stops me, but don't order it thinking its like fast food portions. You get like a 16oz cup full of them, and then just as many in the bag. I prefer them Cajun-Style - which is dusted with Old Bay, but they are just as good plain salted with malt vinegar and ketchup. Note also that if you call ahead to place an order, they will make your burger and whatever else, but wait until you arrive to make your fries. This is their effort at making sure your fries are fresh and hot when you leave with them. I would prefer they already be in the bag, but I appreciate what they're trying to do; especially since I have left other call-ahead places with fries that were soggy and gross by the time I got home. I am not a fan of the futuristic coke machines they have. I'll let the market bear that out, but since they have so many options available, it takes people way longer to decide what to get, and older people have trouble figuring out how to use them at all. Not to mention, each machine can only be used one at a time, where the old fountains could be used two at a time. This is the place to go when you want a burger and fries that were made with a little love, but no fruity dogma about grass-fed, organic, hormone-free, fair-trade, or free-range that you get from more pretentious scientifically-illiterate chains like Chipotle, Panera, or Gambrills' recent addition: Elevation Burger.

Now you already know Five Guys is my favorite burger joint in the world...and the best in the world at that. I ordered my usual (a cheeseburger with mayo) and it was soooo gooood. The staff was friendly and professional too, which is what I always look for. Long story short, this place rocks! Will be coming back again...duh!

YUM! First trip to a Five Guys, definitely won't be the last. I got a Hamburger, with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and BBQ sauce. My friend got got a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, and A-1. We also split a seriously large order of fries. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had out, my only reason for not giving it 5 stars was that the fries were a bit over-cooked and a little more BBQ sauce on the burger wouldn't have been a bad thing.

Busy burger joint ideally located in the Bowie Town Center. Plenty of parking in the many lots and great opportunities to multitask in terms of fulfilling your shopping endeavors. Pros: The food is consistently good. The burgers and hot dogs have a nice char-grilled taste. I'm a big fan of the hot dogs in particular, which are all beef and juicy on the inside. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and are well seasoned. They can be pretty addicting and come in a portion size that's big enough for sharing. The prices are relatively decent for the quality you receive. In fact, when you compare them to some of newer burger joints you realize that Five Guys is actually a bargain....which may or may not be saying much. Cons: This location can get packed at various points so it may take awhile for your food to be ready. Sadly, milkshakes are not offered here so you're left with just fountain beverages. The fries are small in size and sometimes come out a little unevenly done. Overall, Five Guys won't wow most people but it can definitely hit the spot without hitting your wallet.

The woman at the register (Megan) was wonderful. She made great and helpful recommendations, explained how the menu and restaurant worked, and even checked on us to see how everything was while we were eating. Great food and clean.

If you want a really good burger and fries, than look no further! I really love Five Guys burgers and fries. Sure, you'll leave with a bag of grease....literally, but if you're going to eat burgers and fries, why not go all out! I've had the little cheeseburger and the regular cheeseburger. The little cheeseburger is just a regular patty. Now call me greedy, but it's not enough for me. Don't judge me! I guess it would be for an underachiever, but I'm an overachieving meat and potatoes kind of chick....so fill'er up! LOL! The burger or cheeseburger comes on a bun (big surprise about that one) but you can add as many toppings as you would like at NO extra charge. They range from tomatoes, relish, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, bbq sauce, banana peppers and others. I noticed that if you get mayo or ketchup, it tends to make your bread soggy, so you may want to get it on the side. Especially if you're taking your food home. They also carry hot dogs, never had one, but I hear they're really good. The fries are made fresh daily and are delish. Two people can clearly share a regular order of fries. They fill your cup up and literally dump extra fries in your bag; hence the greasy bag you leave out with. Word to the wise, don't put your greasy Five Guys bag on your clothes or leather car seats. GREASE CITY! They have peanuts in the shell that you can nibble on why you wait or take some home. All food is prepared to order and I've never had to wait an extremely long time. It's a bit pricey, especially if you're going with a family of 4 or more. They even have a really cool Coca Cola soda fountain where you can mix and match different flavors; i.e. lime, lemon, vanilla...etc. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is always patient and helpful. Every now and then you have to get a little grease in your system. Although this place is addictive, I don't recommend going on a regular basis.

I'm late to the game when it comes to Five Guys since we don't have one San Francisco but as soon as I walked in it was so oddly reminiscent of In-N-Out. Pretty much same everything except for the free peanuts. The bigger difference is the portion size. For example when you order a regular fry it's 3/4 of a brown paper bag. I was like, "Who can eat that many fries?" Then I looked around and noticed I was the skinniest guy in the place. So yeah, a great place if you have a larger appetite or if you are a person of larger carriage.

Love this Five Guys in Bowie Town Center! Always clean, peanuts are always fresh (that's a biggie) and the servers are nice. The burgers are very good too with the fries, but this time I wanted an all-beef hotdog. Five Guys does a very good hotdog too, for real and you can get all those toppings on it too. They always play great music here, also, just right and not blasting.

nice and spacious. Cleanest one I have been to. It was pretty cold in there due to the weather, I hope. But dress warm if it is cold outside. Didn't feel like there was any heat in there.

As Five Guys grows in popularity and puts up more and more locations, the heart of what it once was is quickly being lost and it is becoming just your regular burger chain with ridiculous corporate policy. Funny, I remember the days as a kid in Springfield, when there were only 2 or 3 other locations and it was a really awesome VA burger place that was a hidden treasure. As you waited for your burgers, you ate peanuts and threw the shells on the ground. Service was really friendly, and they would accommodate any request within reason. Nowadays, there are no more peanuts everywhere. Which personally I think is dumb, unless it's specifically because employees don't want to clean it up. If it's for people with nut allergies, guess what, they still can't eat anything there. A large majority of my friends have nut allergies so when we want a burger and fries day, we can never come here because of other things Five Guys uses to cook with. So why not bring back the old vibe then? Oh well...this is minor. Fast forward to my very last visit, my boyfriend and I ordered our burgers and as always (and I have done this every time I have gone into a Five Guys for something like 15 years or more) we ordered our fries "extra crispy". Immediately we were told "corporate has cracked down on policy and fries were to be made the way fries were intended so extra crispy is not an option". You must be kidding me. Fries are "intended" to be eaten however I want to eat them for starters. Secondly, why would you alienate customers like this? The biggest complaint I have heard about Five Guys is their soggy fries, which I always told my friends, it's not a problem because just ask them to cook them a bit longer. I'm not understanding why on earth this would be a problem for them. Outside of major fast food chains like McDs & BK, the regular quick burger stops you can always ask for fries like this. So that's cool, I guess they don't want my business anymore. I am happy to go elsewhere. There are plenty of great burger joints around. This is no longer one of them.

Always a great burger, BUT this location can't seem to get the fries right. Not crispy and usually mealy inside. I thought I got a bad batch a couple years ago and they happily replaced them, but they were the same. Have tried it several times since- STILL LOUSY FRIES. Talked with one of the employees and his attitude was that everybody loved their fries and there was nothing wrong with them. Five Guys location a couple of miles away near NASA has great fries.

This is the first location of Five Guys I've ever tried. And I've been a convert ever since. Recently they opened one in Palm Desert and as a California native I was thrilled this east coast transplant arrived in the Desert. But the Five Guys at the BTC was my first. And you never forget your first. ;) I personally don't think you can do a burger better than they do it here. Considering you can customize it however you like, it's thick, juicy, tasty and fresh. And they put fresh jalapenos on it? Sold. It is not a small burger. The standard comes as a double burger, FYI. Unless you get the "little", which means one patty, and the one I always choose. By the way, it's HUGE, even with one patty. And they don't skimp on the fries, either. One order is plenty to share.

I finally decided to try a Five Guys burger this evening, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The burger was very good (even though the only cooking option is well-done), and the toppings were varied and flavorful. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, onions and jalapeños. I have to agree with comments about the soggy fries, but also have to acknowledge that fries are a very personal preference. I would note that the Cajun fries are too salty and the serving sizes are huge. Service was good, and I liked how the ordering system was set up. The free peanuts for snacking while waiting were a nice touch.

It use to me one of my favorite fast food joints. But I found better ones and all the sudden, they place seems mediocre. First of all, I don't like Boardwalk Fries. Who wants soggy fires. Then $2.39 for a small fry? When did that happen. No longer are the days they fill up the bag and now they charge over $2 for a truly small soggy cup of fries? Really. Then the hamburger. Not as tasty. Do yourself a favor and go to Fuddruckers instead. The meat is fresher and they have a fixing bar. I'm disappointed. What happened? Well, it's better than McDonalds; so I'll come back if I have to chose between them and McDonalds.

I have yet to stop by a Five Guys, in any state or location and not have a good meal. This location made a juicy delicious bacon burger with pickles and bbq sauce just like I like it. They weren't as generous on fries as they are in Richmond VA though. Normally they dump a enormous scoop in the bag.. This place literally gave me a small, the cup wasn't even full,.. It was a bit disappointing, but truthfully it helped my diet because normally I would eat way too many :)

I like five guys and this is no exception. I rated this 4 stars as there was something missing with the taste. It may be the time i visited. It was late. But food was tasty as always. I will visit again. By the way i had the cheese burger.
