Update: Priam (manager? Owner?) called me this evening in response to my post. He offered an apology & said that he's not sure why the quality was lacking. Fortunately he didn't try to blame me for the mushrooms being on the pizza (i.e. Are you sure you ordered "no mushrooms") & was generous enough to give me a discount on my next order. Hearing that he would be working tonight I decided to give it another shot (with a different order). Everything was fine except the temp of the food. I saw it being taken out of the thermal pizza bag but cannot say 100% that the bag had been closed. My bianco pizza & hubs meatloaf entree tasted fine but had to be nuked before enjoyed. There's a time & place for cold pizza & cold meatloaf - never a time for cold green beans & mashed potatoes. I appreciate the 2nd attempt but think it's going to be a while before we give them another shot... Unless it's just for dessert.

I cannot comment on their pizza because I placed a delivery order for a cheesesteak and wings. The food was delivered in a timely fashion, but the quality was subpar. The wings (original buffalo) had a slimey texture to them and were relatively flavorless, though they were the best part of the meal. The cheesesteak was pretty much inedible. I ordered "The Championship," which is supposed to come with mushrooms, onions, peppers, and provolone. The sandwich arrived with none of those condiments, only banana peppers (an excessive amount) and tomato. The meat proportion was about three steak-ums worth, and that's exactly what it tasted like, except totally unseasoned. I took two bites and threw the rest away. There are other delivery places in the area that have a much better quality of food.

Their pizza and burgers are cheap and delicious. Check this place out!

Good place to stop in for a slice of pizza late at night after a few beers. The pizza is generally good but nothing you should go out of your way for. The rest of the menu ranges from okay to 'eww' - in part I think this has to do with how they package items for carryout or delivery. Sealing piping hot fries (or other similar items) in a container wrapped in plastic wrap leads to some steamed gross food unless you live very close and can promptly unwrap it. Stick to the pizza and you'll get exactly what you should be expecting from this sort of place.

I like Viccino's when I'm in Mount Vernon and looking to get a couple of slices of pizza on the cheap. There's nothing particularly fancy or special, but it's the best pizza in a few blocks. It's quick and easy, a little greasy, and really easy on the wallet. Go pick up a couple slices and a drink and you're only out $5 or so.

Not super fancy, but they provide a solid tasty meal. I love the spiced penne.

I went here on a saturday night after the greek festival at around 11:30PM. My friends and I were hungry and we stopped by for some by the slice pizza to take back to my apartment. This pizza was the best pizza in the area for takeout/delivery pizza! I was surprised to see the low reviews and am reviewing because I want this pizza place to stay. This pizza is too good to go. The cheese and veggie pizza was my favorite, the mozzarella was high quality and the amount of veggies to cheese ratio was perfect. The pizza exceeded my expectations since it was late and the place was closing. The pizza was still tasty and fresh! The cashier was super friendly and only charged us a $1 one dollar a slice! Including the really good veggie pizza and the pepperoni pizza and she threw us 4 extra free slices! Essentially a whole pizza for 7 dollars, because they were near closing time. I am definitely ordering takeout from here again! I highly recommend this place for delivery, pre midnight/late night munchies, lunch, and by the slice. My mouth is watering just thinking about that veggie slice that I plan to eat for dinner tonight!

I cannot speak to anything but the pizza that was delivered today. it was sooo good! I had pepperoni slices that were so good I actually ate my crust lol. I'd recommend it based on my experience. I have to give 5 stars because I had no negative experience and the delivery man was friendly.

Love the 9" pizza lunch special for $7 including a (smallish) tip and 32oz drink! Quick, tasty, and convenient.

Been eating @ Turps and Viccino's for 2 ish years. Never have really had a great experience. Its normally a last choice. Today again it was my last choice, ordered chicken caesar wrap, sub par, as usual. Sweet potato fries were cold when I got them and over cooked. Fries were probably cold because they were too busy making "jalapeno poppers" from scratch with red bell peppers instead of jalapenos. They really did it this time with red bell pepper poppers. Probably wont go back.

Service here sucks. The cashiers are just bad, very poor customer service. I will stop coming here.

Food is good but they mess up my order to much and not just here XS and Jays deli. Rather I'm ordering for me or catering for my group i have to go through to much to get my food like their menu says it should be. I will be taking a very long break from all the restaurants

First time in here and I was pleasantly surprised. I had a pasta bowl and it was a good size for the price. They have awesome cheese pizza as well. Never thought to go in here until a friend got hungry lol

This is my go-to place for pizza in the city. A large with feta and an order of tater tots with tabasco (i'm guessing) ketchup makes for perfect carryout. Try to time arrival for when the food is done, as there's not much in the way of standing room inside. Pizza is good enough I haven't really strayed too far to try other things on the menu.

Good carryout. Pizza, calzone, etc. Beer and wine, too! Ask for extra sauce with the calzone. (Calzone ares good, much better if they sauteed the veges first)

This is my stand-by pizza place for carryout in the city. Fast, decently priced, and classically greasy New York style pizza. Viccino's has a menu a mile long but I can only testify to the pizza. Great night-in pizza!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
