This place can be sketchy at night time on occasion but I've never had a problem. They serve wonderful food! I absolutely have to order cream of crab soup every single time that I go. Yummmmm. This place is a gem. P.s. They have a small parking lot behind the place

I've never had a bad experience here. When I come it's usually for breakfast. They've got a good selection of things on the menu. The prices are comparable with other diners on the area. This is the only diner I know that uses cloth napkins...just my little observation.

Daiquiris are small, with whipped cream taking up a lot of volume in the glass. Cheesecake seemed to have been assembled upside down, with the graham cracker crust sandwiched between the cheesecake and the cherry topping. My gripe with this is that I didn't like the crumb's grainy texture mixed with the cherry topping, which is itself fairly smooth and I'm used to pairing with creamy cheesecake instead. Crab dip was just okay, more dip than crab. The main appeal of this place for us, I think, is the hours. They have wifi, but according to the waitress, it's not always reliable.

Went to lunch with my girlfriend. It was a typical diner menu with a hundred things to choose from. We both had sandwiches and they were both really good. We also had dessert, smith island cake, yum. She has been wanting Smith island cake for awhile now and it didn't disappoint. When im in the neighborhood again I will stop back.

OMG I have been here before but never for breakfast. Let's just say we entered this place about 10:30am this past Saturday. We were greeted by many of the staff members as we entered the restaurant. We were seated quickly. Water was placed on the table while we were looking over the menu. The only reason they lost one star from me was because the water had something in it. Not good but, we got past that. It wasn't a bug so that was good. On to the meal. I ordered the waffle sundae. And lets just say when it hit the table my eyes opened wider than I think they every have. Ice cream is my weakness. I didn't even need anything to drink other than water because the waffle did it for me. If I were not diabetic I would say I can not wait to return. This was a treat for me. I can't do it no time soon no matter how much I loved it. Well at least others will still have the option.

This place gets a bad rap but I will honestly say The last two times I've been I had exceptional service and great food. Once was a special occasion late on a Sunday. Most places are closed when we get off work and this was the perfect ate night after hours spot . A bottle of wine and yummy apps. And again great service Second time was NYE of all times. We were running are for our already made dinner reservations at Maggie's farm and didn't make it in time. We decided on Valentinos , we ate, drank and enjoyed our time We left by 11:15 but had exceptional service and food. Thanks Valentinos for always being there when we needed you. ...

I recently moved to this side of Baltimore, and Valentinos is just up the street. I am so glad I found this place! First of all, the staff is fantastic. So friendly! And then the food..OMG the food. So far, every thing I've ordered there has been fantastic. Tonight, I got a crab cake. GET A CRAB CAKE, Y'ALL. So crabby and wonderful. Also, the breadsticks with the marinara sauce they serve? So effin good. Love this place!

As someone who considers Italian food to be comfort food, this is a go to spot for Sunday dinner entrees like chicken parmigiana, lasagna and manicotti. The interior has been nicely renovated in recent years. Give a little extra time to find parking.

Friendly quick service. I like the fried chicken here. This pkace gets pretty crowded on the weekends but I think that it is worth the wait. They have a parking lot on the side of the restaurant which is extremely convenient.

Love this place. It's always open. Their drinks are good. Usually get the salmon with a side of alfredo pasta. That is my favorite thing to get although I've tried other dishes. Also a fav is the strawberry shortcake. Good prices for the size of dishes. I don't think I've ever had a problem with service here.

Excellent food, service and its 24hours! You Can't go wrong at Valentino's! Except the chicken pieces in the Caesar salad were too big..so it was a little on the dry side. Hence the four stars. But I've only had it once so I will give it another try.

Back to Valentino's...why? I know a person who works here and I was being nice in the new year. Anyways, may I suggest for amazing breakfast and price, Denny's near you: 1995 E Joppa Rd, Baltimore, MD 21234; for lunch/dinner - for amazing food and ambience, Carrabba's near you: 7600 Belair Rd, Baltimore, MD 21236 or for family fun size style, Bucca di Beppo near you: 8200 Perry Hall Blvd #1065, Baltimore, MD 21236. Take note - the total of your bill, the tips are added already. Do I need to say more about V?

Yankee Pot Roast: EXCEPTIONAL! it's on tonight's dinner special. Get thine self to Valentino's now and don't miss out! My husband enjoyed his Chicken a la King and what's nice about both meals is that the portions were plentiful enough to get a second meal out of them. I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow. As always, the service is very friendly and attentive, all the way from the one waiter opening the door and greeting us with a warm smile to the woman who kept our water glasses full to the really hunky manager who's boxing up our meals as I type this. I heartily recommend Valentino's for a reasonably-priced and delicious meal.

Came here because my friend had to have one of their steaks. When I walked in it reminded me of an upscale diner. I wasn't impressed with my food, but all I got was a cheeseburger and french fries. I was impressed with my friends steak though. It was cooked perfectly and so tender. I was also impressed with the mixed drinks (long islands) and these awesome parmesan breadsticks they serve. I would definitely come back and try to be more adventurous with my food choices.

Well, this was a pleasant surprise! Not only was the service impeccable and super friendly, the food was great! I definitely wouldn't consider this place a diner, as it's above that in quality. However, given their massive menu ranging from breakfast foods to subs to seafood and Italian specials, it fits into the category of excessive choices that diners typically provide. As I mentioned, their food range is wide. But what you usually find with too many options is too many flaws. This isn't the case, that's for sure! My S.O. and I decided to come here on a whim one night. He got the Belgian waffle with a decent portion of beautifully fresh strawberries and delicious whipped cream. The bacon was cooked to order and savory. It was honestly the best Belgian waffle I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Insanely fluffy with a crunchy outside. Perfect. I, however, was feeling the Penne Carbonara. The light cheese sauce was perfectly balanced with the juicy chunks of bacon and sauteed mushrooms. The parmesan and garlic bread sticks and marinara sauce (free after 11pm apparently) as well as the caesar salad beforehand (included) was a great start to this delicious meal as well. All in all, I think I have found a gem in my neighborhood. Great prices, great service, great flavours. It's definitely time and money well spent- in my opinion.

The food here is excellent. The customer service is great! and the location is pretty good. I came here a couple of months ago and everyone was so friendly. The drinks here are so good but my favorite meal has to be the salmon or the cream of crab soup. The way it is set up on the inside is very comfortable and cozy. The servers were great and the temp was just right. not too hot and not too cold. They also have tv's inside so you ca keep up with the sports games which is pretty cool. I really like this place.

I have been to Valentino's many times over the years only this time impressed to write a review. After a wonderful day at church my sister and I decided to go to my mom's favorite restaurant Valentino's to satisfy the tastes of our 5 member picky group of girlfriends. We were greeted and served promptly, and then a platter of delicious warm soft bread sticks were served up. Were they good or were we hungry? who knows but one of my friends who never asks for more asked for another platter which was promptly served up - warm hot goodness, well what's to not like about warm bread. After a full study of the menu, if they don't serve it, literally it must not be available on earth. Its a diner and they serve alot of food including breakfast. Well all the dishes were delish. I had a chicken pot pie and really - it was enough for 4 people to eat. I will be eating that dish for the next 2 days. But, let me tell you it -It was DELISH! All white mean chicken, it was thick with gravy and veggies. Crust was superb. Wonderful. The pickest member of the group ordered the spinach salad with salmon and she said it was good. She is famous for sending food back especially Salmon. My sister ordered Ceaser salsd with Steak and they brought her a HUGH bowl with a ton of steak, good stuff. The cream of crab soup was delicious and the only hiccup was when another friend ordered the Gyro she said the Tzatziki sauce was alittle bland it just needed alittle salt. Our server was a sweetheart and took great care of us. They do add the gratuity to the bill however it's 24 hour diner and they probably have been stiffed on tips more than once since any old cheapo can walk in off the street. Some people do not realize the tipping principle. We laughed and talked to our hearts delight and left very happy. Very nice experience. I will go back again for certain.

Ugh let me tell you about the disrespect here!! So I came with three friends, we were all hungry and my friend was celebrating here last few days in baltimore and we gave this place a shot( never was one to get caught in the hype about these place due to location) but we get our appetizers and everything was fine till the server says basically we had to pay the money for the entrees now before ordering or the good gets out so basically handing us the bill while we were eating the apps..we looked at him like he was crazy because 1. Terrible way to treat a guess 2. I want to see and enjoy my meal before I pay 3. We felt rushed...the crowd in there are and were ghetto..loud and belligerent. We asked for a manager and we explain to him what's the deal with paying before we get our meal, he says it's on the menu..we said show us please...NO EVIDENCE because he lied, now I can't say why I believe this came about is due to the fact there are 4 black young adults and due to the overload of "ghettoness" there we were put in same category as if we weren't going to pay. I felt very offended because I've been to many upscale places and to be treated like this in a shit hole shocked me. He didn't even want to give out the bread..I will never come to this place again, it's nasty, the manager is uneducated and it's just not the type of place you want to be in if you want quietness but we came around 1 but still if the prices are going to be moderately high and you have dequan and shaniqua along with her two hoodrat friends screaming in the restaurant..please I beg you change something, this is not the place at all!!!!!!!!!

I've eaten there three times now with other people--breakfast, lunch and dinner and have had a so-so experiences each time. Generally I found the food to be overly salty-maybe they are catering to the older crowds-dunno. They do have generous helpings though. I'm against any place that automatically charges a 15% gratuity fee, but maybe they get a lot of cheapskates and Harford Rd Ne'erdowells that don't leave tips. Point is, I will tip graciously (up to 25%) if I have a good server, no matter what the food tastes like, but don't want to be locked into 15% if the service is lacking. Is that fair? I think so.

Not a happy experience. Waiter brought 3 of 4 meals, and after 10 minutes I went looking for a manager. My father-in-law asked for catsup, which came only after I spoke to the manager. The side for my meal was never delivered. I ordered the garden vegetable pasta, which had few vegetables and the linguine was over cooked. The chicken teriyaki got a positive review. For service and the quality of our other 3 meals I can only give one star. The restaurant automatically includes a 15% gratuity on every check, which wasn't earned by this waiter.

I.m not much on writing a review for much of anything, but I had to let anyone who reads this to know that Valentino's is a hell of a GREAT caterer. I used them this Christmas and they went well above expectations. Not only was the food amped up, but the service they sent was wonderful and very polite. Pricing was very comparable for such great food and service. Will use again for my company and private parties. Thanks Val's!!!

This 24 hour restaurant has an enormous menu with every genre present, lots of seating, and busy carry-out business. I find the food ok, but lacking in quality ingredients and flavor. It's a good option for breakfast or a generally satisfying meal if you really don't want to cook. Don't expect fine dining though. The service is quick and attentive. Prices are a bit high for the medium quality food.

The menu is like a dictionary! Huge selection and always well prepared. It may not be the best tasting food in Baltimore but its fast, cheap, and the wait staff is great. Big dessert selection too.

I've only been here a few times but I always seem to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood. The fried chicken here is awesome, super crispy and juicy. The service is kind and attentive. My kids love the desserts and it's become a tradition even when we are stuffed to the gills to have one of their many sweets before we leave.

I'm giving one star because I cannot give zero. I went there this morning for a first date. The food was average but the server was nice. The issue came when we went back to the parking lot at the side of the building. Lo and behold his car had been towed. I move my car to a metered spot in front of the pharmacy up the street. The lady at the counter calls Frankford towing and confirms that the car was towed. They said "sorry you'll have to pick it up Monday". Now, he lives in Hyattsville and works in DC. I called Frankford and they said we can get it today. Our argument was nowhere does it say that you have a time limit on how long you can park in their lot which is clearly marked as parking for the restaurant. We ask to speak to a manager. Nick, who is apparently related to the owners, goes in the back and calls the police. They come in and he doesn't talk to them. I took the cop aside and start to explain the situation and two more cops show up. They call Frankford towing and they said that nick called them to tow my date's car and that is a civil matter and they won't release the car. A man in line goes outside to wait on his takeout order and find a tow truck hooking up his car. He shows them his receipt and they unhook his car. Then the manager shows up. She talks to nick in what I assume is Italian. She calls Frankford towing and hands the phone to the cops. She then walks away. The cops talked to each other and nick and then tell us that while they are sorry about the inconvenience, there is nothing they can do and the manager wants us to leave. If we don't leave then we are trespassing. I had to pay $250 dollars cash get the car back. I will be contacting BBB and DLLR to file complaints. Avoid this place like the plague.

My family and I have been patrons of Valentinos for over a decade, for the past two years - every Sunday for brunch. The wait staff has always been friendly and courteous. The food has always been consistent- not great but consistent. Today, was another matter entirely. My 86 year old grandfather always requests dark toast. Every Sunday, his food comes late because they always bring him blonde toast and it has to be returned. You would think that after two years with the same wait staff that it would be a given to toast his bread twice. Despite weak coffee and under cooked sausage, we continue to patronize because my grandaddy likes routine. Today, not only did he have to wait 15 mins after my breakfast was served to recieve his, when it was time to pay the bill, his $10 discount (rewards program) was not applied, even though he asked the waitress to note it. When he asked the assistant manager to apply his discount, she told him that it was too late and that he would have to use it next time. He then asks her what if there is no next time? Instead of performing service recovery measures. She proceeds to rudely dismiss him. I am following up directly with management, but find it unacceptable for that type of behavior with any patron, but especially a loyal and elderly patron. On average we have a 4 -8 person party at this restaurant on a weekly basis. You would think it would be smart business to treat us well and with respect. Next Sunday, we will be having breakfast at Broadway Diner on Eastern Ave. The food is way better and grandaddy can eat his meal when everyone else is eating theirs.

Valentino's is always reliable for a late night meal. I've never had a bad meal from there, and I've been there a few times slightly tipsy ready for a good late night snack. Valentino's never disappoints.

After reading some of the reviews, im confused. Maybe i got the wrong thing? Because i was not as impressed as most people on here. Then again a lot of them were last spring so who knows. Anyways, it was my first time there, my dad had been many years ago so we decided to try it. We were taken to our table as soon as we got in. The hot cocoa was very good and presented in a nice way. The breadsticks tasted funny like they were old, and i generally don't care for marinara sauce. Maybe if there was something else to dip it i would have ate more. I loved the caesar salad it was dressed very well. I did not enjoy the old ass croutons however. Very strong flavor and too buttery. I would go back again and get a caesar chicken salad, that good. I got the penne pasta with cream sauce and bacon, it wasn't the worst i've had, but it needs a lot of help. The noodles were too soft and it got very hard to get through so i ate all the bacon (cooked fresh, very yummy!) and mushrooms. The sauce was okay but i would love it it if it had more depth or something. My dad had the lasagna and i couldnt swallow it. the sauce was very strong and there was not enough cheese. Our waitress was very sweet and not overbearing. I would try again, but probably avoid the pastas.

The food is great and the service is exceptional. I don't review things often here, but the service was so good and everyone was so friendly that as a reward, I wanted everyone who reads this to know that these people are as wonderful as their food. Check this place out! Very clean and great atmosphere.

I have been to Valentino's 3x. I think it has pretty good food. The customer services is great. They make you feel very welcomed. I have had their crab dip and stuffed shells with the alfredo sauce. I liked them both a lot. There is no consistency to the bread sticks. One time they are warm and soft and the next time hard and cold. I don't drink often and I ordered a strawberry daquiri. The first 2 times it was great and the 3rd......well it was like drinking straight rum LOL I could tell the "waiter" doesn't normally wait tables and he was the one who had to make it. I held my nose and tryed to suck it down. I had a buzz off of half of it...Needless to say I won't be ordering that again. Thank God I didn't drive.

Basically we were looking for a place to sit and talk while eating breakfast in this area. We got there a little after 10am and were greeted as soon as we came in and were shown to a booth. The food was fine, not bad but not fantastic. The waiter came over to check on us for more coffee or tea. The service was good. The cream chip beef that I had was ok. I have had better and I have had worse. It probably needed more salt believe it or not! The potatoes were part of the platter and they mixed in well with the chipped beef. We were left alone to talk and not hurried along. Our conversation headed in the direction of politics and so we did get a little loud at some times and were not kicked out. Under these circumstances I would go again.

When we first moved here and didn't have kitchen appliances, we ate at Valentino's quite a bit. They used to have a great shrimp salad sandwich plus all manner of diner food. We ate plenty of their omelettes. However, the last time we went, the shrimp salad was really bland. The management had changed hands and I guess they didn't have the same recipe. Our favorite waiters were all gone. Sad but we won't be back.

It used to be great - now it is horrible. I ordered carryout to take to work. 45 minutes after ordering it still wasn't ready. The counterperson went into the kitchen and after waiting 10 minutes I finally had to leave. They didn't even bother crediting my card but charged me for a meal I didn't receive. If you make the mistake of getting carryout - DON'T PAY IN ADVANCE. Wait until they give you the food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
