Nice place with good food. It seemed a little overpriced, especially the beer. I think they only had 5 taps, but had a popular stout, and a seasonal or two - that is a plus.

I was in a group of 3 who went for lunch last Tuesday. We hadn't been there before. We were immediately told by the girl behind the bar to just take a seat "right there" which was at a high top table in the bar area. I thought that must be all that they had. I noticed a nice empty booth away from the bar that would have been perfect and also realized others were seated upstairs in the dining room. Anyway, they didn't have crab cakes which is what I ordered. The chorizo orzo soup was really a bowl of pasta with too much salt and a little speck of sausage here and there. The cheeseburger was just okay and the crab in avocado appetizer was good but not enough chips. I won't be going back.

The food we ordered was below average. Both our dishes were missing ingredients, leaving us with bland versions of what the menu had described. We could have made these dishes better ourselves at home. The server was friendly but seemed inexperienced. He forgot to mention the fryer was down until after our food came out without the listed sides, and never came back for our check. Hopefully it was just an off night in terms of execution. We'll give it one more chance, maybe when the owner is around, because it looks like a lot of work went into the renovations and the menu.

I'm sad to say that I didn't take any photos of our dining experience, since it's always been my pet peeve to watch people Instagram every morsel they consume (but hey, maybe that's the only highlight of their day). Sweet Caroline's has to be one of the best places I've dined in the Locust Point/Federal Hill areas. Our reservation was for 6:30, and we were seated immediately. I typically imagine that restaurants will be fairly full on a Friday night, but it was a quiet, calm evening. The restaurant itself is small - it looks to have been a residence at some point in time, long ago. For all those who require constant engagement with their sacred sports teams, there are TVs placed around the restaurant. Our server was a young girl with stretched earlobes, which was a friendly sight to me. She was attentive throughout our dining experience, while not being annoyingly aggressive about it. She brought us our drinks in a timely manner, and never gave the impression that she was any less than happy to serve us. I never had an empty glass on my table. I don't consider servers to be indentured servants who need to plod and toil to satisfy me - I'm a normal person who isn't too hard to please. We started with the baked brie, which was more than enough to share among three people. The puff pastry shell was buttery and rich, drizzled with brown sugar and candied walnuts. The rhubarb jam wasn't too sweet, and paired nicely with the brie. There were some fairly generic herb crostini with it as well, which I didn't touch. I ordered the chicken pot pie, and the other two ordered an arbor steak salad and the B.A.L.T. sandwich with chips. The pot pie was great, if a little undercooked. The crust was a bit too soft for my liking, but otherwise tasty. Their take on pot pie fillings was traditional, and there was nothing unexpected within the dish. There were no complaints on the other two entrees, and they were downed in no time at all. I'll certainly be returning to this place soon, because now I need to share this place with my less local friends!

Nick is a great bartender and conversationalist. The food was on point! The crab soup is flavorful and delicious. The po boy was the best I've ever had. Order it if you like garlic. Excited to try brunch!

We went there with a few friends and my wife's meal was terrible. She ordered the Cajun Shrimp Pasta which was suppose to be Sautéed shrimp, Cajun burre blanc, vermicelli, tomato filets, fresh herbs, garlic. Her meal ended up being a can of stewed tomatoes with 5 overcooked shrimp served over spaghetti. It was terrible and $16 which was a waste of money. I got the chopped house salad and the Thai Chili wings, which were good, but not good enough to overcome the lack of effort that was put into my wife's meal. Honestly, it seemed like they didn't have the ingredients to make the Cajun Shrimp Pasta and did a terrible job of improvising.

Sweet Caroline's is an attractive, clean place in Locust Point. We enjoyed lunch there today. We had chicken orzo tortilla soup, spinach goat cheese salad, and pulled pork sandwich with curly (not out-of-a-bag) fries. All were nicely presented and tasted great. First floor has a small bar and about seven tables, upstairs has more seating. Parking is on the street nearby. Nice clean city neighborhood.

Small bar in locust point. When I walked in during happy hour it was literally only one person there. The bartender Cedan was very nice and friendly and offered suggestions on what to eat. He also made me an awesome drink. They have weekly food and drink specials. As for the food we ordered the honey old bay wings, kettle chips, and the garlic shrimp flatbread. All of the food were pretty good but nothing was outstanding and would make me want to come back for more. My favorite food item probably was the flatbread. The shrimp tasted fresh with a bunch of garlic. It also had buffalo mozzarella on top which wasn't that melted. My friend enjoyed the wings the most. They were slightly spicy with a hint of honey and old bay. The kettle chips had bacon and melted cheese on top of it. This was ok but it didn't have much flavor. Aside from all of that, the light was out in the women's bathroom and they were out of tissue. I guess nobody checked supplies before they opened! Anyway, overall this place is clean and has great service. A nice local bar if your looking for decent food other than your average bar food.

Great food and atmosphere. Staff is very friendly. The crab cakes were great. My only small complaint was the price for craft beers.

Good lunch stop. The bartender served us outside. He was very attentive and even got us water for the dog. Our favorite dish was the Panko breaded chicken fingers. They were very moist and the dipping sauce was superb. We are glad to welcome them to the neighborhood.

For dinner on one of the recent cold nights we have been having, my roommate and I weren't in the mood to trek anywhere far away from the comfort of our apartment but we still wanted to try something new. Locust Point is fairly close to where we live and I was able to grab a reservation on Open Table for Sweet Caroline's so we headed over. The space is small and cozy, it would make a great date night spot if you're looking for something casual. Upon looking over the menu, we were both in the mood for soups because it is the dead of winter, and Sweet Caroline's has an awesome selection of sides, you can get three sides for $15. My roommate decided to go with the Cream of Crab Soup which was nice and creamy, although she found it to be a little heavy on the old bay. And this is coming from a Baltimore native who probably had Old Bay sprinkled into her bottles as a toddler. I decided to go with the Venison Chili. I really enjoyed seeing it on the menu because it is slightly different than the typical chili I'm used to seeing around Baltimore - beef. The chili was awesome, it wasn't overly spicy and had plenty of meat. The dish didn't waste space with pointless add-ons that do nothing but detract from chili. For our sides, we ordered the Grilled Haricot Vert. These were very good but there was nothing particularly noteworthy about them. We also ordered the Herbed Duck Fat Fries. The fries were a fairly large portion and seasoned nicely. They went well with our soups. My roommate and I throughly enjoyed everything we enjoyed and I can't wait to go back and try some of their other options.

Sweet Caroline's is a small Federal Hill / Locust Point restaurant that had been on our brunch list for a while, but their hours weren't very clear. We sat outside and got to people watch a bit, though this is a pretty quiet street. Service was okay, a little slow for there being very few other diners, and we had to ask for water refills a few times. Also, our fries came without the seasoning and we didn't see another server for about half an hour after we'd gotten our food, so we didn't get to ask for the seasoning (pretty much why we'd ordered them). His plate: Barbecue pork sandwich with slaw Her plate: Crabcake sandwich with lettuce and tomato To share: hand-cut chipotle cinnamon curly fries The main problem with both of our sandwiches was structural integrity - D's barbecue was well-sauced but "boring", though the texture seemed okay. It probably would've been better on a different shaped bun that held it together a bit more. This was one of the stranger crabcakes I've had, as it was very squishy and soft. The flavor wasn't bad, but it was just way too soft - hard to eat, way too much mayo and too many fillers added. We'd been looking forward to the chipotle cinnamon fries, but they arrived without any seasoning on them. They were definitely hand-cut and fresh, but they were a bit gummy in an undercooked way, and definitely more oily than we preferred. We're glad that we tried it, but it really weren't impressed by the food.

Parents ordered take out while they were babysitting the kid and apparently the crab cakes were burnt, my dad eats anything and said they were bad. Wish I was home I would've brought them back.

Wow. Pleasantly surprised by this charming neighborhood restaurant we found ourselves eating at, quite randomly. To summarize, fantastic crab cake which is something here in Bmore!! A friend invited us to meet up for a bite and drinks and we were more than impressed. Can't give five stars, as that is (in my opinion) for the very finest, but Sweet Caroline's is wonderful. Clean, pleasant atmosphere with very upbeat and helpful staff. Our waiter was reasonably familiar with the menu and made solid recommendations. If our server didn't have an answer, he was honest but sought out advice from other staffers. We started with crab cake dinner as an appetizer. Huge pieces of lumped meat perfectly baked with a side of home seasoned curly fries. Best crab cake I've had in town in a while. We then had sandwiches which were ample and delicious. A pulled pork topped burger and an Old Bay seasoned chicken sandwich. Both perfectly cooked again and presented nicely. We sat upstairs but the bar area looked very welcoming downstairs and we'll try that next time. All in all, five of us ate and drank several rounds for $150. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Very pleasant. We'll be back soon.

Had SUCH a great experience at Sweet Caroline's a week or so ago. It's a cozy vibe in what seems to be an old row house, renovated into the restaurant front. My sister and I shared the mac and cheese as an appetizer, which was TO DIE FOR. Made with truffle oil and baked to add that slight crispiness on top. I would have cheat meals every day for this. I had a steak and fig flatbread for dinner, and am embarrassed to say, finished the entire thing, after already devouring the mac and cheese, leaving me with nothing to take home for leftovers. It was THAT good. Service was more than friendly and helpful with any questions I had with the menu. And the bartender, Nick, was funny and easy on the eyes ;) My next stop in will definitely be to try out the brunch menu.

Brunch - 4 starts Dinner - 3 starts Love the chicken / biscuit tower for brunch. Very rich, but isn't that what one expets from chicken and biscuits? MAJOR THANK YOU to the waiter who let me order some off the menu broccoli with no fuss (7 months pregnant, had a craving, what can I do?). Since I'm preggo, didn't have a morning cocktail but they looked delicious. Dinner - had the pulled porker burger. AMAZING! SO delicious. However, it did not come out medium rare as I asked (more medium well). That's ok, it was still yummy. I tasted my husband's food (some pasta with lamb) and it was mediocre. The wings were just OK. All in all, I like this place. The prices are really reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I hope Sweet Caroline's does well! I would definitely frequent this place if I lived in the neighborhood.

This place was fantastic! We sat outside and had such nice server today. The food was absolutely delicious (burgers, fries, and avocado crab melt) and the wait staff was very accommodating to my friend who brought her infant. Best in Baltimore - my vote is in.

My friend and I tried this place yesterday. It was nice to be able to be seated right away (then again, there was probably a reason for that) and the waitress was nice too but from there it went down hill. My wine was bad (it did get replaced without a problem though). Then we ordered an appetizer while trying to decide what to order for dinner. About 10-15 minutes after ordering the appetizer, the waiter came to check if we wanted to put in the dinner order, which we did. It was probably another 20-30 minutes before the appetizer came out (Ahi Tatar). The moment we stuck our forks in that, our dinner came out too. Can you say bad timing? The Appetizer did not taste right ... it tasted like something in it was bad. We didn't eat it and just moved onto our dinner. I had the Seafood Pasta. It was bland. I could have easily cooked better at home. The pasta was just the cheap tri-colored pasta you can buy at any grocery store, the crab meat that was part of it was micro mini sized and the entire dish just lacked seasoning. My friend had the upside down pork rack and she said it was overcooked. It was also difficult to get the staff's attention although the place is small and it was next to empty. All in all, the only good thing was that the waitress was friendly when we got her attention and that it was so empty in there that we could have a pleasant conversation. I would not recommend this place unless you are just going out for a glass of wine.

Went last night for dinner. We were the only people in there. I can't believe this place has no vegetarian entree option. Such a let down. We both got salads. Its hard to mess up lettuce, apples, walnuts, and dried cranberries. Edit: apparently there is a vegetarian menu but I would have never known. There are also vegetarian salad toppers like fried green tomatoes which were not listed. I was offered to top the salad with chicken or crab meat which was listed. Maybe they should update the menu rather than have a separate vegetarian menu that isn't offered. This would be especially helpful for their online menu.

Was visiting Fort McHenry and this was on the way out. Outdoor seating was two picnic tables, and it is a nice, quiet street. Happy hour specials were good, especially on food. We ordered crab guacamole, which was uniquely served in the shell of the avocado and lots of lump crab on top. The honey bay wings were a delicious flavor. I had the Sweet Caroline burger, which was okay, but the handcut curly fries were fantastic. Overall, cute neighborhood bar with good food!

Thought the menu and atmosphere were promising but slow/lackluster service and "eh" food (it was just ok) will probably make us not go back. We were the only couple in there and it still took over 30 minutes for our entrees to come out. Fries needed seasoning ad the fish tacos were not very flavorful, either.

Sweet Caroline's hosted our annual holiday party last night and I cannot say enough amazing positive things about it! Everyone at my company loved the décor of the restaurant, the layout is great for a private party not too open but not too cozy either everyone had plenty of room to move about and socialize, THE FOOD was amazing they created a special menu just for our party and everyone just raved about the hors d'oeuvres that were passed by a friendly and fun wait staff, and finally the staff - They were amazing couldn't be more attentive or nicer! They even created a little sign on a canvas for us with our company name and everyone put their thumb prints and name on it. If you are looking for a fun, tasty, amazing place in a great location to have your next private party go to Sweet Caroline's! -Special thanks to Ashley the event coordinator and Patrick the Chef!

AHH Mazing!! Such good food and quality friendly service. Literally, I felt like we were the only people in the restaurant because the bartender was so attentive. It was a busy Friday night but she couldn't have been nicer. This will definitly be the first of many trips once the weather warms up!

Average service, bland food. Everything had very little seasoning; similar to something you could throw together on a Tuesday night in 10 minutes. The honey old bay seasoning on the wings was good, but the wings were not crispy and slightly undercooked. The one thing that did look good was the presentation of all the dishes.

This is the third strike for Sweet Caroline's. I had high hopes for this local locust point bar only blocks from our home. This first time ended with incredibly over priced draft beers for Baltimore. Our second trip we tried dinner...we would have been better off down the street. And now we leave our third trip even more disappointed. The service was terrible which is hard to understand considering there were more people "working" than dining. Needless to say, we will never return. And I feel so strongly about it that this is the first and only review I have left on yelp. To summarize, drinks are overprices, food is sub-par, and services is terrible.

Overall this place was decent. Our server Ashton was nice, but for it being so slow we still had to ask for refills. The crabcake was good. I thought it needed some more flavor (dijon, old bay..something). The menu was a tad small and I thought I would just settle on a crab cake. Overall, not a place to go back to. Just a once and done restaurant.

This place came pretty close to a 5 - and for what it is, it really is a 5. We were on our way to DC on 95 and wanted crab cakes. Of all the places we could have chosen we were so happy we chose Sweet Caroline's. Can you say perfection served on a bun? The crab cake had little if any filler, seasoned perfectly, delicious, succulent and redolent of fresh crab meat. It was served on a brioche bun - also just delicious. The accompanying fries had just the right amount of old bay seasoning. We left happy and filled.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here about 4 times and have usually been happy with our meals/service. The previous time I had a very dirty glass and returned it..no big deal. Last weekend we brought 4 of our friends for brunch and did not have a great experience. Our server was unattentive. She did not keep our drinks filled. Food was very slow coming out and two of my friends had to wait an extra 15 minutes to get their meals after us. The waitress did apologize for the wait and gave us a 'free' Eastern Shore omlette that the kitchen made by mistake. I noticed two pieces of hair in my crepes and sent the food back. I never received my side of potatoes. I also never got a replacement entree OR an apology from the staff! So basically, I did not eat anything while I was at brunch. When we got the bill we were charged for everything, including the 'free' Eastern Shore omlette that we did not ask for. The waitress did make adjustments to the bill after we asked twice. No apologies for the service or hairy food. Needless to say we won't be returning.

What a pleasure! Dinner for 6 upstairs was a delight. Quiet enough to hear everyone at the table - tables not too close and no overly loud piped in music. Enough variety in the menu to please everyone (lots of offerings include hearts of Palm - a current kitchen favorite). Our server was attentive and enthusiastic. House do racial $4./ glass house wines. Food was yummy and reasonably priced. Portions are hearty for appetizers, soups, and entrees so be prepared. A neighborhood gem. We will return.

Won't go back. It's a shame too, neighborhood joint. Food was uninspired and pricy. Fish tacos were meager, served with what looked to be fried rice. Kids grilled cheese was not melted, I'm wondering if they source their cheese from Kraft Farms? Black bean salad was the highlight at 'just alright'. I swear that corner is doomed. One highlight is the decent beer selection.

Pretty pleased with my venture out to Locust Point yesterday. Had a late lunch here and all was good. Place is only 3 weeks old (at time of post) and is nice and clean. Staff was friendly and called me by my name. Pulled pork sammich was damn good. No complaints at all. They'll be having Sunday brunch and NFL specials. Check 'em out if you're in the area.

We had our mom's night out here last night, and I'm so in love with the story of this local restaurant! The service is great and the owners are so sweet! It's got such a cozy feel when you walk it- perfect for date night, girls night out or just chillaxin at the bar!

  • Amy W.

Stopped in for lunch around 12:30 on a Monday...the place was empty, but it was early...more people started coming later. They were out of the pulled pork and their signature wings, both of which I had my eye on, but not the end of the world. I had a bowl of chicken taco soup and it was delicious! It was perfectly spicy, and for someone who puts hot sauce or spices in pretty much everything I was happy with their spice level. It was also very flavorful and all of their ingredients come fresh daily from local farms. I also had the panko breaded chicken tenders. They are served with a "boom boom" sauce that is very good. The tenders were done very well...seasoning very flavorful, not dry at all. Drinks were good and the bartenders were open to tailoring the drinks to the customer's satisfaction (ie-not too sweet, extra this or that, etc). I had a basil margarita, which was a little too sweet for me...and a cucumber cilantro ginger gin martini served with Hendricks gin. It was very refreshing! I really liked that. Ask them to make it without the simple syrup. All in all I'm glad this new spot is in my neighborhood.

  • Jameson C.

Glad there is another option in the neighborhood, however, I feel like its overpriced, and I'm not someone who says those things. Last time I was there, I ordered the draft pumpkin ale and they charged me $8 per beer. I didnt realize it until I got the bill and wasn't going to refute it since it was my fault but seems crazy for a neighborhood restaurant. Also, there bartenders are usually dressed up wearing suspenders but everytime I go and sit in the bar area, our server is basically wearing yoga pants and a Ravens shirt or something (not on game day) and just kind of sloppy in general.
