TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE -EVER!!! HAIR IN FOOD...VERBALLY ABUSED BY PATRICK!!! My husband and I suffered verbal abuse from the owner himself, Patrick. We visited on a Groupon deal for $60 value worth of food. After taking two weeks just to make a reservation (warning sign indeed.) We arrive. When we went to place our orders we both chose the crabcake platter that had two crabcakes for 23 bucks, which clearly equals less than $60 bucks. We tried to maximize our groupon whenever we can. Patrick told us the one crabcake dinner only applies although we were well within the under $60 bucks range if we ordered the two crabcakes. So, after several minutes of arguing he obliged and let us order the double crabcake meal. Fast forward to our food getting to the table, I'm half way through eating the second crabcake and notice a VERY LONG BLONG HAIR coming from my crabcake. After taking at least 5 minutes to summon Patrick because he wouldn't give us direct eye contact, he finally walks over. Looks at the hair as I picked it up. After originally dismissing it as a crabcake particle, he realized it was his WIFE'S HAIR (she's the cook, which is why you have to make a reservation. He then proceeds to take the piece of hair and walk away from our table saying NOTHING, not even a sorry, or "oh we'll get you another one right away." As proud American's who are used to professional service, we assumed he rushed to the kitchen to get a fresh crabcake on order. No such luck! 45 MINUTES LATER, and still no apology from Patrick, only side-eye's, my husband goes to check on what's going on. I turn around to hear Patrick yelling at my husband about how he "COMPED" us the extra crabcakes. I grabbed my purse, gave him a piece of my mind and informed him my review will rip him to shreds (Which I hope this does it justice) and we left. Patricks is A) terrible establishment B) cook does not wear a hair net C) owner is a douche - a double douche. Don't support this businesses. I'm a resident of Baltimore and love to give back to my own but this is not an establishment worth existing. -Signed, A pissed customer

The food was terrible, frozen fish and overcooked steak. The food was extremely over priced for the quality. The owner double charged my card and when confronted became extremely rude, argumentative, blamed the double charge on me and was unwilling to apologize for the inconvenience it caused. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON!!!

Pat sung us a song, introduced us to everyone at the bar and the burger was delicious.

Pay no attention to the other reviewers' comments about it being difficult to get a reservation with the LivingSocial/Groupon deals - I had no such problem. I easily got a reservation, and Patrick is very nice. He relishes in talking to customers, so expect that. The food itself was very good - I highly recommend the Ruben. The crab cake is also delicious. However, I'm only giving 3 stars because it's expensive for the portions that you get. You can get the same amount for much cheaper elsewhere. The groupon deal was a really good one though, and brought it down to a reasonable price

So I bought a groupon for Patricks for my boyfriend and I - Super glad i did. The first time we went, was after work but neither of us was extremely hungry, so we got drinks, split an app then left. Second time, the groupon has already expired but Patrick was kind enough to still give us a slight discount. I think he runs the bar and dining area by himself, and his wife is in the kitchen. I've never been on a weekend, so idk how it is then, but when we went, it was just the dynamic duo. Because of that, it was a *tinsey* bit slow, but that wasn't an problem. The other guests are great company, always ready and willing to engage in conversation. Plus Patrick is a hoot. Both times we went, there was music. If you're not into bar music (I'm not) or Irish music (I'm not) or Irish bar music (I'm not), don't worry, it's actually still pretty fun. When I bought the groupon, I had no idea it was a Irish bar. We were super surprised when we pulled up, and a little nervous, because we are both African American. And even though no one acted like they didn't see color (Patrick was directing where plates went. He said "that guy right there...no the black one" lol), everything was still in good humor and spirits. We will prolly go back, because it's close to his job, and Patrick always has a good joke for us. Oh, and yes, he did remember us when we came in the second time, but...that prolly wasn't too hard lol

I don't know how I feel about this place. I was visiting town and this was the closest bar that I could find. The owner is very friendly / personable and seems to know all the patrons at the bar. There are five drinks on tap. Nothing outstanding. Some low-end local brews. Had a glass of Guinness. It was decent. I think it was poured pretty properly. It's definitely on a nitro tap because the bubbles went down. One Guinness is 5.50+tax. I was told that all drinks and burgers are 50% off on Mondays. It's just a neighborhood bar. Nothing spectacular. The food didn't look that great either.

It is strange to say there is a lot of unrealized potential for a place that is allegedly America's oldest Irish bar. The beer is cold (Guiness, Harp and Boh on draft), the wings were good and the nachos were passable. This place has loads of potential character - and the few other patrons were characters enough - but where is the Irish Stew, the Shepard's Pie? Also, I hate it when something is billed as a pint but is less; I heard the Brits actually cracked down on this a few years ago (thanks, NPR!). Kudos on the great drink specials though, Thursday night is 1/2 off all drinks for the ladies, Tuesdays for the bros.

I bought a Groupon for Patricks and decided to grab a bite. Before walking in, I notice the Groupon says that a reservation is required. Ok, I do not have one, but I am right outside and figure let's see if I can grab a bite anyway. I walk in and there is NOT ONE SINGLE CUSTOMER THERE. Literally not one. Only the owner and his wife. So I tell the guy I have a Groupon and the following ensues: Owner: Do you have a reservation? Me: No. Owner: You need a reservation. Me: Can I call up right now and make a reservation for 5 minutes later because there is no one here? Owner: No. You can't make the reservation for the same day (NOTE: this is not on the Groupon). Me: Why? There is no one here. Owner: We only take so many Groupon reservations per night (NOTE AGAIN: this is not on the Groupon). Me: Well, how many Groupon resevrations do you have? Owner: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! (as he walks away). Wow. Ok, the Groupon does say I need a reservation. But the owner openly added limitations to the Groupon that were not on the face of it. There was no requirement to make the reservation for a different day, nor was there one regarding the number of Groupon users the restaurant would accept in a day. Clearly he is not Mr. Letter-of-the-Law when it comes to adding restrictions, but not only enforced the reservation requirement but did so in an exceptionally hostile way. I mean, the guy was rude as hell. You might think I would never go back. Wrong. I could get $20 back from Groupon or $40 of food from this guy. I made the reservation, went with a friend, had a meal (not bad) and told the owner very specifically why, despite having friends right in the area, I would never come back. Who the hell needs that treatment? Not me.

I like this place... It's nice and cozy and Pat is really personable. It felt like I was having dinner at his home! Lol The only thing I would change is adding Shepherds Pie to the menu :-)

I went here last week with a friend because I had a groupon, we entered at 6pm and there were NO other patrons in the restaurant and we even had to wait to order since the cook went for groceries and wasn't back yet. I had the cream of crab and rueben and my friend had the cream of crab and a crabcake. The cream of crab was a bowl of milk with about one lump of crabmeat thrown in to call it crab soup. The barkeeper said alot of the patrons liked it. Well, those patrons must really be drunk at the time. As there was almost no crabmeat and there was no cream in that soup either. The rueben had a good tasting meat, but was small in portion especially given this was an Irish bar/restaurant. My friends "world famous" crabcake came out burnt to the point it was black. I was amazed he continued to eat it instead of sending it back. One other gentleman came in and in talking with the barkeeper, he said the place would be packed after 8. Given his comments about the food, I seriously doubt it and as we left on a Saturday night at 7:30pm there was only 3 other patrons beside us. This may be one of the oldest Irish pubs, but it won't last with the current cook or the bar better be hopping. The barkeeper was friendly, but that was the only positive of this visit. If your looking for Irish food, go elsewhere, if your looking for drinks try after 8 when you won't be drinking alone hopefully.

This is my colleague's "neighborhood bar"... we all went here for a happy hour, and be honest, I wasn't expecting much. But wow, it was good! I've been back two more times since, and will happily continue to return. To say the bartender here is friendly is an understatement. I say "bartender" in the singular sense because it's always been the same guy -- James. He introduces himself to everyone, shakes your hand, and asks for your name... how often does that happen? The owner, "Mr. Patrick," stopped in the last time and the whiskey started FLOWING... it got a little out of hand, I had to call my wife for a ride home. If I have to ding them something, I would say that menu could use a little work. Some of the prices seem a bit steep, but I find the burgers to be tasty and a good value. Last time I was there they were out of corned beef, which seems like an act of heresy for an Irish joint. The place was closed for a while, and I think they are still getting their legs back, so I'm definitely giving them the benefit of the doubt. Patrick's is a real classic. Check it out sometime!

Patrick's is an Irish pub in the way I imagine pubs in Ireland to be. The bartender was warm and friendly in his greeting - asking our names and giving friendly drinking and dining advice. We had the Saturday pot roast special as recommended. Better than my mom's (please don't tell her I said so)!

The bartender was nice enough, but the fish 'n chips with sweet potato fries were pretty gross, and none of the drafts on tap were impressive. Of course, that last part is kind of how Irish bars roll. Still, the fish 'n chips were a let down. This would be a two star review if the history weren't so interesting, and if the violin player they had in as live music hadn't been so good. She was amazing!

we (finally) stopped in here after (finally) visiting the b&o museum across the street. it's a small place on the corner, nothing fancy, but it was cozy, the staff was friendly and the burgers were really good. according to the bartender, it's the oldest continuously-operated irish bar in america. there you go.
