We were in Baltimore the weekend of the Indy. The front desk clerk at the hotel we were staying recommended Mo's and said that they had very good seafood. We actually wanted steamed crabs and initially was going to another restaurant but because my gps decided to take a nap we stumbled upon Mo's. Yes, as other's have said the place could do with a little remodeling the food in my opinion was quite good both my DH started with the crab dip which was great and both had Mo's crab cakes which were huge. Our waiter Nicholas was very entertaining and very attentive. Yes it is very pricey but it was well worth it.

Let me start off with Mo's saving grace: very friendly and solid customer service! Our waiter was particularly helpful as well as funny. Oh, and if you happen to like broccoli, everyone gets that as a side dish with your meal. Aside from that though... yikes. I'm scrambling. Considering how many people from the Baltimore area recommended it, it was a HUGE disappointment. I was not impressed with my food. I ordered a crab meat with alfredo sauce pasta. The alfredo sauce was very overwhelming, and the crab was alright but not the most tasty and still had little bits of shells with it. It was such an awkwardly large quantity that I took it to go... and having it as a leftover wasn't any better. I think a part of that is because it was like a soup with how much alfredo sauce there was. If you're looking for good Baltimore crab food, I would not recommend this place.

I really wish I had read the reviews before I went :( I ordered the crab trio--which was decent, it was just expensive. The atmosphere wasn't that great.

First of all, et me just say that the $216.00 that I spent on Sunday for the food that I received was a understatement. The service was not bad. The restaurant was dark and dreary, but I went to the bathroom upstairs and it was a whole new section bright lights and everything. the crab cake was dry, no seasoning at all the fried food from the clams to the scallops to the fish tasted like it had been fried in old grease, everything was dark none of the fried food look fresh. The only thing that was halfway okay was the shrimp and they were over seasoned. It is sad to say but the ceasar salad was the only thing that I thought was okay. Everything else was boxed up and taken home and still sitting in my refridgerator.

So I heard through the grapevine that this was the "Best Seafood in Baltimore" and I approached the place with a little apprehension. I went to the location at the Inner Harbor (remember this is down and dirty Bmore so expectations aren't that high). I will say that I was pleasantly surprised, the food was pretty good, the staff was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. While the food does not compare to some of the other seafood restaurants I've been to it did the job of making me feel full and providing nutrients.

The food and the service was good they were very accommodating but and the server we had was very nice very helpful and descriptive even with things that were going on in the area but one thing they could improve the bathroom was dirty and I mean very dirty but other than that nice place to eat

Hotel Concierge recommended Mo's as a local's seafood place with excellent food. Disappointing because 1) crab cakes had shells in every other bite, 2) Shaved ice machine was ridiculously loud so you couldn't talk to others at the table, and 3) the remaining seafood was just, meh.

This place is a dirty, run down hole in the wall and the prices are not at all commensurate with the atmosphere. Specifically, the owner doesn't seem to much care about cleanliness and ambiance --carpet dirty and bathroom smell. I wouldn't eat a FREE meal here.

I will never return to a restaurant that automatically adds a tip to the bill for a party of 2. Why do they do this? The answer is obvious- their food is so overpriced, considering the meager surroundings, tiny crowded tables and a single poorly cleaned bathroom for both men and women; the owner assumes you will take it out on the waitress by leaving a meager tip. To be honest- the food was OK and even the service was OK. But to deprive a customer of the chance to determine the tip is just plain insulting. I won't return. Phillips is very close and they know how to treat a customer.

Okay, so you know when you go to those dirty restaurants out of the 70's and 80's and they think that "Puttin on the Ritz" is still a new song? Yeah, this is that place. Let me outline for you, if I may: 1) You seriously go through a time warp when entering this joint. I thought Bally's in Atlantic City was bad-- 2) The food is ALL fried. If you like that, great, but seriously--EVERYTHING?? Battered and fried--I thought I was talking to Bubba from Forrest Gump! To make matters worse, it's gross too, not like "hey good job on the fries there." Nope, they serve McCain fries, right outta the freezer. 3) OVERPRICED like crazy. We ordered a "sampler" and they docked us $46.00. This consisted of 1 crab cake (fried), Crab legs (3 of them), a bowl of McCain's fries (soggy and smelly) and 2 odd crab dip things. We should have just gone to Cheesecake Factory, but ohhhh nooo, I wanted to eat where the locals eat. People of Inner Harbor, you disgust me. 4) They add their own tip to the receipt. Normally a practice done in parties of 6 and above, there were only 4 of us by my last count. What the deuce! Creepy ass waiter who looked as greasy as the food--disgusting. Honestly, I am not even going to gripe anymore. The only saving grace is that I get to write this review and pass on the love to my Yelp world out there. Save your wallet, save your tastebuds, and most importantly, save you arteries.

This place sucks and I can't believe people convinced me to go to Mo's since some of these other reviews echo my experience. Keep in mind only 3% of my reviews get 1 star. Here's the quick and dirty: -no bartender to be found while waiting at bar for table -once seated server disappeared alot and when he was around, he was worthless -took forever to get drinks and it was the wrong order -after about an hour and having some apps we realized having lunch would be a 2 1/2 hour ordeal so we just ordered another app -server brings over the app and doesn't clear our other app plates so I cleared the table -TIP IS INCLUDED SO YOU HAVE NO LEVERAGE AFTER CRAP SERVICE -Crab Cake and Crab/Shimp Cocktail were pretty good but not worth the crap service

Dirty carpet, bathroom smells like urine and dirty. Ordered Blackened Red Fish got mahi mahi. Waiter argued with me about it and then at the end of the night tried to apologize for the mistake "the cook" made. The other two platters were terrible. Would not recommend to any one.

Yikes! Just don't! Trust me - really! Just don't. Funny - I had a bad feeling when I walked in and saw bad 1975 decor...I should have trusted my instincts. Generally the "little hole in the wall" kind of place is my style...but really this is not that - this is just bad. Bad service, bad food, bad decor and bad attitudes! They added 18% tip to our bill and there were TWO of us!

Food was good, but the service was terrible. The waitress was very rude and our order took 45 minutes. You'd think the service could be combatted with a low tip, but no, an 18% gratuity was already added to our party of four. Strongly reconsider before you eat here.

Don't go here!! Service was absolutely terrible, bathrooms were rancid dirty and meals were extremely overpriced! Would not recommend!!!

Best freaking crab dip in America! This is the only place that I would go to for crab dip. The crab cakes are worth the price, along with the other seafood options. The downtown baltimore location is a little small, but the food makes up for it. I personally like going to the Towson location now because they over shrimp in their crab dip, and it's closer to my school.

One of my favorite spots in my hometown. If you go there for more than crab cakes, I'm not really sure what your problem is! lol... The crab cakes are about the size of a softball and they are DEFINITELY a mean by themselves. I love the cream of crab soup as well. I'd advise going on a week night - the weekends can get a little crazy.

Being from Seattle I know what great seafood is, and I've even had it in Baltimore..... BUT this isn't it. For the money it's decent, however not great by anyeans. It isn't terrible, give it a 2.5 nut notthing to write home about. Don't think I'll be returning.

Expensive but gigantic, and heavenly fried crab cakes the size of a baseball. A real treat.

You know when you go some place recommended by a local, only to find out the local has never been to the place? That was my experience here. The seafood was no between than a chain seafood joint in the middle of the country. I was with a party of three other and all agreed that we could have done without the recommendation and would not be returning.

This place is horrible. The service started off fine, until the waiter had my order. Then, he was never seen again until I was finally at the register paying and complaining to the manager, who, she acted like she was tweaked out on something. The napkin that was brought to the table for me when seated was dirty, and I pointed this out. Another one was never brought, even though I asked several times. The food was not good, and the Alaskan King Crab legs were cold, as were the potatoes. I kept trying to get the attention of other servers or bussers, but that was impossible. Then I waited for nearly 20 minutes to use the bathroom (only one) but an employee was in there for an extremely lengthy period of time. When I tried to explain the experience to the manager, she acted like it was all my fault, and that I was out of line and that nobody ever walks into a restaurant and complains like that. I was quiet and over in a corner with her so as not to involve any other customers. I was really shocked about the tip being added to the check, when I had no service. The waiter disappeared after taking my order and never came back. The manager, female, was nasty looking, and extremely rude while I tried to explain the situation to her. She did take the tip off but yelled across the bar to the waiter, who finally appeared while I was paying, to let him know I was complaining about him, when at this point it was obvious the problems begin with her, and said I refused to pay the tip. I explained it was obviously not his fault, but her's. She then said why did I stay to pay the bill and not just leave? I explained that after ordering the food, and I was hungry, I was not trying to get out of paying the bill, I was trying to let her know what was going on. She couldn't be bothered, instead kept yelling at me across the bar while she adjusted the tip off the check, then thew it at me. I travel weekly for work to different cities. Never have I experienced anything like this in a restaurant, and NEVER have I refused a tip. On a business expense, money is not an issue, so her statements are all false. Terrible place, poor service, lousy food.

I have only three things to say: 1) crabcakes as big as my head 2) fried shrimp that actually tasted like shrimp 3) having the maitre d' sit us at a way too large table and telling us he was going to send over some guys to sit with us, because we looked lonely. I LOVED THIS PLACE!

First off there are a lot of Mo's Seafood in Maryland. This review only applies to Fisherman's Warf on President Street. The fish here is great and well prepared with lots of options. The prices are moderately expensive with a dinner costing around in the mid teens to the low twenties per person. The reason why this review is three starts and not five is that the atmosphere is horrible. The chairs all have hard cushions that have long ago collapsed leaving you sitting in a hole that feels a lot like a toilet seat. And speaking of the toilet, there is only one unisex stall for the entire restaurant. Which means if you have to go chances are good you will be waiting for someone to finish up. If that wasn't enough the entire place has a feeling that it could desperately need a really good cleaning. So if you want decent seafood go to Mo's, but if you want some place to impress the out-of-towners...go someplace else.

While staying in Baltimore we wanted, of course, crab cakes. We asked around about good spots which there seemed to be no shortage of. We picked mo's in little italy. A free shuttle is supplied to pick us up at the hotel and drop us wherever we wanted to go. The restaurant is what it is. Casual and friendly. We ordered the lump crabcakes and an angel hair pasta with crab and mushrooms. We were waited on friendly and quickly. We had our salads in minutes then got our entrees a little to fast as we wern't done our salads yet. The crab cakes were huge. I could only eat one. The couple next to us must eat there alot they had one order of crab cakes and split that along with some appitizers. I thought the crab cakes were excellent and the angel hair pasta dish was also very good. Nice hot bread to start you off too. The place has a simple neighborhood feel to it. We were there on a friday at 6:00 and it was filling up when we left at about 7:00. I would go back there again just for the crabcakes.

My goodness. I was in town on business and 7 of us decided to give Mo's a try. A few things made me skeptical. The menu was huge, like a diner. Here is a seafood place with a large pasta and chicken section. Second, nothing on the menu was "on the half shell". All the clams and oysters were served cooked. A real fish place would have a cold seafood platter but there was non to be found. Third, everything had crab imperial stuffed into it. My dish was fish with crab imperial and was straight out of the 1970's. The plates even had dried parsley sprinkled over them. The waiter told us the special crab cakes were fresh, lump crabmeat. The menu crab cakes, he said, were canned backfin meat. Well, the special crab cakes were these huge, disgusting mounds of cheap crab cake mix with a smattering of lumps. Just see the photos people are posting. Three of the seven people ordered that dish and they could hardly eat the first one, let alone the second one. They also served very pathetic side dishes. Each vegetable was served diner style, in its own dish and was way over cooked and under seasoned. French fries were frozen, overlooked, dry and also not seasoned. We spent over $400 for the seven of us and no one had desserts and most had just two beers. Clearly the chef at Mo's checked out a long time ago. Service was fine and the bread was delicious. Everything else was underwhelming.

After reading numerous reviews and asking people in our search of a seafood restaurant to try in Baltimore, we decided to try Mo's. I got to say the jumbo crab cakes are just to die for. They are excellent, so good that even my son tried it for the first time and keep asking for more. My lobster imperial special and my husband's 4 crab sampler are excellent. The only reason I am not giving the place a 5 star is because the portion is way too big. They should consider selling smaller portions at a lower price. We are glad that we have chosen Mo's.
