Great place to grab a late-night bite 'cause it's open until 2:00 a.m.. It gets pretty crowded when the Fed Hill bars close so if you want to beat the crowd I'd head over a little earlier, but they move pretty quickly down the line so the wait is never that long. Minimal seating, so always grab take out. Pizza's are reasonably priced. Nothing too special, considering it's just a family take-out place but it definitely hits the spot after being out all night. Their wings are pretty good too!

I did not have the pizza but a sub. It was good. It was a cheesesteak and a reasonable attempt since we were not in Philly.

Best pizza, gravy fries and iced tea in Maryland. I have been eating here since I was a child. NY style pizza is amazing! Staff is always so polite and nice.

On a recent trip to Baltimore, MD, to visit my good friend Nevis, I attended a Kennedy Kreiger Institute benefit for hunger awareness at the 8x10. Fittingly, the band Hunger Strike, headlined the show. Everyone was asked to fast for the day before attending the show. So obviously I was famished by the time the set was over. I went to grab a quick bite around the corner at Maria D's on Light Street. It was a counter pizza joint with a fairly extensive menu. I ordered a slice with mushroom and one with blue point oysters (a local favorite). I was skeptical of the oyster pizza, but several friends of Nevis assured me it was great and that they got the oysters fresh from the Cross Street Market, located right down the block. They said that if you like anchovy pizza, you will like oyster pizza. It took a while for them to call my number, but it was worth the wait. The pizza was similar to boardwalk pizza. The mushroom was like any other mushroom, but the oyster was out of this world, and it wasn't just because it was the first thing I ate all day. The oysters added a great salty flavor that paired well with their sauce. If you ever see oyster pizza on a menu, definitely try it. I left pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

If you find a better pizza joint than Maria D's in Baltimore city, I wanna hear about it. Hands down, Maria D's uses the best ingredients, make the best dough, and are generous with the toppings. I've been going for at least 5 years now and while I can't speak to the rest of the food -- you can't go wrong with the pizza. And now they deliver. Whoo hoo!

Maria D's is the perfect late night pizza place. The food is nothing to write home about but it is open late and has a wide variety of food items. I usually order the pizza which is pretty standard if not mediocre. Crust is neither thin nor thick... It's thin but not sturdy enough to eat with one hand. Cheese is most likely processed and fresh from a bag. Tomato sauce is tangy with slight metallic under tones that can only mean it was freshly opened from a can that morning. The calzones are too bready and greasy. Not that that's a bad thing. The pizza toppings are pretty plain. The subs are ok. Again, pretty standard Baltimore carry-out grub here. Convenient place for late night hunger pangs. Comfortable menu with items that everyone knows and enjoys. Just don't expect your culinary world to be rocked upside down and you'll appreciate this place for what it is.

First, I'd like to note that I've visited this place a few times, because I live so close to it and would love to find some sort of greasy goodness that I can easily visit to fulfill comfort cravings. I first came here for a slice of cheese pizza. Don't. It was old and dry. So, I tried again for a whole pie so it would be fresh. Eh. Not bad, but not good. Then, I realized that they specialize in subs, so I realized I should definitely try their famous steak and cheese sub. But, sadly I was disappointed. It was greasy (that's what steak subs are supposed to be), but I found the steak to lack flavors, and the taste of american cheese left me craving for provolone. Then one night after drinks from Illusions and Pub Dog, I thought a slice of pizza would do wonders! So, I attempted for Maria D's again, but didn't make it and went home to cook a Totino's (how can you go wrong with Totino's?!). Sadly, I fell asleep on the couch and burnt the Totino's to a black crisp!!! Luckily, I didn't burn the place down. This review is to warn all that after you drink, don't use the oven!

The best cheesesteak and chicken cheese steak I've ever had. My favorite is the chicken cheesesteak with hots and no tomatoes.

  • Natasha R.

Hands down the best gyros and pizza in Bawlmer. I agree that Thirsty Dog has awesome pizza also but it is different. Best hangover relief ever. Especially after New Year's Eve. Stumbling over there to get a gyro with extra tziziki (sp?) sauce is how I spelled relief many a times. Great people watching late night too when the bars close. You get to see yuppies, drug dealers, strippers, etc all in the same place standing in line. Had to take a star away for being closed on New Year's day this year.

Do not expect brilliance, but for a local, hot cheese on bread pizza place it's pretty spot-on.

  • Josh D.

It is what it is. It's great at 2 o'clock in the morning after the bars close, and your tasted buds are soaking in alcohol. They're pizza is better than chain pizza, and fairly good if you get a fresh pie out of the oven, but when you walk in and order a slice, it's usually been sitting out for a while and stale. The staff is friendly up until the bars close... after that it's every man for himself.

  • Amy W.

Best cheese pizza ever! Drink Half and Half with it - half lemonade/half iced tea. Delicious! Not friendly or warm service, but quick and good!

  • Katharine S.

I agree with the other reviewer. Why has nobody else chimed in about how amazing this place is?! I'd passed by it on my way to the Federal Hill bar scene but hadn't eaten their pizza until my co-worker brought some in for lunch one day. I can be pretty picky about my pizza, delivery is okay, but if you really want to satisfy my craving, pick up some Maria D's. It's the perfect pizza. Really. And it's open late. And the staff is friendly. It's family owned. How can you go wrong? Unless the only time you try it is in a drunken haze and then you can't remember what it tastes like the next morning. Now that would be a crime.

The pizza at this place is so bad. No flavor, soggy crust even on a fresh whole pie order. Horrible pizza and service. Double charged my credit card and my friends at the same time after swearing they only charged one. Then argued with me that my card was not charged. Of course, when i check my BOA account a couple days later he charged my card!!! Don't go to these guys!! What a rip off!

Late night take-out joint that used to be respected for its pizza, but no longer - it's super-greasy and not very flavorful. Subs can be passable but aren't great. I've had some semi-average food and some horrible food here. It's OK for when nothing else is open. Cheesesteaks are really not good here.

  • Danielle B.

I can't believe there are no reviews for this place.....definitely the best pizza I've ever had in Federal Hill (aside from the Thirsty Dog but that is a different kind of pizza)....open late night...next time you stumble out of a bar late night in Fed Hill...make a point of stumbling over to Maria D's you won't be disappointed

Went here for lunch. I was only looking for a light sub. Debated between the pizza sub or the steak and mushroom and ended up going with the steak and mushroom. Glad I did. It was awesome! I think there was melted chedder in there, and I'm not really a fan of chedder, but there wasnt so much that it overwhelmed the sandwich. The ingredients in the sandwich were simply perfect together. I think I even tasted a bit of tabasco sauce in there; whatever it was, I loved that extra kick. My only complaint would be the bread; it got a big soggy on one end. Other than that, I loved my sandwich. It was a really good size too. I was only able to eat half. I saved the other half for later. Maria's is a good and cheap place to have lunch. Give it a try if you haven't already.

The pizza is good, but I would only eat there during the day. If you go at night, it is filled with drunken fraternity types, who argue with any patron standing in close proximity to them. The place has no control beyond the desk, nor do they even try to provide security. For decent pizza, you can suffer through it!

  • Patricia R.

I grew up eating pizza in a pizza parlors with real Italians making pizza. That being said, I've struggled to find good pizza in MD, but I am a fan of this place. I may be a little biased because the two times I've been here its been after a late night of dancing and drinking and it's the only place open and serving food... Nonetheless, I like it - I've gone on two occasions, once there was no one in there, once it was beyond fire hazard crowded in there, and both times the pizza was good and the service was fast. Actually.. I may be going back later this evening!

The thing that drives me crazy about this place is that they know they'll be extremely busy every weekend late night from midnight-ish til 3am. Yet they continue to make everything to order. Now...this is a fantastic idea! But when you have 100 drunk college kids in one tiny restaurant with far too bright lights...not a good combo. Make a bunch of cheese and pepperoni pizzas ahead of time and keep em warm. The drunk 19 year olds really won't know the difference. Papa Johns is killing them on the other side of the market because you are in and out with you pizza...not 30+ minutes like a Maria D's. Also, the last few times I had been there (and I'll admit it's been a little while) the woman squawking your order number over the intercom killed my ear drums! They aren't deaf...just wasted and underage.

I have been coming to Maria D's since I was in college (10+ years now) , and the food has not changed. What I love about this place is that it reminds me of a pizza joint/ sub shop from back home (NY). No offense but no pizza tastes as good as NY pizza from some lil mom & pop joint. It just doesn't. You know when you get the slice, you fold it and bite ... it's so hot you can't chew - yeah, that kinda pizza. The kind that drips grease down your arm bc it's so flavorful ... yeah, that kinda pizza. The kinda slice that is so big you HAVE TO fold it in order to eat it ... yeah - that kinda pizza. Well, Maria D's delivers EVERY TIME!!!! And not just pizzas but the subs are HUGE and PACKED with flavor / ingredients. There's a reason why it keeps winning awards from publications like the City Paper. Try it, you won't be sorry you did ...

If you are looking for a good sub at a great price this is it. Pretty decent subs, pretty good fries. Late night spot all the way.

Beer-burnt taste buds---that is my only explanation of why people would give this place a three star or above rating! The pizza is straight-up bland and greasy. I would think I would be able to taste the mozzarella at least but I couldn't. Shoot, freaking Ragu sauce is better than the sauce that they put on the pie. Don't get me started with the knock-off-brand, processed too many times and formed to look like pepperoni! I think after people sober up, they recall their wonderful night hanging out at the bars in Fed Hill. This overly positive recollection of the night then gets mixed into their post-bar pizza run at Maria D's. Thus, they recall that they had a great time and then have these false preconceptions (probably because they were intoxicated at the time) that the food was actually good there. Things that make you go hmmmm.....

Ordered takeout from here on a Monday around 5pm (via the website, extremely convenient) and the food arrived 15 minutes later. Pizza was a thin crust NY style and cooked perfectly to fold a slice over and enjoy. Also ordered a chicken cheesesteak and a regular cheesesteak, the bread was soft and delicious. The meats were chopped very fine and cooked perfectly. They have plenty of customization options therefore you can put as much or as little on your food as you like. All in all a very good pizza/ sub place that will retain this guy as a frequent customer.

We just moved into the area and tried this place after a Ravens game. Having grown up in New York, I can safely say that this IS a good representation of real New York style pizza. Greasy and thin with a tangy crust. when I'm in the mood for this style of pizza, and preferrably after consuming a half dozen beers, this is the spot. The cheesesteak is good, and the cold cut subs average, (definitely NOT a good representation of a New York Style Italian Cold Cut). The crowd ranges from eccentric to hysterical, with a real city charm and flair, (for better AND worse). The people that work there could definitely work at any New York pizzeria I've been to. Be prepared to be yelled at if you don't have your order ready, and good for them for that! Overall, a very good greasy pizza stop that I'll visit again and again and again.

Yes, Maria D's is THE spot in fed hill to grab some pizza after a night of drunken debauchery amongst the fratty cross street bar scene. Their pizza is pretty good, the best take out pizza definitely in the area (MUCh better than ledos, dominoes and bolis). However, I have been pleasantly surprised by their other menu options, such as their stromboli! the thing is huge, you definitely get your money's worth. Also it is really tasty. I agree with most people here, service is what you would expect from a take out place, so not good and also orders can take a while, you should call ahead if you can. so to sum it up: great drunk food, surprisingly good other food, slow service

Absolutely THE best cheesesteak ever!!! Blows Philly out of the water! Darn good Baklava too!

My roommate took me here in 1997 while I was going to school in Baltimore for Gyros. I have been hooked ever since. After going out in Federal Hill, this was the place to stop before coming home. I am a true pizza fanatic and this place ranks up there for thin crust, Italian style, old school pizza. I still try to find reasons to go back to Baltimore just so I can grab a Gyro or Pizza from here.

As far as Italian take-out places in any city, it's pretty run of the mill. It serves it's purpose as a great drunk food spot after a night in Fed Hill. The food is actually a bit above average, but the service is poor. Parking obviously is not really an option on Light street, so you better bring your walking shoes. The food also takes forever. I doubt I would ever seek out this place, although I wouldn't mind stumbling upon it at 2am. In summary: Good food Bad service 3-stars

This is based on pizza delivery which was fast, courteous and tasty. The pinapple was fresh tasting and the pizza nice and big. Came in less than 20 minutes which is pretty great. The guys that work there are nice. It is a good local favorite for drunken late night eating as well as home pizza delivery.

Italian sub on a hot day -- more like a delicacy than a traditional sub,...sublime taste of toasted bread, wrapping cold lettuce and tomatoes and great spicy sold cuts. Possibly best sub ever. You're going for the food on this one, not the atmosphere...

It's Friday night, 2 a.m. A young couple is grinding in the corner to a Rihanna song. A stranger with mascara running down her face approaches me with a smothering hug and tells me that I'm "Like, SO pretty right now." A gaggle of frat boys is pounding on the table, chanting, anxious to see how many pizza crusts Alex can fit into his mouth. I'm in the corner, huddled into my down jacket like a cocoon, clutching my order slip, willing the voice over the loudspeaker to squawk, "Number 98!" I am way too old for this. It used to be that Maria D's was the only late-night food available in Federal Hill. As the bars closed, streams of scantily clad girls stumbling on stilettos, accompanied by the bros that buy their Miller Lites and Jager Bombs, crowded into Maria D's and clamored for a slice of greasy pie. But now there are other options: a gourmet grilled cheese chop, crepes, burritos, Subway, and other pizza places. So why is Maria D's still a mob scene? The food is actually kinda good. It's cheap. It's fast. They've got variety. I'm that person who actually ordered a Greek salad at 2 in the morning, and it was large and satisfying for the price. Unfortunately, they forgot the dressing that I asked for three times. The pies come out quickly, and though they aren't incredibly flavorful or special, they hit the spot in that big-sliced, greasy, fold-it-to-eat-it way. The crust is good and it reheats well, so you might as well go with the 18-incher, because it will be excellent for breakfast the next morning.

Finally got the food. Pizza was surprisingly good, Cheesesteak was okay, wait times still inexcusable. Also $1 for fountain drink refills.

New to the area, hungry, and Maria D's is close by. I tried 1 slice of pizza and a chicken cutlet sandwich. What I was expecting sandwich wise wasn't what I got. The chicken was a thick, deep fried cutlet. Both were blah. The girl at the counter was nice and the gentleman with her, I presume the owner, kept raving about the food and said if I didn't like the sandwich, I could bring it back. I did not. I will probably not go back no matter how convenient the location is.

The food here is pretty good. especially the pizza and their gyros! I have been coming here for years and I have never had a problem with customer service, my food or anything. They just recently started delivering which is pretty cool. I Like that it has outdoor seating even though I wish it was a little bigger and the inside is reasonable size too which is cool. Overall this is one of my favorite places to eat...period.

My husband has been taking us here since our college days! :) Awwww. Yes he would pick me up from campus to hang back in Baltimore. It would be late night and Maria D's was on the brain. :) Its been a while but we were here this weekend. The pizza is still perfect. The cheese is just different. I love the flavor. The size is pretty large. Certainly no Angelo's size, but it beats in taste every time! Service is basic. Its like you have to know the owner to get a smile out of him. :) But they are all kind and nice there. I've always been pleased leaving this place...and was delighted to still get the same feeling years later!

Very good pizza made to order. New York style pizza. Hand-tossed dough with fresh ingredients. Also make good, original style buffalo wings. Most of their business is takeout or delivery, but they do have a small dining area. "Momma" is your typical Italian pizzeria owner...a little gruff at first but keeps everything running smoothly.

After a late night of drinking, a girl was craving a slice of pizza! So I found this gem and walked in to soothe my cravings. Best idea ever, ordered a slice of pepperoni and cheese and it was ohhh sooo good! They were very fast and efficient to be dealing with a high volume of drunk people at one time. Surprisingly they appeared cleaner than most of the late night places I have visited in my drunken affairs. The staff from what I remember in my drunken haze, were very friendly. I would recommend stopping by if you have a drunken craving for carbs or just want a late night snack. They do offer other foods, other than just pizza.

Fast reliable pizza slices and good subs and fries. Always came here to get the birthday party pizzas as well. The gyros are a treat and they are HUGE. Great prices for the house-made pizza and the subs...and open SO LATE!

Food is mediocre. Gave me the wrong order and I asked them to deliver my order as I am not too far. An hour later someone called me and threatened that if I don't return a pizza she will double charge me. I told her she can come get her pizza and told her that I will never order again. She replied with "that's okay, you're just one customer". That's right, I am just one customer and I will tell every single person I know to never order from there again. Laughable customer service, I hope they go under soon.

There is nothing special about this place at all. I work from home so I am always looking for new places to order lunch from. I was advised that I should receive my order in 1 hour, which turned into 2 hours. When I called to ask about my order I was informed that the delivery man was sent out with the lunch rush which was 10 orders. I understand there is a lunch rush, but why would you have your delivery guy wait until all of the lunch orders are complete before sending him out. It would make more sense to send him out with a few at a time as I assume a majority of the orders will be going to the rather small federal hill area. When I finally received my order 2 hours and 15 mins later (I put my order in at 11:25 am) my food was cold and my sub which I was charged additional fees for toppings for did not have any of the toppings I requested and was charged for. All in all, I had heard good things about Maria D's but I had a very disappointing experience. Perhaps it is different when you do not order delivery. I will not be ordering from them again.

Maria D's is the equivalent of Jumbo Slice in Adams Morgan, DC but not as good. It's perfect for late night, after the bar pizza. It's always pretty crowded in there with drunk people. I don't know how the people that work there deal with all those crazy kids. (I've never been one of them by the way... hehe) It kinda sucks because when you order just 1 slice you can only order cheese, pepperoni or supreme. I've gotten the supreme before, it was OK. Nothing to special about it, wasn't super cheesy (and I like cheesy) and the flavors just weren't everything I wanted it to be. The pepperoni was better though, I don't know what it is about those greasy things but I love em'. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan of it. But, something tells me I'll be back.

  • Derrek M.

Absolutely nothing special about the food. Pizza is doughy and very bland. The subs are just OK but not worth the wait for their price. It's nothing more than a drunk food stop after a night out. Really wish there was a better option in the area for pizza by the slice.

    (2)
  • Gary L.

I can't say I liked their sandwiches, pizza or service. I think if you're drunk or really hungry, it helps. I've been twice but no more.

My husband was always a much bigger fan of this place than I was, but the last time I came in here they started charging for tap water. While not technically illegal, it's still inhospitable as hell.

  • Kristen M.

Okay, so I realize you don't go to Maria D's for the food or the service. But, really, when you order a cold cut sub, don't you expect it to consist of something besides bread and meat? We made the mistake of not checking our order before leaving, and when we got back to our hotel room, we were so disappointed to find a completely naked sub. No lettuce, no tomato, no mayonnaise on the sub that I ordered--WITH EVERYTHING!!! So, that sucked. And the pizza is crap here. It's great at 2AM when you are buzzed and have the munchies. But take that same pizza and try to eat it in the light of day, and you'll be disturbed that you actually eat this stuff (with abandon) when drunk. And the people there are rude no matter what time of day you go, so I can't even give them a break for the attitude at 2AM. So, enjoy your 2AM pizza, but you might want to check ANYPLACE else out if you are looking for food at 2PM.

I received a flyer in my mailbox from this place and decided to give it a try on delivery. I absolutely loved the roast beef club and old bay wings I ordered. The next day I ordered a fish and chips platter and a steak pizza which was good as well! Now on to the problem. Delivery food arrived in 35 minutes both times which is pretty good right? About 20 minutes after I finished my food the second time I got a call from this establishment stating that they will not deliver to me again and I was to far away. I checked and my apartment is only 1.62 miles away. My question is how could they have delivered my fully cooked food in under 45 minutes if I was to far away? I would like to add I did not order during rush hour each time, and I tipped the driver 20% on both orders. For this moron to actually call me and tell me this was really rude, idiotic, insulting and not to mention terrible for business! I hope he sees this review...You are an asshole sir and just lost a 100$ a week customer!

Yum! This is a little mostly take out place. I grew up in Boston, but I live in Indiana, so when I saw an eggplant parm sub on the menu here, I had to give it a try, subs in Indiana=Subway. Maria D's did not disappoint. I had a very nice greek salad, house made half tea/half lemonade and an eggplant parmesan sub. I was late for pick up and called to let them know. They waited and finished it up when I got there. The sub was really super yummy; great sauce, perfect bread, as good an eggplant parm sub as I have ever had. It was a pretty good walk from the hotel I stayed in, but totally worth it, I only wish they delivered to Indianapolis! :)

When I used to live in MD and would go out boozing in Fed Hill this was my fave late night food joint. It's a small Greek restaurant that has good greasy drunk food as well. Luckily this time around it wasn't crowded as it was during the week after Christmas. We arrived close to closing time but they didn't rush us out as we sat down and gorged on pizza, mozzarella sticks, broccoli bites, & a Philly cheesesteak. I had a bite of my friend's cheesesteak and it was tasty. The meat was thinly sliced and they didn't overpower it with too much mayo. I also had a slice of my other friend's pizza and that was alright (won't win awards but not terrible). The broccoli bites are my fave. A perfect fried gooey treat. The mozzarella sticks are probably frozen and Sisco brand but who cares they do the trick when hungry. I noticed I was charged .25 for tap water. I left a tip on the card but they didn't process it as such they left it off altogether. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area and it's 1:45 am. :-)

Maria D's food is pretty good. I was a little mad when I had earned enough points online to get a free 18 inch pizza and had to have a $12 order for it to be delivered. I had called them that day about it and the way they handled the entire situation was very bad. Their customer service is very poor. They have a tough time with customer service and seem to ignore that part of their business. I will give them three stars instead of two because the quality and taste of their food exceeds my expectations. Just don't ever expect a thank you or have a nice day from these guys.

I've heard that Maria's is known for their subs but this review is only for their pizza. I've had pizza twice thus far in Baltimore and so far the city is 0 for 2. I went on a date with a guy who swears by this place and really wanted to help redeem a previous bad experience at another pizza joint. He got an A for heart but Maria D's didn't do it for me. The pizza was fair. A notch above Papa John's and Domino's but that's nothing to really brag about if you ask me. In fact, I think comparing it to either of those would probably make people stay away from it (if they were smart). I'm all for supporting a hole-the-wall but greasy, stale, lukewarm pizza isn't my idea of good food.

My friends were sooooo stoked to come here for late night because it is apparently their standard joint as well as the rest of Baltimore. After I go out, I am not really looking for something to really blow me away with flavor or quality. I just want something greasy and delicious that tastes pretty ok. Once we made it through the throng of people blocking the entrance and the counter I was able to place my order for half a steak sandwich. It cost $9 and change! Seriously? Once I paid I figured I ought to be getting some quality sandwich for such a steep price but I was sadly disappointed. The sandwich was not all the good, the pizza did not look very appetizing, and the wings were just standard.

Got a cheesesteak sub around 3:00 pm. Good sub, but nothing special. Although the sub roll was good, there was not a lot of meat on the sub as it felt very light. I would come back and eat here again though.

  • Joel C.

I was here late from a late flight and this place was recommended to me by my taxi driver. I got the meat lovers calzone which is gigantic way too much for one person. The bread was good and the meat had good flavor, but the cheese is terrible very dry and cold. The marinara sauce was also straight from a can. Also, the person taking the phone calls needs a better attitude they were very rude. I would try this place again but I get a sub next time.

Solid non-fancy pizza. I know that's not much of a description but it pretty much sums up Maria D's. I wouldn't call their pizza memorable but it's quite good for the price. Expect long lines if you come here late at night on a weekend.

Come on people! Really 5 star reviews?? You couldn't pay me to put this food in my body again. If you care anything about taste or nutrition you won't even consider eating here. If I'm going to eat something this unhealthy it damn well better be heavenly delicious. The pizza has pools of grease just swimming on top of the cheese. A stack of napkins won't sop it all up. We ordered pizza from here on a Monday night at 8 pm. It took an hour an 15 minutes to get to our house less than a mile away. When the pizza got here it was cold and my Greek salad had a honey mustard type dressing. I called an informed them that the pizza was cold and he told me that he would send the delivery drier back to get the pizza and make another one to being back to us. I informed him that after an hour ad fifteen minute wait I would put it in the broiler. The worker said so your eating the pizza well he wasn't putting the money for the pizza back on the card. He was rude and the pizza and a salad was 40 bucks. Let me just tell you I am a hormonal pregnant woman who gets mean when I'm hungry and they are lucky I didn't walk up there to bring them their pizza. Don't order from here there customer service sucks they will screw up your order and the pizza is over priced.

Good place to go grab some snacks late at night after hitting the bars. The place is packed at 1-2am Friday and Saturday nights. I always get the curly fries here. Taste amazing.

Nothing like a Ny pizza, but Maria D's is actually pretty good. The pizza is tasty and I love the cheese steaks. Try the barbecue chicken pizza!

  • Hansoo J.

    (3)
  • Eldridge And Nachtman L.

The pizza is good, but I would only eat there during the day. If you go at night, it is filled with drunken fraternity types, who argue with any patron standing in close proximity to them. The place has no control beyond the desk, nor do they even try to provide security. For decent pizza, you can suffer through it!

    (4)
  • D G.

Food is average. Have been a few times, each time they assume I'm one of their status quo (intoxicated) patrons, and tack on some minor, albeit bogus, charge.

Italian sub on a hot day -- more like a delicacy than a traditional sub,...sublime taste of toasted bread, wrapping cold lettuce and tomatoes and great spicy sold cuts. Possibly best sub ever. You're going for the food on this one, not the atmosphere...

Do not expect brilliance, but for a local, hot cheese on bread pizza place it's pretty spot-on.

Best cheese pizza ever! Drink Half and Half with it - half lemonade/half iced tea. Delicious! Not friendly or warm service, but quick and good!

Whoo hoo!

    (3)
  • Derrek M.

Absolutely nothing special about the food. Pizza is doughy and very bland. The subs are just OK but not worth the wait for their price. It's nothing more than a drunk food stop after a night out. Really wish there was a better option in the area for pizza by the slice.

Good place to go grab some snacks late at night after hitting the bars. The place is packed at 1-2am Friday and Saturday nights. I always get the curly fries here. Taste amazing.

Food is average. Have been a few times, each time they assume I'm one of their status quo (intoxicated) patrons, and tack on some minor, albeit bogus, charge.

  • Samantha E.

  • Bill L.

Only giving two stars because the pizza was decent at best. Very overpriced for bland pizza and subs... The service is horrible. Don't bother calling to place an order for takeout because the girl who normally answers the phone is beyond rude. Also, she is very rude when you go in to pick up your order. If they had better service it might be worth the price, but unfortunately they do not. Save yourself the hassle and just order from Dominoes. Pizza's better and they deliver it right to your door for cheaper than what you will pay at Maria's to walk there and pick it up yourself and deal with awful service.

    (2)
  • Pascal P.

Solid non-fancy pizza. I know that's not much of a description but it pretty much sums up Maria D's. I wouldn't call their pizza memorable but it's quite good for the price. Expect long lines if you come here late at night on a weekend.

  • Stormie I.

The sauce tastes like spaghetti sauce straight from a can and the cheese is almost inedible. You could scrape all that off and eat the soggy dough but why bother. If you must eat at 2 AM Federal Hill has better options.

Best pizza, gravy fries and iced tea in Maryland. I have been eating here since I was a child. NY style pizza is amazing! Staff is always so polite and nice.

I did not have the pizza but a sub. It was good. It was a cheesesteak and a reasonable attempt since we were not in Philly.

The pizza is good, but I would only eat there during the day. If you go at night, it is filled with drunken fraternity types, who argue with any patron standing in close proximity to them. The place has no control beyond the desk, nor do they even try to provide security. For decent pizza, you can suffer through it!

Best cheese pizza ever! Drink Half and Half with it - half lemonade/half iced tea. Delicious! Not friendly or warm service, but quick and good!
