This is probably the WORST delis I've ever been to. The location is great but the restaurant is dingy, at best. The food was appallingly bad. I didn't think it was possible to kill matzoh ball soup, but they did it. Amazing. The staff seem bored and disinterested. You'd think they'd figure out this place sucks, given how few people their were at Lenny's when I was there, compared to a huge crowd at the nearby Cheesecake Factory. This place would be a perfect candidate for the show Restsurant Impossible.

I've had corned beef sandwiches at both Attman's and Lenny's and think they both know how to make an A+ sandwich. In my opinion the real difference between the two places is the restaurant size. Lenny's deli is huge and Attman's a bit on the small size. I'd rather go somewhere where I'm able to find a table to sit and enjoy my food so that's why I favor Lenny's. If you go be sure to also try their hot dogs! They wrap them with salami and smother them with sour kraut. One word, Awesome!

I got the New Yorker. Half corned beef, half pastrami. It was about $7.50 with no sides. No doubt, the sandwich was served hot, the meat was good, and it tasted delicious. However, if you come, be prepared to speak loud and fast, and know what you want on your sandwich. They don't have a list of what you'd like to put on your sandwich and with their aggressiveness and impatience, it can be a bit nerve-wracking. My friend only ended up with meat and horseradish on her sandwich because she was pressured to hurry up and order. Another -1 star comes from the fact that after I did order my extra toppings on my salad, I heard the worker make fun of my order to the other employee. I am not an expert with what toppings go to specific sandwiches, but I do know what I like to eat on my sandwiches. There is a lot of seating area, with picnic style bench tables but I feel they could definitely improve on making the place look more inviting.

We have been coming here since I was a child and it was still Jack's. The corned beef is phenomenal. The inside could stand to be updated and the neighborhood is a little suspect. But it is soooo worth it to eat here.

Dont let the area scare you Corned beef on rye with swiss and mustard is the name of the game here. That all you need to know about this place. They have been doing it forever.

Although not in the best neighborhood, that is not why I probably won't go back. I've been in dives - that's not the problem here. We went in thinking this might be one of those jewels hidden in the ore. Rather, the place just feels greasy; despite attempts by the owners to the contrary. To be fair, the Reuben I had was tasty, the sauerkraut actually grilled to remove moisture and to impart a little sweetness. And the rye bread was grilled a long time too, not burned, and served in parchment wrapper. But the fries were precooked sitting in a warmer, the potato salad bland for a deli, and drink selection limited to standard fountain or bottled drinks-none of the deli style drinks found throughout the Northeast. Bottom line - nothing to compel us to return, particularly since the tab for 3 was over $30.

I'm kind of surprised this place hasn't been reviewed yet. I mean it's not as charming...Hmmmmm, if charming is indeed the right word...or as venerable as the nearby landmark Attman's, but it does have a parking lot! The corned beef is arguably as good here: a bit more buttery, but with less flavor. The desserts, unfortunately, are equally execrable (as Attman's). The service is faster, but there are much less interesting menu options and less in the way of visual stimulation unless you are a fan of a sort of scuzzy cafeteria atmosphere. I have to admit that can sometimes float my boat. That having been said if you're walking or know how to parallel park, definitely head on over to Attman's. 3.5 stars rounded down!

I've been going to Lenny's for years. I have to say that as far as corned beef is concerned they have the best sandwiches around. Not being a mayo eater, the Ruben with mustard is a personal favorite. Yummy buttered and toasted rye bread, filled with delicious corned beef and topped with swiss cheese and a touch of mustard...I'm going there today. As far as ambiance and location, can't fault the city for changing. The once historic corned beef row is now just a pittance of what it once was. Would be nice to see it built up again, but very unlikely. Considering all that, it is still the same inside as it has been for years. Reminds me of a New York deli with about 10x the room. All I can ask for is it is clean and comfortable (which it is). If you are looking for a full sandwich with lots of flavor, don't think of going anywhere else. It's a real treat! Oh and try the western fries and rainbow cake!

Better & cheaper than Jacks! Here's the inside scoop on Lombard St. You have a choice of the big two - Lennys and Attmans. BOTH are excellent. Lennys just has better parking, quicker lines and leaner corned beef. (Check out the regular corned beef on the 2nd slicer compared to the lean corned beef on the first slicer. You can usually save the 'lean' upgrade.

I stopped by here quite on accident, when I was in Baltimore last go though, and I while I found the pace a bit sketchy upon entry I was incredibly impressed with the reuben I got. I would go back, but I generally go to Baltimore specifically for crab cakes.

Pretty bad food, and way overpriced. Tried to order a combo but he still overcharged by doing it by the item. Register guy was so unpleasant that I figured the extra few bucks was worth not having to talk to him. Fries were gross and if this is the best corned beef in town.... Find a burger.

Price too high for that kind of management and food quality ! First impression is limited ! They should have the new remodeling the whole entire place !

stopped here because i didn't want to wait in a long line at Attmans. What a mistake! Basic corned beef is way over priced and hardly any beef. There's no character here any more. I gave half my sandwich to the guy outside asking for money. Go to Attmans!

Stopped in here on my way home because I was in the area. Figured I'd grab a corned beef sandwich. The meat is great and tasty. Not too salty and doesn't seem like it's bloated with water. Rye bread seemed fresh enough. First the bad: 1) The price. $8.95 for a corned beef sandwich that is on two regular size pieces of wonder bread? Give me a break. I could've went to Safeway and bought the same equivalent amount of meat to make 5 sandwiches. 2) The girl who took my order thought I said I wanted 6 sandwiches. What in the hell? I only found this out after I saw the guy making multiple of what looked what I ordered. So I told him "Hey I only wanted one, I hope you dont think the rest are mine (nor was I going to pay for them)." He seemed upset that he had to rush making the sandwiches but not at me - the stupid girl working next to him. 3) Did I mention the price? There is no way any of this should cost more than $6 4) Free parking consists of 5 spaces 5) Similar to Attman's or whatever the hell it's called less than a block away, This place accepts food stamps or whatever garbage the state of MD is providing in terms of supplemental nutritional coupons. Being such, this place drags in the lowest of the low, ghetto people, who think they own the place and take forever to order, or wont get the hell out of the way. I don't want some bum to ask for change or if I could help him pay for his food. My taxes are already paying for his damn food. If anything he should be paying for mine. The Good: 1) The place isn't in that bad of a spot. Towards the rear of little Italy and right next to some ghetto ass school. See #5 above. 2) the food actually tastes good. 3) Plenty of room to sit down 4) I don't think anyone would get mugged here in this area. Most likely stabbed though. I'll never be back or recommend this place to anyone.

I went in and ordered something I've gotten at the Pikesville Lenny's about 100 times, a tuna melt. It's a bagel open faced with tuna and melted cheese on top. I order, and I see the guy get a bagel and cut it. Then he microwaves some tuna on a piece of paper towel with cheese on it, takes it out- and of course it's a melted mess. Then he tries to put in on the bagel, upside down. He says "I guess the cheese will be on the bottom...". He knew he did something wrong, and I honestly felt bad for the guy, really bad. I said I'll pass. He told me "what else could I do, otherwise the bagel would get soggy!". He looked pretty sad. I tried to explain that he could 1) toast it, 2) steam it in a sandwich maker, etc. But he didn't get it, tried to microwave it and put it together with the cheese melted on the bottom which he peeled off of a microwaved paper towel. Pathetic. I walked out and didn't pay and left this sorry excuse for a tuna melt on the counter, the guy just didn't get it, but it looked like he might cry when I left. Sorry, this place is falling apart.

Lenny's is an old school sandwich shop. No fancy decor, but not as greasy as some might imply. You go here for what's on the sandwich. The Lean Corned Beef is one of the best in Baltimore. So good, I can't bring myself to order anything else when I go there... and I've started to visit regularly. The potato salad is surprisingly good too. No frills, but plenty of seating and great parking for a place in the city. It's clean... and the food is awesome. If you want pretty dinning, go to the modern chains... if you want GREAT content in your sandwich, eat here.

Drove by here several times and was wondering what was inside. Expected to see a grocer but got a huge cafeteria instead. Couldn't resist to try the "Lombard Street's Tradition" and test their sandwich especially now after going to Attman's. While their Corned Beef sandwich was very good (but not quite as good as Attman's), prices felt high for the amount of sandwich received, the place lacks fun factor, and the hours are only working man's business hours which means you can't even pick up a sandwich to go home with you unless you buy it at lunch or get off work early. I really can't see why I would go back with the other guy down the street.

Four star corned beef sandwiches! When you walk in you feel that you are in a high school cafeteria line. The service is okay and the people are friendly. The other food items that I have tried are mediocre. Now back to what they do best... The corned beef sandwiches are moist and tender but not too fatty. Definitely among the top picks for corned beef in the area. Sandwiches are a nice full size that will fill you up. Be sure to pick one up if you are in the area. They have tables to dine in but it's kind of a dive.

A very basic ham & cheese sandwich cost me $8.39. Nothing on it but mustard & it came on plain sliced bread. On top of that the staff was rude.

The absolute worst Cornedbeef sandwich I have ever had . There wasn't one full slice of meat on the sandwich. It was all pieces of over cooked crumbs and gristle. Just look at the picture. Absolutely disgusting !!!

Prices are a bit expensive and the wi-fi wasn't working, but they still make a delicious sandwich and their steak fries are perfect, if you like really big cuts of potato. This is a classic Baltimore deli with cafeteria style seating and a separate line for ordering. Some days they can be really busy, other days you will be one of a handful of people in the place, not sure why.

Went around 345 pm to get soup to fight sinuses and they said the soup was put away. They close at 5.
