Ahh...my quick ghetto donut fix....right next to my favorite ghetto Chinese (see China Wok) in an oddly suburban-style strip mall just up from North Avenue....During day, full of all types of folks-- office workers, construction workers from all the contractor-type places in the area, cops, random neighborhood people, junkies....but all in all, a decent place, friendly staff, standard-issue yummy-bad-for-you donuts, good bagels, strong, decent mild-roast coffee.... But after 5...I learned the hard way, picking up donuts for my AM meeting the next day...(yeah, OK, not fresh-- but I didn't want to be late, and a day-old donut is far, far better than NO donut!)....it transforms... Scantily clad young woman saunters up to me so close you couldn't fit a dancin' pole between us...."You want to buy me a donut" (wink, wink, smile) Me- "NO".."You want to buy me a donut and talk?" "NO" (now she looked sad, but wants SOMETHING) "How about you just give me a dollar" "NO"-- finally the large man that came in with her said, "Honey, leave the man alone-- donuts make you get the diabetes..." and they left.... Given the North Avenue Motel is but a block away, I realized what had happened... After 5, it turns from Dunkin' Donuts to .....DUNKIN' HO-NUTS...... (and who knew pimps could be so health-conscious! Must have been her health plan.....)

The service was good but my donuts were stale and it was 11am... I know that Dunkin isn't known for their "gourmet" donuts and I'm okay with that. Even a donut aficionado such as myself needs a quick fix every now and then. Unfortunately this just wasn't it. I took one bite and the rest went into the bin... Just wasn't worth the extra calories. :/

Always good, hot coffee and nice service. I don't eat the donuts, so I can't review those. I strongly dislike the location. Some of the people in the area are sketchy... I have yet to come here and not have a miscellaneous person standing near my car. I wouldn't ever come here after dark. or advice anyone else to do so.

I have never been on the Dunkin' Donuts is AH-Mazing! bandwagon. This is possibly because I don't actually like donuts all that much. Also, I recently learned that the reason their coffee is "so good" is because of the cream and sugar. But, I take my coffee like I take my presidents. So, I am not reviewing anything of the fried dough variety. Here is the breakdown of why this Dunkin' is 4, when others get a 3. 1. Location--There isn't much to offer in the nether region located between Mount Vernon and Charles Village, but this DD is smack in the middle. 2. Service--I wouldn't say I normally go to a place like Dunkin' Donuts for great service, but the staff here could make The Flash do a double take. 3. Clarity--They always make sure to clarify your order when they take it and when they are giving it to you, which is a rare compliment to speedy service.

Dry donuts and often a weak selection. Some days you'd be lucky to get some regular glazed donuts. The hot chocolate was decent enough if you've got a craving.
