Those ribs! Fall of the bone, melt in your mouth tender! Just writing about it makes me want to run down and get some more. They were delicious - I highly recommend them. Our kids enjoyed their lunches too. Each kids meal includes a choice of three side dishes and they thought that was just awesome. Their fruit kebabs were too cute. My only gripe: the cornbread. I have to admit, I was pretty excited when they brought out fresh, warm cornbread. But - it was mixed with regular cake batter. It tasted like vanilla cake. Cornbread is already sweet enough; it was too much. That's just my opinion though because my son thought it was the best cornbread ever.

Came on Father's Day around 5 PM, called ahead & didn't really have to wait to be seated but it took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged by our waiter Jonathan and then another 5 or so before he came over to take our drink orders. The restaurant was busy but there were still ample available seats. After taking our drink (water) and appetizer order, the Americano Nachos, we waited another 10 or so minutes before he came back to offer cornbread. Disappointed that the cornbread was cold and the cinnamon butter so hard that it was challenging to spread on the cornbread that easily crumbled. The nachos finally arrived and it was worth the wait. A mix of crispy creole chips and some loaded with chili, salsa and cheese. A very tasty, but probably not healthy treat! I asked if the fish in the fish tacos could be grilled vs fried and Jonathan said "yes". Hubby ordered the baby back ribs, sweet potatoe fries and cole slaw. We grazed on our app and it probably took another 20 min for our entrees to arrive. Immediately I could see that my fish was fried and so did Jonathan when he came over. He asked if I "could" eat it and I said yes but would have preferred it grilled. I kept it so hubby didn't have to wait for my entree to be re-made. The tacos were a little cold, corn tortilla kinda dry and chewy at the same time. My side dish of sticky rice was good. Hubby was served 1/2 racks of ribs, one very tender and one "ok". Fries tasted heavy. We had a coupon for a free appetizer and showed it to Jonathan, he acknowledged it but when he brought the tab it did not deduct the cost of the appetizer and he was nowhere to be found. We waited for a bit so I did the math myself left cash ...and we left. Gave it a second chance and I think it's our last. Sorry, would prefer Burton's!

Great food with a large variety to choose from their menu with decent prices to boot. Would definitely go back here to eat. Just a warning as the place is a bit noisy and as we were leaving (8PM), they had someone setting up for live music. Just a warning for people who like a quite place to eat.

Excellent craft beer selection, sub-par food. Ordered a burger that was obviously frozen, not seasoned at all with onion rings that were a bit under done. Bar tender was a nice enough guy.

I am on the road often and look for great places with good food, fair prices and good service. This place has it all. I had the homemade Hummus. Awesome smooth flavor. Entree was Grilled Turkey Tips. Great grill flavor, rice was cooked just right and the corn cobs were incredibly flavorful. You must try this place if your within 15 - 20 minutes of it!! Great atmosphere and good service.

Food was decent. Nothing to write home about. Tried their ice tea and it was delish! So wasn't the smashed potatoes for an app. The skillet cookie came out cold and our waitress wasnt very attentive. Overall C rating. Would eat here again but wouldn't go out of my way.

Revisited Red Heat Tavern today. Prices have increased, yet food quality and portions have stayed the same. On the plus side, service was ok, they are now using correct glassware and they've added an outdoor patio. Though, we were eaten alive by mosquitos since there are no measures in place to handle that issue. Overall, I am still not impressed. This place seems to be mobbed most weekends and I am not sure why. Odds are that nothing will change since whatever they are doing seems to be working for them.

This is my new favorite local restaurant because it gets all the important things right. It's huge so there's rarely a wait. They have good beers on draft, better beers in bottles/cans, and a great cocktail list. There is a good selection on the menu and everything is affordable. Also, they are extremely accommodating with gluten allergies and have a dedicated fryer. We have been here 4 times in the last 4 weeks and each time the service was great, the food was delicious and I left wondering what I would try next time.

The food was excellent, so flavorful and savory. The staff are attentive, friendly, and helpful. I loved the Wild Cat Fries and Thai Sweet Chili Wings. Also, their music selection is great.

I don't understand why there's so much hate on this place. I mean, it's not excellent, but it's not awful either. NOT SO GOOD I think It's a bit too loud in there, but nothing horrible either. The manager could dress up a bit more. That "bare" chest look isn't too professional. THE GOOD - I've tried the steak tips, steak house salad, Chipotle chicken salad and Read Heat chicken meals. All good. - Actually, the steak house salad was great, though they forgot to add the avocados described in the menu. -The silverware, plates and glasses are of good quality. I hate those places where they give you silverware you know you can break or bend without much effort! - The service was great. The waiter was very polite and prompt to take our order, they also use electronic devices to take your order and charge your card, which i think is a great idea. I like being able to keep an eye on my card. Overall, I like this place and I think you should give it a try!

Finally ate at the tavern today for late lunch. A rare day off. Place was almost empty. Sat at the large bar with good TV's. My bartenders name was 981 AM Bar. Thought that was a strange name but went with it. I ordered a beer and decided on the barbeque burger of coarse. Ordered it medium rare and it came out perfectly cooked. Coleslaw was fresh made. I think it had a yogurt based dressing which was different but good. Burger was crusty on the outside and beefy and juicy on the inside. A way above average burger. The menu is a little different than most american food places. Asian inspired comfort food cooked in the fancy charcoal oven. Looking forward to trying other stuff on menu.

Went here with about 13-15 co-workers for a retirement party. We ordered a bunch of apps, the only I tasted was the smashed potato skins, which were good. I had the Mediterranean Melt sandwich, how can you mess that up?!?! They didn't, plenty of cheese and I loved the thick, grilled sourdough bread. I suggest getting a side of bacon horseradish mayo to dip your fries in YUMMY!!! I do not recall our server's name, but she was attentive and friendly; she even stopped to chat about my beer choice (Cisco Whales Tale) and gave me extra mayo with my leftovers! I like the open atmosphere in both the dining room and kitchen; I will definitely visit the new location opening up in Bedford this fall.

Just moved to town from Worcester, that has restaurants galore. Now, basically living in, where I think is, the middle of nowhere; there are not many good restaurant options. This place is a godsend. Great selection of food and drink in an inviting environment. 3 of 4 times I've come here it's been a pretty tame night or day. Service has been attentive and on point. That fourth time was on a busy night; drinks didn't get refilled without us waving someone down, our appetizer never made it to the table (with no apology, or acknowledgment from a manager[he probably didn't know]), and the service was far from attentive. I'll continue to go on non-Friday/Saturday/sporting event nights because there isn't another place like it in town. Highly recommended from an ex-restaurant manager.

Been here 2-3 times. Great beer selection, decent menu. I was thinking of going with 3 stars, but bumped to 4 for two reasons - the Wildcat Fries and the cornbread. Holy crap those two things are good. The rest of the food is okay - not bad, not great. The onion rings my buddy got were slightly under-cooked, for instance. I'd say that was the only thing sub-par, everything else was fine. But the wildcat fries and the cornbread with honey butter - they are so ridiculously good. Just those two things will bring me back repeatedly.

Went on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn't too busy. The cornbread to start was very good. We ordered: Creole potatoes chips, burger, chicken sandwich and the tips. Everything was very good. Bacon was cooked perfectly! If you like medium steak or burgers order them rare cause medium was over cooked. The bacon onion dip with the potatoes chips was devoured! Place was clean and its always awesome when you van see the kitchen! Will def go back.

Prices are high Service is slow. Why 4 stars? The Farnhouse Burger was the best burger I've had in months. My second time here - same experience relative to price/service/food so if you can get by the first two, you'll likely be rewarded with some good grub.

The cornbread comes with this cinnamon sugar butter that I wish I could buy by the bucket. Got fried chicken for dinner. Came with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, all covered with shite gravy and scallions. It was wicked good.

We went here for the second time the other night. The wait time was quick. The booth was a little snug and I'm a skinny girl. Our server brought us cornbread with honey butter which was delicious. We started with the chicken quesadilla as an appetizer. They were pretty good. I ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The ribs were fall apart tender with a good flavor, the mash potatoes tasted good but seemed like they were whipped, giving the texture of instant potatoes. Not bad, just a personal preference of mine that they taste better mashed. Overall a nice place to go out to eat. I would go back.

Went for lunch last week. Lunch was great and came out really quickly, which is a massive plus when you only have 45 minutes. Service was ok, but I think our waitress was in training (there was another waitress lingering near our table every time our waitress approached us.) Overall we'll be back.

My grandmother was taken here for lunch today by my cousin and his wife. Gram doesn't eat much so she had left overs and she gave me a bite of it. The salad was with grilled chicken and while I am not a big fan of spicy, the chicken had enough to heat in it for the right amount of flavor.

Came in her for dinner tonight with my boyfriend- ate at the bar and had a great time. All of the bartenders were wonderful especially Jo (female)! Fried pickles- good but they are bread and butter so taste a little different then the norm Wild cat fries- excellent! Fried chicken plate- my boyfriend got this and I am regretting that I didn't. It was soo good the gravy is amazing Turkey panini- it was good but nothing spectacular. If you go definitely try a real entree and not a sandwich- everything looked amazing Also got a side of Mac and cheese- I'm not a huge pasta person and it was amazing! Great drinks as well : ) Very affordable- two apps two meals a side and three drinks $73 Check it out!

Just had a fabulous lunch here. The menu is 100% better than it was when they first opened. I had a great sandwich, my daughter loved her mac & cheese from the kids' menu, my son got a beautiful salad and my husband enjoyed yummy tacos. We also had the hot pretzels for an appetizer and I couldn't get enough of the cheese sauce. Service was superb! We will be back soon! Excellent!

Don't understand why people keep going here. We weren't fond of it the first time we went but like to give second chances. The second time was even worse. They squeezed us into a tiny table next to a family with 3 kids running around when the place wasn't even busy and there were plenty of open tables not so cramped. We asked to move closer to the bar and they acted like we were being really difficult. Then they brought us the cornbread which tastes good but fell apart into crumbs in my hand. It was like trying to pick up sand. Our meals were only ok. I could have gotten a better, juicer burger down the street at the 9's for less money and better service. And then my husband ordered a 2nd drink that he never received. The atmosphere isn't very inviting to us. I feel like I'm at a cheap bar trying to hide it with higher prices. All in all we will not go back. Not worth the money.

First try of newly opened restaurant. Called a tavern, but not really. Food experience was great. All fresh and cooked on site. Varied menu. Excellent beer and wine selection. Great location with plenty of parking. Great bar set up in middle of room. Will be back with friends!!

We've been twice, and both times I've had to send my meal back to have it re-cooked because apparently whoever is on the grill doesn't know how to get a piece of meat to come out medium-rare. Tonight I sent my steak back for being overdone, and it came back raw in the middle, which to me is a big "Fuck You" from the chef. Won't be back for a third visit.

We had a good experience on our visit to RHT. We ordered the Thai Chili Bone-In Wings to start and they were excellent... slightly sweet with a good heat level cooked to a good crust on them. Simply delicious and addictive. The Short Rib Mac and Cheese was creamy and flavorful - "This is amazing!" The Josper Fired Ribs were cooked to perfection and I appreciated that the sauce was on the side. This style of ribs allows you to taste the meat with the option of smothering them in sauce if desired. Smart. The BBQ sauce has a higher-than-average heat level that I certainly appreciated. Fries and slaw were perfect sides prepared well. I had two tallboys of a tasty IPA called Southern Tier IPA out of New York. The brew had a ABV 7.3% and great nose... it was sweet, bitter, and great with ribs. Instant fan. Service: The hostess seemed a bit moody and could use some work on her "Pan Am Smile" - though our server was as good as you could expect: friendly, attentive, expeditious, and not over-bearing. We tipped her well. The ambiance is modern and upscale casual. The entire place, including the restrooms, was clean and well cared for. There is generous parking and plenty of seating. I would definitely recommend this establishment and we plan on trying much of the menu. Keep up the good work!

I just recently moved to the area and have been here 4 times already! The food is great! Fish tacos are perfect! All the appetizers are filling it makes hard to finish your meal, the wings are really burning hot so be careful if your not into spicy. Their dressings are are homemade and deliousious. Trivandrum nights are also pretty fun. I can't wait to go and enjoy the outdoor seating and spicy margarita!

Tuesday night was my 3rd time going to Red Heat. 1st visit was great. Lots of creative new food. Small menu. 2nd Visit, aweful we will give them a pass as a new place working out the bugs. 3rd visit. Was ok, great wings, strong drinks. The food overall was just average. So after 3 shots I am guessing Red Heat will fall under the category of average for me.

We ended up dining at Red Heat twice in about one month's time. First time we dined it was a real good experience. Unfortunately, we ended up there cause our town lost electricity during a bad tropical storm. But we wanted to visit this new restaurant anyway, and the opportunity arose. Our waitress was attentive, and knowledgable. We got our drinks promptly from the bar and the food came out if the kitchen reasonably quick. Our dinners were real tasty; I got the fish tacos and my husband the ribs. The three tacos were real good. They were crisp and the acidity was spot on. My husband's ribs seemed like they were made with a good dry rub, and they were super good. The sides that came with it were just as delicious and my husband was real happy. Our second visit was a totally different experience. Our waitress this time was too busy to deal with us properly. We never got app plates, and ate calamari right from the dish which stunk. Our waitress didnt see us flag for her. Our drinks took forever which also stunk since two little girls who were thirsty were with us. My husband opted for the ribs again, but this time they seemed different.. Not as put together. I got the steak tips done medium. Which I just had to ask my husband what I had ordered cause they were less than memorable. Our second visit didn't leave me feeling like I wanted to go back anytime soon, which is a shame compared to our first visit.

Live Blues close to home! Thursday nights. Last night I sat and enjoyed a glass of beer, some munchies, and classic live blues by veteran Rickey King Russell and his band. I've seen him before. He was a regular at Smoken Joe's (RIP) which was, while it existed, a blues mecca in Boston. The band played everything from deep blues to blues that makes your feet move and your hands clap to the rhythm of their own accord. Kudos to the Restaurant for attracting talent of this caliber. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I agree with other reviewers that this restaurant is a standout in the area. I'll add a star if they add live music on the weekends.

Been there 3x. It's an overpriced ok. No cocktail menu. Lots of microbrews; cool, but microbrews are on a pullback, cocktails are on upsurge. With the beer emphasis & design, it's a major sausage factory. Not someplace a woman would be comfy going alone. Menu: Wow. All over the place and none of it good. No ID. Burgers w/fried egg, fish taco, steak, wings, ribs. The food is NOT memorable and the whoopie pie desert sucks. Filling is Market Basket grainy. It's not a tavern, not a pub, I think it wants to be a cool Austin type bar but misses mark by, well, from here to Austin. It's not cool or trendy, just confused.

Went to red heat for a paint night event so we thought we will go early and have some dinner! The food was good, started with the buffalo wings , nice heat and flavor. We shared a beet salad as an app , good but nothing special. My friend and I ordered the steak tip salads, both prepared great, mine med rare, hers med really good and the dressing was great , zippy lime flavor, other friend had the haddock which she thoroughly loved. The sangria was so good and I found out from the gm that they would be adding a white sangria to the menu!!!! Enjoyed the whoopie pies for desert , they are perfect for sharing! Then paint night began and we continued to enjoy the sangria while we were painting! Great fun spot in Wilmington , and I forgot to mention that they have a great outdoor patio where we enjoyed our meal !!!!

Okay. I gave myself some time away from Red Heat, hoping for them to get their system down and make some much-needed changes; I'd recently received a gift card and figured this would be my chance to have a great experience. Not gonna happen. First off, I must say, our server, Greg, couldn't have been better; he was great at explaining the Josper ovens, mentioned some changes made to the menu, and he was fairly attentive throughout. We started with the Buffalo chicken wings (we forgot to ask for boneless--our error) and the homemade chips and bacon/onion dip; The flavor of the wings was good, as was the vinegary blue cheese sauce (which could be thicker). The chips didn't excite me as they once did. I was with some beer drinkers, but I ordered the Lowell Street Punch...for $10, I got served an old-fashioned glass mostly filled with ice and about 1/4 cup of actual alcoholic punch. They need to reduce the ice and serve this in a highball glass. For $10, I'm almost at the martini price point, and I would have gotten a larger drink! The pick of the meals is definitely the meat loaf dinner; everything about it was great; the turkey pot pie was disappointing (overly seasoned with sage) and my miso salmon over jasmine rice was meh. The size of the salmon filet was overly large, but it was flavorless; the rice was unexciting and nothing in it had any distinctive flavors. We ordered the equivalent of plain chicken tenders ($11.95) and fries ($4.95) to-go for someone at home. I was shocked at the price of this for what we got. I've seen better at other establishments. The check total came to $120 (including the take-out chic) (there were 3 of us), $30 of which was alcohol. So, I have so wanted to like this place, but it just disappoints at every turn, at least for dinner. I think I'd enjoy just ordering drinks and sitting at the bar to watch a game.

Is not a tourist friendly.. Did not take passports. And the manager comes with the most arrogant attitude against me asking for credit card . Passport is a federal and international document . I understand perfectly he can take it but he didn't need to be arrogant because I didn't want to eat there what is food without a wine or beer .... I think he don't understand the concept of paring food & wine. But the end everything end fine because u had the most amazing service at the longhorn Tewksbury.

I just ate at RHT for the first time last week. I was totally impressed and all of us really enjoyed our meal. I was there with some friends for an early dinner on a Monday night. It was beautiful out, so we sat on the patio. We started by sharing nachos. They were very good. Big portion, could have easily split as an app for 4-5 people (we were three and did not finish). I had the Farmhouse Burger. It was truly an excellent burger, perfectly cooked, juicy, tons of flavor. Right up there with some of the best burgers I have had. The folks I was with had the Beet Salad, which was enjoyed and looked good. And the other had the steak salad. Also good. The cornbread they served gratis was awesome! Beer selection is great. All the staff were happy and friendly. Service was excellent. The building is really nice -- big bar, open kitchen, beautiful patio. For a casual meal -- with friends, family, for business, etc -- or to watch a game or just hangout, I highly recommend RHT.

I went here for dinner last night and had a great meal. We got here around 6PM and the bar area was jammed. I mean, it was Thursday but it looked like Friday type busy. We decided to sit away from the bar area to avoid the noise, and I am glad we did. By the way, the bar area did look really great and nicely laid out, so maybe will try that next time. We had the calamari for an appetizer, and it was really fantastic. It came with a Siracha(sp?) dipping sauce that had just enough kick to keep you coming back for more without being overly spicy. For the main course I had fish tacos, and they were perfect. Delicious crunchy fish with a sort of slaw type dressing. For a side I had the onion strings. They were crisp and not greasy like those things can sometimes be. Our server was right on it, and we never had to wait or ask twice for anything. For a newer establishment, if all the servers are like this guy, this place will do just fine in terms of customer service. I live locally, so will definitely put Red Heat Tavern in my rotation. See you next time.

Ironic how this place charges $14 for a burger when Burger King right next door charges $1. Kinda puts things in perspective for Wilmington restaurant goers who struggle to justify their overpriced burgers. There are a ton of beers here, however, which me and my dad enjoy to catch up, but generally we went here to try it once and haven't been back sadly. Burton's chain is better than their new red heat restaurant.

This place is amazing . The best food in the Wilmington, Burlington area in my opinion. I have eaten form here nearly 50 times since their opening and have never been dissapointed. I would recommend this place to everyone

Went to Red Heat on a Saturday for lunch and we liked it so much that we went back on Sunday for take out. On Saturday we took our two kids to have lunch at Red Heat. We ordered two appetizers, the creole potato chips and the pretzels. They were both excellent. The chips and dip were outstanding. For entrees we got the fried chicken and the steak. Again both meals were great. The service was good and attentive. I highly recommend that people give this place a try. Wilmington is in need of more good restaurants like Red Heat.

I start out by saying, I really wanted to love this place! I gave the restaurant a third try to redeem itself. The bottom line is this restaurant is too noisy! On my trip last night, the noise greeted us the minute we walked in the door. I convinced my boyfriend to give the restaurant another try. We went on a Wednesday for dinner (7 pm arrival time) instead of a Saturday. Also chose to go on the night with no live music...still did not make a difference. I do enjoy their food, but this is not the place to go if you want to hear your dinner date or the waitress for that matter. Seriously! We've decided this is our new take out restaurant only! Save yourself a trip to Wilmington and find yourself another restaurant for your next meal out.

Gave Red Heat a try on a Sunday afternoon, a little bit after they opened for lunch. I don't think the menu really classifies as tavern fare...It is expensive for what you get, and likely we won't be back. The beer and wine selection wasn't bad, and the waitress was friendly. Went with the BBQ cheeseburger, asked to cook medium- came totally over-cooked and past whatever well-done is. The BBQ sauce was bland, and barely perceptible - and clearly not homemade. Came with a heap of French fries, which appeared to come out of a previously frozen sack. If you can't cook a burger well...well....it's not worth coming back. My dining companion got a 12 dollar steak salad with what was advertised come with avocado, salsa verde, and homemade potato chips. Well, there were literally FOUR pieces of chips on the edges of the plate. There were 3 TINY steak tips, all cooked to varying levels of doneness --- well-done, medium, and rare. The salad wasn't even romaine - it was limp iceberg with sad cherry tomatoes (why not a pico de gallo?), three thin slices of avocados, and they forgot the salsa verde. There are literally three things to add to the salad - steak, avocado--- and they forget the third thing?? Good thing the dressing was ordered on the side - it was oddly thick and creamy, like a Russian dressing. They should dress it in a lime vinaigrette, use a fresh salsa, at least half an avocado, and at least five tips for a 12 dollar meal. The side of mac and cheese wasn't bad, but was not seasoned at all. Had to add salt and pepper, and it was on the dry side. We left with over a fifty dollar check and still hungry. This wasn't a busy time, the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed with orders, and the food they turned out shows a lack of inexperience, or perhaps, a lack of care for the quality of food. I suppose this place will get by on their bar scene. Not worth a wait for a dinner.

I held a small-ish corporate gathering at Red Heat Tavern for 30 of my co-workers. I emailed Red Heat Tavern a few weeks before the event - the managers (Steve and Giulio) got back to me in a matter of hours with answers to my questions and were so easy to work with! While they don't have a function room per say, we were able to corner off part of the restaurant from 2-530pm. The servers instantly greeted us and the food we discussed over email was coming out of the kitchen as soon as we arrived. We staggered some of the apps so that my co-workers had a steady stream of food for the afternoon. We ordered the chips and dip (to die for bacon and caramelized onion dip!), chicken quesadillas (nice heat from the peppers), hummus and chips as well as bone-in and boneless wings in 2 flavors. There wasn't a stitch of food left - so, so good! The main reason why I selected Red Heat Tavern was two-fold - location to our office and their beer selection. The list is extensive and had something for everyone! Go check out Red Heat Tavern when you get a chance - I don't think you'll be disappointed. Can't wait to go back!

Tried Red Heat for the second time after a disappointing experience a couple months after they opened. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server/bartender Melissa, was fun, informative, and attentive. I got the meatloaf sandwich with homemade tater tots, which Melissa recommended. Both were amazing. My girl got the boneless Thai chili wings and sweet potato fries which also hit the mark. Great atmosphere and pleasant staff. We are thrilled to have given Red Heat another shot and will definitely return.

My friends and I love coming to this restaurant. The food is good. The beer is good. It's the perfect place to stop when you're tired after work and want something to satisfy that long day hunger. The homemade chips and dip are incredible and a staple whenever we come here. The burgers are delicious but the tater tots could use some work. They're bland when you get down to it. Initially good and then you start to taste the bland. Service is quick and really attentive. We've never had to wait for a table. We're seated almost right away every time. I noticed some comparing the Burger King next door to the Red Heat Tavern. I mean if you don't have a preference for fake meat or real meat then you could go the cheaper route. However, the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere of this restaurant are definitely unparalleled to a fast food chain. Not to mention the RHT offers vegetarian AND gluten free options. Definitely worth a visit!

To start off, if the price was a little lower this rating would be much higher. Please keep that in mind while reading this review. Service - we had Danielle and she was superb. Very friendly and attentive. Expo - Good; appetizers came out in a timely manner and entrees arrived at the same time. Drinks - Beer selection was good for the folks that enjoy a nice variety of microbrews. Cocktails were only average. Sangria was more juice than wine. Food - pretty good. My ribeye was proper temp and had good seasoning. I was not a fan of the mango slaw on top. My wife's chicken was quite tasty. Value - needs improvement. Prices all around for non sandwich items were a few dollars over-priced. Two people with two drinks and one steak for $80 is a little steep for the quality and locale. Summary - we would return again but sparingly

My husband and I have been here a few times. The first time I would have given this place one star. It's noisy, the tables were so close together you might as well make friends with the person next to you, the service was awful and we thought the prices were a little high for what you got. We decided to try this place again a few months later. They completely changed their menu. The service is much better but it's still EXTREMELY loud. Tables are still right on top of each other. We just sat there in silence because the only way to communicate is to scream and let the whole place know what you're talking about. The food is pretty good...I've had a few different sandwiches, turkey tips, and my husband always orders some type of bbq or smoked meat. The food isn't too bad but still a little on the expensive side, mostly in regards to drinks. 2 drinks, 2 meals and an appetizer usually comes out to about $65 plus tip.

We have been back another couple times and still really like the place despite quite a few negative reviews. A couple new observations. Their kids menu is awesome. Many selections and each comes with a choice of 3 different sides! For a 2.5 year old, we got about 3 meals out of one meal. One negative, please change the tortillas for the fish tacos. The corn tortillas fall apart as soon as you lift up the taco. That is "no bueno" for a taco lover! Either find a better quality corn or switch to a flour tortilla. The fish was also a little bland and could use some seasoning. The fried pickles and onion dip app are our favs. It can be very loud during busy times so keep that in mind. If you're looking for a quieter dining experience arrive before peak times.

Location:Right off 93, very convenient. Atmosphere, more of s loft feel than a tavern, very open, semi comfortable, lighting is low. Tey have a couple of tv's over the bar. Waitress staff appears green for the most part. Sharon however is remarkable and seasoned, I knew her from another restaurant. The spicey wings were great, a unique flavor. sucking on some suds. When pairing with wings, it's more about the spicy sauce than the savory meat. Conventional wisdom in the beer world says that malty beers tone down the heat while hoppy beers enhance it. But that has not always been my experience. I find that bitter brews wash the palate clean, brushing away the oils that set your mouth ablaze. I say, live a little: go bitter and go bold. Or try an American ipa that plays both offense and defense. I had the Turkey panini. It was about 2.5, 3 where as the wings were a solid 4 out of 5. The mashed potatoes were great too. The Fries were about a 3 as well. To finish a corn muffin, it didn't come out heated, I would imagine it would have tasted better. 2 person meal estimated 55 + tip. No dessert. The Source

I would like to give this place four starts but am only giving it three for reasons I'll explain. My wife and I have eaten here twice and I think the food is good. However, I am a road warrior and so dine out a lot at places around the country. One of my pet peeves is service. Not, as you might think, too little but often, too much. For me the ideal service in a restaurant is the way they do it in Europe. Essentially, they leave you alone. In America, first the waitress stops by while you're mid-chew and asks "how's it tastin'?" Then 3 minutes later she (or perhaps the guy who fills your water) will ask the same question. Then later a manager will come over to see if everything's ok. By now I've been interrupted three, sometimes four times for the same thing. While this, to a lot of people, may seem ok, it totally sticks in my craw. So my beef about Red Heat is not the food. It's that they overdo the service. There's a guy holding the door open, then another guy (white shirt, jeans), taking us to the table asking if we've been there before. Yes. Then the overzealous waitress asks me (again mid-chew) if I'm done and attempts to take my plate away while I'm eating. At the end of all this, one of the managers comes over, puts both arms on the table, leans forward into our faces and asks how everything was. He's so macho about it I'm afraid to tell him about the waitress lest he go back and yell at her or something. Enough! I find this all very off-putting. You don't even have to go to Europe to see moe laid-back service. The 99 down the street doesn't do this nor does Burton's Grill which I've heard is related to this restaurant. I know you guys at RHT want everything just right. But for me the best customer service is unobtrusive. I don't know who's breathing down your necks for this level of perfection. But please don't breathe down mine. Let me eat in peace. I'll go back one more time. If this overamped service continues, I won't return.

Went here for lunch with 3 friends. Really wasn't impressed. Hopefully with time it will get better. They did a great job on the building and the location is excellent . of the 4 of us only the cheeseburger was good. The wrap was made with coldcuts, the chili was not nearly as good as the bad chili at Sunday River that comes in a bag. I think the Sunday River chili actually costs less. The meatloaf was really sad. Very expensive restaurant for what they are offering. They will need to execute better to make it worthwhile. I would encourage people to wait a few months till they get things ironed out. For instance there is only 1 terminal in a huge bar to enter orders so while we are waiting for refills and to order 1 bartender is entering orders and the other is watching and waiting. I imagine this will change. As will the quality of the staff. Down to 1 star since they didn't email me back and posted on my review that they would.

I've been to Red Heat Tavern 3 separate times now and I have never been disappointed! I've been twice for lunch and once to meet friends at the bar for drinks. The decor is unique and funky! All three times the service has been timely and the servers have all been courteous and friendly. Their cornbread and cinnamon butter is to die for and their wildcat fries are delicious. I've always gotten the turkey cobb salad! I highly recommend. They also have a great beer selection. Great place to meet up with friends to watch the game! I would tell anyone to give Red Heat a shot, they won't disappoint!

A new concept by the owners of Burtons Grille, this is supposed to be the 'fun' 'affordable' version I would assume. For a tavern, it is lacking in tavern-esque atmosphere. Only a couple TVs in the bar area. Food is meh - def not worth the price tag and not a ton of selection. Felt like I was given the bar menu while I was sitting in the restaurant. Wait is insane but that's just because it's new. Wait a few months to try for dinner. May go back for chips and dip app with drinks but not dinner again.

So i want to start out by saying that the tavern is beautiful, and the service was great. Everyone was nice and hospitable, they even fed some appetizers to the people who were waiting. Now the reason I rated low, is that this restaurant is new, and it shows. The servers are still trying to learn how to use their handhelds, so there are awkward pauses between orders while they figure it out. The drinks took a while to come out because the bar was slammed. Only once before, have I ever sent food back. But tonight I had to send food back twice. First, my salmon came back cold. The second time it came back, I realized it was cold because one of the pieces was completely raw, and the other piece was medium rare. So I had to send it back again. Most of it was cooked that time, but the wider ends were still on the raw side so I didn't even try to finish it, and ended feeling queasy later on the night. My friends food was cooked well and tasted good. Long story short, everyone is learning, and not on their A game yet. They were polite and professional, but I would definitely wait a few weeks until the staff gets the hang of everything before I came back again. I wouldn't tell you not to go, just postpone the trip for a little bit, this place has great potential.

The service has been good the two Times I've eaten here. There aren't many vegetarian options but I think that's kind of to be expected at a place that publicizes its fancy barbecue oven/grill. And important distinction to mention is that at my first visit I was informed that some items that I asked about ( that amazing looking grilled corn featured on phantom gourmet) weren't available because they were a scratch kitchen and didn't cook frozen or things that are out of season. If they really do cook everything from scratch that is a great thing to point out as most restaurants are only a step above a TV dinner at this pointSimply because so many restaurants use non-fresh ingredients. There are a ton of delicious vegetable and non-vegetable side dishes all of which were delicious. Fried bread and butter pickles, onion straws and sweet potato wedges just to name a few. During my two visits I've never received anything that needed to be sent back nor has anyone in my party. Everything is fresh and seemingly prepared with care and attention. The atmosphere is very kid friendly and everything is so clean that it's actually a pleasant place for me to take my children, without some of the concerns that come with lots of other restaurants namely not so clean tables and definitely not clean highchairs. Neither of those things have been an issue at this establishment. The corn bread and cinnamon sugar butter is to die for, so to make sure you ask for some when you sit down.

The "Red Heat Tavern" was OK, but nothing outstanding. Over all I was expecting great and was disapointed. The atmosphere was nice, but very noisy. The "Red Heat" is some oven in the kitchen that no can see. The food was mixed, my wife had the "Tavern Chicken" and it was very good. I had the Scrod and Shrimp. The Scrod was dry and they gave me one medium shrimp. When I asked about dessert, they did not bring it over or have a menu, they just told us about it orally. Being a new restaurant, I expected that they would want to get my opinion or get my email address so they could do some marketing, but no. Overall somewhat amateurish, it's no Season 52 or even the 99.

I really want to like this place because it's right near my house and it has a decent atmosphere. We have been here several times, and it's terribly inconsistent. The food isn't bad, albeit it is overpriced, but the last time we went our entree came right after the appetizer showed up. This is restaurant 101 ...totally unacceptable. Didn't help that our waitress had zero personality and was totally rude, which is unfortunate because the time before we had a very nice waitress. The management needs to step up and be more attentive so that consistency rules. We'll give it one more try (have a gift card) in hopes the problems have been remedied. Any issues and I don't think we'll bother going back.

Went with the wife on a Monday, we were seated right away. I got the turkey tips and my wife got a cheese burger. We also got a side order of the Korean ribs. The waitress was friendly and got our drinks right away. The ribs were very meaty and had lots of flavor, kind of a sweet and savory sauce. The turkey tips were good but the portion size was a little small. They came with sweet potato wedges which were very good. My wife's burger was cooked perfectly and cheese melted over the top. French fries had the skin on them and were crispy. Probably what I will get next time I go.

Went here for the first time a few nights ago, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. The food is not over-salted as most restaurants do to their food, so I could really taste the food itself. My wife is gluten-free, and there are lots of options for her. Everything we had was delicious. As far as cost goes, I think a lot of folks come in expecting standard tavern prices, which is understandable given the name. However, the food is a bit more upscale and of better quality than standard tavern fare. I think it's totally worth it. We will certainly eat here again.

Alright, I know that two stars looks really bad, but... It's not that bad. It's just everything added up to give it that score. Red Heat had some four star service, but the food is between a two or three. Though the calamari was fantastic, which would be worth five stars if not for the fact there was more fried peppers than squid. Over all, the price did not justify the food. While the quality of the food was nice, not greasy or messy, the flavor was just not there. My ribs and my wife's BBQ burger both had what tasted like a homemade BBQ sauce, which was the only flavor. The burger meat had no flavor, the ribs were boiled, stacked on top of bland macaroni and a sort of succotash. After receiving our bill I had to give it a double take, burger, ribs, calamari and two iced teas for $50. In short: good service, overpriced, under seasoned.

Amazing experience! Had the chicken over jasmine rice. Portion was presented well on the plate, pineapple salsa was a great addition to the plate. Two appetizers we purchased were the grilled corn, and parmesean fries. The grilled corn was fantastic! Great sauce and cheese sprinkled on it. Fries were a good size portion and sprinkled with cheese and seasoning, just perfect. Four of us ate and all of us had a great experience. Waitstaff greeted us and seated us right away. Our Waitress Maegan was fast, attentive and had a smile on her face from start to finish. My husband and I agreed we have to let people know about this place--and we will travel from Manchester NH to go there again. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu. Good beer selection!

Very Friendly and FAST service. Salad was awesome. Food was okay. Had the most expensive item (steak), but I've had better. Am going to hang in there with this restaurant because it's so close to where I live. Didn't have an appetizer, but that might be the route to go. I think you should give it a try.

Had late dinner at RHT last night after the Pats epic victory over the ravens. Read a lot about the fried bread and butter pickles and chips with bacon dip so ordered both as apps and both excellent although the chips could have been warmer did not disappoint. Steaks tips were Burton's Caliber and portion could have been larger for the price. my wife's short rib was good, not great... but good. My sister and her boyfriend had the fried fish basket which looked very generous with 3 large pieces of cod. I tried the cod and it was very good with light batter and not greasy at all. Parmesan fries we great. Beer selection was great. 22 oz Stella on draft for $5.50 was a deal but some of the beer prices seemed high. $8 for a 22 oz Blue Moon. next time will go for a couple of apps and a burger.

I needed a late lunch while traveling through this area and just saw the sign on the highway for this place. I was beyond happy with the quality of food and service. I got the RHT Steak with bacon Brussel Sprouts and "oversized tater tots". The homemade steak sauce was a great addition to the sliced sirloin (it's served on top), but be warned that it has a little bit of heat. The bacon Brussel sprouts were solid, but by far the best and biggest surprise was the homemade oversized tater tots. They taste like a balled up potato pancake with bacon. The service (I was just at the bar) was superb and personable. I will definitely be back in my next trip through this area.

We've gone 3-4 times and had a really good experience every time - from the service to the drinks to the food. Everything was cooked just right - the calamari is excellent, and my fish dishes have been cooked perfectly too. The hostesses, waitstaff, and managers were all accommodating, checked in frequently to ensure things were ok, greeted and thanked us for the visit, etc. This past time, they gave us cornbread to start, and it was delicious. I really like the atmosphere, decor, open kitchen. The bar area is really nice too. I'd recommend and will be going back. Would like to try out the outdoor seating in the Summer.

I visited the "Red Heat" for the first time on a Saturday evening around 8-8:30pm. It was VERY crowed and LOUD!! We could hardly hear eachother at our own table. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Food: We all loved our meals. All meals had an awesome presentation. Very classy. I got the turkey panini. It arrived hot and delicious. My husband got the short-ribs. He enjoyed his meal as well, although the portion sizes are small, compared to the prices you pay. I probably would not go back to this place based on this fact. I inquired about what flavored Margarita's they offer. I was told by our waiter they do not offer flavors. So, I ordered something different. A few minutes later our waiter returned saying he checked with the bartender and they DO in fact offer rasberry and watermelon Margarita's. So, I ordered a raspberry Margarita. It was HORRIBLE! Way too much lime juice. I read other reviews that questioned their ability to make a mixed drink, but, if your going to drink beer, they did have a wide selection of beers. If the restaurant was quieter, and the prices were a tad more reasonable, I would ferequent this place. The parking lot is pretty small as well. So, on a busy night, you may not even find parking. And, its on a busy street, so, there is no street parking if the lot is full. Not sure if they would loose business because of this fact. I gave this place 3-stars, because the food is excellent. It would have got 5-stars if they knew how to make a mixed drink and if the food portions were larger.

I really wanted to like this place. First visit the turkey tips were flavorless and the maple glazed, sweet potatoes with feta that accompanied the dish were odd. The flavor combination simple didn't work. On the second visit I had the fish tacos. The fish was mealy and stringy and there was no sriracha sauce on the dish. The service was indifferent, and the atmosphere was loud. It's clear the bar is the center piece of the business, and if I was a bar goer, I think I might enjoy the place. As it is, the food and service simply aren't up to par.

So...my husband picked me up from work and told me he was going to take me to a new place in Wilmington...so of course I said yes!! I don't want to cook!!! We both were not starving so we decided to eat light...I certainly am always up for a beer!! So we went here...the hostess was so sweet..she seated us and told us our waitress would be right over..I wish I got her name...she had long dark brown hair...she kept a scowl on her face the whole time...soooo...that being said...I ordered a 20 ounce draft bud...hey...I like bud light!! So anyway...they didn't have it and I had to order a bottle which is fine but I wanted a draft...so we ordered the buffalo wings and a Reuben to share...my husband is a little rough around the edges but he means well..and tips well...but I guess our waitress didn't like him or something...I drank the beer from the bottle and the waitress never removed the glass off the table...we got our food and omg!!!!!!! The best buffalo wings ever ever ever!!!! The blue cheese dressing was homemade as well and it was fabulous!!! The Reuben came with both onion strings and fries which were delicious!! The Reuben was very good...I saw another table that got cornbread...not sure if they ordered it or if it comes with meals...we never got offered any...we only saw the waitress twice more...once to bring me another beer...I wanted two more but she never came back...and once to throw our check in a puddle on our table...my husband wanted water or more coke because he doesn't like spicy food...I do...but we never saw her..,we had a little table and we had to sit amongst dirty dishes..,so did the table next to us...I can't wait to eat there again and try more food...but I will not let that girl wait on us...my husband still left a 20 percent tip...but he usually leaves 35 percent...so I know he was annoyed as well...yum on the food!!!

Came here for lunch on a Friday with a big group. We were seated right away at a table in the back. Big con for me was how dim the lighting was. The appetizers were good, particularly the Korean ribs, the fries were just okay and the pretzels were good altho the cheese sauce it came with was cold. I got the wings for dinner, they were good, I liked the sweet ones better than the buffalo. Pro for me was the beer and drink menu which had a lot of options. Overall, I would come back here again for apps and drinks, but probably not a full meal.

I just tried this restaurant for dinner with my boyfriend, and I can't wait to come back! It's a nice casual enviornment, which I like. And the staff is super friendly. The menu is very cool, it' has a different variety and they serve you corn bread with a sweet butter. I got a salad to start and the lemon vinegarette is awesome! We got fried pickles, best fried pickles I've ever had, and korean bbq ribs. I am half Korean and it reminded me (with the sesame seed topping) a little bit of my favorite Korean dish, bulgogi. We didn't care too much for our main course, but it's not gonna stray us from coming back. He got the fish tacos, they just lacked a little flavor, like maybe a sauce or something would complete it, and I got the turkey tips, and they were just ok. All and all, I am a new fan.

Went there last night and it was my second time in two weeks. Cornbread soft and fresh. Chili is a must with so much flavor. The wings you have to try both and my steak tips just cut like butter. Great job a hidden gem!

I have never given 5 stars before. This place is NOW my favorite. Went there over the summer and it was Ok.Seen that they have a new menu and chef and thought we would give it a 2nd try this afternoon.WOW fresh/quality cooked food with amazing flavor. The prices won't hurt the wallet. A must try.

Food and service was excellent. Love the house made potato chips and dip. Large beer selection. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the price, it's a tavern in Wilmington. 2 dinners and some beers shouldn't cost close to $80.

Went here tonight with my husband and sat at the bar. We got there early so we could watch The Preakness and the bartenders were really friendly and nice. The only thing I thought was weird was that they had 3 bartenders plus a service bartender for a smaller horseshoe style bar. A little overkill if you ask me but it did get busier later so it might have been necessary. Their outdoor seating is nice for the warmer temperatures! Their beer menu is impressive and I think it's pretty cool to have wine on tap even though I don't really drink. My husband was able to try a new beer and found a keeper. I got the salmon which was good but I feel like it needed a little bit more sauce. My husband got the ribs and although they said they were braised, they were a little dry and tough, in my opinion. Portion size was good and the atmosphere was welcoming. We will definitely come back to try their other food options, just hope they are around long enough to visit a few times!

I've been twice and I'm just not a fan.....The food was ok, but expensive for what you get. I thought it was extremely loud in there, and I couldn't hear my husband talking to me from 2 feet away. I'll give them a couple of more months and try it again. I do like the outdoor patio though. I have to update my review....I got some coupons in the local paper and tried it 2 more times. I'm impressed! They have really upped there game, changed some things on the menu and lowered the prices some. They have done a complete turn around. Nice job! I'll be back.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday. Had the steak tip salad. It was delicious. My husband had the muffuletta sandwich which he enjoyed. My son had the grilled cheese and was happy. The weather was beautiful and we were able to sit outside. We'd definitely go back.

Was super excited to try this new tavern as we haven't had anything like this in Wilmington ever! The Red Heat Tavern was mediocre. It was dark and we requested to sit by a window which left us right next to the managers office and kitchen. It was freezing the entire time we were there. The nachos were excellent, and the drinks were great although a little pricey. ($12) The menu was short and it took us a little while to figure out what to get, nothing really caught our eye. The haddock nuggets were tasty, meatloaf was good, onion strings were super deep fried and greasy. My son didn't like the Mac n cheese so once I mentioned it to the waitress, a manager came over and asked if we would like something else. Literally two minutes later he brought chicken Fingers over to our table. MUCH better-Kids chicken fingers were delish. Service-- good. Menu-- needs work.

Just left, and I am stuffed! Short Rib Mac and Cheese was amazing. Fried pickles were yummy and different made with sweet pickles instead of sour ones. My dinner mate had the beef short ribs with Brussel sprouts. It melted in your mouth, and the Brussel sprouts were like vegetable candy. The only down sides were the live band was a little to loud, and the people gathered around the front door smoking.

Restaurant was sub par, but I know it will still do well since there is limited competition in Wilmington. I got the Moscow mule and was really excited as it's one of my favorite drinks. However, it was the worst one I've ever gotten. It had no flavor to it at all. The menu is very small. I got a burger which was pretty good and my boyfriend seemed to enjoy the meatloaf. I just wasn't too impressed with the overall restaurant.

Really excellent gluten free food options. I don't know why everyone is saying its expensive it is really good food and portions the prices are similar to legal seafoods and their steak is way better. This is not a chillis or 99 it's an actual restaurant that makes food from scratch.

Received a gift card for here so decided to take the family out. We went on a Friday night, no wait. Seated quickly. Very cold inside like a freakin ice box! Food was awesome! Ribs were the best! The food was not the problem here, the service was slow and mostly because one guy was running his head off. While the front staff... hosts just stood there watching. Prob won't be back just to much money for the hassle. Maybe will order ribs to go if I really crave them in the future.

Went for dinner on a Tuesday. Had no problem getting a table. The chicken wings were very good. So was the chili. Had a chicken cesar salad, about average. My son had the chicken and waffles and enjoyed it very much. Will definitely go again.

I came here Saturday night with a friend. I ordered the fish tacos, because they sounded delicious. I had never had a fish taco before, and I was not disappointed! They were delicious! My only complaint was, they didn't have the beer I ordered. (they had run out) so I settled for something else. I will definitely be returning to this place.

From the road it looks like you're turning into the Burger King. Easy to find from 93. Lots of parking, I think they're going to need it once they get going. Large outdoor patio for the good days. Excellent interior with a nice horse shoe bar & large lounge area. Open kitchen faces the dining area. The food, nachos are obscene, big enough for 4 & delicious. Meatloaf dinner devoured, fish dinner up there with the better fish & chips at Irish pub type places. Burger was excellent, perfectly cooked. Nice beer & ales, I particularly liked the dogfish 90. Reasonably priced wines. Can't review deserts as we were all full. Service was ok, felt pressured to order quickly.the nachos are big & our server asked twice if we were ready to order so we did. Food came out before we were done. All in all a good experience & we will be back soon.

Wanted to try this place for a while. I sat at the bar today and ordered a Shipyard Pumpkin with the sugar/cinammon rim. It was tasty and my salad the Salmon Nicoise salad was very good. The best part is the genuinely nice bartender Mike. He is nice to everyone and it is sincere. He made it a very pleasant experience. I want to go back and check out Thursday night with the live music. The salad had salmon, tomatoes, red onions sliced super thin, two deviled eggs and potatoes. They also have olives in it too but I asked for none of those. The spinach was super fresh and it was delicious.

I'd wanted to try the Red Heat Tavern for a few weeks as I watched it being built and was excited to have a place with a nice beer selection and good food open in the area. My friend and I went on a week night and while the parking lot looked full, there was plenty of seating inside and no wait time. We were seated near the kitchen, which is my only real complaint as it was a bit congested with lots of foot traffic and I'm not a fan of watching meal preparation as I eat. Our waitress was nice, and they did have a great beer selection. I decided to go with the sangria (excellent) and my partner had a beer. We liked the appetizer selection but decided to just get mains. I went with a Tavern burger, with no choice as to how it was prepared which made me a bit wary, however, it was cooked to perfection and delicious. I substituted the veggie of the day for one of the starchy sides (green beans, also cooked perfectly). My partner got the maple chicken with the green beans. Also, delicious and huge (he took some of it home). They did try to bring us a nacho plate which looked yummy but, alas, we didn't order it. We got another round of drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. Word of warning, it is super loud but you should expect that at a tavern. The bill was more than reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We can't wait to return!

My wife and I had dinner here tonight for the 1st time and it was great. Highly recommend the Memphis Ribs as well as the Fish Tacos. It was the perfect night to dine outside on their patio. The Service was Excellent and we look forward to going back real soon.

We are walking in and a couple walks out saying don't go there. They're all backed up and have no idea what's going on. We walk in anyway and stand at the hostess table where the hostess and manager are frantic over seating . We stood there for 3 mins without being acknowledged. At that point another person went up asked what was going on and it's been over an hour and asked how much longer. The manager couldn't give a time. When I walked passed the window I saw empty tables. After that we walked out. Have no idea how the food is but figured that was a sure sign it wasn't going to be a good expierence.

Great upscale tavern. The food was very good, service was friendly (and attractive), and the decor is cool. People of Wilmington you should definitely support this place.

We visited the tavern on a Saturday night and to our surprise the bar was not packed so we took a seat there. The bartenders were fantastic and very friendly. Loved the decor of the restaurant. The food was a huge let down unfortunately. Priced way to high for the quality. I got the fish and chips which was cooked well but there was no seasoning on it at all which made it bland to eat. The French fries were cold and soggy also. My boyfriend got the short ribs which was the worst piece of meat I have ever tasted. It was tough chewy and you has to saw at it to get the meat off the bone and the meat on short ribs should fall off the bone and that was so not the case. I would most likely only return for a drink at the bar.

We went on a whim and are glad we did. The place was crowded on a recent Thursday night (good sign). We waited 5 minutes for our table. Our friendly and attentive waitress, Kim, came over shortly and took our drink and dinner order. My wife ordered a chicken Caeser salad and I the RHT Philly wrap. Both arrived in due time, were plated beautifully and served hot. No complaints. The reasonably priced menu and drink selection should be enough to satisfy anyone's taste. I thought the wet naps in the condiment tray on the table were a nice amenity. We left satiated and look forward to returning.

We were invited to the friends and family event. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great and most importantly they have a very large bar. Highly recommend.

I was really disappointed. This being part of Burtons I was hoping for more. Service was some of the worst I have had lately - but in fairness the place is still new. I overheard the waitress telling another party she had the most tables of anyone working that night.. It showed!! I could only get a giant bottle of sparkling water.. And when I opted for plain water it went unfilled for long periods of time :( I ordered the chili.. It was good and between that and the cornbread that was all that was good on this night. My friend ordered the steak salad.. Steak was dry, salad was over dressed (dressing was asked for on the side but they did not do that) I ordered beet and tomato salad with chicken - not great, barely any beets or tomatoes.. And lots if iceberg lettuce.. Again dressing on the side was On the salad but thankfully not overdressed. We ordered the whoopie pies for dessert.. They were ok - they came unexpectedly with a raspberry sauce.. Not good. Skip the sauce and you have a chance at enjoying the whoopie pies. I would have to be pretty desperate to try again. Maybe it is just a burger and beer joint?

Was very excited to try this place. Heard great things. Nice atmosphere and menu. First waitres and waiter were great and almost too attentive to our needs. But then it all changed with a shift. Our whole table was cut off by a waitress of 18 years old after 3 beers (only one ordered with her). Yeah. She sent the manager over to our table to deliver the news. Cool place but stupid judgment calls.

Let me start by saying that this is not an exclusive, high-end restaurant. What it is, is a great tavern style restaurant with great food and drinks. The wings are really tasty and cooked in the brick oven. Lots of TV's to watch games. And the rest of the food is great as well. All in all - a great experience. I am actually going back tomorrow night!!

No issues with parking, no issues with service, place was very clean and presentable. Food was just OK. The Nachos I ordered had a sweet taste to them, when I order Nachos, I'm expecting a saltier taste. After while I couldn't eat anymore as the sweetness was too overpowering. The House salad was very good but again a different taste than what I normally would expect from a restaurant of this kind. It was loaded with pepper, which I enjoyed, but not sure how many people expect to have a fiery mouth after eating a house salad. My kids ordered whoopie pies for desert. I took a bite or two and they didn't taste fresh to me. Maybe some prefer a dry tasting desert but it was not for me.

Went for dinner and to watch the patriots game.. Food was blah. Steak & cheese was so chewy it was almost not edible and the bread on the burger was soggy and chewy. The drinks were way to strong (I know not something most people complain about) but I couldn't even drink it. Bartender didn't really care what was going on & was in his own little world. They then announced last call halfway thru the game because they were closing. Well I won't be back. Only good thing we had there was the cornbread.

Went last night for dinner and drinks. I got the Mac and cheese and my friend got fish and chips. Both were very good. The staff were friendly and attentive. The chef came by the table at the end of the meal to be sure everything was delicious. I would definitely go back. The location makes it a great stop on my way home from work.

We had a wonderful time at the Friends & Family event! Immediately upon entering, we were embraced by the casual, rustic decor and mouthwatering smell of char from the restaurant's Josper Oven. The staff was friendly and eager to welcome us to the new space. To start, we shared the Baby Beet & Tomato Salad (delicious), Crispy Calamari (fried jalapenos were a great add), and the Wild Cat Fries (hands down the best 'fries' dish I have ever tried...ever). I enjoyed the Chipotle Burger for my main, which was cooked exactly to my liking; medium. For dessert, we were all treated to Red Heat Tavern's mini whoopie pies, drizzled with chocolate sauce. The whoppie pies were absolutely delicious and a perfect ending to a great meal. Already looking forward to our next trip! ....and still dreaming about those Wild Cat Fries ;).

Staff rushed us out of a table after willingly expressing desire to stay and switch tables. Live around the corner and lost my business. Not worth the money to be stressed out

Looked at the reviews on Yelp - some weren't great - but decided to try it as we were in the area. So glad we did. The wings were hot and extremely tasty with a very interesting dip - not the typical blue cheese. I had a burger and fries - absolutely the best I've had. My boyfriend has the fish and chips, which were excellent. The waitress was beyond pleasant and we even had the manager, Steve, come up to us and ask us how our food was. He spent several minutes talking to us about the restaurant, how it was associated with Burton's Grill and thanked us for coming. We sat out on the patio, the music they were playing was great and it was an overall wonderful experience. We will definitely go back.

Came in for lunch mid-week. I'm a huge mac n cheese fan so I was excited to order the pork belly Mac n cheese. Then I was disappointed when I ate it. The pork was chewy, not crispy, and had absolutely no seasoning to it. The Mac n cheese was not cheesy at all. More like noodles with grease than anything. Staff was nice.

Atmosphere is nice but the food and service was mediocre. We asked multiple times for our drinks and condiments, sometimes never receiving them but we gave up and left. The nachos looked like they gathered random things from the kitchen and put the together and the chili didn't even come with the things it said it would and it was not even warm. Finally had to find the waitress for the check. Not worth the hour we spent there or the money.

Have been here several times for both lunch and dinner. Food is OK but service is spotty at best. Sat near the kitchen and watched orders waiting to be delivered pile up. Too bad since the area needs a great restaurant.

I've eaten here 3 times so far and love it. Very nice addition to Wilmington. I've gotten the mesquite wings several times which are delicious and an awesome turkey Cobb salad. The corn bread itself is amazing. It's warm and served with a honey butter. Id definitely recommend it. Service had always been great too. I only wish they had more dessert choices!

I've been anxiously waiting for RH to open. Stopped in a few weeks ago and sat at the bar for a lifetime before someone even smiled at us. Ordered an appetizer and no side plates. Sigh. Anyway, the beer was frosty and the calamari was yum so we decided to give it a whirl for dinner. We arrived for dinner at 6 as a party of 4. We were told a 25 minute wait. We waited and waited, almost an hour and I finally check in. The hostess goes, and I quote "I don't know what to tell you but you're not on here" and then made a couple other snarky remarks before finally mumbling a quasi-apology and letting me know we will be sat at the next available table. One thing I noticed is that they had FOUR hostesses. Wth?! That seems cray. If you're going to have that many hosts atleast make sure they are helping bus dirty tables. I did notice management stepping up to the plate to clear the tables but c'mon girls at the door, help the wait staff out! Ok now on with the high points of the meal.. The super friendly manager comped a couple of appetizers for us as well checked in throughout our meal, our waitress made up for personality and service that the snarky hostess lacked and the food was awesome, oh and Yuengling pitchers.

Very nice inside, great beer selection. Wine list is horrible. Menu is very limited and needs work. Service is good, but they need to pace themselves bringing out the orders. Asked about rewards program and was told it was not even developed. Big fan of Burton's Grilll, but they claim they don't want to be them, but they should try as Burtons is fabulous. Not sure how this place will do.

Overall, a great addition to Wilmington. Parking is crazy, as it was busy, there were no spots left. We took a chance and parked in the BK lot next door. We were quoted a 20-30 minute wait, and we were sat within that time. The restaurant is loud, so if you don't do loud, don't go during busy times. The service was very good. Our waitress was very nice and she was getting a hand of their ordering system through the wireless system they use. The food and drink options are very good. We brought our kids and they enjoyed their food from the kids menu. I got the turkey wrap, pretty good--onion rings were very good. My husband's burger was cooked correctly but came out cold. When we waved down the manager, he quickly took it away and brought him a new one soon after. Overall we definitely will be making trips back to Red Heat Tavern, I look forward to trying other items on the menu.

Went there the first day they were open to check the place out. With the name Tavern in it, I thought I would go try a cold beer.. The place was crowded and I had to stand up for my first beer, Soon enough a place opened up at the bar and i got a seat. I ordered another beer and talked to some of the guest. when I asked for a third beer I was told I couldn't get another one if I didn't buy any food, NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WON'T GO BACK

Yes this is a new restaurant and people should understand this, you are going out for dinner and drinks try and enjoy the experience rather than be so negative as they work out some kinks. They do care as they are doing this and I appreciate that they are sincere about this. The server was excellent she was attentive but not intrusive. My husband said the calamari was the best he's ever had. The short ribs very very good. We loved the warm corn bread. I had a burger, it was lunch time. I know it was just a burger but cooked perfectly and I am very particular about that. They offered half fries and half onion rings. The fries were ok but the onion rings were great, not greasy and a light breading. I did also have a ceasar salad and the dressing was delicious. What impressed me most was the friendliness of all the staff. Every single staff member from when we walked in to when we left cared that we were enjoying ourselves and if something was not right how could they make it better. This counts for a lot. Great atmosphere and bar as well. We will be back.

Been waiting for this place to open. Watched with interest as it was built. Go by this spot weekly. VERY disappointed. Opened the door to very LOAD room and four hostesses whose combined ages did not equal 50! One, adult professional hostess would work much better. Our waitress, Kim, came quickly to our table and was warm and friendly and took our order. We started with the broccoli cheddar soap. Arrived very fast, very hot, and very buttery/greasy without much broccoli or cheddar or TASTE. My wife got a 3 cheese sandwich with dull fries and stringy cold onion things. My farmers burger was ok, but not worth $11.00. By now we were ready to get out of there and asked for our check which came as slowly as the food arrived quickly. With two cokes, no cocktails, our check was for $40+. Noise was so overwhelming, we paid cash just to get out! I only had twenties and four singles. So we left $44.00 (sorry Kim, not your fault). Kitchen crew I am sure were NOT trained at Johnson & Wales - maybe Howard Johnsons. Sorry guys but you have a LONG way to go to make it.

Came in on a Sunday evening to try the place out. Upon entering the location I knew it wasn't going to be good. Rude hostess. It was just two of us. We came in..she didn't even acknowledge our presence. Looked like her machine was down and she was having a tough time but never once came over to us to let us know she'll be with us in a minute. Instead she looked over at us and walked towards the back. Finally a pretty in pink blond came over to us to see if we were all set..we said no..she said table wait is 15min..she mentioned the bar and to the bar we went. As a previous reviewer mentioned owner went all out at Staples. Menu was on a clip board. I noticed a small menu with big prices. I decided to get the Daiquiri and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Daiquiri was ok and well this was the worst Chicken Caesar salad ever! I went for the simplest thing on this menu how can you screw up grilled chicken and lettuce well this place did it. Chicken was cold. A few sparse lettuce bits and 3 croutons. I was trying to find the Cesar dressing and reached to the bottom of my bowl fairly quick might i add with no such luck! NOT a food place. I didn't even see a dessert menu..Come in just for the grand variety of beers that's it! BTW NO Paper Napkins....what am I supposed to do with my gum.

Absolutely the worse dining experience ever! I too was so excited this place opened up in Wilmington as I agree with another reviewer that Wilmington needs more high end places in this town. I ordered the app chili and added side salad for my meal. The chili was horrible not even edible. It tasted as though there was horseradish or something similar that is added to the recipe but they over killed this one. I can typically eat anything even if its subpar to some degree, but this one was that bad. I told the waiter and he did nothing at all. He didn't take it off the bill, ask me if I wanted something else, nothing!!! Salad was good and we got chicken wings as an app which were very good. My husband got the cheese steak and he wasn't impressed. I ordered a few cosmos and am fine with paying $10 for a drink but it was the smallest Cosmo I have ever seen. There was mass confusion with the wait staff. We saw our waiter sleeping in a booth and after we ordered our app through another waiter he woke up and was our waiter. Strange to say the least. He never asked if we wanted dessert and like I said when he came over and asked how everything was and I said I didn't like the chili he gave us the bill. I read on yelp that there was complimentary corn bread...we never got any. Didn't think they even had desert until I read the review about the whoopi pies. Left there hungry since I just had a side salad. We spent $70. Again, don't mind paying for a decent, fresh meal if food is good but seriously the worse service combined with a bad meal, I would never return! They seriously need better wait staff or better training. Someone needs to also work with these cooks to ensure consistency in food as apparently my waiter said everyone raves about the chili and my chili was nothing to rave about! I truly hope this place gets its act together real soon!
