This place was so interesting! It's like Chipotle meets dumplings. Fresh, tasty, and filling, I think I'll come back here often. The staff were very friendly and the owner was so sweet. She made sure we understood the menu, answered any questions we had and checked in on us as we dined. We came for lunch in the middle of the week and was surprised to see that it was PACKED. They handled the crowd very well and barely waited 5 minutes for our food. Very cool place. Will be back again soon!

I am not sure if people in Weston are chainsmokers lacking taste buds or dearth of better food choices breeds extremely over-priced places catering to the lovers of bland. Dumplings - go to H-Mart and those from the freezer section will taste better. There is no way they were freshly made. Pork belly ramen - broth was weird, to say the least. Ramen - same. Pork belly... well you can't screw up bacon, so that was fine. Chicken on rice - $15 for what?!?! Beef jerky dry chicken, rice, and sesame sauce drizzled on rice. Overpriced. Mediocre food at best. Again, another New England restaurant lacking bravery to serve something that is not bland. There is no way I can even give "A-OK" three stars.

We never expected to find such a wonderful place in Weston. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't packed. We found a table towards the back. The bookshelves that lined the wall had Asian cookbooks and other books of interest. I went up to the counter to find out what the specials were. The owner, Nadia, was very friendly and we chatted while waiting for the rest of our party. Based on Nadia's recommendations, these were what we sampled: 1) shrimp dumplings, 2) pan-seared pork & napa cabbage dumplings, 3) steamed BBQ pork buns, 4) braised pork belly Taiwanese buns, 5) chicken dumplings in Sichuan sauce, 6) pan-seared Shanghainese pork buns, 7) lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice with pork and 8) Dan Dan mien. Nadia also brought us a scallion pancake beef wrap and dessert on the house. Everything was served fast & hot and they were all delicious. The guys really enjoyed the feast that was heaped upon our table. Especially the one who had never had Chinese food dim sum style; he was so happy that he picked up the whole tab! Another Plus: **It's a Peanut Free Zone for those who have peanut allergies!**

The menu alone makes this place a godsend. From dumplings to three-day pork ramen to bubble tea- this is the perfect place to hit all of the Chinese food cravings. You can tell the food is high-quality. Everything is fresh and tastes "clean"... meaning I can still function after over-indulging. Weston Town Center has been waiting for a gem like this. Food is authentic, delicious, and lives up to the promise. Can't wait to try the whole menu. Atmosphere is modern, plenty of space to sit with friends and family. Note to self- I could eat about three orders of the dumplings next time (went with pork and chive).

My wife and I both had a day off from work a few weeks ago and decided to check out this spot for lunch. It was only a 3 or 4 mile drive to get there and we managed to easily find, right off the main street, in that small strip mall. We walked in and found ourselves entering a cute little establishment. It was pretty busy in there and we quickly made up our minds and ordered away. I got myself a bowl of their pork ramen and some chicken buns to split as well. She got one of their specials and we paid and sat at their ringside seats near the book, which overlook the kitchen. The chicken Taiwanese buns ($8) were amazing. Juicy, tender and full of flavor, I devoured mine and was left wanting more. Dozens more. Kudos to them for that, it was the highlight of our visit there. My wife's special was pretty good, however my three-day pork ramen ($12) fell completely flat. Their pork ramen was actually one of the reasons for my visit there. I'm a huge ramen fan as most of my friends are well aware of and always try to scour any place that offers it. However in this particular case, the broth lacked depth, it had too much five spice and ginger and fell completely flat. It didn't taste remotely like most tonkatsu broths I've had and the perfectly cooked egg and the noodles were the only redeeming factors. Overall this place is cute, has great potential and attentive service. The staff was friendly and the decor cute. Food was mostly a hit, with a few misses. The prices are a bit higher than we would have liked but I'd definitely return in the future, especially since they have a ton of ever-changing specials and a pretty good amount of dishes that they offer. Oh and you can BYOB and they don't have a corkage fee!

Here for a networking lunch meeting. The salmon salad was very good and very fresh. Unfresh salmon is not an option of course. For a tucked away restaurant, it was very busy. A good take on healthy Asian fare served for lunch.

My mom makes the best dumplings in the world. She unfortunately lives on the other side of the planet, so when she comes to visit she makes me enough dumplings to last several months so that I'm not too deprived in her absence. I stumbled upon this place on Yelp and thought it was calling out to me - I'm so a dumpling daughter!! I ordered: Coco wrap Pork and cabbage pan seared dumplings Taiwanese pork buns Coco wrap - this is a menu item I order ALL THE TIME in NYC at a dumpling place in Queens. Unfortunately this rendition was a bit of a disappointment to my palate - it wasn't as flavorful as I had expected. Pork and cabbage pan seared dumplings - they were delicious! I just wish the skins were thinner, and that I could actually taste the cabbage. There was also a giant oil slick on these and left bobs of oil when I dunked it in the soy sauce. They have a tiny sauce area with sriracha, soy sauce, vinegar, and ginger sauce (soy sauce with ginger). I was expecting match sticks of ginger in the ginger sauce, but no luck! I also wished they had like chopped scallions here so that you can "make your own sauce". I really appreciate what they're trying to do here, it's unexpected for a place like Weston. I loved the atmosphere, and the cashier helped me to order which I appreciated.

I'm pretty much obsessed and totally in love. I've been to China and I like these dumpling better than any that I had while there. More than their dumplings are amazing too! The buttered miso noodles taste like your mom's love in a bowl. Their salads are beautiful as well as delicious. I drive 3 hours round trip just because I crave the food so badly! There isn't a single bad thing to say about this place; the food is incredible, the staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming, the facility is lovely and clean. Like I said, I'm in love. My favorite are the spring rolls and the spicy Sichuan chicken dumplings. I recommend a side of rice so you can pour the leftover spicy sauce on it!!!

Got a few dishes at this place. All of them didn't pack much flavor at all. Got 2 types of dumplings, buns and a rice and chicken bowl. Very disappointing.

I've had dumplings/buns in Asia, NYC, and LA and these are easily the best, at least per my personal tastes. Everything here is good, from the Dan Dan, to the sauteed string beans, to the BBQ pork buns. These guys know their flavors, and seasoning on all the buns/dumplings are spot on. Even the ramen is incredible. For the buns in particular, you can taste the quality of the rice flour. The texture is different and much better than your cookie cutter rice flour that you would see at any given eatery in Chinatown. I love this place. I just wish it wasn't so far out of the way! The service is also great. Seriously though, get the Dan Dan. It's like a savory punch in the face.

I'm shocked to read all the reviews here raving about the food. I had dinner here twice. Very disappointed. Let's start with the dumplings, they were super sized, with hard and chewy wrappers and quite gross fillings, greasy and undercooked most of the time. IMHO they were not made well at all, and far from being authentic. Pork chop over rice was way too dry and flavorless. The bubble teas are probably the only thing close to taste Chinese yet overpriced.

Saw this place on Phantom Gourmet. Since my bf and I love dumplings we knew we had to try it. The owner ( whom I instantly recognized from tv) was there an even nicer and engaging than she was on tv. We had pan seared chicken dumplings and pan seared pork dumplings. To say that they were amazing would be an extreme understatement. The spring rolls are delicious. Natalie ( the owner) knew people ( whom i am presuming are regulars) by name. She asked us how we found out about her place and was talking to us about a restaurant her family used to own. She asked if we had 5 minutes to spare as she wanted to give us an order of golden fried buns to thank us for driving all the way out there. Just when i thought the food couldnt get any better the buns came out. I swear i would have licked the plate if possible.

Its hard to find any food places in Weston, nevermind good places. This place is one. The staff was nice and did not mind when my friends all stayed for a while to catch up on life. I had something called Grandmas spaghetti (or something like that name) and it was very unique. It had so many flavors and textures and didnt taste like anything I ever had before, in a good way. The dumplings are filling and yummy. I cant wait to go back and taste more things.

The menu from Dumpling Daughter was so enticing -- so full of promise. The menu had all my favorites and I could practically taste most of the dishes in my mind so I had a hard time choosing between all of the dishes that we rarely see in the Americanized restaurants that dot the Western suburbs. Sadly, the taste of the dishes that actually arrived fell well short of what I was expecting. The pork and napa dumplings might be the biggest disappointment. Yelp has a review with a picture of six beautifully browned dumplings -- mine did NOT look like that picture. Three were well browned, two were slightly brown and one was pale white. I like greasy food but three of them were so covered with oil that I blotted them with napkins before eating them. The filling was moist but lacked flavor and one was sufficiently undercooked inside that I wouldn't eat it. The chicken dumplings in Sichuan sauce also failed to impress. The sauce had big chunks of fresh garlic and it generally had the flavor I was expecting from the dish but had almost no peppery spice to it at all. The chicken filling was crumbly and dry and generally not appealing. Overall the dish was more of a reminder of dishes I will travel to eat elsewhere as opposed to something I want to eat. For those of us stuck in Metro West, Sichuan Gourmet in Framingham does a credible version of this dish. The filling in the roast pork buns had no flavor. The Dan Dan Mien came the closest to the dish I was expecting. It had sesame; it had spice; and most importantly, it had the pickled vegetable that is so often lacking when the dish is made at Americanized places. However, I still would have liked a bit more heat and in the end, these noodles were just OK. I am disappointed to say that the thing Dumpling Daughter does best is to remind me of food that I love but that can be gotten better elsewhere, albeit with a little more travel time.

I saw Dumpling Daughter on Phantom Gourmet last weekend and realized it was close to work so I had to give it a try for lunch. I went for the Pork and Chive steamed dumplings with the Wonton soup. The Wonton soup included 4 wontons made with a thin wrapper making them taste delicate and light. The Wontons came in a good portion of broth garnished with sliced chives. The soup also came with a side of crispy noodles that added a little crunch as I slurped down the rest of the broth. The dumplings, steamed pork and chive, were good sized and had a nice thick wrapper on them. The dumplings came with your standard dipping sauce that was very tasty. Overall the taste was great and the 6 dumpling portion was a good fit as well. As for the general location it was easy to find and had plenty of parking around back. Come early because it was packed for lunch. Luckily there were a few bar seats so it wasn't too hard to find a spot as a single person. Even with the place being full I never felt like I had to wait a long time to order or for the food to come out. I'll be back soon!

    O. M. G. I sat in 70 minutes of traffic to eat dinner here, and it was worth every second of sitting in my car. We ordered pork buns (holy **** they're delicious), taro bubble tea (one of the best I've ever had), and the 3-day pork ramen. The pork was like incredibly tender brisket - you barely had to touch it for the pieces to come apart. I ordered the regular chicken ramen and it was also amazing. It's not a restaurant with servers - you order your food and grab a seat. The tea eggs were perfectly cooked and the broth was perfect!!! Cannot wait to go back!

I was excited by all the hype about this place, from friends who raved about it and all the media publicity. However, as another Yelper has stated, I found the food to be "bland and boring." Nothing about the flavors popped as someone else mentioned. I ordered the 3 day pork ramen, the pan seared pork and napa dumplings, and a traditional milk boba tea. The pork belly itself was very savory. Sadly, the broth for the ramen was tasteless to me. Even I can make a more flavorful broth. I was in disbelief when I was eating it, especially after all the rave reviews. Also, the noodles also became soggy before I could finish the bowl. The dumplings are the larger kind, reminded me of Peking ravioli or "huo tieh," and were well made in the sense that they were beautifully well-shaped and the dumpling itself didn't fall apart. While they looked incredible, the dumplings again were just lacking flavor to me. I was excited about getting the boba tea but that too tasted a little off. It was less creamier than most that I've had, and the boba were smaller in size. Honestly, nothing compares to Saint Alp's. When I go out to eat, I kind of expect to be impressed or wowed, especially for a $23+ lunch. I'm a decent home cook, and can tell the difference between fresh vs. processed. I can tell the food is fresh food and not processed, but some serious depth of flavor is not present in the food. I'm not sure if I would come back, but if I did, I would try different things.

Authentic flavored and a modern atmosphere... Try the beef noodle soup, the beef is so tender you can break it apart with chopsticks. The food is so and delicious you should eat it in the restaurant and not do take out!

Pseudo-Chinese food for Americans who do NOT know what good Chinese food tastes like. The ambience is like a poorly designed Dunkin Doughnuts. We had pan fried dumplings, wonton soup and mooshi pork wrap that was among the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The taro bubble tea was OK.

Cool little place to have in Weston! Right next to Brothers supermarket, it's a modern restaurant that is easy enough to get take out from, but intimate enough to dine in. They had some good tunes going as well, which is key when you're trying to keep upbeat in the winter. Good atmosphere, even though it wasn't that busy. Wish I could get a few drinks going here. Go on Weston, sort it out! I had a late lunch; wonton soup, followed by the pork dumplings. Good portions and it was perfectly filling. Washed down with a Honeydew bubble tea, and I'm a happy man. I'll be bringing a few people here and no doubt getting a lot of take out. Bon appetit!

I grew up with Nadia Liu. Her parents introduced me to what real Chinese food was from a very young age. When I heard that she was opening a restaurant that featured much of the cuisine that she enjoyed growing up, I was beyond excited. I wanted to love the restaurant, but I promised myself that I would rate the food objectively when I tried it. It took me many months to get around to finally eating there, but tonight, I finally did. Did I love it? I did. I spend a lot of time trying to find East Asian restaurants that I like... and finally one opens up in my home town. I'll warn you: If you're looking for gloppy neon colored sickly sweet sauces coating broccoli and greasy doughy fried chicken, this place is not for you. If you're looking for a fusion of traditional Chinese influenced Asian dishes, make sure you come here. A lot. I started off with the steamed pork and chive dumpling. They were great. They were incredibly fresh, simple, and well executed. Dumplings are always a subtly flavored affair, but the beauty is in how the cook can let the flavors of the meat and vegetable shine through. For my main course, I ordered the three day pork ramen. You should too. That pork belly will haunt my dreams. It's Nadia's take on red cooked pork. The pork flavor is incredible, with the subtle flavors of five spice and soy supporting that amazing porky goodness that you get from a good piece of pork belly with the fat intact. The tea eggs are cooked perfectly with a custardy yolk that is enhanced by the not too overpowering yet wonderfully flavorful broth. The flavors married perfectly. It's going to take me a while to try the rest of the dishes, but I will. You should too.

Food is pretty good, but a bit overpriced and not that special. Really wished for better as Weston needs more options.

I came here after work one night and am so happy I finally did! The restaurant is very clean and décor very nice. My friend and I tried the chicken and cabbage dumplings, vegetable dumplings, roasted pork buns and an order of the dan dan mien. The portions are on the small side so they are ideal for sharing! They also have delicious bubble tea as well. The owner is very gracious and friendly. She gave us great suggestions and also was walking around checking in on everyone. Dumpling Daughter is worth checking out! Hint: Definitely get a few different things to share. That way you can taste a little of everything.

I found the food here unimpressive. The food was overpriced by 10 to 20% but I suppose this is understandable given the neighborhood. I ordered the three day old pork Ramen. The noodles were overcooked, and the flavors tasted unauthentic. The steamed pork buns were bland and uninspired. Not a repeat.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a new eatery open in Weston Center as there are very few options. The Dumplings are delicious! I also loved the Mango Bubble Tea. The fried rice was not my favorite as it contained what seemed like salami but they called sausage. It also had golden raisins in it which I found odd. Hands down if your in the mood for a great dumpling this place is worth a try. Friendly staff and fresh ingredients will have me back.

When a new Asian dumpling house opened up in Weston Center, I was curious but not optimistic. To make matters worse, there were a couple of disappointing reviews of the place on Yelp making me more doubtful. Still, my curiosity and the convenience of living within 5 minutes of DD ultimately won out. Thank goodness. It's a keeper. First things first: IGNORE the bad reviews. As an ethical matter, in my opinion, the poor reviews of Dumpling Daughter are either written by biased competitors or by neophytes who think authentic Asian food comes from Wegman's. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to rank the food up there with Momofuku either, but we're talking Weston, MA, not the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and we're talking comfortable, casual and quick, not two-hour waiting for bench seating with strangers. If you gave this place less than 3-stars, you need a serious dope slap from Anthony Bourdain or the like. After careful consideration, I awarded this place 4 stars though I considered giving it 5 stars knowing that it's not trying to be high-end gourmet. It's a close call, but either way, you'd be foolish not to come here if you're anywhere in range. The Food: I've had both types of pork dumplings and they were great. Not unique and unlike anything else on the planet, but as good as a dumpling gets. If you love dumplings, don't hesitate. I've also had the Taiwanese buns with pork belly. These were excellent and only a smidgen less perfect than Momofuku's in NY and perhaps that's only because it was 11pm by the time I ate at Momofuku's and I was starving and buzzed from the wine bar next door. The noodle bowls at DD are terrific too. I've had the Dan Dan Mien twice and while some like me may want to kick it up a bit more, the noodles are better than most I've had locally and the flavor is big but not overwhelming - just right. My daughter had the 3-day pork ramen and gave it an enthusiastic "yum!" The Service: Both staff and management were prompt, courteous, and knew the menu. The recommendations were spot on. Miscellaneous: DD is not a formal place - it's casual, but note that the food is still made to order. Place your order in advance or be prepared to wait a few short minutes while it's cooked for you. The day I was there, the kitchen closed at 8 so don't be late. If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed here. Enjoy!

Really nice place downtown. Almost commissary style restaurant, modest menu of well prepared food. Congenial staff, plenty of parking - recipe for a great place for lunch of a casual quality meal.

Dumpling Daughter doesn't have a very large menu, but they do a very good job on the stuff they do serve. I mainly go for the ramen, but I've enjoyed the fried rice and the dumplings as well. Do they have the best ramen in the area? No, but it's definitely up there, especially the three day pork. There isn't a whole lot of seating, but the place is clean and new. The staff is very friendly, and there are high chairs for the little kids. Parking can be a bit tight sometimes, but I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for a spot. Just get there a little early if you're trying to grab lunch.

The first time was fun, egg drop soup was fantastic. Second time still fun. This last time, the egg drop soup was not quite the same. It was missing something, tasted watered down, I was so bummed. Will go again, maybe just an off night. One other note, when a utensil is dropped, the person behind the counter should not wipe it off with a rag and put it back.

Brought the family here on a cold Sunday looking for a nice relaxed "brunch"- we'd heard good things and were excited to get some soup and dumplings! Everyone in the store was so nice and the owner Nadia and her husband were very helpful in helping us order. There is no waiter service, you grab a table and order at the counter. The restaurant is pretty swanky and reminds me more of someplace in the South End than suburbia. We ordered almost half the menu! Make sure to ask for any specials because we didn't see them until we went up to the counter. Highlights: any of the dumplings, the wonton soup and the scallion pancake. It's reasonably priced, but perhaps not if you're used to cheap takeout. This is freshly prepared food with good quality ingredients- it's not cheap. If I had any criticisms, it would be that the menu needs more non-carb items. Maybe it's what we ordered. The Boston suburbs are finally starting to wake up with food choices! Ming Tsai from Wellesley's Blue Ginger was a trailblazer. But Dumpling Daughter, as the name implies, is the next generation. Can't wait to go back and order the other half of the menu.

Fresh Chinese Authentic food in the suburb? Wow, I am happy to find this restaurant. The ramen is gooood and pan-sheared shanghainese pork is a must. Pan sheared pork dumplings is very tasty.

Had the supreme honor of dining here with my fiance', her sister and the owner Nadia yesterday. Fun = magnificent. Place = cute and well laid out. Staff = top notch and ready to assist. The food was clean, fresh and tasty. Just what the doctor ordered. The best part of the meal was to get the belle of the ball Ms. Nadia to sit and chat with us telling stories of work and family. What a treat. The food is done well - this place is truly worth the visit. ENJOY!!! THANK YOU NADIA!!

Let me preface this by saying, this is a good restaurant but it is no Momofuku. The best thing on the menu is the three day pork ramen ($12). It is quite flavorful. The napa cabbage and pork dumplings ($6) are good too but I craved more flavor. The buns (bao) are sometimes mushy but the flavors are great. The prices are a little high and the portions are small. The high prices were kind of expected given the location in the heart of Weston.

Surprise to see Sally Ling at Dumpling Daughter...Great place, great flavors, well made chinese dishes, and very good dumplings! I have been three times and was pretty excited about going back..The last time I was there, Sally Lings Daughter, since this is her restaurant, that wants us to know they know how to do Dumplings, there is one with soup in side..really very delicious, mentioned that BYOB at dinner time is fine.It is different from the typical Chinese Restaurant, very skilled cooking. I have been told the home-made chicken stock for the soup is very good. Organic chicken and Salmon. Please go, help them do well!

Can't believe it took me so long to find this. Weston's restaurant scene is underrated/. Went with a friend and we decided to go tapas style and got one of each other buns and two different dumpling orders. WOW! All I can say is this was a very pleasant surprise. Highlights included golden friend dessert buns and bubble tea :)

My son had recently seen a ramen restaurant on Phantom Gourmet and asked if we could try it sometime. Then I saw that Dumpling Daughter had received 5 stars for its ramen, and since I had been dying to try DD since it opened it was a go. We went on a Saturday around 1:30pm and were pleased to see a few tables were available. I had studied the menu at length since they had opened so I was familiar with it, and my son had already decided upon 3 day pork ramen. I am not sure what my husband had expected, but he wasn't as excited as we were. Nevertheless we got in line to order and he ordered some dumplings and 3 day pork buns. I got Dan Dan noodles and some smaller meat buns. While my husband was surprised by the final bill, I thought the prices were reasonable given the quality of the food. My noodles were AMAZING and my son was thrilled with his ramen. The dumplings and buns were also delicious, but 3 day pork must be expensive to make because those prices were highest. The owner came by and asked how everything was, so it was nice to see that she cared about her guests. I work nearby, so I would definitely call in a lunch order (as many people were doing that day) and have an outstanding lunch.

Phenomenal food and exceptional service. I'm a dumpling enthusiast, and the dumplings are better than anything I've had in Boston or Cambridge. The owner is hands on and develops personal relationships with the patrons. You really feel as though she is giving you access to her family's recipes. One of the biggest hidden gems in MA.

Less than 1star. This was the worst experience I have had dining possibly ever. After giving us half our order and then waiting another 20 minutes, they messed up everything else. They gave us incorrect things and after they talked to us to apologize, they brought out my meal which was wrong. I'm a vegetarian and they gave me meat, which I discovered after taking a bite. They refunded the 2 mistakes, but the whole meal should have been reimbursed. We will never go back there. So disgusting and disappointing.

The food is good here. Nice and fresh. The steamed buns are slightly chewy as they should be, and the fillings are well spiced The owners are clearly working at getting the service under control, but aren't quite there yet. The kid behind the counter taking orders is chewing gum, the girl delivering the food seems like she might be home from college helping out, but with no training or experience (Dumpling's daughter?) A little frenetic over all, creating less than a Zen like ambience. Don't know whether they can get a beer and wine license, but it would be great. As typical for Weston, the price point is generally (but not always) too high. $4 for 2 steamed buns isn't bad, but $7 for chicken soup and $10 for Mu Shu wraps is pushing it. Could be 4 or 5 stars with a little more attention to service and better value.

I was home for thanksgiving and dropped in to get a quick bite. This place lives up to the hype. First, the decor is fresh and comfortable. Modern, yet elegant. We felt like we just wanted to sit at our table for hours. Second, the food was delish. I got the chicken and cabbage dumplings. They were cooked perfectly, the meat was seasoned well, and they were the perfect texture. Plus, you get six sizeable dumplings per serving. I also got the wonton soup. The broth was tasty (unlike a lot of bland wonton soup broth at other places) and the dumplings were tasty. Simple and delicious. My wife got the veggie dumplings and chrysanthemum tea. She was in heaven. Highly recommended. Will be back!

Love this place. Weston has needed a place like this for as long as I can remember, and I moved here in '86. The place is fun, different and perfect for a quick fix or a full meal. The pork and chive dumplings are fantastic, and the CoCo sandwich was delicious. The meat was marinaded perfectly and it was wrapped in the best scallion pancake I have ever had. I'll be heading back for round three very soon. The team is a bit green, not quit sure of their roles yet, but that's to be expected for such a new place. Oh, and it's BYOB. It's perfect.

A rare offering in suburbia! It's hard to find real deal dumplings & pork buns but these do not disappoint. There was a bit of a line when we showed up for lunch and no tables, but it moved quickly and seemed to be a good flow of people leaving just as orders were coming up. The buttered miso noodles were a great choice for kiddos and the adults ended up trying to steal them away! Try the sweetened condensed milk buns as a dessert.

Great, deep flavors; everything is homemade from the finest ingredients and true recipes. Won-ton soup is so rich & hit the spot during the cold rain we're having! Coco wrap is insane!! Soup dumplings were fun, but pan fried with pork & cabbage took it up another level! Service is so warm and friendly - we cannot wait to go back!!

Went here last week with co-workers. Food was decent. Dumplings and sticky buns are hard to screw up. Co-workers enjoyed their entrees but didn't rave about them either. One item did arrive later than the others due to a mix-up by the waitress. Small but cute interior. I'll try it again.

Decent food but the location is absolutely taken advantage of to scale up the price and shirk down the quality. If you're willing to make the trip, go somewhere else.

The restaurant is so cute and interesting. I never had dumplings before - pork and chive = yummy! Tried "Golden fried buns with condensed milk " = sweet and gooey and I will take 6 more please. And let's not forget Bubble Tea! Just go there and order the above, you will thank me!

I so wanted to love this place. The concept is great, the space is beautifully done, all of the artwork and visuals are beautiful. The area is a vast wasteland for decent food, and this place is right on my commute home. I could easily have seen it becoming a twice-a-week dinner stop. The food, however, is bland and boring. The first time we went we were told it would take an hour and twenty minutes to pack up some dumplings, so we passed. Two subsequent visits worked out better, in that we got food. Most recently I ordered all of the different dumpling varieties, two different kinds of pork buns and Grandma's spaghetti and sauce. The chicken and cabbage dumpling was OK, the rest of the order was completely forgettable. The spicy dumplings weren't. The rest just had nothing to recommend them, no improvement over the frozen dumplings from the H Mart, and in most cases not as flavorful -- at a perhaps 10X premium in price. The wrappers are nice, everything seemed fresh, but the fillings just don't pop in any way. Ultimately worth neither the calories nor the price.

I can't believe all the positive reviews here; there were so many things wrong with this place I don't know where to begin. 1. The ambience is most unpleasant, more like a McDonalds than anything else. 2. You go up to the counter to order and then they bring the food to your table. Fine, but none of the workers seem to know what's going on--no line, no sense of organization, the wrong food arrives. We had to go back to the counter and beg for paper plates and straws. We had to plead for some soy sauce and chili oil. 3. The food is mediocre. Not disgusting, but not good. I've had much better buns out of the freezer compartment at the Super 88. The dumplings were ok, but small. I've had better dumplings out of the freezer as well (for a tenth of the price). The shrimp rice bowl was a few shrimp in a gooey sauce on some sort of crisped rice that tasted more like a building material than food. The Dan Dan noodles consisted of a couple tablespoons of jarred bean paste over Prince spaghetti. Dreadful. 4. There are some good Chinese restaurants in the suburbs now. My current favorite is the Sichuan Gourmet on Rte 9 in Framingham (and their satellite in Brookline). Go there instead. It's a day later and I'm still angry. It was my worst lunch experience in quite some time.

I had high expectation before I'm there. But the food is well below average. If you can cook Chinese food, do not bother to try to waste your money!

Simply delicious! My husband and I love this place. The food is fresh and delicious and has authentic taste which we haven't experienced for years. I have to keep pinching myself! Is there really an option for incredibly yummy dumplings, noodles and rice bowl dishes in the suburbs or am I dreaming? The staff is friendly and helpful and the decor of the restaurant is casual, and modern. Although it's an immaculate and cheerful place for eating in (with ample parking) we've always opted to order take-out. The food-to-go presentation is very nice and well packaged.

dropped into this place for the first time last week for lunch. it was lovely. very delicious & comfortable at a valuable price. My husband said the salmon salad was the best he's ever had. Tried my first dumpling and loved it! Want to go back and try another variety. Enjoyed all of it. Thank you!

What a great spot! Came here with my 2 month old daughter and parents for lunch on a rainy saturday. Got a corner table (convenient for baby) and restaurant was happy to get me a dish with warm water for a bottle) The owner, Nadia, checks on every table to make sure everyone is happy and clearly cares deeply about her customers. As for the food, its all excellent and the prices are quite reasonable. The pork and leek dumplings, the chicken and cabbage, and the pork and cabbage are all to die for. The pan seared shells are thin and crisp and the insides pack a lot of flavor. The chicken szechuan (sp?) dumpling were also very good but not as spicy as expected. After having all of the above mentioned dumplings, i moved on to the ramen and realized it was the perfect dish for a cold and rainy day like today, but was also light enough that it would make a good warm weather dish too. Obviously it had nothing in common with the college dorm version of ramen, the noodles here were really high quality and the veggies were fresh. I heard the desserts were good too, but I was too full to try on this visit. Instead, i grabbed some more dumplings to bring home to my wife and, as soon as she tried them, made me promise to take her here soon. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Highly reccomend a visit if in the area.

I started going to Dumpling Daughter two weeks after it opened and I have to say, It gets better every time i go. I've had almost everything on their menu and I haven't been disappointed yet. The service is quick and the owner is always available to answer any questions to give you a 5 star experience. The ambiance is quite casual but the food quality is that of a Michelin star restaurant. My favorite dish I have ever eaten at Dumpling Daughter was their Mahi-Mahi special with the miso ginger glaze. Nadia! I hope you are reading this. Please put this on the menu again! To keep it short, because I could go on for hours talking about my favorite restaurant in greater Boston, this is an excellent destination to have genuine Chinese fare at reasonable prices. Whether you live in Springfield, Boston, or even Burlington, VT, Dumpling Daughter is a restaurant worth the trip; your taste buds will thank you every time.

I really enjoyed my egg drop soup and pan seared mixed vegetable dumplings. To top off the night I had a wonderful mango bubble tea. And did I mention it is BYOB? Casual but nice atmosphere. Great for families or date night.

We just today learned about Daughter Dumpling on the Phantom Gourmet. We liked what we saw, so we went! And we're very glad we did. Located in Weston Center, it's a bit off the beaten track, but worth the pleasant drive. The space is quite appealing visually, having a very crisp, modern vibe with red accents throughout. And clean? Oh my yes. Spotless. There is plenty of free parking, and patrons are welcome to BYOB. We ordered Sally Ling's famous spring rolls to start. They were light and quite good. We then enjoyed seared pork and cabbage dumplings as well as petite chicken dumplings. Both were flavorful with tender skins. The Don Don Mien is a great noodle dish, with pork and spicy sesame sichuan chili oil. Our last dish was a Coco's rollup, which was a perfect scallion pancake wrapped around beef shank and hoisin sauce. What sets this restaurant apart from most other Asian eateries is the approach to accessing the menu. Patrons place orders, pay the bill, then place a number on a table. The ordered items then arrive straight out of the kitchen to the table, presented by servers who actually have smiles on their faces and know how to be polite and helpful. In this way, diners are able to order additional items as they progress through the meal. Order-as-you-go. We ordered once to begin, and then ordered again to try some additional items. Worked great for us. And the fact that we were able to bring our own bottle of wine also contributed to the casual experience. We could take our time to enjoy the authentic food offerings, and at the same time relax and converse over a glass of wine. The owner of this innovative operation is the daughter of Boston restauranteur Sally Ling. Nadia is doing her mother proud. She made it her business to come to our table and chat with us for a few minutes, as we had mentioned to a server that we were quite impressed with the food. She seems to be doing everything right, and perhaps she will one day think about a thoughtful expansion. We'll definitely go back to Daughter Dumpling.

Tried this place at friend's recommendation, what a great find. For our first time (weekday dinner on a summer evening, 2 adults and 2 young children), this place offered a pretty enjoyable and relaxing meal. The dishes are fresh authentic home cooked quick dishes, definitely reminded me of meals my mom or grandmother would make. The dishes we tried (3 different dumplings, the ramen, the beef noodle, bubble teas, steamed Taiwanese pork bun) were all very good, based on a palate that has tried food internationally, and particularly this type of food in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, LA, Palo Alto, NYC, Boston .... the food here is pretty spot on. This place serves xiao chi (Taiwanese home / fast food), and it does very well. I live in Wellesley Hills and am so thrilled we have a place like this just the other side of Rt 20. To get an authentic unpretentious fast and well-made meal from a friendly staff, keep the whole family happy, that deserves 5 stars. We will be back with friends.

FANTASTIC WONTON SOUP! I do not often write reviews but thought I would because I can't help but find myself going back to this place over and over again. What keeps driving me back (for my kids and husband, too) is the Wonton Soup. It is absolutely AMAZING. It is really hard to find a good Wonton soup, this one -- from the first sip, I knew was special. You can tell it is made with homemade stock and the flavor is rich. The dumplings (wontons) are also fantastic. I call it a bowl of pure bliss, -- it is so soothing, comforting and delicious at the same time. My family keeps asking for more... We are still working our way down the menu. We've enjoyed everything we have tried so far, but dishes which have quickly become favorites include CoCo's Roll-up, a scallion pancake with beef and hoisin sauce (we actually tried it after reading another Yelp review) and the pan fried dumplings. The steamed pork buns are also good. My husband ate the Filet Mignon dish so quickly, I can't even comment on it. I appreciate that the food is homemade with quality ingredients and not too salty (definitely no msg). I can get inexpensive, greasy, salty Chinese food anywhere but not good quality homemade dishes with the right balance of flavors (low sodium / less salt is really important). I've been to Dumpling Daughter since they first opened and over the weeks saw them work out the kinks of opening a new business. I order take-away regularly and it seems to work just fine. I hope this business makes it otherwise, I will have to start my search over again for another wonton soup. I love the convenience, too.

Very disappointing June 30 about 6:30. Ordered Captain Marden's Salmon. No greens, just salmon sitting on rice. Really boring dish. Took 15 minutes although several empty tables. Ordered (my entree) Spicy Tofu: took 25 minutes. No mushrooms, no greens. Tofu cubes on rice with an unreal, unidentifiable-condiment sauce. Lived in China two years. This Tofu was some sort of mistake thrown together in a hurry. A culinary-ingredient mistake to accompany the restaurant forgetting to prepare and bring the dish.

Great new addition to town. Spicy dumpling were to die for. Wonton soup was awesome on a cold day. Fried rice was a little bland. Coming back soon, maybe tomorrow

My second experience here and it was as good as my first which was about a month ago. Dumplings were flavorful. Bubble tea felt refreshing and boba was just right. Food is fresh and better than anything I've had in the city. Everyone is extremely friendly and the owner does her best to make sure each person is happy with their experience. Price could be a little lower but understandable. Would like to see more items added to the menu in the future.

Hi - I have been here twice now, and I hope they make it! Staff is a bit green (lots of people moving around, but order time is slow). That is (I believe) something that will work itself out. Quality of food is good and fresh - but they have to look into their meat-grinder. I found bits of bone/gristle in the pork and chicken dumplings - very small, but still annoying. Won-Ton soup was excellent! Delicate flavor with very good broth. Spring rolls were wonderful - crisp and filled with cabbage. I will be going back in a couple of weeks - I think they just need to get "into the groove".

Being heavily influenced by the Asian cuisine my parents raised us on, my family was super excited when we heard that a Chinese restaurant would be opening in Weston Center. However, we were disappointed by the quality of the food after getting dinner from Dumpling Daughter on Saturday. We tried the dumplings, ramen, pork and beef buns, and "Grandma's Meat Sauce Over Spaghetti" which was really jia-jiang myun. The pan-fried dumplings were better than the steamed ones, however they sometimes had some suspicious, hard and small bone-like objects in them. They weren't really "good" dumplings, but they were greasy and sweet so the flavor was fine. The buns had very little meat actually in them as they were mostly air. The frozen ones from Chinatown are cheaper and better. The ramen was most disappointing-- Dumpling Daughter was quite ambitious to try to cater both dumplings and ramen in the same house as a new restaurant, but I have to say that this was the most salty broth I've ever had, though the noodles themselves were good. The jia-jiang myun was salty as well, but not as bad as the ramen, as the flavor was still pretty good. It's a pretty expensive place given what it is and has small serving sizes when it comes to the dumplings and buns. They offer dumplings at $1 a piece and only six per serving. I'd like to see some non-carb dishes added to their menu as well. When asked what vegetable dishes they had, they offered cucumber salad or sticky rice with red beans; neither of which is a vegetable or a substantial dish. Chinese take-out is usually unhealthy/greasy but delicious and cheap, however, what Dumpling Daughter offered was rather awful and expensive (dinner came out to be $50 for three people). I certainly hope that this place can improve the quality of their food and give merit to what their intentions are.

Bland, lukewarm, late, expensive. If that's how you like your food, this place is for you! Ordered well in advance, and had to wait 15 extra minutes at pickup. Food was lukewarm, and seriously lacking in flavor. $60 for two adults and two kids. I had really high hopes for this place, as take-out is practically non-existant in Weston. Unless there are big changes made, I'd say they're gone by spring. NOT going back.

LOVE this place. What a refreshing change to have this in Weston. Had coco's roll up and the pork & cabbage dumplings. Both were delicious and came out of the kitchen with good time (the place seems to always be packed - we expected it to be much longer). I will be back again and again.

My wife and I stopped at Dumpling Daughter for lunch today after reading write-ups in the Globe and in Boston Magazine. We are fans of Asian food and were not disappointed at Daughter Dumpling! The food was original and unusual, and very tasty. The servers and Daughter herself were very helpful and welcoming. We will return.

Delicious!! Fresh, tasty, and plenty of options on the menu. We tried the veggie dumplings and the chicken dumplings. We are dim sum snobs and found these dumplings superb. My husband is not always a pork bun fan because the bun can be dry but he loved this one. Great place to stop in for a meal or snack -- we will be back!

If you like to pay a premium to have someone cook the frozen packages that you can get at any Asian supermarkets or wholesale clubs such as Costco or BJs, this will be a perfect place for you. The food is unimpressive. I ordered three types of dumplings: Petit Chicken Dumplings with Slow Cooked Sichuan Sauce, Pan-Seared Pork and Napa Cabbage and Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (weekend special). The petit chicken dumplings were the worst. They had no veges inside. The chicken meat tasted like defrosted meat without juice. I also ordered Three Day Pork Ramen, and only learned that Chinese restaurant is not where you should order Ramen. The noodles were not chewy and the broth was tasteless. There are better places for ramen at Brighton area. I don't mind paying a premium at restaurants if the food and service are good. At this place, the food is below average, portion is small and service is fast-food style. All their utensils are very Earth unfriendly. They provide plastic forks, knifes and cups. Paper plates are provided for sharing a dish. When our group was done, we threw away a ton of trash. I was basically paying a premium to eat below average food at an upscale neighborhood, covering their rent. When I am around the neighborhood next time, I will drive 5 more mins to go to some other authentic Chinese restaurants on Main St in the next town Waltham instead.

Been twice now, and will keep coming back. Casual, fun place for the whole family, especially my daughters, who love dumplings! The owner is very welcoming and makes sure everyone has a great meal. Ordering and delivery of food to table are both very fast. We have tried most dumplings, and love the variety. The Pork buns are our absolute favorites, usually we order several rounds. Salad also got rave reviews. The string beans on the special menu are great also. Definitely recommended! BYOB makes it even more reasonable. Interior is pleasant, but self order at counter keeps it casual. Most tables pretty spread out.

Just a lovely, delicious experience. A range of interesting, carefully prepared, tasty dishes...the dishes that were supposed to be crunchy were indeed crunchy, those supposed to be crispy and fresh (like the cucumber salad!), were indeed crispy and fresh, great work with noodles, nicely sauced, ditto the various dumplings, et al. Combine that with an accommodating, attentive staff led by a welcoming, gracious owner, and you have a great spot for lunch, a light bite, and anything in between. If the folks in Weston aren't sufficiently supportive (and it's hard to imagine that, but if they weren't...), we'd sure welcome you in Concord!

With 6 adults and a baby, we were concerned about how Dumpling Daughter might be able to accommodate us. Nadia was so helpful in reserving our table and even organizing our "family style" dinner choices! We loved the choices she made for us - especially the sichuan dumplings, filet mignon kew, and the jumbo shrimp - outstanding flavor!! The sliced chicken katsu was one our favorite dishes. The green beans were so delicious that one of our party asked for the recipe, and Sally took her email and promised to send it to her! No leftovers - none to take home . We will definitely go back to try some of their other dishes!, One of our best birthday nights ever!! Thank you, Nadia! Elizabeth

My wife, her friend, an I seen Daughters Dumplings on the TV with great reviews. Checked out the reviews on line, all looked good so we drove 1.5hrs to check it out for ourselves, wish I we never did... My wife is from S. Korea and I have lived in Japan and S.Korea and have been to many Asian resteraunts all throughout New England and NYC. I tell you this to establish our main diet is Asian food. I had the Gradmothers meat sauce on Spaghetti, it would be hard for me to give it 2 stars. 1st the noodles should not be spaggetti noodles, 2nd the spagetti noodles where not completely cooked. My wife had the Veg Ramen Noodles. You can get tastier Ramen from a packag at HMart., would give the Ramen 2.5 stars. My wife's friend ordered the Tofu rice bowl. All three of us would give it a 1 star. Taste was extremely strong (a mixture of mint and currie). It was so bad, we couldn't eat it. We also ordered the spring rolls, spicey chicken dumplings and the meat bread dumpling. Spring Rolls where just average (had much better) 3 star, the spicy chicken dumplings had no real taste (2 star) and teh breaded meat dumpling was mostly bread with little meat. 2 star.. Atmophere of the place was nice and friendly and the prices were good. Place was packed with people, so maybe it was just us and our taste for real quality authentic Asian food. We won't be make the trip again.

Came here at 6pm on a Friday night after reading a great review in the Globe. Needless to say the rest of Metrowest had the same idea, and there was quite a line to put in an order. My complaints end here, because once we sat down and got a table, the buns and noodles came quickly and were AWESOME! Everything we tried (pork and beef buns, pork dumplings, grandmas's spaghetti sauce, bubble tea and dan dan noodles) were so good. Even my 3 year old daughter was a fan. The portions were large, the price was reasonable, but most importantly the food was great. Also it's BYOB. Fantastic. I'm psyched that there is something interesting going on in Weston center, finally! We will be back and hopefully they will work out the chaos of the ordering line.

Save your time and money and go somewhere else. We stopped in here for dinner on our way back to Boston after a day trip to Concord. We were ignored at the door and had to ask a waitress passing by if it was open seating. She said it was and we found an empty table, only to be kicked out of it minutes later by another waitress who said there was a waiting list. She said there was another table for two available and I began to follow her (or so I thought), until I realized she wasn't leading me anywhere. I then went over to the counter where my boyfriend was waiting to order and started to talk to him about leaving when the same waitress re-appeared, literally pushing my shoulders to "direct me"back to the same table. Please mind people's personal space. In terms of food, it was just really bad. Dumplings were 100% not fresh and nauseatingly chewy. Pork buns were rubbery. Wonton soup was meh. On our way out, stepping over spills of water on the ground and through the general madness we passed many waitresses and a suited guy who was seemingly the manager, none of whom said a word - no thank you, goodbye, nothing. Terrible food, non-existent customer service, sloppy ambience. Hopefully I can save at least one person's time/money/experience with this review!

TO BE FAIR: This is my first review on yelp, but I had the opportunity to meet the owners of dumpling daughter after my folks and I enjoyed dinner there over the holiday weekend, and I thought I would share my experience to help them out. We had a great time. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was laid back and casual. That being said, I was apprehensive about going to a restaurant that didn't serve alcohol, but now I wish every restaurant was BYOB! I picked up a bottle of wine on the way there that I would have paid 3X as much for if we had ordered it in the restaurant (actually, I picked up two bottles, but we are not here to judge me). Back to the food, and let's start with the dumplings. Anytime I walk into an Asian restaurant the first thing I look for on the menu is some variation of dumplings so I consider myself a bit of a dumpling connoisseur. These definitely did not disappoint. We ordered both steamed and pan seared dumplings, and although I enjoyed them both, I was partial to the pan seared (as a American, I feel it is my responsibility to favor all things fried). The dumplings were definitely made fresh that day and they were amazing. We also had the cucumber salad which wasn't at all what I expected, almost like pickles, but very tasty. My Dad slipped in an order of the BBQ pork buns. Do yourself a favor and try them. Delicious. For the main course, we ordered one rice bowl and two noodle dishes (Soy Simmered Beef rice bowl, Braised Beef Beijing Noodle Soup, and Three Day Pork Ramen). We realized quickly that we had ordered too much food, but there are definitely worse problems to have. Although all the dishes were good, I think the noodle dishes were really special. Very different, fresh and flavorful. All and all, I was very impressed with the food which is the most important thing I look for in a dining experience. If I had any issues with Dumpling Daughter, it would be the way in which the food is ordered and delivered. All food is ordered at the register and delivered to the table which I actually liked, to be honest. The issue was that I noticed many people would ask a million questions about the menu once they got to the register which slowed the process down. This is a new restaurant, however, and I am sure by my next visit they will have the kinks worked out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I hope this review was helpful.

So glad this place opened in Weston. The food is really good, and it's priced really well. Ive been three times so far and the service has been great, especially given how many other customers were in there. I'll definitely be back soon and I recommend you give them a try.

So happy this place opened! Some of the best panfried dumplings I've ever had. The scallion pancake in the Coco Wrap puts Mei Mei's Double Awesome to shame. And the salads (I've had the grilled chicken, the salmon, and the glass noodles) are refreshing and light--the perfect counterbalance to some serious Chinese comfort food.

i dream about the pork ramen, i do. it's unreal. i am so grateful that i work close to DD, because i cannot get enough of it. i used to be close to gourmet dumpling house downtown, and was feeling a serious dumpling-sized hole in my existence because there are few places that live up to my asian standards of asian magic. thank goodness for you all!

My friend and I were excited to try this restaurant for the first time. It would be fair to say there were some highs and lows. We ordered dumplings, buns, lo-mein, and a special app of the day. First off, a word about the service. The server that helped us did not proactively offer things like chopsticks or water, we had to ask. As the restaurant is not your typical counter service, a little heads up on how things work, or what's available would be good. There were other minor things which had more to do with our server in particular, but it would seems that there are still some kinks to work out with the server staff working together as a fine tuned machine. Second, it was not apparent what order the food should come out in. We received each item as it was cooked, which was fine as we ordered mostly small plates or sides. I'm not sure if that's the way it would go if we ordered an entree or not, it was hard to tell from other guests. The wait time wasn't bad as others have suggested, as it's clear everything is fresh and cooked to order. Finally, the quality of the food. The dumplings and buns were spot on. Yes, I did ask for spicy chili sauce on the side as I err on wanting more flavor. The scallion lo-mein was not great. The noodles were full of oil, and there was just a few scallions on top. We will be back and will try more of the dishes, or perhaps stick with the dumplings, which were delicious!

I had heard good things about this place, but was disappointed by the food and the prices. It is a noodle bar. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I've eaten in many noodle bars in many cities. The food was pleasant but unremarkable and very pricey. The steam bun was dough-y. The soup broth tasted too strongly of turnips. I paid about $18. for a very ordinary lunch in a cafeteria-like setting.

It's a winner! Just back from lunch with my own dumpling daughter. Clean, well-lit place with friendly service--as you'd expect in Weston, and much better than you'd expect in a typical dumpling restaurant. Pan seared pork dumplings, steamed vegetable dumplings, and Coco's Roll-up (beef wrapped in scallion pancake with hoisin) were all very good. Plus, great bubble tea and Mexican Coke to drink!

My first visit to Dumpling Daughter did not disappoint. The wonton soup was delicious with very fresh ingredients and delicate (not doughy) wontons. Grandma's spaghetti was also very good - an authentic version of Chinese spaghetti. The dumplings were superb, again with fresh ingredients. Of the "buns" I preferred the pork version, and unlike many I have had elsewhere, the dough did not overpower the stuffing. It is wonderful to have authentic Chinese food available without driving into Chinatown. The restaurant itself, while smallish, is stylish, comfortable, beautifully decorated and gleamingly clean. Congratulations to the owner - I highly recommend this restaurant - I know I will be returning!

Our first visit tonight to Dumpling Daughter in Weston Center was a home run. Great food, pleasantly busy, and friendly and helpful staff. Weston is so fortunate to have a spot like this that offers casual dining with healthy, very tasty options with a new twist. Everything we ordered was delicious - can't wait to go back and make this a weekly dinner destination! Great job and congratulations Nadia and Kent!!

This place is authentic. I have been several times for lunch and everything has been very fresh and appetizing. The variety of offerings has made this a weekly visit for me. My favorites so far have been the Simmered Beef Rice Bowl and the dumplings (pork and chive was delicious). The meals have great presentation and the atmosphere/decor is very inviting and upscale. I live in Boston so would love to see a location downtown too!

Read the reviews before going and they seemed to be Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.. Unfortunately, my experience was Mr Hyde. Usually I'd try again in a while before writing a negative review since everyone can have a bad day, but my experience was just that unpleasant. We ordered takeout by phone and were told 15 minutes. We arrived after about 20 minutes and then had to wait another 15 minutes. So, over twice the length of what we were told. New place, it happens. When we got to the car, my daughters noticed that they'd forgotten the two bubble teas we ordered. Instead of just going to make the drinks, they spent a long time going back over the receipts first. The worker was having trouble making the drinks and the owner walked over looking as if she were going to help, but instead mostly berated the worker in front of the restaurant; instead, she should have made the drinks and trained him later. This made us very uncomfortable. Finally, the owner helped the procedure along until the drinks were made. Finally, she shoved them angrily intol my daughters hands as if they had been the cause of the difficulty. A smile, a thank you, and a sorry for the wait can go a long way. Hostility out of frustration is not a great plan for customer service. So, when we finally got home the dumplings, noodles, and buns were on the cool side. Food was actually okay, though a bit more pedestrian than you'd expect from the prices and from the menu, which features dishes beyond the typical asian fare.

FANTASTIC is simply the best word to describe Dumpling Daughter!!!! I've been wanting to try this place ever since I read about the opening and the history of the family's restaurant businesses in Boston Magazine a while back. You can read it here if you're interested (I'm too young so this was all news to me): bostonmagazine.com/resta… We've been here twice since it opened. The staff was kind and courteous and the food is delicious. One thing the area was missing is good Chinese food--especially dumplings! We've tried alot of the menu but our favorites were the pork and chive dumplings. Normally the dumplings I've had tend to be too doughy but the pan fried ones here had just the right amount of wrapping and snap when you bite into them. I can't recall having better ones. We had three Coco rollups which were filling but didn't feel too heavy. That pretty much goes for everything we ordered which was a nice reprieve from most other Chinese restaurants. I'm guessing this has to do with the quality of the ingredients?... We had the meat sauce over pasta which was delicious. It was a great mix of sweet and savory although one of my friends I was with much preferred the dumplings and left me to enjoy the pasta which was fine with me!! Definitely worth mentioning are the pork belly and chicken cutlet buns. The pork belly was perfectly seared (alot of places forget this part) and the chicken had a delicious sauce that my friend couldn't get enough of (3 orders!). Apart from the food, the layout is really nice. I like the concept and it seems like they added some traditional elements as well as some modern ones. All in all, we really liked it and will definitely be adding this to our list of places we frequent during the week. Look forward to seeing how DD's evolves over coming months! Thanks and best of luck!!!

I had my hopes up, but our first visit was not terribly good. 4 people having a dinner of soup and entree each totaled up to over $80. That's just a tad on the high side, especially if you compare it to the new Chinese restaurant in Wayland (China Rose Cuisine) where the food is more than twice as big and roughly the same price. To make matters worse, we took the meal home, and upon arrival, the vegetarian dumplings were missing from the order (not great news for the vegetarians in the room). I called and asked for a refund which they agreed to after asking me for a bunch of information (which I supplied). 20 minutes later, we got a voicemail saying they needed the information I had already supplied them in order to offer a refund, but that they'd be happy to offer a store credit. Way too much trouble for me, so I just dropped it. Food was not great, and parts of it had a strange smell. Unfortunately it was also cold and way too small a portion. Huge disappointment - like I said, I really had my hopes up. Good luck to them, and I hope they fix their problems.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
