Last day of a 4 day week end and we stopped by the Wicked Oyster for breakfast. Good choice. After a 5 minute wait, we were seated and asked about coffee almost immediately. We asked for coffee and a couple of Bloody Marys. They were yummy. When the waitress came back I the Huevos Rancheros while my wife had the corned beef hash and eggs. Everything was terrific... the eggs served perfectly over easy as we like them. The corned beef seemed to be home made and tasted kinda like the canned Hormel brand... which to me is a good thing. I mean I really like the Hormel brand, but don't usually buy it because "it ain't the best thing for ya." Why do the best tasting things have to be so 'bad' for the body? So yes, great service, nice decor and excellent food. Think I'll change this from 4 to 5 stars. Can't really think of a negative about this place. None of those gnats that Gastro N. had bothering him. Guess they took care of the problem.

Came here for brunch. The restaurant decor is adorable. Comfy. AC. With wooden tables w bench and chairs. The food was so average and flavorless which was disappointing. Service was average- had to Ask the server 3 times for a glass of water. The rancho eggs w scrambled eggs, sour cream, salsa, and black beans with flour tortillas was bland. The eggs Benedict was running. The pancakes were ok. The ham was fatty. Not coming back.

We were seated on the patio for dinner. Our young waitress provided gracious and truly attentive service: she was the best part of the meal. The trouble started with the bugs: we were eaten alive by small but incredibly aggressive gnats. One of us had 25 bites that left painful sores just on one arm. The management needs to do something about flying insects ASAP. We had a Nor-Easter for a cocktail: a very original flavor that took a bit of getting used to. We had oysters, mussels, and ceviche for appetizers. The oysters were ok but not very briny - a matter of taste. The broth the mussels came in was extraordinarily over salted: no spooning this sauce. The mussels themselves were large and tasty. Ceviche was a little bland. For dinner, we had duck confit, panko sole, and scallops. The sole was very well prepared and came with a generous portion. The duck was as expected. The couscous it came with was somewhat non-descript. The scallops were good but the risotto was too soft, probably over cooked. Overall, we were left with a feeling that the chef tries very hard but fails to execute on some basics. Unfortunately, the amount of the bill reflected pretensions that the quality of the dishes could not quite live up to.

Never disappoints, amazing food, great service. We had the chef's omelette and was delicious. We got the pancakes and were really good but next time I would get the French toast because that is special.

This review is for breakfast. It's a decent spot for regular breakfast with moderate prices. Nothing special but not bad either. The potatoes served with the omelette are very very good. The Bloody Mary was just ok. I like the fact that it was very clean and the decor is kept up well. We had the Greek omelette which was good not great. The veggie (maybe Garden) omelette was very good. The service was a bit slow but in general it's a great spot for breakfast compared to most of the other dirty and overpriced places around.

Love the breakfast! Simple menu with everything you need. Traditional Benedict was excellent and the coffee is so good! Good service and no wait to be seated. Happy customers!

Excellent, delicious breakfast served with grace! We split Huevos Rancheros, French Toast, Eggs, and the killer potatoes. The coffee was hot, the vibe exactly what we were looking for: a place to linger a little while perusing the NY Times and sleepily planning the day ahead. The space is great, too: wide, creaky floorboards, a wild, green garden through the windows, happy conversations all around.

Pretty standard brunch menu and average portions (not too large). Great location and a good stop to fuel up for the long ride off the cape.

We went for brunch and the resturant was half full, but we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated for a table. I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was just OK. The Benedict sauce lacked flavor compared to others I've had. We also share a single blueberry pancake and that was delicious. We enjoyed the bloody Mary's. I would love to try this place for dinner. This is a great brunch spot if you are in Wellfleet, MA and driving home from a weekend in Ptown.

You have to make reservations. This restaurant is more on the fine-dining side and people dress up to have dinner here but we came casually dressed and just ate at the bar. The staff behind the bar were great. I loved the menu options and prices. Sadly, the food wasn't that impressive. The new england clam chowder, yes! Very impressive! The wicked burger, not much. I also ordered the mussels which were big & plump and not fishy at all! But the broth was so disappointing! It was too creamy and not what I'd expected in a white wine sauce. I did ask for extra broth prior to ordering and they gave me an extra cup on the side. I like to use the mussel shell to scoop up the broth so the cup of broth on the side was really nice of them to accommodate. I think we may have ordered the wrong items. We saw other dishes around us which looked pretty good but I couldn't tell you how it tasted. It seems like people do love the breakfast / brunch so maybe that's when we should have dined.

Excellent value in the prix fixe dinner $25 for a 3 course meal. I had a yummy arugula beet salad with a fried cheese crouton. Grilled salmon with multi colored roast potatoes and clam chowder. All delicious and will definitely return next summer.

This was a great find recommended by a gentlemen we met at the beach today. The sole was so light with a bouquet of butter and lemon. The girls had burgers which were both cooked as requested. I had scallops with risotto with was also very good. Great coffee and the server was very pleasant and thorough.

Took the yearly Family vacation up to the Cape, we tried the Wicked Oyster for the first time for breakfast. We were all very impressed, go for the omelets, eggs are cooked to perfection. Staff was great too, our waitress was Sydney, she was excellent. We loved it so much we went back the next morning.

A solid brunch choice. If craving sweet, order the belgian waffle -- perfectly toasted yet soft texture, and the fruit (blueberries, strawberries, kiwi) is so fresh. If craving savory, order the eggs benedict. the ham is nice and thick (not the deli kind), the egg muffin is fantastic, and the poached eggs are lightly seasoned. Do NOT order the omelets. They are nothing special. The homefries are salty, but I like them that way. The toast is disappointingly soggy. Service is slow, but perfect for a weekend morning when you dont have anywhere to be, and good company to talk to.

Stopped in here again for Breakfast on our way up to P-Town - our meals were delicious and the coffee tasted great, not too strong as in last year's review. The Waffle with fresh fruit was perfect, not overcooked, it was soft when cutting through the Waffle. My Beacon that I ordered crispy and the Home Fried Potatoes were delicious! I cannot say anything bad about this place. There was plenty of parking in the back and just a few spaces in the front. As for the women's bathroom - it was clean.

Came across this restaurant by accident. Turned out to be a great choice. The prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. Visited twice for breakfast during my visit and was pleased both times. During off-season you should definitely call ahead to ensure that they're open. The menu was quite extensive and you should have no problem finding something to your liking. I had pancakes both times with pure New England maple syrup. Two people can eat breakfast for under $25, including coffee.

Blueberry pancakes! That's what I wanted and what I got. They were great. I didn't want anything else. My fiance enjoyed his bagel and lox. We sat at the bar since there was not a wait for that. Very hot in the restaurant however. I know they had AC since you had to close the door when you entered and exited to keep the place cool but it was definitely NOT working the day we went. Service was decent and we'd return. But, I'd rather just get the pancakes to go. Too cramped in there. I will say they have a dinner menu but it did not harken us back to the Wicked Oyster. Maybe next year!

This place was recommended to me and my husband for breakfast so we were really looking forward to trying it out. We loved the atmosphere and the wait staff. However, we weren't so impressed by our meals. My husband did enjoy his omelet but mine was disappointing as the little cheese and sausage that were included in the omelet were in a lump at one end of it. The home fries were very good but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the corned beef hash. It was terrible. It appeared to be fried mashed potatoes with so little corned beef in it that we couldn't even taste it or any other seasoning. We left most of it untouched. As our choice of breakfast places is limited in this area, we may give it one more try but frankly, for the cost (nearly $30 sans tip), we can probably do better.

So it was my sister in law's birthday and we had gone to cape cod for that day. My brother had made the reservations for dinner and we left the beach to make the reservations. Three of us ordered the duck which was delightful, my mom ordered some type of fish with a salsa? (not that great), but I think my sister in law got the scrod? which was recommended by the waitress and it got great reviews by my brother and sister in law. I would definitely recommend this place though it is pricey.

I eat here multiple times every summer when on vacation. The food is great. The seafood special of the day which is usually halibut is in a broth with little necks and pancetta is delicious. Lobster is usually on the menu in some form perhaps poached over risotto and cooked to perfection. Oysters served different ways are of course outstanding. Service is good. Sometimes at peak times there can be a delay in courses coming out but I do not mind this as I hate being rushed thru a meal. One problem that I do have is with the hostess with dreadlocks. She has a major attitude all the time. I am told by the locals that she is always like that. Seeing as she is the first person you deal with when stepping thru the door you would think she would have a more pleasant demeanor. Her attitude is poor and overwhelmingly negative. You are always wrong in her eyes. When I go out to eat I like to enjoy the entire experience. I like to be treated well and will tip very well for good service. The hostess needs to have an attitude adjustment.

My family doesn't eat out much when we're in Wellfleet - why bother when you can buy fresh oysters and lobster and fish at Hatches and eat on your very own deck? But once in a while we change from swimsuits into actual clothes and go out, and the Wicked Oyster is a more-than-decent destination. I'd choose it over Mac's for sure. The one thing on the menu you must absolutely order is the littlenecks & linguica appetizer. The rich broth has a delicious citrusy tang which elevates this cape cod classic.

On your way up to Ptown, stop here. This place is rustic, funky, laid back, local...just like Wellfleet itself. AWESOME food... everything from burgers to juevos rancheros, salads, great chowder, kick ass fish and chips, OYSTERS. They serve up a very good brunch menu complete with some of the best blueberry muffins (my heaven will have muffins) anywhere. Pair that with local coffee from the Wellfleet coffee roasters (the real name escapes me but the coffee is great) and you're golden. Check out the bulletin board if you want to rent a house, take a yoga lesson, buy shellfish, take a painting class... And the local art on the walls adds to the experience. It's not just any Oyster...it's WICKED.

With the closing of Aesop's Tables, the Wicked Oyster has now moved into the number one spot to have an upscale meal in Wellfleet. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very relaxed, although the bar has gotten rowdier in recent years. There's something for everyone on the menu: there's always a standard dish or two like friend scallops or oysters, but then there are more experimental things, and there's always one or two pasta dishes. Their wedge salad is delicious, as are their desserts.

Breakfast was amazing! I had the French toast with real maple syrup (go ahead and splurge for the real thing, you won't be disappointed). I also stole some of my husband's fruit & it made the French toast top notch! The coffee was served in a big mug and tasted much stronger than the usual weak coffee most breakfast spots serve. Even though my meal was delicious, I still had breakfast envy of my husband's meal - Salmon Benedict. The home fries (not hashbrowns as another reviewer wrote) were delicious! The poached eggs were done just right! Parking is limited in front, but there is more parking in the back! Service was a bit slow (there was no one at the front to greet and sit us) but I did overhear the waitress say they were short staffed. Hands down, probably the best breakfast I've had on the Cape. It wasn't our first choice when we ventured out for breakfast today, but I'm happy that we stumbled upon this lil' gem. Will be coming back again!

Upscaley, yet homey. That's how I would describe this neighborhood spot. Great menu (apart from the foie gras, which I find offensive) and yummy cocktails. Gracious service. The kind of place where you can go casual or dress up. Great lighting, interior. The veggie burger was delicious.

Parking is limited and hard to find, have lucked out each time but expect to get creative. We try to make it a regular stop whenever we are in Wellfleet, most recently a few days ago. Cocktails : we had reservations but got there intentionally a few minutes early in order to have a few cocktails at the bar. Very well crafted and tasty drinks. Worth making an effort for. Winelist : I'm not a Somm but I know my wines and the current winelist is a bit of a letdown. I really wish they spent more time curating and offered more uniqueness. Many of the cheaper wines are pretty run of the mill. If I wanted to drink them I'd head to Olive Garden. Thus, we brought our own bottle. The $10 corkage fee was quite reasonable! Will likely just do this from now on. Ordered crabcakes and the filet. Filet was perfection and I do like the bourbon sauce, though it was used sparingly this time - so more meat flavor came through. The crabcakes were pretty disappointing. Not the worst I've ever had, but they were dry and flavorless, basically just bread/filler. You needed water to get them down. Service overall was excellent, but it seems like the place is getting a bit stagnant. I'll be curious to see what its like next year. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been.

Disappointing !!!!! My wife had the most bland cod fish with no spice or sauce. The fish was fresh and a nice portion but we left over half as it had zero taste. My duck was small and all fat. It actually upset my stomach....... Service: The waitress was extremely pleasant ......when she stopped by. SLOW.!!!! It took 2 hours 15 minutes to get entree. Needless to say, we didn't get dessert. Nor did they offer it on the house or a drink. They did say "oh, I'm sorry" when I kept asking where the dinner was and when I told them the duck was not "right" Simple answer is either a bad night or just foolish or both..... Regardless, poor food and slow service means ....no return

Typically I check Yelp before heading anywhere. Unfortunately when we got to our planned destination, Moby Dicks, the line was all the way out the door so we just kept driving. We stumbled upon Wicked Oyster and decided to just head in. The restaurant is pretty big with multiple dining rooms. Our server was fine. We weren't wanting for anything throughout dinner. We ordered the crab cakes to split as an appetizer. I got the buttermilk oysters and fries and my boyfriend got the grilled filet minion. The food came out quickly. Our crab cakes were a total let down being pretty bland and tasteless. My boyfriend said he thought they were frozen but according to the menu they use fresh Maine crab meat. My buttermilk oysters were fried in a lot of coating. It was almost too much. Some sections of the buttermilk batter were actually still raw. I ate the half that were cooked through. The fries were pretty tasty. My boyfriends filet mignon looked amazing with thick grill marks crossing perfectly. He sliced me a piece to try. The meat itself was cooked to perfection. However, everything was slathered is a ridiculously saccharine sweet bourbon caramel sauce. I've never seen bourbon caramel sauce used on a savory dish before. I assumed reading the dish description that the sweetness of the sauce would be toned down but it wasn't. Not even a little. Imagine squeezing a bottle of Nestle chocolate syrup over a perfectly cooked steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. That's what this was like. Being on vacation I like to experience the local cuisine and dishes. I was a little disappointed in Wicked Oyster. It looks like their only locally sourced seafood are their few oyster dishes. Being on Cape Cod, more of their seafood and ingredients should be local! Overall the restaurant itself is nice and the service was fine but the food was a let down. I won't be back next summer.

A group of 7 of us popped in here over the weekend while passing through Wellfleet during Ragnar Relay Cape Cod. After our first round of drinks and taking our order, unfortunately it seemed as if we no longer existed. We weren't offered refills or checked up on at all. After spending the last 20ish hours running, we definitely would have loved some water refills. After 45 minutes (not an exaggeration, I compared the time to when I checked in on Foursquare) our food finally came out. Everything was fantastic. Huevos Rancheros was the big hit at our table, even for our gluten-free diners. It was well worth the wait! Their omelet list is pretty awesome and includes a few mix-ins you wouldn't normally find at a breakfast stop. We tried the Southwest and Shea's - both were great. Based on the ratings it looks like service isn't a regular issue, so I would definitely recommend having breakfast at the Wicked Oyster. .

Came with a group of 11 on short notice and they accommodated us pretty well split in 2 tables. Service was very friendly and they handled our large party well. Cute & cozy interior. Appetizers: Mussels. Really enjoyed them and you get A LOT for your money. Can share between two people. Ahi Tuna. Seated nicely but just OK, not a shareable size. Dinner: Clam chowder. Really good! Nice flavoring and thick. Surf & Turf. Lobster tail was disappointing, it was OK but expected a little more umph. Steak was seasoned well and the corn cake that came with it was good.

Went there for breakfast average at best. Service now that's a whole other discussion, and perhaps tainted my view on the food itself. I've heard about people being refuse specific request before but had never experienced it until today. When the waitress won't even ask the kitchen if they could add extra onions to some hashbrowns there something wrong. And I do mean a straight out refusal wouldn't even go and ask if the kitchen could do it just told us no they're not going to do it. Perhaps it's just in the season hangover, but I can find better ways of spending money.

We went for breakfast and the food was great. The hostess, possibly manager, was also very pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately, our waitress was by far the rudest server I have ever experienced. She was so incredibly unpleasant from the moment we sat down. We were a large party with a toddler and a baby, maybe this was too annoying for her. But I mean, it was breakfast, not 8pm on a Saturday. Maybe she was having a bad day. Who knows. Maybe not the most kid/family friendly establishment.

I've been coming out to our Cape house long before Wicked Oyster arrived. While it is a welcome addition, they've still not grown up. Service has always been a mixed bag. Esp. during high season, there's always been an attitude of you're lucky to be there. My main gripe comes at breakfast/brunch. Again, the food is okay, nothing earth-shattering. The issue is their nickle-and-diming you with things like a bogus $1.75 charge for "real" Vt syrup. Plus, they are in the dark ages with their lame, illogical substitution policies. The fruit's the same price as your crappy homefries, what gives? I hope they grow to be more customer-centric, & fast. I opt for Savory & Sweet Escapes for a tasty breakfast w/ a nice, helpful crew.

We ended up at the Wicked Oyster by default. In April not much is open around Wellfleet, and the place we thought was open turned out not to be. Driving around looking for an alternative, throwing caution to the wind we saw this and went in. Just in the nick of time it turns out - 10 minutes later they flipped the sign to closed. Lunch menu is fairly limited but offered ample choices for me and my wife. I like oysters, but only when cooked. I saw fried oysters on the menu and decided on that. My wife ordered a clam chowder and a Panzanella salad (which I had never heard of before; I learned some Italian today). My oysters were just ok. They tasted fresh,, but were a bit small and there was too much batter and that overwhelmed their delicate flavor. Maybe with the stronger flavor of clams this would have worked. For a side I elected for the black beans instead of fries. They were pretty good, with a bit of smoky flavor, perhaps a little too salty, and topped with chopped scallions. It came with a little salad but it's really a bit of a stretch to call it that. More like a garnish of a few pieces of greens. But nice greens, and dressed with vinaigrette. (To be fair, the menu did not claim that the dish came with a salad.) Why are many restaurants so stingy with sides, especially when it would add next no nothing to the cost? Probably part of the fault lies with diners, many of whom don't seem to care about the sides. The portion was on the small side. In truth, enough to fill me up, but smaller than I am accustomed to for a fried seafood platter. But at $16, reasonably priced. To add to my moderate disappointment, both the oysters and the beans were only slightly above lukewarm. I considered sending them back but they were just slightly warmer than that threshold. My wife loved her clam chowder; among the best she's had. A good blend of seasonings, rich, hot, plenty of clams. She liked the salad but claimed that it was not really a Panzanella salad. It did have the soaked old bread and tomatoes but it also had a lot of greens, which she claimed a Panzanella should not have (and my Wikipedia research corroborated), and also feta cheese, which makes it something different entirely. I had a rum and coke to drink: served in an appropriate glass, amply fizzy, not skimpy on the rum. She had a glass of house wine; no problem there. Service was fine. Dining room was attractive. Nothing else of note; not memorable but neither was it a disappointment. I might consider it again in the off-season when choices are limited.

Eh. Breakfast is better than dinner. (Terrible vegetarian options for dinner). Breakfast has a lot of good options--all are fine but never amazing. Service can be slow (to be expected in Wellfleet). Pretty place to eat but I don't go except for breakfast and only if someone else suggests it.

Another gem on the way to and from Ptown. It's a charming place with fantastic food. They have a number of healthy options. I had the spinach salad spiked with almonds and strawberries. It was then topped with beautifully seared scallops. It was, oh, so, good! Pros: -Clean establishment and happy atmosphere. -Good service. -Plenty of parking. -Healthy options. -Moderate to high prices. -Great location.

If you're in Wellfleet, it would be a wise decision on your part to eat at The Wicked Oyster. I'm from Michigan, so everything on the Cape is new and exciting, and if it wasn't for Yelpers, I would have no idea what is actually worth your time and money. Unfortunately the one star taken away comes right at the beginning. We walked in without a reservation and you would have thought it was the end of the world. The hostess made it very clear this would probably ruin her whole night but she was going to take a chance and seat us anyway. Luckily the bad juju stopped there and we laughed it off. The atmosphere is very cozy, with it's dim lighting and local art on the walls. Our server was extremely friendly and prompt. I can't remember her name but she was tall, thin, and had dark hair. Great job if you're reading this!!! I couldn't decide on the scallops or the filet. I mean, being at a place called The Wicked Oyster I felt compelled to order seafood but I was really in the mood for steak. Plus it was our last night on the Cape and I'd been eating seafood all week. Between the 2, our server recommended the filet so I went with it. Delish! I would say probably in the top 5 I've ever eaten. This filet was thickly cut, just as it should be. It was perfectly tender and cutable, and extremely juicy. And whatever juice/sauce they had with it should be bottled and sold on the black market. I was ready to lift my plate and tilt it right into my mouth. There were so many wonderful sounding things on the menu that I will definitely make this a stop every time I'm in the area. Or I might order that filet again. Who knows?

The Wicked Oyster reminds my of my grandparent's house - one of those big Colonials with wide-plank floors, a fireplace and the faint smell of smoke. This is fitting since it's a very old house in the village of Wellfleet, but I have to tell you... the food is anything but old school or stuffy. We ordered a smorgasbord of everything - mussels, Wellfleet oysters on the half shell (of course), filet mignon with mashed potatoes and an outrageously decadent sauce, burgers with fries and a lovely panko-breaded sole in a buttery lemon sauce. All of it was dreamy and good to the last bite - especially those crispy and light-as-air fries... And that filet... But really those briny, chilled oysters that tasted of the sea... Perfection. The service was attentive and friendly, and our waitress was especially helpful in selecting a wine to go with all of our dishes. She got it on the money, and we savored that throughout the evening, as well. Even on a very cold, windy night we found the warmth of The Wicked Oyster beyond comforting and lingered over our meal. It was a perfect evening, and I look forward to returning to this beautiful year-round spot that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Parking is a mess. We had dinner at 8:30pm on a Weds and the parking lot was difficult to maneuver to say the least. Service was spot on. The cranberry mojito was fantastic. The tuna sashimi and crab cakes were fantastic too!

This was recommended by our hosts at Fort Hill B & B. Great recommendation, too! Miss Mary and I had arrived for an extended weekend on the Outer Cape. It was our first visit to this wonderful region of beaches, sand, and glorious respite from the cares of work and the world (and it was off-season, too!). We drove down from Maine early Friday, passed through locked-down Boston, and were eager to get away from the 24/7 news fixation on terror. The Outer Cape couldn't have been more apropos. After checking in at our wonderful B & B, we headed to Coast Guard Beach and had spent the afternoon enjoying the sun, surf, and sand. By 5:30-ish, we headed into town in Wellfleet, a unique community just off Route 6. We hit a local wine tasting and driving back out of town, saw the Wicked Oyster, remembered our hosts mentioning it for dinner, and pulled into the half-filled parking lot. We grabbed a seat at the bar and our bartender came over and immediately started chatting us up. Cocktails in hand, and an interesting menu before us, with a good portion of it based on local foods, we knew we'd made the right choice. We started with some Wellfleet oysters, which were great. My wife had the scallops and I went with the pork chop. Both were done well, with great sides. Miss Mary's risotto was perfect and my chop, cider-brined, came with cheesy grits (always a treat when you can get them, outside the South) and carmelized apples and pears as the glaze. Lots of locals coming and going. Very friendly staff and while we were 4 hours from home, we felt like we were having dinner in Portland, with friends.

We love coming back each summer. The staff is always really friendly and welcoming. The menu is consistently very good. It's quieter than the restaurants in Provincetown, which makes it a nice place to see friends or catch up with family. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a quieter trip to the cape!

Very, very nicely done on all levels except service. We are talking about breakfast here as that's what we had and it was one of the best around. Nice menu, lots of options, well prepared eggs with flavor and not these huge gigantic portions that make you feel sick if you eat it all. Really an adult place with homemade food and fabulous coffee! Most places on the cape are over-priced and act like we are all still in college with loaded plates of mediocre food and watery brown water for coffee. As if you don't know what quality is. This was truly like eating at home if you are a very, very good cook. Service wasn't great, the hostess was a tad rude and the waitress took her time to refill coffee and bring water etc. but it's worth going back for the food.

Yum. We go here all the time. As far as local places go, in my humble opinion, this one's got the best breakfasts around (our options out here are limited). I usually always get the veggie omelet, though on my last visit, I got one egg, toast, home fries, and a fruit cup (plus mimosa). It was scrumptious, as always. I typically don't go for lunch or dinner as I have not found that they have solid vegetarian options. I don't remember the last time I did, but whatever it was that I had (clearly not that memorable), it's not on the menu anymore. Their current vegetarian dinner options don't look that enticing either...(veggie burger, salad, or grilled veggie appetizer...anything else?) I mean, I know this is a seafood destination, but I still feel left out. That's fine, if I'm looking for a good vegetarian dinner locally, I can go over to Mac's. They have great burritos, and it's nice to eat with your toes in the sand.

Finally made it here after several summer trips to the outer cape. Had the prix fixe dinner, a great way to sample a few courses. Chowder was classic New England, beet salad excellent with arugula and hazelnuts, the seafood stew simple in a subtle spicy tomato bisque. Extensive wine list, lots of yummy looking cocktails. If you're seeking a casual/ formal atmosphere with well executed standard fare, this is the place.

The restaurant was lovely, great ambiance, no problems parking. We had a reservation and were immediately sat. The service (and it may very well have been just our waitress) was AWFUL. I wish I could tell you her name, but since she never introduced herself, I'm not able. It literally seemed as though our presence was putting her out. As someone who has previously spent YEARS as a waitress and in the service industry, I truly did not know what to think of our server. She practically threw the menus down on the table and was so out and out rude to both of us that I could hardly believe it. She brought our drinks and appetizers but did not seem to appreciate that we didn't come in knowing what we wanted to order. We had to ask HER if there were any specials that night and she couldn't have seemed more annoyed to have to tell us what was being offered. Had the restaurant not been packed, I would have asked to be seated in a different section. In hindsight, we probably should have just paid for our drinks and left. The table directly behind us had the same waitress and the same service - perhaps theirs was worse, as the waitress dropped dishes on those patrons not once, but twice (mind you, with no apology despite the mess she left on the customer's khaki pants). She then proceeded to drop plates on her way to the kitchen. (And no, she does not appear to be a new server). We left the restaurant wishing we had gone somewhere else (our entrees were lackluster) and wondering if our waitress was on drugs. We are pretty forgiving people, but this is one restaurant that we would never return to!

If there were a half option, I would give the Wicked Oyster 3.5 stars. We came for breakfast and it was, admittedly, a busy morning at 9:30am. There were 5 parties of 3 or less on the wait list. The wait was not bad and we were seated at a cute table in the front room. Beautiful oil paintings of Cape scenes adorn the walls making the front room a cute spot for breakfast. We both ordered the blueberry pancakes and tacked on a side of potatoes and fruit salad. The pancakes were good and the potatoes were good as well - look out if you are on a low sodium diet though! Nothing about the food stood out or was exceptional. The coffee is strong, which I like, and they have soy milk which made my fiancé happy. The 1.5 hit was due to the painful lack of service. We had our order taken and then dropped off and never saw a server again. We ran out of water and coffee, finished our average breakfast and just wanted our check and had to wait for what felt like forever. A busser was nice enough to tell us the reason one of our waters was pink (the other wasn't) was bc the gun has cranberry on tap. In summary, as we walked to the car my fiancé said (unsolicited) "that wasn't worth it."

The Wicked Oyster is much more upscale than I expected after exploring their website. It had just opened for the season and although we didn't have a reservation and it was packed, we were seated right away. The service was a bit slow, although we'll chalk that up to it being opening night and all. I was disappointed with the salmon I ordered. It was definitely fresh, but a tad overcooked and tasted more like grill than salmon. The vegetables and pasta it came with were delicious and I have had their fried oysters before and those are amazing. It was difficult to have a conversation because of the noise level, which was surprising, and it's on the pricier side. I might try their brunch or lunch next time.

Cozy setting, delicious food. Prix Fixe menu had 4 appetizers and 4 entrees. We chose the steamed mussels and calamari for appetizers. Both arrived within 10 min or so -- and ample portions -- mussels were steamed perfectly; calamari was lightly breaded -- interesting dipping sauce finished the calamari. Entrees were salmon encrusted with pistachios, rice pilaf and a variety of veggies; the sole was delicious and came with rice pilaf and green beans crisp and fresh. Desserts a chocolate torte and lemon sorbet. Service outstanding. Casual yet intimate setting. Price point absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. We were seated promptly at 6 pm. When we left there was a line to get in on a Sunday evening out - of season. The word is out. Eat Here!

Arrived at 5:25 p.m. w/o a reservation on a Thursday. Seated immediately by a lovely lady who may have been an owner. Ordered from the seasonal Prix Fixe menu and were not disappointed. Lovely seafood, beet salad and deserts. Service was good, pleasant waitress. Only negative was my Maker's Mark Manhattan....very weak, uninspired and very little vermouth and the same for the bitters. Tasted more like Maker's and water.

I think it's good. Good food, and at lunch and breakfast at least, pretty good value as well. I've never gone for dinner because frankly, the menu just looks too pricey for me. Wicked O is a lovely, rustic old house open most of the year (they just reopened for the season a couple of weeks ago and I always imagine the dining room is going to be really loud at dinner with little soft surface to absorb noise - silly reason not to go but, anywho. Nice BLT on hearty rustic bread can still be had here for under $9 and that includes delicious fries - skin on, crispy, nothing frozen - mmmmmmm! I lean to the fried fish platter, a big light piece of fried fish (I think haddock) those yummy fries and cole slaw nd under $15 - a bit elevated from the run of the mill fish house. And although I usually get takeout at lunch, sitting within the house's rustic atmosphere makes an ordinary lunch a civilized experience! Too soon, they'll be closed at lunch all summer and only open breakfast & dinner. I really like their full breakfasts. Sometimes a delicious eggs benedict - with home fries and under $9??? - is the only way to start the day! If you like my review, please - click and let me know!

I was one of the friends that went with Barbara L. , and I could agree more!! Everything she said was so true..and sad at the same time. The hostess and wait staff really handled customers rudely!! I also agree ..the food was yummy!! Too bad ..these Bitches won't be going back!!

Went here for late breakfast with friends while on vacation based on good reviews. We were not disappointed- Among the array of food we ordered the standouts included: unbelievably good home fries, a delicious hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict, and a delicious order of french toast. Although the wait for the food was a tad bit lengthy, somewhat forgivable as a party of 6, our waitress kept our coffee cups full. Will definitely be back if I find myself in the area again!

A flawless brunch, and I learned something* - edulicious! The simple brunch menu runs 7-12noon, and tosses out a great spread of only mildly creative favorites. For $9, my plate overflowed with a superstuffed three-egg Wicked omelet (chef's choice), home fries and wheat toast. Today's fillings: diced ham, spinach and feta, all light and pleasantly balanced. And the eggs? Perfectly cooked throughout without a speck of brown on the exterior. Eggsterior? WORDPLAY AT 1:35AM! Sampling is what people do at brunch, and while I don't normally highlight items ordered by others in the group, I've gotta send love to two tastes from around the table. First, the homemade corned beef hash ($4 for a side) is a must-try. Heavily seasoned punching a powerful cure, with a crisp exterior and oddly devoid of grease, it'll go with any plate. Second, the house bloody mary. Killer spice and big straw thick, it'll sub any plate. Get one anyway. We caught the tail end of brunch and didn't wait for a thing. Three cocktails, four entrees and a side of hash for under $50? With stellar service and a welcoming household interior? On Wellfleet? Sold. ---------------- *One quirk: You can order a plain omelet for $5.75, and build your own with toppings running $.75-$1.50. But what constitutes a plain omelet? It's just the three eggs. Lost a bet over the absence of a standard cheese. Congrats Johnna M.

I really like this place. I've been twice now and enjoyed the fresh fish, and the low-key beach-club feel of the restaurant. I was here most recently for my brother's birthday over Labor Day weekend and pretty much everyone enjoyed their meal, with the exception of my mom, who I am fairly certain had the catch of the day. It was just a miss, the fish was overcooked and a bit dry, which regardless of flavor is never good. I had an Asian-inspired salmon entree grilled with a sesame oil and some kind of citrus reduction, alongside greens, zucchini and edamame. It also came with this little delicious fritter. It was just really good, perfectly cooked fish, great flavor, nothing over the top. All in all I'm sure we'll be back because The Wicked Oyster is definitely one of the better restaurants on the Cape.

After we had waited at bar to long for the table, hostess apologized and offered appetizer free of charge. Waitress did charge us for everything. Food was okay, but nothing special to remember. Waitress, during main course asked us if we like some bread? Now? Restaurant is very elegant and deserves better service!

I am originally from the cape and my parents still reside down there so I visit often. Each trip includes a trip to the Wicked Oyster. I love the food and drinks! Get the cranberry mojito and you will love it! The scallops are awesome everytime. The oysters are amazing! This place is consistently fabulous! The owners should be super proud of themselves!

Delicious food and nice ambiance! I wasn't in the mood for a heavy dinner. My husband and our group of friends decided to go to The Whicked Oyster for a late dinner. I didn't feel like eating, but I ended up eating from all my friends' dishes, my husband's and ordered my own entree. Food was yummy. I became a little piggy. I ordered Coriander and sesame crusted swordfish (with braised fennel and leeks, apricot couscous and a roasted red pepper sauce). Yum!! Highly recommended...

The Wicked Oyster is very good at just about everything. The service was great...the food was fresh and flavorful...and the decor was your typical upscale Cape Cod style. I take away a star because the stand out of the meal was a salad. The Wedge to be exact. It's awesome. The best wedge I have ever had. Homemade blue cheese dressing, tons of bacon, and a nifty presentation. Everything else we ate was great...I just wish that they stood out from every other pricey Cape Cod seafood place.

I would say this is one of the top three restaurants in the Wellfleet /Truro area. Amazing service!! The food is delicious. I had the tuna sashimi and catch of the day halibut tonight. Make reservations cause this place is fabulous and popular without feeling over crowded. My family and I come every summer.

My husband and I were looking for a nice place for lunch. We have a 6 month old and we never get a chance to enjoy ourselves. On top of that we live in the worst city ever and the only choice for a meal is Wendy's or Arby's. Soooo here we are on a mini vacay and walk into The Wicked Oyster. First impression: looks nice. Second impression: this place sucks. The hostess didn't even greet us. Threw down the menus and walked away. Wait...not even "enjoy your lunch". Ok I could look past that - she makes no cash and has to be there all day. But the third impression sealed the deal. The waitress had no personality and no skills with customer service. So here we are down the street at The Pearl. Can already tell this will be soo much better. Thanks to my hubby for following our rule :if you get a bad vibe - time to leave.

Vacation dinner is a nerve-wracking experience. I consistently find myself torn between the security blanket of familiar restaurants and attempting to try something new. I'd never noticed The Wicked Oyster until this year, and ended up going as an impulse dinner. After our first appetizer (a lobster cake) I started to feel sad, nay, downright embarrassed that I'd never come to The Wicked Oyster before. /and I thought I was knowledgeable with Cape Cuisine. psh./ All in all, this meal was the best part of my vacation. I had the lamb, fiancee had the duck, and we both spent our mealtime in perfectly cooked meat bliss. But one thing I beg of you, if you dine here: Get the seasonal tart for dessert. I promise it is the best thing ever. (also, make reservations, they fill up rather quickly).

I had higher hopes. The menu was interesting (for dead of winter outer cape), the reviews good, and the dining room comfortable. We ordered a really nice bottle of malbec and the evening was off to a good start. A bit of advice: If you go to a place with 'oyster' in its name located in Wellfleet, known for some of the best oysters in the world, by all means ORDER OYSTERS. I ordered the oyster special: butter-poached with asparagus and red pepper remoulade (see photo). The oysters were impeccable, but the asparagus way too thin to be meaningful and the remoluade and whisper of frisee didn't make up for it. The dish could be summed up as what we used to call 'nouvelle cuisine' (tiny and precious). Others in my party had beet salad with warm chevre (serviceable, but not outstanding) and oysters on the half shell (can't go wrong). Our entrees were all okay - nothing outrageous. Mine in particular, baked haddock with oyster, spinach, and parmesan stuffing was flavorless, although the portion size was healthy. By far the weakest part of the meal was dessert; limited options and most appeared to come out of a box, from commercial bakers like Sweet Street. We ordered the apple crisp, thinking it was probably made in house. I can honestly say this was worst apple crisp I've ever had. Not crispy, not tart, mushy apples, tasting mostly of uncooked flour. disappointing.

Went for dinner, early on a weeknight. Main room has amazing wide plank pine floors - but the hostess couldn't tell us how old the building was. The appetizer of "steamed mussels with pickled banana peppers and red onion, in a white wine-lime broth, served with grilled bread" was so good that I wanted a second order instead of a main course. The hamburger I did have was fine ... but the mussels were unbelievably good. Also, the odd bath-soapy-tasting lavender martini turned out to be a great complement to the herby mussel broth. Five stars for the mussels alone.

The menu looked inviting so we chose it for dinner. The hostess chose not to write down our reservation and stared blankly at us when we arrived. speechlessly, she sat us at a table. the waitress seemed uninterested and aemotional about her job. The water person arrived perfectly on time and smiled at each of us, though the waitress did not. The appetizers, duck and crab cakes tasted lovely and were delivered quickly. The calamari was served cold but we failed to speak up. We mentioned it only when the server took it away and we pointed out she had not touched it ad why. We ordered three glasses of wine but the Pinot was off. We had to ask our water person to find our server who acted as if we were wrong at first. our main dishes were flawless, filling and flavorful. the chefs mastered their skill, the others need to follow suit.

My wife and I were just driving around the Cape and randomly found this place. The oyster stew was out of this world. I can't put down in words how good it was. My wife just had a BLT, which was also top notch. Added to that, they know how to season their fries. Other good marks: friendly staff and good atmosphere. If you are on your way to Wellfleet, you shouldn't miss it. If you are on your way past Wellfleet, definitely take a break and stop in.

It seems our new custom is to brunch it up at the Wicked O right after checking out of our summer rental, to enjoy each others company one last time until we all depart from Wellfleet until next year....*sigh* Try and get there a bit on the early side, as this place gets jumpin' around 11am and you'll be waiting for a table (and parking). The brunch is rock solid. The omelets are wonderful and fluffy and fill me with brunch serenity. The french toast is obnoxiously good. And the side of corn beef hash is worth the hardening of your arteries. The kicker is that its all fairly priced. I've been here for dinner once as well, and it was inferior to the brunch. The dinner menu is well done, but the fish I ordered was overcooked and a bit sub par. I'd come back though - it must have been a fluke (no pun intended!!), as the brunch is pretty damned special. See you next year right after check out, Wicked O.

somewhat mediocre w/ a very limited menu. the pasta dishes are very rich, but nicely created with a good presentation, also well seasoned. mostly a small selection of main meals, and mostly fish. if you like fish this is a decent place to get nicely rendered meals at a HIGH price, which honestly doesn't match the quality and originality of the meals. fried fish is a common meal on cape cod, and this just DIDNT hit the mark. drinks where ok, but not excellent.

First, the brunch here is excellent, and the main reason to go to/frequent this restaurant. The best breakfast choice is actually the hash browns. Mind you, I'm not a hash browns fan usually, but they are just the right amount of crispy and spicy to get my top vote. I have tried the large stack pancakes, which are fluffy and drizzled with powdered sugar. A fine option is also the omelettes. The Wicked Oyster gets the right mix of egg and inclusions (vegetables, etc.) to make them great to start the day. Also, big props to the coffee. Second, for dinner, the restaurant doesn't quite match up. However, I would still consider the Wicked Oyster one of the better restaurants in Wellfleet for that meal. It's just when we went with a large group, there were enough people who seemed underwhelmed by their choices. The drinks are interesting as well, though some fall flat. I do like the beer selection however.

We have a house in wellfleet and always come here to sit at the bar, enjoy a really good dirty martini and some oysters. Over the years we've started ordering food too. I've had some hit and some miss dishes. The oysters are always fresh and fantastic, duck confit and peach salad is usually spot on, The pan fried sole is usually delicious, the mac and cheese just OK, as is the scallops and risotto. This past weekend we went and actually sat in the dining room as there was no room at the bar. We were both starving and ordered entrees. I had the lamb wrapped in prosciutto served with a polenta cake, grilled tomatoes, and a garlic cream sauce. This was the BEST lamb I've ever had, hands down. I will never order anything else again from the Wicked Oyster. I would have licked my plate clean if there hadn't of been so many people there! I'm already counting down the days until next weekend when I can go back and eat more lamb!!! Overall, breakfast is good and cheap, dinner tries a little too hard to be fancy, but a few stellar items on the menu make up for the mediocre ones. Service is always friendly and on point.

We waited such a long time for our entrees (and did not order appetizers) that I was too hungry to bother returning my dish when it finally arrived. I had ordered the "prosciutto crusted cod baked with a red pepper glaze and served over a lobster and snap pea quinoa, finished with beet puree." In reality, there was no prosciutto or red pepper glaze so the dish was very bland. The quinoa wasn't cooked and very dry, with one small piece of lobster and overly crunchy snap peas. The beet puree was cold and the fish only warm. My husband's filet mignon was not very tender. Not at all impressed.

We went for dinner. My appetizer was great, my wife's was not. But the appetizers arrived within a few minutes. We then waited more than 20 minutes for the entrees. My duck dish was disappointing. The duck was undercooked and overwhelmed by the truffle oil. My wife's filet Mignon was awesome. It was almost as if two completely different kitchens delivered our food. The service was acceptable and generally friendly. All in all it was not worth the $98 bill

Delicious! Great seafood entrees for dinner and the Oysters Rockefeller Tart is the best appetizer, if you're willing to wait for a table...but when in Wellfleet I think seafood should be cooked at home. I'm reviewing this place for the breakfast! Fantastic breakfast! The French Toast is particularly good, although the smoked salmon Benedict is a great choice, too. Any omelet is great. Delicious coffee and hot chocolate, and nice and spicy (with horseradish) Bloody Marys to really get the day going. They stop serving breakfast at noon, so don't dawdle. You'll be coming back a couple hours later for a plate of raw oysters...and another Bloody Mary! Open all year, this is a great off-season choice when out on those weekends away from the city.

My gf and I went for 6:30 dinner with her family. The setting is casual in the midst of charming Wellfleet. Our server was attentive despite the place becoming quite busy. Jillian and her daughter shared the butternut fritters with smoked tofu. I had a bite and thought it was mild and light and nice. Her son loved his clam chowder. J's hubby gave me a taste of his lobster bisque. I would go back JUST for that. Crispy lobster and a grilled tomato in the middle..wow...nice taste but it seemed luke warm vs hot. The best part of my meal was the bread. Not sure how to describe it but it was flat yet had a yeasty soft texture. I chose the EVOO but it came with roasted garlic. My entree was the roasted haddock in a lovely broth with leeks and fingerling potatoes. I love all aspects but not the fish. It was a tiny 4 oz serving and overcooked with the skin on. Jillian chose the panko crusted sole and honestly there was about 12 ounces of lovely fish. She enjoyed it. The others had the filet, scallops and chips and a burger. My tip before tip was 45.00 as I had two savignon blancs. It was a lovely evening with great friends.

The Wicked Oyster was "wicked good". Hubby and I stopped by last week during our Cape Cod stay. I'm going straight to the food because everything leading up to the food was outstanding . Hubby ordered the grilled black angus tenderloin, while I ordered shrimp risotto. While waiting for our main course, we indulged in raw oysters. The were fresh and tasty. Once our food came I must say I was said I didn't order the tenderloin my hubby received. OMG it was SOOOOOO good - very tender and the sauce was incredible. In comparison, my risotto was overcooked and bland. Thankfully, hubby was very generous (after his white crest martini) with his steak. We literally licked his plate clean. Great compliments to the chef for that simple yet tasty bourbon carmel sauce. We never made it to the desserts - DARN! The score would have been higher had my dish been as exceptional as hubby's.

Lunch was a disaster. Indifferent -to- hostile service, filth on the ketchup bottle and inside the rim, in which we couldn't interest the waitress who simply asserted the "wipe them every day." Gluey fennel soup, soggy fries and a dry flat lobster BLT. The six of us will not return for lunch. We remembered better, but at least at lunch it is going downhill.

  • Sasha R.

Decently attractive decor, and good wine selection but mediocre food at best, trying to be fancy - which makes the mediocrity even more obvious. Plus, the name is so misleading! They only have Wellfleet oysters, and the food isn't really seafood oriented. Additionally, I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but we all felt sick the next day: please pass the Prilosec OTC. Three stars anyway, because we had fun drinking and being rowdy, AND! our scandinavian waitress was HAWT! (according to my dad. I'm traumatized now. Years of therapy won't fix this) So yea. Wellfleet is small. You'll go, you have not much choice.

I'll give this one three stars although i would give the service and ambiance a higher score. My wife and I split the tomato soup and fig/falafel appetizer - great stuff although we only had two tiny triangles of pita toast with the falafel. I'm not big tomato-based soup fan but my wife really thought it was great. That followed with two salads - she had a beet salad and i had a "greens" salad. Although mine was tasty some of the greens were past their prime and i needed to send it back. It was quickly replaced. I had the striped bass special ($26!) but it was great. Nice lima beans and green onion puree around it. My wife had a the baked tofu with polenta and although the polenta was good, the tofu was too salty We drank glasses of a South African Brut and an Argentinian Malbec excellent). Dessert was a banana cake, excellent, and a creme something, pretty good, nothig special. Close call but i can't give it four stars.

We've been going to The Wicked Oyster for 4 years. Each time it has been consistently good. We normally go for dinner, but two weeks ago we went for Sunday Brunch. With a name like "Wicked Oyster" in Welfleet, you should order seafood. It is always excellent. The wine list sports a good selection of wines starting at reasonable prices. A friend suggested The Wicked Oyster. He knew the chef. We are very glad that he told us about this great Lower Cape restaurant.

A couple of friends and I went there for a few apps and drinks just before dinner time on a Saturday. The Hostess (rastafarian lady) was so rude to us! Not only did she express to us how we were getting the "last" unreserved table but also that we needed to "eat." Then after a couple of drinks and apps she rudely came up to us to demand that we finish our drinks at the bar, that she needed the table and snapped at us for not ordering entrees. We were leaving in a couple of minutes anyway considering we were finished with our apps/drinks but didn't think that kicking us out of our table was very polite of her especially after spending almost $100 on just a couple of drinks/apps and an hour of being there. But the final and worst part of her rude behavior was when we left the restaurant and left the outside door open (as did everyone that evening since there was a screen door as well) but she came outside and yelled to us "BITCHES" and slammed the door. I really don't think that her behavior is any way to be treating customers! It's really too bad the customer service sucked because the food there was delicious (fried calamari was lightly fried and so fresh - crab crakes were to die for) but considering how rudely we were treated by this hostess we will never go there again! There is no need to be calling your customers "bitches" just because you're in a bad mood or something! It's sad that the owner of this fine establishment has such a nasty woman at the front representing their restaurant. My 1 star is for customer service alone - I would give 5 stars for food and ambience!

The Wicked Oyster is alive and well--I had breakfast there just yesterday. I can only speak for the french press of loose leaf tea, the Garden Omelet and (as others point out) the very attractive waitresses and clientele, but truly, the omelets are out of this world.

A nice break from the annoying faubourgs of the Cape, the Wicked Oyster's attractive waitresses and clientele remind me that I am not on the edge of the world, but only a couple of hours from civilization. Great bar, ample selection of seafood that is thankfully not limited to oysters.

Really good pancakes, the home fries were excellent. Omelet was pretty good. Eggs Benedict could have been great hollandaise was awesome, but eggs we're overcooked.

  • Jas L.

somewhat mediocre w/ a very limited menu. the pasta dishes are very rich, but nicely created with a good presentation, also well seasoned. mostly a small selection of main meals, and mostly fish. if you like fish this is a decent place to get nicely rendered meals at a HIGH price, which honestly doesn't match the quality and originality of the meals. fried fish is a common meal on cape cod, and this just DIDNT hit the mark. drinks where ok, but not excellent.

Excellent meal with nice ambience. I had the herb crusted cod and a rosemary-lobster brochette over a pea and mascarpone orzo and a yellow pepper sauce. The wedge salad w/ blue cheese dressing and bacon was wonderful.

Went here for breakfast which was really good. The French toast is great and the omletes were perfect. The one complaint was that the service was really slow. Even after that I'd still try it for dinner.

In my years of going out for special occasion dinners, the Wicked has never disappointed me!! The waitstaff is professional and sweet, and the ambiance is perfectly Wellfleetian - classy with a rustic and funky edge. Try the calamari, filet, and a cranberry mojito!

  • Pinner B.

  • Pete B.

Best breakfast on the cape. Quality food and great prices. Good atmosphere. Parking is a bit rough.

A wonderful slice of Wellfleet life. Delicious fish and chips (and scallops and chips!) and a great scene at the bar -- my wife and I talked to locals the whole night.
