This restaurant was to be my treat. It is not cheap but the set up is. Plastic tables and chairs. I am writing this review because this was the worst food I have had for this price. The glass of wine I had was so woody that it tasted as if it had been open for some time. The vegetables were cold. Neither they nor the mashed potatoes were seasoned at all. The salmon was advertised as coming with a mango salsa. Instead it came cover an a cloyingly sweet sauce and was inedible. What a disappointment

The Bookstore never disappoints. We had lunch there 3 times during our recent jaunt to Ptown. Excellent beer and wine selection. I ate the freshest shrimp cocktail I have ever had. The lobster roll is great, the fries are crisp, and the fried seafood sampler is awesome (although I will note that I prefer a lighter coating, such as that at Moby Dick's). Superb raw bar, and the steamers are just perfect. We enjoy making the trip to Wellfleet every year!

Amazing views of Mayo Beach and Wellfleet Harbour. Very good clam chowder and decent oysters Rockefeller.

Went here with family, the seafood is excellent. We sat upstairs on a patio, nice views of the harbor. Definitely would come back. My parents said it sometimes was difficult to get a table, but we only waited a few minutes.

This is a great location with lots of outdoor seating and good views from many tables. Unfortunately that is the best asset as the food doesn't compare to the view. We did the artichoke dip and mussels as apps. I had to literally spoon the 1/4 inch layer of oil that floated on top. The mussels weren't bad, but a bit bland. The lobster salad was nothing to write home about, and the dressing lacked flavor, but it did have a good size helping of real lobster meat. My son had the steak that they served in a large bowl and made it almost impossible to cut it without grinding the knife into the side and my wife had the fruit if the sea. The seafood was ok, but the broth was bland and the pasta was overcooked. I would say keep it as a lunch spot or apps from the bar. The view is beautiful, but the food and wait don't line up to it.

We had a good dinner on a recent weeknight. Not crowded and we sat upstairs to enjoy the sunset. Tasty Dark and Stormy to drink, shared the wedge salad with lots of bacon. Our entrees were mussels in the wine butter sauce and the baked scallops. Both were delicious. Not a fancy hip place but good service and food for a Cape Cod dinner.

Mediocre food at an elevated price. The view of the harbor is nice if you're in the right seat. But my family went the last year and had a terrible experience. We used to go every year because the food is OK and we liked eating by the water. The waitress seemed really mad at either us or life itself. She didn't care about our child with a severe nut allergy. Drinks were never refreshed. Someone's order came out wrong. It took forever [not the waitress' s fault]. Overall we overpaid for what we got. We like to done where people, staff and ourselves, can be both be happy. Admittedly this was last summer, but when we considered our options this summer we passed because of our last experience.

Always good food and excellent drinks. Service pleasant and efficient. We always try to get here when we're in the area. Love the seafood reuben and the lobster roll. Chowder terrific. All the fish dishes are good also. Excellent especially when considering the reasonable price. Definitely a go-to place. And the view of Wellfleet harbor only adds to it.
