Awesome takeout/delivery and it always comes pretty quickly. They have great wraps and you have to order the pita chips if you get a delivery order. They are these amazing, greasy, delicious pita chips that they homemake. The bring enough for a group, so just order one bag for everyone and be a hero!

Definitely great falafel, and I've made homemade great falafel, so I have something to compare! Fast, and friendly service. Usually get it to go or sit on one of the 'pizza place style' tables an enjoy our falafel, or shwarma sandwiches. The portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable. Definitely not a sit down kind of place, very casual. Wish they were open later!

overrated. had their falafel wrap a number of times and it is reasonably good but not great - too dry and not much taste. service nothing special and no parking most of the time. one would think that their falafel wrap would be a "signature dish" but it is just average. for a much much better falafel wrap go down the street a block to the deluxe town diner. that's how it should be done, and at about the same price.

the falafels at fordees are super fresh! the menu is very extensive offering everything from traditional wraps and Mediterranean plates to a good ole hamburger. this is one of my favorite lunch spots and i would definitely recommend that falafel lovers check it out.

i can only speak to the falafel from fordee's, but i am giving it 4 stars. i will update once i have tried more. my family is addicted to the falafel from there - and we are from india, that says a lot. they will customize your order (more of one thing, less of another) and the falafels themselves are huge. one can easily feed two people. it is what my dad requested when he was in the hosiptal. that is the highest rec you can get:)

I go to Fordee's at least once a week for one of their yummy wrap sandwiches. The wraps are huge and they offer so many different combinations. The ingredients are always so fresh and the open kitchen is very clean. The falafel is perfect - crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. They also have two of my favorite ingredients for a wrap - roasted eggplant and pickled turnips. Usually when I go there, I order a wrap that is not on the menu and I love that the owner's son remembers exactly what I like in it. :) Once in awhile I switch it up and go with the Armenian Chicken wrap, which has grilled chicken, fresh veggies and Fordee's homemade heavenly hummus. The fattoush salad is also a generous portion. Fordee's is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.

I love this place. I never ate falafel before I moved to watertown and I now order from fordee's every couple of weeks. You can't go wrong with their falafel wrap or falafel platter. Delicious!

  • Ariel G.

i love this place! their falafel wrap is very good, as well as their home baked chips. everything else is very good as well. nice mix of american, Armenian/Greek food. definitely go here!

We've only had one falafel from Fordee's, but this a great little unassuming sandwich shop. I watched them making the order (not because I was nosy, necessarily--I had nothing else to do), and the kitchen was clean, the ingredients looked flesh, and my only regret is not trying this place sooner.

Fordee's is nothing too special, but it serves a purpose. They have good middle eastern platters, good falafel, and on top of all that, they've got good subs and fried food. I had "The Tip" sub the other night, which consisted of chunks of marinated steak intermingled with gooey American cheese, onions, and peppers. It was moist and delicious, and probably really bad for me. I've had their falafel in the past and have not been disappointed. Their steak subs are pretty good too. They do have odd hours though (closed at 5pm on a Friday night?). Otherwise, Fordee's is good stuff.

    (4)
  • Brian K.

all you need to know here is the "lefty" best chicken stir fry sub ever! the way they blend the cheese with their tasty chicken and top it off with a nice toasted sub roll..it cannot be beat. get it with teriyaki sauce. i am off to get one of these in a few minutes. only thing about this place is they just jacked up their prices not too long ago so it is now $10 for a sub and a drink. IMHO that is a bit too pricey for a quick take out lunch.

I've always passed up Fordee's on my way to Jasmine, but never stopped because it looks like a fast food takeout kind of place. One day, I just had that craving for lamb shawarma and demanded that we eat there, and what a great decision that was! Their food is reasonably priced and made fresh on the spot. They had run out of lamb for the day so we got chicken and beef instead. Incredibly tasty!

  • R A.

This place is great! They have a wide variety of pita wraps, which are all excellent for lunch. Their dinner plates are very tasty and they give you very good portions at a great price. The falafel is the best in the area, always made fresh to order, not sitting under a heat lamp all day like most places.

    (4)
  • Donal C.

Best sandwiches around. I love either the 'Tip' or the 'Lefty' hot subs. Wish they opened on a Sunday though, as I always seem to crave them on Sundays!

  • Jeff M.

Gotta love Fordee's. Best and freshest falafel in the area. Reasonably priced.

  • Pamela D.

I thought that this was hands down the best Chicken Shawarma sandwich i have had in a very long time!!! The chicken was tender and delicious with a creamy nutty sauce that paired perfectly with the pickled purple turnips inside. I recommend it highly!!!!

I've been a customer of Fordee's for a long time and typically ordered from them about twice a week. Lately it has gone downhill fast. From the people answering the phone being rude and not being able to tell apart losh from lamb, inability to handle a customer complaint because they made a mistake, sub-par food, it's all aggravating to the point where I will not be a customer anymore. It's as if they had a strategy meeting and worked hard to answer this: what can we do to make the customer experience and quality the absolute worst we can make it? And I'm afraid they have succeeded.

    (1)
  • Alex S.

The food is OK, but the people in the kitchen are completely incapable of handling the lunchtime rush. Yelling at each other, messing up orders, snapping at customers. This restaurant needs a manager very badly.

    (3)
  • Naira Q.

Stopped by for lunch today. Great chicken shawarma and salads. Large portions. Reasonable prices. Our order was filled correctly. But we couldn't help but hear and see the staff struggling to manage delivery orders (customers complaining of the wrong food being deliver to them). Overall I think it's a great place for pick up or dine in

  • Sherif A.

The Shawerma and Falafel are amazing. I am really happy this place is around it's hard to find good shawerma in MA. My brother found them accidentally walking around while we were grocery shopping nearby. After I tried the food I was so happy to find a place with the food quality I was use to when I lived back in Egypt.

  • R P.

This tiny shop is a gem. The Schearma beef is marvelous, best in the area. Everything is fresh and decently prepared. The Gyro is made from that lamb patty stuff, not freshly carved (who does that any more). Definitely, put this place on the lunch run list!

  • Christina V.

My mom and I have been going here for quite sometime since it's walking distance from our house. We used to go weekly until I started this whole low-carb thing and had to drop the pita bread. Their roll-ups are wonderful! Fresh and delicious and very quick and friendly service. My favorite roll-ups are the Greek, Ranch Chicken and Honey Mustard Chicken. I recently tried their Greek Salad w/ Chicken Shawarma and loved it. They also have some of the best french fries around. I definitely recommend this place if you're in East Watertown looking for a cheap eat.

  • Antonio W.

Excellent falafel and tabouli. Have been going here for years. I would also recommend the chicken kebabs. A quick and easy counter service Middle Eastern restaurant. I wouldn't travel too far to come here but if you are in the neighborhood, it's a solid choice.

Ordered food for 40 people 1.5 hours before lunch time. Owner made suggestions about how best to have food for 40 - combination of veggie combo platters and 4 different kinds of wraps - along with delicious pita chips, and delivered fresh. Really good food and it all went. This is also a go-to lunch spot for our development team when we have lunch meetings. Fast, fresh, reasonably priced. Very accommodating. Driver was friendly and helpful.

Great Falafel!!! Amazing food. Service? Well.. it stinks. Rude on phone, rude cashier, rude people making food, consistently. I wouldn't go back.... but their Falafel Combo Wrap, I cant stop.

  • Cassandra D.

I had a very very simple order: (1) order of grape leafs and (1) order of baba ghanoush. grape leafs: great. loved them. baba ghanoush: It was awful. Worst tasting I've ever had. WAY too salty and just too much garlic - I had to throw it away. I rarely throw away food. I'll stick with falafel king. I drove out of my way to get here because I wanted to try somewhere different.

I must say Fordee's has excellent customer service! I always appreciate a small business who truly appreciates their customers. My husband and I had never been here before so Vladamir was super helpful in assisting us in our decision making. He allowed us to try small samples of some of the dishes (we were clueless) We tried the chicken shawarma and LOVED it! The falafel was excellent as well. If you're in the mood for this type of cuisine you should definitely check it out! You can't beat the prices either!

    (5)
  • Kristin N.

What is the maximum order of pita chips one can purchase? And is it possible to make several separate maximum pita chip purchases? What I'm getting at is, can I cater an entire party with your delicious homemade pita chips? Pita chips! Aside from that, Fordee's has the most delicious Mediterranean wraps. The menu is extensive and the service is quick and friendly. True love comes in the form of a falafel wrap, I'm sure of it.

  • Eva P.

Great falafel place...Fresh ingredients, clean, and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back again!!

    (5)
  • Adam W.

On average we get carry-out here once every other week for the roll-ups. I love getting the Gyro, with a couple of falafel's thrown in. Adds an extra crunch!

  • Corey L.

I've been trying to go to Fordee's for a while b/c I've heard about them being good, but every time I missed their closing time or they weren't delivering at that time. So I finally stopped by to try it out. Got there, it's a tiny with a counter and like 5 little crappy tables. I asked the guy a bunch of questions and he answered them in the Boston way of wanting me to stop but being polite and answering. I got a Garden Salad for $5.50: it was a good size with romaine, cucumber, tomato. Not bad Falafel wrap w hummus: big, quite tasty, all the flavors really mixed well together. Solid falafel. Good price Good for what it is, take out Falafel place.

I've been to this establishment before, and the falafel had been delicious. My one star rating, however, has to do with what I witnessed while waiting for my order last night. I ordered two falafel wraps -- the falafel was fried to order, great, but took over 15 minutes to make. 15 minutes for street food? Come on. My real issue, however, is with who I assume is the owner of the establishment. He clearly had a backlog of orders and was running around the kitchen, screaming at his line cook, acting frantic and chaotic. In his haste, he took my falafel out of the deep fryer without gloves on his hands, he had just been attending the cash register a moment before, handling cash and credit cards from customers. In hindsight, I should have asked him to remake the food, but after waiting 15 minutes and watching this chaos, all I wanted to do was leave. The falafel was great, but the cleanliness and overall chaotic experience of simply ordering two falafel wraps leaves me to find somewhere else to eat.

  • Erin N.

Based on the food alone, I would have rated this place a 4 or a 5. The service, however, was TERRIBLE. I work nearby and ordered lunch for some co-workers and I at around 11:30 because Fordee's stated that delivery would take around an hour. Well, an hour went by and we had heard nothing, so I decided to try to call to check on the order. Their phone lines were disconnected or busy for the entire 20 minute period that I attempted to contact them. Finally, an hour and 45 minutes later, someone called to say our food had been delivered, and I had to leave a meeting to go pick it up. The food was good but if you are expecting delivery times to be nearly double your (already too long) expected delivery time, then you need to at least be available by phone, and should really be contacting customers directly. Again, it was a shame because the food did end up being quite good.

  • Food Maniac M.

This place used to be amazing. Not sure if the owners changed, but now you get terrible food with extremely rude and angrying service. The losh kabab is just chewed up hamburger meat with some onions thrown in. Save your money and mood, and look elsewhere.

    (1)
  • Mario M.

I have ordered the chicken shawarma plate number of times from here. It comes over a salad with tabouli, hummus and tahini sauce. For just under $10 I would say it is a pretty satisfying and tasty meal. I also ordered a side of pita chips, which were average... not good, not bad but got the job done. I would recommend this place, what is keeping it from 5/5 stars is the fact that if you are looking for great middle eastern there are other options, but this place will satisfy.

    (4)
  • Anthony E.

One star. Yes. This review is based primarily on service at this establishment and it is unfortunate, because I do like some of their food. I order food for delivery, well because I want it delivered to me. I get a call that my delivery was downstairs and can I please come get it. Well, if I wasn't in severe pain due to a lower back injury, sure, but anyway, I live on the 2nd floor of a new condo complex, I hobble down to the door and the woman tries to explain that one time a guy answered the door with no shirt on so she won't go to the door on deliveries. WTF?! Then don't deliver food for a living, or expect not to be tipped.

Since going gluten free I haven't missed anything but these guys falafel sandwiches! Always super fresh and yummy.

  • matthew h.

I'd give this place a higher rating if it wasn't a health code violation! Ugh, came in there last night and the guy who took my money than turned around to make my rollup and he wasn't wearing gloves. I noticed that NOBODY working there was wearing gloves as they handled bread and other raw food items. Has anybody else noticed this?

Fordee's is great. First, the prices are very reasonable. Second, the people working there move like they are on fast forward, just to get you your food faster. Third, they never forget to pack napkins and utensils, because that bugs me when they don't. Fourth, the food is always very fresh. Fifth, it's an open kitchen, and they are always practicing hygienic protocols. Sixth, and most importantly, the food is very, very good. I like Middle Eastern food anyway, but these guys are great. So far, I have had their grape leaves wrap, their red lentil soup, the side of grape leaves, and, of course, the falafel. The grape leaves wrap is great. They use a great big piece of lavash and wrap up vegetarian lemon and mint rice style grape leaves with hummus, tahini, lettuce, tomato, pickled turnip, and whatever else they feel like sticking in there. And it is good, very good. The grape leaves are strong (must be the lemon and salt), but are well-balanced by the other elements, and it is all very fresh. The lavash is very nice. The side of grape leaves is also nice. As mentioned, the stuffed grape leaves are very strong, as I think they kicked up the lemon and mint with a good dose of salt. The side is served in a good helping of olive oil, as nature intended. The grape leaves themselves are very tender and not at all stringy. it's a very good stuffed grape leaves overall. The red lentil soup was thick, like pea soup. It's not red, which is sometimes the case with red lentil soup, but it is delicious. There's not a lot to it. It came across as pretty much one homogenous mixture, but it was filling, and very reminiscent of pea soup in flavor as well. It was good. This brings us to the falafel wrap. The falafel made this wrap, which is good since it is a falafel wrap. But we already know the salad ingredients are fresh, and the lavash is very nice, so the wrap could have been very good even if the falafel were not. But they are! they are moist, and really well-balanced. No one flavor dominates, and it's not too salty as some can be. it really made me think I should have bought two wraps! So, I know I am easy when it comes to handing out 5 stars, but that's only because I don't generally like to yelp anyone that I don't think is worthy of at least five stars. These guys, for their flavor, speed, professionalism, cleanliness, and more, are definitely worthy.

  • Jake B.

The food is prepared really fast and still have a very high quality. We got the falafel which was perfectly prepared and french fries on the side. Surprising the fries was the best part. They were the most perfectly fried fries I have eaten in a long time.

I am a pretty picky eater, but I have to admit that Fordee's is the Best place for falafel in the Boston area!!! The staff is friendly and very attentive. The management is very in tune with what the customers are looking for in a great meal and an overall great eating experiences, never pushy and always courteous. I saw some other food going out and it looked fantastic. I recommended you try Fordee's and tell everybody. it is a safe bet for spending your hard earned buck, great food, great customer service, what more could you want when you go out to eat?

  • Steve H.

As the interior is tiny, I get the feeling that Fordee's does brisk business with take-out and delivery. You've got to try their falafel sandwich. It is simply delightful and tasty. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Ordered delivery from here last night - it was the fastest delivery I've ever had ever - literally 10 minutes! Falafel was good - crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside - flavor was good as well. Happy camper. Not the best I've ever had but certainly worth another trip sometime in the future. The grape leaves were tasty as well! not too bitter and nice lemon-y flavor. Both platters came with tabouli and hummus which were equally as tasty. yay!

If you have never had falafel in your life, and you are famished to the point of needing medical attention, this place is your spot. Otherwise it's not good.

Fan-tas-tic! Visiting Fordee's was a random drive-by moment. I must have driven by this place at least 100 times and just never seem to make the pit stop. Last night I did and I'm sorry it took so long. I went for the falafel combo which is the regular falafel wrap with your choice of added hummos, tabouli, or baba ghanoush. I went for the hummos. The falafel had the perfect texture and didn't crumble on immediate touch. The pita wrap was nice and cripsy. The turnip pickles were a nice addition to give the sandwich some bite. Our sandwiches were made quickly and the staff was more than willing to answer a few questions. I'm so glad I discovered this place. I will definitely be back!

  • N Z.

Really nice falafel and kebab wraps. The place is very close to my house, so I take out when I don't have time to cook myself. Everything seems to be freshly made. Pita crackers are a nice touch.

I do eat here a lot so clearly "yay, I'm a fan". Had grape leaves today for the first time and they had a lot of flavor, not too oily and the rice was tender and delicious. It filled me up without feeling full. Nice afternoon snack.

  • Nicole F.

I haven't been to Fordee's in a while, but when I lived in Watertown, we ordered takeout from them at least once a week. The falafel is great, the hummus superb, grape leaves are to die for! My most favorite thing on the menu though was their red lentil soup that they offered on occasion. It was really simple, but one of my most favorite soups ever. If it's available when you go, get some to try, I promise you won't be sorry!

  • Mike R.

This place was all right. If I were a local I'd probably stop by more often. The staff seem friendly, food is pretty good. Just didn't seem special, and the place looks like a low-budget shack. I'd give them 3.5 stars if possible. Maybe if I came back a few more times that'd become 4 stars.

My first meal in Boston. The falafel combo wrap is pretty darn good, if a bit salty.

    (3)
  • Anne R.

Delicious falafel wrap. I am a vegetarian falafel-lover and I have experienced both good and bad falafel. Nothing is worse than a bland and dry falafel wrap. Fordees, thankfully, is full of flavor. I got the falafel combo wrap, which has hummus and baba ganoush and I added eggplant. With their hot sauce? Oh man, you are in for a treat. That hot sauce really made the wrap. But judging just the falafel balls, they make very nice falafel so any sandwich you get should be good. Very friendly service, reasonable prices. I tried their gatta too (some sort of pastry dessert I had never heard of) and it was also very good. People were nice everytime I stopped in.

YUMMMMMM! let me finish my second Falafel wrap, OK .. How I miss middle eastern food, and yesterday we made up for it! beef shawarma, Falafel wrap was hot n tasty! worth the 20 minute drive from my house!

Just when I thought I found the best falafel ever in the whole wide world, I find this place. Hands down. The. Freakin. Best. Falafel. In. The. Universe. I don't care if the rest of the menu tastes like khara, this place is 5 stars in my book!

I forget this place exists so months go by when I don't stop in, but when I do I get the chicken schwarma- it's great! Quality ingredients so I look forward to making this a regular lunch spot and trying other stuff.

To keep it short and sweet: Outstanding falafel and fair prices. Service is very friendly although it can get a bit slow during the lunch rush; call in your order ahead of time if possible.

Their falafel was what my friends recommended me to buy. They definitely have it good. Just that I have found the best falafel somewhere else. But this came pretty darn close! Prices are reasonable for sure.

I am basing this review on their Falafel sandwiches which are the best around Watertown. Find a better place and please let me know. Hummus is good too.

  • Susan K.

Food might be good but service is slow slow slow and spent my whole lunch hour waiting for a little felafel... that almost made me think it was not worth it... Ugh... but after my hungry grouchiness subsided, I think it was and will give it another chance- but not during their peak hours!

I thought you had to go to New York to get the best Falafel. Fordees just saved me a trip. Almost everyone that I've taken to Fordees is now addicted to their sandwiches.

One fateful day a few years ago, I was out in West Cambridge for work and, starving, decided to look for food. About 3 minutes later I was just past the Cambridge/Watertown line and spotted Fordees. The sign said Falafel but I was very, very skeptical due to the name. Most of the falafel that is acceptable to an American palate really sucks -- even if prepared by Middle Easterners (I'm looking at you, Moody's). So, picturing an Irish dude making my falafel made me nervous. The falafel craving won and I went into Fordee's. I was kind or relieved when I saw a Lebanese guy behind the counter. I will preface this by saying that I am from the Middle East. I grew up eating great falafel with homemade hummus on freshly baked bread and it was like $2 for a pita as big as my head stuffed with deliciousness. That price will not be replicated, but this falafel would totally compete with the stuff back home. The hummus is also really, really good. I know I sound like a jerk but I don't care -- Americans eat the crappiest hummus ever. The first time I tried supermarket hummus here I gagged. It's grainy and dry and the flavors are wrong. Fordee's hummus was tangy garlicy creamy deliciousness. Whenever I'm in the general vicinity I drop in here. There are yummy pita chips to cram in your face while you wait and great falafel with great hummus and good veggies on tasty bread. I have never eaten anything else here and I don't plan on it.

  • Alex P.

Fordee's does an above-average falafel. They mix the chickpeas on premises, so its fresh. The Syrian bread is also made nearby and delivered fresh. The humus is also fresh, but nothing spectacular. Altogether fresh ingredients and a solid falafel. To mix it up, ask for hot sauce and pickled turnips.

Tips for ordering delivery from Fordees: 1) The falafel platter is fantastic and a bargain at $9. You get a little bit of everything 2) If you ask for extra pita bread, they take it seriously - with one platter I got 6 huge pieces. I wish I could say some of it went to waste but alas, I ate it all. 3) Who would think a falafel place would have delicious burgers? Not this girl, but I was wrong! Tasty and not overcooked. 4) The pita chips - $1.25 and YUM 5) They deliver in about 20 minutes in Watertown - be ready for that... I wasn't.

This place is the best of the best! As good as it gets! The food is SPECTACULAR! I mean, it is so good I basically crave it all the time. Mmmm. I want it all the time. I want it right now. There are a few other things about this place (besides the food) that make it the best. I be you are wondering what besides the food makes a place awesome? Well the guys who work there, that's what. These guys are so nice, I basically feel like family every time I go there (maybe because I'm there a lot?). They will joke and laugh with you and they always have the best attitude (I would too if I got to be in a room with their amazing food all day!). They even manage to be awesomely nice when they deliver. I'm telling you that there is no place better. I'm giving it 10 out of 5 stars. Try the stuffed grape leaves... and everything else.

Fordees was proudly displaying a Yelp plaque on their counter when I was just in there. It was much more than a "People love us on Yelp" sticker. It was a plaque type of thing and it said "this is our favorite Yelp review" and it had a review quoted. Looks like it was the one from Ray S. Anyway, Fordees is excellent. I got the chicken shawerma plate which came with hummus, taboule (sp?) and salad. So much food. i should have stopped eating sooner than I did. Co-workers got lamb kabobs they raved about and Greek salad with grilled chicken. They have an incredible menu, they are fast and the people that work there are really friendly. Plus, most of the Middle Eastern guys behind that counter are HOT! The place was freezing today but the guy saw me shivering and offered to put the heat on, which was nice.

  • Pat V.

That was no hyperbole from Stacy P! I don't know why it took us so long to try this place, but finally after living in Coolidge Square for most of a year we gave it a try...and have been there three times in five days! The roll-ups are my new favorite meal, especially the Popeye's Chicken (with romaine, red onion, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato, feta and Greek dressing); my daughter raved about the (NOT breaded) Honey Mustard Chicken. The menu is large, the ingredients very fresh, staff is friendly...oh yes, the prices are cheap and portions large!

This place serves a good falafel combo. It comes with pickled turnip and your choice of hummus or two other options. I get it with the hummus.

One of the best Falafel places I've ever been to, the falafel is freshly prepared and moist and not overcooked. Soooo nutty and good! The turnip pickles are also super delicious! The staff is super friendly and they have magazines to read while you are waiting. They also offer free delivery within two miles of the store. Andy had the Chicken Shwarma wrap this time and the chicken was flavorful and moist as well.

So Good!!! I had the combo falafel wrap w/hummus & tabouli, it was fantastic. Good prices too. Not fancy, so you don't have to dress up. I wish I lived closer.

How did I not write a review for this place yet?! Watertown is my new favorite ethnic hangout, and I always make sure to grab some food at Fordee's after hitting up Sevan and Massis. I've had their Falafel wrap and Chicken Kebab wrap. Both are SO good. I love that the falafel is not only flavorful, but moist. So often, falafel can be really, really dry... and that just ruins it! Susie A once came on a Watertown excursion with me and got a platter full of goodness: tabouli, falafel (I think), hummus, etc. So incredibly fresh and reasonable! I really want to get their salad next time. I've also tried the pita chips that they always have in front for samples. I'm so tempted to buy a bag, but never do. Never gotten the fries. The people who run it are always in a good mood. Friendly service really matters!

I like Fordee's. I couldn't eat here every day, but it definitely beats the pants off of the sad, flavorless falafel in my neighborhood. The chicken roll-ups are enormous. The menu over the counter doesn't describe what's in the special wraps (and it took me a few tries to realize that you could look at their printed menu to find out). Honestly, though, you can probably get anything you want on a chicken roll-up, and they won't mind. Everything is fresh, crunchy and flavorful. They have those yummy pink pickled turnips, and eggplant, and all the things you might want on the side. The fries are tasty, the selection of vitamin waters various and plentiful. I haven't tried the salads myself, but they look HUGE. And the lettuce here is never wilted or sad. A roll-up is somewhere between $5 and $7, which seems about right to me. Order ahead if you can. I've often waited around for a long time for my food during the lunch rush.

My favorite falafel in the Boston area. You should definitely make a stop if you're around Watertown. Order it combo style with baba ganoush. My one and only complaint is that they should warm it up in a sandwich press for a minute before serving it, because most of the ingredients in a falafel wrap are cold or room temp.

Hey. I've only been here one time and it was at the very beginning of a long road trip, but I was bowled over by their fresh, moist falafel. I don't know what else to say -- it was nice, large, had the cherished pickled turnip item that makes me go ga-ga, and it's one of those places that inexplicably will sell you a big cone full of fries along with your sandwich. Don't buy into that scheme, folks! I mean, I'm sure that the fries are great, but less is more. Your heart will thank you somewhere down the line, I bet. Very crowded here at lunchtime on an April Thursday afternoon.

Delicious falafel platter and lamb kabob. Will deliver to Newton if it's close enough to the Watertown border! Big fan, fantastic.

I have to echo what MC Slim boasts as "unequivocally the best falafel in Greater Boston" - I came here for the falafel and was not disappointed. got it with baba ghanoush and hot sauce, should have gotten it in a salad and skipped the pita, since its nothing special (for the whole wrap experience, I still prefer East Side Pockets in Providence), but regarding the falafel itself it really is by far the best in the area. I like Rami's for hummus and pita but have been consistently disappointed with the small size and amount per order of their falafels. It may be out of the way in Watertown, but its worth the trip if you are craving good falafel.

Misleading name almost caused me to miss what is unequivocally the best falafel in Greater Boston. I've added a new entry to my growing catalogue of "stupid reasons why I waited too long to try some restaurant": the unlikely name. I'd heard that Fordee's serves worthy Middle Eastern food, but it didn't sound very Levantine, which put me off. I was right about the name: "Fordee" Ford was the restaurant's original owner, an Irish-American. But I was wrong about the bad feeling: a Lebanese-American family bought the place years ago and kept the name for convenience's sake. So I'm grateful that local chowhound.com habitués finally convinced me to go, mainly with their rapt praise for Fordee's falafel. And what a falafel it is! It's gorgeous in that special way that unassuming, everyday foods can be. Its extraordinarily crunchy, unoily exterior is brown as a Brazil nut, a testament to adept frying; its interior pea-green, beautifully seasoned, creamy. Order the platter ($9) and you get four of these beauties plus very fine hummus (like nearly everything Lebanese here, made in-house from scratch), tahini, good tabouleh, radish-skin-tinted turnip pickles (packing a mouth-puckering, briny punch), lettuce, tomato, and a round of fresh, soft, fine pita. A chicken shawarma platter ($9) is generously laden with chunks of grilled marinated chicken breast, beautifully moist and flavorful, plus similar accompaniments, though you can replace the tahini with toum, a ferocious sauce based on pureéd raw garlic. The big, eye-catching salads include an excellent fatoush ($6), toasted strips of pita with a variety of greens, herbs, chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions, sprinkled with pleasantly sour, crimson-colored sumac powder. Cultivating the local Watertown crowd, Fordee's also serves Armenian specialties like a losh kabob roll-up ($8), meatballs of ground beef seasoned with allspice and rolled in pita with hummus and vegetables. Lunchtime gets packed with customers ordering sandwiches to go, like the justly popular falafel combo, which rolls a few falafels in pita ($6) with lettuce, tomato, turnip pickles, and a choice of tabouleh, hummus, or faintly smoky baba ghanoosh. There's quality American sub-shop fare, too, like 10-ounce burgers ($5.25-$6.50), cold-cut sandwiches ($6-$7.25), and hot subs like steak ($6.50-$8.25). Beverages are limited to yogurt-based ayran ($2.50) and American soft drinks ($1.25-$2). The room offers counter service and 16 seats in a spare, bright, spotless space before an open kitchen. Having finally tasted what might be the best falafel in Greater Boston, I will henceforth remember never to prejudge a restaurant by its name alone.

This place is solid. We've only been twice - but have tried a few things each time and everything was great. Falafel - yum! A couple different chicken dishes and yesterday beef chili - all hit the spot!

Definitely not the best chicken shwarma I've ever had, but they deliver to my work and have delicious hummus. I am still looking for the perfect shwarma in Boston...Fordees just isn't it :(

I stumbled upon Fordee's today and decided to try their Beef Shawarma Roll-Up. It was delicious and one of the best Shawarmas I've had in a long time (the last time I had anything close to being good was in Detroit, MI). The beef shawarma came loaded with beef, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and tahini sauce. I went just before lunch time, and it wasn't busy so I lucked out (as I've seen other reviewers say it's always busy during lunch). I'm definitely going to go back again and try their other items as the food is made fresh and fast. It's too bad they're not located close to where I live. In case anyone is wondering, here's the ordering information: Tel: 617-923-3673 (free delivery within 2 mile radius, $10 mile radius) Hours are: Monday - Friday: 11am - 9pm Saturday: 11am - 5pm

The best falafel I've had, apart from a place in the West Village that I stumbled upon when I was drunk a few years ago. I used to work on the same street as Fordee's and went once a week for lunch. The falafel is tasty, not too dry and the wrap comes with a choice of baba ganoush, falafel or hummus - they are all good but I recommend the baba ganoush. It's a good sized portion too. I had a couple of the chicken wraps too which were good but the falafel is king.

For now, I'm awarding 3 stars to Fordee's. Its got a mildly disinterested staff, but an above average falafel. I ordered one falafel roll-up and it came with a unidentified pinkish veggie (UPV vs. UFO). I didn't get an opportunity to ask what it was. Even though I don't know what it was i ate that was pinkish, the falafel was pretty good and pretty big - all huge bonuses. So, swing by and check 'em out and ask them what that pink veggie is that's throw in there. Even if you don't plan on ordering, just for me... i did have the pita chips here at some point ( I really hope that I didn't mention this yet...damn good pita chips. Get a bag and some tahini, hummus, guac, whatever you can to dip them in and chow down!!! In any case, check Fordee's out if only because they are the few places that have falafels, tahini, and good pricing. Not to mention, I think they even display the Yelp "accreditation' proudly. I'm sure I'll have more to add on this place in the future as I eat more frequently here.

I have ordered from this place ten different times and never been disappointed. The subs and dinners are just great. Terrible hours are its only downfall. Definitely one of the best sub places in watertown.

The falafel is fresh, flavorful and the portions are huge. The lady who sat across from me politely offered me some of her tea. (I was hung over and must have looked the worse for wear...) Simply put, I like this place. It's a little pricey for falafel ( 6.75-ish---- hummous wasn't included so I added it)-- but it hits the spot. I'll probably try a few other things and update as I go. Bonus: they have trashy Star magazines to read while you wait/eat. Whee!

I'm a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine. Fordee's is definitely a solid, if not superb, means of getting my fix while at work. The beef schwarma was good; however, Fordee's does not have the rotating spit cooked variety of Schwarma. Rather, they have some refrigerated schwarma that they toss on the griddle when you order your platter. EG, their schwarma is reheated for you. The stuffed grapeleaves are excellent -- a bit too oily, but still an excellent dish. The hommus seems to be homemade; either that, or it's the best store bought variety I've ever had. Overall, I'd say Fordee's is a solid lunch spot. If you're a fan of middle eastern "fast food" especially, give it a shot.

Great felafal sandwiches and irresistable homemade pita chips make this an excellent lunch destination. Their grape leaves platter are also delicious and very generous. Highly recommended!

I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said, but I just had to share my love of Fordees. They have the best falafel!! I usually get the falafel or the chicken shwarma roll, but have also gotten the fatoush salad, which is HUGE. Both the chicken and the falafel have always been perfectly moist and so flavorful and delicious and these are some BIG sandwiches. I wish they were open on Sundays!!

Ordered a falafel rollup close to closing, and found that the falafel wasn't as fresh as if I had gone in the middle of the day. The veggies on the rollup were nice and tasty, and the size of the rollup itself was enormous. The moral of this story is to go during the day, not when it's closing - the flavors are better.

Great cheap food here. I pretty much only get the falafel wrap or the beef shawarma, but both of these are delicious. The beef shawarma has a delicious flavor unlike any other shawarma I've had. They also include pickled turnips in both of these dishes. Pickled turnips, fyi, are incredible. The service is also fast. A great place to grab an easy lunch.

Great falafel, shish kabab and salads. In the winter they serve a tasty lentil soup that fills you up and keeps you warm. Pretty much everything on the menu is under $10 and the portions are generous. I get two meals out of the shish kabab dinner plate. As others have noted they do get busy especially at lunch time so if you are in a rush call and place your order.
