Look, I'm not what you'd call a DD aficianado...hey, I had the opportunity to experience the jelly donuts at Hanley's in West Roxbury when that hallowed hall of bakery excellence was still in business. And that was as close to donut heaven as we'll see on earth. So why does DD's at 49 Mt. Auburn St. rate 4 stars? Consistency. Speed. Service. Let's start with the coffee. It always tastes like Dunkin coffee should. No variation, so no unpleasant surprises. Service alone counts for three stars. For the number of people they serve at the businest times of day they don't make mistakes and move everyone along super fast. There are never any long waits here - even during the busiest rush hours. Any efficiency expert could take a lesson from the managers and the people behind the counters. Here's another reason: Although DD's no longer makes the donuts on site, this location never runs out of anything. Considering the number of people who patronize this location their supply chain management never fails. That is impressive. If you're looking for the cafe experience, this is not your kind of place. It caters to commuters, construction workers and tradesmen, and people in a hurry. There is no atmosphere here. This is not fine dining. On the other hand...if you need a quick bite to eat and something fast to drink and don't like surprises, this works every time. This ranks with the best Dunkin Donuts locations I've ever visited.

Freakin' awesome people who work here. Fast service. Clean. Pretty spacious. Bathroom to both customers and non customers (me the latter occasionally). Hot coffee. Well toasted sausage egg and cheese on a croissant with those mini hash-brown bites. YUM.

This Dunkin Donuts has gone downhill in the two-plus years i' have lived in Watertown. The biggest change is in the staff turnover. i find many of the staff rude and unfriendly.. They are not customer-oriented. Orders are frequently wrong. My friend who is black says he experiences racism when he goes there. I find them disorganized. I was last there on Saturday and the bathroom was dirty with overflowing garbage. The only thing good about this location is that there is parking.

So I'm supposed to meet a customer at the "new Dunkin" in Watertown. This is considered new, I guess. The parking lot is a train wreck waiting to happen, and the DD is located literally a stone's throw from Starbucks -- which made me ask my customer, "Why didn't we meet at Starbucks?" Silence. Evil stare. Me: "Just kidding!!!!!!" Silence. Iced tea was good, table was clean, service was friendly. Lots of natural light, with a lovely view of... The bad parking lot. I don't know what I expected.

Evidently I'm a regular at this Dunx, since I've been there twice in a week. Dunx is okay. As a recovering former Starbucks employee, I've grown to appreciate their low-brow coffee and food alternatives. Some days, I just need a shitty cup of weak coffee with some milk and sugar. The vanilla chai (a powder mixed with milk, comes in size medium only) is a tasty afternoon pick-me-up. The service is speedy at this location, but I gotta say, I don't understand their deployment- this is a franchise-wide issue for me. I never know where to get my stuff, or who makes it.

I'm not writing this about the coffee or food. We all know what you're going to get when you go to dunks. But I have to say, this is the best run DD I've ever seen. I've lived near by for years, and they will have a line outside the door on a Sunday. You'll be out with coffee and bagel in hand in under 5 minutes. Amazing. Clean, friendly, fast. All you want from a DDs.

This place is an efficient machine. Sometimes I wish it took more time to order, pay and get my coffee -- but most times I'm in a rush like everyone else. Parking is ample and easy, it is open late, the people who work there are NICE, its clean and my favorite part? It is quite the hangout for elderly people at all hours of the day -- drive by at 11pm on a Friday night and you will see them sipping a coffee and chatting away. Yeah, it is Dunkin Donuts - seems silly to rate it; however, with extra points for speed, friendliness, parking and neighborhood charm? It is a special DD!

I like this Dunkin Donuts. It's clean and the staff is very friendly. The donuts are fresh, the coffee is hot, and the guy behind the counter doesn't mind that I can't keep a straight face when I order my usual. "Chocolate Stick and a Big One, please."

Great Dunkin Donuts. They make coffee the best in the area, and are SUPER fast! Parking lot is tricky, yet there isn't ever a real problem finding a spot. And this specific location gets VERY BUSY, so watch walking in the parking lot, people driving DO NOT check for pedestrians!!! Minus 1 star because: A. Donuts cost $.99 here, and only $.92 at my local DD and B. This Dunkin Donuts doesn't have a drive thru, and incredibly there isn't 1 DD Drive-Thru in Newton OR Watertown. (Dunkin Donuts: PLEASE add a drive thru in Newton or Watertown!!!) Overall, good Dunkin Donuts and MUCH better than the other one on Mt Auburn Street (SO COME HERE!!!)

Couldn't understand any of the workers, very poor English/communication skills. Bagel sandwich was barely edible, donut munchkins tasted like bland balls of dough and the service was very slow. No wonder they don't have these crappy establishments on the west coast. There is a great Starbucks within walking distance of this dump.

It's ok, staffs inconsistent, donuts are eh, (not always very fresh) but the coffee is always fresh. Sometimes the short line takes forever and a long line can fly.
