I stopped there yesterday . They have an impressive selection. I picked up a loaf of cheddar cheese bread and it is almost gone. Also, I got oatmeal walnut bread which I am sure will be equally good. They also have muffins and other baked goods. It is right next to the post office and I would highly recommend Old Town Bread.

Yes, the owner is a bit of a character. However, I still accept him as who he is and LOVE his cupcakes. Kathy of Byfield

I have been there 5 times. I like to support local businesses and it's right near where I am on Friday mornings so I was hoping I had found a nice little bakery that was convenient. The first two times I got some muffins on a Friday morning for my family for Saturday. They were pretty good, but a little small. One muffin is not enough, but two was too much. The price was right for the size though, $.75. Each of these times the owner made me feel like I was really ruining his day by actually wanting to buy is muffins. I went back the third time on a Friday, around 11am, and asked if he had any muffins. He gave me an abrupt "no" and turned away and walked out back. No "sorry I'm all out" . I figured I'm a little late getting there that morning so he's all out. I went a few weeks later, again Friday morning at around 10am. I walked in and asked if he had any muffins because I didn't see any on the shelf and thought he may have some out back. This guy turns around looks at the shelf then turns back and says " I don't see any" in the most annoyed tone you can imagine. Then just stares at me. I said "oookkkaaaay" and left. Finally last Friday I went in at 8:15am figuring he can't be sold out then. Bad sign, there's no muffins on the shelf , but he's out back in his apron so I think maybe they're just coming out of the oven, oh yeah fingers crossed, so I ask "Hi, got any muffins?" all he says is " not now" and turns away. I left and laughed to myself and thought that this guy is like the Seinfeld "Soup Nazi". So i did an LOL when I saw Bob from Winchester had the same experience and thoughts in his review. At least you could get soup from the "Soup Nazi" I sure couldn't get a muffin though. I got to agree with Bob from Winchester, this guy is not pleasant nor does he seem to care. I won't be be going back and I would avoid this place if I were you. This guy doesn't deserve your business.

the owner of this establishment has got to be the most disrespectful and rude man I've ever come across... his bakery goods are OK, nothing spectacular.

Very good bakery. The scones, in particular, are perfect. Not too cake-like, nor overly sweet. The breads, cookies and turnovers are also delicious and taste like they're made of high quality ingredients. But the baker/owner has a real issue when it comes to interacting with his customers. I've been there many times and it always feels as though he's rushing me out the door as soon as I step up to the counter. Very short and abrupt, not pleasant. He's kind of like the Soup Nazi, but with baked goods. Perhaps he should think about taking an interpersonal communication course at a local community college. Still, the proof is in the pudding and his baked goods are extremely good. You just have to decide if being mistreated is worth the cookie.

This is a small little bread bakery located in Rowely next to the post office. It has an old town feel to it , But the breads are excellent and priced reasonably. Most of the times in the morning the bread is just out of the oven. They also make some pastry and cookies. The hours can be tough as they close early. If you go when they are open you be happy with a fresh hot loaf of bread!

Was cycling on my road bike from W. Newbury on a 44 mile ride, and I happily came upon Old Town Bread Co. I decided to check them out, and am glad I did. I love scones, when they are done right, and I'm happy to report, their scones are done right. They had a choice of blueberry, or orange/coconut. I chose the orange/coconut, and am glad I did. It was terrific. I took a few bites, wrapped it up carefully and tucked it into my pocket to enjoy at the end of my ride. I highly recommend their scones; so reasonably priced. Perhaps I'll be able to try their other products in the future.

This morning, for the very first time, I tried this place. Last week, I had picked up a loaf of their bread at Marini's Farm Stand. It was delicious, so I thought I would stop by the source. I got 2 scones. I had the blueberry today & it was wonderful. I want to add the the baker was in the back when I entered clearly making bread. He asked if I could wait a moment. He was helpful & very pleasant... He did not have whole wheat today, so I will go back to get some. By the way, the price of the scone was $1.25, now that is amazing for a hand made scone in this area....
