Never again. Expensive, weak drinks and mediocre (at best) food. Beautiful setting on the beach though.

Excellent clam chowder and lobster bisque! Our waiter had great recommendations of what to order and what things could we added to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good seafood restaurant.

Such a joke. Don't bother getting a table/seat even if it overlooks the water. It's not worth it because everything you order will disappoint you. My party of 4 were escorted to the bar when we requested a view of the sea, only to realize ourselves that all the seats at the bar were taken. So we returned to the hostess who gave us a table, but seemed to be absolutely bothered to do so. Look woman, I don't know what your issue is, but if you had know seats at the bar were taken, you wouldn't have escorted us that way in the first place to make fools of ourselves. We sat down then at our seats and it took our waitress awhile to preset our menus that I had to ask another waiter to do so.... After we ordered our alcoholic drinks (with no alcohol in it, very weak) and the chicken fingers with fries, I was just disgusted by this restaurant. For charging such a fine penny for chicken fingers and fries ($16), it was pretty much a similar quality to frozen chicken fingers and fries because the breaded chicken shell fell apart as soon as my friend cut into it and the meat was as white as snow. It looked undercooked and unappetizing for lack of a better word.. Just choose a different spot if you want to spend your money decently, and read your loyal Yelp reviews guys..

Nice people, but there was a lot of shell in the lobster salad. Also: if you're going to serve drinks in plastic cups, you're not allowed to charge $6 for a single ear of corn.

Went here with some friends and were seated right away on the upper deck. First off, the views from the upper deck are incredible. This place really features some of the nicest vantage points from a table that Ptown has to offer. For my meal, I decided to go with the fried cod sandwich which was served with french fries. While Pepe's has a decent tartar sauce, the fried fish as a whole wasn't too impressive to me. It was decent enough, but not anything to write home about. The service was friendly, but as many other Yelpers have commented, the chairs are not very comfortable and are quite close together--especially at the four person tables. Overall, this place has a remarkable view, but the food was underwhelming.

I have enjoyed Pepes Warf for years. Enjoying a rasberry Lime Ricky on their desk with a lobster roll used to be on of my favorite sunday afternoon past times. Then I had a child. It started last summer with the anti child attitude at Pepe's. The host down stairs that looks like David Spade hates children and will do anything possible to keep you and your well behaved children out. I have been back 4 times since last summer with the same result. It is disappointing that they hate children and would even treat a regular so poorly over a child. They don't even have high chairs.

Great views of the bay from the upstairs bar. We have only had drinks here and enjoyed them on the back deck. Bartender Kevin is fast and friendly. This was the second time back in a week. Enjoyed a mudslide and it was very good and hit the spot. Check it out when you are in town. Hope that helps.

The best part is the location because the view is excellent. You can sit outside and enjoy the harbor. Greg was a great server and never missed a beat. I had the prime rib and it was cooked more than I wanted but tasted fine especially with the creamed horseradish. The mashed potatoes were blended which I am not a fan If but the green beans were cooked perfectly. One of us got a burger and she enjoyed it, basic and simple. The other two had baked stuffed lobster and it was good but didn't wow us. Remember the meat isn't as sweet because you are not in Maine. Great drinks and if you have the right company it's a wonderful night!

Terrible service and food. The wait staff is friendly however the management has a poor attitude. My jumbo shrimp came out overlooked and dry. My waiter told me that was how they were prepared. When the manager came over I was told to order something else instead of having my order remade. Very disappointing it seems this place only wants their regular customers in there and assumes everyone on the cape is a tourist. Avoid this place.

I'm so beyond infuriated with this restaurant. McDonalds has more class. Plastic lawn furniture with your $30+ entrees..? Get a clue! It all began two years ago when I suffered a horrible incident of food poisoning after eating here. I had some raspberry lime rickeys and enjoyed the ocean view and ordered one of their chicken specials for lunch. Later on that evening (roughly 10 hours later) I began violently vomiting... from both ends. After very expensive hospital visits leading to antibiotics, missed work days, and just overall feeling horrible for days... I survived. Now... two of my local friends suggested we go back there. It being 2 years since my last visit, I decided to give them another chance. Everyone makes mistakes, right? I ordered a raspberry lime rickey and started to have a grand old time. Our server had more tables than one should be handling... he was juggling far too much. We placed our orders... and I had a detailed conversation with the server about how I liked my steak - bloody - BLOODY! RARE! ....... So... about 20 minutes went by and our meals all came out.. I was disappointed when my steak came out and was well done - gray even. I apologized to the server explaining to him that I couldn't justify a $33 surf and turf being overcooked... he then looked at me and said "That's well done to you?" ....my whole table agreed with me... this steak was way overcooked. He then said he would take it back and replace it. A HALF HOUR went by and still no steak. My friends had all completed their meals and the server had come back at least twice without a word about the whereabouts of my steak. I then felt bad that my friends were waiting for me and decided to cancel my order so we could just continue our night. The server was sassy and snide about it! He put on a ridiculously fake smile and gritted his teeth - it was really quite the performance. We then received our check and settled up. Being the avid yelper that I am, my friends pleaded with me to speak to the manager and rectify the situation before I came home and wrote them a bad review. I thought... alright.. I will. As we were leaving, I asked for the manager, and he announced himself. He was directly next to a table of diners, and I suggested that we move aside so that we may discuss in private. He told me "Oh no, we can talk right here." Whatever... your call, dude. I began to tell him about the experience and was met with an argumentative disposition. He claimed that I ordered my steak "medium-well"... HA! Lies! That's ruining it! I would never! We went on... I told him about how I really wanted to give the second steak a chance but after a half hour... (and I was cut off) he even flailed his hand at me and told me that he timed it and it was 12 minutes. Again... another lie. At that point, I figured it wasn't even worth discussing it with him. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Do not give them a chance! $30+ entrees to be seated on plastic lawn furniture is absolute buffoonery! The service is far below par. Attitudes like this are truly an injustice to Provincetown. Get your act together or put the place up for sale. RUN! RUN! RUN! There are plenty of other restaurants on commercial street with much more class!

We ordered food to go at the bar. The bartender offered us water while we were waiting and we got drinks instead. It wasn't a long wait. I really liked my lobster roll, which was stuffed with lobster! THe fries were yummy. My partner liked his grilled tuna with rice. Definitely wish we were able to sit on the deck but no time. beautiful view of the ocean if you are able to sit there.

I felt concern about eating at our usual go to place in the east end after reading several yelp reviews. So happy we took the chance. The server was fantastic!!! He was honest and informative. He helped us order two excellent dishes-- the stuffed mushroom ravioli and the seafood trio (scallops, shrimp, lobster) over linguini in a light sherry butter tomato cream sauce. The salad was fresh and lightly dressed with grilled Parmesan as a garnish. The Portuguese kale soup was tasty. The French bread that was paired with the pasta dishes was absolutely delightful! And great for dipping. The downsides of the experience were very uncomfortable chairs on the outside lower dining deck, the coffee was tepid at best and I don't like walking through the smoking section in order to be seated for dinner. There is a huge parking lot adjacent to the restaurant that one pats a fee to enter. We ate plenty of food for under $80-- would have tipped easily to $100 had we ordered drinks or deserts It was well worth every dollar. I will return again!

9/2/15. Had a great lunch! The views are beautiful! We love sitting at the bar. Suzanne (bar staff) is always great - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable! We had the cod sandwich which was perfect. The host was pleasant which is much better than two years ago! A great dining experience!

The drinks are strong and bar service is good. We had a couple apps, which were just okay. I recommend it for the view of the water, if you can get a seat!

  • Marie B.

Very pleasant server, very nice view. However, I ordered the $25 sword fish and it was a bit overdone and everything on my plate was tepid. Additionally, I warned them I had a shellfish allergy and then the server brought me a spoon so I could share my boyfriend's clam chowder. Nice gesture, but that sort of cluelessness is worrisome. Not worth the prices.

  • Kory K.

Ordered the fish and chips. $20 for the meal only got me one piece of fish, but it was delicious. The fries were luke warm, but whatever. You're definitely paying for the view at this restaurant. The service was excellent, as well.

  • Steve A.

I love food, and I don't mind paying a great cost for a great meal.... That said, if you charge $80 for a spinach artichoke dip, two sandwiches, and 2 cocktails, I would expect far better quality that displayed here. The drinks (while large) are extremely diluted and pricey. The seafood, while very fresh, isn't much beyond average and is of course also very pricey (this is how we get to $80 for lunch, kiddies). The service isn't bad, though it's not OMG wonderful either... Bottom line: This is a tourist trap, plain and simple. I got trapped, you should walk on by and find somewhere else.

Beautiful evening on beachside porch, muscles were plump, juicy and delicious. Arugula salad with perfectly grilled shrimp was terrific, also enjoyed calamari appetizer. Tony was personable, friendly and professional, we plan to return this week to have the lobster roll!

{2.5 Stars} So you're walking down Commercial St. and suddenly your stomach growls, it's time to eat! What do you think you'd be looking for a good lunchtime restaurant? a) Great view of Provincetown Harbor. b) 2nd floor deck with ocean-y breezes. c) Uninspired food. d) A staff with a 'I don't want to be here' vibe. All of the above!? Then Pepe's Wharf Restaurant is your spot. The host downstairs greeted us with a smile and suggested we sit upstairs to enjoy the view. The deck is a nice size with a bar and plenty of plastic tables/chairs, but all eyes were really on the view, which is fantastic. Our waitress, who immediately gave off that "ugh- can I go home yet?" attitude, gave us a ridiculously long time to review the 1-page menu. When she finally made her way back she ended up taking out entire order, but not before telling us that 1) Pepe doesn't substitute and 2) was out of a couple of the appetizers. It was 2pm... how are you out of things already? So no mushroom risotto balls for us. Bummer. Food finally arrived at the table and waitress disappeared. Item #1: Grilled Portobello Mushroom with Bleu Cheese, onions & a Balsamic Reduction {$12} and was fantastic. I don't even like mushrooms but had a bite and the plate was so meaty, so rich so creamy and just so good. This item is really the only reason this spot should get anything close to 3 stars. Item #2: Fried Cod Sandwich with fries {$15}. Fish was fried up well but really the sandwich was just typical. Nothing stood out and it lacked a little flavor. Item #3: Chicken Bacon Spinach Tomato Goat Cheese Panini {$16}. Talk about typical... this sandwich was step below. Super thin slice of chicken, not so crispy bacon, and the absolute minimum amount of cheese made this sandwich not worth it. For $16 I expected a substantial piece of meat. Like an actual chicken breast, and seasoned at least! There was NO flavor to this sandwich at all. Sure, it was edible, but why would anyone order a meal that has no flavor, no spice, nothing in it? Oh and it comes w/ chips... like a $1.50 size bag of Cape Cod Chips they sell in vending machines. Ugh, such a disappointing meal. {Note- I asked but was rudely told Pepe's doesn't substitute. So if you don't like tomato and wanted roasted peppers instead- you are out of luck.} I wish we were in Provincetown longer than a few hours- would have loved to try out another restaurant to make up for the uninspired meal I had at Pepe's. Go, enjoy the drinks and the view, but be careful what you order to eat.

The Mushroom ravioli with truffle butter is truly heaven in your mouth! By the look of the place it was unexpected to get something so expertly crafted and one of the most delicious meals I've ever had!! GET IT!!!!

So in fairness I was contacted via Yelp by Pepe's. I was told they were operating for 47 years without high chairs and children are welcome. Nothing says welcome like "no high chair for you" He also explains that rancid smell was the work of DPW and not a restaurant issue. Ok hopefully the smell is gone with your visit. I'll stay on the high road here and say it's still a great location on the water to eat in PTown. As for managements attitude maybe next time instead of a tip I'll leave a gift certificate to Dale Carnegie!

Good service not great food. Bland Portuguese soup. Bland lobster roll. The only taste to the fried calamari and fries was the old oil. Won't go back.

The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the vew and pretty good service. Our server was friendly and attentive, but god, the food was lousy. The $24 fisherman's platter had two shrimp, 2 scallops, and a dry and tasteless fillet of some kind of white fish. A few fries and a tiny blob of mostly mayo cole slaw was all there was. The only thing I found tasty is the clam chowder and the lobster rollls aren't bad. A lot of money for very little.

Well I didn't have the chance to eat here but my review is with regard to the experience I had trying to get a table with my husband and infant daughter. Like bill b stated, we were made to feel very unwelcome. We had our daughter in a stroller with the car seat insert. We parked the stroller outside and carried her in in the car seat. Immediately we were told they didn't have high chairs (which was fine). I asked the hostess if we could sit outside by the water and just asked that we get a table with an extra seat so I didn't have to put the car seat on the ground (if you have a baby you understand that and don't want people tripping over your baby and the baby also likes to be on your level). Another hostess brought us out to the patio and pointed to two tiny two top tables and said we could sit there. One of the two tops was in a very high traffic spot where I wouldn't want to put my kid on the ground and the other was so close to the other two tables there would have been nowhere to put our daughter. There were two four tops also available so I pointed over to them and asked if we could sit there and she said no! Those were for four people. Seriously?! I explained why we didn't want the two tops because we would have nowhere to put our baby and she still refused to seat us at the four tops. I could understand this if it was busy or they were on a wait, but he entire inside of the restaurant was empty and it was still early. Despite politely insisting she still only gave us two options which would be very uncomfortable for us being with our baby so I said forget it and we left I will say that every other restaurant we dined at during our vacation was very welcoming and accommodating to us despite being with a baby.

We were walking around PTown last night looking for a nice spot to grab dinner and found this place. The service was excellent from the guy at the door to our waiter, all really friendly. The food was good and the view is beautiful. We had shrimp cocktail, salad, clam chowder and mussels. You are really paying for the scenery here, but we were happy with the experience and would return.

Overall, seafood was a hit with our group. Healthy amount of lobster on lobster roll. Lobster bisque and lobster ravioli was also very good. Waiter was a bit inattentive which resulted in some slowly served and luke warm appetizers. Drink and beer menu were OK. Outdoor seating is beautiful.

We ate here the day after my husband proposed to me in a canoe on a small lake in Orleans, so I was, as you might imagine, in a very happy mood. Everything we ordered, from the clam chowder to the fish and chips to the lobster salad, was delicious. The service was a little slow, hence the one docked star, but the view was awesome and when we weren't busy staring at each other and giggling like fools, we were watching sailboats cruise by and little kids fly kites on the beach. The margaritas were pretty good, if memory serves, but to be honest they could have served me margarita mix with no booze in it and I probably wouldn't have noticed. Pepe's is definitely on our list of P-Town destinations.

Was wandering the streets in and out of the shops and I seen this place and it had a deck on the top. So of we went to have a drink. Me my girlfriend & my two adult kids. I have to tell ya the place is spotless,& Tim our waiter was awesome! I can honestly say that I had the best ever expresso martini in my life!! Was soooo good I had to have another. It was very strong, very big & very tastey & the dirty rocks on the side actually had some overflow in it!!! TWICE!! Had raw oysters that were good as well. Course I was watching all the food as it went by us and it looked awesome. The view was fantastick. I could have spent the entire afternoon there. Absolutelry going there again and I will plan on eating a meal. Ask for Tim.. He was awesome!!

We had an amazing lunch here. The five stars are mostly for the ridiculously good drink our waiter sold us on. it was called a "Raspberry Lime Ricky" and it was made with Raspberry Stoli, Gingerale, Cranberry Juice & Lime juice. The view of the ocean was lovely and the weather was gorgeous and we were seated outside. We had peel & eat shrimp, hummus and pizza. Everything was delicious. But really, go there for that drink!

Had a great lunch here this weekend. Lobster Bisque served a beaker of sherry so I could season to taste. And lobster salad on a bed of greens satisfied a jones I've had all summer. My sister had the portobello mushroom with blue cheese, and the clam chowder...and raved about both of them. Our margaritas, however, were sour. I'd go with a different drink the next time. The atmosphere was smart, clean, and bright and a table almost anywhere in the dining room gives you a lovely view of the harbor.

This place was great. They were cheerful, the service was great, the liquor selection was wonderful (honestly, their drink specials are excellent as are the frozen drinks). The food was awesome (we all got panini and I have to say, they were HUGE). The price seemed high until I saw the size of these things. The same goes for the liquor. The outdoor seating is wonderful, and when it started to rain a little they promptly moved us to another table under the awning. Our waiter was great, quick, friendly and really knowledgeable. He definitely knew what he was talking about and knew the place/menu inside out. I love that. I trusted him for recommendations which says a lot. Definitely hit this place if you're looking for a tasty lunch.

We had a fabulous time at Pepe's! The lighting on the bay as the sun went down was amazing and breathtaking! The atmosphere very casual. I had a delicious long point iced tea cocktail which may have something to do with this raving review. Mark's sundeck martini was strong and tastey too! We ordered the conch fritters...deeelisch! I had the Surf & Turf for about $28. It was an 8oz sirloin steal with lobster tail. The steak was a little overdone for med rare and nothing fancy as flavor goes. Just a good ole plain steak. The lobster tail was good but also seemed a little overcooked. The cole slaw was very good. Mark had the pork lasagna which was out of this world. Even though it wasn't very hot to begin with and outside it cooled rather quickly...this dish was fantastic even COLD! All and all we had a great time and the food was decent. Not very fancy but not overpriced. You can't beat the view and charming waitstaff.

Let's start first things first. This place has a great view. If you wanted to drink a glass of water here that would be fine. But to order food here is to be warned--"Don'T". The food here is horrible. I ordered the cuban sandwich at $15.95 it was inedible. The sandwich was greasy with a rancid looking piece of unknown meat and lots of mayonaise and shredded lettice. Be warned don't have anything to eat here!

What a rotten place! We had dinner there about three weeks ago while on vacation. We walked in and out of the shops along Main Street to take in the sights and enjoy the weather. When we arrived we were promptly seated and ordered cocktails with our waiter. The view from our table was terrific- the pier to our right and a few boats parked on the water with the setting sun. Our waiter came over to take our orders for appetizers and entrees. Simple enough. The appetizers came quickly. However we hardly ever saw our waiter from that point on. We finished our cocktails and shrimp cocktail and waited for our entrees. Our waiter appeared 15 minutes later to remove our plates and for refills on our cocktails. Another 20 minutes go by and our waiter is nowhere to be found. During this time, three other tables will have already been seated, served their appetizers and nearly finished with their entrees. We let our eyes wonder around a bit and notice two dinner plates sitting on the counter. Another 10 minutes pass and we ask our waiter for status on our food to which he replies the kitchen is slow in getting food out tonight. We wonder for a minute and point to the plates sitting on the counter- could that be ours? He walks over and realizes our plates have been ready for that period and places them before us. Our food is cold, too salty and we're terribly disappointed. We eat quickly and quietly, not saying a word to each other. We ask for our check and pay in cash, tipping slight over the amount. Upon exiting, our waiter comes out to ask us why we left such a small tip- ugh- the uncomfortable explanation begins. We let him know that paying a large sum of money to eat cold food while others who arrive after us gets prompts service is unacceptable. His excuse is, "the kitchen is slow in getting food out tonight. I have no control over that." We gently remind him that its his duty as a server to manage his tables better. Sadly, we went to another restaurant for a smaller dinner, but at least the service was better. I thought about the abbreviation, TIPS and its meaning: To Insure Prompt Service. Lesson for us and the waiter- treat us well and we'll repay you in kind. We usually tip between 15-20% but that waiter got zilch.

F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S views, and the bartendresses were fantastic both times we sat for a dozen beers! We also enjoyed the calamari. Will definitely go back to have a cocktail (or three) and view the magnificant harbor.

I used to be such a big fan. The upstairs, outdoors deck area was always a bit of a hidden gem. We've been going for years and always looked forward to their opening. The Greek Salad with lobster, the Cobb Salad, most dishes...always amazing. For lunch, it was one of the best in town. (A little less of a fan for dinner.) Was so surprised this season to see a complete change. Different staff that you've come to remember, higher prices and less food, quality was not what it used to be, the pizza (which used to be fresh and delicious) I found to be gummy and bland. After 3 trips this season, I've decided, it's not the same (we hear different Chef, the old sous chef has taken over) and I've moved on. Such a disappointment.

We stopped by Pepe's Wharf for snacks and drinks around 4pm on a Wednesday. Our party of 9 was promptly seated, and we had a nice enough table on the lower outdoor deck with a breeze and some sun. Our waitress was friendly, but very slow to get our drinks to us. We ordered one round of drinks, nothing fancy (some beers and cocktails that were on special), and were ready to order our appetizers (very simple order). She disappeared for around 20 minutes! Finally, we spotted her, and tried to flag her down to place an order, and she told us she needed to tend to other customers first. While waiting, one of our party switched her chair to a more comfortable variety of plastic patio chair, and a hostess came to take it away. The restaurant was not even remotely busy! Finally, we placed our food order, and the food came in a timely manner, and tasted very good. When we were ready to leave, we submitted our check with cash and a few cards with the amounts clearly written to be charged. The waitress took the check and said she could run the cards separately. Around 10 minutes later, a manager came to our table and rudely told us that they do not run separate credit cards because they are busy and it takes too much time from the service staff. How ridiculous! They were not busy, and if it was a concern, she should have said so up front. The manager also told us they wouldn't run separate cards for us the next time we came, and we promptly told him we wouldn't be coming back. And to top it all off, of course the gratuity was included because of the size of our party.

Very poor service. Food we ordered was not brought to us and we were still charged. Service was slow. The waiter was unable to split checks for a bigger party and the waiter was rude and actually threw the bill back at us when we tried to pay with multiple credit cards! Will never come back!! The food was also not worth the money. The bathrooms were dirty and it was an overall unpleasant experience! Don't go here EVER

Loved the lobster salad w/ romaine very light. My husband got the Cataplana and it was amazing lots of clams and a great presentation. And then the view makes it a wonderful total experience. Make sure you are on the deck overlooking the harbor.

Go for the lobster roll ($20) and the drinks. The lobster roll has more meat than any other lobster roll I have ever seen in my life! It is very simply dressed with no additions, just lobster, mayo on fresh bread. I would have liked a little celery salt on mine but I really cannot complain. it was the best I've had. The view is phenomenal, the service is great and the staff is very friendly. Go!!!!!

    (4)
  • Madaline C.

Lobster roll love!! I have only had the lobster rolls here, and have been waiting two years for this one. It is served on a soft baguette stuffed full with a light lemony aioli instead of dripping with mayo and no celery chunks! Love the frozen drinks also, Georgia Peach, pina coladas... yum! My dad has had the fish and chips here, and liked them, and this time my parents each got a garden burger which they both enjoyed, but I come for the lobster roll. Nice to sit upstairs overlooking the harbor. So this review is mainly for the lobster roll which is one of the best I've had. Pricey but worth it. I still need to try Neptune Oyster in Boston to compare!

Great view of the harbor from the top deck, a really kind and attentive waiter, and delicious lime rickeys. But food was so so and $5 for a breadbasket of semi-stale rolls?? Sort of ridiculous....

The highlight of this restaurant is the view...it is the primary reason I eat here. I like to have lunch on the deck overlooking the water, when it's high tide you can almost dip your toes in the water if you're at a table by the rail. The food is solid...I've only had the salads, burger, and pizza. They were all good. This place gets crowded and attracts many tourists. I've always had great service by the servers...but the host/hostess is a mixed bag. The main host (Michael) is friendly and accommodating but the girl working there at lunch is not friendly and is not interested in your preference of seating. Sitting by the water is the attraction here...so that's a problem. I prefer downstairs....the upstairs deck is more cramped & crowded.

I was disappointed with Pepe's frankly. We thought we would have 5 people and then at the last minute one person couldn't come. So our table was for 5 and when it was clear that only 4 were coming the host approached our table with an attitude and said "so there is only 4 of you?" I said "Yes, sorry about that we thought there would be 5" and he turned and walked away- not a great way to start the meal. I ordered the lobster roll because it is supposed to be what they are known for and it was disappointing. The lemon aoli (or however you spell it) was overpowering what looked to be great lobster and the roll was too large. Fries were overdone and it looked the oil needed to be changed. And if that wasn't enough the host stood on the deck and watched over all the tables in a stern and uncomfortable way. You should realize if you have a deck people will linger and people lingering on a deck are usually going to drink. Get over it and get some new people in the front of house. On a more positive note our waitress was fantastic and the drinks were good. After we ate however we quickly took our business elsewhere.

Great service and location. Food was good and was served promptly. Prices were maybe a tad high for what you get but weren't outrageous.

Pepe's Wharf is located in the East End of Provincetown just off of Commercial Street. The restaurant has been around for four decades and consistently serves good food with a beautiful view of MacMillan Wharf and Provincetown harbor. I like Pepe's because of the great view and food that is consistent in a town of restaurants better known for their inconsistency. Like 90% of the establishments here, this is a casual option and a more relaxed atmosphere with views of Ptown harbor. Pepe's menu is divided into soups, salads and appetizers that range in price from $8 to $24 -- most of the more expensive options are if you add lobster. The remainder of the menu is divided between burgers and sandwiches that range $10 to $21 and main plates that range from $17 to $32. My advice when dining at Pepe's is to stick to the burgers and sandwiches. The food is filling and satisfying - but it is the view that I appreciate most. Dinner reservations are strongly recommended during peak season.

One of my Provincetown favorites, the lobster roll is one of the best in Provincetown and the house made pulled pork sandwich is yummy. Really diverse menu, something for everyone and the location and views are amazing! Had the surf & turf last week and the shrimp were enormous and grilled to perfection as was the steak. The main level host Michael and Manager Dwayne were so accommodating to our large party. The upstairs hostess, Noreen is a living local legend and was so friendly and funny! Tony our waiter for our big 4th dinner is so sweet and took great care of us. My other favorite waiter is Ryan upstairs, he is also very sweet and super attentive. A real keeper he is! To comment on a previous post, Prices reflect a 4 month season, so if you are looking for McDonalds pricing, you might want to stop at the one at the Sagamore Bridge.

Overpriced and underwhelming. $17.00 for 6 tiny oysters and I mean TINY! Asked for some bread because they didn't even come with a cracker......$5.00 more for bread.

After receiving absolutely no service at the squealing pig we stumbled upon Pepe's, and so glad we did! We sat at the upstairs bar area over looking the ocean. We started out with bloody Mary's which were delicious and came with shrimp which is always a bonus. For an appetizer we split the artichoke dip and added crab meat- only complaint was there was the tiniest amount of crab meat on top, not worth the extra money for how little you get. But the dip was delicious and is served with toasted pita bread, so good! For my meal I got the lobster roll- I'm pretty picky about my lobster rolls, I can't stand when restaurants charge you so much for suchh little lobster meat- but Pepe's did not disappoint! Their lobster rolls were large and filling! So happy I got it. Overall great experience and great service, Josh was an excellent waiter and I would definitely come back here the next time I come to Ptown.

Great location and great view, but those are the only 2 positive things I can say about this restaurant. They are clearly in business because of their location.... There are way too many other establishment in the area to waste your time and money here. Our waiter was pleasant once he finally arrived at our table after we sat there for 15 minutes without anyone even acknowledging our presence. We ordered the clam chowder and lobster bisque to start, both disappointing. I did not taste the chowder, but my bf said there were very few clams in it. The lobster bisque on the other hand was loaded with lobster, but it was cold and had way too much Sherry it in. It was all I could smell! I told the waiter it was cold and he apologized and said he would take care of it.... And that he did! It was like lava in a bowl when I got I back and I could tell that the kitchen just put the bowl in the microwave to heat it up. How do I know you ask? The bisque was over cooked and crusted onto the side of the bowl and the lobster meat was now like rubber, completely inedible and gross. I also ordered the jumbo crab cake which had a lot of potential if it wasn't completely burnt on one side. Super flavorful and the remoulade was a great accompaniment, but even that could take away the burnt taste. On a positive note, did I mention the great view?

Beautiful views of the harbor from the upper deck set the stage for some yummy apps and drinks. We lucked out getting a table at the edge of the rail and had Lime Rickies to drink. Yum! For apps try the Class Casino, Portuguese Kale Soup and Calamari. All were well - prepared. The service was fine and we didn't feel rushed. Bonus: paddle boarders doing yoga in the harbor!

I'm from the South and this is the first formal restaurant I've tried in the Cape Cod area. The restaurant really is a charm, situated right on the beach and overlooking the cape if you sit on the deck. Great elegant yet comfortable deco and atmosphere. The clam chowder was great (a lot better than what they serve in the south anyway) We also had lobster roll & seafood trio pasta. For the price, I didn't think the food was anything spectacular. I would probably go back for light snack, but not for the main dish as the location and ambiance really is great.

Excellent service and you can't beat the view. I wasn't too hungry so just had grilled salmon, and it was cooked nicely and accompanied by a side of very tasty green beans. Cocktails were solid.

The guys (waiter and host) were rude to me (perhaps a bit bigoted.) I ordered drinks ($10+) at a table. There were at least two other tables available - and the guys very rude as they asked me to move to the bar. Everyone looked at them the way they were talking to me. Wouldn't come here again. They are greedy to make money. Plenty of other places in town who take care of their customers!!

Ok for a tourist stop. Pleasant waitress and there was definitely some quality to the food. I would have expected the fried shrimp to be hand made a tthe restaurant for this price....not frozen convenience (tell me if i am wrong). Chowder was poor at best..white paste...an time you can stand a spoon up in it it is too thick. Hummus was good and well presented... We always seem to stop here on our annual CC trips...drinks were good. As usual..they need to make all threir money on the vistors so the prices are exorbitant

I wanted a nice meal for our 1st night of our vacation in Ptown, and thought that Pepe's would fit the bill. You can't beat the setting on the deck overlooking the harbor, and the food isn't bad at least by Ptown standards (you can't expect much beyond competent here). The food didn't disappoint, the view was great, drinks were well-made and a nice wine made for a pleasant dinner. HOWEVER, I just got my credit card statement and those crooks added $6 onto the charge. We each tipped over 20%, and it was not a cheap meal what with drinks, appetizers, entree and wine, but apparently that wasn't enough for these crooks. Unfortunately I no longer have my receipt - I entered the amount including tip into my checkbook app and then foolishly tossed the receipt. So, Pepe's, you've lost a customer (3 actually) and I hope t this will warn others to be wary of these thieves.

Overall not too bad but did have an issue with what they called a Greek Salad. It was a pretty decent size (lettuce) but only had 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half, maybe a teaspoon of feta cheese and a couple of kalamata olives. It really was a joke. Call it a salad but NOT a Greek salad. Another thing was the kale soup - all 3 oz. of it served in a tiny cereal bowl for $8. The Seafood Linguini - very good..The Crispy Chicken - very good. The service was also pretty good.

I'm dismayed to have to write a bad review, but after coming here for 11 years I found this year's experience so unacceptable that I have no choice. The upstairs bar is a great place - we stop there first when we get to town. There is always a lack of enough seating for this bar because it's one of the best seats in town to watch the water view, but that's perfectly understandable. We were willing to stand along the deck. But our party of 5 was told there was 1 table left, and the host went to get us chairs for it. He came back with 2, but then said that we would probably have a better experience downstairs at the bar because they were so busy. OK, we understood, and appreciated his advice. When we got to the downstairs bar (which was empty), the bartender (woman) was extremely rude. She said she had served over 1000 people that day and wasn't in the mood to serve us. She claimed she didn't know how to make drinks like a margarita (hello, it's on your menu). She was openly hostile, and made terrible drinks on purpose - like pouring 1/2 cup of rose's lime juice into a drink instead of adding a lime slice to the glass. We tried to work with her being patient and understanding, but her attitude made it impossible to relax and enjoy ourselves. The manager on duty also said to us "what do you expect? we've been extremely busy today." Well congratulations on your success - but if you are too tired to even make a drink for a round of customers at 9 p.m., then you should put your "closed" sign up and let your overworked staff go home. A surly attitude is a poor attitude in a tourist town. We miss the Pepe's we knew, we miss Danielle the bartender, and we will no longer be patronizing this bar.

The upstairs deck has an amazing view of the bay, so for that I'd give 5 stars! However the service was a bit iffy. Our waitress was very loud, brazen and not super attentive. We sat right behind the bar so we could hear the bartenders/servers bickering. The food was very good with large portions, and reasonably priced -- we only had appetizers: the spinach artichoke dip and lettuce wedge. All in all it was a decent experience and I would come back for the view/ambiance.

this is the first restaurant we went to on our cape cod vacation and I wish we never went in. from the beginning it seems we were cursed. the hostess was smoking and hanging out in the front table and seemed annoyed to have to seat us. my two children didn't have high chairs so they had to sit on my husband and I. the food is next...horror. the soup was watery and not tasty. the lobster tail was a mess!!! it had gunk in it and when we brought it to the waiters attention he was kind enough to bring us the world's worst manager on the planet!! he was clearly aggravated insulted me by saying I don't know what I'm talking about and that the"gunk"is delicacy" all the while not letting me talk...put his hand up and walked away. I was speechless! I was under the impression a manager is there to ensure customer satisfaction. well not this guy. if I can rate it a 0 I would. bad food and even worse service. skip this you'll thank me!

We've been here twice in the past couple of years and have had a great experience both times. 4 stars for food, 5 stars for the view and service. The food was fresh and we ordered probably every type of seafood you can think of, and the prices are comparable to other restaurants of this type in P'Town. Contrary to others' experiences at Pepe's, our servers have always been courteous, swift, and entertaining. We even have pictures of one of the waiters dancing with my mother-in-law on the upper deck...can't beat that.

Last weekend, my sister and I went to visit Provincetown. By the afternoon, we were sweaty and hot and wanted to sit down somewhere and have some cold drinks. We stumbled upon Pepe's. Pepe's has a great view of the ocean. The downstairs bar doesn't get much of a view, but the upstairs bar had a much better view, so we chose to sat there. It was a nice temperature on their covered deck, and we had a decent view of the water. My sister ordered an iced tea and a cupcake (Scott's Cakes) and I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. Our server was awesome and very friendly. He kept my sister's iced tea glass full (she went through about 3 or 4 glasses!). The cupcake was AMAZING. It had hot pink icing which was delicious- I believe it had buttercream frosting. I don't even generally like cupcakes, but when I tasted it, it was so good that I kept eating it. Two thumbs up. The bar messed up my frozen margarita a few times (we saw the bartender put up 2 frozen margaritas that were the wrong flavor). Luckily, the waiter kept catching it and sending it back, and by the 3rd time, they got it right! It was tasty and just what I needed to cool off. The bar was a great place to sit down, relax, and both people watch and stare at the ocean. No complaints! I'd definitely be back.

Excellent attentitive service and prompt and fast; I enjoyed the upstairs deck (though a little bit of wind just after suset) but great atmosphere. Very very much enjoyed the Almond Tiramisu for dessert!!! It made the entire meal worth it! Had the seafood trio over pasta for dinner; for appetizer I had the bacon clams casino-they were very very greasy but also very tasty-a must for a bacon lover! Great memories were made here; fun atmosphere and nice relaxing view :) Would recommend!

Love this place for cocktails! We always sit upstairs behind the bar. It over looks the water. Their lime rickys rock! You must get one. Service is good, everyone is nice. Have only had appetizers here - pizza, risotto balls and hummus is good. Not a big fan of the calamari (needs a little something). We start our evenings here before we hit the town. Highly recommend!

We only stopped for a drink here...didn't have any food. We sat on the deck on the second floor, right behind the bar, giving us a great view of the bay. This alone is worth the experience. Great place to relax after walking through P-Town. Plastic glasses unfortunately..oh well.

No question the location is great. The waiters are lovely ... friendly and cute. Our problem was with the hostess -- I'll call her Ursula (as in Little Mermaid). She was rude and unprofessional. Our party of 4 originally were seated inside in the bar area by Ursula. We noticed a table opened up in the patio area overlooking the beach and asked a waiter if we could move -- he said of course so we moved ourselves. Ursula approached our table and asked us how we ended up in the patio. We told her that we saw the open table and asked a waiter if we could move. The waiter said yes and we moved ourselves. Ursula continued her nasty ways, telling us that we could not sit at the patio table because there was a party that had been waiting (there wasn't), complaining that we moved chairs around in the bar area (yes, because we were a party of 4 and there were only 3 chairs around the table). In any event, we will not visit Pepe's again. Ursula needs to retire, go to anger management or take some happy pills.

I've never dined here only drank at their outdoor bar and on their deck. Every time I come here the staff acts as if they haven't seen me in 10 years and I'm a long lost relative. I'm not a regular by any means but they are always so inviting and make AMAZING cocktails. A great staff with amazing attitudes and a bartender whos friendly and knows how to make a drink that one can enjoy whilst overlooking the water? Five stars. Keep it up!

Stopped by Pepe's for drinks and apps on a Friday afternoon and fell in love with their location. We sat at a table upstairs and had an amazing view of the water. Our server, Joe, was very friendly and outgoing, recommending places in the area for us to visit. We all got their Pink Lemonade drink which was delicious! They even have blankets for customers to use when it gets chilly at night. I will absolutely be returning to Pepe's next time I am in P-town!

One of those little gem places. I have been several times and have always enjoyed it completely. We usually sit outside on the upstairs deck for lunch. Food has been consistently great, service is prompt, waitstaff are very friendly and the drinks are made with love ;-)

For atmosphere you cannot beat the upstairs deck at Pepe's. The view of the harbor is spectacular, and on all of our trips to the Cape we make sure to stop in for lunch. The cocktails are very good and decent-sized. My favorite is Helen's Haze, which is cucumber vodka and pink lemonade; it's light and refreshing and perfect for a summer lunch. Pepe's clam chowder is good, but never seems to have much in the way of clams. The lobster roll, however, is packed with meat on a lightly toasted roll and is very good. All in all, the food is decent, if a bit pricey.

I went to Pepe's last week during a dreary Saturday afternoon. The location is great, right on the water with a spacious deck, and everyone was super friendly, from host to waiter. (We had a southern gentleman with a sparkling personality.) The calamari and wine were awesome. I would go back, for sure.

I absolutely love Pepe's! Okay, so it was the first place I ate in Provincetown, so part of that may have been general excitement about being on the Cape, but I can honestly say that I will make a point to go back the next time I'm in town. My boyfriend's parents had mentioned that Pepe's was a tradition for them. Mudslides for both, clam chowder for his father, lobster bisque for his mother. My boyfriend isn't a seafood person, so he didn't try either, but I tried both! I ordered the clam chowder and it was fabulous. It was rich and creamy and just perfect. I had a taste of my boyfriend's mother's lobster bisque (my first ever) and it was also delicious, with very large chunks of lobster! For dinner I got Wellfleet oysters (I wasn't all that hungry after eating the chowder and trying the bisque) and they were also really great. I had fallen in love with oysters in San Francisco earlier this year and wasn't sure how these would compare, but they were even better than I could have imagined! My boyfriend's dad also gave me one of his scallops to try and it was delicious! My boyfriend was upset because he couldn't make substitutions and get steak fries with his burger, but the waiter made it up to him by bringing him another mudslide (this one a bit fancier) so I can't dock them any stars for that, personally. We sat upstairs and the view was fabulous! The staff was very attentive and it was a great introduction to Provincetown for a first-timer like me.

  • Elizabeth B.

No substitutions - they can't swap out the chicken for salmon on a salad? The atmosphere is fantastic and the cod sandwich and burger were good. The chowder was too light on clams - caprese salad was pretty bland .. maybe not the freshness ingredients - the arugala salad with chicken was precooked chicken that was really dry and cold. All in all, pretty mediocre for the price.

The view at Pepe's is amazing and the location is perfect right on the beach overlooking the harbor in Provincetown. However, the food and service was not very good. The 2 people working at the host stand were not friendly, didn't smile, and seemed bothered that we had 2 kids with us to dine for lunch (it's family week in Provincetown). My son ordered fried shrimp and it looked and tasted like the frozen shrimp you buy at the grocery store. We ordered a margarita pizza and it came out cold and the crust was soggy. The service was very slow and the staff seemed overwhelmed. When the check came, I noticed that they automatically included an 18% gratuity - we only had 4 people in our party and it was for lunch. I would not recommend Pepe's!

The view is AMAZING... (of the ocean & the cute boys in sailor shirts). Although, none of the guys would have been interested in me, it was still fun to look at! We didn't eat there, we just ordered a drink and hung out on the deck for the sole purpose of my brother wanting to chat up an employee. I am happy we stopped, it's down a flight of stairs (still on Commercial St) just set back a bit. Had fun, bartender poured my bros drink strong. Will go back!

Awesome lunch upstairs on the outdoor deck overlooking the harbor. Service was prompt and food delicious! Perfect place to eat, drink, unwind and enjoy the gorgeous views and breezes from the water. I made meal of the hummus. They offered veggie burgers - thank you! And served lobster rolls jammed packed with lobster. YUM.

All three of us were disappointed with the experience. Only thing good here is the view. Portion size was small and the prices were high. Food was cold, bland and over priced. Management wasn't sympathetic to our input. My friend purged her meal shortly after getting home because it was making her sick. There are so many better places in Ptown to have a great meal!

A review for an August lunch which I had left in my draft box. Meh. The view and the company were the only good things about our lunch - 6 adults and 2 well-behaved children. Despite it not being busy, 10 minutes after we sat I asked for water because none of the staff milling about had offered it. Service remained subpar throughout our meal. For a town with amazing fresh fish, Pepe's was a total disappointment - the tuna and swordfish both were not fresh. Fish and chips good; spaghetti was all right. The french fries were the best part of our meal, and I have never - before that day - left tuna on my plate in Ptown. There are many far better options in town. Seek them out.

I wandered up to pepes from the sand - hoping for somewhere to rest my shopping weary feet and a nice view with a glass of wine. I will say we started out a bit annoyed - they really did not want to let us have a table just to have a drink, even though the place was pretty empty. We wound up ordering a couple of appetizers just to please the hostess. Ultimately, I was glad we did, as they were pretty darn good. We had an awesome crab cake - think crab, course grained mustard, carrot, parsley - no bread crumbs that I could discern, other than perhaps on the outside. Overall really good flavor. Also had some oysters, and while I'm not an expert on northern oysters they were certainly fresh. The wine list was fairly run of the mill, but also fairly priced, and you really can't beat the view on a nice day.

Really impressed with the lobster roll which was packed with fresh lobster and didn't overindulge in mayo. It's worth the $20 price tag. Try to go when the weather is nice so you can take advantage of the outdoor seating and gorgeous view of the ocean.

Good time and Good food. The weather couldn't have been better so a quick trip to the cape was called for. Since it was a weekday we had no traffic and arrived in time for lunch. The hostess and the waiter were attentive to requests and were able to scare up a table with a great view of the water. I had a veggie burger which is hard to mess up or hard to make stand out. My friend had Salmon and said it was great. I'll be back.

Just got back from dinner at Pepe's....a 2 hour ordeal. The wait was only about 15 minutes, which was cool, and we had a nice seat ovelooking the water. The problem was the amount of time it tooks for our entrees to come out. The caesar salad was marginal, it was grocery store lettuce and dressing from a bottle with shredded cheese out of a bag. The clam chowder was really good, nice flavor and consistency. Then we waited nearly an hour for our dinners to arrive. We had finally given up and told the waiter we were calling it quits, he got the hostess. She came over and simply said "they are literaly on the stairs on the way up" we said fine and sat back down. No apology, or thanks for waiting... hmmmm The waiter offered us a couple of free desserts, but after dinner, we really were ready to go. Our dinners when they finally arrived were pretty good. My partner had a surf and turf, both the shrimp and steak were decently done. I had the grilled fishermen's platter, the fish, shrimp and scallops were good, but the vegetables (harricot vert...aka string beans) were clearly a mix of fresh and leftover beans... half way over cooked, the other half properly done.. way too much butter as well.. So the bill came to $98.00, with tip $120.00 ... a lot, even in PTown for the poor service and mediocre food we received.

Five of us (three adults, a teenager and a 12 yo) headed to Pepe's for lunch this week on the recommendation of some Ptown residents. It was a pleasant stop for a low key lunch. Pepe's is located at the beginning of the busy part of Commercial Street, down a cute little alley. Though I've been visiting Ptown for years, I had never noticed this spot before. We were seated promptly upstairs on the deck at a shaded table. We all ordered soft drinks, which were delivered quickly. Two of the party had the gazpacho which they loved: just enough bite to be interesting, not so spicy as to overpower the vegetables. I ordered the lobster chowder and was pleased with the chunks of lobster in the creamy bowl. Four of us ordered Caeser salads, one with grilled shrimp, one with grilled chicken, two plain. Oldest son ordered a burger...he ALWAYS orders a burger. Caeser's were good, not huge but adequate and I liked that they weren't drenched in dressing. The grilled shrimp version looked the best. The burger and fries got a thumbs up. Service was attentive...nothing was lacking, our soft drinks were kept filled. I would come back. Looks like a great outdoor bar for cocktails.

Beautiful setting with an outstanding view to the beach and dock area. But that was it. Menu was simple, and expensive for the offering. The raw bar is 2x expensive as the Lobster Pot. We had some oyster and clam, then pizza, salad and burger for lunch because there was nothing interesting to order from. The pizza is actually really good. Service was slow and the waitress kind of cold maybe because we did not order enough as she would expect us to. The host basically ignored us on the way in and out, while greeting other guests along the way. It's awkward but who cares, I am not going there again. People sitting next to us would woo and ahh about the salad they got--not sure why would you be overwhelmed by a salad arriving (before tasting). It must be a showy cultural thing? A snobbish gay outfit is all I can figure out.

Provincetown is one of the last places that I would expect to be served by a waitress with a tougher 'How-r-yahhh?, Whadya want?' than a butcher in Dorchester. Serves me right. I guess I sort of assumed that we would be served by a cute little gay boy or girl and not a very scary sounding (but actually very nice) young lady of undetermined and inconsequential sexual orientation. But that has nothing to do with anything besides me being a partially brain damaged young man that likes to eat overpriced seafood. The real story at Pepe's is the seafood. Really? On the Cape? In one of those 'on teetering columns over the sea' sorts of places? No shit Sherlock, they sell lobsters and clams. The place is clean enough and has moved past the 'Barnacle Bill' decor but is sort of in that way too pastel Cape Code scene, but the view is pretty ridiculous. Lobsters and clams, yes to the food, yeah - they were good. We ordered a raw bar sampler and lobster for one and surf and turf for the other. Can't complain, a bit pricey, not really memorable but damn good at the time of face stuffing. And I learned a lot at Pepe's. For instance, the nice Italian couple sitting next us to were nice enough to let us know that the only thing worth eating in America were the lobsters and hamburgers. Huh, I never knew that!

Dined here many times. Love the atmosphere. Although it's been a chilly summer so far, we've been able to eat outside every time and the heat lamps make things very comfortable. Waterfront view is perfect. When the sun goes down and the pink and purple colors paint the bay -- it's truly spectacular. The full moon was rising a month ago over the bay and it literally stopped conversation in the restaurant for all to admire. Food is fine. Not outstanding. But very good. And when you've got such a great atmosphere -- very good food is very good. Just soak in the atmosphere, baby. After dinner escape to the fireplace room and enjoy a drink. Very cool. Waitstaff. Hit and miss. It's always been good, but a couple times we had the happiest (and a bit loopy) servers and they made it a blast. It's a very enjoyable place. Ask for the water views, of course.

We were dining on the terrace on a cool evening with light rain but then it turned into windy and stormy. I noticed some heat lamps and asked a busboy if they could be turned on. He said there was no gas :/ Then there was a bustle of activity with waitstaff trying to get the other lamp going. They dragged it out onto the floor and tried to light it a few times but the attempt and the lamp fizzled. I guess they get points for trying. We ordered cocktails and they were tastey, but the bartender must have thought we were underage and gave us the virgin versions. Couldn't taste any kind of alcohol. I got a nice, spicy crab and corn soup and bf got lobster bisque with a shot of sherry to pour over. Both were good but my soup came in a little tiny bowl T.T We also got oysters rockefeller but they seemed overcooked and dried out. My fish and chips were pretty bleh and so were the fries. Bf got a 2lb lobster that had a nice stuffing but the lobster itself was pretty tough. I'm not familiar with lobster to say if it was an overcooking issue or if the lobster was just mean and rubbery. Tbh the only things this place has going for it are the view and the soups. The food wasn't great and not cheap. The staff was nice tho.

I'm sure that Pepe's doesn't make a habit of doling out food poisoning to their patrons, or they wouldn't still be in business. I had a lobster roll their yesterday. Granted, I should have been more vigilant about the not-so-chilled mayonnaise on my lobster, but it was delicious and most people on the deck were eating one, so I figured that it was ok. Today, I thought differently. After awaking to the moon still in the sky, I suffered through hours of what I thought was ordinary gas. I'll spare you the details, but let's say that two sets each of liquids coming up and out or down and out... and violently, I might say... Sick. Plus, the service was incredibly lacking, as I was ignored trying to hand the brutish waitress the check, and it took so long to get our food that my companion questioned whether the 45 minute mark had passed. Likely, since people who were seated after us ate before us. This was explained away as my boyfriend's cod sandwich had to be cooked. REALLY?! Well, since we were not at a sushi joint, I thought that having to actually cook a cod sandwich was pretty obvious. What is not obvious, nor was explained, was the fact that it took nearly an hour to deep fry a half inch cut of fish. And I can't say that I was pleased to not be offered any of the day's specials or coffee/tea/dessert, as was the older couple next to us, who received better service, simply because 1) they were older and so much more valued in this society and 2) the woman had on Chanel sunglasses. Stay away. You will be tempted because it's on the water, but you're better off eating in Truro where you won't be treated so badly, or have your food come rushing out of your body in a frightening fashion the morning after. Gross, I know, but knowing is half the battle.

The decline of Pepe's....... Sorry. Been coming here for lunch at least once per summer for more than a decade. Food quality is diminishing and prices are just silly. Yes. the spot and view are terrific and staff is super friendly and attentive. But food just isn't great. Ok, an exception, the Lobster Bisque is still really good. But until this year they gave you a little carafe of sherry to pour over it...a very nice touch. Now, they five you this silly little 1/2 tsp of sherry in a tiny little bowl - almost imperceptible in there...why? Sherry too expensive now or just cutting back? The, lobster salad with aiole over arugula. Sounds good, right? Not good. If there was aiole is was minimal -----I'm wondering if they forgot to put it on. A bunch of dry lobster/a bunch of dry arugula. disappointing. My lunch companion had mussels with chorizo - a nice combo with a nice broth and some bread. When he asked if it was served over pasta the waiter said he could order a side of "kids pasta with butter" and mix them together. Great idea, right? The kids pasta --literally noodles with a little butter--was $10 dollars--making the dish almost $30. This is for mussels - you know, those little blue shellfish you can buy for $3/bag. With drinks the tab for two of us came to $111.00, not including tip....For lunch......Just silly. Sorry Pepe's, after probably 20 to 25 visits over time, I won't be back. not worth it.

Poor service (slow, inattentive, had to ask for things multiple times) and poor food (fish and chips way too salty). Wine was ok.

4 for the view and service. Friendly, accommodating staff. Dinner and apps were ok, but food-servicey. I'd come back for a sunset cocktail on the bay, but probably not for dinner.

The alley way draws you in- Let it. Food was good, great outdoor seating on the water. Great place for a cold one. The lobster roll is enough to split.

I read some of the Yelp reviews before going to Pepe's and we went anyway. Yelpers you never let me down and I should have listened to you and stayed away. We went because it was a hot summer day and we wanted to sit outside, in the shade, with a nice view. And Pepe's did have the perfect location, right on the beach with a lovely downstairs patio and upstairs deck. But the food was mediocre at best. I had a lobster salad which is really hard to make bad, but it was just ok. A small pile of lobster and a small pile of arugula. The dressing was tasty enough but nothing special. The entire time I was eating I was thinking I am really going to need ice cream after this. I had asked the waiter if it was a good size for a meal and he said yes, but it was not. My husband had the lobster roll and he thought it was average. The waitstaff seemed to be an odd combination of hovering around and not doing anything. The moral of the story for me is listen to yelp and the moral of the story for Pepe's is you can no longer get away with mediocre food and mediocre service because people read yelp.
