I ordered a catered dinner for a class at BC, and arranged to pick it up at 5:30. The students were coming at 6. When I got there, they had not yet put it together. I paid (135.00) and then stood there waiting, while they served pizzas, handed out rolls, etc. Finally, at 5:50 I complained- and they bagged my meal, but were totally out of rolls! (which I never got) I also had to ask for the salad dressing (and wait) and the plates and napkins. The food itself was delicious- but the process so aggravating to me, that it hardly mattered. If I had wanted to wait a half hour, I would NOT have ordered the day before.

We go here yearly for a team dinner. The food is consistent and servers are attentive. You get exactly what you expect here. It is small and can get a bit crowded, especially by the bar. Very convenient if you are staying at the hotel across the street.

Another chain.. and this isn't my favorite location... BUT, the inside of the restaurant is great and food is always delicious... fresh and hot and great variety... very reasonably priced... cute little bar, also, for days where you want to have a drink. There are often a lot of kids, so think of this more like a olive garden, but better food. Good food :) Nice and clean inside... doesn't match the outside :)

What happened to this place? Bertuccis used to be a good (not great) Italian place for adults and kids alike. Over the years, the quality has steadily declined, probably from becoming way too corporate. These are some low-lights from my recent visit: 1. Pizza guy rolling out pizza dough with a rolling pin! 2. "Wood" fired oven now heated with some Duraflame wood-like product. 3. Guacamole (yes not a typo) is now on the menu - WTF? The pizza now coming out of the "wood" ovens is barely better than frozen or Dominos for a starting price of $15 for a large cheese. I know the kids love the rolls and the pizza play dough but this place should now be avoided.

I generally like this Bertucci's. I definitely do. Their lunch specials are awesome, and are at good prices. I've never had a sour moment here, well not true. I did once, but the manager took care of my meal and comped it without a question. Because of that, I keep coming back to dine in or place a take out order. Good customer service pays off, I always say. Recommended items: mozzarella fritta, pesto bacon menucci, chicken milanese sandwich, margherita pizza (any pizza for that matter...), the wings, sauteed chicken piccata, and...my favorite, chicken domani (I sub the asiago for mozzarella because I hate asiago). Mangia mangia!!

First things first, the bread we had as a starter was unreal. It's rare that I eat multiple rolls at a restaurant, but I couldn't resist! It was perfectly warm, probably right out of the oven and I loved the cheese/oil/red pepper mixture they serve it with. I ordered a small Veggie pizza (new to the menu) and my girlfriend went with plain ol' Margherita. Hers was fine, but just tasted plain. Mine was awesome--loaded with fresh broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. The pizza was nice and crispy but the crust was doughy. Perfect! I had a free birthday dessert coupon and when I saw the menu I was surprised to see a Triple Chocolate Brownie Sundae and a Cookie Sundae as I didn't see them on the online menu for this location. I ordered the Triple Chocolate Brownie Sundae to go--immediately realizing a sundae is not a good "to-go" item. However, they did a good job modifying it, putting the ice cream in a separate container. Unfortunately we didn't get any hot fudge, whipped cream, or caramel sauce, but they probably did their best. The combo of the rich, warm brownie and the sweet vanilla bean ice cream was awesome!! We both loved it. Without the ice cream I think the brownie may have been a little dry. Service was very quick around 5:45 on a Thursday, with our food coming in about 10 minutes!

I've been here several times before and it's so-so. I long ago lost the interest in Bertucci's based on their dinner rolls and otherwise it's just a way overpriced pizzeria with mediocre/bad Itialian food. I would say the pizza is also somewhere around mediocre. The pizza *can* be good but it can also be just terrible. I got the broccoli/chicken/lemon pizza for take out the other night when there was no other feasible options and I couldn't even eat two slices of it. The chicken was low quality, and that low quality tastes permeates the entire experience. The wings were okay. I don't really think anyone needs a Yelp review of Bertucci's -- someone will either force you to go at some point, you've been to one of the 8 million other ones before or you'll happily live on without visiting this very average chain. I would not ever recommend someone go here -- it is the very height of unoriginality. There's brilliant pizza around the corner at Max and Leo's. Go there.

The food is not great, and the prices are way too high for what you get. Over-cooked pasta, cheese for days and sloppy presentation. They give you lots of bread (which tastes pretty good) and the service is decent).Just meh.

We've been coming here for years. Lately the food coming out of the kitchen has been inconsistent and not always good. The roils and dip are good. The pizza is OK. When the kitchen cooks well, it can be very good. Some of the servers are excellent for example Hristina who has been there for over 5 years. Others are newer and not as good. The bartenders are rushed and frequently put out the wrong drinks. You have to put in a request for it to be re-made and it comes out right the second time. Same with the kitchen by the way. In their defense, on some nights they are slammed with big teams and large groups. If you go here, pick a slow night and hope they have their A chefs in the kitchen.

One word: racist. I have NEVER in my life walked out of a restaurant after being seated by the host. First time for everything right? Unfortunately it was the case here. I've been to different Bertucci locations in the past, but this one surpasses them all in terms of how terrible the service is. I can't say much about the food, but when you combine carbs, cheese and fats, can anyone go wrong?? It all started with the hostess. We initially asked for a window seat, because the table near the door was a bit chilly. She said it would take a few minutes because they had to clean the table. No problem. About 10 minutes later she had a smug attitude upon ushering us to our window table. Last time I checked, this diva was servicing us, not the other way around. An observation upon walking to our table, there was more than three unoccupied window tables throughout the restaurant. Strange we thought.. maybe they were being reserved.. along with 50% of the tables in the restaurant. But we let bygones be bygones. Next came the waitress, or more like the lack of. We sat at the table waiting for our waitress. There were a few patrons around us, so giving her the benefit of the doubt we assumed she was very busy servicing others. Over 10minutes passed and still no acknowledgement. Maybe they were THAT busy. Then again, it was only a weeknight .. and more than half the restaurant was empty. Hmm. We began to notice it didn't seem normal when she walked passed our table.. once, twice, three times and counting. Not even a quick "I'll be right with you", not even a glance. Wow, being invisible is quite easy. The tipping point was when another family was seated 2 tables away from us. She quickly went over and provided them with service. That was the last straw, how UNPROFESSIONAL. I know we were too small to be seen, sitting at the table...in front of her. Wish I could say the same about her. I know we don't go to a restaurant for the service, but part of the dining experience is interacting with the wait staff. I will never be back to this particular Bertucci's given the immature and unprofessional demeanor of the hostess and that waitress. We aren't asking to be treated like royalty. We wanted to just be treated THE SAME AS ANYONE ELSE. If the two girls wanted to be racist, they should've done so more discreetly. On a separate note, upon our exit, the manager was extremely kind and professional when we addressed our frustration. If we could give this place a zero rating, we would. Fortunately, Yelp is more generous. It's too bad it had to end like this, a family's gotta eat when they're hungry! On the bright side, there are many killer restaurants in the vicinity. As for the two kids, the world works in funny ways and sure enough karma will catch up to them.

I went to here for by my self. I was waiting for waitress that I can have at least a glass of water, almost in 10 minuets. But no one came... Then I just left. They suppose to learn how to serve customers well. Just basic stuff.

The Rosemary chicken sandwich is my favorite, used to like their salmon. However, The last Two times I ordered the salmon I had to return it. It was beyond awful ! Not sure if it was spoiled or just the bad quality salmon. Their Shrimp Rossini is excellent, defenitly recommend it.

First of all, this location was dramatically understaffed, causing extremely slow service. We waited to give our order for so long we ran out of time for lunch (we did enjoy the bread rolls). Finally, we asked for a bowl (the larger size) of sausage soup to go, thinking they would be able to get this to us quickly. Nope. 15 more minutes go by (we had actually stood up to leave), and then they finally handed us a to-go bag. Inside the bag is the smallest little cup of soup, mind you, this is costing us $8 (due to a lack of time at this point, and due to a lack of exact change, I leave a $10 bill). When we finally get back from lunch, we try the soup. It crunches due to a sand-like substance throughout. Total waste of time and money. I think it's safe to say, Bertucci's isn't what it used to be, and we won't be going back.

Nothing great. It's just an Italian fast food place. Received a plastic piece in the lobster and some crunchy stones in the pasta. Service - slow, inefficient. Again, it's actually a fast food place. Still want to pay the same? Find more places on yelp!

This was my first time at the chain restaurant and overall it was nice! The service was pleasant and courteous; we fortunately had an older and more experienced waittress who was very warm and accomadating, with a trainee following her around. From my observation, it seemed like the younger, newer servers in the restaurant were still learning the ropes to the waitressing game as they didn't really put on an effort to smile or interact with the customers. I'll give them some leeway considering it's the summer and there are definitely going to be newbies. As a party of five, we ordered two large pizzas and a salad, but we ended up taking 6 slices back home. The pizza did take a while to come, but it was tolerable. I enjoyed the thin crust pizzas; as someone who typically eats around 3 slices for lunch, I only two and was already stuffed. The toppings were fresh and the pizza was cooked to a nice crispiness. The restaurant is very kid-friendly; there was a birthday party for a young boy and a girls' tap recital celebration going on in the private room. Some may be put off by the sounds because of this, but I didn't find it too bothersome.

My kids love this place but since we moved to the area a couple of months ago it has been a comedy of errors: once they were busy, understaffed, overworked, we chalked it down to circumstance. Another time they got the order wrong and credited part back. The third (and perhaps final) time we waited 45 minutes for a cheese pizza and kids pasta, had to take it to go, place was empty and they told us it was shift start up so they were understaffed (4 pm), but still happily charged us for all the food. Not really inexpensive ($18 for a large margarita pizza), not really tasty, clearly some management issues, walking distance to really great artisan pizza and pasta for less money (Max and Aldo's I think on Washington).

As a carb-oholic, I enjoy the occasional dinner out with the fam at Bertucci's. The rolls and pizza dough bread is good, and the chicken is moist. Of the many Bertucci's in our lives, we've been a few times to this location and had pleasant visits. Did I mention the bread? Yes, we enjoy the food here. The service across visits has been a little variable. On the high end of the spectrum, once our server made a (not a big deal) mistake on our order and (unsolicited) got the manager to come over and offer us free dessert. We were pretty wowed at the over-the-top customer service! On the lower end, once our server spent a lot of time chatting to the other servers without keeping tabs on customers. We're not high maintenance diners, but sometimes we do need a drink refill or the bill so we can leave. Still, this wasn't the end of the world. There's a nice small/medium lot for parking at this Bertucci's which we found convenient..but it looks like some patrons have experienced strong enforcement of the posted signs. So, heed their warning and (even if you eat at Bertucci's) play it safe by not visiting any other businesses while still parked in their lot.

Seems like bertucci's hires anyone these days. As a server in the industry for many years now, have never had such a bad experience to where I have to write a yelp review especially because I know a manager at another location. Not sure if I will ever go back to this location, I definitely won't recommend this location.

I generally don't like to review chain restaurants but I was so irritated last night from the service here that I felt a need to do a little write up. First off, my mom and brother frequent this place a lot for lunch- I don't know if the good waitstaff all took the night off or what but the service was pretty lacking. First of all, my family and bf decided to come here for mothers day- the only plus side was that it was not crowded so parking and seating was not a huge issue until my parents mentioned that the hostess was essentially refusing to sit them at a bigger table. ( We had 5 people and they crammed us into this ridiculous booth with my poor brother pulling a chair up. ) This happened before me and my bf showed up so I found that strike one especially since glancing around there were empty giant tables all around the restaurant. We even mentioned it to our waitress- who was nice but def. new and kept disappearing somewhere . She also made no mention to make us more comfortable or even suggested us to move. I suspect she needed our table since she informed us she only had 3 tables. While cleaning our table later on, she also dropped some plates on the floor and broke them as well. The food- my dad decided to order the sampler app and a large cheese pizza for the whole table and then we each individually ordered our own meals.....the food slowly trickled out...My dad got filet mignon but was not really happy with it. I ordered the eggplant parm pasta, my mom ordered a lobster pasta dish, my brother some chicken pasta dish and my bf just got a caesar salad. When the pizza showed up it was dry and tasteless and bland so no one barely ate it...Then everyone got their food but when it came to my turn the waitress told me there was a "mixup' and that they have to make another one. I was pretty livid and told her to just take it off the bill because I wasn't waiting another 20 minutes for it to be done. Also, when they refill on water they bring you more cups over instead of just coming to the table with a pitcher- I found that odd and strange given the fact there was no room to have additional cups on the table. *confused look* In between all of this - I might add that the aforementioned hostess ( who looked to be 17) was running up and down the ramp, skipping and singing and generally being annoying all over the place. Please just stop. No one wants to see you twirling your hair and flirting with the waitstaff. After a lot of shifting bread platters around and constricted movement because there was no room for anything at the table, the manager of the evening came over and he wasn't very assertive so I wasn't sure what the initial purpose was since I didn't ask for the manager - but he asked if I wanted the eggplant again and apologized for the delay, etc. I told him I was all set and he was nice enough to offer us some free dessert- which was fine but I would have preferred if he made my eggplant anyways and didn't charge me, or take off that dreadful, obviously half eaten pizza we just had. My dad and bf mentioned the whole hostess/ table thing and he apologized yet again and said he would talk to her- I don't know what that really would do to help- but you might tell her to stop running through the restaurant when people are trying to eat as well. We did wind up ordering the chocolate chip ice cream thing and the cheesecake which was pretty good and he took them off the bill and even included a few coupons for free dessert with purchase for next time, so I give him credit for trying to rectify the situation - but all in all it was a very weird and unsatisfactory visit. There used to be a great Bertucci's in Brookline where I used to work - it's now gone but they were always on point and the service was fast and the food good. I would have given them one star had the manager not stepped up to the plate, but I don't think I would come back to this location given the prices and the quality of the food, I would have just gone to the cheesecake factory.

Honestly, I think they put crack in their pizza sauce, its so good. I'm a big fan of the multigrain brick oven pizzas. The toppings are fresh and so tasty, and the combination of cheese and sauces are amazing. Also, I always get the Tuscan Roasted Veggies, and I dip the awesome rolls in the leftover olive oil. I used to get the mixed olives, but they took that item off of the menu for some reason, which made me sad. Other items on the menu that I really like are the Chicken Domani, Grilled Chicken Marsala. But really its the pizza that keeps me coming back.

If I could give 0 stars would. After finishing dinner, which was pretty tasty, we had to wait an hour for our bill because the computers went down. Other customers were able to pay and leave but for some reason our table kept crashing the system. The manager came by finally after we asked to speak to someone and he apologized but basically said there wasn't anything he could do. They finally brought our checks and had the audacity to ask to pay for the entire bill. After explaining how ludicrous that was and giving our credit cards, the manager came back and finally said he would take they charges off. Why did we need to wait an hour for this and then expect us to pay for everything? Really avoid this place unless you don't care about service.

We ordered take out from here a few nights ago, it was great. We ordered online and the process was easy. As soon as I got there our order was ready. The checkout staff was friendly. Took one star off since we didn't dine in. Once we do I will update this review.

I am Italian, my boyfriend has dragged me here twice because he does not understand the appreciation us Italians have for our Italian food. I have been to this chain restaurant before, the one in faneuil hall in Boston, Woburn and reading and they were pretty good! However this location I do not know what happens in the kitchen but they actually horrifically mess up the frozen Italian food they get shipped in.... First time I got chicken, broccoli and ziti and it wasn't great, but wasn't good.. I was starving so I ate it, was pretty unsatisfied... second time I got the baked tortellini and chicken gratinati... It wasn't really edible. It was burnt!! The tortellini was dry, burnt, and just disgusting,, the chicken didn't even look edible! My boyfriend who describes his palate to Italian food as "horrifically bad" even said this to me "ok I give you permission to complain about this Italian food being terrible" because he hates how involved I get into my Italian food reviews. His chicken broccoli and ziti didn't look the best either, the "cream sauce" was watered down and absent of flavors. I only have this a 2 star because of the appetizer we got spinach and artichoke dip was good, and of course the bread and oil is always good. I'd go to any other bertuccis than this one!

"Are we GOOD?!" I hadn't been to a Bertucci's in 20 years, and I think I'm going to wait another 20 before I try again. Before deciding to order, I took a look at some Yelp reviews and was a little taken aback by the negative ones I read. I always remember loving the pizza and their famous pizza dough rolls. The negative reviews don't really focus on the food, however. The complaints are more about the parking and service. And, at least from experience, I think they are warranted. I ordered a pizza and antipasto for take-out. I was told to be there in 30 mins. When I got there 30 mins later, I saw my pizza, with the box half-open on an unheated surface getting cold while the cold salad wasn't ready yet. When I asked about the salad, the woman behind the counter went onto the defensive, scurrying over to the counter to close the pizza box that had been left open and walked away to check on it. A few minutes later, I inquired again, and she explained that the salad makers were "very busy". When the salad finally arrived, she started plopping my order only the counter in front of me, saying their names: "Salad. Pizza. Dressing. Rolls." Then she looked up at me, half rolling her eyes and said in a sarcastic sing-song voice, "Are we GOOD?!" Really shocked, I replied, "Don't talk to me that way." She then stood there holding an overly dramatic stance as I walked away. As for the food? Meh.... The pizza (as I suspected) was cold. The antipasto that I ordered was a disposable plastic container and included 5 pieces of salami 3 pieces of fresh mozzarella, 5 slices of tomato, 3 pieces of roasted green pepper, a few artichoke heart quarters and 4-5 slices or roasted eggplant. According to the menu, the antipasto is also supposed to include ham, but they'd left that off. Definitely not worth the $11 price tag. Too bad, Franca's in Waltham closed. I always had way better service. Fortunately, there's no lack of pizza places that are open until 10pm. I won't be going back.

If you park here and walk off the premises for any reason, your car can get towed and it will cost $131 cash to get it back. Happened to me. Most expensive tall chai (from the Starbucks that shares the same lot) I've ever had. Also cost an additional $2 for the ATM fee to get the cash, plus about thirty minutes to go to the ATM and walk to where he towed it and get my car. The parking lot was empty at the time, just a few cars and dozens of empty spaces, and I was back in less than an hour, so the only reason he had to tow me was to make a quick buck. I went in the starbucks and told them what had happened and they said there's a guy who sits in his truck waiting for people to walk out of the parking lot so he can tow them and make a quick $131. In my opinion, not an honest way to make a living. I expect the tow truck driver gives kickbacks to the commercial real estate owner of the lot. It would be illegal for him to tow me if he didn't have permission from the owner. This owner also gets money from Starbucks and Bertucci's, so I have a reason not give these guys my business anymore. That and given what happened to me I don't think there's any way I can say they have convenient parking.

Seated by the hostess and that was the last of any attention we received. Left after a half hour of having waitstaff walk by us without a glance. Plenty of places nearby that will serve.

This place is mediocre at best. The environment is like a chain anywhere in America strip mall. Food is ok. I didn't like going to eat in the restaurant so I tried take out... Forget it. They are clueless takes forever to take the order. It's always wrong. It's not ready on time. I give up after the third time of it being messed up. Not going back.

This Bertucci's is relatively new, and very clean. However, on a Friday night, beware. You'll get placed back-to-back with another table, in a noisy dining room where you can hear all the sounds of the kitchen (exposed to the diners). The group of three next to us got placed at a table for two. Awkward... they could barely fit all the plates. That being said, the carryout center is a good idea, and pretty easy to use. (You can even order online.) Our server was extremely friendly, as were all of the hosts and cooks. Even put some extra rolls in our to-go bag!

  • Lars J.

In general, I'm a Bertucci's fan, but the host here was a jerk. He apparently didn't know if a single diner could get a table for 1, even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty.

This Bertucci's is right around the corner from the Crowne Plaza where I was staying for work for the weekend. I ordered lobster ravioli & mozzarella fritte to go, & it was ready quickly. When I arrived at the restaurant, a man in a suit was having it out with the hostess because after having lunch at Bertucci's, he'd walked over to Starbucks; when he got back, his car had been towed from the Bertucci's lot. The staff was so rude to him that I was a little nervous about going in myself. I really felt bad for him. He'd only been gone 15 minutes, & their lot was nearly empty! What a crock. My food was decent but nothing divine. The lobster ravioli was lukewarm & a bit gummy, but it still tasted good. The mozzarella fritte was a little soggy, but it still tasted good. They gave me two rolls instead of one, which allowed me to carbo-load even more, as though I needed it. In all, the meal satisfied my desire not to eat lunch alone at a conference, but it didn't exactly dazzle my palate.

This place is terrible! if you park here and they even suspect you might visit another establishment, they tow your car- to WALTHAM to the tune of 140$. I was eating here and they towed the car b/c they saw one of my friends go across the street. I was told by locals that this Bertuccis is notorious for stalking their parking lot. Badly, apparently! WTF?! I am never going here again and I am telling everyone I know about their disgusting targeting practices. Maybe they should spend less time watching their parking lot, which is expansive enough, and more time doing their actual job! Stop towing away your customers!

I don't usually write reviews for chain restaurants, but Bertucci's stands out from the rest. Here's what they do right - very, very right: their rolls and butter are amazing their lunch specials are delicious, ample, and priced right and PIZZA This is my go-to place for traditional pizza. The Pucillo is the standard by which I snobbishly judge all other pizza (although since it's Bertucci's, maybe not that snobby after all?) This pizza uses very high-quality ingredients bursting with fresh flavor, especially the meats (Italian sausage and pepperoni). This is what every basic meat pizza should taste like, every time. Great crust - a little floury, but that complements the other excellent flavors going on. I like that I actually get to eat a lot of vegetables (mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and a killer sauce) while eating this meat pizza - perfect proportions of each. The staff is also great with kids - they bring out a ball of dough for the little ones to play with and are just nice in general. So while I don't often eat and therefore can't judge their "Italian food," I highly recommend the pizza!

Tonight, I had a fabulous experience at Bertuccis in Newton! Our server, Samantha, was lovely! She made sure we had everything we needed and was apologetic when the rolls weren't ready yet (we were thankful they were fresh out of the oven!). Most of our food arrived at the same time, and I enjoyed a couple of rolls (again, LOVE the rolls), as well as my salad before starting on my meal. Before I managed to take my first bite, Samantha zoomed over and offered to remake my meal so that I would have fresh, hot out of the oven ravioli! I agreed and was delighted with the absolutely delicious ravioli she brought me in literally less than five minutes. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be coming back to the Newton Bertuccis!

Both the Pizza and pasta dishes have become thin in flavor and value. They used to give you a great meal for the money, but not anymore. The Chicken and broccoli pasta dish I used to order had both good amounts of chicken and broccoli, not anymore, just to be clear this is from three experiances at three different locations. Lots of pasta , not much of anything else, even the sauce has been thinned out over time. I would be glad to pay a little more to get what I want, but I will skip giving them another chance. They have raised prices and started skimping on ingredients and you can go to so many other places that will give both flavor and quality of food that I am not going back as it is a waste of money

Overall the food was too salty. Was disappointed. Thought boston had a good pizzaria. Would not revisit.

As chain restaurants go, as I've said before, I like Bertucci's. I usually get a salad as I did today. Our waitress was unusually perky and the table of kids near us waited to start screaming until *right* as we were leaving. Thanks, kids! Also, the kitchen was very nice about making a substitution for me.

This place leaves a lot to be desired. I will start out by saying the wait staff was very friendly and professional.. and the ambiance is decent. But the food is gross. I got chicken parm with linguini. There was hardly any sauce (or flavor) - after dousing it with salt and pepper and fake parmesan cheese, it was edible. My wife got some shrimp picatta dish that looked amazing on the menu, the real life plating, not so much. She didn't enjoy her meal either. I guess I shouldn't have expected much from a chain Italian restaurant... but to put it into perspective, olive garden puts this place to shame (and that's not saying much). Go to Sweet Tomatoes for pizza and let me know if you find a halfway decent Italian restaurant in the area!

I love Bertucci's. It's not particularly innovative (tho i suppose at one time brick-oven pizza WAS pretty cool), but it's reliably delicious, and this location is big, with handy free parking, pleasant wait staff, and it was just a nice experience all around.

This Bertucci's seems to have it's act together most of the time. You may get the occasional long wait time for you takeout but if you call before the lunch or dinner rush the order is generally ready by the time you get there. One thing I like about this Bertucci's is that you can always get extra rolls and sometimes free of charge. Love those rolls and their pizza is great. Most of the Bertucci's I have visited seem to not have much of a view but this location has window seats facing the street. Not much of a view but at least it's something. The only drawback with this location is finding a parking spot. Bertucci's shares is lot with other stores and it can get very tight on weeknights and weekends.

I have gone here a couple times. They are great and very helpful to the local Newton community. I've heard that they are really good to local fire, police and ems, That is a rare point that I gave them 5 stars...not many business do that and I like that they help people who help us. Their dinner environment is the standard Bertucci's deal. You've been to one, you've been to them all. Their pick up and online pick up is wicked easy. And they do special requests. I had them write a message on the inside of the pizza box, and they did it. So that gives them even more points in my book. I'd say this is the best Bertucci's in Newton, since there is two. Well done guys and girls! I'm a fan and i'll be back, and with my friends!

Good place to go for a big group. The chicken wings were excellent. The pizzas were generally very good, not out of this world but I'd go back for them. The service was excellent. The beer was just OK.

Had a Large Roasted Zuchinni & Eggplant Pizza.. The topping itself was sooo good, I could just eat a whole plate of it. Pretty crowded for a weekday at night. Service was not bad as we had a new trainee. One large was good to feed 3 people or 2 super hungry hippos!

You know what kind of food you're getting when you eat here, and that's good. While it's the better Italian chain, it's kinda expensive for what you get. There are some better local places where you can get more for your money. The service isn't always that great.

Lots of bang for your buck here. With a dearth of interesting lunch places in the area, Bertucci's has become the go-to lunch spot for my office. Service is good and you get unlimited soup and salad with your entree or sandwich. My bill is usuall $10. Ditto takeout, and I've found that takeout service and packaging keeps improving--the beauty of tipping for takeout. The food is solid, not amazing, but what you'd expect from a chain.

People really love the rolls here. I mean, they really love them. So, say you're curious about the rolls, but don't live near Newton? That's okay. You can probably go to another one of Bertucci's more than 25,000 locations in Massachusetts. I bet the rolls will be pretty similar. They may even be exactly the same. Rolls. Bertucci's is a swell place to go to for lunch. They have what's called a "never ending salad." In case you're confused, that means that during the lunch hours you can eat as much salad as you possibly can. Unless, of course, they run out of salad. But don't worry, I'm relatively sure that's only happened once or twice to the never ending lunch salad. Bertucci's salads contain lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives sprinkled here and there. Don't even try to replicate their salad formula. Also, they are open fairly late at night. You can eat rolls and salad until eleven or so. But please, seriously, don't go at 10:59 and try and order a ton of rolls and salad. That's not cool.

I arrived @ 2 and the place was nearly empty. Nevertheless the first question the hostess asked was "Do you want to sit at the bar?" NO. I want to sit at a table. Like a normal person. To eat LUNCH. She walks about five steps into a loud area beside the kitchen and put the menu down. I would have liked to sit beside the windows but it looked like they''d closed that part. Anyway, it was me at my table and two other ladies at their table right beside the kitchen in an area @ 20 square feet.. Fast forward to me eating my chicken piccata (which was delicious) and a man in a suit comes into the restaurant. The hostess walks by with him and says "Is there anyplace in particular you'd like to sit?" He said he wanted to sit beside a window and boom, up they went to the section w/ the windows. About five minutes later, a waiter comes over where I'm sitting and begins moving chairs out from the empty tables and vacuuming underneath them. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was going to write more but I'm so done with this place that I'm ending the review early. --- Oh one last thing: it's very interesting that the manager of this Bertucci's hasn't felt the need to reply to any of these bad reviews. Plainly, he or she doesn't care.

A friend decided to have a party here and I quickly ran through the reviews on Yelp. As many said, I concur to the negative comments on service. I would definitely not call it bad or worse but it was weird. The food being tasty and the ' actual ' waitress for our table was pleasant enough. We ordered the chicken Tuscan wings, Dormani & Marsala, sampler platter, veggie pizzas, salads, spinach artichoke dips, tiramasus and coffee..( yep a pretty large group ) ..all of them were real yumm ! Did you notice I wrote ' actual ' waitress earlier ? Yes, we had more than 3 of them serving our table..and the funny part was each time we saw a waiter coming by with our order we saw him / her checking with every other table as to wether they had ordered this dish !! Seriously?? I thought tables had numbers to avoid this confusion.. Somehow, our group could only laugh at those totally lost waiters instead of wondering.. Had it been just for one order then I wouldnt have bothered to write about it here, but it happened each time right from starter to main course. And yes, was disappointed about one order that didnt get served at all.. Our soups ! Both vegetarian and the sausage soup. We waited and when checked she said do I get it now or you want to take it home ? Well, I did wish to taste the soup but decided to cancel it as I didnt want to wait anymore. Nevertheless, except for oopsies as such, we had a good time making enough noise in the already super noisy ambience ! Would I go back.. ? Maybe..yes.

I can usually get a satisfactory meal at Bertucci's, despite their influx and constant change of crappy servers. I always like the Margarita pizza, the rolls are yummy (if hot!), the pasta can be a mixed bag, and I like to have the antipasto salad as a meal when I'm trying to be healthier.

Sometimes a girl wants some soup and salad for lunch, and this seemed like a good option. I came over here last week and sat down for a house salad and some minestrone. I was promptly waited on and got my salad very quickly. I ended up chowing down my salad pretty quickly and got another right away. The salad was pretty basic, and I expected it to be a little more green versus it being full of iceberg lettuce. Rolls were brought at the same time as the salad, and they were slightly disappointing for Bertucci rolls.....not warm nor soft. :( The soup was not really my jam. I know it changes based on whatever veggies are in season, but it tasted like it had way too much parsley and herbs in it, and it was kinda too much. The beans were overcooked as well. I was glad I had two servings of salad. My iced tea was bland even with a lemon, and I was happy my server forgot to put it on my bill. I also ordered from here last week for take out of pizza, which was good. We went with the cilano, which was chicken and broccoli in a cream sauce. That pizza comes with wedges of lemon to squeeze over the top and it was very tasty. What isn't good with cream sauce? The second pizza (I can't remember the name) which was mushrooms, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, and roasted whole cloves of garlic. The best part was the garlic, which I am sure made me very stinky for the rest of the day. Side note: why are sun dried tomatoes still popular? They are usually served in solid chunks, always have their skin, and are a pain to try and eat. Lame.

Has this place gone downhill recently? I got takeout from them the other night, just one item. Was asked if I wanted some free rolls with my meal, so I said 'sure', but when I got my meal, no rolls, even though it was clearly printed on the receipt. No big deal, but a little annoying. But then I found a nice long hair in my dish, which I didn't see the first time I ate it and only noticed it when I went to eat it the next day since I had some left over. Gross! Seriously, how difficult is it to ask people who are preparing your food to wear hair nets? I had to throw away an otherwise fine meal because I was too grossed out to finish it. 16 dollars down the drain. Probably won't be back to this location ever again.

Food = consistently great, especially the pizzas, though they sometimes show up cold. Location = Ideal if you work in Newton Corner Delivery time = pretty darn speedy, and the delivery man is always friendly. Service other than the delivery man = lousy!!! Each and every time I call to place a takeout order, the person on the other end stumbles over my order, puts me on hold, another person picks up, and we have to begin the order again. Also, about 50% of the time something isn't included when our delivery comes, but sure as hell is included on our check. This results in my co-workers glaring at me suspiciously...of course, it's always MY food that comes, and not theirs! Not sure what the technical glitch over there is, or why people aren't trained to take orders over the phone, but the service almost makes the good food not worth it.

A local favorite restaurant. I would describe it as a mix between cpk and olive garden. They serve thin crust pizza - interesting topping combinations. In my opinion, little to none uniqueness.

I really like their meatballs (ok, polpette). I take one of their famous rolls, split it open, pull out the soft interior and put in the meatball. Voila - mini sub.

I'm very picky about my pizza, but I have to say Bertucci's gets it right, and in my opinion has the best pizza of any chain. The crust is just right, tomato sauce perfectly balanced between sweet and sharp. My favorite is a cheese margarita with meatballs. Of course they are also famous for the bread and rightly so. The pasta dishes are good too. In fact I must admit this might be the restaurant I visit most. Perhaps that's because it is right around the corner from my home, but moreso because we always get good food and service. The few times we've sat at a table service was not as good (they seem to always be packed and servers are busy), but we typically head straight for the bar, where the bartender is sociable and attentive.

Great Pizza but amazing service.... I ordered a couple of large pizza's for a small party we were having and long story short, one of our pizza's was a mistake and we were given something we had not ordered.... We had initially picked up the orders but after we noticed the mistake, I just called the restaurant to talk to the manager and let them know why they had made a mistake on such a slow night, hey after all i'm paying $20 for each pizza and I think I have the right to ask that question.... To my surprise, the manager (BRIAN) apologized for the mistake, asked what kind of pizza exactly we wanted and had the new pizza along with 2 deserts delivered to our place.... This is what I call service and I would definitely go back here... THANKS BRIAN

SERVICE - I give this place a 5 stars. Prompt, efficient, and two servers to help at a table. WAIT TIME - 20 minutes. Parking - Small lot. Food - Pizza (I've had better crispier pizza), Pasta dishes - nothing special or outstanding.

Pros: - Tasty food and a fairly inexpensive lunch menu that comes with salad and rolls. Each meal is about 8 bucks. - Really quick service especially considering how busy it is during a Friday lunch hour. - Even if your boyfriend mistakenly punches both drinks at you in his valiant quest to secure and pay the check before you reach for it, a few servers will rush over to clean the mess. (One even apologized despite my boyfriend claiming culpability and our profuse thanks.) - Super attentive and friendly servers. Cons: - Creepy old parking lot guard. "Yo! Yo! Yo! Is that your car? Where do you think you're going?" To Bertucci's you ass. Stop creeping young women out. And take a shower you filthy, scary thing. You look like that gargantuan brown creature from the Muppets but scarier. - It's packed! Chatter doesn't bother me, I grew up in a large family but if you prefer quiet meals, you may want to seek out another place.

Went there for dinner on a Friday evening. It was wicked busy and there were a lot of rather loud children there. Luckily, we got there at the end of the dinner rush and the kids cleared out very quickly. We parked in the metered lot around the corner and didn't have to pay as it was after pay hours. Yaay free parking. There was no wait for a table, though I think that was due to the late hour (8pmish). Our server was wicked nice, friendly, rather attentive, and helpful. You don't see that a lot after they have worked a dinner shift in the middle of the stifling summer heat with tons of kids everywhere in a city notorious for it's rudeness to 'the help'. We appreciated it. Speaking of weather, the AC was pretty cold. That was a good thing, as it was 90 degrees out. The layout of this Bertucci's is just one big room, kitchen and all, so if you can't deal with a loud restaurant, you'd probably be better off at the Central Square, Cambridge location (good luck parking there!) The food was just fine - it was Bertucci's and if you're reading this I'm sure you know what it tastes like. The prices are not bad for not just plain run of the mill pizza. Drink prices were okay, and I have it on good authority that the lemon drop martinis are tasty there. All in all, considering the free parking, halfway decent food, and great service, I think we'll make this our default Bertucci's location.

So we occassionally have late nights at work, and pizza is one of the few delivery options where you can buy in bulk and not have to go through the hassle of getting everyone's individual orders when the boss wants to buy dinner. And when pizza is the theme of the evening, everyone screams for Bertucci's. And all I can think is what goes through everyone's head is: "hey, I am getting free food - let's make it expensive so that I feel like I am getting more" because for chrissakes this isn't good pizza - it's not even real pizza, is it? I know. I know - the boutique-y thin crust pizza is a 'thing' these days, but scallops and bacon?? or how about the margherita with just random ricotta turds on an otherwise un-sauced droopy slice. At least the veggie pizza with its whole garlic cloves make for shorter meetings with coworkers into the night. and each pie - $20. seriously, I just had a $1.50 slice in Montreal this weekend that blew these pies out of the water. of course it was after 6 Molson Exports and 2 hours in the strip clubs - so perhaps a piece of cardboard would have divinely completed the night - but I still think it would have been a better sober choice than this stuff. find a good House of Pizza and save this place for the surburbanites

Bertucci's deserves at least three stars just because of its freshly baked rolls served with olive oil. As my sister and a friend exclaimed in unison years ago at the mention of Bertucci's: "The rolls!" The pizza is an added bonus (I especially like the Lestina), and the pasta dishes can also be surprisingly good. When I lived near this location it was a standby when I wanted a quick, hearty meal to power me through a long drive or a night of work. Lunch here is a deal, and if you have it on the late side and you won't want dinner!

I love the pasta with seafood here. It is so great AND DONT get me started witht he rolls!!!! They are fab! I also would get an artichoke pizza if I was not in the mood for pasta. It is light and not very greasy and will satify the pizza cravings

Food is normally standard at Bertucci's. Last time I went, I sat next to the open kitchen where the food is prepared. I was not thrilled that one woman making food wiped her nose on her glove and kept on working. She didn't change her glove or anything. Luckily, she wasn't near the pizza station which is where my meal was coming from.

I am reviewing this based on the questionable property mng that hangs out in the Bertucci's side kitchen like a bar fly. He seems to be a pal of the GM of Bertucci as I seem frequently hanging out together. They tow cars constantly and have on the payroll a man in a old black truck that looks like a ZZ tops family member that calls into Dave's towing and has cars towed almost daily. I am guessing he gets a kickback There are several business, restaurant etc around and this is the only lot that tows. NICE @#$holes! I feel sorry for many of them and have driven many folks to get there car and pay the $165 to get their car out of hawk. The lot is ALWAYS littered with trash and not clean. The property manager could start by cleaning the and earning his pay instead of having people towed. The food is average, the actually service from the wait staff is great!! I stopped eating there out of the principle.

Rating = 3.5 stars Bertucci's is our go-to neighborhood place when we want a place that has consistent food and is convenient, fast and kid-friendly. Even though Bertucci's is a chain restaurant the food is pretty good. They add items to the menu regularly so there's always something new and the quality of the food for a chain is high. I used to think of Bertucci's as only a pizza place but in the last few years when we go to Bertucci's we usually order anything but pizza. The pizza is good too but it's thin crust. You usually can't go wrong whether you're getting pasta, chicken, veal or salad even. I think Bertucci's is a bit underrated. It's a chain but the food quality for the value is fairly high. My daughter loves Bertucci's too. They have kids' meals and they even give kids a piece of pizza dough to play with. She can be loud, not sit in her seat and be her usual hyper self and it's never a problem. The restaurant is very accomodating with kids and usually there are other kids around who are behaving the same way. The prices are what you'd expect from a chain with most entrees under $15. Dinner for our family (2 adults, 1 child) usually runs anywhere from $50-65 depending on if we get drinks and/or dessert. This location is very popular and is usually crowded on any given Friday, Saturday or Sunday night. It's not uncommon to wait 45 minutes for a table but their turnover is pretty quick. Another great thing about Bertucci's is that they have have call ahead seating. We usually call and ask how long the wait will be, they tell us and we ask to put our names in so that we can be seated by the time we arrive rather than have to wait another 15-30 minutes once we get there. About the parking, the lot is intended for the businesses there so it shouldn't come as a surprise that your car will be towed if you try to park in the huge lot and not frequent one of the businesses there, especially if you try to park there for the yoga studio across the street.

Just a comment here in case the management is reading. On Tuesday evening, two of us were having dinner at the end of a row of tables, fairly close to the "beverage station" near the bar. Yes, I know it's casual dining and it's a chain, etc., etc. But what on earth was the reason for a staff member to manually scoop out all of the ice in the freezer, one handful at a time, and dump it into a bucket, at 8:00 p.m.? This was incredibly disruptive and noisy the whole time - metal on metal - scrape-jingle-thump, scrape-jingle-thump, I don't know - twenty-five or thirty times? It's not like the place was closing for the night. People were still being seated and ordering drinks.

I went to lunch with a co-worker and I had the worst experience ever. First the server was slow and not friendly. He was clearly being the bartender and a server. He took 20 minutes to get rolls! The reason: we had to wait until he got lemon slices from the kitchen to refill the bar. He also didn't go back to the kitchen to check on our food. He stood at the bar watching tv. We had to wait a long time until another server brought our food to him for him to serve to us. Clearly he had no intention or desire to serve us. In addition, I ordered a Baked Penne Stefano and it was overcooked and the pasta was burnt all over, including the pasta on the bottom of the dish. The sauce was tasteless and only 2 pieces of the "crumbled chicken sausage". It also did not have any provolone cheese melted on top. Where is the quality control here? At the time we went, it was not busy at all. I expected a pleasant experience since it was not busy, but I was very disappointed in the service and lack of quality control in what came out of the kitchen. Pure laziness by the staff. I will not be visiting this location again.

I'm just going to say it like it is. I really don't have that much of a problem with the tooch because I've had some decent meals there, but since I've been married they left a plastic rapper in my wifes food over at the Soloman pond mall location, and decided to give it another shot because we were just plain hungry and kinda just wanted to be in and out. My wife ordered the eggplant parma, and I guess you have the option to choose either green beans or pasta, but the server didn't kind of just took off as fast as she appeared not giving the opportunity to specify. Needless to say my wife ended up with green beans. After I mentioned something about it, the server acted like there was no such option and spoke to the manager who then ended up prepping some pasta, but then the server didn't even offer to sprinkle parmesan cheese on the pasta and just took off again. I think what pissed my wife off was the servers lack of attention to detail and disregard. I on the other hand had a great meal, but as the old saying goes, "Happy wife, happy life!". I'm pretty sure we will not be coming back.

This location is one of the best I've been to. The pizza is great and the rolls are always warm and the service is usually great. I love coming here for lunch especially because their lunch deals are bomb! You can get a little menucci which is a way better bargain than one of their small pizzas and all the salad and rolls you want. They are also very accomodating if you're in a rush...or maybe I've just always had good luck here. Either way, I'm a fan.

This is getting out of hand. I can't be known as the yelper who adds all the unlisted Bertucci's. But here I am, adding yet another Bertucci's. Not my choice. Sara K. called me up and asked if I'd join her for dinner this evening, just as I was looking for something good to eat. I agreed before realizing we'd be eating at the Tucc -- now my third time in eight days. To change it up, before I'm entirely sick of these places, I ordered the chicken marsala with a salad, and we shared a "dessert trilogy," the best part of which was the cannoli. I also liked the spinach that came with the chicken. I'm craving veggies after a week of carbo load. Our waitress was about as perky as could be! We sat for a long time and kept sending her away when she checked on us, but she never became impatient. She also did a good job of splitting our desserts in two. It's not easy to divide a canoli. I give this Tucc four stars for its service and consistent food quality. You can expect a decent meal. The cook-it-yourself case is also key. When you want to make a great pizza at home, stop by and pick up some fresh dough and any other favorite ingredients.

A great place to take kids. Bertucci's doesn't just give out the standard coloring book and crayons to keep the kiddies busy, they give 'em each a ball of pizza dough too. My little rascals loved rolling, flattening and fashioning the dough into accessories they then tried on Mommy! The food is decent, the prices aren't crazy and the staff is pleasant. Be prepared to wait for a table though, the place is always packed! Regardless, it's one of our regular haunts when we're visiting family in the area.

This isn't one of the better Bertucci's locations I've ever been to, but I stop in here occassionally mostly for take-out now. The one time I dined in, the service was pretty slow and the food not really piping hot the way I like it. If it weren't basically on my way home from work, I probably wouldn't even stop by. If you live in the area I'd definitely recommend the take-out though, since sometimes it's nice to get some Italian-esque dishes or specialty pizzas outside the norm and just enjoy them at home. For this Newton Bertuccis, I appreciate you.

I refuse to get excited by thin crust pizza(yes I fall in that camp). Zzzzz. Good rolls, sandwiches and entrees. While the pizza isn't bad I'm just not on the bandwagon. Service is generally okay here and the takeout works at a higher level.

This place gets 2 stars normally as I have been unimpressed by the service in the dining room, but I bumped it up to 3 stars just due to the servie I got while eating in the bar area on my last visit. The bartender, i think his name was Fred, doubled as both a bartender and as the server for the few tables in his area and provided some of the best service I have seen in a while. He hustled to consitently provide us with food and refills while also keeping conversations going with both our table as well as everyone at the bar to provide a pleasurable dining experience for all. The food was good, especially the antipasto and the only drawback was that we had to pack up our own leftovers to go when we were done. Would definitely eat in the bar area again.

I've always had really good service at this Bertucci's. We usually get takeout and they have never screwed up an order. I like that I can substitute the pasta with grilled vegetables with my chicken and either olive oil or marinara sauce with the rolls. Their to-go refrigerated section is pretty good too and my mom picks up stuff from there to pack for lunch. I've liked every pasta I've tried there, but my favorite pizzas are definitely Silano or zucchini/mushroom. The pizza crust and the rolls are so good =) Just one gripe: Why make the pizzas smaller and keep the price unchanged? I'd rather be charged more for nice, big slices! Please bring back the real medium and large sizes!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
