So after living close by to Pinky' s and eating from here probably 50+ times over the past two years I have to update my review. The food is excellent, and surprisingly so sometimes. I still love the chicken Parmesan wrap and calzones, but the wings are always nice and crispy and all the other sides are good. They have new subs which my boyfriend has had and says are great. And let me tell you this - order the cinnamon sticks! It will be the best part of your day. I have actually skipped dessert at fancy restaurants to come home and to have the cinnamon sticks (don't judge!). The staff is wonderful, super nice and helpful. It is my go to pizza place in Medford!

We have a weekly pizza night in my house on Weds and have been ordering an extra large two topping pizza from Pinky's for at least 7 years now. That's 7 years of weekly guaranteed money for them. NEVER AGAIN. I don't know what happened but the customer service is horrible and pizza itself has gone down the tubes. Delivery issues: Twice in the last month and a half we've gotten the wrong order. The first time they delivered a replacement one without a problem, but the second time it took them three tries to get it right, as the replacement pizza had been crushed and all the topping stuck to the top of the box. This meant we had to wait for yet another pizza. On the second time, it was explained that the driver was new. We didn't complain because we just wanted our pizza and were really hungry by that point . Tonight we get our pizza and we're treated to a mess of a crushed box and most of the toppings of our extra large half mushroom, half mushroom and steak pizza pooled into a gooey mess on one side. I posted pictures. Ridiculous. Pizza: They used to make a great pizza with a decent amount of toppings.Lately, they've been skimping on the toppings and it's noticeable, unless of course, it's all pooled to one side of your pizza. Not worth the hassle with the delivery sucking too. It's so disappointing. Pizza night will continue in this house but we're done with Pinky's.

Would have loved to have given 4 stars, since the pizza has always been good but the customer service is so poor I found it really difficult to give more then 1 or 2 stars. We have ordered from Pinky's several times before. The elvis pesto was excellent as are most of their other specialty pizza's. The last time we ordered we got the Margarita pizza. It was extremely salty. to the point were it was inedible. my girlfriend and I both took one bite and had the same reaction. super salty. normally i would never call/return a pizza, especially delivery but for 16 bucks i figured we should get more then a few bites. I had called to see what they could do and was met with a ton of resistance. the guy who answered kept saying they dont add salt or dont see how it could be too salty. as if i was lying or would just make this sort of thing up. I then asked if we could get another maybe just a plain to which he said "well if you think that is salty you will think they are all salty'. he then said maybe he could give us a credit but he had to see why it would be salty or what happened and would call back. he didnt ask for my name or number before hanging up. Never heard back from them. Us not having dinner clearly was not a priority for them and they seem too stuborn to accept that something might not have been right and would rather blow us off then to try and make it right. Whats worse is i would have been fine paying for another pizza with them just saying they'll try better next time since their food has always been good, but they never even gave me the chance. Things happen, not every pie is going to come out to perfection, i know they use good ingredients, but the arrogance and lack of customer service is a real downer. best pie in town, but we will never order from them again.

So I order from here because we always have they flyer and you get pizza and cheesy bread for the price of a pizza. The pizza is ok, but this review is for the delivery. It is VERY slow. Pizza took an hour and 15 minutes to arrive. When my pizza got her it was not hot. I am sitting here reheating my pizza in my oven while I write this review. You order delivery for the convenience, if I have to re-heat the pizza it is not that convenient now is it. Sorry, but I won't be ordering from here again.

We had Pinky's delivered.....and it was great! It came promptly, it wasn't overpriced and it was the perfect pizza in my book (yes, better than Regina's....so crucify me!). Definitely recommend Pinky's!!!

We were in the Boston area for Labor Day weekend. My one nephew decided that we have pizza,we used this app and decided on Pinky's. We were not disappointed. We had the plain pizza and mozzarella sticks. So delicious! The employees were so polite and made us feel at home.

I love Pinky's sweet sauce and everything about their pies. I don't normally enjoy crusts but theirs is an exception. Their pizza topping combos are original with a ton of options with perfect size options. Their salads and wraps are also outstanding as well.

Literally just ordered a pizza for delivery from here around 8:55 pm via Foodler tonight. Was given an estimated time of arrival at 9:45 (per usual of all delivery options, so i usually let an hour pass before actually taking initiative). The weather was wet and rainy, but this place is 6-10 minutes driving from where i live. I called the place at 10 pm to ask about my delivery and the guy told me that he should be there in 5 minutes. I finally got my pizza at 10:11 pm. As I expected the pizza was barely warm, soggy crust, and the cheese was forming that hardened exterior when its been sitting for about 20 minutes in a car. I guess i cant blame the place for making the pizza in a timely manner, but delivery is the other half of the job. I ordered the Elvis Pesto Large size and wish i didnt. I also usually auto tip 20% too, but i dont think i will be using that feature ever again. Would i order from here? Probably not, as my first impression and $25 bucks and over an hour wait time to get lukewarm pizza is probably as bad of a first impression i can get from a place. If the pizza was hot i would probably be more forgiving and focus on the quality of what i am eating but two slices in and i need to use a microwave to enjoy a pizza? The netting under the pizza in the box is a nice touch as it does help keep a pizza well ventilated and prevent it from being soggy. But again, fails when it isnt delivered. Shame too since i know the pizza was made with fresh ingredients and still doesn't taste half bad. Yet another pizzeria that could almost be . . . 1 star for ingredients, 1 star for potential, -3 for everything else.

Listen, I NEVER write reviews for restaurants. EVER. But I saw some of the reviews on here and I just had to justify Pinky's because I do order from here often. Not as often as I would like, but often enough. Just keeping it real. I literally made this account TODAY just so that I could post my review about Pinky's Famous Pizza. *Cracks my knuckles* Let's do this. TRUE AND HONEST REVIEW (4.5 out of 5 stars) FIRST OFF - I can only speak on behalf of A.) Their delivery service/attitude, B.) Their pizza (which is going to be the shortest review, I can already tell), and C.) What I order EVERY single time, without a doubt, their mouthwatering steak and cheese subs. So, if you're not interested in any of that then feel free to skip over this review, because it may be quite lengthy. Let me start by saying that their steak and cheese subs are honestly the best that I have ever had in my entire life, and I'm a foodie, so I would know. I have yet to travel to Philly, but for what is here in Medford, and its surrounding areas in Massachusetts this is by far the BEST place to go if you want a bangin' steak and cheese sub. I normally place my order online (which I HIGHLY suggest, because they have a 5% off coupon code that you can use under the "Deals" tab) and ask for stuff on the side (ex: Pickles, hot peppers, etc) and they NEVER mess it up! Other places that I have been to usually tend to forget that I asked for something on the side (happened to me three weeks ago, actually) and when that most recent experience happened, instead of cussing up and down and becoming frustrated with the fact that they (a company which shall remain anonymous for the sake of all humans everywhere... actually, I don't remember who they were. This is how often I have Pinky's on the brain. Everyone else just fades off into the distance) forgot my sides, I THANKFULLY had a leftover container of hot peppers from-.... you guessed it, PINKY'S! They saved my life. I no longer had a tasteless sub. But back to the actual steak and cheese from Pinky's itself - it's fantastic. I'm a cheese gal, big time. I swear that I must have been born in Wisconsin then teleported here to Somerville without a clue in the world because cheese is my thing, so more often then not I tend to get extra cheese on my steak and cheese subs (yet another thing that I recommend, because their cheese is made with love. I swear.) My order never, ever arrives cold. In fact, one time I nearly burned my mouth because I was so eager to have my first bite of heaven. By the way, did I mention that the delivery DOES take a LONG time (mostly forty minutes to an hour) but keep in mind, that my food always gets to me piping hot, so I don't know how they do it and I also don't mind the wait, because I know that my food gets here in proper condition. Just don't order from here when you're about to keel over, is all. I could go on and on about their steak and cheese subs but, let's get more into their delivery service AND their pizza. The drivers are friendly 9/10 times. So that's a good bet to go on. My last order from here, the guy was so friendly, smiles and all, even after I gave him his tip. I swear, I used to think that drivers (not all, but some) only smiled to get a larger tip, or something, but he wasn't like that, and it was nice for a change to have a delivery man say "Have a nice day, miss." Do people even say miss or ma'am anymore in the food industry? Pinky's drivers sure do. NOW, the reason why I mentioned earlier that the pizza will be the SHORTEST review of them all, is because I only had it ONE time, because honestly their steak and cheese is so darn good that I ca-.... I'm doing it again, aren't I? I need to forget about their steak and cheese sub for one minute, Jesus. Okay, where was I? Right, their pizza. The first time I had it I bought one pepperoni slice, and one cheese slice, and to keep the rest of this review short, sweet and to the point? They were hot, melty, and delicious. I liked the pepperoni more than the cheese, and this is coming from the cheese fanatic. I just found it to be bland, is all (the cheese slice, NOT the pepperoni.) But if you want to order pizza from Pinky's know that it is not a thin crust. It is rather medium to thick, so if you like less dough for your pizza I wouldn't suggest going here for that and that alone. You can't fold their slices very well if at all, so that may also be something that some people are interested in knowing. Not even gonna lie, I know that I said I'd stop talking about their steak and cheese, but I just made myself want one by writing this review... -Xoxo Erika

Terrible service, took close to 2 hours for delivery, despite being a 7 minute drive. When I called to see where the order was, the only response I got was "should be there soon" with no real reasoning or offer of a solution. I'd avoid Pinky's at all costs (if you want reasonable service, that is). Oh, and the food is mediocre at best (maybe because it has been sitting in a car for the past hour?! ). The pizza was chewy with little flavor, not to mention it looked like it had been cooked by a drunk college kid.

Not sure why I ordered from here, should've read the reviews. It's been an hour and a half and my order still isn't here. Delivery should not be advertised, it's a sunday night and an hour and a half to an address 1 mile away with just a calzone is ridiculous.

I've picked up pizzas and subs here for years. I've recently started using the delivery service and have no complaints. This is my favorite steak and cheese around! Love everything about it.

SO GREAT. I don't understand all the negative reviews. I ordered a pizza through GrubHub- it got here WAY earlier than expected, done correctly, and like it had just popped out of an oven. The crust is perfectly chewy (if you like your pizza crust a naan consistency, this is for you) and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be ordering from them again!

Fast delivery. Amazing chicken parm sub. Fresh sub roll makes a huge difference. Great sauce. A+

  • Jeff D.

The pizza here is definitely above par for the area, its about equal to Domino's now that they improved that chain. To me it is a Greek style pizza, rather thick amounts of cheese and greasy in a good way, lets face it - pizza is not health food. It also warms up very well after a day or two so its a good pie to order extra of if you need food for a while. The chicken finger dinners are decent and come with a ton of food and it could easily feed two people. However, you really need to get take out or eat in as the delivery service as others have mentioned is glacially slow so factor that in.

This place says it's famous, so we had to see why. If it isn't, it should be! We had the rockin Ricotta and the BBQ chicken pizzas and they were Ab Fab! The crust was perfect on both. The BBQ was spicy and sweet. I can't wait to try the calzones!

NEVER AGAIN. As someone who has worked in the industry for 15 years, I usually can cut people slack if the service isn't great, as long as the food is good. Furthermore, for someone who used to make subs for a living to pay my way through school, i can tell you the sub I just got from this place was an absolute joke. I mean, how hard is it to make a cold veggie sub? All I asked for was lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. Some mayo and some provolone. It's not rocket science people. First off, I was appalled that I was charged $8 for this.. But it was late and not much was open, so I had to deal with that fact. Secondly, I got home and took a bite - no provolone. No onions. An almost empty sub which was covered in SO much mayo I couldn't even hold the sub without the mayo dribbling down my arm. I guess that's why it was $8.. They must have used an entire jar of mayo. Maybe they thought with all that mayo I wouldn't notice there were no onions and no cheese? I mean... I really don't understand how you screw up a sub that is SO basic. Like... Really. It's kind of amazing. The ingredients that they did include in my sub seemed fresh so I guess I'll give them that, but the sub was almost empty. I never write reviews like this - I have better things to do with my time, but I just couldn't let this go. Don't waste your time or money with this place. I won't. Do yourself a favor and just go to Wellington's.

So I got the meatball ricotta pizza.... I mean how could one mess that up. Pinky's must be famous for messing up the easy things in life because they're definitely not famous for quality food. The ricotta WAS FROM A TUBE, A TUBE I SAY! They didn't even hide it... There is truly nothing better than opening a box of pizza that you've been waiting for (yes they were 15 mins late of course) all day and to see cheese whizz types of swirls of your ricotta. I actually thank you Pinky's, I had no idea ricotta even came in tubes. Well anyway we threw out that extra large pizza that took an hour to get to me.

Pinky's has the best pizza in Medford by far! I like everything there. They just started doing subs a little while ago, so they haven't perfected that yet, but Everything else is awesome. Always friendly and quick.

Really good chicken, sides and dessert, bad pizza, horrible delivery. The good: chicken and fries, delicious. Huge dinner portion, great value. The meh: The pizza sauce is too thick and they use too much. The dough looks delicious, but seems to lack any real taste. The cheese is sloppy and sparse. The delivery is atrocious. They have a feature that lets you set when you want your order delivered. Fantastic option and perfect for those of us who have set lunch breaks. If only it worked. Seems they don't care what time you select, they deliver when the feel like it. The packing for the delivery is also horrible. They just delivered me cinnamon sticks in a paper bag dripping with grease. I mean dripping. Who thinks that's ok? They need better locking cases and maybe the driver doesn't need to hold things upside down... The cinnamon sticks are to die for though, so I'll keep ordering. I'm a sucker for punishment.

Really good pizza, really bad customer service. Came here at 10:30 at night since it was the only place open. I could instantly tell the workers did not want us here. Judging from their bad attitude, dirty tables, and dingy interior, I didnt have very high expectations. They asked to see if it was for here or to go and we said for here.. but they still served it to us in a take out box. Definitely hinting that they wanted us out! Understandable though, because they closed at 11. We got a medium pizza, half Ultimate and half Veggie for under $13. The Ultimate is dang good! I've never bitten into a pizza and instantly knew that the ingredients were fresh. The Ultimate is basically a combo with everything. The sausage on this was amazing! So juicy and fresh! Mushroom and pepperoni and bell peppers were fresh too. I highly recommend it! The Veggie was just okay. This is my usual go to but it just wasn't that great. Could've used more toppings and a greater variety of veggies. I'd come back if I was in the area.

Ordered delivery via the phone from here. Estimated 40 minutes, took about 1 hour 20 minutes. Ordered Half Steak and Cheese and half pepperoni...they gave us half steak and cheese with the pepperoni on top and then just plain cheese one the side. The combo didn't end up being that bad. But how do you make that mistake?

Buffalo wings were soggy and the lid on the blue cheese container wasn't put on properly so the whole box was a mess of wings, blue cheese and buffalo sauce. The pizza was too saucy, too dry and sweet for my taste but what really trumped the experience was the customer service. I ordered at 7:40 via GrubHub. Estimated delivery: between 8:50 and 9 p.m. -- that's a little ridiculous for pizza on a Tuesday night, but ok. When 9 o'clock came and went, we contacted Grubhub, who said the delivery person should be arriving momentarily. They didn't. At one point I was waiting outside while my boyfriend was inside on the phone being told the delivery person was outside the building... Around 9:30, GrubHub called and said the delivery person had come and went (when?!), had tried to call but didn't get a response so it would be another 20-25 minutes before they came back. This all allegedly happened while I was standing at the front door waiting, and the only call we ever got was from GH. At around 9:50 my boyfriend went back downstairs to wait for them. And there was the delivery guy. Standing on the sidewalk in front of our building. Holding the food. No phone, not hitting the buzzer -- not even by the front door. Just... standing outside in the cold holding a pizza. Which, needless to say, had to go in the oven because it was cold. When hot -- still gross. Sticking to tried-and-true Pini's Pizza on Broadway from now on. I will continue to use GrubHub though, their customer service was beyond excellent.

Had a flyer delivered in the mail and based on a few good reviews on yelp, I gave them a try. Delivery took an hour and twenty minutes. Ordered two salads, a chicken finger dinner and a sub. Lettuce was limp and the chicken was dry. French fries ordered to go with a sub, in a word, gross. Greasy and cold with an odd flavor. The sub was ok. Overall, not worth the $50 and change since most of it went in the barrel.

Hip-hip hooray! I really enjoy their pizza but it's a really sweet sauce they use so it's a lot different than regular pizza in my opinion. Actually, there are a lot of different kinds of pizzas and Pinky's is really different than the norm. It's almost like a sugary pizza and I "have to be in the mood" for Pinky's, but I do love it here. I've ordered take-out from them several times and I've been in their once. The place is different looking, oldies, so I would hope that would draw some attention to ordering. Also, the mozzarella sticks, a must order. Soooo good, especially if you're order is the first drop off order on a delivery and they're still super hot.

The food is serviceable and in a decent location if you're around Medford. That is, if the food is ever delivered to you within the promised time when you order. I've eaten at Pinky's on a plethora of occasions and it is nothing special, but it is not bad. If you want a bite to eat nearby, go here. Not "famous" pizza, but nothing bad. However, my problem with Pinky's is delivery. I like to order online and whether it is a Monday night or a Friday night, it's at least an hour and a half of a wait. I still am waiting for a delivery that is on its way that I ordered at 8:10pm (it is now ten minutes of 10:00pm). To get three wraps and an order of fries in that amount of time is absolutely absurd. As a result, I can no longer tolerate the wait from Pinky's or order from there ever again. I'd like my food to be delivered to me before I'm 80 and develop Alzheimer's. Update: So, I called Pinky's about the order (which they said will arrive at 10:15pm, officially nearly 2 hours from order, despite living 10 minutes away), and the girl who answered did seem apologetic. Nonetheless, there is no excuse for $40 on dinner being two hours late. They noted I could speak to the manager about this, and frankly, I might tomorrow. Which would be a first time ever for me. I have a lot of patience and tolerance and understanding, but this has made the entire night just sitting around waiting for food on a Friday night. If the food is cold and soggy, as I expect it to be, I will be demanding a full refund or at least compensation. Because of tonight, my original grade was 3 stars for serviceable convenience, but I am dropping it unless there is compensation for this awful service tonight or the food somehow manages to taste even better after 2 hours in a delivery car. Update 2: Well, it came at 10:20pm, warm, and was given to us for free by an apologetic staff member. That earned the extra star. 2 hours is still ridiculous and I contemplate returning, but the sincere apology and free hot meal (which was obviously remade) was absolutely appreciated. Classy move.

I ordered the Hawaiian calzone. It was delicious - big slices of ham and juicy pineapple. The marinara sauce had big juicy tomatoe chunks in it. The only thing was that the delivery was late so it was cold and delivery is never the same once it's cold :( C'est domage! But overall the food was delicious. I will try again soon. By the way, I used Grub Hub to order it so I don't know if there a miscommunication between the companies or something.

Sorry, Pinky's! I wanted to love you since you're famous and all. But alas, it just wasn't meant to be. Picked up dinner on a Sunday night - got a salad and a medium pizza and it was almost TWENTY DOLLARS. This is a Medford pizza joint. A salad should be $5 and the pizza should be $8, max. That would be $13, not $20. Made me recoil a bit. Salad was ehhh.. asked specifically for no jalepenos but there they were! Not alot of lettuce - even parts lettuce and veggies.. not my favorite. Skip. Pizza was just ok, not famous, not even really a place I'd recommend with so many great options around. If Pinky's was at someone else's house, or on the counter at a party, or being offered to me for free, I'd accept. It's not bad, it's just not good enough for me to order on my own.

  • Ana S.

I also don't understand the negative reviews. I used to live in the Union Square area, and now that I live in Brookline I'm lamenting my lack of Pinky's! This is one of the only pizza joints in Boston that I crave--Is it just me, or do we generally have shitty pizza? The buffalo chicken is especially good--nice, big chunks of real chicken, not mystery meat. The crust is on the thicker side, really crispy, and filled with little bubbles. Their sauce is very, VERY good--not too sweet and tastes like tomatoes. I always got my delivery on time. I need to trek out to Medford one of these days; it's been too long, Pinky's!

I try to give places the benefit of the doubt. Especially if it is my first time trying them out. But I will never order from them again due to the extremely rude delivery driver. Let's start with the food then I will get to the meat of the issue. I ordered the chicken strips dinner with teriyaki sauce on the side. Comes with fries and a salad. When I finally got the food, the sauce was on the chicken tenders which was ON TOP of the fries. EVERYTHING was covered in teriyaki sauce. Love teriyaki sauce but covering my entire meal. So the estimated delivery time was about an hour. With the current weather situation, totally understandable. Well it was about an hour and 30 minutes and I decided to go downstairs. As soon as I opened the door, a car pulls up. A guy, whom I was assuming was my delivery guy, gets out of the car and starts yelling at me. He said that he tried to call me many times, which he didn't. I asked him what number he called. He gave me a number that had the first two numbers switched and I informed that he misdialed. He continued to blame me for the situation. He said that he had been driving around for an hour trying to find the place. FALSE. So you just happened to find it without calling me...just now...hmmm. The driver continued to say that I was horrible for making him come out in the weather and not be right there picking up my phone. I saw that this was a losing battle so I just took my food, called him an ass, and slammed the door. I didn't call the store because I just didn't want anything to do with them again. I wish that I could have gotten my $15 dollar tip back.

My buddy got Pinky's Famous Pizza delivered the other night. You won't be disappointed with this place. I had a few slices of their cheese pizza, nothing too adventurous. While I wouldn't go out of my way to return it was a very solid piece of pie.

The calzones here are awesome. They were a staple of mine when I lived in the area. They are HUGE and filled with the toppings of your choice. The food isn't particularly cheap and the deliver isn't particularly fast, but the quality and portion of the food is impressive.

Look I hate yelp, I feel like it's just a place for people to complain but hey it has to be done. So I just received my order, safe to say I'm not a fan at all. I've been told by my friends this place is great well my friends opinions suck apparently. We got the menu in our mailbox, and after a long weekend trip we thought it sounded great after reading through the menu. The ideas, price and portions are what is giving them the 1 star the pizza, and onion rings are what made them lose the rest. We got a god-zilla pizza(double the cheese/ lots of pepperoni) the sauce was so sweet, in my boyfriends words "tasted like a hot pizza lunchable." As soon as I picked up my piece of pizza the cheese and sauce slipped off and no there wasn't loads of pepperoni on it either. To the onion rings, ordered well done, like I said huge portions but I guess the way they packed them in to the large brown bag made them steam on themselves and became nice and soggy. So no I will be ordering again and pinky I don't know how you became famous.

Hey Jen T, without you I wouldn't have tried. Although Pinky's is only a block from my office. But they had that sign out - food safety code violation - or something like that only a year or so ago. Scary. Now it looks spiffy clean. Salad and roll up were great. Tasty and plentyful. And the in store experience ... somehow is like out of a West Side Story set. Seriously. That's hownthe staff makes you feel. Must be Maria behind the counter. So some time next week (when I am back from a business trip) pizza trial is on.

A good safe bet! Everything we have tried has been pretty good! We will continue to sample the menu!

Note: I'd love to give Pinky's 3 1/2 stars, but alas... I've only had their pizza, but considering we order from here for group meetings several times a month, I've at least had a lot of their pizza. Hands down the best pizza in the area (aside from gourmet places like Posto, Salty Pig, etc.). They actually put enough sauce and cheese on their pies, and the crust is enjoyably crunchy. Toppings taste fresh and are rather generous compared to other local joints. I particularly enjoy the Margarita pizza, though I actually haven't had a bad slice from this place yet. Pinky's downfall? Their prices. I've never ordered from here outside of work meetings because the cost is unreal. I will take my twenty bucks to Bob's or Oasis and get my money's worth over Pinky's any day. Pretty freakin' unreasonable to charge that much for some dough, cheese, and tomatoes. That said, they truly do have the best pizza around and if your wallet is bottomless, I'd recommend giving Pinky's a call.

Very good pizza but poor delivery times. Food often doesn't arrive until well past the estimated delivery time. One time I ordered a pizza and it never showed up. When I called to cancel and get a refund, they didn't apologize or seem to care.

The delivery was a bit slow but it's a Friday night so I've got to cut them some slack. The food was gross. The food came with grease soaked through everything. The duck sauce had exploded all over the chicken. The cheesesteak reminded me of elementary school lunch. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. You will thank me.

When I first moved to the area, I drove by Pinky's and outwardly scoffed at their proclamation of being "famous." I so often do this with establishments, especially pizza ones. By nature, I'm a pizza critic. It may be the fact growing up and being from New York, I had some fantastic pizza. Even the worst pizza in my home town, was far better than most places I've eaten at. I was certainly pleasantly surprised when I tried out Pinky's and put the scoffing aside. I've only ever gotten a cheese pizza here, and that's good enough for me. The pizza itself has always been a little on the sweet side, and I could never figure out quite what it was. They must put sugar in the sauce, my friend exclaimed when I made her try it out. Thats it! Must be. Best part? They give me as many sides of blue cheese as I ask for. Which believe me can be a lot. I wouldn't ever want to stay and eat, for how small the place is. But take out, is a-ok.

As i was banging a corner, i had a whiff of pizza which made my mouth water. i looked to the right and to the left and wah lah! pizza shop!! I casually strolled in scanning this hole in the wall. Petite. I turned my attention to the menu on the lightboxes. I was baffled how half the menu was not even readable as it was blocked by a wall. All I wanted was a slice of cheese which I had no idea if they had so I had to ask. Surely, they did for $2. As my mouth was watering for the first bite, I was totally turned off as soon as my tongue filled with active taste buds touched its flesh. It was luke warm at best. The cheese - meh!!!! I could not bare but to throw away the slice after three bites.

Gross, overly expensive ($21 total with tip for a large pepperoni). The delivery guy literally did not speak one work of English and could not find the correct location, leading to cold pizza. The pizza itself is on par with dominos (or would have been has it been hot) and absolutely not worth the money. That will be my first and last order.

Surprise! Pizza delivery in Medford doesn't totally suck! When I'm craving a hangover cure or the much-needed drunk pie from time to time, Pinky's is my poison of choice. My advice: get the hawaiian pie and put those guys on your speed dial. You don't want to be futzing around for a phone number in your time of need.

Good grief, this pizza was bad. The cheese was a solid layer of rubber. I eventually pulled it off so I could at least eat the crust, but the crust had a distinctly rubbery texture too. Also, I like a sweet sauce, but the Pinky's sauce was super-sweet and not particularly suited to pizza. Usually, even bad pizza can be choked down, but we threw out a large pie after trying one slice. One good thing was the salad -- fresh and with good dressing choices. Still, I can't bump up the star rating over that. This is, after all, a pizza place. And eating pizza should not make you question whether someone accidentally baked a rubber glove in your slice.

I definitely liked Pinky's Famous Pizza--it wasn't the best pizza I've had, but it was certainly tasty enough for me to order from them again. The menu consists of a nice selection of "specialty pizzas," many of which sound quite tasty. There are also salads, wraps, calzones, etc. The interior isn't overly fancy, but it's nice enough and has a bit of a late-fifties-early-sixties "retro" feel. As it was our first time ordering from Pinky's, we kept it relatively simple: a medium pizza half spinach and meatball and half ricotta and meatball. I was impressed with the wide selections of toppings that you could add on to pizzas--the list was definitely longer that at most other places. The meatballs were very tasty, and I appreciated the fact that the they were cut as slices rather than crumbled up and sprinkled on the pie. The toppings were generously distributed, which was another big plus. The crust was relatively average, but good, and the sauce was, as others have mentioned, a bit on the sweet side, but not too much so. Overall, it made for a satisfying dinner (and leftovers). We'll definitely be back!

We ordered several things to try out Pinky's: Tropical Island Salad, two pies, and some foccacia. Carbo-load? Yah! The salad was good, but the tortilla bowl was unnecessary. Lots of mixed greens, fruit, and about a billion walnuts. The homemade dressing was tasty and sweet, but thick like syrup. The foccacia was great, but the dipping sauce container wasn't sealed properly, so half of the pieces were swimming in oil. Not too much of a disaster, since I like oily things (cars, the Florida coast, my husband). The pizzas were good - the Elvis Pesto being better than the plain cheese (duh). The pesto was very light and basil flavored - not heavy and fatty tasting like store bought spreads. Pinky's does a good job marrying the flavors of that pizza. The cheese was fine, but it was just a cheese pizza. My toddler loved it. We'll be back.

The pizza is really good! The buffalo wings were also good. Spicy, but not too spicy. I recommend the meat lovers. Delicious. It is a tad greasy, but if you're getting a pizza, you obviously aren't going for the Weight Watchers factor.

  • Spyro A.

If you use a roll of napkins to sop up all the grease, it isn't a bad pizza. I don't know were all the 5 star reviews are coming from but I don't get it. If you want a 5-star pie, take a trip to Regina's, Santapiro's or Umberto's is necessary.

I love telling people that I actually ordered here before the big bust. As people have said, the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side, which makes it seem artificial and not fresh. The BBQ chicken pizza is definitely on the sweeter side. The caesar salad was average. This place is definitely marketed towards pleasing the customer, but it doesn't meet my expectations tastes-wise. I didn't hate it, but I would not go out of my way to get this.

Pinkys pizza is only famous for one thing...making me sick. Didn't matter if it was the road kill or the Quattro formagi. The staff has no personality.

First of all, I see a couple people saying Pinky's doesn't have subs. That's old. They've had subs for a while now. Second of all, they've got great non-pizza options. Their salads are really good, and their crispy chicken fantastic, on a salad, in a wrap, on a sub or yes, by itself. Seriously, great chicken tenders. Lastly, but certainly not leastly, the pizza. It's a chewy kind of crust... The bones are like breadsticks. If that's not your bag(if you prefer thinner crust or cakier crust) then you might not dig the pizza. I like a chewy crust, myself. Moving on. They've got high quality toppings. One of the only places with good ricotta and giant slices of peppers. They always put their basil under the cheese(so it doesn't burn) and they never skimp on anything. Use their website to order and you'll be presented with a *ton* of customization options for almost every item. Example? I like the crispy chicken wrap with light honey mustard, lettuce, extra pickles and tomato. None of that needs to be written in special instructions. You can just select it from drop down menus. This is one of the only restaurants where I usually forego grubhub and use their website. One more thing: The medium double deal(15.99 for two medium three topping pizzas) is one of the great deals of the area-- for quality/price ratio on delivery it's hard to beat. Their mediums are the size of pizza days' larges(and a whole lot better, too). Honestly, this is as good as cheap delivery food gets in this area.

  • Matthew M.

One of the best pizza places we've seen in Boston. Good deals and good-quality toppings... the chicken is actually chicken! They don't skimp, especially on the extra cheese. Excellent specialty pizzas too. The salads and wraps are all excellent, I love the chicken caesar salad wrap myself. The chicken fingers come smothered in sauce, so if that is something you like, that's a bonus! The price is reasonable. At another pizza place, you might a little less, but the quality at the other places can't compare. This pizza is worth the extra little bit! Also, very quick and capable delivery!

I don't eat pizza often, but this is where I go when I do, love the Elvis Pesto. Besides the pizza I get the apple walnut gorgonzola salad at least three times a week. The guys that work there are cool, I got the wrong order one time in over a year of going there, and they quickly gave me the right one and comped my next meal. Wish they were open late night on the weekends.

I drive by Pinky's every day on my way to work, and I thought the place looked kinda sketchy from outside, but when it was recommended by a couple of friends of mine, I thought I'd give it a try. Good decision! First of all, I called them on a rainy Saturday around lunch time, and I was ready for them to tell me the wait for delivery would be about an hour. Ugh. When they said it would be half an hour, I was like sweet! Well, guess what, they showed up within half an hour!! I was impressed. I ordered an Ultimate pizza, which is basically a smorgasbord of ingredients. 3 different meats and 3 different vegetables. Again, I was expecting one layer of all the ingredients combined, so a little bit of each on the whole pizza. Wrong again! They did not skimp on the ingredients. The thing was loaded! It had probably a whole bell pepper and a half. Again, impressed. As for the flavor, it was very good, but not mind-blowing. When you've got so many ingredients, you're basically just tasting the ingredients, which I don't mind. I ordered an extra-large of the Ultimate, which came out to $18. Totally sweet. The extra large feeds about 2 hungry people and one not too hungry person, or maybe 3-4 not too hungry people. I will gladly order from them again.

The sauce on Pinky's pizza is, hands down, the best sauce I've ever had on a pizza. It's the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. They also use real mozzarella on the pizza, rather than the stuff that's meant to be stored in bags for weeks at a time. They have online ordering, and it seriously took only about 20 minutes for the pizza to get to my house, and I don't live right around the corner. This place is generous with the toppings. Seriously generous. It's a bit more pricey than most other places in the area, but you really do get what you pay for. I often feel ripped off after receiving my pizza from other places. (I'm looking at you, Dial-A-Pizza) Not at Pinky's. One pizza from here is a lot of food. I'm giving Pinky's four stars instead of five because of the grease factor. Some people like their pizza super greasy. I'll admit that it adds flavor. Sadly, this is too greasy for my tastes. Don't get me wrong, it's not going to deter me from ordering again (and again, and again), but it really is pretty darn greasy.

the pizza and cinnamon sticks were good, though not phenomenal. the crust was decent quality and not too thick (though not as thin or crunchy as i prefer). the toppings were decent quality and moderately plentiful. the cheese and tomatoes were noticeably more flavorful than i expected. the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. the cinnamon sticks were large, soft, and had plenty of icing--much better than, say, Papa John's version. delivery was reasonably fast considering that it was a Friday night. the plastic mesh liner underneath the pizza was a nice touch to prevent sogginess, though i question whether it's worth the extra waste. is it biodegradable? recyclable? who knows? the prices are a bit higher than i'd like for the quality, but they're not prohibitive. ordering and paying via GrubHub is a big plus for me. i'd certainly recommend this place, but i wouldn't rave about it.

I love Pinky's. There are some great guys that work there and they turn out a great product. The crust is not one of the best I've had but everything else is very, very good. I've yet to get a greasy pizza from Pinky's but that's probably because I get things like veggies or chicken on my pizza. Speaking of chicken, it's not that processed looking crap that you get at other pizzerias...it's legitimate chunks of grilled chicken breast and there will be a lot of it on the pie. There was easily 2 large chicken breasts worth of chicken on my medium pie tonight. I've never really tried the bread sides but the wings are large, delicious, and provide a perfect side order for their pizzas. Like a previous Yelper wrote, it's slightly more pricey than the typical crappy pizzerias but you get sooo much more food and much better quality for the extra dollar or 2.

omg... drool.... i will never order pizza from anywhere else again! its a little expensive but it is tasty, namely because CHEESE is oh so good. It took me forever to eat here, because its out of my normal loop and i didn't think they delivered to my neighborhood. but yay they do! So ya, sausage pizza, yummy sausage, hawaiian, yummy also, cheese combo is so tasty, the crusty is good, ( only once has it been a little too over cooked) so overall review = yummy!

This place gets at least one extra star for being one of the only places in the area open at ten pm on a Monday. The guys who work here have always been nice and quick to get us what we want. I've had more food delivered from here than anything else, but when you are so hungry it hurts, call and pick it up! It's wicked quick. It's your average, American, kinda thick crusted pizza. They have endless toppings to choose from, and we noticed little cards on the counter last night: order online M-W(?) and get a pizza and wings for 9.99 with this little coupon the size of a business card!

  • Joey C.

Within walking distance, so I'm not sure what delivery is like but I'm always satisfied, nonetheless. I've ordered a few times from here, almost always just pizza. I personally think their pizza is great! its constructed and cooked well enough to hold in your hand, they use plenty of cheese, and their sauce has a covered sweetness that lights up any palate. I'd have probably gifted the 5 stars if their prices were a dollar or 2 cheaper, but i don't lose sleep over it.

Pinky's is some kind of wonderful. Do not order here expecting something fancy, it's just straight up, great, greasy pizza. The delivery is really fast, and they remember your address when you call back (yay). The people there are wicked nice too, even gave us Christmas cards this year when we ordered in December. My favorite pizza place in the area by far.

I almost gave this place 1 star - but their prices and service earned them the extra star. The pizza...not that great. I have tried several pizza joints around the Somerville/Cambridge/Medford area and this one is the least likely to receive my business again even though they are just down the street. I have been in the store as well as had stuff delivered - I had hoped my first pizza with them was on an off day (for them, or me...) but I was wrong. Nothing tasted fresh, they seemed bent out of shape about having to fix my order when they screwed it up and needed to fix it (they even admitted to it, just asked if I would "deal with it and eat it like that" - seriously?!). Since there are tons of places to chose from for your pizza business, I would pass on this place.

Their pizzas are delicious!!! They even place a net underneath the pizza so that it doesn't get soggy from the juices. Really great pizza, can't go wrong!!! Even delivered, they are HOT and amazing :-)

  • Asha P.

I absolutely LOVE pinky's pizza. It really is the best around. The sauce is the perfect sweet and tangy (I love saucy pizza), the cheese is yummy and melty, and the crust isn't too thick. Just because I love how the basic elements taste, I usually get plain old cheese pizza but italian sausage and bell peppers on it are super awesome too. One word of caution, though, I try and stay away from their pepperoni pizzas because (without fail) the pepperoni always makes the entire thing super super greasy to the point that it is soaking into the box below and I don't even want to eat it. Pepperoni lovers: maybe you are SOL but aside from that it really is the best!

Thus far, the best pizza I've found in the area. I was a bit skeptical, because I think it's a love/hate relationship, alas...I am in love...with a pie...named Pinky. The crust is effing phenomenal, and the sauce is just right. They also have really good breadsticks. The toppings are very good, although I wouldn't recommend getting onion because they don't seem to cook the onions....at all. Overall, you can't get better than Pinky's. And trust me, I've tried. But you can count on Pinky's for a consistent good product 10 times out of 10.

Very good service, either delivery or carry out/eat in. Online ordering is simple and convenient. Menu has a lot of choices. My taste in pizza is maybe a bit bland, I just like a good old pepperoni and extra cheese. Which makes the Godzillaroni pizza a winner for me. Also really like the chicken tenders. It's not my absolute favorite pizza in the world, that's why 4 instead of 5, but this is a great neighborhood pizza place that is really good in terms of quality, service, quantity and variety. Can't go wrong with these folks.

Good pizza, chicken finger dinner with duck sauce is awesome, great salads. Only thing lacking is the cheesy bread. Delivery is fast, always hot and fresh. I love the online ordering thing - very easy! The "fancy" pizzas are great, but the regular pizza is well, typical of the other local places.

With a few busy weeks in a row, I've been ordering out quite a bit. With that, I've had to start varying it up a little bit. Pinky's offers online ordering, good prices, the service is quick and kind, and they serve a solid American pizza. I've really enjoyed the Hawaiian Pizza so far but the other specialty pizzas are good as well. This place certainly won't knock your socks off. But it's good, easy to get and cheap. Try it out.

  • Christopher M.

Pinky's is a good, solid pizza joint - one of the best in Medford. The food is good, the prices are very reasonable, and delivery is free, available pretty late at night, and is super fast. In my opinion, it's an all around perfect pizza place, but it's lacking the extra something, that extra 'oomph' that it takes to get a fifth star. Bottom line is that everyone likes it, but no one 'loves' it.

  • Justin D.

I had the pleasure of living across from Pinky's for a little over the year, and to be honest I probably ate here at least 2-3 times a month the entire time. Their pizzas are some of the best in the area, and their salads are actually quite yummy too! Among my favorite pizzas are the Wild Westside Story (bacon, onions, BBQ chicken) and the classic Hawaiian, with ham and pineapple. Even their plain is pretty good, with a tasty blend of cheeses and a solid sauce. They can be a bit greasy, though, so bring your paper towels if you're squeamish.

Ordered from Campus Food and the estimated delivery time was 45 minutes. I called the restaurant after an hour and the person on the phone said that the delivery car had already left and promptly hung up. A half hour later the food was delivered, but I had to warm it up in the microwave. The food itself was okay.

Granted, i've only had Pinky's once, but it was hands-down 5 star quality. I had heard of this place from the, uh, incident...and from their menu's that they constantly delivered to my apartment. i finally gave it a shot months later, and i only now wish that i would have tried it sooner. Pinky's is a town over from me, a few miles away, but the food arrived in under 30 minutes and was still hot. at 7pm on weeknight, i'll take that. utilized a coupon that got me a medium 1 topping pizza and a bread side, all for under $10. i went for the cheese garlic sticks. they were some of the best i've had before. they give you a generous portion, a side of marinara and even sprinkle some cheese on top of the cheese. great flavor and immediately added to my queue for re-order. the pizza was a decent size for a medium, and they even put a mat underneath the pizza in the box to keep it less greasy. good crust, not too thin. the cheese was just cooked a little extra and i love that, they nailed it without my even asking for it. one thing that really stuck out was the sauce. definitely on the sweeter side and almost a little tangy. certainly unique and i can see this being the deal-breaker for a lot of people on this place. but when you combine it with the dough, cheese and toppings (excellent taste on the toppings i had) it worked for me. it was a pleasant surprise how good the entire meal was, they even sent me a thatnk you note letting me know they have their own online ordering system outside of third parties. i'll have to update after another order, but it's a good sign that i definitely can't wait to order from them again

Pinky's has become my favorite pizza place in the area. Delivery is free and the food is always hot. The specialty pizza options are nice and the cinnamon bread sticks are to die for. It's also nice to know that when you call and place your order, it sounds like the people answering the phone understand you.

So I feel kinda indifferent about this place but I have only had ONE delivery experience so far. I love to pick apart menus that are all flash and dazzle with extra $4 added on to everything.. But I'm reading the menu and I see something enticing.. for sides you can get a scoop of feta on any salad ( amogst others that conenvtional pizza places don't offer) I orered a garden salad with a scoop of feta because I can eat feta on just about anything and a small order of mozzerella sticks. So the delivery was actually early and great but they put tuna on the salad. instead, I called back and told the management and they were really nice and apologetic and sent out another corrected salad in no time. The mozz sticks were really great, some of the best I've gotten in a pizza joint but as far as all their other menu items, they dont have anything spectacular and it is a little more than anyone would like to spend on a pizza. I'm willing to give them another try just given the service I had.

Love Pinky's pizza! Their specialty flavors are awesome, especially love the buffalo chicken. And it's great how they put that little wire mesh thing on the bottom of the box, so the pizza doesn't get soggy. What a great idea! All pizza places should do that.

  • Ashley J.

I can't fathom how they are so quick. We are creatures of habit, so we stick with the eggplant pizza. I love when breaded eggplant isn't too goopy. We used to order it more, but I do admit that I've gotten a little sick of the sweetness of the sauce. It's because of this unique sauce that we loved it so much to begin with, but we may need a little break. This and Nick's are our fav. pizza places. I won't change my stars for it, but I did not care for their chicken parm calzone - it was too "fast-foody" and totally processed.

OK this place is legit!! I mean when you get everyone including the GM of the company into buying lunch from this place and loving it then you know that its a hit. We have even told the delivery guys that they should just open up a location in our downstairs lobby b/c they deliver here SO much. My coworker orders from here everyday...the Grilled Chicken Cesar wrap w/ Honey mustard dressing. Don't ask me about the dressing part its his thing! The Grilled Chicken Kabob wrap is on point however, I would recommend asking the dressing on the side b/c they do drench the wrap with lots of dressing and it gets messy. But if that's how you like it then you found your place. I've had their salads and calzones which both are good. The pricing is reasonable, 6 bucks for a wrap! AND Free Delivery! Cmon now what more can you ask for?!?! One thing...they need to bottle their Cesar dressing b/c its the best one I've had in a while!

I wish that their prices were a bit lower so I could eat their Apple Walnut Gorgonzola salad more often. Super yummy and lots of the key ingredients, which is really nice and almost makes up for the prices being on the higher side. I've also tried their calzone which, in stark contrast to their salad, was below average, and their cheese pizza which, after such a mediocre calzone, (for a great one, try Pasta Pisa!) was refreshingly tasty! The sauce is sweeter than you would expect, but in a surprising and nice way. My boyfriend had a salad that had mandarins and pineapple on it in a tortilla shell and he was pretty disappointed with it, (I tasted it and agree, it wasn't very good) but he tried mine and also loved the Apple Walnut Gorgonzola salad. I'll let you in on a little secret - my boyfriend doesn't really warm to salad very much so, if it impressed him so much that he wanted to order one for himself the next time, you know you should try it! I live nearby so pick up my orders usually but on the first night I moved in II had them deliver and, oh my God are they ever fast!!! Totally exceeded my expectations, and I thought they would be pretty quick, but they were lightning fast!

Pizza here is very unimpressive, although they probably broke laws of physics in order to get ours to us as incredibly quickly as they did. The amount of toppings was fair but not generous, and the sauce and cheese were minimal. Crust is good--chewy and simple. There's got to be better out there, though.

The Godzilla-Roni is really good! The sauce is a little sweet and the cheese is delicious. We're very glad we've discovered Pinky's!

i ordered this the other night for me and my girlfriend and we were starving....... i have to admit the website order was nice, however a bit confusing as when i decided to do pick up rather than delivery i could select the option for credit card not that it mattered but still. we ordered an XL pizza with anchovies(which i tried for the first time honestly not that bad but i think i would have changed the cheese) and sausage and red peppers. which was delicious not the best pizza in the world but definatly a contender for the somerville area whch seems to be lacking in good pizza.4 stars an order of wings with garlic parmasan(im used to an oil based and this is cream based) which was pretty good but messy, however the were expecting crispy wings as the site said an i found the wings were less than still let alone crunchy. not exactly the best meat ive had but none the less delicious because of the sauce. 3 stars and finally an order of the foccaccia bread, which was pretty delicious and comes with melted cheses and sauteed sweet onions on it and a oil based dip. 5 stars the best part of the meal. Now with all that in mind i have to say that im rating to express my love for horrible unhealthy drunk munch food. i image i ate 4 days worth of calories and overdosed on grease and fat. it was glorious but deniatly a once in awhile treat.

Good pizza all-around. I liked the crust, it was crisp, despite the fact that I had a rather meaty pizza. My dinnermate was a little disappointed in the fact that they put frozen spinach on her pizza as opposed to fresh, but I am not one to ever order spinach on anything (let alone let it ruin a good pizza), so I'm not taking that into consideration. The ham on my pizza was definitely quality (not like some pizza joints that cut up some cold-cuts and slap them on). I had a bit of sausage as well, and it was equally good, if not a little overpowering. They definitely did not skimp on the toppings! I'd say this is the best place to get delivery from in the Medford/Somerville area I've found as of yet.

I ventured into Pinky's last weekend after having some drinks with my roomates. Since we recently moved approximately 1 block away, I knew eating here was gonna happen. I have to say, although it may look a little shady from outside, the pizza was surprisingly good! They have a really large selection of pizzas with fun and creative names. We order the Hawaiian and the Rockin' Ricotta. I can see how this place is popular. I do think it's a pricey though... two medium "specialty" pizzas came to $27 (yikes!). They have free delivery though if you don't live one block away like I do.

As a Chicago native I can be a little picky about pizza. Pinky's does a pretty good pizza. The range of toppings and quality of ingredients is excellent. The free delivery and ridiculously speedy service mean its' affordable and convenient. I have to disagree with some of the other reviews, it's /just/ greasy enough. The range of specialty pizzas mean that I always have a wide range of interesting options. Also, anyplace with a decent barbeque option wins points in my book. The calzones are a little on the small side and I wish they did a deep dish, I'd be willing to give it a try.

The pizza is AMAZING, specifically the soft crust and quality toppings. Online ordering is a snap, and they always arrive at my door within thirty minutes. I'm glad I found Pinky's before ordering from each of the bajillions of pizza parlors in the area.

This place should be called Pinky's Chicken Parmasean Calazone because thats the thing I like most. They are also located within walking distance of my apartment and have speedy service. I'm not a huge fan of their pizza because its really greasy and not what I am used to but their wraps are also pretty spectacular.

Pinky's is good. We always order it at work and everyone loves it. I know they deliver to Medford but not sure how much further...

The chicken kabob wrap is not to be missed, skip the onions though. Plus, they're super speedy, seriously, 10 minutes or less for just about anything, and the price can't be beat. The service is a little gruff, but it's part of the charm.

I can't understand why it's "famous". It actually tastes like pizza out of the microwave. I've had pizza from all the local places now that I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years. This place isn't the worst, but it'd definitely not in the top 50% either... that is, unless, you like microwave pizza. :)

Fast delivery. A little under 30 minutes from Main Street Medford to Tufts University area on a Tuesday night. Rebel without the sauce calzone (feta, chicken, tomatoes), was pretty good. 7.99 for a small calzone is a good price around here. The calzone was loaded and was definitely a good size for the price. The cinnamon sticks here are really good when they're hot.
